Cyrus didn't hear the scream coming from the brothel next door, but the people outside sure as heck did. The knight heard yells and shouts coming from directly outside the bar, shouts of panic and paranoica, a familiar feeling seeing as how they were under the paranoid dictatorship of the Inquisition. The blond frowned, "I take it that'll be my partner then" the blond guessed, figuring that Rhevas had simply lost control somewhat. Cyrus sighed, finishing off his rum and paying off his tab to the simple bartender before getting up from his seat and storming out the door back into the courtyard of the red light district. The scene had certainly changed, people were running out of the brothel, some decent and some not- as we the nature of such an establishment. the knight adjusted his sunglasses somewhat and watched people pour out of the building. Taking information gathering into his own hands, the knight forcefully grabbed a nearby passerby and interrogated them about what had happened. The sheepish and panicked bystander seemed honest enough, although the fact that there had been a disappearance just as the bartender had described it seemed more alarming than curious. "Son of a bitch" the knight muttered under his breath, scratching his chin in contemplation and staring at the ground while people ran by him, he needed to think things through a bit. The Turks and these disappearances, were they connected somehow? They had to be... Cyrus let out a soft "Tch" before moving against the steady stream of people and entering the brothel, something one wouldn't see the blond usually doing on a normal day- he wasn't that kind of person. Still, once he had made his way inside of the fairly barren brothel, the knight could look around to find absolutely nothing out of the ordinary. Things seemed fairly standard for the most part really, there were a few mysterious liquid and substances littering the linoleum floor in a few spots, but perhaps such questions were better left unanswered. It was now that he spotted Rhevas. "What happened" he would ask the man, walking up to him and waiting for him to give a brief report on who had been kidnapped now and just how the event took place. Once the dark mage had filled the knight in, Cyrus would once again look at his feet, trying to make sense of the mystery. "Well one thing is for certain, these Turks seem to have started being active around the same time these kidnappings started" the blond said, recalling the information they had gathered. If such a thing was true, then it meant there were far darker things afoot here than just some simple vandals spray-painting public property. They had to find the group's hideout fast. "Right, next step then- bag ourselves a Turk and finally get to the bottom of this" he said, although he himself wasn't quite sure how they would do such a task. |

Rhevas was surprised that Cyrus had come along. He took a bit of time before he could respond seeing how he needed to form the words correctly else he might not be able to specifically explain the situation. When he did, he simply stuck to simple enough words to get by. Such as, “Boss woman sez some customers are Turks. Then woman somewhere scream, ayer went look. Ringing chime, ayer went back to location and boss woman disappeared. Ayer no burn her or anything, okay?” He really had a feeling the other was seething with frustration thinking he may have a hand of things. Well, he glanced at the still unconscious and lying bodies of the bouncers and shrugged. “Okay, maybe ayer beat bouncers, but daz all,” he admitted as he waved a hand towards their direction before he faced the knight once more, waiting for his final verdict. Though he had an inclination of slapping the knight silly if he would still pursue the idea that Rhevas was being a trouble-magnet all over again. Luckily, the knight seemed more concerned about hunting those Turks than to his first trouble with the bouncers. And he agreed without a moment’s hesitation. So they would try to leave the brothel, brainstorming on how to locate the Turk’s hideout. And it was then when he remembered the boss woman’s words about some customers being Turks. But surely the only way for her to know about it was if one of her girls were talkative enough to share such an information, and such a girl meant she was quite popular. “Wait. Ayer needs to get woman first,” he said, even if it sounded so strange and almost irrelevant. He then went over to the corner where the ladies were huddle over, scared as it would seem and after a bit of talking one woman had seemingly flung herself over him, clinging like a dog. He then looked back to Cyrus and called out, “She sez dated one of them or so.” |

Cyrus might have been somewhat irked at Rhevas for causing some minor mischief, but the fact that he wasn't the reason people were running for their lives and screaming was rather relieving- it would have been painfully awkward (quite literally) if the knight had to deal with a psychotic dark mage while going on a mission at the same time. The knight listened as the man explained how the Turks were a frequent of the brothel, unsurprising really, even a bunch of vandals had numerous urges of the body to fulfill. the blond crossed his arms and listened as the man recounted the events regarding the chimes and the disappearance of the woman. Speaking of women though, the wallflowers remaining in the brothel were probably going to be their best bet when it came to finding the Turk's hideout and striking at their heart. The blond watched as a cluster of the pleasure girls threw themselves at Rhevas, clinging to him like a child clings to its mother- it was an almost sickenign sight, you could call Cyrus stuffy or pure or whatever- but there was something about the idea of prostitution and selling one's body which the man detested at his very core. Thus, he decided to simply let Rhevas be the intermediary between the knight and the female 'workers' as they tried to get to the bottom of this. Upon being asked, one of the rather tired looking women would speak, "Yeah- I've heard of 'em, I gotta' regula' who comes every other day practically- he's a ruff one but he talks for days!" one of the prostitutes said, giving a lazy gaze over to the unamused looking knight standing behind Rhevas, "Yer lookin' for 'em aren't chya?" she said, her slurring words and poor pronunciation putting the blond on edge. "My toy says they're holed up in an old warehouse on the east side'a town, you won't make it five feet in tho- theres more there than just a buncha angsty teens with low stamina. I heard they've got some help from some out-of-towners" she said, chuckling somewhat as her last addition seemed to be knowledge acquired more from experience rather than from sleuthing. Still, the information would have to do. "That'll do" the blond said, nodding to Rhevas, "Lets go" he said before finally leaving the filthy establishment and returning to the slums of Oshibana. The walk wasn't too far, after a few minutes or so they'd find themselves out in a more sparsely populated area full of run down buildings and ruined streets overgrown by plants and whatnot. It was here they'd find a simple warehouse sitting, seemingly devoid of all life from the outside. This as the hideout of the Turks, it was about time they started dealing with this problem directly. |

Rhevas blinked a few times as he looked back and forth between Cyrus and the girl clinging at him. He may have had certain moments of encounter of her kind, but he didn’t like this overly clingy one. No finesse whatsoever. And he felt like he wanted to peel her off just so he could leave, and fortunately for him, Cyrus agreed with that idea and they would have to bid the women farewell. Leaving them was such a relief and he was glad they did it hastily. Of course, the other reason for having to leave fast was because they had to reach the warehouse quickly else they might move. With the event in the brothel, they might have heard of their presence within the city, especially when the one who disappeared happened to be a snitch. “Yosh!” he nodded to the knight as they were off to go Turk-hunting. Perhaps this was his favorite part of the mission, hunting. They would soon reach the outskirts where the warehouses were placed and they would find less of the people of Oshibana Town. But they would have to keep their guards up since this gang could have more members than they know. And looming warehouse in the distance, together with some very accommodating overcast sky, it looked to be quite appropriate atmosphere for a battle. “Cyrus, can ayer?” he would say as he had already summoned his fiery whipblade, curling along his dominant arm. |

Cyrus stood in front of the warehouse with Rhevas, the two of them were ready to rumble, the cold chilly wind that was sweeping through the overcast evening sky was setting up the scene for a roboding battle. The knight may have had a broken arm, but he still had a lot of fire in him- the doctor and his demands for 'taking it easy' could wait, the knight had a mission and that called for him to come out of the gates kicking and screaming. Rhevas was still the stronger between the two easily though, and perhaps that was a good thing, the man had a finesse for battle which Cyrus didn't quite have the constitution for. Thus when the man asked if he could make a dramatic entrance, the knight shrugged, "Please, by all means" he said, gesturing to the simple sliding metal door which served as the main entrance to the expansive warehouse. Once Rhevas had busted the door down, the two could enter into the lions den. The two men rushed into the warehouse expecting a battle, yet, were rahter confused by what they saw. There was a group of vandals, the Turks, all talking amongst themselves- yet there was now a second group here, one which seemed to be in some sort of negotiation with the group. These foreigners had an aura of evil magic about them which Cyrus instantly recognized, "Cultists?" the knight said to himself as the two parties in front of them turned their attention towards the newcomers who had obviously just barged into something bigger than just a few vandals pray-painting graffiti. Indeed, the rebels seemed young, the oldest was no more than seventeen perhaps, they dressed in beat up clothes one might expect from the average mercenary or thug, yet for the most part they seemed rather wet behind the ears. One of the cultists lazily gestured towards the two men, speaking to the rabble, "Well there you are, two more sacrifices" the lead cultist said, causing the Turks to momentarily hesitate before looking at the two men who had discovered their hideout. Cyrus clenched his one good fist, he had had more than enough experience with cultists to know how they worked and how merciless they were. "So then, I take it those disappearances around town have to do with you then?" Cyrus announced, his black sunglasses glimmering against the dim lighting. "Indeed, it's all just good business I'm afraid- now if you please, we're going to need your souls now... Although form what I can tell, we might have gotten away with a bargain according to this one here" the man said as a grin creeped up his face, turning his attention to Rhevas as he seemed to be aware that there was more than just one soul living withing the dark mage. With that, the Turks attacked, all twenty of them. |

Rhevas gave his most genuine smile of happiness for a battle after a very long time of being grounded for his more troublesome ways. Thus, with a hearty saunter down towards the metal shutters for a door, he took no effort at all to kick them, denting them and then busting them aside, sending both flying back as if sliding was no long an option. But as he released his fiery whipblade to scorch the ground, he was quite surprised when he saw what was inside. Immediately, something bad was burning from within. He didn’t care for their conversation or Cyrus’ warning of cultists. He breathed their scent in the air and he was boiling for a showdown... again. When was the last time he had to kill those damn wanna-be-gods of demons? Not too long ago. He hurled his whipblade at the incoming Turks, hoping to sweep them aside and if some had indeed come close enough he had unleashed his cromarian sword to do his bidding. The complex mechanism of the swivel blade opened and fitted the blade correctly within milliseconds before he turned on his heels and led the raging blade catch the flesh of the assailant without bothering with seasoning. All blood tastes the same anyway, and though he was uncertainty about any rules about not killing the Turks, he was certain the authorities wouldn’t mind one or two of them being armless... Hey, that’s what you get for vandalizing! So he did his best to render these thugs incapable of doing any more of their rather personalized graffiti messages by making sure they wouldn’t be able to, but the cultists were different. He had a thing against them and so he wouldn’t mind having to chop off their heads if he had to. It might land him another long aggravating senseless grounding with his guild superiors but he knew he couldn’t just keep it all inside him when his demons wanted to have a go at them. So the moment he went past the last of the Turks in that first wave (there could have been a few who may have dodged them if they were lucky enough after all and were pressing for a retaliation), he kept going beyond the Turks and released a green-like flame from the ground before him. Immediately, a pale-hooded being erupted from the flames with some fancy looking feathery decors around his cape before the jewel pendant he held began to spark green flames that suddenly engulfed its body. The transformation was quick as large crows emerged from his flaming body to the last fire, and were now shooting fast towards the cultist up front. techs used

Cyrus watched the fight unfold, the Turks had all charged the two men head on. Not a bad move on their part, Cyrus was injured and only had one good arm working at the moment- although only one or two recognized Rhevas as he charged towards the crowd, a dark mage such as him had a reputation after all. Naturally, a small portion of the Turks had split off from the main group and aimed to try and take down Cyrus seeing as how he was the weaker between the two. Rhevas was busy having funsies by slashing into the group of armed men while Cyrus merely regarded the 5 who had approached him with mild disdain. "5 men on one guy with a broken arm?" Cyrus asked, raising an eyebrow as the poorly armed Turks approached them. They held basic weaponry, clubs and steel pipes mostly- they were just a bunch of grunts after all, men that even a Private level knight could fell with ease. The blond still decided to make things intresting regardless, "-that's not a fair match-up at all" he teased, pretending to be serious in the fact that five Turks were ganging up on one knight. One of the goons gave a droopy girn as he flicked out a switch-knife, "Sorry m8, just good buisness- being fair ain't a part of the job descripti- oh I'm not talking about fair for me, I'm talking about fair for you" Cyrus interuppted, his voice growing somewhat deeper as his grin faded away into a look of solemn seriousness. The goon hesitated for a moment before frowning and going, "Wat" Cyrus took his good arm and put it in the sling. "There' now its an even fight" he said- was he seriously intending to fight five armed men with only his legs? The Turks didn't seem to mind, they had zoned out the carnage going on in the background regarding Rhevas and their comrades. They chuckled to themselves before attacking the knight. The blond simply stood there, a small smile creeping up the corner of his lips, he was being far too cocky for his own good- but to be honest, he got that privilege once and a while with how stuffy and boring he could be. The first goon came at him with a baseball bat but missed his swing badly, losing balance comically as he did so- a swift kick to the head of the bent over man sent him sprawling out onto the concrete floor of the warehouse. Another goon tried to circle around the knight and stab him with a broken beer bottle, Cyrus looked over his shoulder at the man and kicked directly behind him, crashing his foot into the poor sod's man purse and causing him to follow suit regarding his previous comrade. The mission objective said that they had to arrest at least 3 Turks, it never said they had to be in good condition... The goons momentarily hesitated and jumped back, watching as the man had easily taken down two men with only his legs. During this brief pause, the knight could see Rhevas had defeated the other Turks and was now turning his attention to the cultists. The man had launched some sort of spell at the leading cultist, but the older man simply put up his hand and created a green shield which negated the effects of the spell. As Rhevas hammered away at the cultists, the man would glance to all the Turks Rhevas had taken down. "Well then, I suppose one must do with what resources they can acquire" the man said before extending a hand out towards the group of unconscious or nearly dead men on the ground. A green light seemed to swirl around them like miasma, a scream soon came from further inside the dark warehouse followed by a large breeze and the sound of wind chimes- a pattern which both men knew all too well by now. Just like that, the unconscious Turks all disappeared, not a single trace of their existence still remained. "Johann, Friedrich- keep these two muts here, the Well is almost full" the leading cultsit said before heading down a nearby trapdoor into what seemed like a basement. Now only two cultists stood in the way of Rhevas, although the way in which they regarded the dark mage was with a mixture of pity and contempt. One of them spoke softly, "Goodbye then" before making a brief set of hand signs and causeing a large purple portal to open above his head. From this portal a massive 25 foot tall demon emerged, roaring and hitting the ground running (quite literally i'm afraid) at Rhevas, its maw stretched open and its sharp teeth aiming to swallow the dark mage whole! There was a good reason why Rhevas hated cultists so much. In that they did as they pleased with their victims and henchmen alike. This particular lot was no different. The knocked out Turks had disappeared as soon as that chime echoed following a scream. Rhevas knew what was to happen next and tried to stop them but failed. To make matters worse, the remaining cultists who played wall for the fort had summoned a demon that was quite ugly, terribly ugly and angry that it was charging head-on (or mouth wide with baring fangs) at him. Immediately, Rhevas jumped aside, just barely making it out of the way. Thankfully, such a large beast had large steps that he was so lucky to not have been stepped on because of the space. And he rolled along the floor before he picked himself up again and then throwing a dagger to the back of the demon’s head, sticking like a sore thumb. It might seem futile to the cultists at hand, but it would come in handy for Rhevas. As the beast, fueled by his momentum of the run, was about to charge at the rest of the Turks and where Cyrus was at, he had to do something to stop them from turning into pancakes, or maybe mushy snacks with indulgent ketchup. So he briefly glared at the cultist before he made for a run towards the said demon, a strange aura filling up his person and before they knew it, he now looked like an armored basilisk demon knight. With the increase of power from allowing his demon to possess him, Rhevas would at least be able to prove a match for the said beast. Still, he had one more thing to do. He grabbed hold of the twin dagger left on his back belt, and poured his power to activate its magic. Almost instantly, he was teleported to the back of the demon’s head, where he clung by the dagger embedded on its skull, and he pulled hard as if to steer the said demon away. And once he did manage to steer it away, he would wrestle it from behind, pounding punch after solid punch at it. The fiery whip blade that curled along his arm acted like an extra layer of hurt for each strike. tech used Bell’s Tactics’ Ability

Cyrus could only glance for a few seconds as the cultsits summoned what looked like a giant basilik of some kind. The men had caused the knocked out Turks to vanish, much in the same ritual as the two had heard of earlier! Such evidence was enough to prove that the Turks were indeed in league with the cultists, their actions growing from grass roots vandalism into major league crime. Perhaps it was simply a stroke of luck that place Cyrus and Rhevas on the job during this little negiotiation, but regardless the two had more than enough evidence to convict the juvenile delinquents who wanted to try and be big kids. The knight knocked out the remaining Turks as events rapidly unfolded. The man saw the creature charge towards him and the group of unconscious vandals- if the knight had had his sword perhaps he could have thought of something on his feet, but with a broken arm and not a lot to work with he was entirely at the mercy of fate. Luckily, Rehvas was the kind of guy who took fate and other such matters into his own hands, he tripped up the basilisk and lept up onto its back, impaling its head with his weapons and in short, causing it unmeasurable pain. The blow to the back of the creature's head seemed to do the job, the thing began to swobble on its massive legs. If the thing had been a tree then surely a lumberjack would have been yelling, 'Tiiiiiimmmber!' right about now. The basilik wobbled before giving out one last whimper and ungracefully falling onto its side with a thud. After hitting the ground, the demon would begin to dissovle back into the corrupt magic from whence it was formed. The blond looked down at the 5 remaining Turks that had somehow been ignored by the cultist's spell- perhaps there was some sort of limit to how many people could be captured at once? No matter, Cyrus tied their arms together and bound them to a nearby pipe, they'd be stuck there until the two men came back to fetch them. In the meantime, they had bigger problems to deal with. Cyrus looked at the trap door which the cultist leader and his posse had descended down into. The knight let out a soft, "Hmmm" before looking at where the knocked out Turks had been before they got snatched. "That guy mentioned a 'Well of Souls', considering that they've been kidnapping people- I doubt that such a matter could be trivial nor humorous" he said, scratching his chin before looking back to Rehvas briefly. "Well, Tally ho" he said, walking over to the hidden entrance to the dark tunnel. |

Rhevas looked back at Cyrus, glad that he survived the ordeal. Still, having to tie up the unconscious Turks seemed like a weird habit of his. He wanted to tease the other for t being so similar to a certain fetish he’d discovered among relationships but opt not to. And he looked back to where the cultists had run off to, both him and Cyrus pretty much eager to follow suit. “Diz not first time to jump into black hole,” Rhevas would say as they looked at the trapdoor and only an endless pitch black plummet could be seen. In fact, it was almost certain that those three would have to have went further down to truly discover what was in store for the pursuers. So he nodded to Cyrus in reassurance before they would jump into it. Immediately, he had summoned his fiery whipblade to coil around his arm, warming up the air slightly as well as providing a little bit of light as they would fall into the unknown. In any case, Rhevas was well prepared to hurl it out as soon as they would feel any form of threat. And from the words of that retreating figure from earlier, he seemed very much in a hurry to get to finishing whatever was needed for their cult. And the shaft of the trap door would surprising end so quickly and the two would drop onto a large cavern of some sort. With little light coming from torches lit to the walls, there was but a silent path before them. It pretty much screamed like a trap, but the voices echoing from further ahead was also confirmation of their right path. “Ayer can sense demon scent,” he warned Cyrus, though should it have been a completed ritual or not was not yet certain. But it did feel as though a connection between this world and the demons was underway to completion at the very least. tech used
