It had seemed as though everything that Luna had done was doing something dangerous and nearly getting herself killed, doing something to do with the undead and fainting, or sometimes both of those rapped up into one. So the fire mage had decided to take a holiday. Where? Well to Lavender Forest of course. She couldn't remember the last time she had been here. For that matter...she couldn't remember if she had ever come here. Regardless, the blonde had found herself in the woods today. And on this day, this very special day, was that of the Fox Festival. The day where fox spirits are said to be walking around with humans. Of course the festival was being held at a different part of the forest, much deeper in it, and Luna being Luna...she couldn't exactly find it. So here was this blonde girl, walking through the purple forest, looking for some kind of clue to show her the way to get to where she was meant to go. She had even dressed up, sort of, for this thing. Instead of having her hair down or in the ponytail, she had her hair in that circular braid and off of her neck. She had even gotten a hold of a fox mask back in the city. Her clothes? Well normally she had worn her large jacket. Today she decided to leave that behind and just stroll around in her normal everyday clothing. Long boots that reached to her knees, short skirt, sleeveless turtleneck that showed off both her Cross on her left shoulder and her guild tattoo on her right shoulder. She had even decided to take out her purple contacts and just have her normal brown ones today. But anyways. As Luna continued forward, she came to a fork in the path she was walking on and sighed. She could have gone left, or she could have gone right. Man...if only I wasn't so bad at following directions..." the fire mage said out loud to herself as she studied the paths. "Left....or right...?" |

Nihil was wearing a kimono for the first time. That was because he had never been able to buy one even if he had come to like their designs. Still, he had come from the nearby village with the knowledge of a forest festival. Apparently, he got hold of the information from a bunch of drunk villagers who were also supposed to go to the festival but were too drunk to even move that he was given the task to do their jobs instead. That was the start. Eventually, he had ended up being a tour guide for the villagers. Well, a guide was a more adequate term since he only showed the way to the said festival and the kimono he bought was working well with him. It made him look like a normal villager and the hanya mask fit his costume. Though hanyas resembled the demons in noh plays, in this particular festival, they were the guides for souls to the fox festival where the foxes would grant their blessings. During one of his rounds along the forest, he happened to perchance a lost girl in an equally exquisite kimono. He stalked her from the trees, having no clue who she was for was certain he had finished escorting all the women listed in the book. You see, the villagers were all accounted for. And those in charge of the visitors were different and already having their tour. So who was this young lady? he wondered “It’s left,” he finally said when the mysterious blonde girl stopped in front of the forked road, and he appeared from behind a tree behind her, masked and all, “Right is also right. But only the brave of heart can truly find their destination.” He was playing the hanya very well. “What is your name, milady? You seem foreign.” |

Ah left or right. Right or left...so many ways to go. Maybe if she just picked on and walked, that would have been better. But what if one way got her lost? What if these weren't even the right ways to go? Could that have been a possibility? Oh man what if that was a possibility? As a sigh had escaped the girl, a voice had popped out of nowhere. Confused, Luna turned around to find someone dressed up for the festival. Did he, or she..or it....he. Yeah he...say something? She glanced back at the fork in the road and remembered what he said. Turning around and facing him, the blonde girl laughed awkwardly and scratched the back of her head before speaking again. "Yeah I'm not from around here. I only just heard of the festival and hurried on over." Luna put her fox mask over her face and titled her head to the side. Thinking of herself kind of weird...she put her mask down and looked to the left side of the road. "You said that it's to the left? Then I think we can go to the left. I mean...if that's the way to get to the place then I would love to go that way." Luna turned back to the man in the mask and out stretched her hand. "By the way....my name is Luna. Luna Anna Nichole. If you could show me the way to the festival, I would be very happy sir demon." She smiled to the demon guy and wondered if he was someone who lived around here or if he was someone like her and just happened to show up. Or maybe he was an actual demon? Could that happen? Nah...maybe not. But regardless, she had given him her name, time to ask a few questions. "So...you have a name? And are you from around here? I mean..if you know which way to go, then I guess you have to at least know your way around the forest, right?" Right. She was right...right? |

Nihil was quite amused by this girl. She was funny and yet cute. And brave enough to share her name so easily, so he had to rectify that mistake. “Oh, little girl, if you tell your name so easily like that, any demon would want to eat you up. Name provides the power over one’s life and if you take it for granted, it will be to your doom,” he said, still playing as hanya and perhaps adding a bit of his personal flair and style to the mix. He then slowly walked away from behind and approached the girl, taking his hand. He was surprised that she was very trusting in a way and it only made him worry all the more. “Should I take you elsewhere? For such a trusting little girl, this demon is all but flattered. I have fallen from where I perched in the hopes of eating a daring soul yet one such soul appears and have only made me blush. It is a disgrace.” He chuckled though by the end of the statement as he then slowly led her along the way, taking the path to the left. He might be cold to the touch but only because he was not accustomed to the lightness of the fabric of the kimono that made him feel cold at times, but he was so persistent to do a good job in his role for those drunks that he didn’t mind. After all, it wasn’t just a simple task. He would also be rewarded by joining in the feast, a few nights in a comfortable spa and perhaps to stay a little longer in that relaxing village before he went back home. So Hanya was who he was. “I am called many names,” it wasn’t a lie now that the girl known as Luna was asking for his name and even when it often irked him before, he was slowly finding peace in being asked for his name, “You can so choose what you want. I may lead you in the right path or not. It is my discretion alone.” He then paused and turned to face her, blue eyes looking through the small holes of the demon mask, “Let us try with the name, Hanya. If you trust me enough we can find our way to the festival. Or perhaps somewhere else.” And he began to lead again, far deeper now into the woods, where a bit of the songs and dances could now be heard but there was still no sign of it. “Do you believe in demons, Luna?” he asked. |

She tilted her head to the side. Wait what? Was something going on here? Was giving her name to people really such a wrong thing? It never bothered anyone before. And it never really bothered her either. So what if people knew her name? It meant that she wasn't called 'That girl' or 'blondie' or even 'Hey You'. But now she was being told not to say her name otherwise bad things will happen? Eh...she felt as if she could get out of whatever trouble she would get into. Then the man demon thing said that he was flattered that she was so trusting? She was receiving mixed signals. But she guessed that this wasn't such a bad thing. Better to have a flattered demon who slightly blushed rather than a demon that was trying to eat your soul. ....Demons eat souls right? Right. Yeah he said that. Totally. Yeah totally. Or at least somewhere along those lines. Anyways they started to walk towards the party. Or at least it sounded like that was what was happening. It was a bit confusing. Luna could hear people having a good time, yet she didn't see anything yet. Maybe they were going to be getting there soon. "Hanya is a good name..." the blonde said out loud as she thought about the question that he asked her. Did she believe in demons? Well why not? She had seen a lot of things in her life. Like the undead, a lot of undead actually, monsters, floating masks, dragons that could destroy whole cities and the entire world if they let it....and yes. She had seen a demon before. "Of course I believe in demons. Actually I just came back from Galuna Island and fought one there...well...more like sealed it away again. We really didn't kill it." She sighed and she walked forward. It was upsetting that they couldn't just kill it. It killed so many people. So many. But that wasn't her place. At least she had managed to reseal it. Turning back to Hanya, she smiled to him. "I would ask if you believe in demons...but you claim you are one so I guess you do. So..do you believe that there are still fox spirits hanging around this forest?" |

“Why, of course! I have been bitten quite a few times. Those little rascals. Always playing pranks on humans and demons alike,” Nihil quickly said though he was certain that this mythology he was now talking about had nothing to do with the fox spirits of this certain forest fox festival. Then again, he had immersed himself with too many books lately that all those cultures were already beginning to overlap with each and other, and even reality was slowly melding with fantasy. He sighed at the thought of it and knew Leon would be upset should he find out his ward was getting careless like this. So they continued to walk and even he was beginning to notice that the sound of merriment was nearby yet nothing could be seen. He was certain of the direction since he had done it so many times that day already that he could very well walk around in a pitchblack world and still find his way. He was very good with directions, you see. A born survivalist and a natural in living in the forest. Yet, there they were, walking in this path he led and there was seeming no sign of the festival site other than more trees. As the forest became dense, and what little light there was piercing into the trees, Nihil had a bad feeling about it. He stopped in his tracks as he looked around, through the mask and through heightened sense. It took only a moment’s glance to realize that there was something abound. Something eerie and magical that was floating in the air. And the world seemed fake. “Oh, I believe one of the foxes has already shown itself, Lady Luna.” he commented, not really wanting to let his act die out so easily, but he was also serious about it, “You see, I heard that the fox had children and one of them was a trickster. Perhaps, we have fallen into its illusion.” And he turned to face her with as much genuine confidence he could muster, “Don’t fret. I am here, though. We shall find a way.” |

OOC: Sorry for the rather late reply. >.< Luna glanced at the demon and was rather confused. They would nip at him? That was weird. Her experience with a demon wasn't anything like that. The demon who was trapped in a Bunny's body was rather mean and did its best to kill her and Adrian. Nothing like this. But maybe there were demons who would just bit humans and other demons alike and scurry off. She shrugged. It wasn't her place to question demons. If he said that they would bite him then they would bite them. As they continued along, the forest got a bit denser. A bright light could be seen trough the trees and made Luna want to go towards it. It looked kinda pretty to be honest. But when her guide stopped and started talking again, the fire Mage turned around and looked at him. "A trickster? I wouldn't be surprised if this fox spirit did have kids but... Luna glance out into the woods again. Was this something that wasn't good? Maybe she should take this with a bit more of a serious manner. So Luna stopped and paused. If this trickster was someone who wasn't good, does that mean they have to get rid of it? Unless it was just the type to just play tricks on people and didn't do anything to harm people. Or maybe he, or she, would do things like that. She turned and faced Hanya. "So what are we going to do now? Do we Continue on or is it a matter where we have to hunt this guy down?" Hunt him or her down and what...Kill him? No that was a terrible idea. Mentally Luna shook her head. She needed to get herself back to normal again. All this killing and deathing was messing with her mind. Regardless, she looked to her guide and waited for him to explain what was going on next. |

Nihil looked back to Luna and grinned behind the mask. She sort of cute with the way she handled things. Cautious yet certain. “So you have no qualms in hunting the little guy? What if it’s just a babe? What if it’s just playing around because it doesn’t like the noise of the festival? Would you still hunt it down?” he really ought to stop playing the demon and be more sensible but he was also filling in the shoes very well. He would even go to the lengths of provoking her. As for Nihil, he had heard about the fox family. They are quite the troublemakers so the annual festival was supposed to give honor to them and to settle their restlessness. They were vain that way, but perhaps it was because they viewed themselves as gods and therefore must be adored. No questions asked. And the stories from the villagers were stuck in his head and he knew he couldn’t ignore the possibility that this was just a bunch of the smaller foxes having fun. Still, there were also those stories of attacks. If the foxes do get aggressive, and in turn confuse the prey to the point of the prey having to resort to some form of retaliation, then the foxes would see that the game had turned into something disrespectful. In that sense, the foxes could be thought of as pricks. The type who only want to be the trickster and would feel insulted the moment the game is turned against them. “Well, in that case, Lady Luna. If you wish for a fox hunt, we shall have a fox hunt!” he declared and raised his right hand were magical light first gathered before the appearance of a rather large switchblade, Rektikano. “It has always been a curiosity of mine. How deities fare in battle.” |

Hunting it. They were hunting a fox that had gotten theme at in the forest. Well wasn't that interesting? But...what if it was just a baby fox who was only playing a harmless trick on them? Would Luna actually be able to kill it? But what if it was doing this because he, or she, was an evil spirit like the one back on the island she and Adrian were on? What if it planned to hurt everyone here at the festival? Well she couldn't let that happen. So she followed this demon and spoke to him. "Hey...if this fox isn't planning on hurting people, I don't think I can let you kill it. I'm not an expert on demons or anything...but of it's friendly, it can't die. Alright?" That was something Luna believed in very strongly about. Lately she was at a point in her life where the fairy tales were ending and reality was setting in. Not everyone was good; but not everyone is evil either. If she could stop people from killing people, she would. But if the only way to stop someone from killing people was to kill someone...then she was going to have to do it. She shook her head and crossed he arms over her chest and looke to this demon. He had summoned some kind of blade. It took her a moment to remember that demons, even Hayna here, could do just about anything. An if he was gettin ready to go fox hunting, she was going to get ready to go fox hunting too. So reaching into her pocket, Luna pulled out Saint's Flame. It looked nothing more than just a key chain scythe. But that was far from the truth. Quickly she tapped into the first effect and the key chain turned Into a true scythe ready for battle. Turning back to Hayna, she nodded. "Alright. I'm ready to get going. How do we hunt a fox spirit demon thing mister demon?" |

“Well, we will know once we meet the trickster,” Nihil replied a little uncomfortable now that he actually brought the topic of killing the fox spirit into the fore. He may be a fanatic of the supernatural, but he wasn’t a born hunter for it. “And as you said it, he may end up being just a little fox who needs a bit of scolding. Or he could just be lost. They often do in their mischief. Hehehe.” Then he cleared his throat with a fake cough as he continued to lead her down the path. “In any case, let us try this fox hunt!” Threading deeper into the forest, where the light was now scarce, the shadows in the trees seemed like they were playing games with them. Indeed, there was some sort of illusion afoot. Nihil could tell by the ringing of his vambrace, a soft vibration that told him Rektikano can be used to free them of this mess. And yet he did not give in. Instead, he thought of it a better adventure for the lady and him to explore just what this fox spirit had to offer. Arriving at a clearing of some sort, Nihil let Luna stay behind as he walked forward to the center of the clearing and made a polite bow to no one in particular. And then he spoke, “Oh, Inari, show yourself to us. We have noticed your presence and would like to ask what it is you require of us. Surely, it cannot be so impossible that you’d rather have us trapped here forever. Surely, you would tire of us eventually, let alone you’re missing your festival. Come on, little one, show yourself.” |
