Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Titus wasn't shocked that the young mage was capable of teleporting, but thought it was nice to know what that card she picked up in the yard was really for. She was either trying to show off her magic or was lazy for such a tiny person, but that was none of his concern. He appreciated the fact that she was trying to help, but he still knew nothing about her and there was still cause for caution. After all, he wasn't here to socialize, he was here to complete the assignment and find these missing children. If the mage knew that this miniature giant was actually a giant teddy bear for kids, she would probably understand his reason for concern and why he wasn't very lax.

As he went to open up the door, he heard a light rustling sound as the cat spoke to its master. He looked over his shoulder and found that vines were beginning to move, initially launching out towards the girl, "Watch out!" The cat had been able to catch her attention quick enough and she ran over to where Titus was, avoiding the vines that reached out for her. However, Titus wasn't having any of that, flipping like some fairy. If he jumped in this forsaken house, he'd probably crash through the floor and destroy the structure of this part of the house. He pulled Daemon from his hilt and cut the vines that had sequentially tried to grab him once the mage was out of the way, which made them shrivel up and land on the floor.

"Watch yourself and stay close; if you have some sort of weapon or magic, by all means, use it." He returned to the door that he was about to open and turned the handle, though it wouldn't budge. He kicked the door down, expecting some more vines to pop out at him. Rather, there was nothing unusual about this room, but it certainly didn't fit in with the state of the house, "A... playroom?" The room was kept tidy and didn't have nearly a spec of dust or vines visible, but there was bunkbeds and toys and playsets amongst the floor. This didn't make a bit of sense, yet there had to be some sort of connection, "Is this some sort of room to lock them in so they feel at home?" He thought about the lack of information he had on the job - he didn't know if the missing children were orphans or not. "Perhaps... they were living here?"

Syeena avoided the vines and saw as they continued to come to life. Hex was quick to jump away from the moving tendrils. It was time like this when the witch envied the cat's grace and agility. Syeena saw the vines turn and come at her once more, trying to grab her. Quickly, she requipped her set of metal cards into her hands. Ready but delicately she held them, not wanting to cut herself as well.

With a flick of her wrist and arm, she threw the cards at the incoming vines. Though not best quality, the cards slashed into the vines with a significant force, and cut into the tendrils. While they were subdued Syeena looked around to see more vines were coming to life. It probably wouldn't be smart to stay there.

Jumping into the room where Titus and Hex were, she saw the small playroom. "This place hasn't been used in years. The children missing are from other homes." She added, but was soon interrupted as more vines came to life in the room around them. "We can't stay here. Let's find some cover!" she shouted.

Getting out of the room again, she saw another hall on the far side of the grand hall. However, the space was over the threshold of the second floor. They would have to go around the room first. Seeing the exit, Hex was quick to act. The little cat soon jumped onto Syeena's shoulder, then kicked off for the air. She arched in the air, but then with a small glow-- black wings appeared from Hex's back. The little black cat took flight and proceed to make her way across the gap.

"Better hurry before your flower chow," she teased as she soon reached the end of the room.

The girl seemed convinced otherwise that this room was of no particular importance, claiming that this was neither used in years nor was this housing for the children, which she failed to mention before. He wasn't quite sure if she was full of it, acting as if she knew what had really happened here, or if she was just picking up on the information that Titus was providing and trying to piece together the story. Regardless, Titus knew there had to be something more to this room, but they wouldn't have much time to investigate. Within a few moments of entering, the vines would follow suit and attempt to strike them down again, "Yeah, we better figure out a plan here soon."

He chased after the girl, thinking about how to avoid this overgrown mess. This stuff was going to keep following them at this rate and it wasn't like it was something they could lock out of the room, it was almost all over the house - inside and out. He thought about the way it attacked, lunging out towards them with solely the end. He thought about the way it reacted when he cut the vine, shriveling up and falling to the floor lifelessly. That was it, perhaps there was a way to get to the root of this problem, "Hey, if we cut the root of the vines, then the whole thing should die right?" He knew about vines on the farm and such, but they didn't follow the same logic as these magical ones, "We just have to find it first."

Up ahead of them was a large hole in the floor, one big enough that any of the three couldn't jump over without some miracle shoes. However, that wasn't the only means of transportation for two of them at least, which meant Titus would have to take the long way around. The black cat used some sort of magic to create wings and fly across, leaving its master behind. It wouldn't be for long though, considering she could easily use that teleportation card from earlier. He ran around, hacking at some of the vines that reached him as he rushed forwards, until he would be able to join up with the others, "Where do you think we should go? Down?" It might be in that pit, but it was highly unlikely.

Syeena just rolled her eyes at Titus' reasoning to find another way across. At that time with a flick of her wrist, she exquipt again one of her cards, calling on the power of the Magician! The card was of an etherial image of a shadow of a man, surrounded by infinity and magical energy. It was one of her most reliable and using cards. "I make my own bridges, thank you," she said sarcastically as she soon threw the card across the expanse of the room.

She lodged the card into the side of the doorway leading out of the room-- and just as Titus was not in sight range of Syeena, she appeared on the other side of the room. She was now grabbing the card free from the wall, as if she just put it there herself from the other side. She smirked to Titus, hoping she confused him as to "how the hell did she get from beside him to over there"

"Do try to keep up, Cheshire," she teased, blowing a kiss his way with her card and followed Hex down the corridor.

As she got to the hallway, she saw Hex clawing at a door. "Syeena. Look in here!" she said, calling out to her.

"H-Help! Someone please!" a voice sobbed from behind the door. One of the missing kids!

Rushing up to the door, Syeena gestured Hex out of the way. Using her card, she slipped it in between the lock and tugged. The door came free and she opened it to see inside. Near her feet as the door opened, a little girl was huddled on the floor next to her, sobbing scared. She was dirty with dirt and her dress cut up. Syeena's heart melted just a bit as she saw the helpless child. "It's okay little one, " she said calmly as she took the child into her arms. "I'm going to get you out of here."

The child slowly stopped sobbing as she looked up to see Syeena. She was confused but there was little time to explain. With the child in hand, she proceeded to take her back to the grand hall. Remerging from the corridor, they could see Titus still there. "I'll take the child back into the outer garden. You get over here and keep looking for more children!" Syeena said as she saw another stairwell nearby. She took the chlld with Hex and proceeded to guide them down it carefully.

Before he could even answer, the darn cat was clawing at the door, calling for its master. A soft voice could be heard on the other side, even from where Titus was standing. He rushed forwards, ready to break down the door with a solid kick, but the girl was closer and was able to pick it with ease. It worked, but in a household like this and under such circumstances, a teensy bit of property damage was perfectly justifiable. On the other side was a girl, curled up in a ball, filthy as could be, "Urghh..." Titus mumbled under his breath, pretty pissed off that some damned sicko was capable of doing such a thing, "Take her, but leave the cat to watch over her. We don't know what's causing this or if they'll go for the girl again." The duo ran out with the kid as planned, leaving Titus on his own to find the next one.

There were still five children to find and Titus was hoping that this was the worst of it, but he felt in his gut that the remaining children would be in just as bad (if not worse) situation than she was. He rushed through the house, cutting down any of the vines that struck out at him, but ended up circling back around to the room with the big hole in the floor. With a little curse to himself, he jumped down and landed with a crash below. This room was huge and he wasn't sure if this was the first level or the basement, but he wouldn't have much time to get a sense of his surroundings. He heard a faint shriek to his left and was lucky to find another child, though this one had merely been frightened by the giant's loud and sudden entrance. He walked over, lifting his finger to his lips, "Be quiet, little one. It's alright, you're safe now." He knelt down just in front of the kid, "What happened here? Are you okay?"

The kid was silent, far too silent, and it was beginning to make Titus feel on edge. The kid lifted his hand, then raised a finger as if he was pointing at... behind the man of steel. Titus turned around and saw a large, monstrous flower with teeth across the room, "Hide behind that desk, kiddo, and don't come out until I come back." He stood up and faced the monster, lifting his Bolter Pistol from his side and firing at the oversized plant. It lifted its petals to defend itself, but the bullets went right through the greenery. In retaliation, the plant launched a swarm of vines at Titus and he wasn't able to get out of the way quick enough before both of his legs were tangled up in the mess. It yanked hard, knocking him to the ground, but Titus kept firing bullets at the bud that looked like a face. Hopefully that girlie would be back quick enough to get the other kid out while Titus distracted this... thing, or at least until he figured out what the weakness for it was.

Titus' instructions were obvious to SYeena, as that was exactly what she had intended to do from the start. She wasn't so stupid that she would leave children on their own in a strange and dangerous place. Taking the little girl by the hand, she led her out of the dangerous mansion and through the garden. She didn't stop till they reached the gate, the little child panting as they went.

Finally coming to a stop, Hex hopped off Syeena's shoulder before the little girl. She was still crying a little but not as bad. "Okay, little one, I need to go back to rescue the other children. I want you to stay right here with my friend Hex," Syeena said. She then picked up Hex who looked mildly surprise as she held her before the little girl. "She is a good kitty. She will keep you safe, won't you Hex?"

Hex however looked up at Syeena with a crossed look. "You're leaving me here to babysit? I take offense to that!" she argued.

With a sigh and squishing Hex's hat over her eyes in reply to her back-talking, she put Hex down near the little girl. The girl's cries had stopped as she looked at Hex, apparently liking the cute cat. "Will you stay here, till I find your other friends?" she asked. The girl nodded softly. "Good."

Syeena then stood up and winked at her and Hex. SHe then quickly sprinted back inside as she soon heard a fight breaking out. She crossed the garden alot faster, and soon scaled up the remaining staircase of the mansion in record time-- to see the plant monster in the next room. Titus was holding it off, but also protecting a small child as well. "Starting the party without me? Then again, no point in making a good entrance if you are the first one there."

Raising open her hands, she arched them through the air. A magic aura danced from her hands as she brushed them through the air and the aura trailed in the air taking shape. Instead of requip, Syeena's magic molded together and created cards of her own! They shined with lights inside of them as they glowed with a mysterious aura. Cards conjured from her own magic-- Fate Magic! Grasping them out of the air, she then threw three of them out in perfect succession! The B class cards sliced through the air, and struck the target-- the green plant creature that was fighting Titus. If struck right, the cards could possibly sever the stem of the plant.

He emptied out his loaded clip into the beast, but it didn't have much more of an effect than the monster cringing and holes in the leaves with light shining through. Obviously a pretty standard pistol wasn't going to do much damage and he'd just have to fight more up close than what he'd consider smart in this situation, but he luckily had brought his sword with him. He pulled it from his belt and slammed it into the vines that had grabbed his legs causing it to sever, then quickly withdraw the remaining length of the vines. He got back up and started hacking at the vines that kept reaching for him, but he wasn't able to get to close. The plant was easily able to control the vines and, as such, didn't always attack with basic directional strikes.

By the time Titus was getting warmed up to the idea of just rushing in and trying to cut it at the stem, it seemed the girlie had arrived and thought the same thing. Fortunately, she had the benefit of slicing at a distance, whereas Titus had to get a few feet from the beast to do so. He hadn't noticed her enter, but he did notice the three cards that went zooming by towards the stem, which went clean through and caused the vines attacking him to go still, then shrivel up. He put his sword back and looked at the mage as he went towards the kid, "Thanks for that, interesting to know there's a source from where these vines are coming from now." Granted, this wasn't the only place that the vines were, but most of the ones in this room in particular were beginning to shrivel up. That meant there were more of these here... were the kids with them?

He knelt down and held out his hands to pick up the kid, "Come on, we'll get you out of here." The child jumped up, though he certainly was a bit shaken from everything that had just gone on. He lifted him up on his shoulders, which turned out to be a pretty decent seat for the child, but made sure the kid had a grip before he let go, "I'll take him up, be careful." He made back outside the house, being very wary not to hit his or the kid's head on anything. At least he had confirmation now that the girlie had absolutely nothing to do with what happened to the kids, considering that she was really pulling her weight (even though it was probably only a third of his weight). He laughed at the thought and left the kid with the other and the cat, "Here's another, cat. Stay here, kiddo. I'll be back shortly."

Syeena stood in the doorway with a cocky expression on her face, her hand on her hip as if "you kept me waiting on a date" expression. "Well it is obvious for a gardener, you don't know the first thing about botany," she jokes as she held her remaining cards aloof in her hand. With her hood still up, her lips curled in a smile. "Every gardener knows that you don't cut off a weed. You pull it out by the root," she said.

While Titus left to take the child to Hex outside, Syeena knew exactly where she had to go. OUt of all the places they could search the mansion, the place was full of vines and moving shrubbery. But she now had a good idea of where the real source of the problem was.

Outside, Hex was sitting with the first child. The cat was sitting in the little girl's lap being petted and purring. She stopped however when she saw Titus come over. "I'm a cat! Not a daycare, muscle-brain! How do you expect me to handle these kids by my lonesome? Hire some mice to change diapers?" She was sassy but luckily the kids didn't really register the rudeness of the cat's language.

The little boy looked to Hex and smiled, never seeing a talking cat before. At least her cute appearance and witty wording would keep them entertained. Still, she felt in danger as the boy tried to pinch the cat's cheeks and whiskers. "I think I was safer with the mutant plants..." she mewed.

Syeena had returned to the main floor, having hopped down to the bottom and proceeded forward. She noticed as she walked the vines and roots grew thicker and greener the closer they were to the ground. WHile the vines overrun the estate, they were stronger to the earth. It meant the source of the problem was at ground level too. If not, lower.

Kicking in a door nearby, she saw as vines slowly slithered along the ground, coming from a stairwell leading likely into the cellar of the house. She looked at the room with interest. She probably should of waited and told Titus where she was going... but where was the fun in that? She thought, let's keep the knight on his toes. After all, she didn't feel like waiting up for him. Not when she knew where to go. If he was smart, which in her opinion he was one of the types with a pretty face and not much upstairs, he would know to check downstairs where the vines could originate from.

Cautiously, she stepped into the doorway and began to go down the stairs into the darkness.

Titus had made his way back inside, showing no remorse nor compassion for leaving the kids with the cat. However, he really was thinking about the lack of information that Syeena thought Titus had concerning plants. Having grown up on a farm and working on the farm on his lonesome, it'd be pretty pathetic if he didn't have any sensible knowledge of plants. Though the last thing that he would consider that monster is anything as tedious as a weed, you know, because only a monster would do such a terrible thing to a child. Regardless, he'd shrug it off and head back in, deciding to return to the most recent scene. It turned out that Syeena had begun searching elsewhere so Titus was a bit relieved by that so he began searching through some of the other rooms, but now that he had a moment to look around, he noticed something very peculiar.

In one of the rooms, in which the vines were not yet withering away, he noticed some flower buds growing on the vines. Granted, Syeena had noticed them first, but she had never mentioned anything to him. They were small white flowers, though some were blooming. It was quite bizarre as most flowers needed sunlight, water, and nutrients to grow. He figured that following their path was the best way to go, considering that there had to be a source strong enough to keep these plants so healthy. He made his way through each of the rooms, going through a variety of light levels. Eventually, he would find himself at a doorway that led downstairs, the very same ones that Syeena had just recently traversed. Following suit, he too would head down into the basement, where something terrible must be waiting.

He'd begin walking down the steps, but the third one he stepped on crushed beneath his foot. Luckily, he had caught himself using the walls for leverage, but he'd have to be more careful. Unfortunately, ten steps later, he'd have a small section of the stairway collapse beneath his weight and sent him tumbling down the rest of the stairs, "Damn this cursed house." Falling flat on his ass at the bottom, he'd grunt as he unwillingly got back up, finding that Syeena was only just up ahead, "Hey, find anything interesting?" The girlie wasn't moving nor reacting so Titus kept his distance, slightly confused by the sudden change from the girl's slight uppity personality, "Hello?"

Syeena wished she brought a card that would light up the place, providing better walking conditions as she tried to walk down the stairs. She kept a hand to the side of the wall, and slowed her steps so she wouldn't trip over anything too bad. Soft lighting was glowing further down in the dark but she couldn't see anything just yet. "Sure... I swear I seen this in a horror movie somewhere..." she said in dry humor, trying to keep her situation positive and humorous.

However, it didn't change the sudden drop she had as her next step became a steep slope!

"Whoh!!" she said as she went falling on her butt and slid down a moist slope of greenery. She came to an end of the slope and stopped, seeing a now eaten out cavern made of the basement. Vines grew all around the place, light generated by some fire-fly like creatures that were attracted to the moss and greenery.

Slowly getting up, she looked around to find anything significant. Then she found one! Another child, a little boy tied up in vines. He appeared to be asleep, and out cold. Slowly, she approached it. "Looks like its three out of--"

Suddenly as she took a step forward, the vines were at it again! They came to life around her and snagged to her legs! She struggled and grunted as she felt them snag her, now attempting to climb up and bind her limbs! "Damnit..." she swore as they snagged her waiste and lifted her upward into the air. She still had her cards in hand, as the vines began to wind around her.

She grunted and pulled to break free but was helpless as the vines began to grow more and more familiar to climb up her body... (Left to your imagination)
