The smoke mage did his best to make sure that their exact position wouldn't be found along with securing the van with a barrier but it looked like that the lightning explosion was indeed a very strong one. The shockwave should have pushed the van forward as they should have gain a few distance between their obvious pursuers but in the end the van did suffer a bit of damage due to the shockwave of the lightning explosion. The van is still intact though and it looked like everyone is still alive and well, even those above the van but it looked like that Clubs might have dislocated his shoulders. "You should bring him back down and try to fix that shoulder of his. We still have the distance against them but we need to figure out a plan to take them down. It would be difficult for us if they continue their pursuit until we reach Trillium and do the performance." the smoke mage said as he soon turned to the other guards. "First we should figure out a way to take down the katana guy. He seemed to be the one protecting them with his weapon though the rest seemed far dangerous as they have the offensive capability of ending our trip there." the smoke mage added. Turning towards the back, the smoke mage wondered what they should do right now. The three motorist are still on their back and due to the massive fire and explosion, most vehicle should already vacate the street as they don't want to get involved or get affected by the collateral damage done by the three motorist. Thinking about it, the smoke mage decided to do something to slow down the motorist and maybe Hearts might be able to land a shot. "Hearts, try to take aim at them and keep an eye on them. I will try something and if you see a clear shot, you can take them down or at least take down their vehicle." the smoke mage said as he once again started to intake some smoke from his weapon. He soon puffed out smoke and spread it outside on the road as it soon solidify leaving behind the van a whole bunch of smoke caltrops, colored in a way that would blend on the ground. With the smoke caltrops, this should at least slow down the three motorist chasing them or at best take down their tires and leaving them open for Hearts to shot down. Also the smoke mage made sure to add some special effect on the smoke caltrops that just in case the three motorist did try to avoid it. It should explode when they avoid it, which the explosion would either take them down or at least give an opening to Hearts. Summary

Under the precise fire of the sniper, the trio of mages that were in hot pursuit of the van and the band members inside had their hands full. After all, his marksmanship was nothing to sneeze at and one wrong move could see the motorcycle destroyed, or one of them losing their heads. With Jester exhausted from his all or nothing lightning attack, that meant that the momentum had sifted for the time being so that they were on the back foot... ...Which is how they completely failed to notice the smoke mage's cleverly disguised ambush and they drove straight over them, causing a hefty explosion of smoke that engulfed them- making it impossible for the sniper to see them- but also flipped the motorcycle and sent all of them crashing into the road in a tangle of arms, legs and curses as the Van continued on its way having earned a temporary reprieve from its pursuers. But it wouldn't be the last they'd seen of Jester, Flint and Cross. Meanwhile, back in the Van the body guards would be tending to their fellow with the injured arm as best they could, though their methods of 'first aid' were almost as bizarre as their morning exercises as they tugged, pulled, pushed and prodded the injured limb in a very painful looking attempt at pushing it back into place. In fact, it might be a good idea for Toshiro to step in and do it himself for the sake of the poor sod who might end up with an irreparably damaged arm otherwise... In any event, the Van would proceed unhindered for the rest of its way to Trillium until at least they reached the city gates and was stopped at the front gate for a routine check. "What's your business in Trillium?" The guard asked, sounding more bored than suspicious as he went through the standard routine questions for whoever was driving. |

The smoke mage tried to plan it out and make sure that these pursuers wouldn't be able to follow them, or at least take them down. The smoke mage planned out multiple traps and strategies that moment, trying to make sure that he will take down the three pursuers. Taking note of the surroundings and situation, the three motorist have exhausted most of their offensive capability and could only do defence with the katana guy. So the smoke mage made sure to take them down indirectly as the katana guy was able to deflect their attacks. Making traps using his smoke magic, Toshiro planned to take down their vehicles while Hearts shot at them distracting them. Due to this, they didn't noticed the smoke caltrops prepared for them which immediately disabled their motorcycle, flinging them like ragdolls as they soon end their pursuit with the van. The van would immediately zoom away from their view as Toshiro should get their victory by losing their pursuers as they continue to proceed to Trillium. "Good work guys, I think we lost them there." the smoke mage said as they have lost the three motorist from their trail. On their way there was uneventful outside though inside, it looked like Clubs really needed the medical attention. The group didn't know much about first aid as they tried their best to pop the dislocated shoulders back. The smoke mage couldn't help but interfere with their antics as he decided to do it himself. It is a good thing that the smoke mage know a bit or two about first aid due to his survival skills, otherwise they might be in trouble. "Allow me to do it, I know a bit or two about how to do this properly... now hold still..." the smoke mage said as he approached the man and apply what he knows about it. It didn't take that long before the arm is back to where it was and is moving normally without any other injuries. It aches a bit but it should be fine for the guy as they are now on their way to Trillium. As they proceed to the city, they were stopped the guards due to some routine inspection. The group should have some papers with them regarding their activity, or at least some documents to show regarding check point, as Toshiro would turn his attention to the leader of the guards Spades. "I guess you should be handling this one." the smoke mage said as he should know what to do. |

Spades nodded and took the lead as the guard proceeded to go through the usual questions that all travelers passing through the main gate had to answer to be deemed safe to allow entry. "What business do you have in Trillium?" The guard asked "We're escorting musicians to a performance", Spades replied. "Do you have any illegal substances or contraband" "Would we seriously tell you if we did?" Spades laughed, but the guard didn't look amused and the guard sighed. "No, nothing illegal", he answered properly. A few more questions and a few more failed attempt at humor later, the van was waved through and the group was able to enter Trillium at long last. It was late afternoon by now and the group's first port of call would be to find a place to stay. Obviously the band members could all sleep inside the van itself, but for the four body guards plus the smoke mage, other accommodations would need to be sought. Once they were organised however, they would find themselves with some time to kill as the performance was scheduled for midday the next day and the band members were hardly content to spend their free time stuck in the van that they'd nearly died in at least twice already. So it would be up to Toshiro to book them a place to stay for the night, as the other guards were excellent warriors and... well... terrible at everything else and the band members wouldn't dream of doing such menial chores themselves. Then it would be a matter of escorting the band members through the town for a few hours and protect them from both potential attackers... and from themselves. It truly was hard being the only responsible one at times. |

The van finally arrived at their destination and after a brief moment of questioning, they were finally able to enter Trillium. They were all in such a haste to get there as the smoke mage even readied himself to action just to protect the group. As soon as the smoke mage is about to get ready to give orders and probably assign possible good vantage points from the other bodyguards, he was soon interrupted by the others. It seemed that the schedule was a bit messed up, or probably misread by them, that it seemed that their performance would be the next day. Well they did drive there fast enough to kill enough of hours and they have misread the schedule thinking it was today. Hearing about the schedule, the smoke mage somewhat started to get relax seeing he thought that their performance was that day when they arrive. Everything about schedule and stuff is just a misunderstanding between him and Spades but it should be alright. With that all cleared out, they have time to spare in Trillium but this also meant that more time to be on guard for the client. The performers might get assaulted in the city seeing some people don't approve of their performance so they still need to go into a low profile mode. One couldn't be sure on what side does the guild that reside in Trillium think about their performance but it might be better not to inform them about it. "I guess if we are looking for a place to stay, then it should be in a place that wouldn't caught anyone's suspicions in the group. Also I do hope you guys have some sort of disguise to avoid being notice by the public?" the smoke mage spoke up turning towards the rest of the performers as he does assume they know they are celebrities and they should put on something that wouldn't attract anyone's attention. "I do know and can understand that you are all celebrities but there are those who might go after to sabotage the concert by attacking you directly." the smoke mage added. The smoke mage isn't saying this as a way to scare off the group but rather to protect them. They should know that someone is after their lives and the three that were after them were dark guild mages. They could be from the same guild that reside in Trillium which mean there could be more of them. So the five should be able to hold themselves from entertaining their fans right after their performance tomorrow. The smoke mage just hoped that the rest cooperate and soon after that they should be able to secure a hotel without indicating the group's identity. |

The band paused upon their lead body guard voiced his concerns and looked at each other and then back to Toshiro. "Look man, you do what you gotta do. That's what we're paying you for. But we're going to hit the town and being famous means we get VIP entry, free drinks and easy women., Why the heck would we give that up by hiding?" This sentiment was clearly shared by all of the members, whom had become accustomed to having everything done for them. From damage inflicted to hotel rooms during booze fueled after parties to paying to organising 'lump sum payments' to make pregnant groupies go away. They'd worked hard (arguably) for this lifestyle and in their eyes they felt that all they had to do was perform and throw money at all their problems. After all, it was money that brought Toshiro here to guard them so they weren't entirely wrong in their way of thinking. Without pause for further discussion, the men departed down the street loudly discussing their intent to visit the wandering vagabond- a prominent nightclub- and a certain blue haired waitress. This left Toshiro to find the room all by himself whilst all of the other body guards except for clubs opted to 'escort' the band members. Clubs had lost in a drawing of straws and therefore elected to drive the caravan to wherever Toshiro elected to stay for the night. So it was up to the smoke range to get this out of the way as quickly as possible so that he could keep his fellow guards and more importantly his VIP's that he'd been hired to protect out of too much michief. |

It seemed that discussion is out of the question between the band members as they are pretty keen on doing what they want where ever they are. They won't be hiding or putting on disguise and instead would party out and do what they want to do to have fun before doing their concert the next day. Hearing about this, the smoke mage couldn't really do anything about it except to do what he is hired to do and this is to be their bodyguard. Well for now though, he was given the task of getting a place for the band members to stay though not without giving out his opinion first. "Alright but can you at least do just one thing if possible, try to stay in one place and don't get too far away. This way it would be easier to protect all of you just in case something happened." the smoke mage said hoping that the group would at least follow that request. After that it seemed that the other bodyguards, except for Clubs, would be guarding the group all the while Clubs will be driving the smoke mage to get a place to stay. "Just inform us if anything happens alright." the smoke mage informed the other bodyguards hoping that nothing would happen. The smoke mage doesn't want to be out of his client's sight especially if he is supposed to be protecting them but this was their instruction. "Well we better get a good place fast so we can return to guarding them." the smoke mage said to Clubs as they should be able to find a good place to stay. Basically a place with good security and doesn't really attract much attention along with possible protection. Well a place with a good place of protection should be somewhere near the local knight's station. This way it wouldn't be likely to be attacked since there are knights nearby. Who would try to go attack a place near them anyway, unless people who are psychopaths. Hopefully this is the best protected place there is within the city though and discreet enough for not anyone to notice. After securing a room, the smoke mage should be able to get into contact with the rest to continue his duty. |

OOC While the smoke mage and Clubs dithered away wondering where they should book their room for the night, the band members and the other guards had made their way into the entertainment district of the city, which was one of the first to be completed in the grand reconstruction project after the city had been all but demolished by the Queen dragon over a year ago. This included staples like casino's- featuring slot machines, copious amounts of booze and various other ways to lose your shirt- strip joints, restaurants, tattoo parlous and many other novelty shops catering to the interests of every conceivable individual. of course, being rich and famous the band members zeroed in on the casino and were promptly taken to the VIP area reserved for high rollers where a steady flow of strong booze served by scantily clad women encouraged their spending- as if they needed encouraging in the first place. As for the band members guards, they were at least professional enough to refuse the offer of any alcohol... at least at first. But their guard was certainly lowered in this high end suite surrounded by women that were all but naked and swung their hips in all the right ways and so before too long they too succumbed to the complimentary drinks on offer. But unbeknownst to them, amongst the women was one in particular who bore the group ill and had been paid off by the same people that had hired the thugs who had already given their best effort in stopping this performance from happening. if Toshiro didn't arrive quickly, then he may find himself too late to stop her from making her move as she was slipping small amounts of a poison that would render the band members- and ideally their guards as well- defenseless whilst being masked by the typical symptoms of drinking too much. |

It must be some a lucky day for the smoke mage as he managed to find a good hotel which is near the knight's station. Well this should be something seeing all the unlucky thing that happened to them on their way there something good should at least happened. The rooms are pretty average though it does have a solid structure and from the look of it, the staff is pretty nice and aren't affiliated with the dark guild there. They managed to get a room with no windows, so no possible snipers or intruder could enter and the only entrance is the door, this would make a good place for the band members to stay. They also got another room right in front of the room which should serve as the bodyguard's. Toshiro could stay with the band members room for added protection. After booking a room and securing the place, the smoke mage and Clubs should go back and return to the rest of the group. Clubs was contacted by the other guards informing them where they are. From what Toshiro could understand from Clubs, they are in some sort of casino having fun there. Toshiro isn't entirely too keen about that idea but it seemed that the guards couldn't do much what the members want. After hearing that, he decided that they should get there fast and let them rest for their performance tomorrow. "We better head there right now Clubs, I don't want them being too in the open especially they are being targeted." Toshiro said to Clubs as they should head towards the casino right away. They should soon arrived at the casino as the smoke mage decided to pick up the band members along with the other bodyguards. They still have a big day tomorrow and he can't let them get drunk or too tired to perform the next day. It is a good thing that Club was informed on where the group are exactly as the smoke mage head there immediately. The smoke mage went to the VIP area of the casino, there he saw the group doing what they want. From gambling to drinking and this is not good. Toshiro approached them and first starts getting the glasses from the bodyguard stopping them from drinking. "You guys shouldn't be drinking here especially anyone could be an opponent. Besides, I found us a place and we better head there. They have a big day tomorrow." Toshiro said as he prevent the other guards from drinking and telling them to get the rest of the band members. Toshiro then approached the rest as he tried to tell them that they should stop now and could always continue tomorrow once their performance is over. "Alright guys, we better leave. I don't want you guys to get drunk before the big day. So no more drinking and we need to go back for you guys to rest." Toshiro said to the band members while taking their drinks away. Toshiro won't let them get any hangover tomorrow which would probably ruin their performance and he cannot let that happen. Summary

The Smoke mage's arrival was nothing if not well timed, for the wanna be assassins were not suited for face to face confrontation and with the man's discerning eyes upon them they quickly decided that this attempt had been foiled and it would be up to their brethren to finish the job once and for all when the morrow came. So it was that the band members and the other body guards made it through another close call without being nay the wiser. "Alright muuuum, have it your way", the members grumbled drunkenly as they allowed themselves to be herded back towards the inn where Toshiro had booked their accommodation. It wasn't exactly a 5 star hotel, but nor was it horribly dilapidated either. Not that the members of the band were in any state to notice as they shuffled through the ground floor and up to the third floor suite where enough beds for their entire party had been set up at Toshiro's request for a room able to house no less than six people. Half an hour after finding them at the casino, every member of the band was sound asleep, along with three of the guards who had been drinking with them. By morning the small amount of poison that they'd ingested would be out of their system. This left Toshiro, Clubs and Spades to handle the night watch- if they decided to enact such a policy. Come morning, the band members would be up and preparations for their 11 O'clock concert would be underway. The concert would be held in the main square and, thankfully for those hired to protect the band, there would be extra security there to deal with the crowds and groupies- though it was questionable how much use they would be against assassins if they weren't expecting them. |
