Embodiment of Pandemonium/Aspect of Sacrifice
|
Trillium was a shining metropolis from an outside view. On the inside, however, it was nothing more than a cesspool of crime and degradation, a very beacon of the lows that come with humanity. Despite this very obvious fact, Zeph found himself returning to the city over and over again. He was drawn here ever since his run in with the man simply known as Monkey, and his one-sided battle with the bartender called Condor, as a test of his worthiness to join the guild of Raven Tail. Ever since that day, the day that being a hit-man and been instilled with him, he had returned, slowly honing his skills for the day he would draw his sword against Condor and take his place. Today, Zeph decided to turn away from his skills for battle, and work up the skills necessary to be an effective hit-man. Scouting out the target, gathering intelligence, and then executing the strike. This was a whole different ballpark from the usual fight with murderous intent. Patience was a hundred percent necessary, and he was learning quickly. Today, he was practicing his less step, executing the strike. His target had come to him when a request had been leaked to him to have a certain individual taken care of, either scared into submission or killed if necessary. The request was low grade, and since he wasn't part of the guild, or officially accepted the request, there was nothing in doing it other than the practice for his future profession. The man's name was Geeno Tem, owned a few pawn shops throughout the city and worked a small time smuggling operations for varies unmentionables. Mr. Tem did follow a routine on the average day. He would check his shops to pick up the money for the past week, and then from there deposit it into a safe at a separate location before returning home. Zeph had come to the conclusion that the best time to strike is while he was transition from the last pawn shop, to the location for the safe. This way, if he had to be killed, it would look as though it was a mugging gone wrong. Standing in the doorway of one of many bars, Zeph watched as Mr. Tem left the last shop and began to make his way down the street. Popping his parasol open and bringing it over head, he began to follow, about ten feet back and off to one side. It would not be long before he would turn into an alley to cut across a few streets, and it was there he would strike. Of course, from an outside point of view, it might not be too hard from some one to see that this older gentleman with the pack was being followed by a red-head with a parasol out during clear skies when the sun is setting. |

"So, this is Trillium, ehhh?~" Jaxus let out an impressed breath as he curiously viewed the high rise structures far above his head, mouth slightly open, equal parts in awe and shock. "These buildings are huuuge!" Looking to the tallest rooftops, Jaxus was suddenly filled with an rush of nausea, causing him to step back afew feet and lurch over forward, hands over his mouth. "..." A moment would pass before Jaxus stood straight, uncovering his mouth and looking slightly ill. This was for good reason as well, considering the poor boy just narrowly avoided blowing chunks over the ground. "...Moving on, next..." Jaxus moved further into the city, his eyes curiously shifting left to right as he attempted to pick up as much information as he could. In fact, he had heard about many curious rumors of Trillium. The first, wasn't so much as a rumor but a wide spread, public acknowledgement. Trillium was filled with shady dealings, and criminals of all sorts. Though, it wasn't all too surprising, considering a dark guild made it's home within this city. Raven Tail, as it was apparently called. Surprisingly, however, this was not the main reason Jaxus was here. The second reason, was the rumors of what Trillium previously was. A pristine metropolis, powered by shining metal windmills. From what Jaxus had heard, the city had been thrashed at one point by a Dragon of all things! And at this point, Jaxus was learning it wasn't a rumor at all. With Jaxus' natural curiosity, it was only inevitable he would find himself here eventually. "E-Ehh...?" As Jaxus walked through the streets, his eyes picked up on figure which rather stood out from the rest. A rather tall man, donning a short, black cape and high collar coat. Perhaps what stood out the most, however, was that the red-headed man was using a parasol in daylight. Though, at this distance, Jaxus was unable to make out much of their facial features. "Huh..?" Catching something in his peripherals, Jaxus tilted his head, finding an older gentleman in possession of a rather, good sized package. "Oi...I think I catch your game now..." Jaxus whispered to himself, with a light frown on his face. With the sun continuing to set, Jaxus had come to the conclusion that the cloaked man intended to mug the older man when the sun set. In that moment of realization, he saw the orange-eyed man change his course into an alley way. "If he keeps heading that direction..." Things matched up in his head almost immediately, and with that, Jaxus realized he needed to intercept him, fast! "Nikkougan!" With a whisper under his breath, Jaxus' eyes blinked simply once to reveal an, eerie, moonlight yellow like color had replaced his emerald eyes. Using the increased clarity of his eyes, Jaxus' movements became more efficient as be began to sprint forward into the alleyway, unfortunately bumping into afew people along the way in his rush. "Oi! You!" Surging into the alleyway as fast as he could, Jaxus called out in an attempt to momentarily shock the man and cause him to halt. If the man had, indeed stopped, Jaxus would slow his momentum and attempt to stop himself roughly fifteen feet away from the parasol bearing figure, allowing his knees to bend ever so slightly as he took a position. "You seem awfully curious about that package, ya know?~" Jaxus' tone was strangely playful but a certain, serious tone entered his voice as his spoke once more, his eyebrows tucking down lightly as his eyes took on an intense, light yellow stare. "...How bout' I ask why...?" Jaxus' arms were down, but with his knees bent at a solid angle, it was clear he was preparing to fight the red haired man, if necessary. Of course, at an intimidating height of five feet, five inches, it may have been hard to take him seriously. Juuust maybe.~ |

So far the plan and been proceeding something, as Zeph thought it would. Mr. Tem turned into the usual alleyway and continued to travel, unaware that he was being pursued. Making a sharp turn after him, he suddenly picked up his pace, getting ready to pounce on the guy and take him down with precision when something shattered the whole thing. A single voice rang out behind him, "Oi! You!" Which resulted in two things; First being, that Mr. Tem turned on the spot, seeing the red-headed man looming behind him. He shouted out and run like his life depending on it. The second thing was that it cause Zeph to pause, which in turn, allowed his target to easily escape and disappear into the foot-traffic at the other end of the alley. Coming to a complete stop, he simply stood there for a moment while the idiot behind him continued to gab on about Zeph's intentions in relation to the package that the man had been carrying. Slowly, he turned, burning orange eyes falling onto the young man that had just ruined his entire operation. He was younger than Zeph's physical from by only a few years, with long-ish, off black, hair. His eyes were an unnatural color leading him to believe that either the idiot was not entirely human, or was a mage of some kind. On top of everything, he was a good half a foot shorter, hardly an intimidating individual. The boy did not look overly powerful, and to be honest, he didn't really care, this person had stepped on the wrong toes. "Meddling in the affairs of others, what a nosy child you are," He stated in response, with the usual monotone. Reaching up with his left hand, Zeph closed his parasol, before flipping it around in his right hand and bring it back down to his side. "I had no interest in the package, I was simply after the man. Whom, you allowed to escape with your interruption. I cannot ignore this rudeness," Even with his neutral tone and expression, it was not hard to tell that he was livid. The only real outward action that one would be able to pick this up with was the one involving him reaching across his body to place his hand on the handle of the sword the hide within the pole of the parasol. With a quick twist, and a sharp click, the blade unlocked, allowing Zeph to slowly pull the split blade from it's disguised sheath. "From what I understand, humans punish children that are too nosy." |

//C-child?!?!// A large, pulsing vain appeared upon Jaxus' forehead at the comment, merely waiting and listening as the man tucked his parasol to his side. With his increased insight, he in fact, was able to tell the man was rather irked with his intrusion but by this point, Jaxus was rather ticked himself. "Click..." As Zeph drew his blade, Jaxus' pupils grew for just a moment in surprise. In response, however, his left hand began to reach behind his waist, keeping his attention firmly on the man with a determined stare. "You wanna' punish me then, huh...?" In an unexpected notion, Jaxus' serious tone took on the slightest tone of playfulness, as an odd, yet confident smile spread across his face. "Eheh! Let's see it then!" In certain circumstances, Jaxus' didn't enjoy violence but after such an insult, his view of the fight had changed completely. He was rather looking forward to this now. Whether the man had begun to approach yet or not, Jaxus' left hand would fluidly slide from his back pocket and around his waist, two bright, silver throwing stars tightly clenched between his fingers. In just a moment, they would be released through the air towards the cloaked orange-eyed man with a duel purpose. Directly aimed for his center line, Jaxus hoped, of course, to injure the man. This secondly, however, provided a distraction which would allow Jaxus to backpeddle two steps, lifting his arms upwards in a relaxed posture, elbows down in order to prepare to guard his chest and head area. With any luck, the shurikens would have given Jaxus enough time to prepare for the cloaked man's most likely, oncoming attack. Edited by SilverRush, Nov 10 2014, 01:25 AM.

Embodiment of Pandemonium/Aspect of Sacrifice
|
Zeph had taken a single step forward before Jaxus started to act. The two throwing stars sliced through the air, aimed for him the moment they had left the boy's hands. Thankfully, some of his training was about to pay of. Hopping onto his right foot, he suddenly pushed off at an angle, shooting to the left, letting him dodge one star, but putting him directly into the path of the second. Without missing a beat, as his left foot struck the ground, his split blade rushed upwards, knocking the throwing star out of the air, before he pushed off again. Dashing back and forth, he quickly gained ground on Jaxus, even with the extra two feet he had given himself. The boy was fast, but Zeph was faster. Now within striking range, he took into account where his opponent's arms were. Instead of striking center mass, the red-headed man thrusted his parasol forward, aiming for the boy's unprotected gut. Landing a strike on such a soft section of the body would cause a good deal of pain without causing fatal damage. Regardless of whether his parasol hit its mark, Zeph followed-up. Bringing his left arm in an upward swing, he aimed to slash the young man up the front. With his arms in the way, this would make a good gash, more or less, possibly making the arm unusable for the rest of the fight if it took the full force. Blood pumping, mind racing with so many possible variables, muscles moving in time like a finely tuned machine; with all of this, he didn't even notice the massive grin that had plastered itself on his face. It wouldn't be surprising that he would find the violence enjoyable. After all, he was a demon. |

Jaxus watched carefully as the red-headed man dodged his shuriken, taking note of the man's speed and dexterity as he effortlessly batted the second away. Taking a deep breath, Jaxus attempted to relax his muscles as the man quickly dashed forward. At this moment, however, the strain in his eyes had reached it's peak at the worst possible time. Jaxus' eerie, yellow eyes seemed to fade, revealing a more human, but still odd emerald color in appearance. In that sudden moment, within the perception of his own eyes, Zeph went from fast to even faster! Faster than him! As the cloaked man thrust his parasol forward, his calculated strike proved more than accurate as it came crashing into the boy's gut. "Ugh!" Jaxus had attempted to step back with the force of the blow, but Zeph's speed and precision proved to be superior, the damage hardly minimized, forcing the small boy to lurch over ever so slightly. //E-eh?!// Opening his eyes from the impact, Jaxus was greeted by a fast incoming blade at an upwards angle. In a frantic motion, Jaxus leaned his head and spine backwards, attempting to pull his torso away from the fast incoming blade. As the blade graced across Jaxus' chest, a light crimson streak appeared over his white shirt, before cutting straight through his leather belt tied across his shoulder. The shallow, seven inch cut across his chest was not the last would Jaxus would receive either. The man's calculated strike had worked brilliantly, and while Jaxus avoided most damage to his mid-section, his arms were extended and more vulnerable than his chest. In that single stroke, the blade spilled blood into the air as it tore through Jaxus' left, upper arm, creating a gash and tearing into a muscle as a result. "ARGH!" In a yell of pain, it was obvious the blade had done damage. Yet, as Jaxus' adrenals began to kick in, he began to realize just how dangerous his opponent truly was, and if he hesitated, he knew he would die. Jaxus' left leg would take a brief backstep, allowing his body to flow with the strike of the blade. In a surprising motion, however, Jaxus didn't retreat but advanced upon his incoming foe. Stepping forward with his left leg, Jaxus crouched with his right to lower his body below the man, and in the opposing direction of the blade. If Jaxus was to survive, he needed to gain distance in order to restrategize. To do that, he would gamble everything in the next move. The moment before his left leg touched the ground, to support his right leg, golden, yellow spheres suddenly ignited from his left foot and right hand, gently floating upwards through the air. Stepping forward with his left foot, the explosion of light ignited, creating a bright flash throughout the alleyway, golden white in color. The was intended to hopefully disorientate and confuse Zeph, using the moment of the the flash to lower his body weight and drop below the man. "KOONOO YAROUU!" Clenching his right fist tightly, the spheres floating around his fist would suddenly begin to glow brighter as he rushed forward with a wild uppercut. Of course, with Jaxus' height, this was aimed more at the chest area than the head. However, if the attack connected with Zeph, it would potentially risk throwing him a full meter into the air due to the upwards trajectory of the strike. Combined with the close quarters environment, Jaxus hoped to use their surroundings to further damage the man, and perhaps even disarm him of his sword if he got lucky. Embodiment of Pandemonium/Aspect of Sacrifice
|
It seemed that Zeph, despite the change from a demonic body to a human one, still had some of his combat skill after all. His thrust with the parasol and slash with the split blade had both worked perfectly. The boy had taken both blows well, even managing to keep the blade from cutting all that deep into his chest, but his left arm was going to be nothing, but dead weight now. He felt the blade bite into the Jaxus's arm, tearing through muscle as it went. Zeph could see on his face, that he now knew that he had made a tactical error, however, that fact did not stop him from continuing forward. Blade now in the air, Zeph was about to bring it swinging down, ready to end the fight and put the boy out of his misery, but he was then taken by surprise. Before he could strike a third time, the boy dropped his body and the next thing he knew there was a brilliant flash of light directly in front of him. His eyes reacted instinctively, clenching shut as he turned his head away. Zeph had been foolish and had been the same mistake, as he had with Condor. Rushing in with no thought to his opponent's abilities. If he had kept a cooler head, this surprise could have been avoided. Now blinded, he knew only one thing: He had to get away from Jaxus before he struck. The Iridescent Ring the hung on a cord around his neck activated to his will, causing his feet to be pulled from the ground as he fly up and back at an angle. The timing was almost perfect, as he felt his enemies fist come in contact with his chest. The power of flight allowed Zeph to lessen the blow, but he still felt it. Shooting back, he deactivated the ring so that his over all movement would appear that the strike and thrown him back, instead of him being move by the ring. Landing on one knee, almost exactly where he had been standing fifteen feet back, he rubbed his eyes, blinking them until he was able to partially see again. "Light Manipulation Magic," He said as he pulled himself to his feet, ignoring the pain in his chest. There was going to be a nasty bruise there later, but he would deal with it then. "Quite the trick, very effective strategy for a guerrilla styled attacks. An ocular flare inhibits an individual from making rational decisions, as well as temporarily blinding them, giving you an opening to strike." All his talk was nothing more than to stall for time. He needed his vision to return to normal, and despite his calm exterior, his mind was buzzing mad. Few knew it, but Zeph suffered from heliophobia, the fear of the sun/sunlight. Even with his fear being limited to sunlight, the intense flash of light that Jaxus had created, had still rattled him to his core. The boy was brave, if it had not been for his disorder, Zeph would have swung his blade even after the flash. No, not brave. The boy was stupid, he had had no guarantee that the flash would have disoriented him enough to keep him from acting, even then, there was no guarantee that he wouldn't have just started wildly lashing out while blinded. Regardless, he had to be careful of any other tricks Jaxus might try to pull. |

Jaxus felt his hand connect, yet, he felt slightly less resistance than he expected as the second flash had come and gone upon impact, leaving him to watch as Zeph had appeared to been thrown a rather impressive distance. As the man stabilized himself upon his knee and spoke, Jaxus reached for the leather strap that the red-haired man had cut so cleanly through earlier, giving the man a brief, cocky, yet somewhat friendly smile. "Eheh...Your pretty good yourself, ya know.~ Didn't take ya' long to find my posture's weakest point...but ya know..." As the man spoke, taking time to re-orientate himself, Jaxus too, took advantage of the time as he brought the belt from one shoulder to the other, pulling it tightly around his right arm in a rough tie. Using his teeth to hold on end of the belt, Jaxus gave the belt a quick jerk, tying the belt around his bleeding arm, a bright crimson slowly leaked from his arm, drop by drop, staining the ground below. "Some children will act out when their punished.~ Eheh!~" With a slight chuckle and a toothy grin, Jaxus provided a show of bravado in an attempt to hide just how worried, and afraid he actually was. His actions only prolonged the inevitable, and he knew this. Jaxus had afew options, neither of them appealing. Run, and turn his back to the faster opponent, or fight, until he fell. The man had called him a child, after all, so the latter was the natural choice for him. Jaxus' knees bent slightly once more, left arm hanging loosely from his side as he took one step forward with his right leg, placing his right arm ever so slightly outwards in a position similar to before. With the back of his palm towards Zeph, fingers fully outstretched, his toothy smile just as cheeky as before. "How bout' we try this again?" As if tempting fate, and his opponent, Jaxus took a similar pose as before, without the assistance of his left arm. While perhaps a mistaken error against such a tactically skilled foe, Jaxus intended to tempt fate and gamble once more, waiting for his opponent to strike. |

Embodiment of Pandemonium/Aspect of Sacrifice

"The world I am from, war is all that there is. Tactics and strategy is necessary for survival. Unlike yourself, I was bred for battle," As he spoke, his eyes narrowed slightly as his vision fully returned, observing his opponent, "I have centuries of experience, exploiting such an obvious flaw in your stance was nothing." Awhile back, Zeph had made the decision to refrain from trying to explain and convince people that he was from a different plain. It was just easier for him to not bother with it, either they would understand and accepted what he was, or wasn't, or they could ignore it and write it off that he was simply crazy. Either way mattered little to him. He watched, calmly, as Jaxus moved into the same stance as before, slightly modified as to not incorporate his damage arm. It would seem that the boy was fixated on dying at this point. Even with this thought, Zeph thought twice about rushing him again, like he had before. It was apparent that he was superior in speed, but the boy's magic was slightly more refined than his own. There was the other matter about fighting a wounded child. Zeph had the upper-hand, there was no doubt about it: He had skill, and experience, even if his own body couldn't keep up. Even though, he was hesitant about striking down Jaxus in cold blood. Sure, he had stuck his nose where it had not belonged, but that didn't mean he had to die. With this thought, Zeph slashed his blade, flicking the blood the still glistened on it, from it's surface. Spinning his parasol around, he sheathed the split-blade, locking it into place, before turning the parasol back around. "I will not kill you child, but a lesson must be learned here regardless," With that said, he pointed the parasol at Jaxus, holding it like he would a sword, "You are injured, and at a tactical disadvantage! In the face of an enemy whom holds more power, what is your move?" Let the lesson begin. Zeph pushed off, a full burst bee-line for Jaxus, his parasol aimed to strike him in another thrust, but this time, the target was his left shoulder. Striking the abdomen again was too obvious. His left shoulder would, currently, be his weakest point as any jolts there would increase the sensation of pain where he had injured him before. However, the boy would be ready this time, or he should be. At the last possible second, Zeph's movements suddenly changed as he dodged to his right, parasol in his left hand. Stepping almost in line with where Jaxus currently was, he swung his parasol hard towards his left, aimed to strike the boy in the head. |

//Oi, oi, what did I get myself into...// Jaxus mentally sighed, listening to the man as he explained what life was like in his world, yet, as the man's deep orange eyes narrowed upon him, a chilling sensation shot down his spine. Something seemed to tell him that this man wasn't lying. However, as the man sheathed his blade, Jaxus' expression shifted slightly to one of surprise, without compromising his posture. Before he could make even a quip back, however, the man set upon him in a bee-line. "Here we go..." In a split moment, Jaxus would close his eyes in a blinking fashion. In Zeph had paid close attention, in fact, Jaxus' eye color would shift from a bright emerald to the same, eerie light yellow color once more in that single blink. //I see it!// Jaxus' perception immediately shifted to one of slowed time, where the man's motion and momentum could be more clearly analyzed and predicted as he thrust his parasol at his left shoulder, a well-made move considering it was his weakest point, and currently risked bleeding out if the battle became too prolonged. In a surprising motion, Jaxus refused to move and simply held position. As the strike came, Jaxus shifted his weight to his right leg, crouching down ever so slightly as he took a further, curved backstep with his left foot, turning his waist and torso with a counter clockwise motion, toward his left side. If the thrust had continued, it would have perhaps flew past his body but instead the man had followed with a secondary strike. From the new position he was in, Jaxus was now facing the parasol strike face first. Immediately turning on his right heel and stabilizing his center of gravity, Jaxus used his extended, right arm for it's purpose. With the enhanced capability of his eyes, combined with his ducking, rotation posture, Jaxus had tucked under the umbrella before extending his arm just abit upwards. "Then my move is to..." At this point, Jaxus would attempt to place his right wrist upon the wrist of the primary, swinging arm in mid strike. In a single motion, Jaxus would duck his knees lower and use his shoulder, torso, waist, and arms in a single, downwards stroke with the right wrist. "Borrow power!" This would, in actuality, cause zero damage, but Jaxus intended to use the man's own momentum from his swing to toss his arm, and perhaps his weapon to the side. Wasting no time in following up, Jaxus would take a heavy left step forward, retracting his arm and bringing in across his chest, fist closed. In a single, rushing lunge, Jaxus would attempt to use the opportunity to elbow the man in his right side, rotating his waist and springing his legs with the strike to obtain the most power possible. This was only complimented by using the rotational power to kick off with his right foot, and if his opponent had not found a way to stop him, Jaxus would attempt to quickly spin around to the man's side before leaping backwards, bending his knees and raising his arm to guard once more, dropping his elbow closer to waist level in preparing for the possibility of a follow up strike. |
