The holiday season was upon them! Even among the busy and ever active streets of Belladonna city! The majority of the lacrima tipped buildings were now aglow with green and red lights, magical twinkling in the air that everyone could enjoy. But it was a big festival occuring in the city. Lamia Scale's Winter Solstice.

Why Winter Solstice? It was one of the traditional origins of the holiday seasons. Despite what many said and believed, Christmas was adapted to the date of this time as ancient religions believed the time of the darkest day of the year-- to celebrate the preservation of light and the triumph of life over death. Over time, it became what others knew as Christmas, celebrated with big bearded men in red suits giving presents, trees decorated in lights and ornaments, giving, and other warm family sentiments that made everything worth while.

In interest to these true origins and honoring all the equivalents for this time of year, Lamia Scale created a large cultural festival as well as a variety of many holiday attractions! An entire section of the city's level was rented out to the guild to prepare for the event. Near the Xmas tree, was Rhonin Arcadia-- one of Lamia Scale's archive mages. The young mage willingly volunteered to help out decorate. The fairground was already abuzz with visitors but there was still alot of work to do.

Right now Rhonin was flying near a tree-- held up by his Exceed feline companion Tigger. The orange-stripped Exceed critter used his magic wings to lift Rhonin up for a bit of time as he hung ornaments in place. "Are you excited your family is coming to visit, Rhonin? I don't think I ever met them aside your father?"

Rhonin hung up a bunch of red ornament spheres along the branches of a tree. It was a real Evergreen tree the guild found and brought down from the forests. It was a good three stories tall. And one of four they had to decorate. "Yeah I guess. I mean sometimes it can be a bit intense..." Rhonin said as he sounded detach from the topic.

"You don't get along well with them?" TIgger asked, perplexed.

"No, I love them alot. We get along well..." Rhonin said as he hung up the last sphere he had in his arms. "Just things with my brother can be a bit competitive to say the least. Escalates easily."

"Ah, some sibling rivalry I see eh?" Tigger teased as he slowly began to descend to let Rhonin go.

"T-This place is amazing!" Jaxus let out an exasperated yell, donning his brown leather jacket and flat cap to protect him from the winter weather. He didn't walk, but jogged in excitement as he sped jogged through the high up cat walks, mouth agape and eyes alight with curiosity and Christmas cheer. Jaxus was never too talented at magic, so in his time licking his wounds from a lack of success, his curious nature had resulted in a decent understanding of how Lacrima work. Yet, in the sight of the green and red lit majesty of the city, his knowledge could hold not even a handle. It was a truly marvelous sight.

"O--Oooooo!" The small framed boy's eyes lit up with excitement as he spotted something very interesting, the tip of a huuuge Christmas tree! "Detour time.~ Eheh.~" With a spirited kick off the ground, Jaxus took off to the towering evergreen. Galvanized by his natural curiosity, Jaxus had completely forgotten the reason he had come in the first place. The boy had been traveling for more than a good few months now, yet, he was always on the move, and never had a place to return to. Well...he had his old home, but then his old man would chew him out for wanting to be a mage. He had decided to join a guild, and the technologically savvy, well educated guild of Lamia Scale, which encouraged having an inquisitive mind seemed like the perfect place for someone as curious as him.

"...E-Eheh...Finally..." Arriving at the tree shortly, Jaxus hunched over on his knees as he attempted to regain his breath, panting with exhaustion. Though, a strange thing occurred as he regained his breath, and the boy's backpack began to emit the smallest, just barely visible emission of red and green light, just like the lights in the city as a wide smile spread across the boy's face.

"This is...so cool..." In shock and awe, Jaxus looked up into the tree as a strong feeling of Christmas spirit passed over him. Just then, however, Jaxus' eyes opened in surprise as he found an odd surprise. A blonde haired kid in a long red jacket who wasdecorating the tree with...a flying cat?!? "OIII!" Jaxus, acting before thinking like usual, raised his arm to offer the two a wave with an exuberant yell. "THAT'S A REALLY COOL CAT! HOW CAN I GET ONE?!" While said in a friendly, earnest tone, the comment may have also come off as insulting, as Jaxus in his excitement hadn't even thought of the possibility that the cat could talk itself.

Tigger lowered Rhonin back to the ground and the cat fluttered in the air, his areo wings giving him a bit more of a eye reach with those he spoke to. As Rhonin was about to get another handful of ornaments to put on the tree, someone new approached him! The boy was roughly around Rhonin's own age, his hair was a strange color of grey and had green eyes. He looked like someone who spent his time in the wilderness or rural areas of Fiore. Rhonin looked at him in mind confusion as he was very cheerful as he approached them.

He was extremely surprised by Tigger as he fluttered in the air. For someone to never see a flying talking cat before, it probably was a surprise. Rhonin did feel the same way when he first met Tigger, and couldn't help but give him a hug. He only learned later that he was an Exceed, a cat-like race of magical creatures similar to fairies or imps. They had a very simplistic means of living, but their magic allowed them to fly.

Tigger heard the boy's responce but seemed a bit touchy about it. "Hey! I ain't no common house pet. The name's Tigger. T-I-double G-ER!" he said, a little catch phrase he said often for his own amusement. No telling how this person would respond to him talking like this.

"Yeah... its not something you GET, you know?" Rhonin explained to the new person. "Are you here visiting the festival?" the Lamia Scale mage asked.

"E-Eh..?" Jaxus froze for a moment, mouth dropping in awe as the cat began to speak. The cat was talking, the flying cat, was talking. Yep, it was going to be pretty hard to top this one. Despite being caught off guard, however, he quickly recovered form the shock, raising his arms up into the air in a defensive, passive way, palms open and faced towards the oddly colored exceed. "Oi, oi, sorry, didn't know, I swear.~" The boy merely grinned with a childishly wide smile, sincerity in his voice as he apologized for offending the cat.

Before he could say something else, however, he found the other one, who the cat was holding had spoken faster than he had, leaving him to look to Rhonin with an oddly confused look, blinking repeatedly as he attempted to think about what Rhonin meant. "Wait...what's not to get? ...It's T-i-double g...e...r...right...?" Considering the cat had wings, Jaxus honestly found the cat's name and catchphrase the most clear thing about them so far. As Rhonin brought up the festival, Jaxus' merely chuckled in response, giving a gentle nod. "Well, kinda, I honestly came here to check out the Lamia Scale guild, but then I saw this tree and...eheh." With a light chuckle, the boy blushed lightly as he nervously rubbed the back of his head, indirectly admitting to his rather short attention span.

RHonin was amused to see the guy known as Jaxus baffled by Tigger talking. It was natural in the end for such a reaction. RHonin shrugged and smiled, seeing the two converse. Tigger was alot nicer than he pretended to be. He just tried to be strong and on guard for Rhonin's own safety. Though he was a growing and powerful mage, he was not the combat oriented type.

"He's an Exceed. He's my friend. You heard of them right? Exceeds the small cat races? They are similar to fairies or so people say," RHonin tried to explain so Tigger wouldn't be mistaken as a simple pet. Still, even he was moved to pet and hug the cuddily cat when he was not uptight.

After things calmed down, Rhonin listened to Jaxus as he continued to explain why he came here. He apparently was interested in Lamia Scale of the guild. Rhonin smiled at this. "Well, you are in luck. The celebration here is being runned and promoted by Lamia Scale. This is a good chance to learn more about the guild while the celebrations is under way. I'm a member too if you have any questions? '

As they talked, Rhonin made his way down the street. He still had things to check out as the festivities were going to start around the evening time. As the festivites were going up, there were a few stalls ready-- games prepared to test magic or utalize items to do it. (Attempts to allow me to archive magic if you are ready)

"Ex...ceed?" Jaxus looked to Rhonin with a confused expression, blinking repeatly, mouth slightly agape as he processed the information. "Aie, well.~" Jaxus merely shrugged, giving the two a childish, wide grin. "Makes sense I guess.~" Really, Jaxus had no idea what he was talking about, but he wanted it to sound like he did. "Sorry bout' that, Tigger.~" He waved slightly to the cat with a chuckle, before Rhonin mentioned who the host of the very event was, his eyes going wide.

"R-Really?! Awesome!" Jaxus chuckled lightly as Rhonin lead his down the street, quickly picking up pace with a goofy smile. "Oi.~ Oi.~ I forgot to even say, my name's Jaxus by the way.~ Nice to meetcha' both.~" Jaxus chuckled, offering his hand to the two, as if offering a handshake. It may have been abit hard for Tigger, but Jaxus assumed it would be rude to only offer the gesture to one of them.

"So, I mean, what can ya' tell me about it? I heard their really savvy with magical knowledge and all that, it actually sounds really cool.~ Like...are many of the people there friendly?" Jaxus inquired. A brief time would pass in their stroll, before Jaxus' eyes picked out an odd game from the ground. "H-Huh...?"

"HERE YEE! HERE YEE! STEP RIGHT UP!" A large built man in a red and white striped sui spun a cane rapidly as he called to all passerby's, young and old. "Take a "swiing" at this classic game. Hit the target, win a prize~" Strutting back and forth with a proud gain, the man attempted to rally people to test their strength in a test of might. It was a simple machine, really. Powered by Lacryma, straight forward in it's engineering, the game was nothing more than a cube, a straight, metal arm sticking out of the side, and a punch mat with a rather decent amount of padding. Upon the mat laid a red, inverse fist symbol, as if attempting to tell someone to match the fingers of the game exactly.

"Oi, oi, that looks cool.~ Eheh! Oi, Rhonin, Tigger, mind if we hold up a second?~ I want to test somethin' out.~" Jaxus chuckled ever so lightly as he said this, pointing his thumb over his back towards the game. It was a game, about punching things. There was no way Jaxus would forgive himself if he passed this up, even for the sake of getting information on a guild.

As they walked and talked-- RHonin could tell Jaxus was not from around here. He appeared to be from a more rural area. The fact he didn't know what an Exceed was seemed curious. Though then again, flying talking cats was not exactly a common occurrence. Some people could just not know what they were, let alone their proper name as a species. They just think-- "cat" hence Tigger's little outburst now and then for being confused with a common cat.

Though he behaved no different than one of course :P .

"Its nice to meet you, Jaxus. I'm Rhonin. Rhonin Arcadia," he said and shook his hand. Tigger also reached up and shooked his hand as well. Surprising, the miniature Tiger Exceed had a strong grip.

Before long, they stopped at a shooting gallery for people to play at. Asking to stop and give it a shot, Jaxon asked if it is okay. "Sure I don't mind. Though if its okay with you, may I see you use your magic? I would love to archive it for my collection. Seeing others magics in action really help me learn more spells that are similar to it." he explained.

As Jaxus got ready to show his stuff, Rhonin activated his eye of Ansuz, the blue rune glowing to life in his left eye as he soon looked to see what would happen as his new friend took his crack at the carnival game they had set up.

(Eye of Ansuz is now activated)

Jaxus chuckled gently as Tigger had indeed shook his hand, really, he kept forgetting that tigger had wings. These Exceeds, as they seemed to be called, for but a forgein novelty to him, a new experience in his constantly growing travels. It certainly wasn't a bad one, however. "Archive...?" Jaxus asked with an inquisitive, puzzled expression, his mouth shifting side to side as he brought his right hand over his chin, deep in thought. It was an odd question, he didn't even know what the boy meant by Archiving. Yet...It was odd. The boy had asked his permission, and with all these games, it was more than likely he would have used his magic once or twice anyway. So then, what could Jaxus assume about this Lamia Scale member.

"Eheh.~ Well, if someone ever asks, do me a favor and tell em' it was a Jaxus Morbane original.~" Jaxus laughed as he said this, adding in his own last name to the introductions to be polite. What he made of it was, is that he trusted this Rhonin, and Jaxus knew the instinct of curiosity himself all too well. "Prepare to see somethin' special.~ Eheh.~" His laugh slowly turning into a chuckle, the boy brought to fingers up to his forehead, pressing them off towards Rhonin in a two finger salute before finishing with a peace sign. Really, the boy seemed to have a huge thing for theatrics. To his chagrin, however, he had to daringly stand in line and heroically pay for a ticket before he could do any real showmanship.

"Oi.~ Oi.~ I can punch this thing anyway I want, right?~"

"Anywhere you want boy'o, anywhere you want.~" The man replied in an energetic fashion.

"Anywhere?"

"Anywhere!~"

"...Anywhere?~"

"Yes! Just hurry up and punch it already kid, geez!" The man finally griped out, finding the boy's question entirely stupid and nonsensical. The light pad on the mat had the fist mark on it, and the rest of the device was hardened metal. There was no one stupid enough to punch the metal bar directly, not even this kid.

"...Alright then.~" Jaxus innocently quipped with a shrug, turning to the device. The metal bar came outside of the cube, with a level bar which started from the middle of the cube, wrapping around to the middle of the next side. Roughly, it device seemed to be able to wrap around just abit over a meter in length. Perfect."Eheh.~" Jaxus mischeviously grinned as he slammed his clenched fist into his outstretched, before lunging forward straight at the pad, slamming his fist right into the outer most corner edge. FWAP! Jaxus pressed forth all of his body weight into the strike, pressing the mat roughly a foot back before taking a sharp inhale. "NIKKOU BASUTA!" RRGGUUNNNCH! Suddenly activating his magic, a bright flash of yellow white light would ignite the scene as the sound of warping metal echoed through the city streets.

BEEEEP! The square suddenly shot fourth a holographic image, with the number thirteen on display. Terrible. That was his score, that was all there was to it. "

"Ahahah! Too bad for you kid, no prize for you.~" As the man unconvered his eyes, he chuckled and laughed at the kids pathetic score.

"...But what bout' that?" Jaxus looked to the man with an entirely, confused expression, slowly raising his arm to point to the metal bar, causing the large man's eyes to shoot open in shock. The bar actually bent!

"N-NAANNNIIII!??" The man stuttered in an exasperated fashion, crouching forward as his arms fell limply to his side as he gazed at the sizable bend in the bar.

"...Can I have the big one?~" Jaxus replied in an innocent, childish tone with a wide grin, pointing to the largest prize on the stack.

"NO! YOU CAN'T HAVE THE BIG ONE! GO AWAY!" The man yelled at the top of his lungs, completely fed up with the boy's shennanegins, shaking his cane at the boy.

"B-But..."

"GO! AWAY!" The man yelled, pointing his cane to the boy.

"...Awww..."

Jaxus childishly whined as he was dismissed and told he would not get his prize, crossing his arms and turning his head down with a pout as he walked off stage, receiving afew odd looks from the crowd on the way down as he re-approached Rhonin. Unfortunately, the boy had a knack for breaking things. Taking a deep sigh, Jaxus exhaled as he managed to calm himself. After all, Rhonin wanted to see his magic. "So, what'cha think? I'm a genius, right?~" Jaxus laughed as he said this, and in the backround over his shoulder, an exasperated game host threw his hat to the ground and yanked his hair, attempting to figure out how to fix the disaster the boy had just caused. Perhaps...genius was a strong word, to say the least.

The boy desired fame and prestige, however, and the chance to strut his stuff made him feel oddly good. Really simply put, this was feeding his ego and boosting his confidence in it's own way. If Rhonin had truly analyzed the spell, he would have saw that the secondary explosion of light was what forcibly pushed the mat, not the first, physical strike. Due to this, the heavy, concussive forces behind the strike were most likely apparent to the young archive mage by now. Secondly, he had struck the very edge of the target to apply a lever arm motion, and give him more leverage. Thirdly, he punched the target and pushed it, then used the spell with proper timing to further push the target back. Using all three of these, he achieved a feat that he would have never normally been capable of.

Rhonin watched as Jaxus went to the booth. As he and Tigger observed the interactions between Jaxus and the man running the game, it was clear that Jaxus had a rather... interesting personality. He appeared in his teens but seemed to have a far more youthful and inexperienced light to him. He was almost childish and pretty much just doing things that irritated people. Tigger had a glum expression on his face as he witnessed Jaxus just act like a man-child. "Well... he certainly is an odd one," The mini tiger told Rhonin beside him.

RHonin just gave a small laugh, a sweat drop on the side of his head. "Well... at least he is optimistic, right?" he replied as they saw him about to use his magic.

As he went to the shooting range about to hit the target, he produced spheres of golden light. With his gesture, he sent them flying into the target, where they impacted and broke into it. RHonin was impressed as his rune eye flashed with magic, taking in the sight and magic shown. He used a strong form of light magic. It was odd to see someone so 'simple' but with such a powerful magical talent.

And once again, he went right back to being the chummy innocent self as he argued with the attendant to try and get a bigger prize, and failed. Needless to say, Rhonin and Tigger were confused by the guy. They exchanged glances as they soon saw Jaxus return to them.

"Well... that was interesting," Rhoniin said, his glowing left eye still glowing with the magical rune. Answering Jaxus, RHonin smiled. "That's good magic talent you have. Though I would beg to differ if the game attendant agrees."

"Yuh-huh, thank ya'.~ He's just grumpy because I figured his game out though.~" Jaxus offered a smug, childish grin as Rhonin complimented his magic, arms crossed and eyes closed before bringing his attention to Rhonin, flashing his hand to give the boy and Tigger a palm forward peace sign. "Sides, it doesn't matter how hard ya' punch it, it's where.~ Anyone worth their knuckles weight in gold knows that.~" With a slight chuckle, the boy made a rather poor analogy. Despite his simplicity, he at least seemed to know combat on a more detailed level, if nothing else. Perhaps it was clear now, he asked not to annoy the man, but so that he could punch it in the right location for the largest blowback effect.

"E-Eh...?" As Jaxus finished his chuckle, he noticed the off, glowing rune in Rhonin's left eye, causing him to momentarily stare as if baffled. "...Cool eye.~" Suddenly, his smile turned into a wide grin, gently closing his eyes as he focused his magic. //Nikkougan!~// Jaxus gently opened his eyes, looking to Rhonin, revealing them not to be a deep emerald, but a pale, eerie yellow, which seemed to ever so slightly glow in the dark. "I got some special eyes' myself, ya know.~ Eheheh.~" As Jaxus chuckled, obviously finding his chance to show off rather amusing, closed his eyelids once more, revealing pupils of a deep emerald color when he opened them once more. "So, mind me askin' what this..."archive" stuff is while we walk? Never heard of it before.~" Jaxus casually tucked his hands behind his head, elbows outstretched as he gave the two a casual, childish grin, before turning back to the streets, hoping Rhonin and Tigger were still willing to continue their chat. After all, Jaxus wanted to find another game to destro-...uh, win.~
