Embodiment of Pandemonium/Aspect of Sacrifice
|
A round about way was necessary. After the debacle that had occurred within the walls of Crocus, Arianna, and himself, had been forced to flee for their lives. Though they would have been able to take quite a few guards and Inquisitors down with them, their true opposition had been Rhevas. Now, Zeph had never had much of a liking for the man, but he did understand why Rhevas had acted the way he had. Although Arianna could not see that this act of betrayal had been the only way he could have helped them, Zeph would hold to that truth, though it would not change anything in the end. Despite their fleeing, under the cover of chaos, and Rhevas collapsing an entire city street to drop them into the sewers, it would seem that they, specifically, had become wanted by the Inquisition. Though no one had evidence that even mildly suggested the two of them had connection to the demon worshiping cult, they were guilty merely because of their blood, and unwillingness to back down when threatened. The road from Crocus had been hard, knowing that they were being hunted, but thankfully, it seemed that word of them had not spread, and so, they had been able to travel unbothered, though they had not dared stay in an inn out of fear of being caught in their sleep. Finally, they arrived here. It was odd for Zeph, being back in Tully Village. This was the first place had had come to after awakening. The inn, that they where heading to, had been the one that he had worked at, for a place to stay. Thinking back aside from know the inn from it's structure and the shape of it's sign, he was unaware as to what it was called. Back at the time, Zeph had not possessed the ability to read human writings, and thus, was not able to comprehend the sign that had rested over the door. Though most would have found this trouble, Zeph merely took it as a reminder of where he had start, as to where he was now in life. He had grown a great deal as a human, but in the end, he was the same demon from Incendia. Fighting against the powers that ruled this realm, it was beginning to feel as though he had never left home. Pulling himself out of his thoughts, he glanced to Arianna, to check on her. In the evening light, shadows played across her face, but he could still make her face out. "You know. This is the village where I decided on my human name. Zeph Erez; a name that allowed me to be a new person, but retain some of who I was before," He wasn't sure if it would help her, but it was at least something to talk about while they made their way towards the inn. They had not spoken directly for a few days. At first Zeph had remained silent in order to let her work through what had happened, but now he was beginning to worry about her. In no time at all. They came to the inn. Glancing up at the sign, for the first time, he knew it's name: The Devil's Haven |

Arianna had never before found herself on the run for her life, it was something she'd never expected things would come to but here she was, on the run from the inquisition, not because she'd done something wrong but simply because her mother was a demon and had passed on demonic blood to her. It made Ari angry, the fact that she was forced to flee for nothing more than the fact that she had inherited ears and a tail from her origins. She had wanted nothing to do with this whole thing yet here she was, in Tully Village with Zeph, the only one it seemed she could trust, facing the uncertainties of their future. It was odd to her, seeing this place after their escape in Crocus. It seemed calm somehow, peaceful. Thankfully, it seemed like word of them had not reached this place (yet). She heard Zeph speak, saying that this was where he took on the name of Zeph Erez and she had to wonder if this place could be a chance to start over, to forget what had happened and moved on but if she was going to move on, she needed something to symbolize a fresh start. "Perhaps this is the place where things can start fresh. Although if that's the case, I may require a quick costume change." She couldn't help the small, hollow laugh that escaped her lips. she'd calmed down a lot since the incident in Crocus however she was still angry. She'd never been one to forgive easily, in fact, it was very rare that she ever forgave someone unless it was only an accident. She'd given her heart to Rhevas but she'd been a fool for being so naive. She should have known he'd hurt her, should have trusted Zephs judgement more as he had more experience than she at judging peoples purposes. He never seemed sidetracked by human emotions and it sometimes made the half-demon feel a certain envy for him. If only she weren't constantly bombarded with emotions, would life be easier? Would it be easier if she didn't feel this guilt that ate her up from within or this anger that threatened to consume her if she didn't let it out at some point? She scented the air, curious as to what kinds of people were around them, and sighed, nothing of interest that she could detect. "So what are we doing here exactly Zeph-Sama?" she asked, using Fiorean so as not to arouse suspicions of them in a place where, for the moment, they were relatively safe. |

Ever since he heard about the demon inquisiton Vali had found himself obessesing over possible leads, leads that would allow him to hunt down the so called Demon Cult that looked to reak havock in Fiore by unleashing a literal hell on the world. Vali wasn’t present for the events that took place in Fiore when the forces of a great demonic army invaded Fiore and attacked several cities all over Fiore. Growing up near a village of demons and having more or less a blood link to a demon emperor Vali felt some way about these Demons attacking, he also felt some way about missing out on such a fight with a demon, it was a chance for him to prove that his bloodline wasn’t just a simple joke. He travelled from town to town looking for any sort of information he could gather on the cults that were seeking to ressurect the Demonic Apocolypse that almost destroyed all of Fiore. Vali had to choose different places so he could sniff out a decent trail to follow. The latest adventure brought him to Fiore’s capitol for a bit of fun, especially at the museum located in the city. There he had to deal with a rather unseenly kind of fellow and it wasn’t long after that little mess that he heard the news from some of the locals that there had apparently some sort of girl who seemed to have some sort of ties to demonic powers. He didn’t have too much detail on the situation but he did hear that the person who had ties to demonic power was a girl. From the sources Vali managed to locate this girl was not a young girl but more like a young woman between the ages of 18-20, she had pale blue hair. Vali gathered other bits of information on her as well as the man she had ran with and they were ran outta town real quick after whatever event happened she had apparently ran west, looking to get center most of fiore. Vali left Crocus by horse drawn carriage with a map of the surrounding area and after reading while being pulled by carriage and by process of elimination he figured his best bet to finding the demon girl would to go to a place where they would need to rest for a little while in a small area, maybe a small populated area. ”I’m willing to bet if i were to check Tully Village i would find something of interest there “ he said to himself and that is when he knocked on the window nearest the driver ” Hey boss, if we were to go into Tully and I were looking for something devil or demon related where would you recommend I start “ Vali asked. ” now there young feller, you wouldn’t be apart of that inquisition that seems to be rounding up all the help they can get their hands on?” the driver asked curiously to which Vali had to chuckle ”I won’t say that I am exactly with the inquisition, but all the same do you have an answer for me? “ he asked once more to which the driver took a second and initially answered with a “hmmm” like sound. Vali sat back in his seat and put his arms behind him along the seat waiting to hear what the man had to say. well there is a small inn located in town called The Devil’s Haven, that could be a place to start if you wanna go off of name sakes, that is about a minute or two walk eastwards from where I am going to be letting you off. Vali smirked with this answer ”sounds like just the kind of place I may be looking for “ he decided and closed his eyes for the remainder of his ride. After about a half an hour he arrived in Tully village and made his way off the carriage and stretched out his arms and tossed the driver some extra Jewel as a tip for his information. Vali looked towards the east and followed the street’s course for about a minute or two and that is when he saw the sign on a bulding called The Devil’s Haven. ”Well there it is, whether or not the girl is here or not, there is a good chance I can find even better leads on cult activity there “ he said as he approached but soon he noticed standing outside of the Inn were two people, one man who was as tall as Vali was with red hair, and then a shorter girl with blue hair. Vali walked up casually to them not sure how to go about it but he needed to make contact, so as soon as he made it up to the door he stopped right next to them. ”It’s a wonder how they are still in business, with a name like their’s it’s a wonder that the inquisition hasn’t tried to round everyone up for questioning “ he said as he turned his eyes to both of them. ”So do you mind telling me what exactly happened in Crocus? “ he asked |

Zeph's eyes were drawn away from the inn's sign as Arianna questioned the purpose of coming to this place. He wasn't a hundred percent sure if she meant the inn or coming to the village itself. He felt it best to simply answer as though she was speaking about the inn itself, as it was what really held a significance to him. "The owner of this inn was very kind to me when I did not know who I was, and knew nothing of this world. Knowing Owner, this will be a safe place for us, for a time. Though the name is less than to be desired, we should be safe," He smiled briefly at Arianna before turning his attention back to the inn. No sooner had he finished speaking, a man approached the two of them. The moment he approached, Zeph's orange eyes went from their usual, half open with boredom, to narrowed with suspicion. At first, he came across as simply a curious bystander. However, no sooner had his inquiry about the business before them, his eyes turned to them and he asked about the events that had taken place in Crocus. This merely confirmed his suspicion, and in reaction, he attacked. Reaching across, Zeph grasped the hilt of his hidden blade, within the parasol and tore it free, slashing at the mysterious man. As he moved, his eyes widened, burning and filling with murderous intent. His demon blood screamed at him to eliminate this threat to their safety, to protect Arianna. Zeph would kill this man, watch the spark of life fade from his eyes and his blood run like free-flowing water. "Die Inquisitor!" He growled, baring his teeth like an animal. Unlike Arianna, he was not plagued by human emotion, but at the price of a stronger destructive instinct. Edited by Morti, Mar 12 2015, 10:28 PM.

She nodded at his answer before she heard someone new inquire about the events in Crocus and she was astonished by the violence with which Zeph reacted. She tried to put an arm out, intending to keep him from injuring this person who had eavesdropped on their conversarion and she gazed at Zeph. She was surprised by his reaction but she had to admit, it was kind of called for after the events that had taken place. "Zeph-sama, wait, we don't know what his business here is. I know we're both on edge from Crocus but we can't be attacking people out of the blue. He has done nothing yet to harm us." she said, trying to be reasonable. As much as she didn't trust this new comer, she would prefer if they didn't have to kill anyone right now. She turned to the stranger, offering a suspicious and cautious look. "May I inquire what is your business here?" she asked, switching into Fiorean. Her right hand reached for her sword instinctively but she kept it sheathed for now. Should he prove to be a threat, they would deal with it but for now, she wanted answers. |
