I don't even know.
|
Jaxus remained steadfast as the events around him unfolded, yet, despite his resolve, he so desperately fought with the moral contradiction going on in his head. Sure, he "said" he would go around Amelia, but he knew this wasn't a task he could achieve easily. But...could he really do it? Raise arms against a dear friend? If he needed, could he even make a strike? Yet and still, as Jaxus became caught in his moral dilemma, he kept his ears directed around him as Bones spoke. Soon enough, as Bones spoke of how accepting the job would hinder the guild, Jaxus surprisingly didn't say a thing, but retained his magic and directed his attention to Bones, his pupils dilated in an odd fashion as he asked Amelia if she had any problems knowing him, where Amelia responded to keep him alive, just barely, causing a certain, smug smile to spread across his face. Though, as Jaxus prepared his snappy comeback to Bones, he mentioned how a flash to the eyes could be detrimental, causing a confused expression to cross Jaxus' face, blinking repeatedly in disbelief. "I-...uh...I never thought bout' that, actually..."//Guess she cares in her own way...// Quickly as Amelia responded, Jaxus recovered from his stupefied expression with a new look of confidence. "Baakaa...~" Jaxus spoke with his attention turned to Bones, yet, his tone said this wasn't meant to directly insult Bones. In fact, it was stated in an oddly playful tone, in a fashion similar one could find when friends jested at eachother's expense. "You really think it's a guild job...eh...? Well, I already told ya'..." Suddenly, an odd grin spread across Jaxus' face as he spoke, briefly raising his shoulders as if to shrug. "I ain't runnin'...I owe ya' a fight, after all.~" Jaxus attempted to lock eye contact with Bones, his eyes dilating in a competitive glare as he shrugged off the idea of attempting to explain things to Bones. If he cared of his guild's reputation, it was only natural to believe a guild member over someone he barely knew, none the less didn't even like. Yet, this said something about Jaxus. Rather than attempting to desperately bargain, Jaxus took Bones' words to heart. He dug his pit, and he wasn't going to deny it. Alot of things could be said about Jaxus. He was loud, short sighted, impulsive, and more than abit dense, but a coward, was something he certainly was not. "Huh...?" As Jaxus prepared for the upcoming confrontation, muscles twitching, he felt a hand place itself on his shoulder, causing him to look back to find the source with a confused expression. Immediately, Jason began to dissect Amelia's lies, piece by piece. Not to mention he forgot to add that dark guilds were declared as neutral after the inauguration of King Stefan. If a "neutral guild" had accepted a job with a group who was declared as an international enemy, it was certainly a short path to losing the immense freedom they had gained. Though, it's not like Jaxus' even knew how dark guilds worked, and he knew that, leaving his analysis to himself as Jason continued to attempt to convince Bones of the situation, causing a smug grin to spread across Jaxus' face as he directed his attention to Bones, without saying a word. It was like a challenge, really. He wasn't going to say anything, he wanted Bones to deduce whether Amelia's words were truth or falsehoods, and he'd live with whatever decision they made...hopefully, anyway. "Jason...Amelia's my friend...alright...?" Jaxus looked to Jason with a saddened expression, but gave him the slightest nod. He wasn't really saying not to fight Amelia, but rather, he was requesting Jason kept him in mind if he fought Amelia. If two of his dearest friends ended up killing one another...Jaxus couldn't bare the thought. But soon enough, the moment exploded into violence as Amelia took the initiative, kicking a pair of tables towards Jason and himself. "Jason!" Suddenly, Jaxus sprinted forward, blinking ever so briefly as he revealed gently glowing golden eyes. "NIKKOU BASUTA!" If Amelia knew anything about Jaxus, she would probably know that phrase more than any other of his. He was about to hit something, hard. "WUAAAAH!" Letting out a mighty kiyah, Jaxus shifted his weight to his left side, placing his axis on the ball of his feet. Shifting his weight and turning his left heel at a counter clockwise angle, Jaxus "spear pointed" the table as he raised his left leg to upper chest level, placing his foot parallel to the approaching table. CRACK! As the table impacted with his leg, Jaxus allowed tensionless muscles to receive the blow, using his enhanced vision of slowed time to enhance not only the speed, but the timing at which this move was attempted. As the table began to slow with his bending knee, a burst of golden spheres of light appeared around his foot, but only for a split second. As his foot was already in direct contact with the table, Sunshine Buster was activated instantly, the force of the explosion "flipping" the table and causing it to tumble with velocity towards Amelia and Vicinte. //Not done...!// Using the kick from the table, Jaxus kept his weight shifted to his left as he used the table to kick off with his right foot, turning his axis to point towards Bones and his friend, Skuzz. "Eheh!~" Cocking Bones a smug grin, it was as if he was begging Bones to attack him, should he have chosen to retain his position. Suddenly, Jaxus whipped both arms forward, using his torso's spin to accelerate the thrust as a laser of concentrated light, roughly two and a half feet in diameter was sent hurtling straight towards Bones and Skuzz's direction. "Heh..." Arms still extended, Jaxus' childish grin grew as he shifted his arms, using the laser to "sweep" the area, and in a single moment, Jaxus allowed the slightest whisper to grace his lips, his smugness growing by the second. "Boom..." Fluidly moving with the sweep, Jaxus turned on his heels to turn away from the blast, and "leaped" forward, sprawling to the ground as he covered his ears, as if awaiting something. "W-WHAT THE HELL, KID?!?!" No sooner as he said this, the bartender had placed his right arm on the bar counter and "vaulted" over the bar as he figured out Jaxus' completely insane "plan." In fact, it was a trick, all of it. Jaxus never intended to use the laser on Amelia, or Bones. Instead, if this shot went without interference, it would rocket straight towards the bar's bottle of "Magnolia 151." A heavy liquor with an alcohol volume of 75.5%. At that potency, the rum was not only flammable, but "combustable." The sweep wasn't aimed for Bones, nor Skuzz, but the shelf right behind and above them, where all the highest potency liquors had been stored, using his taunt to hopefully guide them "away" from the attack, and ensuring the blast. Only a brief second would pass before impact, and if not prevented, a heated explosion would rock the entire building, blowing a hole straight from the bar and right into the back conference room. Even as he challenged the entire hide out, Jaxus was determined. With the wide arc he created, stopping "all" of the laser was a task far easier said than done as well. When he said he was going to tear this place apart...He meant it. OOC

Fear does not exist
|
To say that the evening could have gone better was something of an understatement. The way it was heading was personally to Bones' liking: between both Jaxus and Jason trying to convince him to turn on his own guildmate, he was beyond amused. Cocking his head at Jason as he approached him, he smiled slightly. "Funny. You talk as if you run Tartaros. Like you know the ins and outs of a guild that's neither your own, nor a light guild. You'll find that we do things a bit differently." Reaching up a hand to scratch at his chin, his grin turned into a smirk. "And for a mage of Blue Pegasus, you throw around the word kill a lot. Aren't you pansy light guilds all about protecting? You using the word kill isn't too intimidating, it just makes you sound like you're full of bluster. It don't impress me much." When Jason gave the terms for his fight with Amelia, he and Skuzz exchanged looks. Still scratching his chin, Bones shrugged slightly. "That has nothing to do with anything. I'm not helping her for her strength, I'm helping her because she's apart of my guild. Though I'll tell you what you can do..." He backed up a few paces, reaching out his leg to hook a chair from a nearby table. Pulling it within his reach, he sat down on it, crossing his arms over his chest. Skuzz moved to his shoulder, his expression barely concealed mirth. He could already tell where this was going. "I'll tell you what. You've been very rude, making snide comments, idle threats, and then demanding that I help you based off of whether or not you defeat someone who might be weaker than me. And yet, I'm such a kind person, I'll give you an opportunity to redeem yourself and earn my aid. Your guild may ask that you stand. All I ask, is that you kneel. Get on your knees and beg for my forgiveness. If you do it well enough, I'll help you. But only if I think you really mean it." Skuzz chuckled as a smug expression crossed Bones face. "I'm waiting." When Jaxus stepped forward in turn, Bones looked pointedly away as he spoke. "And I told you, it won't be a fight, it'll be a beating. But the same goes for you. If you beg for my forgiveness and do it just right, I might help you." Unfortunately, it didn't seem like Bones would get to have his way. Amelia decided to start the fight, flinging a pair of tables at both Jason and Jaxus simultaneously. Letting out a sigh, Bones slouched slightly in his seat. "Well, I suppose we get to see how good this Amelia is. And to an extent, the other two as well..." Skuzz nodded, leaning against a table. The tables that Amelia threw proved to be little challenge to Jaxus, who broke one in half with a kick, smuggly grinning at Bones as he did so. "Not impressed, kid." Whipping his arms around, Jaxus fired off a wavelike beam of light towards both Bones and Skuzz. Standing to his feet, Bones smirked as he prepared to block the attack. His smile melted from his face as he realized the trajectory of the attack was too high. He only noticed that it was too high as it drew closer, sailing harmlessly over his head. This significance was lost on him at the moment, even as he heard the bartender yell something. A split second later, he realized what he was aiming for, diving forward at the exact moment that the attack struck the bottles, causing an explosion behind him. He was propelled even further forward, the entire area briefly shrouded by smoke and fire. All that he could hear was a ringing in his ears, his vision blurred slightly as he staggered to his feet. He felt a hand on his shoulder steadying him, and he glanced over to Skuzz. His companion was visibly damaged, his clothes frayed and he was bleeding from a gash on his forehead, but he seemed rather coherent. "You good?" Bones straightened up entirely, wiping some blood from his chin. "I'm fine." He kneaded his ear with a knuckle, glancing around. "All they've really done is piss me." His clothes were torn, and his left shoulder was slightly alight. He brushed the flames out, his eyes narrowed to slits. "And now they're gonna pay for it..." |

Before the Explosion: Frederick sat in his chair and watched as his comrades conversate about useless topics, it didn't matter that these mages were here to hunt them, there was no way they would possibly lose. "You know, leaving early is a bad habit of your's Byron, I suppose most people would be scared in this situation tho, you know with the big bad Blue pegasus mages here to kill us and all that nonsense" Frederick spoke with a cold passion, his eyes were serious, he rested his elbows on the table, and held his hands over his mouth, he spoke in low tones, his whole aura screaming don't talk to me. "Anyway we should cut to the chase, why are we here, is there anything that could be so important that you felt the need to in danger us by dragging us to a bar that is full of the enemy?" Frederick now spoke to the whole room, hoping to speed up this process, he really did not like some of his fellow cultists, the quicker he could go the better. Stuff Jason almost died of laughter, the hypocrisy of the man who has yet to be named was ridiculous. Commenting on how Jason talked as if he ran Tartaros, then going right around and doing the same thing Jason had done. "Funny. You talk as if you run Blue Pegasus. Like you know the ins and outs of a guild that's neither your own, nor a dark guild. You'll find that we do things a bit differently" Jason mimicked, distorting his face trying to imitate Bones. Jason watched him, the guy just sat down, and asked him to kneel. What a prick. Jason just sighed, he would of done it to, except he didn't like the man very much, nor did he find his antics amusing. Jason was frustrated by Bones response to his argument, and distorted his face in disgust. "You are mistaken in thinking I am in need of your aid in this fight, it was merely an offer to try and, lets say make things easier. But seeing as you have refused, I have this to say" Jaxus' crazy girlfriend had flung tables at them, was Jaxus into that kind of thing? Jason just shook his head and caught the table with his foot, the bottom of his shoes was against the face of the table. Jason thrust out his leg, sending the table back at Amelia. Jason then spit in Bones' direction. "Go fuck yourself" Jason quickly hit the bar floor, as Jaxus did his thing. Shit was about to get interesting. A wave of heat came first, then the force, and then the fire. Jason waited until the initial effects of the explosion were gone, and examined himself, a stray piece of wood had cut his cheek, but nothing to bad. He stood up and looked around as the ash that briefly clouded his vision fell to the ground in a snow like fashion. "Jason....We need to act now" Hibiki spoke in his ear, she was unhurt thankfully. "Yea I know, I'm way ahead of you infact" Jason ran towards Skuzz and Bones, fire burned around the area, some was very close, causing the bar to fill up with a dangerous cloud of smoke. As Jason reached them he activated his spell, Susano'o. A yellow rib cage made of light encompassed him and two arms, also made of light, stretched out, their fists forming last. Jason quickly examined the situation, the big guy that was with bones didn't seem to be doing to good. Easy prey, Jason swung his magic fist at the man on the floor, the arm was easily long enough to reach him, hell the arms could probably reach halfway across the bar. Jason used his free arm to swing at Bones, throwing a vicious backhand his way. Jason was planning on thinning their enemies numbers, right now him and Jaxus were at a disadvantage, it was pretty much them vs the rest of the bar, and Jaxus probably wasn't going to fight his girl friend. Hibiki and Jason were safe behind the rib cage, well as safe as they could be at the moment. "Jason I'm ready with all my spells, tell me when and it'll be done" Hibiki said as Jason swung his fists. "Alright if things get to dangerous I want you to hide in my pocket ok? Also we won't be needing that spell yet, save it for when we really need it" Jason said, his focus still on his two enemies. Jason (assuming the attacks landed) quickly brought his fist down on Skuzz once again, putting the spells full force behind both hits. This would be interesting... I don't even know.

-Before the Blast- "Bahahah!" Byron heartily laughed in response to Fredrick's gist, gleaming a toothy grin, cigar between his teeth to reveal a shining, golden tooth. "Not givin' me much of a choice, huh kid?~" Of course, with Fredrick making jives towards potentially fearing Blue Pegasus, of all guilds, Byron couldn't leave now. Otherwise, it wouldn't be best for appearances. Before this could pass much further, however, No'yome spoke and brought some semblence of order back to the table as Byron gave him a simple nod. "Fredrick does have a point, however..." At the end of the table, close to the barside wall was the fourth member of the group, Erenson, holding a steely, hazel gaze to the group, elbows propped on the table with his palms upright, resting upon eachother with his fingers interlocked, as if he was deep in though. With shortish brown hair and an emblem upon his shirt, he seemed notable if not in strength, his status within the group, or at least the cult as a whole. "An Inquisition has been called, my friends. knights, Dark, and Light guilds, along with many others have begun to seek us, and we've been losing ground. The meeting..." Beside the pile of notes near Erenson were three, peculiar envelopes. "Is about these. In each one, is specific requests to your individual branches. With these..." With a flick of the wrist, Erenson quickly slid each envelope across the table to the individual representatives. "We'll get all of them at eachother's throats, and we breathe easier at the same time. Elegent...no?" A brief silence filled the room, only a brief pause giving the representatives to take their orders. Sealed within, were orders for caravan raids, arson, property damage, misinformation, disinformation, and even attacks on small settlements. All meticulously detailed to ensure that dark guilds, along with afew incidents of Knight's would have the blame shoved on them. The dark guilds, recently only just deemed neutral by king Stephen's reign, would be easy targets. Knights, on the other hand, especially recruits were rather hot-blooded. It wouldn't be too out of the question for a zealous group of knights to slay afew innocents, mistaking them for cult members, right? Truly, if all of their branches succeeded, the flow of momentum could shift drastically. As Erenson slyly grinned at this thought, a sudden event interrupted the meeting. BOOM! "ARHGHGH!" "CAAAAW!" As each bottle was ignited, their temperature rose at a near equal level, as multiple blasts which erupted across the wall combined into a heated fireball of force, blowing open the entire wall and causing an avalanche of burning, heavy materials fly at Erenson from behind with velocity. As a result, he was thrown forward over the table and across the room, slamming into the wall with various, heavy injuries, seemingly knocked unconscious by the blast as blood began to seep from his mouth and nose, the scent of burning hair filling the air, accompanied by an unknown birdcall which echoed through the hallways. "W-What the...!" Byron stood up from his chair as the events unfolded, readying his guns as he waited for the debris from the blast to clear abit more. Cigar still in his mouth, he gritted his teeth, biting hard as he realized making a shot in this smoke was next to impossible, at least by sight alone as the smokes density slowly increased. "Where'd that sound come from...!?" Little did Byron know the sqwacking was not from the bar, but from the hallway, as a surprised Persies cawed in fear. -Outside the bar- As the two, odd knights roamed across the back alleys of the bar, they finally found their entrance. "Heh, knew it..." As the sergeant moved to open the doorknob, a sudden vibration shook the building as an explosion sounded within the bar. "...What in the bloody...?" "...Sarge...What was that...?" "...That's our signal to headquarters, private! Move in!" In an uncharacteristic rush of exuberance, the commanding officer "kicked" open the door with a mighty, full body straight kick, the weight of his custom civilian uniform enhancing the striking power behind the kick. "Move, move, move!" In a single moment, the Sergeant saw their chance. Whoever just caused the explosion, just gave them the chance they needed. If these fires raged out of control, knights and maybe even mages would be called to aid the rescue efforts. If they could keep the occupants busy, there was a large chance a crowd would show itself soon enough. A reckless, even selfish strategy to an extent, but it was the best the Sergeant had. -Inside the bar- Jaxus' Comeback Theme "Heh..." Jaxus sight blurred for a moment, a mild screeching ringing through his ears as he propped himself up with his arms from his face down position. Other than a minor headache, mild disorientation, and abit of dehydration, Jaxus was mostly fine after the blast. After all, as the one firing the shot, he was the first to hit the ground, and hit it just in time before the blast would have propelled him further. CRASH! As Jaxus heard a nearby window shatter, he turned around to find Jason laying in an attack to Bones and his allies, but Amelia nor the other could be seen. //This is my chance!// Dense, yes, but Jaxus wasn't a just an idiot. With him and Jason fighting four others, and two in front, he already deduced that Amelia or Vicinte had taken cover, and as he mused this, psyching himself up, his glowing eyes dilated as he brought himself to his feet, shoving his left arm back and slumping his left shoulder to allow his vest to slide off of his arm. //I ain't gonna' die here...// Using the connection to his right shoulder, jaxus whipped his body weight forward to the right side as he stood, "flailing" his vest into the air with his right hand, using the left to raise his shirt collar up above his nose. Wasting no time, Jaxus whipped the vest around his face and caught it from behind with the left hand, attempting to tie a knot all the while hoping Jason could keep Bones attention. With a tight yank, Jaxus secured his vest as a tie over his shirt, notching it at the bridge on the nose to ensure he didn't get strangled as a result. Now armed with a rudimentary, ventilation mask, Jaxus was dead set on staying in the fight. Smoke be damned! In just a single moment, a gut instinct, Jaxus had taken what was previously a four on two and sent the enemy forces into disarray and chaos. Now some were in the bar, and others had ran, separating their manpower and reducing their fighting force. Divide and conquer, as the saying goes. Unbelievably, the Legendary Idiot, maybe, just maybe had turned the tables, and the thought of this caused Jaxus body to swell with excited energy as he heard a voice call in from the room he had so rudely broken into. //Let's go!// "Jason! I'll be back!" With a quick twitch of the feet and a bunny hop, Jaxus leaned his body forward and took off in a sprint, using his eyes and perception of slowed time to attempt and minimize the noise of his movement with accurate, fluid steps all the while attempting to keep his posture low to the ground to avoid higher concentrations of the smoke and hopefully, conceal himself from Bones and Skuzz. "OI!" Suddenly, a bright flash of light appeared, golden white light piercing the veil of smoke as it suddenly began to contort and shift. "I'M NOT...!" At this point, Jaxus was long gone from the intial flash, using an explosive blast to propel himself at high speeds through the smoke, hoping that the visual chaos, combined with the threat Jason's light construct posed would prevent Bones from locating, or countering him. After all, with the window broken out of, Jaxus was assuming the other two were closer to the outside, hopefully leaving him a clean path to the meeting room. "YOU'RE LITTLE FLOWER!" Suddenly, head first, literally, head first, Jaxus erupted from the smoke cloud, spinning on axis with a powered torque, causing the smoke to seemingly trail and follow him, bolting towards No'yome like a human missle to his right side, yet, the smoke which tailed behind him would make it even to discern his exact pattern of attack. "You made me hurt my friend!" Suddenly as Jaxus approached, however, he spread out both arms and legs with a jerk, further spreading the the smoke cloud which followed his trail as he expanded his center of gravity, causing his rotational force to slow in response. However, this change would also, for a split moment, slow Jaxus' charge towards the man, with the intention of causing him to attack pre-emptively in order to leave him vulnerable to the followup. "For that...!" Suddenly, Jaxus eyes' dilated into an uncharacteristic, even predatory gaze as he used his slowed rotational speed, waiting until his torso faced No'yome at a 295' angle, pressing his pelvis and hips forward with a sudden jerk, crunching his stomach to aid the motion in pressing his legs forward. If Jaxus feint attack succeeded, he would "pop" his waist and center of gravity over Yo'nome's head by roughly half a foot, attempting to position himself behind the man as he landed, extending both arms high above his head as he gripped a tiny, wooden boomarang, legs beginning to tilt towards the ground as he prepared to land. "I WON'T FORGIVE YOU! KOONOOO YAAROOU!" Suddenly, the wooden club in Jaxus' hand grew to "massive" size, just an inch short of reaching Jaxus' height of 5'5. Using the rotational energy he conserved, Jaxus went with the flow of the rotation, attempting to bring the heavy, now 32lb weapon to bludgeon No'yome's head and neck in a downwards, diagonal angle, taking advantage of the chaos in hopes of brutally striking the man down before the cult members could efficiently reorganize. With any luck, Jaxus would strike down No'yome before any of them realized what was happening due to the veil of smoke which followed him into the room. If he had gotten this far into the strike, Jaxus would immediately follow up by extending his leg in a straight, springing motion in an attempt to pre-emptively strike out at anyone behind him using his rotation speed as he prepared to land. Luckily, if the strike landed in No'yome's neck, the downward angle would direct the boomarang into their collar bone, delivering a crippling, non lethal strike before attempting to toss him against the nearby wall. Regardless, depending on how No'yome moved, this strike could unfortunately, end up lethal as well if it struck just the right area, something of which Jaxus was attempting to avoid. "THERE!" "CAAAW!" "OUF!" As Byron spotted Jaxus enter the room, he raised both of his machine gun's forward, only to find a noticable, sharp impact in his side as Persies, now lit ablaze in solar fire leaped right into his ribs with a headbutt, causing him to backpeddle before taking afew steps back from the bird, turning his gaze to Fredrick. "Told ya' kid, maybe you should learn to listen sometime, eh? BAHAHAHAH!" Letting out another hearty laugh, Byron cocked his tommy guns upwards, pointing them towards Persies as a murderous glare graced his eyes right about the same time Jaxus attempted his executing blow. "Begone, bird!" OOC Summery

Fear does not exist
|
Brushing a hand across the front of his shirt, Bones peered through the increasing smoke that was slowly engulfing the inn. "What an annoyance. These Blue Pegasus mages are gonna pay for ruining my night out..." Skuzz raised an eyebrow at him, fanning some of the smoke from his face. "Don't you mean because they're interfering with the job?" Bones shrugged slightly, scanning his surroundings. "Same difference. It's not really an official job I'd wager, but that's not the point. I'm more pissed that they-" He saw something yellow come hurtling out of the smoke towards them. Without even thinking, he shoved Skuzz hard, a giant yellow fist hurtling where he'd been standing a few second prior. "Interesting..." Another hand appeared from the smoke, this one swinging towards him this time. Shifting his stance, Bones managed to take that strike on his shoulder, the blow sending him skidding backwards and into a nearby table. The yellow fist came dropping down towards Skuzz again, but this time the stubby mage was ready for it. He lowered his center of gravity, raising his arms to protect his head as the fist collided with his sturdy guard. "What kind of mage uses magic like this..." Skuzz grunted. Rising from the remains of the table he'd collided with, Bones rested his left hand on his right shoulder, swinging his arm a few times as he stepped forward. "Doesn't matter. I'm gonna break it." He felt a hand on his shoulder, and he swiveled, preparing to strike at the new assailant, only to stare straight into the face of Vinnie. "I leave you clowns alone for a few minutes and you burn the damn bar down. I mean really. You guys are impossible." Bones let out a laugh as Vinnie pushed his way past him towards Skuzz. "So what's goin' on?" "Skuzz will explain. I have to make sure everyone is alright in the back room. There was supposed to be some meeting or something, gotta make sure the explosion didn't kill them or something." Vinnie scratched the top of his head, a puzzled expression crossing his face. "I've got no idea what's going on, but don't worry. I got you covered." Bones nodded, the air around him crackling with electricity. Soon, he was covered head to toe with electricity, before it dispersed just as quickly. He was adorned in an assortment of pads and plate like armor, his now lengthy black hair pulled back into a ponytail. A pair of rickshaw wheels spun lazily at his heels, stray bolts of lightning still crackling along his body. "Just make sure that one doesn't get in the way," he said, jerking his head at Jason. Bones voice had changed significantly, his own voice seemingly speaking in unison with another, and as quickly as he'd appeared, he disappeared again, flitting through the smoke with startling speed. As he moved, a stray bolt of lightning trailed down his left arm towards his hand. As it reached his palm, he closed his hand tightly, and a spear of jumped into his hand. Zeus form Vinnie stared after Bones for a brief moment, before shaking his head. He reached up to grasp his overcoat, removing it and tossing it to the side. His arms had numerous deep lacerations along their length, visibly old and scarred, and yet as he raised them up slightly, blood seemed to ooze from them as if they were new. "I guess we drew the short end of the stick, eh Skuzz? We get to play around out here. Could be fun, I guess. Don't go dying on me though..." As Bones moved through the smoke from the hole, it didn't take him long before he reached the backroom where the meeting had taken place. He was, however, too slow to prevent Jaxus from delivering what he could only assume was a fatal blow to No'yome. He was just in time to watch the strike be delivered, and what he was assuming was a corpse be sent tumbling into the wall. Gathering a bolt of lightning into his hand, Bones hurled it towards Persies. As it drew nearer to it's target, Bones clenched his hand, causing the ball of lighting to burst, no doubt sending volts of electricity through the small birds body, stunning it before it could be shot. Covering the remaining distance between himself and Jaxus with his full speed, Bones came to stand directly behind, his spear hefted on his left shoulder. "Seems I was a bit late. No matter. One death will not cause too much problem. I applaud you for your little show in the bar. But it's over now. You can't hope to beat me." Raising his voice slightly, he spoke to the remaining members in the room. "This place has been compromised. You're no longer safe here. Amelia and my men will make sure you make it out of here alright. Leave while I finish this one off." Grasping his spear with both hands, Bones leveled it at Jaxus. "This is what you wanted, right? Just you and me. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. Show me how well you can struggle before I put you out of your misery..." Summary

Well shit got real heavy real fast. Jason had landed a blow on the ugly bastard, but it didn't seem to phase him all that much. But then another enemy showed up, and Bones transformed. "Man, fuck it I guess I'll take the hard ones" jason grumbled as Bones sped off towards Jaxus. Jason was still in Susano'o, and he was now facing two opponents, both of whom were probably pretty strong. Jason didn't feel like waiting for them to finish their conversation, so he started his assault while they were still chatting. He swung his magic fist at the newcomer (Vinnie) throwing a right hook aimed at the mans head. He then threw a low blow with his arms, he had the advantage as far as range went so he might as well make the most of it. The blow was aimed at Vinnies legs, and would probably knock him to the ground. Jason chose to go low for many reasons, one was because the smoke would hide his attack, and because the opponent would be focussed on protecting his head. Jason (assuming Vinnie was hit by the low blow) brought both of his magical fists down on his chest, as if he were some sort of ape pounding on the ground. Jason didn't have time to focus on one opponent, so he quickly moved to Skuzz; removing his arms from Vinnies chest and sending a left back hand towards Skuzz. Jason then brought his right arm across his body for another right hook, the arms crossing over each other, both would probably hit skuzz in the right side of his body. Jason used the weight of his punch and continued the motion. He temporarily left the ground in a spinning motion, then using the leverage that he had gained he dropped a heavy left handed punch from above Skuzz, attempting to hit him in the head. Jason then landed on his feet once again, driving his fist through the initial impact. He quickly followed up with another vicious blow, this one came from the below; Jason threw and uppercut hoping to catch Skuzz in the chin, this time using his right arm. Jason quickly transitioned from his punch, and grabbed at Skuzz' shirt with his magical fist. He simultaneously reached towards Vinnie with his left arm, stretching across his body. He grabbed at Vinnies shirt (whether he was standing or on the floor still) and (assuming he got a hold of them both) he brought his arms back together, pulling the two of his enemies towards each other at relatively high speeds. He then let go of both of them and puled his arms back, allowing them to fly at each other. Jason was putting every ounce of himself in this fight, he realised the situation and couldn't afford to hold back one bit. It was definitely a life and death situation. Jason had noticed Bones' initial trajectory, he was headed for Jaxus, and Jaxus was now alone back there with some cultists and Bones. Jason gritted his teeth and made a split second decision, save Jaxus. Jason decided to end his combo on a finishing blow. As the two hit each other (all is not guaranteed, they can avoid it obviously) Jason brought both of his fists back, and swung at Vinnies back like he was playing baseball with his fists. Assuming the blow hit them, they would be sent towards Amelia and the bar exit. Jason then turned and headed towards the back room, hopefully Jaxus hadn't died yet. Cultist POV Byron fired at the bird four times, then turned and fired at the kid who had just burst onto the scene (Jaxus). Byron was shocked to see a long haired guy burst in, paralyze the bird, and give him orders. Byron just shrugged and figured it'd be best to listen to the guy. Byron finished his flurry of bullets and started running towards the front of the bar, his guns still in hand. Byron could barely see through the dense smoke that had blanketed the bar, it was a good thing he was getting out of there. Edited by Spider-Jay, Mar 8 2015, 01:38 AM.

I don't even know.

OOC Note KOONOOO YAAROOU! As No'yome skillfully blocked his technique, the weapon came down with crashing force, splinters flying through the air as Jaxus plowed through the staff, adjusting for the resistance as he curbed the brutal weapons edge slightly away from No'yome's temple. CRACK! With audible clarity, the strike landed clearly, sending the man away as Jaxus landed, spinning on his heels as he turned to Byron. The glow in his eyes slowly faded away, leaving a deep, emerald color like before as his pupils shot wide as he prepared to move, realizing Byron's intention. "OI!" Before Jaxus could move, a new figure, black haired figure with a pony tail suddenly appeared from the smoke with startling speed, donned in padded, plated armor and a spear, lightning crackling from his hands. Before Jaxus could register what was occurring, a bolt of lightning left the figures new hands. BZZZZZZAAAAAP! "CA-CAAAAWWW!" As if under the mans complete control, the electricity exploded, sending intense voltage down the birds small frame as she shrieked in pain. "PERSIES!" RATATATATAT! "SQWWAAAAH!" Persies was hammered by a hail of bullets, striking hard enough that feathers were sent straight into the burning smoke, blowing patches of her natural protection clear from her body as she fell slumped to the ground, face first, twitching in pain, the new bruises along her body only complimented by the crippling surge of numbness wracking her body. "You..." The Boomarang was placed vertically on the floor, held upright by Jaxus left hand as his right clenched in anger. As Byron turned to Jaxus, red slightly filled the corners of his sight, his breathes growing deeper as even further adrenaline pumped through his veins. RATATATAT! As Byron let off his flurry of bullets, Jaxus tilted to the side and raised the boomarang to face sideways, using the wider end of the weapon to absorb a majority of the bullets. Yet and still, Jaxus cringed as afew stray bullets struck his forearms and legs as he shifted into cover. And then, like a flash of lightning, a blur passed by him, placing itself directly behind him before a voice, seemingly a new one spoke once more, causing Jaxus eyes to dilate in shock, his sense of rage taken aback by an ominous foreboding. //That sound...// It sounded like a resonance, a voice speaking in unison with another, and suddenly, the identity of this figure struck him full force as he instructed the members to leave. //Crap...// As Byron ran, Jaxus knew pursuit wasn't possible now. "Eheh, I try.~" With Bones still behind him, Jaxus shifted his weight to turn to Bones as he replied on the show Bones had complimented him for, before stating the graveness of the situation he now found himself in. Yet his posture, while prepared, didn't seem intent on attacking just yet as Bones hefted the spear towards him, causing a small, genuine smile to cross his face, with the slightest hint of smugness as Bones nailed down what Jaxus had hoped for. A one on one, a chance to fight perhaps, the strongest mage he had met his in travels. "That's pretty thoughtful, ya' know, Bones?~ I'll try to return the favor then and not make it too borin' for ya.~" Jaxus had a slight grin as he said this, a certain, fiery glare crossing his eyes as he brought himself into posture. Sliding his left leg back, Jaxus tilted the foot at a 270 degree angle, his right leading leg bending at the knee slightly and facing towards Bones as his back leg straightened in a low fighting stance, shifting the boomarang into a reverse grip, the inner curve facing towards Bones as he placed the boomarang long end down on the floor for support, a small trickle of crimson appearing on his pants leg as a result. Yet, as Jaxus had replied, Amelia made her way through to the scene, attempting to bring No'yome out of the rubble. As she commented on No'yome, Jaxus' attention turned away from Bones, distracted by his friend's words, and leaving the perfect chance to exploit his defense had Bones decided to take it. Though, if left uninterrupted, something abit odd for the situation would occur. As Jaxus met Amelia's glare, a saddened scowl quickly formed on Jaxus face, his eyes tilting downwards to the floor as if shamed for his actions as he briefly viewed No'yome's broken body. "Aye...Sorry if you liked him...There ain't an excuse...but if these guys win, if what everyone has been sayin' bout' what they want to do is true..." Considering Jaxus hadn't been flattened yet by an opportunistic strike on Bones end, Jaxus' right hand began to shake, as if waivering in his words. "Then all of my friends could get hurt, or worse...Even you, Amelia..." As Jaxus said this, a storm of memories would flash in an instant as he recalled his closest friends. Jason was like a brother to him, like family. Amelia was perhaps, his closest friend since his travels began. Ari, the girl he had met in the North Pole. Then there was Zeph and Bones. Maybe, "friend" wasn't the right word, but he shared memories with these people, memories he actually enjoyed. "I-I don't want to see that happen...For my memories to only be just that..." Suddenly, the shaking in his hand ceased as Jaxus' right fist clenched. "I refuse!" Jaxus turned his attention back to Amelia, an odd firmness in his eyes. "No matter how much it hurts me...even if I have to risk those memories fighting for them..." As the memories flooded Jaxus' consciousness, he remembered what he was fighting for. Forcing his signature childish grin, Jaxus fought through the despair, giving Amelia a wide, stupid grin. "I ain't backin' down.~" Even if the hand was forced, Jaxus wasn't going to let this interfere with the memories he worked so hard for. Amelia was his friend, and he refused to fight against her with a scowl. It was just who he was. "Sides, why you think I aimed where I did? He'll be fiiineee.~" Despite clobbering the man, Jaxus actually joked about it to Amelia, giving a slightly dismissive wave. Perhaps abit rude, but Jaxus hoped Amelia knew him well enough to understand his intention. He was joking around like he would with a close friend, and if Amelia's sight scanned the wound, she perhaps could perceive the angle had been directed facing away from the temple as the strike came down. Even in his fit of rage, Jaxus had attempted to incapacitate the man over killing him. However, as the scene began to unfold, Amelia's structural damage began to become apparent as afew stray pieces of burning wood from the ceiling began to descend from the roof, a loud creak echoing through the building. "Sorry for makin' ya' wait. Ready?~" Suddenly, Jaxus let out a sudden, heavy cough before turning his attention back to Bones, firming up his fighting stance as he turned back to Bones. Yet, by now, a burning sensation was beginning to build in his lungs but luckily, the ventilation mask was working to some small degree, limiting the damage at the current moment. Bringing his right arm diagonally over his lower chest, Jaxus opened his palm flat as he prepared, his body tensing and untensing with excitement. Jason was definitely the strongest light mage he had met, but Bones was a monstrous level when Jaxus compared what he knew of them. This challenge, no matter how it ended, was something Jaxus was hoping would occur for a decent while now. Yet, as he prepared himself, the magic in the boomarang seemed to fade away, shrinking to a miniscule size as Jaxus shifted the grip around once more, holding the boomarang to guard his neck, inversed so that the ridge pointed towards himself, taking a new posture to compensate for the decreased size of the weapon. Yet, as he took this stance, another creak echoed through the building. "...Huh...?" Jaxus short attention span made itself apparent once more as he gave a brief glance to the ceiling, observing that the fire had spread quite far. "...Crap..." -In the back halls- "Uh...Sarge...I'm smelling smoke..." "Yeah Private, I know..." As the two crept rushed through the door, they quickly slowed their pace to a creep, inspecting each room with care as they attempted to assess the situation. KOONOOO YAAROOU! CRACK! "This way!" As Jaxus battle cry echoed through the hallways, along with a sickening crack, the two knights began to rush towards the sound of the disturbance, only for them to slow their pace to a jog as Vicinte turned the corner, inspecting the escape route as per Amelia's command. "H-HEY! YOUR THE JERK THAT KICKED US OUT!" "PRIVATE, DELTA CHARGE, GO!" "SIR!" Suddenly, the two kicked back up to full speed in their charge. The Sargent, quickly locating Vicinte's blade, reached into his coat before unsheathing his sword in a quick, fluid motion, attempting to use his previous glimpse of the man's laido skills to predict where he would most likely strike from, and struck in a way to "catch" his blade mid swing. Spending the entirely of his focus on preventing Vicinte from quick drawing his sword into a full arc, the Sargent spread his stance wide to prepare and take the inevitably heavy blow. "WOOHOO!" The private, trailing behind the Sargent by afew feet would leap and "power slide" over the wooden floors, attempting to slide under his commanding officers legs on a crash course for Vicinte, intending to either bowl him over with a full body kick to the legs, or if Vicinte had widened his stance, to slide under him before raising both his elbows to lay out a brutal, double elbow strike to the back of the Vicinte's knees, intending to make him collapse. If this trip succeeded, the Sargent would respond by attempting to repeatedly curb stomp the man's sword arm and chest into the ground on the very moment he would land, using the heel of his boots to bring down repeatedly, heavy blows. In fact, if Vicinte hadn't been able to escape the flurry from the Sargent, the private would promptly pull himself back up from the ground and join in for a quick flurry against the man's chest and head. Fear does not exist
|
In the Bar "How rude," Vinnie said with a snort, as Jason's giant fist came careening towards him. He ducked the blow, dropping low to the ground and letting the fist past mere inches away from his head. He saw the next low blow coming in time to curl up for the impact, being sent rolling like a ping pong ball out of range of Jason's next attack. The downside to the area being shrouded with smoke was that while it made it difficult for one to see their surroundings, it made gauging distance and confirming attacks just as difficult. "Skuzz. Aren't you supposed to be explaining what's going on?" Vinnie's voice range through the smoke as Jason's fists turned towards Skuzz, a backhand followed by a right hook. Keeping his low center of gravity, Skuzz's arms were pulled up in a peekaboo style, taking both blows on his sturdy guard. His legs wavered slightly, but he managed to stay upright. "I was gettin' to it." The next punch came from above, Jason using his momentum to throw a hard punch towards Skuzz's head. Exhaling slightly, Skuzz made to cover up again, but a transparent sheet of red appeared in front of him, square and around 3 feet in diameter, blocking the blow. Skuzz glanced over to see Vinnie walking back into view, his left arm extended towards him. "I know you're pretty tough Skuzz, but don't just give him free hits." Skuzz shrugged slightly as the shield of blood began to dissipate. "Don't really have range like you do. You know, you could actually attack him instead of waiting on an explanation." Vinnie let out a short laugh. "Naw. It's more fun this way." The next punch that came towards Skuzz, he was ready for. Rather than take the full force of the blow, he turned his body away from it, allowing it to glance off of him. At that point, the fist uncurled and grabbed at his shirt, at the same time the opposite arm reached across and grabbed at Vinnie. Dropping his guard but maintaining his low stance, Skuzz grabbed the hand by the wrist and index finger, at the same time that Vinnie stopped the opposite hand from closing around him by gripping the thumb and middle finger. Both planted their feet and held fast as the arms tried to pull them. As effective an attack as it may have been, using both arms simultaneously in such a manner meant that neither arm could use the maximum strength they possessed, allowing the Tartaros mages to prevent themselves from being flung. They slid slightly but held their ground, their eyes meeting from across the bar. With the communication ability of people who'd known each other for a long time, they simultaneously made to hoist Jason up by his arms and attempt to slam him into the ceiling. If Jason didn't undo the spell, thus forcing them to relinquish their grip, they would attempt to slam him into the ceiling again. Meanwhile(At the Legion of Doom) Jaxus seemed surprised by Bones' new appearance, but he recovered quickly, stating that he'd try not to make things boring for him. Cocking his head to the side, Bones flipped his spear around, driving it into the floor by his feet. "If that's the case, I won't use this. The range handicap would make this too quick. This way, you at least have a chance of hitting me, though it's still not a very good chance. I'll just play with you for a bit until everyone gets out. Then I'll end it..." Movement behind him made him glance backwards in time to see Amelia entering. Judging by her expression and the way she moved to aid the fallen man, she probably knew him as her employer for this job. Jaxus' relationship with her reared its ugly head again, and the pair went back and forth for awhile, which Bones pointedly ignored. He had no interest in their relationship, how they knew each other or anything of the sort. At present, his only objective was preventing Jaxus from leaving this room. They went on like that for a minute, before Bones heard a comment that he assumed was addressed towards him. Looking back towards Jaxus, he snorted slightly. "The job is important and all, but I like to enjoy my fights. I don't think there's much point in beating on you when you aren't paying attention." Even as he said it, the enormous boomerang like weapon in Jaxus' hands began to shrink, possibly due to it having remained in such a state for too long. Bones could only guess that it was magical, and that the enlarged form was only temporary. Yet another advantage gone for Jaxus. The entire building seemed to shudder slightly, small bits of debris dislodging from the ceiling, causing Jaxus to glance above him. Taking the opportunity, Bones covered the distance between them immediately, unleashing a flurry of five punches, a right to the stomach, a left to the sternum, a right to the chest, a left to the face, followed by another right to the opposite side of his face. No sooner had he thrown his punches, he moved back out of range just as quickly, attempting to make use of this form's staggering speed to strike and then avoid retaliation. "Let's see how well you can keep up..." summary
