Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Had you told Adrian years ago that he would have the chance to meet the one and only Queen Dragon, he wouldn't have believed you and probably brushed it off as foolishness but no, here he was in Trillium searching for the Queen Dragon. How did Adrian end up looking for this dragon? Well the same way anybody else had of course, he found the riddle associated with the Queen Dragon, or at least one of them. Since he had discovered this riddle all those months ago Adrian had been hard at work preparing for it, striving to solve it and getting supplies together for the trip. And now today was the day his efforts would be coming to fruition so yes, here was Adrian in Trillium. The journey to the city had been rather pleasant, except for the few days of rain and a close run in with wolves had on the way here, and yes the take over mage had walked it camping in the wild over night; sure it was possible that Adrian could have hired a horse and cart or taken some sort of train, but he preferred walking.

As Adrian walked through the streets looking for a place to stay for the nights, after all this search may take many days or weeks, the take over mage realised he had never actually been to the city before, and with good reason. Adrian had not heard good things about Trillium, home of the Raven Tail guild and filled with numerous casinos that sought to just bleed your pockets dry, luckily Adrian detested gambling and so would be avoiding said casinos. Thinking back to the information Adrian had been trying to scrounge up in regards to the queen dragon, the only solid information was that Astria had once awoken in Trillium and destroyed the city and it was a bit strange that Astria had chosen Trillium over other cities. On the subject of Trillium, as Adrian had found a decent place to stay for the night, he walked inside and reserved his room; fortunately the inn still had room. Anyway, with his room reserved Adrian decided that the next logical step for him would be to start the search but honestly... he didn't know where to start; sure he had traced Astria to Trillium but the city was a big place.

Checking in his bags and other clothing to the room he had rented out, Adrian was pretty glad that the room was of a decent quality, especially given how low the prices where compared to the rest of Trillium. Anyway, walking out of his hotel room Adrian locked the door and ventured out of the building, with an idea of where to start looking. Following the destruction of Trillium a lot of the city had been rebuilt from the ground up, changing the entire nature of the city and sadly a lot of the windmills had been destroyed all except for one. It was this one windmill that Adrian believed that he'd find a clue as to Astria's specific location inside of the city. Anyway, walking towards the windmill Adrian did his best to avoid the gaze of the other citizens, he had heard bad things about the nature of the people who lived here. It took the take over mage a good ten minutes to walk to the centre of the city, Ozzy sitting on his head asleep, his spear attached to his back for easy storage and of course the bug that came with the spear attached to his left shoulder. Looking up at the windmill Adrian felt more than a little morose regarding how it was the last one left, he had never seen Trillium in it's prior form but man...he wished he was able to see it. And speaking of wishes, he was perfectly aware of what he wanted to ask Astria, if he got the chance.

The soft footfalls behind the boy who stood now in the center of Trillium were not enough to alert him to the presence of someone nearby, nor was the fact that the person's very breathing was silent. It was a simple thing to sneak up on those who were unaware of the world, but it was an even more amusing one when it was something he had been assigned to do. The figure behind the boy was a fairly plain man; straight brown hair, brown eyes, a weathered face but not remarkably so dressed in plain black trousers and a scuffed but otherwise clean brown shirt. He was entirely unremarkable and that was what made him so good at what he did, he was able to sneak up on anyone as nobody remembered him or noticed him, nobody considered him and that was how he made his money.

It was a rare day to be paid so much for an actual job too - usually he made his way through pick-pocketing and the like but today he had been given money by a tall and remarkably beautiful lady to take a note and slip it into the back pocket of a specific man. The description had been fairly bad but it hadn't taken this mysterious and plain sneak-thief long to find his mark and trail him a ways. The woman had made it clear he must not be seen and so far he hadn't which was good. The boy was blinded by his own thoughts which suited the man perfectly, especially when he dropped the paper into the boy's pocket and vanished in a puff of... well, nothing. That was the beauty of his magic too - no muss or fuss.

Adrian would feel the sudden weight in his pocket, a letter now there that had not been before. There was nobody behind him who could have put it there but it was written with his name on the envelope in a long flowing hand, curved black letters on the finest of parchment and clearly meant for him. And what did it say?
Adrian,
Come seek me where many gather,
In a place of things for you to own,
I await you at the next strike of the clock,
Before a man with one eye.

While Adrian was walking towards the windmill in the city centre he was utterly unaware of the person following him, they were after all very good at masking their presence. Not even Ozzy noticed the approach of a person sneaking up behind Adrian, which was surprising as in nature birds are normally quite alert creatures, of course Ozzy might be an exception to that as she hadn't been raised in the wild. If the person sneaking up behind Adrian happened to be a pick pocket or some sort of theif then the takeover mage would probably end up in a spot of bother, due to the fact he could easily lose all of the money he brought with him today but luckily, this wasn't the case. Had Adrian actually known the person sneaking up behind him was A. A pickpocket (although at this point that's just an idea) and B. Was responsible for slipping a letter in side of his pocket, he'd probably be a little surprised; after all how often did pickpockets put things in their marks pockets? Not often that's for sure.

And speaking of things being slipped into his pocket, it was at this moment Adrian felt the increase of weight inside his back pocket, and as a result he turned around quickly to see who it belonged to, but there was nobody there. "Curious.... nobody behind me....oh well." Shrugging off the lack of a culprit for who put a letter inside his back pocket, Adrian reached into said pocket and removed what had been placed there. Looking over the envelope it was written in a fanciful hand, with curved letters. If Adrian was to describe this letter to someone he'd call it well..high class, but that really didn't matter in the grand scheme of things. Opening the envelope Adrian reached inside and drew out the letter, unfolding it to read if that was necessary. The contents of the letter where a bit well...confusing, they did technically had directions but they weren't the most direct ones at that, but that wouldn't be a problem as Adrian had been smart enough to work out the riddle, he could easily work out this one.

"The place where people gather filled with things to own..." Honestly, out of the contents of the entire letter it was only the second and third line that was giving Adrian trouble and honestly the take over mage had two guesses as to the location those lines refereed to. His first guess, and the more likely he felt, was one of the local casinos as it was technically full of things to own, referring to the money you could win, while the where people gather line was pretty obvious. Adrian's other but less likely guess would be some sort of store or something, but he didn't know of any well known stores in Trillium. Personally the take over mage had hoped to avoid the casinos as he wasn't really one for gambling, but he supposed this time there was little choice. The problem was that there was a lot of casinos in Trillium, and Adrian had to find and wait inside the correct one before the clock next strike of a clock, and if that alone wasn't a big enough issue Adrian would need to wait before a one eyed man.

"Time to go then..." Talking to himself Adrian wondered why the queen had to be so cryptic and indirect with her messages, which while annoying was also part of the challenge; did it really matter if cryptic instructions annoyed you so long as you followed them to the letter? Anyway, with little idea of where to go Adrian walked into the nearest casino and looked around for a one eyed man, be it in any shape or form. From the take over mage's point of view the one eyed man could refer to anything, literally a man with one eye, a statue with one eye or it could refer to a painting for all the take over mage knew. Luckily Adrian had been allowed inside the casino and not been stopped at the door due to being too young, although Adrian doubted the casino staff cared, Trillium was a rather debauchery riddled city at the end of the day.

Watching from afar through the crowds and streets of Trillium, Astrea let her mind's eye focus on the seeker, the boy with his bird now walking with some purpose towards... what? He was not heading in the direction her note had indicated and she had tried quite hard to make it not very cryptic. Still, she had no idea how the human mind truly worked - despite having spent centuries as one of them she was still no closer to understanding humans than she was to understanding the very forces of the universe themselves.
OK, that was a downright lie, she knew infinitely more about the universe.
Still, she knew something of humans, more than most of them knew of themselves though none of them could be accused of understanding their own kind anyway, so she figured it was time to place some influence in helping this poor boy find his way.

It was simple enough to put her influence onto the people around the boy as he walked, influence that did nothing to them beyond change the course of their conversations. Before they had been speaking of all manner of things but with Astrea pressing very lightly on their minds certain phrases and words began to be repeated around the boy as he walked; all he had to do was listen.
"You can own so many things if you go to the Market," some of the people near him said to each other, not directly at him but repeated from enough voices that it was surely a clear hint, "The large one on Main Street is open all night, oh yes."
"Did you hear about the weapon-smith with one eye?" was the other phrase people said, "Yes he's in the Market on the Main Street, he sells all manner of priceless things and he does jewellery too! Fine enough for any lady!"

And with that Astrea sat back and waited...

Adrian was by no means psychic or all knowing, but he couldn't help but feel the strangest feeling nagging at the back of his mind. This strange feeling felt awfully familiar and finally it hit Adrian, it was the same kind of weird feeling he got when ever someone was watching him. Having recognized the all too familiar feeling of being watched, Adrian looked around to see if anyone was watching him but for the life of him, he didn't notice anybody. However, being as attentive as his was during situations like this, there was one thing that failed to escape Adrian's attention, and that was everyone's conversations. Now, normally it would be rude to eavesdrop upon those having private conversations around you, but Adrian knew little in the way of information regarding the city and the Queen Dragon, hence why he was eavesdropping. For the most part the information Adrian had picked up via eavesdropping was of little consequence, but suddenly there was a dramatic change in the conversations around him. Everyone suddenly started talking about a market.

In terms of specific facts that Adrian picked up regarding the market there was one that stuck out above the rest, well technically two. For starters, the fact such a large amount of people inside this casino suddenly began to chat endlessly about a market, which was also Adrian's second guess if the casino failed, was far too helpful for it to be a mere coincidence, and if that didn't give it away the fact people talked about a one eyed black smith made it painfully obviously. Oh well, it might have been a little foolish of Adrian to try the casino before he tried the market, but I suppose the fact Adrian at least had it as a guess marked him as successful enough right? The take over mage was one of those people that generally just needed a little help in narrowing down and refining his ideas every now and then. It was actually partly for this refining ideas down thing why Adrian was hunting down the Queen Dragon, he had a few questions and assorted other things to ask, of course one of them he knew the answer too..he just wasn't ready to admit it.

Now, this might sound a little ah..paranoid coming from Adrian, but the fact that note from before had suddenly appeared in his pocket, combined with the fact all of these people suddenly started talked about, and giving out hints about the market lead Adrian to one conclusion: He was being watched, by who he didn't know but he had a guess.... that is if Astria was you know, real and not someone playing a trick on him; sure yeah. she had wrecked Trillium a few years ago now but that didn't mean the notes where related to her. Anyway, with this new information in hand, metaphorically speaking that is, the take over mage walked out of the casino and headed towards the market. It took Adrian asking for directions a few times until he actually found the market place, but after ten minutes or so of walking he eventually reached his destination. "Well I'm here..now to find that black smith..." Talking to himself more than anyone, Adrian searched the market place and eventually found the black smith. Walking towards the black smith, Adrian hoped he wouldn't come off as rude. "Uh..hello sir" He wasn't sure if he was meant to talk to the black smith or not, but Adrian was going to try it

The blacksmith gave no indication he noticed Adrian's presence at first, he continued hammering away at his anvil on an unidentified piece of metal, large bright sparks rising into the air with each heavy blow of his instrument. It was impressive watching the thick muscles in his arms ripple with each blow, his slightly mottled skin shining almost a soft green under the light from behind him, although his thick beard and otherwise bald head were pure white and showed no such tinge.
"Hm?" the man said after a moment, leaning back and looking up at Adrian almost dismissively, "Oh, you're the one are you? Very well then."

He halted his hammering and slowly rose to his feet, towering a good 2' over Adrian when he was fully upright and then lumbering towards the back of his shop with a surprising grace. He signalled Adrian to wait and returned a moment later with a small metal thing, a tea cup made of some kind of white metal that felt as fragile as pottery but was as unbreakable as the hardest of steels.
"Take this cup to The Rose's Thorn Cafe and present it to the woman sitting alone," the blacksmith said, staring Adrian in the eyes to make sure he understood the message fully, "Anyone outside can give you directions, it is not far"
And with that he sat back down and returned to his hammering, Adrian now forgotten since his task was at hand.

The windows of The Rose's Thorn Cafe were tinted, dark, the tables arranged outside also the same and the overall theme of the place was a clear black-and-red with many flowers scattered around. All the tables were fully occupied save one, a single table by the windows on the inside -Adrian would have to enter and look to his right to see it- held only a single tall woman with long flowing red hair seated by herself, garbed in a flowing white outfit that was at once modern and yet old-fashioned at the same time. She sat by herself, drinking tea from a pot that steamed merrily in the center of her table, one lone chair opposite her pushed out, waiting.
Waiting for Adrian.

When Adrian spoke up and did his best to attract the blacksmith's attention, he was a little annoyed that the guy just ignored him, unless of course he hadn't spoken loud enough. Taking a deep breath Adrian would speak up a second time, louder than before with the hope of catching the blacksmith's attention. Normally the take over mage was not one for speaking up and trying to get people's attention like an impatient child, but as the blacksmith hadn't even acknowledged his presence what choice did Adrian have? "Excuse me sir, I need to talk to you" This time Adrian spoke more forcibly and louder in order to get the blacksmith's attention, and luckily it worked. The blacksmith verbally acknowledge Adrian's existence, and gave away a rather interesting piece of information. Based on what the blacksmith had said, that "you're the one" line, it seemed he had been waiting for Adrian, which meant someone had told the blacksmith what Adrian looked like. At this point Adrian was starting to feel paranoid, somebody was obviously guiding him.

It seemed the blacksmith's title of "one eyed giant" was fitting, as he stood up, towering a good 2' over the take over mage. Adrian stood his ground however, and simply looked up at the giant, more than a little shocked by his height, after all it wasn't every day you saw someone who was a literal giant among men. Doing as requested, Adrian waited for the black smith to walk into the back of his store and return with a small white metal tea cup, which truly was strange. Adrian took the tea cup from the blacksmith, and held onto it tightly, worried that it would be as fragile as any normal tea cup, yet luckily it felt a lot sturdier than you'd expect from a tea cup. "Ok, so take this to the cafe? Alright" It seemed like a simple task, and given how the blacksmith went straight back to work it was unlikely he'd be of any more help. Putting the cup away safely inside one of his armor's larger pockets, Adrian walked outside and began to question the people. After about five minutes of asking random people Adrian had directions to the cafe, and began walking after pulling his mask up.

The take over mage spent about ten minutes working his way through the streets until he finally made his way to the Rose's Thorn cafe. The cafe was aptly named, decorated in the style of a rose with numerous use of red and black across the entire place. The cafe seemed a little too fanciful for Adrian, given how he was wearing armor but he shook it off, pulled down his armor's mask and walked inside. The take over mage looked around the cafe, gently patting Ozzy and stroking Buzzles's shell, wondering where his guide was seated. And then Adrian saw her, a lone woman in red hair wearing a white dress sitting at a table. Adrian approached this lone woman, standing up straight but keeping himself looking small, as was the way he was for you see, Adrian was just naturally used to not drawing attention to himself, as a result of his normal personality. Once Adrian was close enough to the table, he removed the tea cup from his pocket, and gently placed it before the woman. "Mind if I sit down miss?" When the woman allowed Adrian to sit, he did so, gently placing Ozzy on the table.

As Adrian made his way over to the tall crimson-haired woman at the table his slight stutter was not unnoticed but the woman made no comment on it. His nerves were evident and would have been even if Astrea -for it was her of course- had not the ability to completely read the minds of the beings known as humans. She gestured for the boy to sit however and he did so, placing his small chick down on the table as he did so and she sipped her tea happily, a deep and vibrant humming coming from her as she enjoyed the hot beverage. If there was one thing of all things that humans had discovered that made the Queen of Dragons happy it was tea, if she had to save one thing they had ever discovered it was that and she would have drank it all day, every day for the rest of forever if she had her way. And since nobody was in a position to deny her anything she might just do that...

"Please, Adrian, take some tea if you would like." she said calmly as she gestured to the iron cup, her voice the kind of voice you paid attention to without meaning it, the kind of thing you noticed and listened to eagerly no matter who you were or what you thought of Astrea herself. It was rich and deep, vibrant and musical and it seemed to be singing even as she spoke so calmly, the kind of thing that reverberated not only in the ears but in the soul, calming and soothing you to your very core. No doubt it would have this effect on Adrian as well as his bird, but Astrea worried not about that, she was used to humans paying attention when she spoke and for good reason. One did not refuse a queen, and one especially did not refuse a queen of Dragons.

She took another long sip of her tea, sighing with satisfaction once she had finished her imbibing of the liquid and she placed her cup down and studied the boy with a single glance. Like her voice it was a glance you would notice but this time it was because it was the kind of glance that felt like it looked to your very core, as though she knew your most intimate secrets and did not judge you but loved you no matter what.
"You have sought me for a reason, Adrian Snooks," she said in that same musical harmony, "And I would like to hear from your own lips what it is you seek from my company. What are you after, Adrian, and what would you do for it?"

Adrian was finding it hard to believe that this woman was really Asteria, the queen of the dragons, she seemed too... well, polite to be honest. Adrian had heard about how Asteria attacked Trillium, so he had been kind of expecting a more cruel woman, yet the way she acted utterly contradicted that entirely. "Are you...really Asteria? I am finding this a little hard to believe..and thank you for the offer of tea" Adrian liked tea, so he accepted Asteria's offer and poured himself a cup, adding in milk and sugar as he had a sweet tooth. Letting the tea call down for a while Adrian just went back to looking at Asteria, finding himself paying very close attention to her when she spoke. Listening to Asteria humming, Adrian had to admit it was kind of beautiful, but he wasn't going to say that any time soon. The reason why Adrian wanted to keep his thoughts to himself was because he was a little...afraid of Asteria, dragons where very powerful after all, and the take over mage was no dragon slayer.

There was silence as the two of them drank their tea, and it only made Adrian more and more nervous, silence left him free to consider things, and some of the ideas that tended to come to Adrian during these periods of contemplation brought him self doubt. The biggest worry Adrian was having that Asteria might well, he was worried she might kill him on a whim, but how would Adrian know that for sure? The silence was broken, much to Adrian's relief, by Asteria speaking up and asking why he had sort her out. The reason why Adrian had sought Asteria out was rather complex, but the take over mage would do his best to answer it. "Well, I...don't really know, I guess I just want..some guidance in my life...actually...okay if I must be honest, she is why I'm here" Adrian nodded towards the Ostrich chick and sighed, he was about to go into more detail about his reasons, but worried they where silly. "And well, Ozzy is really the only family I have left..but she's not...well human. I'm worried this might be..cruel, but I wish she was..or at least could turn into a human." There was something else Adrian wanted as well.

"There's something else as well. I want to talk to you, ask you questions about the world and...about you, and dragons at that as well." And now it came for Adrian to answer Asteria's other question, regarding how far Adrian would go, and what he would do to get what he wanted. "As for what I'd do to get it? Well, it depends on what I'd need to do, within reason of course..." Adrian had dreams and desires, a few of them made known here, but he wasn't going to compromise his morals for them. What morals where these? Well, for starters he wasn't going to murder someone or ruin someones life, and if it turned out Asteria would make that a requirement, Adrian wouldn't do it. Of course at the moment this was all just speculation, as the take over mage didn't really know what task Asteria would make him do. Actually, on the subject of Asteria, Adrian had one final question. "Why do you give out riddles for us to solve? I thought you didn't like humans...of course I'm only human, so what would I know about dragons?" Adrian shrugged his shoulders and took another sip of tea.

The crimson-haired woman smiled slightly as Adrian spoke, her eyes twinkling with some unknown emotion as the boy gave his concerns as well as his queries across to her, saying what he wanted but not in so many words and with little elucidation.
"As-trea," she said softly, emphasising the correct pronunciation of her name to the young man who had said it wrong so many times in a short period, "But it is of no matter. You have said things you want but not the reason you have sought me out, though this is quite clear either way. It is in the act of expressing your own desires that you truly understand what it is that you want for yourself, but we can come back to that in a moment as your questions are pert, but not rude."

She took another sip of her tea as she considered his questions, her expression unreadable except for the momentary pleasure she underwent when drinking the hot liquid, hers unsweetened by sugar but with honey and only the tiniest dash of milk - goat's milk too, rather than cow's as Adrian had before him. The flavour was more robust and that was how Astrea preferred it.
"I give out no riddles," she said after a moment of consideration, her eyes once more giving Adrian that long, studying look that seemed to penetrate to his very core, "I give directions, a way to find me for those who truly wish to do so. My time is not so flippant as to allow me to be available for every slack-jawed yokel who would want to ask me inane questions about the depths of existence, so it is only to those with a true desire that can find me in the method I have chosen. I assume it is similar with my children."

She took another sip and then shook her head slightly, her elegant tresses moving as she did so with a grace that few human women could mirror no matter how they tried.
"It is quite untrue that my race hates your kind," she said, her eyes never once leaving Adrian's own, "We were driven out by your race and pushed to the brink of extinction. I was imprisoned for millenia in a place from which I had no physical escape and my loved ones and friends were exterminated by a race we considered to be as ants once upon a time. No, we do not hate you for your race is ignorant, not of your own fault of course but because of your short lives. It is one thing to live without dying and yet another to die so suddenly and not understand all there is to see, I fault you not for that."

Her eyes turned critical, her stare unblinking.
"Say it plainly to me, Adrian. What do you ask of me that you would seek me out with such a purpose for? Questions I will answer within reason but if your only goal is to ask then that reason shall be extended. If you have another driving motive state it as a request, and I shall see if I can oblige you."
Simple, direct, to the point.
