Emi was glad she made into Blue Pegasus. It seemed to have a way of doing things as her Order, The Sunspears. She felt at home here, and it was far better than wandering aimlessly thru the country anyway. Emi missed her home on Seven, her friends, her former team, her master and her love. But she had a mission, and she would honor that trust to the end. She though this while clenching her fist and looking to the sky as she walked around town, inevitably causing her to headbutt a street lamp. "ARGH!", she protested as she scratched her forehead, "Day dreaming again." People around her stopped when they heard the bang of the impact, but quickly resumed their way as they realized Emi was ok. Some amazed to see a girl with fox ear and tail, other where even giggling at the situation. Emi couldn't blame then, she was not exactly a human anyway, it was natural from some of them to find her strange, and she giggled to herself when she thought about the situation as well. Getting up on her feet, Emi made way to the market. It would be packed at this time of the day but she had yet to stock up on food ever since she got her on room. She couldn't keep going to restaurant and the like everyday, or she would run out of jewels soon enough. It was by far cheaper to buy food on the market and cook it herself. And besides, it was a bright sunny day, it would be a crime to stay at the guild doing nothing, while she waits to be officially allowed to take missions. "I wonder if there is good fresh fish left." |

"Amazing! So, this is Poinsettia, eeeh?~" Jaxus wiped his brow as he entered the city limits of Poinsettia, head tilted upwards as he looked to the wonderous architecture, complimented by trees at nearly every corner. For a farm-boy like Jaxus, this influence of nature was something he was capable of appreciating. He had been traveling for some time now since he left the academy, and every day he was seeing new sites and exploring new places. He had, in fact, grown highly fond of this nomadic lifestyle. However, the more he explored, the more he realized he found himself alone more often than not. That said, Jaxus had become more educated regarding guilds and their policies. In fact, one thing that Jaxus' found interesting was that guilds were given access to job requests, which allowed respective members to spend further time traveling. Getting paid to preform heroic deeds, explore new lands, and meet interesting people? The emerald eyed boy couldn't think of anything sounding even remotely better than that. Yet, he had a dire question to answer. Which one to join? His first stop, was Poinsettia to check out the Blue Pegasus Guild. After inquiring around in the last few weeks, Jaxus had learned that while previously holding somewhat of a joke of a reputation, Blue Pegasus had turned itself around and encouraged utilizing magic for the people. Of course, Jaxus' being the kind boy he was agreed with the sentiment, and intended to see what Blue Pegasus is all about. ...Grrrr... "Huh..." Jaxus' stopped in his tracks as an odd sound crossed his ears, forcing him to look around with curiosity. GRRROOWWWWWLL! "...Oh..." With a simple retort, Jaxus looked down to his stomach, an empty feeling easily felt in his gut. "Eheh...Right..." Jaxus' chuckled lightly with a light grin, nervously bringing his right arm to rub the back of his neck in embarrassment at the realization. After all, his last meal was nine hours ago when he left his camp. Luckily, as his steps continued, he found himself in what was apparently, Poinsettia's market district. "Lucky!~ Perfect timing!" Jaxus yelled, walking across the market stalls one by one with curious eyes. As someone who spent a majority of his time traveling, these markets were always goldmines for him. Where else could he find fresh jerky and other such items which last for his long trips? "H-Huh...?" While browsing across the market, Jaxus saw an interesting site. A girl with fox ears and a tail, to be exact. His expression was one of clueless curiosity, blinking afew times in disbelief. Though, with his curiosity peaked, it was difficult for Jaxus to ignore at this point and being the sociable person he was, he at least wanted to try and make conversation. "OOOOIIIII!" Yelling out and waving towards Emi's direction, Jaxus slowly approached with a friendly, somewhat childish grin as he attempted to get in an audible range. "Oi! Sorry to bother ya, but I just got to Poinsettia.~ Would you know if this market sells any jerky?" Perhaps an odd request, but with tattered shoes, worn clothing, and the heavy backpack the boy wore, it was probably obvious that he was a traveler. That said, it would make abit of sense if he had gotten lost among this grand city. |

Emi managed to get to the market without problems. Most people just ignored her and those who actually realized she was different didn't seem to bother with talking to her at all. Fortunately she was used to come to this market ever since she arrived at the city, and came here many times before even joining the Guild, so the merchants were already used to her unusual look, as well as many of the regulars that came to this very same market everyday. It's the advantage of being officially on a guild, even if you look different people know where your basic beliefs lie, and thus can accept you easier. Same thing was true on her home country, were even while her differences compared to a normal human were disconcerting for some, the fact that her order was know made it easier for her to be accepted. And if things became complicated she could always turn to her team. Emi was heading to the part of the market were all the perishables, like meat, fruit and fish are sold, when a man appeared before her asking where he could find jerky. "Jer-ky?", asked Emi, half surprised half startled. What tha hell was jerky anyway, could it be some food from this country? Emi never heard about it, "I-I'm not really sure. Is that some kind of meat? If so my guess would be the same area I'm going to, however I cannot be really sure on that matter, as I've never... bought it before." Emi looked better at the men before her. From the look on his clothing she would guess he had traveled quite a bit to get here, and was probably worn off. If that was the case no wonder he was looking to resupply on food. Since Emi had also traveled a lot to get from her Order's HQ on Seven to this city, she knew how hard it could be to get one's bearings on a new city. "I will help you find what you are looking for. I'm quite familiar with the market's lay out so I'm sure that if we ask some of the merchants they will be able to point use in the right direction.", said Emi with a smile on her face, "Oh, I'm Emilia by the way. Nice to meet you." |

Jaxus gave a small nod at Emi's inquiry upon jerky, with a light smile and perhaps, abit of a clueless expression about him as he listened. As Emilia briefly mentioned that she had previously eaten jerky before, Jaxus expression immediately became one of shock. "EEEHHH?!" As Emi mentioned her familiarity with the market, Jaxus gave a large, rather exuberant nod with a grin. "Oi.~ You gotta' try some jerky if we find some.~ It's amazing if you find it fresh.~" "O-Oh!" Just then, however, Jaxus had realized that he had completely forgotten to introduce himself in the midst of his ravenous hunger for protein. "Eheh.~ Nice to meet you too Emilia, I'm Jaxus.~ Thanks for the help by the way, I uh...kind of get lost alot. Eheh.~ Which way we headin' then?~" With a slight chuckle and a toothy grin, Jaxus closed his eyes and gently rubbed the back of his neck with his left arm as he made this admission, perhaps abit embarrassed by this fact. "Oh, cool scarf by the way.~" OOC

Emi was surprised at the man's reaction. Was jerky really that great? Maybe she should try it then. It would be nice to try something different once in a while too, as she didn't like to fall to hard into a routine. Meeting new people was also a good way to fall off the routine. He introduced himself as Jaxus... not really an regular name, but then again, Emi wasn't from this country so she couldn't know that for sure, not to mention that there was no proof that Jaxus was from this country either. "Oh, thanks!", answered Emi in surprise to Jaxus compliment, "It was a gift." Anyway, first thing's first, Emi needed to get to the meat and fish area of the market. Since Jaxus mentioned it was better if fresh, Emi assumed it was something on those lines. Either that or a fruit, which wouldn't be too far from that area either. The market was very crowded tho, even if they got there the chances of there still be some jerky left weren't that high if it is indeed something that good, not to mention that Emi didn't knew about it so the odds weren't looking too good. "Follow me! Let's see if we can get to the market area were we might find this jerky thing." Emi moved thru the crowd, assuming Jaxus was following, making her way to the food section. It wasn't that far from where they had met, but the crowd moved slowly. In there Emi went about her normal path, making sure to stop on the first shop for vegetables. "Hello dear.", said the old lady which owned the stall, "Come back to resupply on greenies?" "Hello, Ms. Lian. Yeah, I came here to get the usual." "Eheh. You arrived late as always. Good thing I'm aware of your tastes.", said the old lady with a smile, before grabbing a bag from under the stall, "Here you go. The usual." "Thank you very much, Ms Lian... Say, do you know where I can get jerky?" "My, my, my! Trying something different? That can be bad for your health if you don't eat it with moderation." "Ah, no sorry, it isn't for me.", she said before gesturing to Jaxus, "This man here asked me for help to find some. I don't even know what the stuff looks like." "Well then, in that case I advice you to try in the meat section. If there is some left, it will be there." "Thank you again, Ms Lian. See you again next week." With this Emi moved along, making her way to the meat section of the market. "With any luck there will still be some jerky for you to buy. The market is kinda hectic today." |

"Eheh, I see." Jaxus closed his eyes with a brief chuckle, nodding with a childish, friendly grin as Emilia explained the scarf as a gift. He knew the feeling, and without realizing it, he found himself reaching to the dogtag necklace hanging under around his neck. Momentarily lost in thought, he was woken out of daze as Emilia offered to show him the way through the market, and hopefully to some jerky. "Eheh.~ I appreciate it Emilia.~ Thanks.~" As Jaxus followed Emelia, he still couldn't believe his eyes. The architecture and raw growth of nature within Poinsettia was so uncommon in most settings, yet, it left Jaxus in awe as he strolled through the market place. //Oi, oi, this place is pretty cool...// Mentally musing to himself, Jaxus opened his mouth to speak, before a new voice seemed to intercept his own. "Hello dear." "E-Eh...?" Jaxus refocused his eyes in a confused manner, finding the source of the voice as an old woman who owned what seemed to be a vegetable stall. Jaxus, unwilling to be rude, did not interject or speak up as the two had their conversation, though, as Emelia pointed to him as the pursuer to unhealthy meat goods, his entire face flushed bright red as he brought his right arm to gently rub the back of his neck. "Eheh...Well...It ain't "toooo" unhealthy if ya' travel alot...~" Whether this was true or not, Jaxus did travel on foot a large majority of the time, burning enough calories and exercising enough to stay in shape. As they finally left the stand, however, Jaxus' mouth opened once more, asking the question he intended to ask before hand. "Oi, Emilia, mind if I had a question?" Jaxus tucked his hands into his pockets, looking into the sky for a moment, curious as to how he should ask the question. "Poinsettia, you've been here awhile, right...? What goes on round' here? I mean, what's it like here?" Of course, Jaxus knew this assumption may have been off, but from the banter between Emelia and the woman at the stall, they seemed to be more than abit familiar with each other. That said, Jaxus only assumed it was natural that Emelia had been in Poinsettia for some time. Perhaps an odd question, but the primary reason for his visit was to potentially apply to Blue Pegasus, the very guild his father had assisted in his youth. Naturally, Jaxus wanted to know what the town was like in terms of community and events. As a wanderer, he wanted the city he made his home in to be able to accommodate his curiosity and sense of adventure. So far, the natural growth of trees and brush in the city had put Blue Pegasus perhaps a peg above the other guilds. Of course, he would need to visit the other guild halls to fully decide, most likely. |

Emi's ears were turning themselves into different directions like crazy, as to try and follow noises around, it was a reflex that Emi could not control, but in a way it was one of the reasons she didn't like crowded places. Being in one was enough to make Emi tired. At this point, Jaxus tried to know if it was ok to ask something. Emi didn't mind so she nodded in response. It appeared he wanted to know about the city, as he guessed Emi was from around. "Your assumption would be correct.", Emi replied to the question, "I've indeed been around this parts for a while. But not as much as you would think. That lady knows me cause I'm a regular client of hers. I can tell you something for a fact. Living expenses here are no joke. I'm lucky the guild as accommodations for its members, otherwise I can assure you I would not be able to live here. Not to mention I would be out of the job too." Emi stopped abruptly as two children raced past her, then she continued. "This city has a lot of nobles so at times it can be annoying to stroll around the city with my appearance. Most don't mind me at all, but those who do can be annoying at times. Again, joining the guild reduced that problem too. Hence why I prefer to buy food on the market rather than eating at restaurants, less nobles here. As for the last question, living here is great, once you get past the initial problems it is a very friendly city and very beautiful too." They were arriving to the meat section at this point. It was as crowded as the rest of the market, so they needed to find what they wanted before it ran out, and Emi had no idea what it was that they were looking for so... "Stay sharp, you are the one that knows what jerky looks like, so you are the one that needs to find it." |

"Oreh?" An odd verbal expression of surprise left Jaxus' mouth as Emi mentioned her relation to a guild, though listening with eager intent. Perhaps too much so, and as Emi paused, the emerald eyed boy kept his head turned towards her, walking forward unheeded, missing the running kids in his sight completely. "W-Woah!" Taking a tep forward, Jaxus caught movement in the corner of his eyes, and in a brief moment, his eyes would shift from their deep emerald form, flickering alight with a pale yellow tone. In a surprisingly astute recovery, Jaxus lowered his left, grounding leg, bending slightly at the knee as he attempted to stop the forward momentum of his right leg. Leaning his torso backwards with the motion, he shifted his center of weight before kicking off with his left leg just afew inches, allowing him to just narrowly avoid colliding with the kids. "ACK!" This came at the cost of his own balance, however, causing him to fall flat on his back with an audible yelp. "Tssh! Ow ow, ow, ow...~" In an odd, somewhat whiny, perhaps childish tone, the boy sat upwards, crossing his legs as he rubbed the back of his head with his right hand, eyes closed a he attemped to nurse the wound he had just created. "Aie, I'm fine, I'm fine.~" Jaxus slowly brought himself to his feet, and despite falling, his sunny attitude seemed to be uneffected by the course of events, continuing to follow Emi as she continued to describe what it was like to live in the city. Hearing of the snooty nobles in the city, Jaxus' mouth shifted to the side, as if thinking deeply, only for the expression to fade and be replaced with a sincere cheery look as Emilia described that joining the Blue Pegasus resulted in less harrassment by the local nobles. "Aie, aie, gotcha.~" Nodding as Emi mentioned to be on the look out for Jerky, the boy's smile turned into a childish, wide playful grin. "You're part of Blue Pegasus, then, eh?~ That's really cool., ya know~ What's it like to be in a guild, anyway? Honestly, I was kinda thinkin' bout' tryna' join, my old man used to be a guild member after all. Eheh.~" Edited by SilverRush, Jan 5 2015, 11:04 PM.

Emi was looking around for something she had not seen before, hoping that would be the jerky thing Jaxus was looking for, when he asked about how it was to be in a guild, while at the same time posing the possibility of joining. Emi knew little of the man, but she knew everyone and anyone would be welcome in the guild provided they abide by the motto. Still, Emi had only been around the guild for a short time, so she wasn't the best person to ask about it. She did met Reggie on the guild, and they were good friends now, so in a way joining the guild was a good thing regardless. "Well, the time I spent in this guild isn't as long as I would want, but I can tell you one thing.", Emi said before stopping and turning around to face Jaxus with a smile, "I wouldn't have traded becoming a member of this guild for anything in the world. Even if there are other guilds similar to this one, Blue Pegasus will forever more be my guild.", Emi then returned to walk around the market in search for jerky, "However, I realize guilds represent their views thru their members, and not every person can fit on one guild in particular. You should join Blue Pegasus if that is what YOU want, regardless of who is or was in it." Emi was a little proud of herself, for the possibility of helping someone pick a guild. It seems the instructor inside of her was still alive and kicking even if she was one for only a year. Emi stopped as she heard something strange, her ears moving independently in search for the source, but they could not pin point it as noise was something the market had in spades. She decided to ignore it for now, and continued forwards. "Have you seen anything that looks like jerky?" |

As Emi smiled as Jaxus, a gentle breeze blew across the forested, nature air as she stated that she wouldn't have trader the guild for any other. It seemed...sincere. As she mentioned how guilds represent their views through members, an odd, yet comforting sensation swept over his body as she said he should join what he wanted, rather than what was expected of him. He didn't know why, but the thought just seemed...right. "Eheh.~" A wide, cheeky grin spread across his face in response, genuine in expression. "That actually sounds like...well...great advice.~ Thanks Emi.~" Jaxus offered a gentle nod and a peace sign to Emi, and by now, it was probably easy to realize he used body language often. Chuckling ever so softly at his new realization, due to Emi's influence, Jaxus peeked upwards as Emi mentioned jerky. "E-Eh...? Nothin' yet..." Jaxus looked left to right, sighing slightly as his eyes failed to pick anything up. "Well, nother' question I had is..well..." Jaxus remained vigilant, but as Emi seemed to have a good deal of wisdom, he felt compelled to ask. "Blue Pegasus ideals are about building a better world, kinda, right? Utopia or somethin...?" Jaxus couldn't help but smile at the idea, in his short travels, he had seen the misfortune of afew, and he had a gut feeling that the more he traveled, the more of it he would see. "Well, I mean, I really like the idea, but...uh..." Jaxus' actually laughed mid sentence, being reminded of his days in academics before he was booted from the academy. "Well, I kinda' have a short fuse for bullies, ya' know?~" Jaxus replied with an innocent, childish tone, chuckling at the comment, he couldn't lie, he found himself more often in the middle of a fight than avoiding one. Heck, to a certain extent, he enjoyed a friendly brawl. A complete anti-thesis to their paccifistic reputation. "But...I really do want to try workin' for a better world...Any advice?" Jaxus asked in a sincere tone, looking to Emi as he hoped for afew more words of wisdom. By now, Jaxus embarked on at least three adventures hunting out entities which used their power on the innocent. At the end of the day, even if he didn't realize it, he was sincerely trying to do good in the world, in his own way. Edited by SilverRush, Jan 6 2015, 04:49 AM.
