The demon inquisition certainly had raised alarms for everyone in Fiore. For Syeena, she was not sure whether it was a boon or a curse to her. It didn't help her, that her family-- the clan of witches that she grew up in-- had dealings with demons. What people didn't consider or even understand, that demons were divided into factions and were just as diversified as any other human being. The pure monsters were legion creatures, barely able to communicate with. Other demons were more intelligent and capable of reason. Syeena's coven, known as the Umbra Witches, had contracts with demons. However, the goal of the Umbra Witches were to maintain the balance of darkness in the world. Which meant if darkness or demons sought to overtake the world-- they were the first vanguards. They were the first to act, and remained hidden in shadow to enforce the balance. However, as many would presume, people confused them as Satanists, wicked witches who worship demons. Pure BS. It led Syeena here. Not only to stop the cultists, but to also clear and honor her clan's name. As the youngest present Umbra Witch, she was dedicated to knock the demon cult down a peg. It was the city of Trillium. Out of many years, the city had had its fair share of destruction and misery. It was a miracle that anyone still lived in the city. She would of thought people might of abandoned and left the place long ago. But had become one of the well known city of sin, debauchery and civil dysfunction. Corruption had turned the town into a tourist trade city, with clubs, casinos and other places that people came to visit that allowed them to indulge. It was no shock that the demon cult had a foothold here, despite the knights and mages campaigns. But other dark mage hang outs were there, and one of which was the Black Cat lounge-- a magical night club that Syeena went to. It would appear and disappear randomly, but with magic it showed up almost anywhere where someone was looking for it for the right reasons. ANd it was run by a friend of hers. As of right now, Syeena was at the bar of the club, tended by her friend, a dark skinned young man named Agil, with a bald head and strong physic, and a kind look on his face. No one would of guessed he could be half demon. Syeena and him had been friends since they were kids, so Syeena had always been a big supporter of the bar. But they both were feeling the stress of the inquisition. For didfferent reasons. "Damn, fools..." Agil vented, cleaning one of his glasses. "Buisness has really been hell for me since all this shit come up. The Black Cat is neutral. Plus I keep getting harassed," he vented. SYeena sipped a martini-- only one-- and listened to her friend. Nearby, Syeena's familiar-- the Black Exceed Cat named Hex, snoozed on the stool next to her. She was curled up, her little black witch's hat covering her eyes. "Really? How so?" Syeena asked, wishing to know more of Agil's troubles. WHen she got into the bar, she was puzzled by her friend's sour attitude. |

This inquisition thing that had started in Fiore was really not something Emi cared much about. In fact she wasn't even aware of it until a knight named Alonne sent her a letter requesting help to take down a few cultists. Emi jumped at the idea, as she loved kicking butt, literally, and it being human or demon made little difference what so ever. This didn't meant that she cared about the inquisition now. She went along that time cause a friend asked for help, not like she would cross the country to help a stranger. So why would Emi travel to Trillium after hearing a rumor of demon sightings? Well, to explain that its necessary explain Emi's religion, The Pact... not in detail mind you. The Pact believes in 6 Gods, and is divided into 6 Orders, each following the teachings of one God. The one Emi follows is Balthazar the God of war and fire, as she belongs to the Sunspears. But this isn't about that, the important one here is Grenth, God of Darkness. You see, the thing is, Grenth isn't the original God of Darkness, like the other Gods have been Gods from the start. Grenth took his position as a God by force, by imprisoning the previous God Dhuum in the Hall of Judgement. And why does this matter, one might ask? Well, according to legend Dhuum as escaped a number of times, and as a result, countless lives and untold destruction was caused, which eventually lead to him and his minions being called Demons. The designation of demon is quite broad, however, as Emi herself has been called a demon by many, although 50% of those times were during her rebellious age... ok make that 70%. That never even fazed Emi but there was something that bothered Emi this time. On the previous cultist hunt with Alonne, Emi had found herself in a room filled with unreadable symbols. She didn't recognized any at first, but they started to look familiar to something. She recalled a book she read on Dhuum, and the symbols, were indeed similar. There was no way to tell if this even had something to do with the previous God of Darkness, or if it was just a demon kinda off writing, but Emi couldn't really leave it to chance here. If Dhuum was involved, The Pact needed to be warned. Walking around the city, her small body allowed her to sneak around the shadows when needed and considering her inhuman attributes, she needed to do so a lot as to avoid drawing too much attention. This however lasted a long time and Emi began feeling hungry, and thirsty. As the child minded kid that she is, Emi quickly forgot what she was supposed to be doing, and simply began wishing for somewhere she could get food discretely. She was thinking this as she smelled something. Turning around, Emi saw a door where there was a wall before, the smell clearly coming from it. Emi hesitated at first, as she recalled her mission here, but a growl from her raging stomach quickly deleted those thoughts again. So Emi peeked thru the strange door, her ears bent back as if to hide their presence. Once realized it was some kind of bar, her ears perked up and she made a mad dash to the counter, jumping into one of the stools. "HellothercouldIgetsomethingtoeat?I'mstarvingfromallthewalkingIhadtodotoday.", said Emi so fast she almost ate most of the words. Then she noticed she there was someone else at the counter, her ears flickered, "Oh, hi there! Sorry for the intrusion. :3" |

Needless to say, in the Black Cat lounge, where Agil was pretty much the cool cat bartender, it was rare to see him all riled up and grumpy. It was never with Syeena, not usually. He was clearly troubled by something else, and while Syeena was on her quest to stick it to the Demon cult, she was not surprised to see her friend being impacted by it. "Bad enough this inquisition had taken a stab at my business. Hardly anyone comes here anymore. They could at least tip more," Agil argued. Syeena gave him a sour look, as if it was a jab at her. "Oh thanks a lot," she replied sarcastically. Agil only shook his head, both of them knowing full well it was not cause of her. "Hey I had my dry spells of customers. That isn't what its only about. Painful as it is, but the real problem is...ugh," Agil grumbled a bit, not sure if he should tell Syeena. "The most frequent visitor that does come here-- is not the kind I would welcome," he said. Syeena put down her drink and looked to her friend with a concerned look. "What do you mean?" she asked. Agil put down his glass, and in a rare moment, felt the need for a drink himself. He got himself a bottle of the green Fairy-- a very strong drink and poured himself a small bit of it. Syeena knew he was not happy when he himself drank on the job. "Men from that stupid ass cult has been coming here. They come here, asking me to be hosting some of their 'gatherings'. I tell them the same thing, over and over again. " He took another hard sip of the Green Fairy, making Syeena blink in mild amusement and surprise. "I tell them that this is a neutral bar, and I don't do shit for them, but those persistant buggers keep coming and asking. They don't take no for an answer. What? Just cause I work with demons mean I gotta jump on their radicalistic bandwagon? F-them!" Syeena could only sympathize with her friend. She was working hard to find a way to pull the plug on the demon cult herself, as they threatened the balance between light and darkness. "Well, Agil, you are capable of kicking ass as best as the rest of them. You could send them packing," she said, tring to tell Agil that he could afford to enforce his authority more. Agil felt unsure, and for a reason. he still ran a business, so he was always conflicted of being courteous to customers, but also putting his foot down when they misused his facilities. It was all about good business for him. At that time,t here was an opening of the door, and an adorable little fox girl came in. At least business was not completely dead for Agil as she walked in happily. Hex hopped up awake like a scared cat as the fox girl entered, her appearance and attitude being very perky. Asking for food, Agil nodded. He waved his hand and via magic, one of the prepared meals appeared before her. SYeena cast a soft smile at her. "It's okay, just don't rattle Hex. The cat is sassy as hell," the beautiful witch said as she resumed her conversation with Agil As they were just about to enjoy a drink, the door opened again. Syeena turned around, and Agil looked--only go have a glum look on his face. Three strangers walked in through the door of the BLack Cat lounge. Two of them, looking like muscle bound body guards were both demons. They had horns, muscular bodies tails and claws. How they got through the streets looking like that, Syeena had no clue. However, she did remember The Black Cat was a multi-dimensional place, meaning there could be entrances in other places. The two demons looked generally smart, and walked with one guy, who appeared to be pretty much human, or demon in disguise. He was dressed in a black suit with a cool hat and sun glasses. Syeena had a sinking feeling these were the same guys Agil was complaining about. Edited by Zaber, Mar 1 2015, 12:47 AM.

The woman seemed friendly enough, AND SHE HAD A CUT CAT!!! Shame it seemed petting it wasn't a good idea. Emi loved cats. Although, there was something different about this one, Emi just couldn't put her finger on it. Oh well, food was here so she other things to keep herself busy. "Oh. I wanted to pet it. :(", said Emi with a disappointed tone, before she turned cheerful once again and turned to her food, "Oh well. Eating time! :D" No matter how you looked at it, Emi appeared to be a small kid with a lot of energy, and an appetite to match. The food she was served, was a grilled steak, served with french fries and some rice. Nothing fancy, and the taste was nothing extravagant either, but the steak had some spices that at least made it taste different and the quantity on her plate was exactly what Emi wanted. The only thing hated more than bad food, was small quantities of food, even if its top rate cuisine. But this place had a good balance, as even if the food wasn't too great, the quantity was just right for her. If the bill isn't too high, Emi might just return here in the future. "Ahhhh...", let out Emi has she finished cleaning up the place, quite literally, as there wasn't even a grain of rice left, but there was some dish gravy than needed some attending, "Could I get some bread? Would hate to let this yummy gravy go to waste. Oh! and some orange juice to push it down. :3" This might sound like a normal thing to anyone as it is, but the this is, Emi started eating when the three strangers entered the room, and by the time she asked for bread, she had yet to notice they were there. She was way to focused on her current 'task' to remember her original mission. |

It seemed the fox girl was very eager to play with Hex. Hex cracked open an eye from under her witch's hat and looked up at the girl, wanting so eagerly to pet Hex. Hex was not oppose to being patted like a cat, but was weary of strangers. Still-- the cat sighed and gave in. "Fine go ahead, but if you pull at my tail and mess up my fur you are in for it," Hex replied, allowing the young fox girl to pet her. Syeena laughed a little at this. Hex the sassy cat could be kind at times. But once again, things got dangerous as the three strangers came and began to harass Agil. so the young fox girl Emi would be delayed on her bread. How she ate without noticing the three thug-like people in the semi-dark mage bar. "Well, good to see you again, Agil," the man with the glasses greeted him, tilting his hat politely. "So did you give any more thought to my offer?" Agil glared at him. "I am telling you the same thing I told you the past three times-- my answer is no! I am not gonna host your dumb-ass club here, Alastor," he snarled at him. WHile the stranger, named Alastor, was trying to be civil with his words, the two thugs behind him didn't seem anything close to polite. They were like guard dogs to the man, with fangs and crude manners. Syeena kept quiet for now while Hex allowed Emi to warm up to her. "Don't be foolish, Agil," Alastor said, gesturing a hand to emphasize a point. "This dingy bar wont hold up. I'm offering a way to increase your business from all sides. Your underworld business would boom, so would your bar sales here. You just gotta give some priority access to some of our members--" "You must be brain-dead if I have to repeat myself this many times. This place is neutral. I am not going to start hosting your little rallies here, so you can go somewhere else. " Agil shouted, slamming a fist into the bar so hard it made all the glasses rattle. "Make me repeat that one more time, and it will cost you a boot up yo ass!" Syeena remained calm and drank her drink. She was always impressed to see Agil get his courage to lash out at those causing trouble in his bar. He was polite but he knew when to exert force. And while Agil didn't seem like it, he was very powerful in magic-- even stronger than Syeena was. He just controlled himself often. "You're making a big mistake, my friend," ALastor said. While they were talking, one of the demon body guards were curious to Hex. The giant demon suddenly picked up Hex by the back of the neck, surprising the Exceed cat. The bulky demon licked his lips. "Pretty kitty looks tasty," the demon said, finding Hex acceptable as a snack! This did not bode well.... SLASH!! The demon suddenly let out a scream of pain as it was scratched clean across the face, claw marks on his face. Hex had acted quickly and scratched the demon, now floating high up to the ceiling with her Exceed wings. The cat fluttered high above Emi, having been interrupted getting to know the fox girl. "Pretty kitty kick your ass if you try and lay one finger on me, pal!" Hex replied with a hiss in her voice. |

Emi was waiting on the bread she just asked, when the cat told her she could pet it after all... wait a second... THE CAT TALKED!!! Emi basically froze momentarily while her brain registered the event. "OMG!THECATTALKED! O_O", thought Emi, as her brain began organizing the new information, "Shesaiditwasoktopether... sheisasheright?Shesoundedlikeashe.Yesdefinitelyashe! TheownercalledherHex?Suchacutename!IWANTTOPETHERSOMUCH!!! XO" Emi's mind was basically blown at this point. But this all lasted but a second, and soon enough Emi began petting Hex. Starting with head, then scratching her chin and ears, Emi made sure Hex enjoyed this as much as she was. "Who's the cute kitty? You're the cute kitty. Yes you are. ^^" Emi was totally in squee mode right now, her own ears mirroring those of Hex. She completely forgot about the bread she had ordered. And while the men argued behind her, she was one hundred percent zoned out at the moment. Nothing would distract her from her petting right now. Nothing except some one grabbing the cat out of no where. "HEY! I was petting her, wait your turn! D<", Emi paused noticing the inhuman form of the thing that grabbed Hex. then as she heard what the demon talk she continued, "What? No don't eat her! D:" But the cat didn't need help, as she clawed her way to freedom. Then she flew. Emi had never seen an exceed before, so a talking cat was something new to her, but a flying one was rather somewhat normal for her, in someway. Still, Emi got out of her bench and approached the guy that was looking up at the exceed, kicking him in the leg to get his attention. "HEY! Why don't you mess with someone more of your own size? >(", said Emi. Which was kinda funny considering there was still a considerable difference in size between her and the... thing. Syeena didn't laugh, or rather tried not to as she just smirked as Hex scratched the demon. While the demon looked strong, it was clear Hex was smarter. For Syeena, or any woman in her opinion, it was better to be smart and quick than physically stronger any day. All the while Agil was now loosing his patience. "HEY! That does it! No one harasses my customers! ANd that cat owes me money so no ones eating her, got it!" he snapped at the demon. Agil grinned as well, glad Hex did that. It was a rare sight to see Agil and Hex on the same page, since the two often argued at one another and basically made one another miserable at times. Alastor could tell his trip here would be fruitless. He had pissed off Agil and let it pass for now. However, now the guy in the slick suit made his way towards Syeena. He now sought her attention, looking her over-- probably with more interest than she would of wanted. Likely due to the way her legs were exposed. He also could tell by the mark on them-- she was in Grimore Heart. "Hey there, miss," ALastor said, grinning at Syeena. "SO your in Grimore Heart. Perhaps you would be interested in being part of the revolution." He then passed out the flyer. It was an black poster with a demonic emblem, and it's message was pretty simple. "Become a part of the evolution. Break free of mankind's limitations and awaken a new future for us to follow." In short, it was a recruitment flyer to the demon cult. It also was handed to her a card-- an invitation to it. She didn't touch it nor better to look the recruiter Alastor in the eye. "THATS IT!!" Agil shouted, this time an aura of red wafted off of his body as he slammed a fist into the bar-- causing the wood to crack. Alastor and the two demon guards looked to him, startled. "Get out! You are no longer welcomed here, personally or professionally. " At that moment, ALastor backed away, clearly not going to start any violence in the place. At this time, Syeena chuckled to herself. "If I did decide to join your little club-- take a hint. I rather have the invitation from your boss. Now you better get lost before Agil raises hellfire on you. ANd trust me, I can do far worse." she commented. ALastor growled a bit, glaring at Agil and the bar in general. Clearly he didn't like being turned down. "YOu will regret this..." he said, and turned to leave. His two demon guards followed him loyally and they left the bar, leaving it alone with Syeena, Hex and Emi like before. Hex soon fluttered down to Emi, and her wings vanished. Emi could go back and petting Hex if she wanted. "So your a fox? Um what's your name? Yes I can talk. " Hex answered Emi, despite how talkative she was when full of energy. With the demon cultist recruiter gone, SYeena turned back to Agil with a sigh. "I see your problem," she said, "Do you suspect they will come back." Agil sighed as he rested his elbows on the bar. "If they do, it wont be a friendly visit. One of their muscle 'accidentally' broke one of the tables. Its f-intimidation. Plain and simple," he said. Syeena looked at the flyer before her. As she looked at the black page, she thought of how she could bring it down. That cult was causing problems, for both light and dark mages like her. They were no revolution. They were blind fools out of control, and she had to pull the plug on them. Then, she had an idea... |

Emi was just standing there, staring down the big guy. She was more than wiling to fight him. No was going to eat cats on her watch. She was so focused on glaring down her opponent, that completely failed to hear the part where the bartender basically said a cat owned him jewels, if she had, Emi would very likely have chuckled and mocked the man, which probably wasn't a good idea... but Emi wasn't known for thinking about that kind of stuff. Emi then heard the word Grimore Heart being used, and somehow she knew that she was supposed to know what that information meant. But again, she wasn't one to know or remember about details like that. After all, its was probably just another guild like her own. The aggravated bartender, eventually forced the trio to leave, allowing Hex to come back down. It appeared as the men either respected or feared the barkeep... most likely both, which made Emi wonder what kind of establishment this was, but that thought didn't last long as Hex landed really close to Emi, immediately caused her to kneel and resume the petting. Having seen the exceed fly made Emi think Hex was the cutest and coolest cat ever. "Well. It's complicated.", Emi answered Hex, "But yeah, you can say that I'm part human part fox. And my name is Emilia by the way :3" Emi stood in that position for a while, until her knees began to hurt, at which point she remembered the bread she ordered, and picked up Hex to place Hex in the bench next to her own's, being sure that the bench was within her arm's reach, she she could pet Hex while she ate the bread. Or she would if there was any. "Excuse me. Sorry to bother. Could I have that bread I ordered now?", asked Emi while still petting Hex with her free hand, "I kinda need it before the gravy goes completely cold. >.<" |

Hex resumed to be petted by Eli. THe cat was purring up a storm as she very much enjoyed the company of the younger fox girl. Syeena couldn't help but smirk as Hex just looooved being so adored, and usually it didn't happen when you got to know the cat for her sassy and sarcastic personality. At that point when she asked for the bread, Agil turned to her. WIth a snap of his fingers, bread appeared in a blaze of flame-- signaling Agil's powers. She now had her bread to enjoy. Syeena was still thinking and saw how Agil was upset with the events of the cult. But she had a plan that she was going to take action to. "You know Agil, " Syeena said as she waved her hand across the bar-- producing three cards. "Maybe there is some merit to his 'invitation' . I may know how to solve your problems," "And how do you think you can do that?" Agil asked. Syeena flipped over the first card, showing the Moon-- a card of mystery and elusive nature. "Well, they are working so hard to have you on their side and get more members. I say... when you can't beat them, join them." Syeena said as she flipped over the next card, showing the five of wands-- the card of unity and group activity, representing the cult. Agil stood up and looked at Syeena with shock. "WHAT?! Are you crazy? You actually considering joining those morons!?" Agil said, genuinely upset that Syeena even considered this action. "Just what are you thinking?! You got more sense than to join those ass-hats--" "Just hear me out," Syeena said as she reached for the third card. "That recruiter certainly was interested to have me on their side... so why not give him what he wants. I will get inside, then..." She flipped the final card, and revealed the seven of swords-- the card of theft and deception. A card symbolic for betrayal. "Hit them where it hurts most." "You wanna sneak in as a member, so you can sabatoge them from the inside out?" Agil summed up, seeing the smirk on Syeena's face. "Syeena, they are organized, cautious and smart. They wont fool for this easily. You're talking about going right into the lion's den!" Syeena waved her hand over her cards, picking them up. "Maybe... but it hurts most when its at home. A blow from the inside will cripple them indefinitely. And that fool, just gave me a ticket in." she said, holding up the card and flyer that he had given her. "I can do this real well," she said. |

YAY, finally some bread to soak up the gravy... but Emi was petting the kitty now, and she didn't want to stop. Emi looked at the bread, then at Hex, then at the bread again. Result? Emi started to eat the bread with the gravy using her left hand, while petting Hex with her right hand. It was the perfect solution. Again, Emi was rather fast at eating, devouring the bread as if it was nothing much as she never actually took her eyes out of Hex. Emi just loved cats. Emi was starting to feel full at last, when she noticed there was only a small amount of bread left, and the gravy was mostly gone. Emi decided to give the last remaining of this tasty combo to the cute kitty. "Here.", said Emi as she soaked up the last remains of the gravy with the last piece of bread, then handed it to Hex, "Want to give it a try? It's really tasty! :3" Of course during this entire time, Emi had been so focused on what she herself was doing, and Hex of course, that she didn't even notice the subject of the conversation happening next to her, other than the fact that it was about those weird guys that had left moments ago. But that was beside the point, since Emi still had a mission she had given herself, and now that she was well fed and satisfied, she remembered it. "Oh, that's right!", said Emi out loud, before taking out the jewels to pay for the meal. After paying for it, Emi turned to Hex, "I have something to do, so be a good kitty, and I will pamper you a lot more next time we meet ok? ^^" Emi made sure to pet Hex a few more seconds, then she jumped off, and made her way to the exit, but she stopped as her ears twitched. Turning back around, Emi gave a small bow to Agil. "Thank you for the meal." Emi turned again and exited the establishment. She had some cultist to find. |
