Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

He tilted his head to the side at her comment. Scaredy cat? Who? Him? He was about to retort when the other had reached out a hand and dragged him along. He felt a little strange by the touch but he didn’t make it known. He had encounters with other women before but now that he thought about it, this would be the first time it was the woman who took him by the hand first and urged him. Strange, really. Perhaps he had come to acknowledge a sense of bravery as well as a sort of determination in the other’s movements.

The cathedral was quite the show. He did not expect the sudden change once he entered, and it did make a lot more sense that they were witches. The ability to even transform the place to suit their covered lives was well-placed. These Umbra Witches as they would call themselves was quite the coven and he was beginning to get curious.

A little forceful and daring, himself, Rhevas stepped up close to Syeena as they were inside and spoke. “Hindi ko naman kailangan ng malapalasyong kwarto. Atsaka mas interisado ako sa inyong kultura. Ano ba talaga kayong mga tao?” (I’m not really interested in palace-like chambers. I’m more curious about your culture. Just who are you people. Umbra Witches that is)

And he spared a moment’s glance to Jeanne and grinned as he could tell from her tone that she was quite daring as intimidating as her power, to which he wouldn’t show fear.

Syeena smiled at Rhevas, delighted by his interest. It was rare for anyone to take the time and energy to try and UNDERSTAND what the Umbra Witches were. THis also impressed Bayonetta and Jeanne nearby as they watched them. "Well...its a bit hard to explain. The Umbra Witches are well..." Syeena said, trying to think of the best way to describe how they operated. "The Umbra Witches are Overseers of Darkness. We are tasked using various arts to maintain the balance of our world between light and darkness, by whichever threat either side poses. As Umbra Witches, we lean towards using magic that people classify as the dark arts." she explained.

"Most witches, such as Jeanne and myself use magic that forges pacts with demons," Bayonetta added in addition, which would remind Rhevas the magic she had used with her hair and using it conjure demonic tentacles. A mixture of summoning and weapons magic. "But our faith is something different entirely. We work with demons but do not subject ourselves to them."

Syeena gestured to the three goddess statues near the front of the church stain glass. "The Umbra Witches feel that truth is seen only by shadow, which led us to follow dark magic-- but we truly pay homage to the Moirai, the Fates. The three women who weave the tapestry of everyone's fates. Through them, we follow the teachings that understand the true meaning of Fate, and thus able to change ours in return. Its a bit complicated I know. TO put it simply, we are dedicated to maintain the balance between light and dark."

Hex had curled up on one of the bleachers of the church and had been listening in and out. "That is basic?" she replied sarcastically.

Syeena gave the cat an irritated look. She always wanted to cause trouble.

A bit of what Syeena said to describe their clan of witches somehow made sense. Personally, Rhevas had nothing against the so-called Dark Arts. If magic as well as all form of argument had to be classified, then definitely, there would be a light and a darker shade to things. Yet, one must also be considerate in order to understand that just because you are in the darker shade of things doesn’t mean you are entirely evil. Rhevas smirked as he could think of all those poser nobles who had been caught by the curiosity and novelty of cults. They were the tainted lights, if they were to be categorized by social status quo.

He let out a bit of laugh when Syeena seemed to give Hex a reprimanding look, of which he could tell the cat may not so love. Even if it was seemingly sentient and could handle well the situation around it, its nosiness attitude was quite amusing to see. “Mag-ingat ka, baka’t itapon ka sa labas nyan.” (Careful or you’ll find yourself thrown out the window.) He would tease at the cat, not bothering if Hex could understand or not.

Then there was a matter of a bit of the explanation that he had to clarify. The part with ‘No subjecting one’s self to the demons’ for in all truth, that was pretty much how his relationship with his demons was. And if given the chance, he would really want to just be like them. So, would they still see him in the same light if he were to speak about it?

“Syeena, may kailangan akong sabihin sa inyo bago ano man ang mangyari,” (Syeena, I need to tell you guys something before anything else,) he started as he flexed the fingers of his right hand before he whipped his hand aside and the fiery whipblade managed to form itself midair, whipping before coiling along the length of his arm, the tip resting just over his shoulder. “Mayroon mga klaseng mga majika na kakaiba, at alam nyo na ang bagay sa kadiliman. Ngunit, hindi ganyan ang aking majika. Ako ay nakapangalan sa aking mga demonyo, at sila sa akin. Kami’y iisa, parang pamilya, kumbaga. Kung kaya’t gusto ko muna malaman kung sang-anyon ba ito sa inyong paniniwala.” (There are many types of magic and you’re already familiar with the Dark Arts. But mine is a little different, even if you feel they are quite similar. You see, I am connected to my demons as they are to me, almost like a familial bond in fact. That is to say, I am subjected to them as they are to me. So, I would like to know if this is against your teachings and belief.)

And it would be known that while the fiery whipblade was quite an amazing glowing sight of a weapon behaving well as if it had a life of its own, a more careful look would allow one to notice that each flaming blade section connected to each other were in fact souls of fire demons, put together, not tormented, but acting as one. And though there were no apparent eyes, the sense of being looked upon was real and creepy, as if thousand of eyes were present in that weapon alone.

The display of the man's demon originated magic was actually not surprising to the witches and cat in the chapel. Both Jeanne and Bayonetta smiled at one another. "Relax, hon," Bayonetta/Cereza said as she waved a hand at the whip. "Your magic is actually quite similar to my own and Jeannes. You are in good company-- despite you being a man," she said, a hint of a teasing to his gender.

It was odd and probably the first time a man was welcomed into the cathedral of the Fates, where the witches dwelled. Some Witches probably would of threw him out on site if they had the chance. Still, Syeena agreed with her aunt-- he was welcomed magic wise here. "YOu don't have to worry. Demons don't surprise anyone here. Difference is we don't subject to demons. " she explained.

WIth that resolved, Syeena stretched a bit. Much like Hex, curled up and taking a cat nap, she was exhausted from the travel to the citadel and the excitement going on. " You know I really am exhausted. I'd like to get some sleep. Aunt Jeanne? Aunt Cereza? Is my room still in tact?" she asked.

"No, we turned it into an exercise room-- of course your room is still here sweetie. This is your home," Jeanne said, clearly joking and being the kind aunt she was. "As for your friend... we might have a place for him to stay without causing problems,"

Rhevas might not like what was coming as he very likely would end up being the butt of a joke with the two older witches.

Rhevas felt a smile grow upon his face at their answers. He was glad that despite their earlier words, it would appear as though his kind of magic with the demons wasn’t at all frowned upon. It would have been quite troublesome indeed if it would have been the case. So with a wave of his hand and a quick whisper to the whipblade coiled on his hand, he released his power and the fiery whipblade dispersed into nothing.

“Salamat naman. Sana’y hindi ako abala sa inyong lahat.” (Thank you. I hope I wouldn’t be a burden to your clan then.) he would tell Syeena before the talk about sleeping arrangements had come up again. He had a sly grin about him. The way the three ladies teased one another was fairly cute but also strange. Perhaps there were more to cultures of humans he had yet to truly understand, especially when he hadn’t had any good opportunity to examine a family up close.

Then of course, he was quite curious about his term for sleeping quarters. He could tell from the way Jeanne was quite teasing that she was trying to pull a quick one, and he wasn’t one to be easily fooled. But once in a while, he would like to play along for the sake of this once in a lifetime fun. “Kahit ano man yan, tatanggapin ko. Hindi naman pwedeng maging mapili ang isang tao.” (I’ll accept whatever challenge it is you’ll have for my sleeping quarters, don’t worry. After all, beggars can’t be choosers.)

Unfortunately, Rhevas learned the hospitality for him was not good. Before long, Jeanne had actually led Rhevas to a crumby cell-- down in the basement of the church. It was exactly like she said-- a dungeon cell. "I could of bolted you into the neck and arm bracer over there, but I wanted to be somewhat generous." the white haired witch said. Rhevas 'room' was a cell with a simple bed-bench and common things for a prisoner. She had closed the door, as it was her idea of a sick joke. THough not a prisoner, she was dead serious about leaving him to sleep there. "Don't worry. I'll come get you in the morning," she teased and left.

Rhevas would know that the Umbra Witches were known for a sick sense of humor at times.

Back up in Syeena's room, her surroundings were more pleasant. She was among the dorms of the clock tower in the cathedral, and her room had been untouched. Syeena's room was a bit more childish in the sense it had been her's since she was 16. Her ceiling was decorated with engravings of stars and moons, a violet shade to the room. She had a large bed for her to sleep in, draped in violet sheets and black cloths. The furniture leaned to a more gothic interpretation, but not with skulls but by design and strucutre. Candles burned on the table tops, magical so that they would provide light but not burn anything if made contact to parchment or wood. Syeena had two bookshelves in the room, a desk, a dresser, a mirror-- all decorated with gentle astrological items.

Syeena was now lying down on her bed, her back against it as Hex once more prowled the room. It brought back memories of her childhood being there, right down to the small moon-shape throw pillow with a cheezy face on it.

After coming out from the bed, Hex poked her head out and then hopped on the bed, looking to Syeena. "You tired?" The cat asked, gently lying down next to her friend.

Syeena rolled over and curled up a bit, looking to her cat friend. "Ya, I am. Just thinking. " she replied. Reaching over, she scratched her friend behind the ears.

"About...? Prrrrrr..." Hex purred, liking the moments Syeena treated her as a cat. Prideful the Exceed was, didn't mean she denied her cat-like desires to be petted and loved as any human with a cat would do.

Syeena had a thoughtful, serious look to her. "I been giving it alot of thought. I want to undergo the Witch Trials," she explained. Hex listened, but with the purring, Syeena was unsure if the cat was listening. "I know its dangerous, but its a rite of passage for being a full-fledged witch. And I want to bare that responsibility."

"So why don't you?" the cat replied, arching her face up so that Syeena could get under her chin.

"Well its dangerous, for one," Syeena replied, but that part was not a bother to her. "But I worry about Mom not approving it. Its not like she wants me not to take it, but I worry she may react strongly wanting to take it so soon. But if I do, I will get my Umbra Watch like Aunt Cereza and the others." she explained.

As Syeena stopped the scratching, she sat up and looked on the nearby table. She had one of her Tarot decks-- her oldest one from when she was a little girl there. She took the first card and looked at it.

It was The Death. A card of what many feared as actual death-- and end. However, Syeena knew its true meaning. It was not death, but change. Transaction from one state to a next, and the death meant a more significant one. Whether it would lead to death was another story, but it was her own decision to make. She could choose to be cautious, or take a risk and obtain the mark of mastery she wished.

"I'll tell them in the morning. Right now, I need to sleep," Syeena said with a yawn. At that moment, using her own magic her clothing vanished in a flurry of Tarot cards-- which soon replaced her naked body with a pair of comfortable silk pajamas. All within that stretch and yawn.

Hex only shook her head at the display and pawed the bed kindly. Syeena soon got on the bed and pulled the covers over herself. Hex soon walked on all fours onto the side of her and curled up. The cat and the girl snuggled like a child with a stuffed toy, as Syeena lightly dozed off to sleep.

For the next morning, she was going to make a change to her present life.

Despite how their funny antics and conversation went, they didn’t disappoint. Rhevas was led to one of the dungeons where he spent the night. He was, however, fortunate that it wasn’t in a sealed dungeon and he could get out at any moment he wanted. Perhaps it was just courtesy because no men were allowed in that place, after all, so even their guest lodgings would not be appropriate for him. And perhaps because sleeping in one of the pews of the cathedral would be plain insulting.

In any case, the next morning came without much of a hiccup. Rhevas was shown the way out of the dungeon, treated to a bit of conversation with the said minder who was told to guide him. He wasn’t sure where Syeena and that cat of hers was at that moment but he was certain that he’d be able to catch up with them soon enough.

However, as he was now entering the cathedral, he had a strange feeling swirling in his gut. It wasn’t an omen, but it almost felt like one. He had to keep his guard up for anything strange. What if that nun went berserk again and decided to show him a bit or two of her powers. She certainly looked like someone who enjoyed in such acts, even if it was just mere teasing. Still, he hoped he’d rather not get too carried away with anything too dangerous. What would his esteemed babysitter say?

That morning, Rhevas was soon out of the cell. It was a cruel joke for him to be put there but Cereza and Jeanne had in fact let him go and he was now free to look around the cathedral and such-- within reason of course. It was at that time that Syeena soon emerged from her own room. She had a rested night sleep, and now fully dressed in her usual black robes-- she went to find her aunts to tell them what she intended to do. Tailing behind her was Hex, the cute black cat easily striding down the hall with her.

As she made her way to the main cathedral, she found one of them-- Cereza or as she was more known as Bayonetta for her use of the guns she had on her person at all times. "Good morning, little one," she greeted Syeena kindly. "Did you sleep well?"

Syeena greeted her with a nod but had a serious look on her face. It would be around this time that Rhevas would find his way back to the main room where they were talking. "Aunt Cereza-- listen there is something I want to tell you. I been giving this alot of thought and I have come to a decision," she said. This made Ceresa listen intently as she observed the serious look Syeena gave her. "I want to undergo the witch trials. I want to earn my place among the Umbra Witches and earn my Umbra Watch,"

As he finally made his way to the center of the cathedral, he would across the gathered women over there. Syeena was looking fine as well as her aunt. They were talking about something of their coven when he had arrived but he couldn’t get much more of what they were conversing about since he had yet to master the spoken language but from the way he observed them to be jovial and all, he could tell it was a lighthearted moment or so.

In any case, he would greet them as soon as he arrived, but he may have brought with him a certain case he had hoped would not have to be. You see, he may have to return to the guild after all. “Ayer sorry, Syeena. Ayer must go back to Grimoire Heart. Have unfinished buziniz.” He would say before facing the aunt and bowing lightly.

He did, however, made sure to declare that he was not at all in odds with their culture and that should a certain event in the future would allow them to be together for an adventure that he would not refuse the offer. “Until then, stay safe. Ayer probably get scolded by guild, youz see. Bye for now.” So with a wave of his hand a quick glare to the cat, he turned on his heels and left.

The brief interruption was strange and sudden. It left Syeena wondering why he left all of the sudden. But she had other concerns to focus on. Certainly Cereza and Hex didn't have qualms for him going. The witches did frown a little bit on males in their sanctum. For now, Syeena had a more interesting thing to tell them.

She told Cereza that she wished to take the Witch Trials-- the rite of passage for witches coming into their own for the mark of mastery for their clan. It was a privlage for many witches, and for now Syeena was the youngest in her clan. As she explained her reasons, it was clear to the witch that Syeena was not just a young lady anymore.

She was ready to undergo the trials and be recognized as an heir to the clan. It was something she wanted and she had proved she had the knowledge and talent to do it. After a bit of convincing, the witch knew she couldn't treat Syeena like a little girl forever-- despite the vast age difference between them. After all unlike Syeena, the other witches had lived CENTURIES longer due to their realized powers.

Cereza gave a small as she told Syeena that she may undergo the trials. Though with some conflicts, she would share with her the knowledge and requirements to successful complete them and earn her place among the Umbra Witches.
