What the hell was the clock? A question Shadow pondered as he stared into the wall of the danm tavern, or rather, a bar. One which did see its share of people but most of which seemed to be reoccuring customers, and therefore quick to let people do more than the usual, in this case Alastor had celebrated the end of a mission by drinking and playing cards, kid rarely drank but once alcohol touched his lips it never seemed to stop, what was worse, he stopped listening to Shadow and had bet all of his clothes away, even worse as he had been in nothing but underpants and had fallen asleep in a corner booth, snoring loudly into the morning, Shadow had to work hard to win everything back, risking their mission rewards in turn. Seriously, the kid was irresponsible sometimes, they had just risked their life for this cash and then he goes and looses it all, and who had to clean up? Yeah thats right, Shadow, always good ol' Shadow was to clean up. Sometimes he wanted to run away, but then he remembered he and Alastor was fused, they might as well be one being by now, and heck the kid would be lost without him. So could he leave him? No, would he? aaaah who was he kidding, he could never leave him fully now could he, that'd go against his own pact as spirit guide. Still snorring loudly, Shadow had to ask himself what he could do, nearly everyone around had gone home, or was not really mentally there by now, the bartender had been replaced and didn't seem too keen to shoo out a weirdo looking blind kid in a corner booth at this hour anyhow, kid would probably have a hangover or something and then scare her, yeah, she didn't get paid enough to deal with that kind of crap. She was too young to deal with it too in her own oppinion, barely 18 and had just gotten the job. Early easy hours so no problem with drunks for her. Of course Shadow was by now sitting with his cards, a card dealers cap floating randomly in the air along a pair of shades and a smoke, where despite his efforts to smoke it, smoke just blew out the back of it when he drew in air. The sight made it more seem like an invisible man had taken the chair and was now playing around with cards, waiting for someone to come by. |

Snow had been wandering around Poinsettia for the whole day. She had been handing out flyers in honor of her favorite for future king, Stefan, and was now dressed, most oddly, as the man himself and out of flyers. She had spent the day in costume, and she was tired. It was the wee hours at the moment, and she felt the need for a drink. Of course her feet carried her toward her favorite pub, The Lavender Dog. It was as she opened the door and waved at the new bar maid Dana that she realized the place was all but dead. She stifled a large yawn, her hand moving automatically to cover her mouth. It was odd for her, wearing so many clothes at once. And it was hot in here, despite the lack of bodies to provide excess heat. She took off the large coat revealing the tank top she had been wearing underneath. She signaled to Dana for her usual, a pint of butter beer and a sandwich. DANA shared her political views and was always happy to help her out on campaign day. It was because of Snow, really, that Toby had given the woman a job. He owed her one. Well, several really, and this took one favor off the list of things to be repaid. It was then that Snow spotted something familiar in the room, someone and something. It seemed her favorite blind mage was passed out on a nearby table, and in his place who should be sitting at the table? A certain mischievous Shadow, shuffling cards and apparently smoking though how he managed that she was rather unsure. She gave a grin and walked that way, plopping into the seat opposite the not quite solid apparition. "Well hello handsome. Fancy a game of cards with Al takes a nap?" |

For a moment the sunglasses on Shadow stared at Snow, almost like he didn't really believe she was here and truthfully he did catch himself in a moment doubting her presence in the tavern, even more so the ridiulous outfit that she was wearing, it looked like the weasely prince fellow who wanted the throne. One Alastor didn't care much for due to wanting to start a war, where Shadow more so could see the reasoning and the way the dark guilds could be used as a weapon, he'd prefer having dark guilds become a weapon over pure annihalation, maybe due to his own dark nature or maybe it was just that he wanted to see those fools who couldn't hide their own nature become prisoners of them. Nodding slightly his head turned to look at Al in the corner, he was clearly sleeping, and with quite the noise behind him, those were probably the lowest tones that pipsqueeks voice could produce. Even when he didn't hold back on his natural accent he didn't get all that low in his voice, something unusual to his tribe as he remembered. Turning his head back to Snow, a puff of smoke seemed to draw out back from the cigarette, seemed he couldn't really smoke but just kept it in his mouth for his own reasons, after all, the loa's of the voodoo world often saw tobacco as worthy offerings, probably because while it was in the human world they couldn't smoke it, and as such, only got it when offered. "sNNnrkk,... Vote Herad today, peace the way evry day all day...zzz" The noice blurted out of Alastor, seeming to jingle in his sleep, soon back to his usual snooring sounds, like chopping wood with a spoon. Still he was bored though, he couldn't talk to Snow after all, so what else was there really to do? He flipped out cards, poker, before placing everything in its place, the sunglasses looking at Snow to pick up the cards, almost like he awaited her to take them and make her bet. That woman was still one that got on her nerves, yet he respected her, but she was a rather stubborn one and sometimes too smart for his own good, yeah, his, not hers. Besides if she got too much influence on that pipsqueek he'd have a harder time influencing Alastor..... In a .... Good way~ Edited by Drame, Oct 26 2014, 06:48 PM.

Snow looked at the Shadow, well, for as much as she could look at the creature anyway. She wondered what form he had had before becoming this. She wondered if it ever bothered him to just be a shade in a world full of physical beings. She might have felt pity for him, of not for the fact that he was the one responsible for her near constant awkward awakening when it came to Doc. She sighed instead and looked down at the cards as he dealt them. She grinned a little as she listened to Doc snore. It wasn't something she was used to doing, since she nearly always went to sleep before him. He must have been severely drunk or severely tired. Either way, it was kinda cute. Even his little puddle of drool. "We gonna make a wager Shadow?" She grinned at the shade as it nodded its head, after it seemingly considered her words quite carefully. "All right. How about, I bet you a day of silence. I intend to spend the day with Doc tomorrow. If I win, you have to not say anything to him or do anything funny, other than explaining you can't talk to him. Same goes for me if I loose. Fair enough?" They had played this game before, though last time it had been on a boat and with Doc instead of Shadow. He seemed to consider again, and she didn't look at her cards as he did so. While she waited, three girls stumbled in. They were apparently already half way drunk, and they eyed her for a moment before coming over. "Are you...uh...are you dressed up like Prince Stefan?" This was from the first one, petit blond. Snow nodded. "Can you tell us about him?" She grinned and moved to stand, going over to where she had put down her jacket. "I could, but it would take ages. All you girls need to know is in these flier." She handed one to each, the blonde, the brunette, and the red head. "He's so handsome!" Said one, "and so smart!" Said another. Snow gave a grin. She didn't mind at all helping fellow citizens do the right thing. "Vote Stefan!" She said almost cheerily before going back to the table with Shadow. "Three down, multitudes to go. So how about it?" She quirked a brow at him, and put on a grin. She hoped he would take the bet. She knew he said more to Alastor than she could rightly hear, and she would be happy with a day of no funny business if she could get away with it. |

Shadow grabbed his hand on the table, looking into the cards then putting them down, Alastor was making his constant noises, at least he was sleeping off the worst of the hangover he'd acquire once he was awoken from his sleep. Alastor had taken in so much that even Shadow had lost track of all they had been doing, though he had faint recollections of them doing all sorts of weird things, still, he thought shrugging to himself, at least they hadn't been caught on doing it. Maybe seen but not caught. Shadow seeming almost lost in his own thoughts until he heard the word bet, the dealers cap and the sunglasses turning to face Snow properly as she spoke. While nobody but those who actually watched his etheral form really would notice, a smile spread upon his cheeks at the delightful bet Snow propositioned. He didn't mind her tagging along, at least it would be someone else than the hungover kid, but deciding i she could speak or not gave his cruel mind almost a small thrill, a shiver of delight, the cigarette was clearly chewed a bit at the end as he grinned his teeth in the smile, nodding in delight as three girls came into the shop. She sure was doing her part to take part in politics, no way he and Alastor would do such a thing unless it was for the money. *click, Kkhhttzz* the sound of an old radio being turned on, at first as if by karma itself, but it was quickly revealed to be from the hands of the bar maid Dana. The tired, but relaxed morning host seemed in midst of speaking. "So yeah as it turns out that, uh, apparantly some mage had a bit too much to drink?" "How much did he have to drink Henry?" Asked the co-host. "Well this tophatted gentleman seemed to have gotten so drunk he was swinging from a rope off of one of the public buildings, while painting a picture of the prince Herad, at least that was what it looked like, it seems more like he violently swung the brush while thinking of the prince and forgot to paint things in their proper spots, ears for eyes, eyes underneath and a volcano on his head. Quite the weird thing" "Talk about having bit too much to drinnk" "too much? Lets talk about too little - I just ran out of coffee!" Almost as driven by clock work Al stood up, mumbling incoherent words as he walked to the radio, much alike a zombie searching for brains. He placed a small bag of jewels on the table, grabbed the radio, and threw it right into the trashcan "noiiisee." he mumbled before going back to his booth to sleep a bit more. He was tired after all. Almost like his body became a rag doll he crashed into his place and within a few seconds he was back to snoring, his own little sleeping song. Meanwhile Shadow played his hand, two queens with another queen flipped onto the table, 3 of a kind. Grinning he turned to look at Snow who had yet to flip her cards, wondering what kind of hand she had and also thinking of the wondrous silence she'd make. |

Snow picked up her cards, her face showing worry she didn't actually feel. It was at about this time that she heard the radio broadcast and made a face at her friend who was mostly sleeping still. Heard? Really? Yucky. But she wouldn't be mean to Doc about it. That wasn't her way. She loved him too dearly to ever have a fuss about political things with him. She may have giggled a bit as she listened, finding out third hand that he had made some giant painting of the man somewhere. She could hardly believe it. But then again, it was Doc. She sighed a little, wondering just what good Shadow was if he couldn't keep the man out of serious trouble. The girl behind the bar gave a look of confusion followed closely by fright when Alastor got up and broke her radio. Poor thing. At least he he had been kind enough to give her compensation for the loss. Not that Snow wouldn't do her level best to ease the anger further. The girl owed her one at least. She wouldn't make much of a fuss in the end. Snow watched as Shadow laid out his hand. He would be smiling, she had no doubt, if he had been able. She heaved sigh as she looked at his cards and then at her own, giving the impression that she was somehow disappointed in what she held. It was all for show of course. She laid her hand down almost desolatly, as though it were a chore and she was embarrassed for Shadow to see what she held. Of course once the sunglasses moved down, and a quick disbelieving head shake happened, she grinned from ear to ear. "Well, I do look forward to my day of silence in the morning. Dana, these two need a room for the night. I will be sleeping in mine." She gave another smile at Shadow, who seemed to be waving his hands for something like a 2 out of three rematch. "I'm not sure if I'm more disturbed that I know what you're saying, or the fact you're trying to get me to let you cheat." As she had little doubt that he would cheat given half a chance. "But the answer is no, in any case. Drag his sorry rear upstairs. I look forward to seeing both of you in the morning." Another gesture from Shadow made her blush, and she knew that was on purpose. "NO I am not sharing a room with him. I would like to wake up with my clothes on thank you very much." With that she turned, grabbing the things she had set down when she came in. It had been a long day, and she just wanted a nap. She may have dropped a bit of extra money on the counter and winked at the barmaid before heading up. She knew Dana would be kind enough to bring her order upstairs. Edited by Inara Serra, Oct 17 2014, 06:50 PM.

H.how?! HOW THE HELL?! Shadow was gritting his dark teeth so much that the cigarrette was getting almost as good as chewed in his sharpened teeth, she had freaking beaten him! How? HE WAS A SHADOW WITH NO FACE! HE HAD THE ULTIMATE POKER FACE! Grumbling to himself he wanted to say something, except he couldn't and Al was still snorring like a sawwork in full swing and even then he couldn't because he lost a gosh darn bet! How was he now to annoy her if he couldn't even say anything to Alastor?! Taking a deep breath he sighed to himself, outplayed, he couldn't even get the dang lady to do a 2 out of 3! How very unfair! Grumbling to himself he listened to Snow's word, it was as if she read his danm mind as she made sure to get seperate rooms as well. He sighed to himself, Alastor would need a crapton of sleep anyways, and as Snow left up the stairs, Shadow was sitting in the chair with is arms crossed, spitting out the cigarette and in annoyance flipped the table before swooping down and grabbing a broomstick, pushing it under Alastor's clothes and dragging him upwards. Only issue was Alastor was as slippery as an eel, and as he lifted he kept falling off, he eventually began to just push him with the broom, like a ragdoll he was pushed up the stairs, his arse in the air with legs over his snoring corpus as he made it halfway, and finally into his own room. Where, once inside, even more crashes, groans and grumbling voices were held "nuuuh- is not sleepy time im uu-zzzzz" the voice of what could have been a very tired seemed to sound as finally Shadow had Alastor tucked in properly, grumbling to himself he was a spirit guide not a maid or parent, yet he seemed stuck with that blind fool. The next morning Alastor finally seemed to awake, mumbling to himself that he could barely remember the night before, only something about a radio, paint, and possibly temporarily being naked, slowly putting on his clothes on he could feel his joints ache a bit and he sure as heck wasn't fully awake, he didn't even remember buying a room for the night, last memory he had was playing cards with less than good citizens. Getting downstairs he was met with Shadow who out of boredom had spent the night cleaning up from himself and others, as well as working as a bit of a bouncer, having thrown out a few too drunk people. Having the tavern get the rumor to be cursed to throw bad people out didn't bother Dana one bit it seemed. "Blmurning" the words barely escaped the kids lips as he sat down at a table, Dana quickly bringing over a wooden ale mugs worth of coffee as well as a scrambled eggs and sausages "bu- I didn't buy this" He spoke mumbling to himself, his head almost falling onto the table, Dana laughing to herself for a bit "well, the radio turned out to be fine, so you kind of did" "Radio? I dun remember any radio" Alastor spoke as he bit down into the sausages, as simple as they were they were filled with fats, protein and salts which his body craved and he smiled in a faint joy "oh loa this is good, thank you Dana" his voice cheering up a bit as she just nodded and went back to her work. "Now why so quiet Shadow?" He asked, and the only answer he got was cause Snow won, and she'd be down soon, by which he meant he was about to go tear off the hinges off her down to scare her, though he obviously decided against it and just knocked heavily like an invading army of soldiers before quickly sliding back down to Alastor again. |

Snow awoke to the sound of someone knocking hard on her door. She jumped out if bed, her first thought that Doc had gotten himself into some sort of trouble. Of course that was far from the case. She threw open the door only to find the hallway empty, save for a terribly familiar shade slithering down the stairs. She chuckled to herself, seeing this as the slight form of revenge that it was. She turned back to the room, dressing rather conservatively for her. She wore long pants, though they were skin tight, and a pair of combat boots instead of her regular stilettos. Her corset even sported little cap sleeves. All of it was black, her only spot of color the sharp contrast of the blood-red ribbon around her upper arm. The stretched a few times and smiled again as she exited the room. Without realizing it she had begun to whistle, a merry little tune at that. She was sure she could see Shadow seething annoyance at her apparently peppy mood as she entered the main part of the bar. She made quick small talk with Dana, about Toby working her too hard, and about the only slightly awake mage sitting at the bar. Since Shadow couldn't talk, and her cinversatio. With Dana had been relatively quiet, she got the luxury of sneaking up on her good friend. She hugged him rather hard, a smile in her face. "Hello Doc. How's the hangover coming along?" She laughed a bit and settled into a seat beside him. "Dana, how about a plate of bacon, from my special store. And uh.. some toast and eggs please. Butterbeer to drink." The woman nodded and pulled out about a pound of bacon kept on a special shelf of the fridge. Snow's spoils from a hunt sometime ago. Best bacon she had ever had, and even taking it slow, it was taking quite a while for her to work through it. "Heard you got into some interesting sorts of things yesterday Doc. Wanna tell me about it?"[/color |

As little as he'd usually admit it, he was too hung over, or tired, or sore. Whichever it was it had been so much he wasn't fully there when Snow had been chatting with Dana, all too much he'd been consuming the meal meant to revive perhaps an ogre or a tiny dragon with its nutrients so unbalanced towards the salt, fat and sugars that perhaps it'd be capable of causing a fast bastard to have a heart attack within the first few bites. Non the less he seemed to gobble it down happily as well as chug the inhuman amount of morning coffee. His bowels would probably complain later but that was for another time, right now he just wanted to enjoy his breakfast, focus entirely on his own body and mind to help keep it in balance. As suddenly he was hugged, he gave a small jump "EEK WHO IS DAR?!" His accent fully flying out in the moment, stabbing a forked sausage into the empty air before he recognized the smell and a wide smile came onto his face "SNooooww!!~" Quickly the young witch doctor embraced his friend back, burying his face into his friend, turning his face to look up with a confused face "yesterday?? I uuh, ...idunno?" He spoke as he seemed to try remember last night, you could almost hear the old bronze gears in his head attempt to turn, only to note that 3 gears had interlocked, thus incapable of any movement. "I went out to get a celebration drink, and then... uuuh.... stuff. Yeah stuff... Either ways I just finished a mission meaning I earned lots of money though!" Alastor giggling to himself as he patted a very full jewel bag. "Turns out there is good cash in removing dark spirits haha" giggling to himself, despite money didn't hold much value to Alastor it was nice knowing rent was paid for a while. Taking a deep sip of his coffee Alastor turned his head again to Snow "So what have you been doing?" He asked with a big grin, Shadow wanting to tell about the funny looks Snow had had the day before, and tell Alastor how immensely shitfaced and dumb he had acted the night before, seemed the kid could not remember a single sip of it, maybe it was for his own good, but it'd be fun to see him turn oh so pale at the realization of it all. "Either ways, got any plans for today? I've been asked to help some friends I know and owe a favor to put up some stuff for them, they gotten really into all the politics stuff that has been going on" Alastor spoke laughing to himself as he leaned back in the chair, the mug of dark brew resting on his stomach. "Its not much for me, I mean this ain't even my country, but I do owe a favor and I don't see any harm in helping them. They just want to inform people a bit" shruggingly he took another sip before leaning forward and finishing his meal, Snows presence really seemed to lighten the whole hangover shenanigans on him. Which he noted for the future, though he did remember one time they both got a lit- a looooot more to drink than was safe. |

Snow laughed, and neatly ate the sausage aimed at her face. She was glad her reflexes were quick. Sausage to the eye didn't sound pleasant. It was obvious that her friend had been so dead drink he had forgotten all about his graffiti. She could see Shadow practically writhing, wanting to fill in the blanks. She was surprised he hadn't spent the time while she was sleeping trying to talk Doc into running off without her, and had instead woke her up. She eyed the thing, and gave a wink. It seemed he was a shadow of his word. That garnered respect from her end. She gave Doc another winning smile. "I did hear something about graffiti. And you. Thanks to the radio. You may be a wanted man in this town after your stunts last night." She looked at Dana as she brought her the plate of bacon. It smelled heavenly, as always. And the eggs were just right. She ate quickly, listening as Alastor spoke. "I would love to come to a political rally with you. Just so long as it doesn't get too crazy." She ate quickly, and Dana, Angel that she was, gave her a crown from behind the bar. It was a running joke between them, since Snow had turned Prince Stefan into a political crush. Dana kept swearing the girl would be a princess some way or the other. She laughed and put it on, ready to wear it for the day. "All right Doc. Ready when you are." She stood and stretched. "Oh ... and Shadow lost to me in cards last night. So he has to be silent for the day. Even to you." She gave a grin in Shadow's direction. It was nice to rub it in.. just a little bit. |
