Poinsettia was a town known for its remarkable Butterbeer. In fact, that was what lured Rhevas to this part of the country. Despite the on-going shenanigans with the demons, he was still curious about the different tastes and delicacies of Fiore. One such delicacy was the butterbeer for which after tasting one that was brought back by a fellow guild member in the not-so-distant past, he soon realized that there were many other breweries of the sort in Poinsettia. So off he went. Little did he know that the moment he arrived in town, he would be bombarded by other delicacies as well. One particular tempting invitation was from the luscious chocolate store that showcased the many bricks and ganaches and cakes all covered in different colors of chocolate. Instantly, the chocolate-lover in him had pulled Rhevas to enter the store and forget all about the butterbeer. Heck, he’d rather drown in intoxication with those ale chocolates than butterbeer. Now the sad part of the story was when he realized that this was no ordinary chocolate store. It was a confectionery and one of the 5-star establishments there was in Poinsettia. It boasted of its large building, with three levels of varying chocolate displays and cookeries. And even the tiniest bit of brick was almost a million jewel itself. It was clear as crystal that he would have to rob this place if he were to truly taste every bit of those delicious tempting goodies. The solution.... “What to work here? We’re kind of short on hands, actually. And this is the month full of events too. So, how about it, handsome?” the lady clerk said with a wink as she may have noticed the apparent drool on his face when he was staring at the decadent chocolate cake for far too long. “Ayer gets to eat?” Rhevas asked. “Of course! Not to mention I’ll have to whip your ass into baking a lot. So, how about it?” “Deal!” And so begins his chocolate adventure. |

Daine glared through the glass window, having to take a few steps back every so often as to wipe away the fog from his breath forming upon it. His eyes were gleaming and one could almost expect stars to burst from them; as painful as it would have been for the young werewolf, it would have given everyone else a clear representation of what he was thinking. Without much thought, he lowered himself to his haunches to look at the bottom self of the display case joining a child down there who had the same bemused look as himself at the edible delights out of reach behind the grubby finger marked glass. “I’m going to get in there and have a statue made of me entirely out of chocolate.” Daine said, almost fist pumping the air in excitement, it was the perfect way to show the world how cool and sweet he was, and he was sure everyone would love it. “That’s stupid. What you should do is stuff yourself until you burst.” The kid said, looking at Daine for a moment before gluing his eyes back on the prize in front of him. “Trust a fat kid to think of that, no you need to savour it, and I will tell you it tastes ten times better when you get it free.” The werewolf was off, he had challenged himself to do something and no fat kid at the window was going to talk him out of it. “I could do with a theme song, or a side kick.” He said, looking at the boy, whose face suddenly changed from anger to delight that this almost-adult was going to include him. “If you find someone who fits…” Snickering for a moment at his own wording he waved his hands from side to side in a dismissive manner. “Just try not to eat them, ‘kay kid.” Daine said, chuckling to himself as he pushed open the door to the shop. The air was laced with sugar, he was getting a rush just breathing, Daine very rarely was able to get his hands on sweet stuff besides himself, and when he did, he liked to savour it. Licking his lips he headed over to the counter and quickly got about to trying to sway the situation into his favour. “I’m looking for someone sweet enough to make a life size statue of me, totally chocolate with all the added extras.” He said, paying less attention to the people who worked in the shop as to trying to wind innuendoes into his lines, adding a wink to the female customers. “It won’t just be the statue that will make you lick your lips.” Daine finished, hoping his one-two would knock them off their feet. |

Rhevas managed to land the job, so the boss got him back to the kitchen where he was transformed into a baker... in training. He had to leave his jacket and other things by his locker before he was given a white baker’s jacket to wear. Though he was told not to bring along weapons and stuff, he still managed to his twin daggers at the back of his belt, where they were perfectly hidden underneath the long baker uniform. Lastly, he was to don a red kerchief-like scarf around his neck to add to the touch. But even if he looked like a well-known baker at face value, compared to the others with the black and blue uniforms, he was pretty much the new guy. He was tasked to do inventory for the moment so he was placed outside the kitchen to start counting the pastries all around the shelves. He thought it was a trivial job and was about to argue, but then he saw the real reason behind it when he noticed some women were following him around. Some even decided to ask him about the pastries that he was counting. And instructed with quite a few sentences to entice the customers, he would speak in a husky voice, “They are all delicious. You should try them.” And the women fawned and got the other clerks to quickly pick their selections and ready for eating on the second level where the cafe was at. “Good job!” the boss would say, appearing suddenly behind him, complete with a thumbs up and a humming sound. Rhevas managed to raise a brow before it finally dawned into him. Perhaps his job was to simply assist in selling, that is to say, to lure the women with his charms. Not that he cared. So long as he would be able to have free cakes later, it was a fair deal. Heck, he’d even go around without his top if needed. In any case, just as he going into his next rounds along the first floor, a strange customer entered and declared such a strange statement that he had to go over all the words he’d learned so far in order to understand. But he glared at this man, along with the fat kid and without so much of a word, he would grab the said duo and throw them out the front door with ease. Patting dust off his hands, he would say, “No place for youz.” before he would turn and enter the confectionery shop again, earning a bit of praise from their rich clientele who weren’t so excited to see that people of no taste (from the looks of it) had dared to enter the shop. |

Finally. A day off. Or so he thinks for now. Though he plans to resume duty in maybe a couple ay from now, he'd rather not leave far from Poinsettia as he would have to probably check into the guild for something. So what better idea to celebrate his lazy than to go find something to eat! He can walk across Sanzibar unfazed by any need to eat but the moment he steps out he feels like he's starving. -WIP- |
