Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

"Welcome, welcome my friends!" Artorius could hear the muffled voice of Wayne Cathaway through the glass panes of the manor's sunroof. In the interior of the manor below, a group of men were shuffling into the building. Among them stood a large man holding a thick metal briefcase. Though, as each of them passed the threshold, they were frisked, presumably for weapons. Considering that this was a major deal with a lot of money on the line it was hardly surprising. After they were frisked and searched, they were allowed entry one by one, until they all filed into the living room of the manor. Luckily, Artorius could still see from his vantage point.

"Do you have the money, Cathaway?" the man with the briefcase spoke as he tightened his grip on its handle. The men who accompanied him were fidgety, careful in case anything unexpected happened. On the other hand, Cathaway seemed relatively calm. Unsurprising given the fact that he had been in this business for many years. Old criminals are a rarity, especially these days when Artorius was giving most of them heart attacks.

"Of course I have the money. But, relax boys. All in good time. But first, how about a nice cup of tea?"

"No tea. We're just here for the exchange. Nothing more. Stop wasting our time."

"Very well then. Pardon me for trying to be a good host," Cathaway punctuated his speech with a brief sigh. With a snap of his fingers, one of Cathaway's men approached with a briefcase of his own. Both cases were placed on the living room table and were opened simultaneously. At least a million jewels filled that metal case. On the other hand, the size and luster of that gemstone was absolutely spectacular and brilliant.

The trade seemed relatively ordinary for the moment. But, the situation suddenly took a drastic turn as a stout, porky-looking man in nothing but knickers and rope around his hands and feet leaped towards the top of the stairs, slipping, and then subsequently rolling down each and every step of the stairs. It was horrendously comical to the point where Artorius had to stifle a laugh. Perhaps he would have if not for the sudden realization that the man was Wayne Cathaway. So, how was the one handling the exchange?

"Stop the exchange. That one is a thief! An imposter!"

"Sorry boys..." the "imposter" spoke, voice suddenly changing to a much more feminine tone. Then, grabbing at a piece of clothing, she tossed her costume aside, revealing a toned, curvacious woman in a rather revealing outfit of black leather. "But, I'll be taking my leave now. Thanks for the fun. Oh, and the loot too~!" She grinned before suddenly tossing a gray sphere hard on the ground. In an instant, it burst into a huge blast of light, blinding all who managed to see it. Even Artorius was momentarily blinded.

Suddenly, she disappeared from her sight, as if teleporting out of there. Instantly, she reappeared on the glass panes of the sunroof, just in front of Artorius. "Huh, never thought the vigilante would be here. Looks like the rumors are true. You are pretty handsome. Shame we have to meet like this," she grinned, before suddenly disappearing from sight. She reappeared in a blink, teleporting quickly in a short range from spot to spot, fleeing from the scene of the crime.

Meanwhile, Artorius suddenly found himself in the middle of a hail of gunfire as the henchmen below sprayed and prayed. The gunfire was admittedly hellish and obviously dangerous, but Artorius was still in shock over the identity of the individual the dossier listed as 'The Scandal.' "Too bad we've already met before..." he murmured to himself. This woman went by the name of Kylee Sheng. And they had quite a history, these two.

The dossier called her 'The Scandal' and there wasn't much information that was on her within its contents. But, Artorius knew her personally, and it was for this reason that Artorius held a serious, 'Are you freaking kidding me?' expression plastered across his face. Even Ethan, who wasn't even technically there and was only available to communicate telepathically, could sense the distress and confusion wracking Artorius' mind.

"Someone you know?"
Ethan spoke, though the sound of his voice was muted by the sound of gunfire as the henchmen managed to sprawl onto the rooftop of the manor. Luckily, Artorius was able to avoid any serious damage. He was fast, after all, and it's not like henchmen are particularly known for having good aim anyway. Though, Kylee was faster, and Artorius was having a difficult time keeping up. This wasn't the first time he's chased her around the block though.

"Yeah, you can say we have history together," Artorius replied as he pulled his head close over his head. He couldn't exactly let his face be seen by these bastards after all. Though, it was damn difficult since he had to zig and zag to avoid getting shot. Nevertheless, as he jumped over an air conditioning unit in pursuit of the woman (who admittedly looked damn fine from behind), Artorius suddenly felt nostalgic. It didn't feel like it was long since they were running from the police, or the mob, or the local gangs, or anyone really when they were kids. Artorius had grown up together with Kylee, knowing each other since either of them could both remember. They were equal parts friends and enemies, and on more than a few occasions were a bit something more than either of that, but that was in the past. But, if there was one thing for certain, it was that dealing with Kylee was troublesome because she, almost literally, was trouble herself.

"Come on, you slow bastard. I heard you were better than this!" Kylee called out to him from quite a ways ahead, clutching a briefcase in either hand.

Definitely trouble.

The chase continued with Kylee's magic giving her a substantial edge, but stamina definitely was never her strong suit. If Artorius could recall, she would always tire out before he did. Whether you take that as innuendo or not, Artorius was nonetheless persistent in catching up with her, and also recruiting her. She was certainly skilled, and he needed those skills of hers to get this job done if it meant getting more information on Serana out of ARGENT. Yet, this wasn't easy given the fact that there were bullets whizzing past his head, a fact made even more annoying given that these bullets had Kylee's name on them, not his.

Speeding ahead, Artorius channeled his smoke magic into the soles of his feet. Magic suddenly burst out, propelling him forward in a quick burst of speed. Quickly, Artorius managed to catch up with her. This prompted the woman to suddenly turn on her heel, tossing a swift kick aimed at his face for his efforts. "I think you should back up a bit," she sneered before leaping away from him. But, at this point there was hardly anywhere for them to go.

"I think you're surrounded, Alley Cat..." Ethan spoke with a sigh as henchmen filed around Artorius and Kylee.

"You think...?" Artorius groaned as he eyed the countless suits with guns that circled around them, both on the roof and also on the ground below.

"Geez, this is what I get for wasting my time with you,"
Kylee groaned as she looked around her before glaring back at Artorius. Though, as she looked at him her eyes suddenly narrowed in a squint before slowly approaching him. "Wait a minute, is that you Art-!"

"Now is REALLY not the time or place!"
Artorius interrupted her as Kylee very nearly blurted out his name and identity. Of course, that certainly wouldn't be a good thing by any means. Besides that, their reunion could wait. They needed to get the hell out of here. Although, it didn't look like they were getting out of here without a fight. What a pain.

Surrounded on all sides by henchmen with firearms and weapons of all sorts, it was painfully clear that they weren't getting out of this without a fight. Artorius was by no means too happy about this, nor was Kylee. He could tell that Kylee was a bit drained from the chase, and the fact that she had to lug around those heavy briefcases definitely didn't help either. Admittedly, Artorius was a bit fatigued himself from all the running, and the hurried and frantic trek to the Eastcrest Estates wasn't exactly an easy stroll in the park either.

"We'll make an opening and then we'll run for it,"
Artorius boldly declared as he carefully eyed his surroundings. There was at least two dozen men here. Though, naturally he was used to losing the numbers advantage.

"And what makes you think that's a good idea...?" Kylee rolled her eyes at him as she drew the short knife strapped to her left thigh.

"Because it's exactly what you would do. And because you trust me," he spoke to her, momentarily turning his head towards her. For a brief moment, the woman would get a clear view of the man beneath the hood. Her expression painted a vivid image of what she was thinking. She hardly expected this man to be the vigilante that watched over Dandelion Sector, but at the same time it seemed that it made perfect sense to her too. Nevertheless, she knew he was right, and she did trust him even if they always had a rather tumultuous relationship.

"Fine. Have it your way. Just don't expect a piece of the cut!"
The woman sneered before suddenly disappearing from her location, reappearing just beside one of the gunman. With a hard kick to the groin, and then a second to the face as he lowered his head, she easily incapacitated one but not without drawing the attention of the rest of the pack. Covering her, Artorius breathed out a huge volume of smoke, surrounding the nearby area with a dark cloud that reduced them to a choking, suffocating mob, leaving Kylee and himself free to move and breathe uninhibited, thereby giving them an opportunity to escape.

"This way!" Artorius called out to her, taking her by the wrist and leading her towards the sewers and, further beyond that even, the docks.

"You know, you didn't have to take me by the hand, you asshole," Kylee spoke as she pulled her arm away from him.

"Wouldn't be the first time, Kylee," Artorius shrugged as he lead the way forward. Navigating the docks, he quickly lead the way towards the safety of the ARGENT warehouse. As he opened the door using a passcode he had been given, he was momentarily blinded by the goddamned fluorescent lighting that was such a huge contrast with the outside environment. "Never going to get used to that..." he sighed as he moved forward through the long narrow corridors within.

"So, new place? I miss your old apartment."

"This isn't my place. This is my... Well, I guess you can call them my employer. For now."
Leading the way, they soon entered into a large chamber within the building. It was mostly empty save for a number of chairs and tables, though Ethan Attano stood at one end, patiently waiting for Artorius' return. Almost a bit too eagerly, strangely.

"Welcome back,"
Ethan spoke with a grin. "Looks like you managed to bring her along too. Good work, Artorius."

"Bring me along? What is this about, Artorius? Don't tell me you're dragging me along on your damned heroics..." The woman spoke in annoyance, eyes rolling as she placed the briefcases beside one another on a nearby table, arms crossed under her chest. She shifted her weight as she looked at him, waiting for an answer.

"Regrettably, you're right. But, truth be told, I'm not the one who wanted to hire you. She is." With a cock of his head, Artorius gestured towards the woman that had just entered the room.

Mockingbird, a curious woman who frankly looked damn good in a business suit. The handler of this little squad, and a big wig of the whole ARGENT agency. She approached slowly, eying up the woman with a quick glance. "Ms. Sheng. It's a pleasure. I'd like to make you an offer."

"Nah, I don't need this. I'm just going to check my prize and get the hell on out of here," Kylee spoke with a shake of her head. Quickly turning on her heel and shifting her attention towards the briefcases, she opened the case of cash with bated breath. Her expression swiftly grew sour as she looked at it more closely. Taking one of the bills in her hand, she held it up against the light. Her expression couldn't have possibly been any more sour. Then, it actually became more sour. Opening the other case, she took the glimmering gem in her hand... only to find that it was just as fake, if not more than the money. "WHAT THE HELL?!" Kylee screamed in complete and utter annoyance and frustration. Momentarily, the woman flailed and raged, but seconds later she took a deep breath and turned back to Mockingbird who looked stunningly smug and arrogant. "Well, what is it then?"

"I want to hire you for a squad. It would appear that you need the money now more than ever,"
Mockingbird spoke with her arms crossed over her chest.

"Ugh, how much are you willing to pay then?"

Calmly, Mockingbird approached, retrieving a pen and paper. Scribbling onto it, she then passed it over towards Kylee. Money signs suddenly grew in place of her eyeballs. "Deal," she instantly replied. "Well, on one condition..."

She paraded herself as a complex woman. Yet, Artorius always knew her to have very simple desires. Somethings never change, but that's what makes her her. Artorius couldn't help but hold back a grin as the scene played before his eyes.

Kylee managed to settle into the ARGENT headquarters strangely well. However, for the most part Artorius tried to avoid contact with her knowing that she would start asking questions. Though, perhaps such was naive of him as it was basically inevitable after all. Kylee was always inquisitive by nature, and she had always enjoyed to push his buttons to the point of near annoyance. Eventually, the two encountered one another, though not necessarily by his own choice. A day later, in the very same hall Kylee had signed onto this motley crue of a squad, the three current and only members encountered one another.

"So, we both know why I'm doing this. Why are you two signed up for this whole ordeal? And what the hell are we actually even doing?" Kylee spoke with her arms crossed over her chest, feet kicked up on the table as she leaned back on her chair.

"Same reason as you -- I need the money,"
Ethan earnestly replied with a relaxed grin.

"Information," Artorius plainly replied. He tried to keep it as terse as possible in the slim hope that Kylee wouldn't pry. Of course, knowing her, she would. And, of course, she did.

"Information on....?" she curiously asked, fluttering her eyelashes in falsified innocence.

"What do you think?" Artorius coldly replied without looking back at her.

"Ah, I see. It makes perfect sense now that I think about it," Kylee spoke with a smug, satisfied grin. "You never change, do you?" she laughed before stretching her arms over her head. "So, your girlfriend know you're here?"

"Girlfriend?" Artorius turned back to glance at her, eyebrow cocked in slight bewilderment. Who, or what, in the hell did she mean by girlfriend?

"Y'know... the red-haired one. From the underwater tomb. The one that tooootally looks like-" she went on to explain before suddenly being cut off from finishing her sentence.

"Oh. Her? She's not my girlfriend," Artorius shook his head before breathing out a long sigh.

"Oh, so you're single now...?" The woman grinned winked at him, jokingly of course, at least for the most part anyway.

"No. Well, I guess technically yes..." Artorius regrettably spoke. This woman was such a pain to be around sometimes. Ever since they were kids, Kylee had a knack for messing with his head and twisting his words around to make him contradict himself. And it was quite obviously clear that she had fun pressing his buttons.

"Behave yourselves, you two. Don't we have work to do after all?"
Ethan spoke, seemingly a little annoyed by their back and forth.

"What's wrong, kiddo? You jealous or something,"
Kylee teased him, getting up out of her seat in a hurry to pinch his cheeks.

"No," he sternly replied.

Ugh, this woman was a pain.

After much trolling from the woman, the conversation suddenly steered towards something a bit more serious and a lot more productive. It was Artorius who cleared the awkwardness in the air, changing the subject to something much more relevant as a consequence. Or, perhaps that was the point all along. Either way, he turned towards the other two as spoke to them. "So, what exactly was that condition that you mentioned when you signed on to this ordeal?" Artorius asked with genuine curiosity. Knowing Kylee, it was hardly something so simple. If anything, it was most definitely trouble, mischief, and everything in between.

"Funny you mention that. I've told the kid everything. I'll let him spill the beans," Kylee replied, playfully sticking her tongue out.

"...She wants us to help perform a robbery," Ethan spoke with a sigh of utter displeasure and discontent.

"What? Seriously?" Artorius rolled his eyes at her.

"Well, yeah. I got duped. Both the money and the gem were fake. I'm still totally upset about that. I know you would, Artorius. And I know that something like this isn't very difficult for you to pull off, especially with the kid's brain helping us plan this out."

Truth be told, Artorius couldn't deny that Kylee was right. This was a strangely well-equipped team to pull off heists. Artorius was used to pulling heists like these on his own, which certainly did add an added element of difficulty to the mix. He couldn't necessarily plan and execute complicated plans all on his own, but as a group it wasn't anywhere near as difficult to pull things off. Still, Artorius wasn't exactly enthusiastic about doing something like this, especially not if it was in his own interests. If he had a cut, sure, but this whole thing was hardly about the money for him. Yet, ultimately it boiled down to one thing. If he wanted to get Kylee's cooperation here, then it would serve him well to offer a hand here. Among thieves, favors are a powerful thing. Helping her out here would obligate Kylee to do the same.

"Come on, Artorius, 'ol buddy, 'ol pal. What do you say? Just like old times?"
Kylee spoke, giving him her darn best puppy dog face, complete with teary eyes and fluttering eyelashes.

"Ugh, fine..."

"Alright, here's the plan!" Ethan cheerfully spoke as he began to apply his penmanship to the whiteboard situated at the front of the room. "The gemstone is being moved a warehouse at the far end of the dock. They're selling it to a different buyer. This was definitely not their first option, as the Whalers get a cut of the pay. But, in exchange, the Whalers Gang are also providing protection so it won't be as easy as it was last time.

Artorius, you will go to the front of the warehouse and gather as much attention as you possibly can..."

Artorius carefully examined the hired help surrounding the warehouse. The Whaler's Gang. They certainly weren't ordinary henchmen. While they were certainly a gang, they were much more akin to a criminal organization in size, scope, and modus operandi. Yet, more famously, they were hitmen known throughout Dandelion Sector for their skill in wet work. If you needed someone killed, typically you went to the Whalers Gang. Yet, their prices were never cheap, but you get what you pay for, and the Whalers are good at what they do. Nonetheless, they were something that Artorius had to deal with if they were to pull this heist off successfully. Frankly, he'd rather not have to start with open hostilities, but if its a distraction that his team needed then he was obligated to give them a damn good show.

Now, to get their attention. A throwing knife here and there to quickly incapacitate a few of the guards, and then a magical smoke-laden roar to be a big, loud nuisance and threat to capture their attention. Within moments, the majority of the hired hands were after him, swarming him with a flurry of blades and magic.

Getting their attention was simple. Surviving... Well, that was a different challenge.
