Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Fleurettes laughter tinkled through the forest as she danced about, carefree in her attitude as she skipped among the trees. She loved nature, it was the basis of her magic, the plants around her giving her energy as she listened to the wind whistle through the beautiful lavender leaves of Lavender forest, right outside the city of Poinsettia. She had told her father she'd be out for most of the afternoon and to not bother her while she was out with the communication Lacrima he had given her for her birthday.

She found a secluded spot next to a small waterfall, the blue water sparkling in the sunlight as she approached and she smiled, unable to stop from smiling as her magic surrounded her. "It's so pretty here" She said, not caring if anyone heard her. As she sat, she attempted a bit of her magic, trying to get it to flow more smoothly as she hadn't been really able to use a lot of it for a long time now. "Plant shield" she said softly, feeling the magic flow through her as she formed a shield of plants in front of her, leaving her backside exposed. Her outfit was it's usual skimpiness, not that the violet haired girl really seemed to notice, her skirt and shirt barely covering anything as she stood there next to the waterfall. I wonder if I'll find anyone here she wondered.

As Christmas drew closer and the weather more chill, Inara made a point of visiting almost all of the forests around Fiore. She had already been to the East Forest, just outside of Magnolia and now she had moved on to the Lavender forest, a personal favorite of hers. She smiled as she walked, hands brushing leaves of the Forest's namesake trees and enjoying their slight sweet scent. The sun was high overhead, creating warmth as it filtered through the branches of the trees, and giving Inara a moment's utter joy at the perfection of all of it. Over her arm was a gathering basket, the kind with a flat bottom and slight raised edges. Perfect for gathering herbs. She was experimenting with potion craft, and thought that now would be the time to gather one of the more elusive herbs.

She was already prepared to do a bit of climbing in order to reach her quarry. For the most part, she could have bought some in any given store this time of year. Mistletoe, people called it, and would hang it in doorways to kiss under it. But she needed a fresh harvest, and to cut the plant just so for her purposes. It was a sort of ritual she supposed. The plant was sacred to the Goddess Inara followed, and all of her readings said that it must be cut in winter, and must be cut by the one who intended to use it in a potion. Otherwise, the books warned, it could all go horribly wrong quite easily. So, she was fine with doing it herself. Just to be safe.

She spotted an old oak in the distance, her eyes on the branches which were thickly hung with with what she sought. She would have to cross a little stream, she noted. And the water was blue and sparkling. The small waterfall was lovely to see as it gleamed in the light. Had she not been paying attention, the Lavender hair of the girl sitting there might have blended too well with the trees. So might have her skimpy little outfit made out of leaves. But Inara had always been the attentive sort, so she saw the wee sprite where she sat a few meters away. Approaching quietly, she smiled before speaking. "Well hello there. How are you enjoying the forest this fine day, if I may inquire?"

Fleur almost jumped when she heard the voice of another woman nearby and she looked up to see a woman with long white hair on the other side of the river and she smiled at the question. Normally, she was not one who liked people per say but this woman seemed like she was enjoying the forest just as much as the plant mage was. She stood from where she'd sat and dusted herself off as the shield dropped from her side. She'd made it so that she wouldn't be noticed by anyone on this side of the river but she could be spotted by those across from her. She noticed the woman carrying a basket and she wondered what it was that was within that basket, perhaps rare herbs that only grew in the lavender forest?

"I'm enjoying it a lot thank you. It's so refreshing. How about yourself?" she called, approaching the river with the intent of crossing it. She had no issues with water, in fact, she liked water, it made her skin feel refreshed like she felt when she drank water. She grinned, her pretty green eyes lighting up at the prospect of perhaps finding another mage. "My name is Fleurette but please call me Fleur." she said, feeling the need to introduce herself properly.

Inara smiled at the girl, taking in her adorable, if somewhat skimpy, clothing as she stood. The plant shield went away, making Inara smile a bit wider. A fellow plant mage. Interesting. She wondered if the girl knew much about the forest. She had never seen her here before, but Inara traveled widely. There was no telling how long the girl had inhabited the forest, or if it was just chance she was here. As the girl made to cross the stream, Inara held up a hand. "I'm coming that way actually. There's an oak just there I need to get to. Nice to meet you Fleur. My name is Inara Serra." She hopped across a few rocks and quickly found herself on the other side of the stream.

"I had no expected to meet a fellow plant mage out here. The scenery of this forest makes it one of my favorites in all of Fiore." She smiled again, noting that Fleur's eyes were a slightly darker shade of green than her own. "You almost could blend right in amongst these trees with that lavender hair of yours." She laughed a little. "As for me, I am out gathering goldenwood. I am beginning to try my hand at potions at last, and it grows in abundance here." Goldenwood was a very special herb, growing in the branches of the tallest forest giants. It did not adhere to seasons, bearing leaves, buds and berries all at once. She hoped it wouldn't be too hard to reach. The oak looked formidable.

"If you wouldn't mind Fleur, do you think you might keep a lookout for me here on the ground while I climb? I don't think you could break my fall should something happen, but it might put me at ease to know someone will be here to fetch help should I fall from a great height." She might be able to save herself with her magic, should it come to that. But in case it didn't...

"Up to you of course. If you've things to do, I understand." She gave a smile, letting the girl know she wasn't pushing.

Fleur paused as the other girl, who introduced herself as Inara, held up her hand for her to stop, saying she had to come over to this side of the river anyways. Fleur nodded, liking this girl already before heading back to the side she'd came from and watched as Inara made her way across the river. Another Plant mage? The only plant Mage Fleur had ever met had been her mother and that was a few years ago.

She giggled slightly at the comment about her hair and nodded. "I suppose I forgot that my hair blends in. It's been so long since I've been here." she said. The girl said something about collecting Goldenwood, a plant that seemed to be abundant in this forest for making potions. Fleur had personally never really been into the whole potions thing, too many ways it could go wrong and cause damage in her opinion.

She kept the smile on her face as the woman asked if she would mind being a spotter of sorts while she gathered the herbs from the branches. "Of course, just be careful." she replied. She didn't know how effective she'd be at catching someone but she could cushion a fall if she had to. "I've been wandering around Fiore, finding the forests and secluded spots to practice my magic. What type of plant magic do you have, if I may ask?" she couldn't help but ask, her curiosity getting the better of her.

Inara swung herself up onto one of the lower branches o f the oak, and found herself hindered almost immediately by her choice of clothing. With a sigh she dropped back down, taking off her cloak, and tucking her skirt into her belt. She also took off her shoes, the feeling of the bare eargh beneath her toes a happy one. She smiled to herself, content to have this moment.

"Oh hmm?" She tuned back to Fleur, embarrassed she had zoned out for the time being. She recalled the question, and smiled again. "Oh Uhm...Its complicated. I become a tree nymph, is the basic explaination." She didn't think she would need to elaborate with a fellow plant mage, but just in case she spoke again, her hands moving to encompass herself and make her point. "I basically, turn into a tree girl." She turned back to the oak, her hands and feet much more capable of holding on without all of the previous hinderances.

She wiggled onto the first thick branch, then stood, choosing her footing carefully. She found that the branches of the grand oak made a sort of natural stairway, each branch almost perfectly fit for climbing up and around. She smiled and kept moving. It wasn't so very far to the goldenwood this way. It took about twenty minutes of steady climbing and balancing for her to reach her prize. After a bit she was within reach of it. She didn't look down, heights being something she didn't feel the need to take stock of.

She cut the branches of the plant quickly, sending up thanks to the goddess for her bounty. She managed to climb back down relatively easily, and she dropped back onto the ground in front of Fleur, thanking her. "It's a great help. I really do appreciate it." She put the goldenwood, at least a month's supply into her basket then took a seat beneath the old oak. "So, would you like some lunch?" She pulled from her bag a rather large broen bag, filled with sandwhiches. She had discovered a love of peanut butter and jelly, and she was happy to share if she could.

Fleur watched in mild fascination as the girl scaled the tree after taking off her shoes and tucking her skirt into her belt. Fleur wasn't overly worried that the girl would fall, most plant mages seemed to have pretty good balance and she listened with interest as Inara explained that she became a tree lady. It sounded like something that would be cool to see for herself.

She sat under the tree as the other girl gathered what she needed before climbing back down and Fleurette smiled at her. It was nice to meet a fellow plant mage who adored nature as much as she did.

"It's a great help I appreciate it" Inara said and Fleur nodded. It wasn't a big deal as it wasn't like she was really needed anywhere at that exact moment. She leaned back against the tree before she heard the other girl ask if she would like some lunch. Normally, Fleur didn't eat a lot, most of what she ate came from nature itself but when she looked over, she saw the girl had sandwhiches and Fleur couldn't help but nod as her stomach growled a bit. She hadn't planned on having lunch, planning to pick berries if she did get hungry but she couldn't decline the generous offer, it would be rude.

"Thank you." she said, her green eyes meeting Inaras. It was odd being around another person as she usually avoided people but she had managed to find a few decent people. Perhaps she could find a friend in the other plant mage. "Your magic sounds interesting. I simply manipulate plants and things although I hope eventually, once my magic is stronger, I will be able to become a plant." she said softly.

Inara smiled at the girl. "Well yes. I noticed you did that. I...More bring nature with me wherever I go. I could be in a bustling city and still use my magic satisfactorily." She took a bite of her sandwich and chewed quickly. "Still, you're the only other plant mage I've ever met. So its nice, meeting someone who lives through nature like I do."

She wiggled her bare toes in the earth, luxuriating in the softness and the niceness. She was happy to have a non stressful day. She wasn't sure what to say after that though. A sort of awkward silence stretched out between them, two introverts trying to make friends. Awkward was probably the best they could hope for.

Inara finished off her sandwich as the silence drug out. She wondered if maybe Fleur was feeling the awkwardness too. So to break the silence Inara spoke. "So what are you doing out here anyway?" She probably didn't have a specific reason, but it never hurt to ask Inara reasoned. "You joined a guild yet?" Seemed like a good follow up question.

She smiled. It was quite nice to meet another plant mage, someone she could relate to because inall honesty, no one really understood Fleurs love of plants or why she refused to sleep inside. She took a few bites of the sandwhich as the two sat in what seemed like an awkward silence. Fleur had never really been a social butterfly and in fact usually preferred to stay away from people but she could tell that this woman was good.

After what seemed like a long stretch of awkward silence, Inara finally broke the silence, asking what she was doing out here and whether she was part of a guild. Fleur took a moment before answering her questions. "I decided to come out here because I cannot stand being in the city honestly. Not enough nature. To answer your other question, I am a freelance mage. I haven't joined a guild yet but perhaps in the future I will. I don't know yet though. What about you?" the return of the question seemed to be a natural response to her.

Inara smiled at the answer. She could see the girl was naturally as awkward as she herself was. "I actually came out here specifically to gather this plant. But this is one of my favorite places in Fiore. I hate cities also. My home actually sits on a track of land just outside of Tessera, simply because living in the city wasn't something I wanted to do."

She took a few more monuted and looked out over the woods. "I'm not usually one who socializes well. I'm...odd I suppose." She laughed a little. "As far as guilds go, I am in QC. It was just a good fit for me honestly." She finished off her sandwich and took a long drink of water from her bottle.

She was about to stand up and ready herself to leave. Unfortunately, at that moment a group of bandits came rushing out of the forest to the left. They had long spears, and aimed them at both women. Apparently their conversation hadn't been heard, or the men were just dumb. Inara wasn't sure which. Either way, they were soon surrounding by three men, all of them looking terribly mean and horribly unclean to boot. "Get behind me Fleur!" She called out at the same time as the leader spoke for the first time.

"Give us all yer money and come along peacefully. Two pretty girlies like you would go for a fine price in the Merchant's Guild."

Inara smiled, a bit coldly. "Just stay behind me Fleur, keep your back to the tree." she made a gesture and a large magic circle appeared beneath her feet, Fleur in the clear area behind her. "Stay away from the edges okay. Only stay in the clear area"
