Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Mission Link

Inara had taken yet another mission. She wasn't far from C rank, so said the guy who handed out posters. She just had to get a little stronger, and do a few more run of the mill D rank missions and she would get there. It was something she wanted, so she was going at it with vigor. She was ready, and she just had to keep doing little things like this to make it so. She assumed she would be partnered with someone, she just wasn't sure who.

So she had come to this little town called Tully Village, and she was happy to find that the poster she held said something about a garden. She was certain this would be an easy task for her. She ready had some affinity with plants, obviously. All she had to so was help someone make a salad of some relatively large fruits and that seemed simple enough.

The village itself was relatively charming, full of quaint little houses with rosebushes and other plants growing on well maintained front lawns. The shops were small, and looked cozy from Inara's point of view. She was actually looking forward to meeting her client, who lived in a house at the end of a cul de sac. It was rather large compared to the other houses around. She didn't actually have any issues finding it for once, and she was glad of that. She heard the doorbell ring inside the house as she pushed the button. She looked at the cloudless sky and smiled. The sun was shining and the wind was only slightly warm. It was perfect.

Now all she had to do was wait for her client to shuffle her way to the door. It took what felt like an hour. But the woman eventually opened the door. She was elderly, a small bent woman with a walking stick. No wonder she had needed help! Inara held up the poster, and gave a smile. Before she could say a word, however, the woman gave a yell into the house which echoed fairly well. "ELLANOR!" A voice withing responded, but Inara couldn't make out the words. "Just a second. She'll be down shortly. You can wait on the porch." Inara nodded and took a seat on the porch swing. She hoped that the person who was supposed to be helping her would be along soon as well. Before she could give that much more thought, a young woman, no more than 20 came bounding out the door in a tank top and cut off blue jean shorts. Her hair was flaming red and her smile was bright and warm.

"I suppose you're the mage they sent to help out? I'm Elanor. Nice to meet you." She leaned down, showing an embarrassing amount of cleavage. Inara looked up and smiled back, shaking the woman's hand. "I'm Inara Serra. Nice to meet you."

If there were two things that often inhabited the curious mind of Rhevas, it was either food or novelty. Apparently, the guild-appointed keeper Ranth who was to be his babysitter while he was still learning the ways of Fiore, was quite easy to trick. At least for a day or two. Rhevas had enough experience with the blonde to actually lose track of him in Poinsettia before he ran off to the nearest train station and jumped on it. Certainly, one way or another, he would meet him again, but not for now. His curiosity for the unknown was piqued as he had heard word of a certain village having a display of something rather large. Food, it seemed, a display of large food.

And so, it was not a mystery as to why Rhevas found himself stopping by the humble Tully Village where the rumoured giant food was served. He was both eager to taste and see what it was. Fortunately, no one has spoiled him as to what it truly was. He can be, despite his over-eagerness for food, quite picky with his meals. Always the carnivore with a palate from the mundane meat to the most exquisite steak. And he hated vegetable. Hated.

So, again, it was quite fortunate that no one told him what it truly was and just led him on along the path. A tourist was a good source of income after all, and people preferred to have their income generating machines in happy spirits. Also, he seemed quite rough with the way he wore his black jacket and dark motif clothes that maybe the people in Tully sort of knew he wasn’t a salad-fan. In any case, Rhevas followed the path that the people pointed out to him and he was hoping it wouldn’t be too far anymore.

And upon reaching a certain house, he heard some voices. He followed it as he had yet to comprehend the words (still brushing up on what little Fiorean he knew) and soon enough, he found two people by the porch. Oh and he did catch the few words of “mages” and “help out.” So he raised a hand as he was in view and proclaimed, “Work for delicious food,” in a heavy accent but something he had learned from Ranth before. Thankfully, the blonde mage was able to teach him a bit of Fiorean that was useful.

Inara looked at the strange man at the base pf the porch as he raised his hand. She had never seen him around QC before, but that meant little. There were lots of people there she had never seen before. And since missions were never solo as far as she could tell until at least B rank, she just made the assumption he belonged.

She smiled and stood, green eyes shining. If this was a newer member, it was part of her job to help him get accustomed to missions. She gave a wave. "Hello there. You must be here to help me." His voice had been heavily accented, but that was hardly something she minded. If he could grasp basic Fiorian, she would be more than willing to deal with a bit of language difference. She couldn't quite place the accent though.

"I'm Inara by the way." She went down toward him, hand outstretched for a handshake. It was as she did this that Ellanor re-emerged from the house, her eyes smiling. She had on an apron, and some gardening gloves. She had covered her ..ah...shirt..with an apron.

"Just this way please. Ah. More help. Welcome." She smiled at the newcomer, then proceded to lead them toward the back garden. Her yard was neat, the lawn well manicured. It was as they rounded the corner that Inara saw why magical help had become a necessity. These fruits, ranging from watermelons, to cantaloupe, to well...Just about anything that one could imagine fruit wise. The problem was, none of these were any less than 3 meters tall. The tallest was 6 meters at a rough guess. Inara stood staring up at a melon which, had the house not had two stories, would have dwarfed it.

"Oh my." Inara said, as Ellanor laughed a little. "These are...Uh...Very nice melons you have here."

"I get that a lot."

Rhevas looked on with a questioning look as Inara would speak a rather long sentence without reserve. But he smiled when he could comprehend that she only meant well. And with the sudden appearance of the woman who seemed to own this house, it became quite clear that he would get the job. She seemed sweet enough to invite strangers, though he was a bit worried because of it. After all, it could mean that she was susceptible to those with evil intention. Not that he had one, but he ended up worrying over what she could be facing when he was someone else.

In any case, he shook hands with the woman who greeted him first, “Rhevas at youz service,” he said with a gentle smile and a curtsy before they all proceeded to follow the woman Elenor to the back of her house.

It was a humble home but what awaited them from the backyard was something beyond humble. The garden was so large that it could very well encompass all sorts of food there was available to mankind. But not just that, the vegetables and fruits were all large in size that the melons in particular were almost as big as the house itself. Rhevas was so dumbfounded by it because he was not at all a fan of veggies to begin with. So he merely nodded when talked about it and he would just follow their lead.

When it was clear that they would be harvesting the fruits, he was quickly dragged by Elenor, being told as the man among them, that he should be in charge with cutting the melon. He didn’t think it was that difficult since he had seen how cooks had prepared the said food before. So he would flip out his cromarian sword and get ready to start chopping. But really, was he sure he would be assisting in making quite the strange food he detested the most?

Inara looked at the garden, wondering how on earth such simple plants had gotten so overly large. She smiled as Rhevas looked at one of the many melons like it was a foreign object he had never seen before. Perhaps he simply didn't like veggies and the like, she thought. There were more than a a few males in her acquaintance who would be the same way. So she giggled, watching him. Then Elanor led her over to some of the gigantic fruit trees. Some of the apples on those trees were easily the size of her torso.

"I'm going to set a large basket here. If you can perhaps cut the apples off the stem? I intend this to ne a huge fruit salad. Then when you've done with that you can pick some of those berries over there." She pointed to the overly large bushes in a seperate corner of the yard. Strawberries and blueberries as big as Inara's forearm looked ripe for the picking.

"And what will you be doing?" Elanor gave a small laugh."I will be picking some of my veggies. To the best of my ability. You see, I have a rather bad back. So the growing is easy for me. The picking not so much." Inara smiled down at her as she began to ascend the branches of the great apple tree.

She crawled out to the first branch, giving it a good shaking in the process. She didn't mean to, and had expectes something that could bear up under the weight od such large fruit to be more sturdy. But some of the apples fell under the shaking of the branches, hitting both the ground and the bucket. Inara winced. "Oops."

He would not admit it but he was utterly dumbfounded by his task. He did not anticipate having to chop down an entire melon that was as big as a house. He kept looking at it with confused glances before he could finally decide on which spot he would first cut. Though he was a bit apprehensive of what type of cut would be needed. Would it be like cutting down a man or slitting the throat?

As he was ready to finally cut the melon, he took a step forward and made a clean slash. And a failure it was! His sword exited the melon so smoothly that the cut was too fine but shallow it did not even reach the opposing side. He should have used a bit more strength to at least cut through the rest of the melon’s thickness which would have chopped off the top portion completely. Instead, the shallow cut had ended up putting more force to the initial touch that a bit of the melon’s juice ended up squirting at him.

He ended up cursing endless profanities in a different tongue as he stumbled backward from the excess juice on the ground and when he tried to get his revenge with another hit, he had unfortunately struck one of the seeds that ended up sliding along the sword (thanks to the slippery melon juice substance and the soft moist flesh of the inside) that the seed, which was football in size, had specifically seemed to want to counterattack such a preposterous cutting swing that he got hit straight into the face, point-blank.

No training or utter suffering from a previous life could have prepared him for that attack. And so, with a loud thud, a loud yelp, and a loud crash, the demon boy ended up falling back to the ground, seeing stars for a brief while before totally blanking out.

It truly was a pitiful sight to behold.
