Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Independently Researched[combined reference][1]

Name: Sylvia DuFresne
Alias(es): N/A
Guild: N/A
Class: D
Affiliation: Neutral

Age: 27
Race: Human (Tiandore)
Gender: Female
Height: 5' 8" (172 cm)
Weight: 134 lb. (61 kg)

Taken from Wizarding License Application

Appearance
[addendum added with extended description]

Physical Description:The first thing I'd like to mention is my eyes. They're my most defining feature, I think, although, despite how odd it is to see someone with golden eyes, some people would still call attention to my bright red hair. I don't bother with it much, but some people seem to think it's beautiful. I normally keep it in a high ponytail, so that most of it stays out of my face.

I'm a bit thinner than I'd like, but it suits my face. Thin features accompany my thin frame. Thin eyebrows, thin nose, even my eyes are a bit thin. My face often sets into a sort of severe look when at rest, although I never really notice it. So, I may seem a bit intimidating at first glance.

I don't really know what else you want me to put here... Well, when I was younger, I hurt my legs pretty bad. a compound fracture in my left leg, and a fracture or two in my right. I needed some pins on my left leg, in addition to the cast, so I ended up with some pretty n'sat[2] scars around the middle of my shins.

[Compiler’s Addendum: DuFresne’s body is thin, but seems to be more sickly than athletic. This is likely due to constant strain on her body sapping her energy, but the truth of this is not known.

Otherwise, DuFresne appears to be in good health and shows no sign of prior injuries affecting her duties in any way.]

Clothing: [detailed in "Clothing/Armor"]

Accessories: Nothing really... I have a wallet that clips into my belt, I guess... Does that count, I don't know, but I don't want to find out I needed to declare this.

Extra: 2 days rations (dried meats and fruits, water in metal container, onion,), fine-cut tobacco, dark-stained wood cigarrette case, drab green bedroll, white canvas tent (A- shape), rucksack

Personality

DuFresne has shown to be quite relentless when attempting to meet her goals. This may be cause for concern if her goals are contrary to the mission. Despite this seemingly brash nature, DuFresne had no problem meeting acquaintances who would later help her along, so it appears she is most likely to be an amicable personality.

She, however, is known to be quite disapproving of humor during serious moments. And, providing she is agitated enough, has been known to respond violently. Temperament has been known to affect DuFresne's shooting She will normally have to focus herself before she can shoot straight again.

Normally, in times of agitation, DuFresne has been known to smoke a cigarette, more as a nervous habit than anything else. DuFresne is also aware that she would not always have this option while on assignment. In times of stress when she does not have access to a cigarette, Ms. DuFresne often resorts to meditation, but interruptions may leave her more irritable than when she started.

Furthermore, DuFresne has been shown to be a bit unruly with her weapon use. She has been known to discharge her weapon to show frustration. It is believed that habit is the reason she only carries one round in the chamber while she is at rest.

In pure combat situations, however, she is normally very focused and centered. She does not appear to be fearful of direct attack, even with her frail body, but this may be because of her swiftness of foot. It is unclear how she would respond to a life-or-death situation, although based on data collected, it is believed she would be confident in the face of it.

Despite this, it is unknown whether DuFresne would excel or decline in the presence of other wizards. There are no known records of DuFresne fighting alongside another wizard, so any information regarding strategic capabilities are moot.

Compiled History

Weapons/Equipment

Name: "Lucky" Pistol [Upgradeable "Main Weapon"]
Class: D (6-shot)
Description: Made of bronze, from barrel to trigger guard, as well as several embellishments on the design. The ignition chamber of the weapon has been replaced by one cast in iron, to increase the number of shots that can be fired in quick succession.
She was told, upon receipt of the weapon, that it had been specially calibrated to hit harder and more accurate than any gun of its class, but this is not entirely true. While, it has been calibrated, the real use of the weapon lies with the green “core” that had been welded into the embellishments of the weapon.

While it is inert at this point, with sufficient amount of upgrading to the pistol and repair of this “core,” it is likely the weapon will be able to become compatible with the gem.

"Lucky" Pistol

Most of the weapon is made of bronze. From the barrel, to the trigger guard, and even for some decorative elements, bronze was the metal of choice; however, the ignition chamber has been cast in iron to absorb more impact from firing magic shells.
Its physical measurements are 25 cm long, and it weighs approximately 1.8 kg. Its usefulness is hampered a bit by a slow reload speed.
Inside a small bronze sphere, located near the firing mechanism, is a round, emerald-colored gem. The surface is marred by a series of deep cracks.

Effect/Function: Holds no more than 6 shots. The bronze-work making up the barrel proves to be a design flaw. Because the metal is softer, it is prone to damage from excessive firing. This means that if any damage were to be present from this design flaw, it would cause shots to become less accurate [accuracy modifier penalty] and may actually cause the weapon to backfire. Furthermore, the cracked “core” in the weapon has been drained of all useful power and is nearly irreparably damaged.

Weapon Degradation

However, if furnished with skilled gunsmiths and powerful mages, it would be possible to unlock this weapon’s full potential.

She normally carries the gun on her left hip.

Name: "Lucky" Bullets
Class: D
Description: 6 high caliber rounds for the "Lucky' Pistol". Kept on a pouch on her waist.

Name: Knight's Revolver
Class: D (6-shot)
Description: It's an older model, but the markings are clear. This weapon once belonged to a Knight, specifically, it was a custom job which had been commissioned by one of the Peacekeepers of Fiore. Markings on the weapon are revealed when the gun is taken apart, and even is initialed by, possibly, the original owner of the gun.
At 27 cm long, and composed of a 2.2 kg steel body and impressive kickback, it is unclear whether this weapon can even be fired safely by Dufresne.

Knights Revolver

Effect/Function: holds no more than 6 shots at a time. Fires almost as fast as you can pull the trigger.

She normally carries the "Knight's Revolver" in her "hammerspace" or strapped to her belt horizontally behind her back.

Name: Revolver Rounds
Class: D
Description: 6 low caliber rounds for the "Knight's Revolver" weapon.

Ex-Quip Inventory

Taken from wizarding license application

Name: Traveler's Garb
Class: D
Description: A set of clothing which I wear on a day to day basis. Chances are, unless I'm mid-battle, I'm wearing this.

Traveler's Garb

It isn't much, just something to protect me from the elements, but it does just fine for that. It consists of a leather skirt over a pair of white leggings, secured with a belt. A long-sleeve button up white shirt is covered by vest made of a fairly thin leather, which, unfortunately, isn't tough enough to serve as armor.

I don't normally keep my ammo in my “hammer-space”, rather, I prefer to keep my ammo handy in a few pouches around my belt. So, at any time I'll have ammo for both my pistols at the ready... although I have no reserve ammo, either.

Thinking ahead, I decided on a pair of long boots, so that, if I need to, I could easily drop to one knee and take a shot. I figure, it's not too likely in a non-combat situation, but who knows, maybe being able to fire at a moment's notice is worthwhile in its own right.

Effect/Function: N/A

Name: Knight's Armor
Class: D
Description: A suit of armor consisting of metal pauldrons, gauntlets, greaves, chest plate and tassets over a set of leather armor. While this armor was easily worn while still on Tiandore, I have found that outside of my hometown's special gravity, it is too heavy for normal use.

Knight's Armor

However, it is does have some use, in that, I can use it for endurance training, to develop my muscles, but fighting in this would be suicide.

Skills & Disciplines

Magic
Magic Name: Tiandoran Might
Magic Type: Exquip
Tier of Magic: 1
Rank: 1
Magic Description: A mainly passive magic that is a subset of "Gravity Magic" which is specialized in buffing the user’s exquipped weapons and armor, rather than affecting opponents.++

More powerful versions can be used to affect items and creatures which are not exquiped to the user, to a lesser extent. Early forms of this magic apply a slight gravity buff to the affected item/creature, making them feel 5% lighter, this effect maxing out at 50% normal gravity (far lower than the 90% which is possible through Tiandoran ory)

Tiandoran Glory is the highest ranked ability of the “Tiandoran Might” magic type. It creates an aura around the caster which makes them feel as though they are in Tiandore’s gravity well. Any other effects of the user’s “Tiandoran Might” magic stop immediately upon use of Tiandoran Glory, due to the immense concentration it takes to maintain.

++gravity buffs to summoned items, making them feel lighter than they normally would be, maxing out at making weapons and armor feel 50% lighter than usual

Techniques: 2/5

Techniques: 2/6 (2 Bought)

Handheld Arsenal- 1
Type: Requip
Range: Self
Effect: The user can change to another piece of equipment by sending equipment to and summoning equipment from their pocket dimension. A single requip use is capable of swapping one full set/suit of armour and a weapon pair for another (i.e. a sword and shield, a bow, two claws, a sword and a handgun, etc.) Dufresne's items appear in a puff of wispy smoke that dissipates almost as quickly as it appears.

Ranks

Tiandoran Fighter - 1
Type: Buff
Range: Summoned Weapons or Armor
Effect:A buff that makes weapons and armor lighter. Other stats, including recoil, sharpness, rate of fire are not affected. As the magic works by adding upward lift to the weapon, the strength of attacks are not affected, although it is not unlikely for it to affect long-distance attacks such as guns, bows and slingshots by using the magic while the weapon is loading, thus making the ammunition too light, and can cause inaccuracy.

Ranks

Skills: Strong magical knowledge [study], Tiandoran Agility[3] [Tiandore native]

[1] This document contains excerpts from DuFresne’s own records and her license application. That being said, in an attempt to best represent her personality and demeanor, along with her actual abilities, several of these excerpts are used in this report in their unedited form. Used appropriately, this can be used to prevent ill-suited recruits.

[2] N'sat: adj.; nʌ- sæt; slang term, a form of "nasty," describes something which is either: ugly, bad or intense, but "cool" [see similar: GNARLY]

[3] Tiandoran Agility allows Dufresne to move as naturally in Tiandoran gravity as any other native dweller of the area, avoiding pitfalls which non-native “tourists” often find while testing the limits of the altered gravity. This does not, however, make her more resilient to damage, or kickback on weapons.

Hello, let's get this show on the road!

Frankly, since a large part of your physical description is filler-y you should probably include things like skin tone, general body shape, specifics around your face (size of your nose/ears/lips for example) and such since it's a touch small at the moment.

Ke?

Your personality is a bit short, right now it only totals 8 lines and we need a minimum of 14 - maybe include things like goals and fears, likes and dislikes (food, habits, colours etc.) talents, further ways that she calms down or things that agitate her and the like.

Just to note - you'll need to actually include your ammunition in your items/equipment.

You swap between first- and third-person a little in some of your items, as an fyi.

The accuracy modifier is something I'm hesitant to accept on the "Lucky" pistol, even as a negative, especially since the specific number it's reduced by isn't given and all D-Rank items are completely plain and ordinary elsewise but if you tighten up the details (how much damage is needed, what's the modifier etc.) it might work out.

Your magic is currently lacking a tier, however since you've chosen Gravity as your ex-quip augment that means it is Tier 1. However your magic description mentions at once gravity abilities and then only details buffs so... is it gravity or buffing magic? Gravity magic is a lot more versatile so if it's that you'll need to include a larger list overall and if it's just buffs then the tier is 2.

When you do your techniques you can remove the (Name of technique) thing at the start - that's where the actual technique name goes instead.

[1]Tiandoran Agility allows Dufresne to move with incredible speed and agility while in Tiandore's gravity, due to her extensive time in it.

While this is an excellent flavour idea, normally skills/disciplines do not give any actual concrete abilities or additions - this would enter that territory and thus isn't allowed without further explanation.

I hope that helps!

You can actually[1] create notes to the bottom of your profile by using the [note][/note] tags around things you want noted at the bottom whilst writing.

Here's how it looks when writing the post

You still need ammunition in your items.

Your magic tier is 1.

As an ex-quip mage you require the basic "requip" technique.
[1] for example like this

Ask away; I have all the answers.

Tiandoran Fighter
-What kind of buffs are you talking about? As in statistics? And what do you mean at lower tier magics?
-No to the last part, mostly cause you can't go beyond rank 10.

that is detailed in the following section under the description, which is "Ranks". It details how much of the desired result is felt.

EDIT: I will change the descriptions to include stat bonuses

Right, just making sure I'm clear here, the reason I put it like that was because it was the best way I had to explain it. I didn't want her to just be able to go to enchanting s-class weapons, but I didn't want to introduce the idea until later levels... But... meh. I just wanted the option to add that functionality without tanking the balance of the ability.

Is there another way you could think of to do that? Anyways, I haven't changed anything in there yet, but I'll be goin' back here in a day or two.

The caster can apply buffs [Welterweight and below] to weapons and armor.

Since weapons and armour don't have stats I don't see why you would buff them.

Quote:

Lower tiers of magic [Lightweight and below] are now able to be felt by other Wizards

Does this mean can be applied to other mages? That's not an option available to ex-quip user buffs.

Dammit... OK, I think that's it now... I think I've officially had my whole profile gone over 3 times now... I am ready for a re-re-re-review.
