Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

It was a weekend afternoon - and Oami, or rather, Monkey, was bored.

For the last few days, he had been doing nothing but hanging around in his room, graciously given by Raven Tail, and he ate and drank whenever he pleased, watching television shows, snacking on packaged ramen, or simply lazing about. Thus far, it was eventless, and on top of that, he wasn't actually getting paid. As it turned out, even though food and board were guaranteed, staying poor - who knew? - sucked.

So, the masked man decided to take a stroll out and about the city, while it was still day and things were still relatively safe. For all of its flaws, Trillium was a great place to stroll about. It had the big-city charm, the flashing lights and fancy cars, wealthy people, well-dressed, walking about with their designer clothes and designer bags and designer pets, along with maybe a few members of their personal security forces. This was Trillium, where "red light" was limited to no single district, after all.

With a bit of money in his pockets, a sword by his side, and the most terrible name of Raven Tail to call upon, Monkey considered himself fairly well-armed, at least, enough to not die if he took a walk. Taking a step out of the storefront of a casino, the masked man went out on the streets. The day was cloudy, the wind a light breeze - a fairly peaceful day, though in Trillium only the weather could ever be truly peaceful.

Moving like a tourist, Monkey considered what to do next.

Unaccustomed to the way humans seemed to mass together, it was no surprise that Zeph found himself lost within the mass of buildings and people that was known as Trillium. This was his second time within any kind of city, as he tried to limit himself to the open plains of the country-side of small villages, but it was his first time in one that was completely populated with living people. This in comparison to demons and the dead.

Thanks to the clouded weather, Zeph, strangely enough to most people, was able to walk about freely without the urge to hide beneath his black parasol, which he held by his side in his left hand, closed up tight. It was not often during the day that he felt such a relief from the cursed presence of the light orb in the sky that humans referred to as the sun. It was a pleasure that he thoroughly enjoyed, as it was one of the few he had. However, even this was diminished by the confusion trying to navigate the city was causing him.

At one point, Zeph stepped off to the side of the busy street, into a small alleyway. Luckily, unlike most cliche situations, he did not run into a gang of hoodlums. Turning at the mouth, he looked out at the crowd with his burnt orange eyes. They slowly widened with surprised as a man in black walked pass, stepping back into the crowd, Zeph immediately began to follow him.
No! This cannot be possible, not here of all places!

All demons of Incendia had a doppelganger that resided within Earthland. For Zeph, he now inhabited the body of his human equivalent, but he never gave a thought about the other demons he had resided with. The man he now followed, unknown to him, known as the Monkey, was the spiting image of a demon he had known on the battlefield well. Dai Maō Ruijin'en, The Great Demon Ape!

It took half a city block before Monkey began to feel like something was off. Maybe it was the weather. Maybe it was the litter on the floor. Maybe it was the fact that he was walking by all of the big stores with the reflective windows, or maybe even the fact that they were offering holiday sales when everyone knew damn well that the holidays weren't going to be here for, at minimum, another month.

Either way, once he got the chance, the masked man quickly turned a corner and left the big streets, choosing to intead walk down the smaller, darker, and usually more dangerous alleyways. Here, there was enough space for two, maybe three men to walk shoulder-to-shoulder, but with the amount of trash bins and garbage piles and the occasional fort of cardboard boxes - their occupants likely out for the day - it would be difficult for even two people to walk shoulder to shoulder. Thankfully, Monkey had walked these alleys before; he was somewhat familiar with their paths by now.

Or maybe it was just the fact that this was his standard route to the convenience store, who knows?

Walking down the alleys at a leisurely pace, Monkey even took the effort to whistle as he traversed down the dirty and, to be quite honest, somewhat disgusting hidden streets of the city. Thankfully, there was no one else here - no gangs, no criminals running, no one trying to chase a running criminal, no hastily-disposed bodies of people who got on the bad side of other people. At least, not right now.

Back to walking.

Stalking was not exactly something that Zeph was good at, but the crowd and sound of their constant movement created great cover, although he was not all too focused on remaining concealed. His goal was a simple one; get to that man and question him to discover his identity. Was it possible that he was a fellow demon from his world that had been pulled over? Or was he just another human that roamed this world. Regardless of the answer, Zeph needed to know if he was alone or if there was a possibility that there were others.

Following Monkey around the turn, into the side-street, Zeph saw his opportunity. Though usually quiet and reserve, he decided that this was a good moment to break from his normal stride. "Monkey!" He shouted out to the man, stopping in his tracks. If he was lucky, this man held the same mannerisms that the Demon Ape had, and if so, would respond to the same sets of names. For once, Zeph hoped, and his hope was the luck was on his side.

It was strange to feel such human emotions. Before now, Zeph had never given any real thought to his lone position amongst the humans of Earthland. Though he looked as they did, he could not blend in with them. The way he spoke and move was just different from them. He did not understand how they thought, or even have the vagues idea on what it meant to have humanity. However, this moment, to him, was crucial. Perhaps, even if it was the Demon Ape, he would be able to provide some level of guidance.

Okay, now Monkey knew something was wrong. No one simply yells out animal names in Trillium, and while it was literally just him, this one masked man, in an alley. Too much coincidence - and Monkey didn't believe in fate.

So, with a hand on the handle of his sword, the masked man turned around. "Excuse me?" He asked, with a voice oozing both offense and distaste at the strange fellow's comment. It let him see who was talking, or rather, the only other person in the alley - one man, decent height, strange hair, funny eyes. Was this man armed? Not that Monkey could tell, nothing at first glance.

He took a deep breath - a performer was he, and now was a perfect time for yet another performance. The masked man drew his sword, and pointed it at the other man. "How dare you. Did you just call me a monkey? What, you think someone wearing a mask like this is just an ape? Excuse me, rude. What do you think you're doing, running around in Trillium calling people names? You want to make enemies, huh, is that it? You think you're some kinda bigshot, calling people out? Young man, you have no idea who you are talking to, here. Why, I oughtta-"

Ranting was one of those things that Monkey had gotten better at doing these days. Maybe it was the atmosphere of the city; maybe it was the dissatisfaction in his life right now, that bottled-up boredom; maybe he was just mad. Regardless of reason, he knew how to put on a good play - and it was to act like an angry man, so be it.

It did work, the man's attention was caught, and though he could not see his face, Zeph was now sure that this was the Dai's Earthland counter-part. He simply stared at the man, barely listening to his unnecessary ranting. It was not that phasing to him, as he did not care if he had angered the man, he only cared if he was simply the counter-part, or if his demon equivalent resided within his physical form. Getting the feeling that this man was quite the talker and was unlikely to take an actually breath, Zeph decided to cut directly to the chase and get it over with.

"Dai Maō Ruijin'en, The Great Demon Ape. He was one of the most power demons that was created by Lord Zeref on Incendia. We met many times in battle. This demon was most commonly referred to as the Monkey," Zeph said clearly, with his usual monotone, "You're mask and posture are identical to him. I did not mean to anger you."

Pausing for a moment, he bowed his red head to the man before him in greeting and spoke once more, "I am Zeph Erez. I still do not completely understand the human art of conversation and was unsure of how to approach you without attacking you outright, but I had to know if you were Dai." Despite bowing his head, his burnt orange eyes never left Monkey's mask. He did not wish to fight this man, but he was ready to act if he saw the slightest hostile movement.

What?

Monkey had seen his fair share of crazy people before - he was living in Trillium, the city of crime and crazy, and before that he was working in, of all places, a circus - and he thought he'd seen it all. People mumbling to themselves, people who screamed and clawed at the air and at themselves, people who thought they were animals, people who thought they were gods, people who would try to mug him for money, people who would try to mug him for half a bar of chocolate - but this was definitely new.

Oh god, what was he getting himself in? The masked man sheathed his sword, scratching his head as he tried to figure out what he was going to do next. "Alright, well...first of all, I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that first part, and we'll worry about whether the nice men with the comfy yellow jacket will come give you a visit later." There were always better way to say 'crazy' than outright. Still, looking him up and down, Monkey noticed that the man looked physically suitable, and, excluding the eccentricity, seemed to be of decent mind - that meant he was recruitable.

It was time to shift gears. "Well, Zeph, was it? Or do you have another name to go by?" Monkey asked, waving - normally, he'd extend a hand, but he had a feeling that offering it to be shaken right now might be dangerous. "Tell you what then, let's us uh, take a walk together for a bit. Y'know, help you understand that whole art of human conversation thing. Just a walk. No attacking each other or anything. Sound good?" And maybe help the man get a foot into the door of Raven Tail - but it wasn't time to say that aloud yet.

By his response, it was obvious that this man was not, in fact, Dai. It had been a long shot, but Zeph could not help, but feel a little disappointed by the fact that he was not one of his kin. Although, unfortunate, it seemed that his attempt to approach him would seem to have been a good idea none-the-less. The man did appear to be uncertain of Zeph, but this did not stop him from sheathing his sword, which allowed Zeph to relax slightly, and, metaphorically, reach out a helping hand to him.

""People do seem fond of calling me by Zeph, and no other name has been given to me," This seemed like an appropriate response, as he did not name himself and was addressed by few. ""I have no reason to refuse you in your request to travel together and such guidance may be useful in the future encounters," His tone could possibly make him come across as bored, or even possibly as though he had better things to do. These were interpretations that did not come to mind when he spoke though, as he still did not fully understand how much impact a tone could have.

Stepping forward, Zeph hope his movement would indicate that he was ready to follow Monkey's lead, as he had no idea were he wanted to walk to or how to get there, not understand that 'taking a walk' didn't necessarily mean that there was a per-planned destination. "What should I refer to you as?" Such a thing was important to humans... Right? After all, why else would they have names unless they were worried about not being properly addressed. He often wondered why his father had given him the name Zephyrius. Did it have a significant meaning behind it, or was it just random? Regardless, it was unimportant at the present time.

Think fast, think fast!

"Well, since you've already called me Monkey, we might as well just stick with that one for now." Monkey replied with such a tone of certainty, that it hid all the panic that had come up in that moment of name-requesting. Since Zeph had offered, Monkey took the lead, treading on at a leisurely pace down the alleys. The high walls of the buildings blocked a decent portion of the light, but at least it was still daytime - in a way, the city's hidden streets could even be seen as romantic. Well, romantic if one was a lover of urban life and didn't mind the trash and graffiti all over the place.

Down the alley, right turn, continue through, turn left - Monkey talked the entire time. "So, Zeph. What do you do these days? Are you a merchant? A waiter or something? Second-generation heir?" He took a quick glance up and down the fellow. "Maybe not. Perhaps something less scrupulous? Do you just take what you need? Fast mouth, faster hands? Ever killed a man?" Odd questions, but hey, they were in a crime-ridden city; nothing was too odd.

Down the alley, there were two men. Monkey noted, with displeasure, that they were in the way - one larger, younger fellow hulking over a shorter and more crumpled-looking man. Judging by their clothes, neither were rich - the young one was in a simple tank top, jeans, and worn sneakers. Had tattoos all over his arms, too. The older one had glasses - now shattered - and his brown suit was, well, in bad condition. Frayed and all. There was a bit of yelling from the site of the younger man, who was grabbing the older one by the shoulders.

"Oh, this is inconvenient - what you say we do? They're in the way."

It seemed that Zeph's first assumption of Monkey had been correct, he really was just a non-stop mouth. He had never encounter a person like this before, so it was a new experience, human-wise. He just rattled of question after question, giving no room for Zeph to actually give an answer to any of them. For a moment, he wasn't even sure if he was suppose to answer anything that Monkey said, simply because of the speed he spoke at. It wasn't that he couldn't keep up, he just didn't understand how he could speak so much without taking a breath.

There! A moment had arrived that Zeph could actually interject and give a few answers so that Monkey could at least know what it was he was asking, even if he didn't realyl care for the answer. "I simply travel from place to place, learning what I can of this world. I slept for eleven years, and there is much I still do not know. Speed is something I rely on, though I do not usually converse unless prompted to by another. As for taking another's life, in my life before this one, I killed more than I can count. It was why I was created, to end life for a greater good," His monotoned voice, and his half opened eyes remaining forward, it was unnatural for a person to say such things with no reaction to the words. These were facts, and Zeph, well no matter his current corporeal form, he was not human.

Their walk suddenly came to an end, and it did not take very long for Zeph to see why. Before them was a pair of men, a large one and a smaller one, barring their path with their mere presence. It would seem that the larger one was being hostile towards the small man. The reason for this was unknown to them, but Monkey did put forward an interesting question, what should they do about their blocked path. "I will remove them."

Stepping forward, Zeph placed his right hand on the handle of his parasol. Giving it a quick twist there was a slight click as it unlocked, and he began to pull his split-blade sword free from its hidden sheath. "Brute-ish man! Remove your hand from the smaller one and leave the area. If you do not comply I will take your hands from you," Zeph stated loud enough to ensure that his voice was heard over the large man's voice. "I give you power over your life, choose carefully."
