Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

As Adrian jumped and spun into combat with his rotation barrier rotating around him he wasn't surprised by the fact the guards were stronger but he was surprised by how much stronger. The majority of the guards got out of the way except for two and they only took very little damage as they were knocked back. What was most distressing was that as Adrian lunged towards the old man he found his head bashing against an invisible barrier of energy. Instead of trying to break through the barrier the Take-Over Mage attempted to go around it only to find that he was boxed in on all four sides. Repeated attempts to smash through the barriers failed and it was at that moment Adrian realised he was trapped and about to die painfully. Despair welled up in Adrian as he realised how doomed he really was but on the bright side Luu could probably use this as a chance to escape with Ozzy...right?

Or at least that would have happened were it not for Luu. In a surprising display of pure magical energy Luu jumped off Adrian's back and punched clean through the barriers. The old man was socked in the jaw and sent flying through the air crashing into a nearby wall. See while Adrian had wanted to handle all of the guards himself in order to keep Luu and his menagerie of pets safe it seemed he would indeed need the little girl's assistance in order to win. That was what Adrian had planned to do, work with Luu to defeat the guards, but apparently the little girl had other plans. It was at the moment Adrian was sent skidding back to the ladder and crashed next to Ozzy; an impressive feat considering the size and weight of his Carnotaurs form but one that was to be expected considering how powerful a mage Luu actually seemed to be.

Adrian turned back into his human form and clutched his head to try and convince his headache to subside but that desire was soon over written when Luu announced her plan. The little girl was going to nobly sacrifice herself for Adrian's sake? Screw that! Like hell he was going to let that happen any time soon! The Take-over mage tried to rejoin the fray but found himself blocked by a barrier designed to stop him from rejoining the fight. Another barrier was forming behind him and if he didn't hurry he'd find himself trapped her just like Luu. It was a difficult choice to make but Adrian grabbed Ozzy, placed her on his head and with the book tucked away inside his clothing he ran towards the ladder. Buzzles flew along side and went ahead as the Take-over mage climbed to safety. It was as Adrian ran that he decided on what to do next. Screw getting a family and some emotional companionship if it meant an innocent had to die. It was not worth it and never would be.

As Adrian ran out of the building he took his rage out on any guards that got in his way taking them down as he ran and ran and ran. It may have been cowardly to simply leave Luu to die like that but what could he do? It was as Adrian was thinking about how his own inability had forced Luu to sacrifice herself that tears began to form but he did not cry. No instead he got angry and considered doing something very strange. When Adrian returned to the queen dragon's cafe he slammed his hands down on the table looking straight into Astrea's eyes. "A little girl died in their so I could get out. I don't care that I opened the chest despite you telling me not to. I don't care that I failed nor do I care what I have to give up. You WILL bring Luu back."Anger and sadness were fighting for control as Adrian demanded Astrea bring Luu back. He didn't give a damn how powerful she was nor did he care for the possibility of what he'd have to give up to do it; he wanted to save Luu.

It was rare for Adrian to strongly show his emotions but this situation was so different to a normal one. Never before had anyone willingly given up their life for Adrian and so it was a difficult situation for him to handle. It might have been rapid, and that may seem like Adrian was faking it, but he had been flirting between anger and sadness rapidly. The moments when he saw the guards of the building was when his anger flared up and the moments between that was when the sadness sank in. However now that he was faced with Astrea the Take-Over Mage knew precisely what he should be doing and that was repairing the damage he'd caused. After all it was Adrian's desire for a family that resulted in him meeting Astrea in the first place and from that he'd ended up doing everything else which ultimately lead to know. Adrian knew he could threaten Astrea but his logical thought process told him that bargaining was a better way to do it hence why he still had the book on his person.

Astrea was relatively unimpressed by Adrian's blustering as he came in, instead she simply calmly sipped her tea, looking into his eyes entirely without care or emotion. Instead she simply looked him over once, slowly, her eyes lingering and moving over him from head to toe, taking it all in. Slowly she returned her tea to its saucer and then smiled ever-so-slightly, gesturing to the chair opposite her for Adrian to have a seat. She would not react otherwise until he did, would not speak or move or even attempt to dodge if he tried to attack her.

If he did try to attack her however he would be sent flying into the far wall, slammed into it harder than he had ever been hit into anything in his life only for it to be over in a heartbeat, his position standing before her an instant later. Of course that was only if he attacked.
If he chose to sit Astrea would smile a little wider and incline her head in thanks, a second cup of tea appearing before the young man as she did so.
"She is not dead." she would say simply, lifting her tea to her lips for another long sip before sighing contentedly and continuing after he was done with his further bluster.

"Thank you for bringing my book," she said afterwards, almost as though she truly wasn't fussed at all and even though Adrian had been keeping it on his person he would notice suddenly it was on the table in front of the queen, her eyes lingering on it and she touched the cover ever-so-softly, almost a caress, "It has been a very very long time since I have seen this... a very long time indeed."
Looking up then she smiled as she realised she was taunting him a little.

"Oh yes, the girl. Luu is alive and well, though you wont be able to see her again. She is busy now, and likely will be for some time. I always like to hire those who help me out where necessary, and I thought someone of her particular talents would be quite useful."
And with that she fell silent, sipping her tea once more. She was half-pleased and half-displeased that Adrian had brought her the book and not the chest, but she would withhold herself until he spoke again.

It all depended on him.

Adrian wasn't...sure what he'd do right now. Sure anger at Luu's possible death had made him act more than a little bit extreme but now that he'd shouted at the queen dragon he was calm and thinking more..rationally. The Take Over Mage realised how much danger he had put himself in as Astrea could easily blink and erase him from existence or that was Adrian was assuming. One part of the Take-Over Mage was actually quite scared for his own well being and with good reason. He had just shouted at the one and only queen dragon and dragons were incredibly powerful beings which meant Astrea would be even more powerful than a normal dragon hence why shouting at her was probably a bad idea. Judging from Astrea's sighing and emotionless expression Adrian wondered if she was just tired with humans, didn't care that a young girl had died or if their was something she knew which Adrian didn't.

When the Queen Dragon announced that Luu had lived, somehow, Adrian froze and blinked a few times before sitting down. He felt like a right wally now having gotten all flustered and upset about an imagined death but could you blame him? He assumed that the guards would eventually overpower Luu and take revenge on her which made the news she was alive worse to bear. See if Luu was alive then that implied the guards of the company had caught her right? Well if they'd captured her what would they do to her? Torture was the first conclusion Adrian reached as he began to over think Luu's fate. Adrian ignored his tea for the time being purely because in this situation he didn't think drinking tea and being relaxed was really the right response. Due to Astrea telling Adrian that Luu was indeed alive he decided to remain quiet and not jump to a conclusion again. Instead the Take Over Mage paid close attention to what Astrea had to say.

Adrian felt like he'd been been taken for a ride when Astrea spoke again informing him that Luu was indeed alive and well having been hired by the Queen Dragon herself. See at first the Take Over Mage thought Luu had always worked for Astrea which implied maybe she'd only be acting in a role to deceive and dupe Adrian but after he thought it through he realised Astrea meant she hired Luu AFTER Adrian last saw her. "So she's alive! Oh thank god that's good..I was worried she had died on my behalf..Could..you say hello to her for me?..And thank her on my behalf? I might be asking too much considering who you are and who I am as well as our uhh..places in the world but it doesn't seem too much to ask right?..." Adrian allowed himself a small smile and took a sip from his cup of tea"I uhh..kind of looked through it..but I didn't understand anything! So it's no harm no foul right?.."

[[OOC: Since I have a new computer there will be no more gaps between posts of over 5 days. I beg your forgiveness for the enormous delay, I wont let it happen again to delay your characters hunt.]]

The Queen dragon quirked her eyebrow as the boy semi rambled on a bit in his relief at the girl's life not being taken away. Well, in a way it had been but it was in a way that very very few would ever understand. The girl was alive at the least, alive in the same way the boy was but not the same way Astrea was, but she was still a little worse for wear... Indeed it had been quite the scene when Astrea had stepped out of nothingness and into the ruined state of the moderately sized vault with the prone bloody and panting girl surrounded by bodies in various states of destruction.

"My my, such a good job." the Queen had mused to herself, the girl looking up in alarm at the new intruder who had entered so silently, struggling to her feet before settling into a weary fighting posture, one eye obviously stuck shut from a bloody cut to her head and the other slightly squinting. Astrea had simply smiled and approached the girl, vanishing when the first punch was thrown to appear behind her, placing a single hand on the girls back and freezing her in place.
"You're not used to people being faster than you are you?" she said, not unkindly, "How would you like an opportunity then to be free?"

In the present Astrea simply inclined her head, acknowledging his request in a way but nothing complete. At least his first request, when he mentioned the book again she put her hand down on the cover once more and stroked it slowly, almost lovingly, staring down at it with a small smile on her face. At least until he said he had opened it, and then her head snapped up, her expression completely gone, unreadable in its entirety.
"The book is not of your world," she said, her tone as indecipherable as her eyes and face, "But you opened it? My my, humanity surely must have lost its sense of self-preservation some thousands of years ago, for how could you not sense what this is?"

Tapping it once the book vanished, in its place appearing a small strangely glowing black stone, a gem so to speak, a faint purple mist emanating from its face and seeming to somehow draw in the light around it, the sunlight itself. The café seemed to somehow go darker as it lay there until the woman tapped it again, the gem turning once more into a book.
"What it is, is a weapon," she said simply, "Something your kind has tried to harness before and has failed. They tried with this in my time and it had horrible consequences, so I thought it best if none living now besides a very very select few knew it was gone forever."

With that she continued her stroking of it, staring at Adrian. Surely he had something more he wanted to know, something to ask?
After all there was a promise of a reward... no?

Okay so apparently the book was some kind of weapon and it was really dangerous. What struck Adrian as odd was how he was expected to know it was a weapon? Yes he did assume it had some kind of magic about it but he didn't know what kind of magic and the unreadable language did not help. It turned out that opening the book was an incredibly dangerous, or maybe just foolish, thing to do or at least that was the impression Adrian got from the Queen Dragon. "Well no..I'm not exactly a powerful mage...plus I'm not you know.....the queen of all dragons." Adrian was acting under the impression that dragons had a stronger connection to the natural magical energies than humans so she was probably detecting magic that he was not.

When the book was changed into a gem Ozzy jumped off Adrian's head to sniff at it before jumping back in surprise when it changed back into a book. Despite her being bright, for a bird, she was still a literal birdbrain and as such was easily surprised by sudden changes. She quickly calmed down though and simply stared at the book before turning her gaze to Astrea staring intensely at the queen dragon. Apparently the human race had tried to harness the book as a weapon back when the dragons were more numerous but it failed and resulted in some rather bad consequences. Adrian decided not to ask as he felt it was probably a rather sensat ive subject. "If this weapon is so...dangerous maybe destroying it is a good idea?" If the weapon was destroyed then it wouldn't matter if anyone knew where or what it is. A destroyed weapon could not be wielded after all.

It seemed like everything was pretty much wrapped up but Adrian had a few questions he wanted to ask. For starters he wanted his rewarded but he also wanted to ask a few questions. "So umm..can I ask a few things? For starters, and I don't mean to sound disrespectful considering our respective positions, but can I have my reward? In addition to asking two questions?" If Astrea said yes Adrian could ask his questions and have his reward then the Take Over Mage would indulge his curiosity as well as a worry he had. "Well..if you're the queen dragon...does that meant there is a king? And that company I stole from..do you think they'll follow after me?" Adrian simply wanted to know if there was a king dragon but not anything beyond that. It was a simple question after all and hopefully Astrea would not try to screw him over but she didn't seem the type so that was unlikely.

Ah the impertinence of youth, always such an amusing thing for Astrea to witness and she had to suppress a smile from bubbling across her face as Adrian -in his very awkward and slightly-stuttering way- asked about the "reward" he had come here for. After all he had done her task, albeit with some addendums and not as efficiently as it could have been, so he was deserved that which he was promised no? Of course he was, Astrea was a firm believer in giving people what they had worked hard to do, but that didn't mean she wasn't a shrewd negotiator when it came down to it.

"Ah but excuse me Mister Snooks," she said with a small smile, very small but definitely there, "Was your reward not to be for me to give a greater life purpose and power to your bird? Was it not your wish that your small and adorable Ozzy become a more powerful partner for you, one who can fully and properly understand your adventures and become a true companion? And now here you are asking me questions about other things! I must confess myself shocked! Do you wish to change what it is you are to receive for completing my errand?"

She feigned shock with a shake of her head, tapping her fingers on the cover of the book multiple times as though to emphasise her points. Here it was, to see what he really wanted to know in the end of it all and how much he would compromise of what he wanted to have instead.
"So do you care more about knowledge you cannot use or for the bird you carry by your heart? Or would you like to hit the middle? Knowledge and a change, but a lesser one - one without speech for example."

Adrian sat quietly and patiently half-tempted to flag down a member of the waiting staff so he could order something but considering Astrea was talking it would probably be rather rude. It was always rude to interrupt someone while they were talking made worse by the fact Astrea was A. A dragon B. A queen and C. Could probably mutilate Adrian without even breaking a sweat. Adrian had to admit that it felt like Astrea was simply mocking him at this point as she feigned surprise and even had a small smile on her face but despite that he was going to at least be serious in his answer. "Well..hmmm.." It was a difficult choice to make especially considering all three options would give Adrian something he craved.

Ultimately he decided to simply go along with his original plan and get what he originally planned for. Sure he could have gone for the compromise but that would have probably just been a crippled or other wise a weakened lesser version of it. On the other hand Adrian could have just gone for the knowledge regarding the king dragon however that harbored a few risks. The first of which was that perhaps some forms of knowledge were better left unknown and considering the bloody history dragons apparently had with Fiore, an assumption made upon Adrian's brief interactions with Astrea, their was always a risk Adrian may end up putting himself at risk. Ultimately his answer came down to which would make him happier? And honestly a decent family that didn't treat him like an unwanted scourge would have made him much more happy.

"I have decided."The Take Over Mage gently put Ozzy down on the middle of the table and she chirped cutely staring up at the Queen of all Dragons. It was unknown if Ozzy knew who exactly Astrea was or not, she was rather smart after all, but did it really matter? Probably not. Just in case the gesture of present Ozzy to Astrea was not an obvious enough clue the Take-Over Mage decided to simply verbally announce it."I...will simply pick what I asked for initially." Honestly it was a little bit embarrassing for Adrian to actually admit that. People often felt embarrassed or insecure when they were put on the spot and asked to reveal the things they felt that they wanted above all else or at least that was true for Adrian. He rubbed the back of his neck nervously finding himself concerned and intrigued as to what exactly would be happening now.

Astrea simply smiled as she watched Adrian's mind, watching him take his time to consider his options and then finally making his choice. She was tempted to screw with him a little more, to make him doubt his choice again but there was already a clear streak of that inside the boy that she could see so she decided against it - she would leave his psyche further untouched for the day.
"Your decision has been made then," she said simply, smiling and extending her hand to the small bird, her eyes now locked onto Ozzy herself on the table, "Let you not regret that which will come for the future."

When she opened her match next she did not speak but she chirped softly, the same kind of chirp as Ozzy made and the bird looked startled that this woman was speaking her language but began to reply rapidly in kind. They spoke quickly and rapidly in the bird's language, Astrea's eyes moving from concerned to kind to amused and finally settling on agreeing as she nodded to what Ozzy was saying to her.
"Very good," she finally spoke, looking up at Adrian and smiling slightly, the bird stepping into her open and upturned palms as she looked at Ozzy's owner evenly, "We have made our deal, if you will excuse me."

Standing, Ozzy on her palms completely still as she walked outside evenly, Astrea stepped out the door then looked over her shoulder at Adrian, one eyebrow raised almost in an invitation. As she walked outside she held her hands out and a bright light began to glow from Ozzy. At first it was soft but it got brighter and brighter within moments, too bright for Adrian to look at directly after only 3 seconds, and it grew larger and larger too until Astrea no longer had her hands facing upwards but outwards instead. After a full minute the glow was joined by a choir of voices from somewhere unseen, a heavenly choir of beautiful music that was enough to bring a tear to the eye of anyone around, even if they didn't want to.

And yet, when the light died down, what remained was...
