I have an unusual issue to deal with - Blitz's magic is getting to the point where I can't get any more 'types' of techniques, 'types' being actual variations on what they do, like flight, healing, shielding, explosions, etc. Then it was suggested to me that I try out Ex-quip, as the magic is a bit more flexible, and would give me discounts on items, which could hold the techniques that my magic can't, and I already have a bunch of items already. Basically, I could get just about any tech I wanted on Blitz via Ex-quip/item, but I'd have to lose the machines to do it, which is a fairly big part who he is now. Any suggestions? Stay the course.

You're still going to be limited by a certain amount of "types" of techniques that you can obtain. Almost every single magic is limited by this. Switching to something like Tier 1 Ex-Quip won't really change that. You're still bound by similar limitations. You got one of everything? Cool. Now, you have an opportunity to build on that instead of throwing your magic away. |

Hey, that works. Trust me, wasn't going to 'throw it away', but had been suggested to me that I could get more options through a switch-over. If that's not the case, then this thread can be deleted, as I now know all I need to. |

...Except, you're kinda wrong. Exquip arguably facilitates the most 'types' of magic because it makes items more available to you, and you aren't bound to any set number of 'types' of techs you can put on your items. Your own spells will still have a set range of versatility, yes, but your items can be most anything.. and they're so deliciously cheap T~T |

Perhaps, but I did give it alot of thought last night, and being a melee-orientated metal fighter with fists is kinda a part of who he is now. It wouldn't feel the same to have him be unable to transform into machines and have to swing weapons around. I do like the discount, but as Tenn said, I wouldn't get the Rank freebies and I'm currently almost broke. |

Totes fine if you wanna keep your current magic -- it's def the easiest option Edit: Jack confirmed that he never meant to imply you couldn't get the item freebies exquip allows; you can. Edited by Otaku, Aug 21 2014, 09:56 PM.

Makes it slightly better, then, but I view Blitz as the fist-fighter type when it comes to most weapons - him not being machine based would be a bit weird. Maybe if there was a way to keep it machine-based in terms of techs?
