Alright. So they were in agreement. The two would only kill it if the little fox spirit meant to hurt them. That was perfectly fine with the blonde girl. In fact, that was the better out come than just flat out trying to kill the little thing. What happens if it was cute and scared? What if it was missing it's mother and father? It's family? Luna couldn't just let the little creature be hurt if it was just scared and alone. It was her duty to help people! And fox demons counted at the moment. So the two walked through the forest until they had gotten to a clearing. Her demon guild walked before her and into the middle of the clearing, bowing as if he was bowing to someone before him. Did that mean the fox was here? Maybe it did. And then her guild started speaking. He had asked for the fox spirit to show himself as well as to figure out what it was he wanted. "We're not going to hurt you," Luna said as she took a small step forward. Then realizing that she had hear Saint's Flame out, and in battle ready mode, the girl quickly returned it back to the key-chain it once was and put it back in her pocket. "See? No weapons. The two of us just want to talk with you. Are you lost? If you are, we can help you." She glanced around the clearing with her purple eyes. Slowly, she looked over every inch of this spell like forest....waiting for any kind of clue that could help her and the demon with her figure out what was going on. |

Nihil looked back to see that Luna was also doing her best to be approachable to the fox spirit. Though he was a bit worried when she had forgotten to lose the weapon, but soon enough she corrected it. It was interesting how the scythe transformed into its keychain self again. Perhaps the girl was more than just the innocent one he first thought she would be. He hummed a bit as if to entice the spirit, though he had a feeling part of the fox’s reluctance to communicate was because he was only pretending to be a demon. That would definitely be a problem. And just as they waited, there was a sudden gush of wind. Nihil looked around rather cautiously. He may have had experience with the supernatural due to Leon’s nature of work, but he was never allowed to go hunting on his own. He was, so to say, still a novice at that. He was still working his way with the procedures and the formalities, and yet he was already biting more than he could chew in this little adventure of his. And he knew it. There was a certain presence in the air and it was running around like a kid with some prank. Soon enough, the presence would zoom past him, pushing him aside that made him fall before he looked on and warned her, “Luna, watch out!” And the said presence would zoom like the wind, passing underneath her, blowing her yukata up which made Nihil blush in embarrassment and seemed to have bitten off the ribbon she wore. An outline of the fox spirit could be seen taking the ribbon away and dashing into the trees. |

And so they waited and waited. Hayna started to hum as he waited around for the fox spirit to make some kind of move. And Luna? Well she let out a sigh and stood there. She relaxed a bit and wondered if this little fox was ever going to show itself to her and the demon guild. Maybe it had already left? Maybe this was just some kind of trick that the local people played on random girls who walked into the forest all by themselves. But then things started to happen. A sudden wind came at them. Hayna fell to the ground and yelled to her. Luna was too slow. Her yukata started to blow up, which caused the blonde to quickly put her hands on the fabric to keep it from blowing up any further. Her eyes had closed as well when the wind rushed past her. And....her hair came lose? Once the wind passed, the blonde opened her eyes and quickly grabbed the back of her head to realize that in fact her ribbon was gone. Luna quickly turned around an noticed that this fox, or was seemed like an outline of a fox, started to run off with her ribbon. That was so not cool! "Hey you! That's my ribbon you have there!" And so, like in complete Luna fashion, she blonde girl started to run after the fox spirit. She didn't want to lose track of it. It had something of hers and she wasn't going to let it get away with stealing it. After all, it wasn't a very nice thing to do. It was a good few moments into the running after the fox that Luna remembered the fact that Hayna was with her. Or rather, he was in the clearing and was knocked to the ground. Maybe she should have gone over to him and helped him up before running off. Maybe she should start heading back and looking for him. But as she glanced behind her, she wasn't sure she was 100% sure she knew where it was she ran from. If they were in some kind of spell, did that mean that the forest might change around them. So she came to a stop and called out to him. "Hayna....can you hear me? If you can, come towards my voice. We shouldn't get split up in something like this." And so waited for a reply from him. |

Nihil was a little worried that the fox spirit would do something more vile, but it seemed like it was more or less attached to the ribbon of the girl. So he quickly got up and made chase. He was worried that Luna would find herself lost in the forest if she insisted to chase alone and he was right. No sooner had she disappeared from his field of vision, the forest seemed to have changed. There was no longer darkness but light. The moonlit heavens were shining upon them and through the slants of light that went through the canopy of leaves, he could almost see the festival sight just up ahead. “This is bad,” he said as he raised his mask and with a click of his tongue he turned back to the depths of the forest. “I’m not leaving without her so you better let me back in!” He exclaimed to the forest, waiting for a response. He wasn’t at all patient and he hoped the fox spirit would know that. “I’m warning you,” he held his right arm where his vambrace was and readied to pull out Rektikano when needed, “You won’t like me without the fun part.” Meanwhile, Luna would hear no response to her call. Instead, after a brief moment of silence she would find a fox with golden fur, mixed with black and white linings. Most importantly, this fox seems to have four tails and wore a headgear armor around its neck. It’s small blue eyes were trained towards Luna and it smirked like an eager player. “Hello!” the fox said, “Are you lost?” |

Luna didn't hear Hayna say anything. Maybe she ran further than she thought? Or maybe they had been lost within the spell. Whatever the case was, she should go and find her guild and actually stick to him this time and not leave him. It was a foolish mistake on her part. Really it was. But the fox had her ribbon and she wanted it back. Sure she could have gotten a new one later, or maybe even at the festival, but that was beside the point. That was her ribbon, not the fox's. A voice called out to her after a moment, making the blonde girl turn around and looking at the owner of the voice. It was a fox. Maybe it was the fox that stole her ribbon. It wasn't a normal fox, that was for sure. It had four tails. Though...she couldn't deny the fact that it was rather cute....even if it seemed to smirk at her as if waiting for her to slip up. She wasn't going to slip up. Right? Right. Hopefully she could get out of this on her own. So she let out a huff and looked at the fox. "I think you took something from me. My ribbon. The ribbon that was holding my hair back. Do you think you can give it back to me?" She watched him, or her, as she said this. Wondering if it was going to like the fact that she wanted her ribbon back or nor. Though...it did ask a question so maybe Luna should have answered it. It was the polite thing to do. "Yes. I am lost. I was looking for the festival that was in the forest. I was looking to have a fun time in this forest with the rest of the people celebrating you. Do you know how to get to it?" |

“A ribbon?” the fox repeated with a rather coy smile, “I don’t have any ribbons. I don’t like ribbons. The villagers like to litter a lot of those things during this time of year. Mother gets angry too because she always ends up having to clean them.” And the fox somehow imitated her sigh with a loud huff as he sat down and seemingly to be thinking deeply. “Though I suppose it was Miki who did it. He always loves to play with lost people.” He sighed again, making him look like an old man. Meanwhile, Nihil was waiting and waiting and when there was no response, he decided it was time to take action upon himself. He used Court’s magic to summon Rektikano on his right arm and swiveled the blade to its right formation. Raising it high, he focused his magic on it to activate its ability and then with one last warning, “I’m coming, fox!” he slashed down. For a moment, there was nothing. And then, he saw the light in front of him swirl as if it was being sucked into a hole. The light, the background, everything about him including the sound of the festival was sucked into the spot where he slashed Rektikano’s Quan[t] Slicer which would sever any magical sources from its effects. And soon enough the illusion would disappear. But why was he back in the entrance of the woods? “Of course! Damn it. That fox led me astray and now that Lady is somewhere inside. Great!” He grumbled as Rektikano swiveled back to its backhand position and he started to run into the forest. With the Hannya mask on, he activated it’s enchantment, allowing him to see better and move faster. This would help in his search for Luna. Back to Luna, the fox was showing much disappointment about this certain Miki fox. “He’s a good kid but he’s too playful and most of the time he ends up making trouble instead of helping others. I’m sure he only wanted to help clean up the mess but he should have known you weren’t throwing away your ribbon. Come along, let’s find him.” |

Luna blinked at the fox. He didn't like ribbons? Was this maybe not the fox she was looking for? This sort of put her at ease. But only slightly. Maybe this fox was just trying to trick her? Maybe this was the actual fox and- no this was not the fox who stole her ribbon. Once he sat down and let out a sigh, Luna could tell this fox wasn't trying to hurt her. She could trust him. A smile formed on her lips as she continued to listen to the fox. It seemed as though this was just an older brother fox that wanted to do what was right. "Are you the fox's older brother? I have an older brother who would play tricks on me all the time. But it was out love." She thought about it for a moment. This Miki who stole her ribbon didn't exactly hurt her. No not at all. it was just a harmless little prank. Something that her brother might do. So she gladly walked up to this other fox and started to follow him further into the forest. "It must be a pain to pick up all those ribbons. I could understand not liking ribbons." She put her hands behind her back and walked comfortably next to this other fox as if she had not a worry in the world. "Shouldn't these people know better than to just trash your lovely forest? People can be so terrible sometimes. Littering a forest could be dangerous. What if some animal walked across something and got hurt because of it?" Luna frowned at the thought. That was terrible. No animal should get hurt. Even when she used to live in the cold north and they had to hunt for food, you still didn't go out to just hurt the animals. It was like a natural respect. You only go after animals that you intend to kill. You always thank them for giving their life to keep yours going. And i there was a hurt animal you helped it. But that was beside the point. She turned to the fox again. "I was told that I shouldn't give my name to demons. But if feels wrong to have you helping me and you not even knowing my name, or me knowing your name. Is it alright if I ask you your name?" |

The fox scoffed at her words. “Older brother? No, no, no.” He almost turned his head without another word as if to snob Luna but he stopped midway and smirked a rather mischievous smirk. “I’ll take that a compliment rather than an insult. I am his younger brother. He just so happens to be smaller and more rampant. And he always bring in trouble.” He then walks off into the forrest, herding Luna along, “Come on. Let’s look for him before he troubles other people.” At that point, Nihil found himself running so fast he couldn’t stop in time. He was alerted by the presence of someone and he was heading towards them. But as he did near them, he saw Luna and a rather large strange looking fox. He had only a moment to jump and avoid certain collision when something else jumped together with him. It bumped into him, grabbing at his head and jumping off from him. He ended up crashing towards the nearest tree while a smaller version of orange fox appeared to be standing on the ground. He, however, only had one tail and that one tail was wrapped with so many ribbons. “Miki!” the fox said as he seemed surprised by the sudden appearance of so many people at once. “You did it again!” “No, I didn’t. I stopped this demon from attacking you.” the fox replied as he pointed with his tail towards where Nihil was at. Nihil, dusted off his yukata and stood up only to glare down at Miki through his mask. “On the contrary, we were playing hide and seek with your illusion, weren’t we?” “Not again? Miki, you always do this every year!” “Hey, no honorifics? I’m older brother!” and the small fox and the large fox began to wrestle comically. |

Luna looked to the fox with large eyes. She didn't mean to offend him! "I'm sorry. Just the way to talk about him it seems like he's the younger brother." She scratched the back of her head and glanced away. This wasn't exactly the best way to repair a relationship. Though...the fox didn't seem as though he was that offended by it. Which was good. She would have hated to make enemies with such a friendly fox demon. And so they continued walking through the forest without much complain until her demon guild seemed to come out of nowhere. This stunned the fire mage. How fast was he going? Fast enough where he couldn't exactly stop. But just as he was jumping off to the side, another fox leaped out of nowhere and caused the other to crash into a tree. Well then. He really wasn't getting any good luck right now, was he? "Are you alright?" Luna called out to the man as he stood up and spoke to the smaller fox who then proceeded to fight with his bigger yet younger brother. And so Luna glanced over at this smaller fox and noticed all the ribbons he had upon his tail. This caused the blonde girl to frown and yell out to the smaller fox. "Hey! You stole my ribbon, sir! I would like to have my ribbon back so I can tie my hair up again." Maybe it wasn't going to be in a braid she was wearing earlier, but she did want it pulled back again. After all, she was wearing a fox mask to this festival. But that was beside the point. And as she waited for the two foxes to stop fighting, or doing whatever they were doing, she turned to Hannya again. She gave him an awkward smile as she scratched the back of her head. "Sorry I ran off earlier....but at least we found one another and the fox that stole my ribbon. Right?" She awkwardly laughed and just looked back to the two foxes, waiting for them to get done again. |

Nihil sighed and scratched the back of his head. He knew the fox was trouble the moment it opened its mouth to speak. Who would have thought there were so many fox spirits in the forest? Well, considering it was the Inari Festival, it could be thought of, but two mischievous little runts? He sighed again as he walked towards Luna, looking a bit more worried about her. “At least you weren’t harmed. I would never forgive myself if I had lost you. I am bound to my word to bring you to the festival and it would tarnish my reputation as a demon to go back on my word.” Just then, the scuffle between the brothers ended as they seemed to launch straight at Nihil’s back. This forced the blonde demon to fall over face first while the brothers seemed to strike a pose on his back, obviously seeming to have agreed on thing. “We’ve conquered the imposter!” “Show your true self, imposter! You don’t smell like a real demon at all!” And much to Nihil’s ire he had to relent. He ended up rolling over so the brothers fell on the side and as he sat down, he took off his hannya mask. “Geez! Can’t you two behave your age? I heard the foxes around here are old enough to stop playing like children.” “CHILDREN?!!! The nerve!” “And just so you know, the village asked me personally to be the Hannya. So if you have qualms, go talk to your priest... who should be waiting for us by now.” he sighed again before pushing the brothers aside and standing up. He looked back to Luna as if everything that was happening was quite normal. Just another everyday occurrence. “Oh right, I’m not a real demon, milady. But for tonight, I am one,” he slips on his mask and the two brothers instantly tackled him to the ground again. “No!!!! The priest is gonna be angry with me!” the older brother said. “We must repair the damage caused!” the younger said. “Then return the blasted ribbon and get back to the festival!” Nihil suggested, wrestling to get the two worry-wart brothers off of him. “Geez! And while doing so, you might as well take us. If we’re all late, we’ll all be punished!” And the two brothers began to cry and whine and curl on top of his chest as he was pushed down again. “We only wanted to help!” “Mother will hate us!” “Were you two even listening to me?” Edited by Sinjin, Nov 11 2014, 07:31 AM.
