It was a normal day in Jason. He was running a tight shift in his bar, he had just opened and already he was packed. He filled up a cup and slid it across the bar top to the person who had ordered it. The game was on LV (lacryma vision) it was the Poinsettia Hawks vs the Magnolia Pistons. A fun game of magic ball, such a violent and yet satisfying sport. The Hawks were up and were driving. The bar was abuzz with the sound of fans chatting, be them for the Hawks or be them for the Pistons, it was a lively place.

Jason watched as the Hawks running back broke out from under a pile, using some pretty interesting magic, and made his way to the end zone. A Pistons defender was in hot pursuit, and was catching up to him, he was about to cross the goal line when the defender reached out and grabbed his jersey.

That's where the fun ended.

The show cut out and changed to a news station. Below the news anchor was written "Emergency Alert" in flashing red lights. The crows booed and sighed in disappointment, disappointment that their regularly scheduled program had been interrupted for news.

"We bring you this news straight from Era, home of the magic council"

The anchor women spoke into the mic, not bothering to pardon herself for interrupting the game.

"As many of you know after the demon invasion a few months ago, Fiore's best minds have been searching for the cause of these attacks, the answer a cult full of demon worshipers"

She paused as if to add dramatic effect. Those words had sent the bar into an uneasy silence.

"According to the magic council, these cultists have been hiding in plain sight, living amongst us as friends, acquaintances, and maybe even family"

What ever uneasy silence that had held the bar was gone, it was as if somebody had shattered the silence, and it dove them into an air of danger. Everybody in the bar eyeballed each other, the air was tense, the atmosphere was one that threatened violence at any moment.

"In an attempt to root out these cultists the Magic council, the guild masters, and the knights have all decided to take action. They have issued a statement to any knights, and mages who may be listening, ordering them to hunt down these cultists, hunt them down with extreme prejudice"

Jason looked around, and made no quick movements, everybody in the bar looked tense, as if they were snakes ready to strike. Jason sighed, this was a horrible idea, to reveal this information to the public was a risky choice, it could mean the collapse of society itself, riots would undoubtedly break out in the streets, people would use the chaos for their own gain. If the government trusted people to do the right thing they were fools, blind fools.

"They are calling this, 'The Inquisition'"

Shit, this was a horrible idea, the war with the demons had created hate towards all demons, now it had sparked a sort of civil war inside Fiore. Fiore had enough problems with out these cultists, they still couldn't get a handle on their dark guilds. Jason was lost in thought and didn't realised what was forming around him.

"HE'S A FUCKING CULTIST"

The shout shocked Jason out of his thought, he tuned to examine the scene. A man was gripping a beer bottle tightly by the neck of it, and standing over an old man who looked frightened.

"YOU FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT, I'LL KILL YOU RIGHT NOW FOR THE GOOD OF THE COUNTRY"

Jason couldn't move fast enough. The man smashed the bottle over the old mans head, and jumped on to the limp body, and started to stab it repeatedly in the neck with the broken glass. Jasons heart beat loudly, he grabbed a bottle of whisky and threw it at the man, it smacked him in the side of the head, knocking him out cold. The bar once again feel into silence, but only for a heartbeat. The silence was but a moment, but lasted an eternity, a silence that foreshadowed chaos.

The bar broke out into a huge stampede, people rushed to the door, running over anybody who got into their way. Jason looke dout the window, and saw some crazy shits going down in the streets of Fiore, all hell had broken loose.

I don't even know.
//I don't get it, why don't they just punch the guy in front of em...?// Leaning over a table as he gathered the dishes from the last patrons, Jaxus wiped down the table clean as he kept an eye pointed towards the LV set. "I should talk to Jason bout' turning on an MMC match sometime..." Ah. The simple wonders of Mixed Magic Combat. Two men beating the bloody tar out of eachother with magic, and even sometimes without. Truly, the sport of kings. Though, mainly, Jaxus just didn't have the attention span for magic ball, but he admitted it held a minor interest as well. Perhaps this was due to his life in the country, after all, it was far too fast paced to suit many back at Snap-Dragon. Then again, so was MMC.

"Hm...?"
As Jaxus loaded up the last of the plates and cups into his carrying box, he heard the sound from the LV suddenly cut out, followed by boos and sighs, prompting him to direction his attention to the broadcast. "Aie..." Jaxus only sighed at the whole extreme prejudice part, bringing a hand to his face and shaking his head ever so lightly. Not that he was one to be talking, the moment he got his first notice, he had been tracking them down like crazy. It was the first big chance he had to get his name out there. But Jaxus also liked giving people the benefit of the doubt. Even if many of the cultists were truly evil, surely, one or two must have better motives, even if misguided. To Jaxus, it just seemed like the news was attempting to feed people reasons to hate monger, judge, and distrust others. "Typical..."

"Eh?!" Suddenly, a yell broke out in the bar, breaking Jaxus' train of thought as he looked to the scene just in time as the man bashed the older man in the head with a crack. Suddenly, Jaxus eyes shot wide open, pupils dilating to focus as his muscles tensed, feeling the thump in his heart as the event played out. "KONOO YAROUUU!" Jaxus' hot blood began to burn, causing him to rush forth to the scene. Yet, he too wasn't fast enough, and just as he approached the man, a bottle flew right over his head, causing him to jolt to a stop and duck. "WOAH!" CRASH! Hitting the cultist right in the head, he fell like a sack of bricks.

As the silence filled the room, chaos suddenly erupted as the mob charged for the exit. "OI! GO ROUND'!" As the stampede began, afew risked trampling the elderly man who had been stabbed by the cultist, forcing Jaxus to shove them off to the side whenever they got close. When it was all said and done, Jaxus was left standing over the body of the older man, stab wounds peppered across his neck as crimson fluid pooled at the floor below. "....." Falling to his knees, an odd facial twinge occurred across his mouth, shakily reaching his hand forward, yet, he didn't touch the man. He didn't want to, because if he did, he risked solidifying what he already knew. The man was probably going to die soon, if he had not already. Even amongst the chaos in the streets, a glassy, solemn look filled Jaxus eyes', in his own little world. Jaxus acted tough constantly, but the fact of the matter is, death was something he couldn't stand. Perhaps even, his innocence was his weakness, for it was obvious to any onlooker that the inability to save the man's life was having an uncomfortable effect on him.

Jason watched Jaxus. Jason dealt nothing from the mans death, nor did he feel anything from the fact that he had just killed one himself. Jason stood behind the bar in silence, he watched as Jaxus mourned for the old man, it was a sad truth that Jason had recently come to realize, he was a cold hearted person. He generally didn't feel anything for those who died right in his face, he didn't care that people did this to each other, the thought of him being cold was depressing. It looks like he could never fully stop being an assassin.

Outside shit was going down, people screamed in the streets and ran to their house, running over people who got in their way. People shut their windows and closed their doors, locked their businesses. They were all scared of the cult.

Jason just sighed, all that announcement had brought was trouble. There was no way people wouldn't panic. But that wasn't even the biggest problem.

The biggest problem was the state the announcement left people in, now they would be easy to manipulate, easy to use for ones own benefit, they would be looking for a leader of sorts, a Jesus figure who would lead them with promises of a better life, the church had used this technique many times to gain followers, it was sick but effective.

Jason clenched his fists, what would he do next? Should he just avoid conflict or go out and try to aid the people of Poinsettia, he felt a duty to them as a member as Blue Pegasus, but as a person he felt that they could fend for themselves it wasn't his problem. Once again his two sides were at war, he could never fully let go of the cold killer side of himself, but he had developed a love for people, and couldn't let go of the caring side of him, he was torn on the inside.

Jason shut off the LV, and lit himself a smoke. He didn't bother to save it, he sucked in the smoke quickly and burned the smoke to the butt. He let it fall from his mouth with the ash, and slammed his fist against the shelf behind him, causing bottles to wiggle back and forth threatening to fall.

"FUCK"

Jason shouted and pounded his fist on the counter. He kicked the counter and shook the whole thing.

"FUCK FUCK FUCK"

Jason pounded on the counter some more. He wasn't upset about the death but at himself for being so indecisive, the decision should be easy, help the people of Poinsettia, why was he even torn. Jason stepped out from behind the bar. He plopped himself down onto a stool quicky and just looked at Jaxus.

"We are going to sea ethis town, we are going to root out these so called cultists, and yank them out by their feet, and hang them by their dicks for the world to see, we are going to stop this before it even begins, WE ARE GOING TO WIN"

Jason spoke in a quiet but aggressive tone, he was angry.

"And then when we're done with these small time cultists in Poinsettia, we will go to the big ones, we won't stop ever, we are going straight to the top! We won't stop with the cultists we will rid Fiore of all of its evil, the evi, that causes people to turn away from the light, the dark guilds and dark mages that plague our streets we will crush them"

Jason looked at Jaxus in the eyes.

"TEAM BURSTING SUN STRAIGHT TO THE TOP"

Jason stood up and shouted anger in his voice. He was determined to change his life, to make the world a better place. Maybe he was just upset that he couldn't shed his old skin, but he'd use his anger for a good cause, hopefully Jaxus went along.

Jaxus saw still on the ground, looking over the body of the deceased man in a state of shock, unable to move as his hands trembled. In the backround, Jason lit a cigarette, but Jaxus didn't move. //I've been training so hard, so why was I too weak...?// Time passed for a brief moment, tears slowly forming in Jaxus' eyes, and suddenly, a loud crack echoed across the room as Jason slammed his fist into the table with a yell. "...Huh...?" Under the sound of sniveling, as if on the borderline of crying, Jaxus turned to Jason as he let out his anger before plopping down on a barstool and returning the look back at him.

As Jason started his speech, Jaxus wiped his forearm across his eyes and nose, clearing away tears and mucus as he refocused his attention to Jason. Soon enough, as Jason continued to speak, Jaxus' eyes drifted downwards to the floor, before he suddenly began to lift himself with shaking legs, clenching his right hand tightly into a fist. "OOOII! STRAIGHT TO THE TOP!" In response to Jason's speech, Jaxus rose his fist high and stood upon both feet with an ever so slight sway.

Jason stood tall, and waited for the chaos to ensue. It'd been several minutes since they had announced the Inquisition, several minutes since the man had been killed. Jason didn't know why he didn't just leave the bar and go see what he could do, he didn't know why he waited for the trouble to come to him; which it most certainly would.

In the streets of Poinsettia:

Marco sat down, his back against the side of the building. It was a perfect time for him to fulfill his plan. He was power hungry, and wanted to seize control as fast as he could. He had few followers, but for years they had been planning to take over Poinsettia, but they had never had the means of doing so. But now with this whole Inquisition business it'd be rather simple, all he would have to do was exploit the fears of the people, they'd be panicked and searching for somebody t look to as a leader, so why wouldn't Marco seize control? It was common knowledge that people who are panicked and powerless follow anybody who can give them a sense of security. They'd follow anybody who good make them promises, and make them feel in control. Marcus smiled evilly, his smile spread from ear to ear. His eyes were filled with murderous intent, he was finally going to be somebody, he was going to seize control of this town for good.

"We're ready when you are sir"

A ridiculously big man spoke as he turned the corner. The guy was clad in greco-roman style armor and stood at 8ft and had ridiculously big muscles. The man had bronzed skin and his arms were covered in nasty looking scars.

"All Right Augustus, we will move now; the time is right Augustus can't you just smell it in the air? We will take our place as the rightful rulers of Poinsettia, I WILL BE A KING"

Marco shouted at the top of his lungs, almost like he was performing a battle cry. Marco stood up, he stood at a normal height of 5'10" and was rather thing compared to Augustus. If one were to look into Marco's eyes they would know what a psycho he is right away, he was getting ready to move and things wouldn't be good.

"Oi Jaxus, grab what ever tools you need, we're gonna go out and try to keep the peace or what ever, make sure nobody kills anybody else"

As Jason spoke he walked up the stairs and into his bedroom, where Jaxus had once laid after being beaten to a pulp. Jason carefully stepped over Jaxus' futon that had been laid out on the floor, after all the kid didn't have a home so he slept at the bar with Jason. Jason walked over to his closet, and opened it up. He grabbed his black armor that had been hanging there, and picked up the helmet that was under it. Jason slipped into the armor rather easily, it was like putting on a heavily padded shirt after all. Jason tied the boots up and adjusted the gauntlets, he then went to grab the sword that was also in his closet. He hadn't wielded the sword since his days as an assassin, it brought back bad memories. Jason grabbed the blade and it's sheath and strapped it diagonally across his back. Jason picked up the helmet and slipped it onto his head, never thought he'd be using this thing again.

Jason walked down the steps and into the bar, it was time to move.

-In the city streets-

"I smell it alright.~ Smells like..." As Marco proclaimed he would be king, another figure, Antony appeared, with long, brownish red hair,, lightly tanned in color, and bearing sharp, beastial fangs in excitement as his clawed fists clenched and unclenched repeatedly. "Our time is just around the corner." The man's face twisted into a sneering grin, his oddly, sharp yellow eyes shining in the light as lightning crackled across his claws. "Where do we start then, Boss?"

"I'm eager to hear as well. This should be...fun." In a completely monotone, dry voice, another figure stepped up to the group. Standing at a height of 6'4, Brutus wore a dark trenchcloak which went down to his ankles with high rise collar, their face covered entirely in bandages, except for a single, pale, eye, perhaps signaling that he was blind in the showing eye. On top of this odd attire, he wore an odd, tall mad hatter, style hat, also black in color, making him stick out like a sore thumb.

-Back at the bar-

"Aie, gotcha.~" As Jason ordered him to grab what he needed, began to walk towards the bar as he pulled out a small flaskie, taking a bottle of scotch from the stock before pouring himself afew shot worth. Jaxus honestly didn't like drinking this much at once, but every time he had blacked out, he only remembered stories of the many people he had beaten to a pulp in his drunken wake. That said, if things got to their worst, he intended to gamble on the booze he just commandeered.

"Oi, Persies!" Soon enough, Jaxus emptied afew water bottles from the bar's stock, filling them with high potency, Magnolia 151. Placing three, filled to the brim bottles, Jaxus reached down and adjusted his belt, placing the bottles along the back side of his pants and using the belt as leverage to strap them in place. Really, he didn't think he needed these, but it could be a good way to break a fight apart through scaring someone. "CAW!" Soon enough, as Jason entered the upstairs room, Persies awoke and shot down the stairs to Jaxus, gently flapping her wings as she landed on his left shoulder. "We're goin' patrollin', Persies.~ Ya' ready girl?~" "CAW!" "Atta' girl.~" With that, Jaxus reached over to loosen the holster on his Bang-A-Rang, the weapon Santa himself gave him, ensuring it was loose and ready for confrontation if needed. Soon enough, Jason came down from the stairs, and Jaxus brought two fingers to his forehead before offering a two fingered salute, flailing his arm out to form a peace sign. "Ready.~ Oh, uh, take the expenses from my pay, right?~ Eheh.~" Jaxus chuckled slightly as he patted the plastic bottles filled with combustable liquor.

"OI HIBIKI"

Jason shouted loud enough so that his voice would reach every corner of the bar.

"No need to yell Jason. I'm right here"

Hibiki was on Jason's shoulder, how the hell did she sneak up on him? Jason didn't notice that she was on his shoulder and jumped a little when she spoke and was so close to him.

"How long have you been there?"

Jason asked a little panicked.

"Ever since you came down the steps, now let's get going we have a lot of work to do before the day is done"

Hibiki said and turned towards Jaxus and his bird.

"You should really get some armor hon' and also drink more milk you need to grow, aren't you the same age as Jason? You should be at least 5'8" at your age"

Hibiki spoke to Jaxus like he was a little kid, scolding him as if she was his mother. Jason just shook his head, it was kind of funny but Hibiki and Jaxus barely knew each other; why was she lecturing him already?

"Any way let's go, off to save this city"

Jason walked out off the front door. (Assuming Jaxus followed) Jason turned around and raised his eyebrow, which would not be visible since he had a helmet on.

"Jaxus, consider this our first team mission, and it's good to cause I just thought of the perfect name for us"

Jason paused for dramatic effect.

"Team Elevation"

Jason commented and Hibiki looked at him sideways.

"I'm part of the team right?"

"Of course you are"

A little later:

Marco gripped his megaphone, it was time to cement his place as king.

"People of Poinsettia"

Marco spoke into the magical megaphone, his voice echoing through the streets. He stood atop a wooden platform, it was almost like a stage. Augustus, Brutus, and Antony stood on the stage with him, Augustus had his sword drawn and lifted into the air.

"You should have all heard of the cult by now no? Well if you haven't there is a cult that has rooted themselves deep into our society, the person next to you may even be one of them"

People had started to gather in front of the makeshift stage, and popped their heads out of windows to see what all the commotion was about.

"Well I am hear to tell you not to worry"

Marco paused.

"I have found a way to expose these cultists"

Marco gestured towards the stage. Next to Marco laid a man, a brown bag over his head; and over the mans head hovered Augustus' sword.

"THIS MAN RIGHT HERE IS A CULTIST"

Marco ripped the bag off of his head, exposing a rather old man with a grey beard. The man looked ashamed of himself, and was staring blankly at the wooden floor.

"DO you want to know the penalty for being a cultist in my beloved town?"

Marco noded at Augustus, and down came his sword. The old mans head rolled off of the stage and into the crowed; who at first were silent, but then began to cheer. Their cheers were full of fear and hatred, they were being manipulated by this man; why would they ever trust a man like Marco? Well it was simple really, because he had power, and power was all that mattered in their time of need.

Marco scanned the crowed, and saw one man who wasn't clapping, but actually looked angry about the execution. Marco smirked and snapped his fingers, a bolt of fire arced from them and onto the man, lighting him on fire, while sending him flying a few feet. The man screamed in pain as the fire surrounded his body. Marco snapped again, another bolt of fire hit the man. Then again. And again. Marco continued this vicious pattern until the man was nothing but a pile of ash.

"To think a cultist would dare show his face in my city... they'll all die"

"Wai-! I...uh...ouuaah..." Jaxus raised up a finger at Hibiki's comment, pausing in his speech before he suddenly fell into a slouch, arms falling limply beside him before twisting into a defensive, cross armed position, tilting his head to the floor off to the side while nervously moving his right leg, swiveling it on the ball of his foot. "I-I'm just compact...! I'll grow somore'...!" He whined in a pouty, quiet, and surprisingly dejected tone. //I hope...// Really, Jaxus tried really hard not to think about his height, and Hibiki just threw that out the window.

"Hai, hai..." As Jason walked out the door, Jaxus quietly replied before bringing his right hand up to nervously fidget with his earlobe, eyes still cast to the ground in his distraction of being reminded by his height. "Sqwaah..." Persies let out a worried call as Jaxus slouched, nudging him on the side of the cheek as Jason began to speak. "H-Huh...?" As Jason mentioned this as a team mission, Jaxus tilted up his head as Jason said he had a name. "...Heh.~ Sounds bout' right.~" As Jason said the team name, Jaxus couldn't help the smile that creased up his face in response as Hibiki butted in, suddenly reminding him of something. "Oi, oi! That means Persies is part of the team as well, right Jason?~" "CAAAW!" Thwack! "OW!" Jaxus recoiled as Persies suddenly spread her wings in excitement, smacking him right in the face with her wings and leaving him to rub his nose with a mildly annoyed expression. "Kono Yarou..."

Jason rubbed the back of his head (helmet) in a kind of awkward silence; he hadn't gotten used to Jaxus and Persies... intresting relationship.

"Yes Jaxus, Persies is part of the team"

Jason answered Jaxus, after he had been pecked by his bird companion. Jason really hadn't a clue what they were looking out for exactly, just general chaos and havoc he guessed. Jason didn't want anything like what happened back at his bar to happen again, but it was bound to. There was no way this fragile illusion of peace would be kept as long as people were afraid. Fear almost always lead to darkness, and from darkness chaos rises. Jason had seen first hand what fear could do to people. It could make the smartest man dumb, and a pacifist into a warmonger. Fear, in Jasons eyes, was the strongest weapon. If somebody were to take advantage of the fear, and manipulate the general populace they could amass an army. Things like fear could over throw governments, indeed it was the greatest weapon of them all.

Jason hadn't said much of anything after he had answered Jaxus, he was to busy thinking about everything that could go wrong in this situation. Hibiki hadn't spoken after seeing Jaxus's embarrassment, feeling a little bad for doing that to him. Jason and Jaxus were in the middle of the street (this is an assumption) and as they walked by people shut their windows and glared at them with disdain. Jason faintly heard the roar of people in the distance, it was getting louder as he continued down the street. Off in the distance Jason could see the backs of many people, all gathered looking at what appeared to be a stage.

"This young lady right here, runs a local bath house. She seems nice enough no? SHE IS A GOD DAMNED CULTIST AND HER PUNISHMENT IS DEATH"

A flame erupted in the palm of Marcos hand. He scanned the cloud then looked back at the poor lady who was about to be put to death. He moved to flame next to her face and let it grow hotter, burning her skin. The lady whailed in pain, tears streaming from her eyes.

"I'M NOT A CULTIST, HELP ME PLEASE I SWEAR TO THE LIGHT I'M NOT A CULTIST. I HAVE A FAMILY; KIDS!"

Marco looked down at her; his eyes soulless.

"Then we'll kill them too..."

Marco kicked her in the side of the head, knocking her to the floor of the stage. He then placed his boot on her back. Augustus raised his sword, preparing to decapitate her.

Jason's eyes widened in a mixture of fear and surprise. He watched in terror as the nice women from his spa was kicked to the floor of the stage. A giant hefted his sword into the air, and was about to end her life. Jason shouted almost automatically; interrupting the ceremony.

"NO"

Both Marco and Augustus paused to look at the disturbance. This was going to get real violent real soon.....

"Eheh...~" "Caw!" Jaxus let out a slight chuckle as Jason said Persies was also part of the team, let, there was something abit off in his laugh. In the back of his mind, he was still thinking about the man who died in the bar, but he knew he had a job to do. No matter what, he needed to keep himself focused on the job at hand. As they walked through the street, Jaxus caught attention of the disdaining eyes staring at them, seemingly filled with hate and fear. "This is why I don't like the news, ya' know...?" Really, Jaxus felt all the news did was cover the most negative aspects of things, and in reality, this bred distrust and suspicion among people. Before long, Jaxus' ears twitched ever so slightly as the sound of roaring chaos could be heard in the distance, following Jason to what only could be described as a stage.

"E-Eh?!?!" As Jaxus viewed the scene unfold, he was reminded of the identity of this woman. She was at the bath house Jason had took him to after the first night they met, and she seemed quite kind. Yet, here she was, facing execution in the midst of an angry mob, as Jaxus watched Marco's hand ignite into fire. "Koono Yaroouu..." The cracking of cartilage could be heard as Jaxus' right fist tightly clenched up, his passion quickly turning into raw, unfiltered rage as he viewed the scene. As the woman begged for her life, Marco so confidently declared they would kill them as well, kicking her to the side before another, second member prepared to decapitate her before Jason stopped the scene, speaking quicker than he could in his current state.

"WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!??!" Rather than directing himself to the cult members, Jaxus turned to the entire crowd, an uncharacteristically, dead set serious, grim expression upon his face, eyes filled with fury as his passion took control. "DO YOU HAVE ANY PROOF, OR YOU JUST KILLIN' PEOPLE YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW CUZ' YOU COWARDS ARE SCARED?!? RIGHT NOW, YOU'RE ALL JUST AS BAD AS THE CULT! LOOK AT YOURSELVES!" Despite Jaxus' dense nature, he was surprisingly clever enough to pick up that this group was using fear to control people, just as Jason feared would happen.

Yet, his words bit sharp and true as he attempted to make the citizens in the rally realize just how asinine they were being. Soon enough, he turned back to the group on stage. "AND YOU! WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?!" Jaxus pointed two fingers accusingly towards Marco, his teeth baring as they gritted together from the unbridled, raw emotion flowing through his body. "IF YOU DARE HURT A CHILD, I'LL BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF YOU! YOU HEAR ME?! KOONOO YAAROOOUU!" Perhaps, abit odd coming from Jaxus, who stood at 5'5 and looked like a kid himself. Yet, if Jason took notice, the look in Jaxus' eyes was far, far different than the one he gave Jason when they fought. Before, a certain lightness danced within his eyes, without hate or aggression as his right arm reached across his waist for his Boom-A-Rang. Now, the most minor of scowls forced itself across his face, with his pupils seemingly dilated in a rapid, crazed fashion as he glared towards Marco. The look said it all. He was going to do whatever it took to win.
