Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Kali's first assumption when it came to Ranth was that he bore some relation to the women in purple, either as a friend or family member, and it seemed that this assumption was correct. Kali realised that having Ranth around, as the Nephew of that women would be very useful, after all he'd probably be very familiar with the layout of this house and may have intimate knowledge of the fish tank. "OPh um, could you help me find the fish tank then?..Oh uh um I didn't introduce myself sorry.. Umm, my name is Kali" Kali's nervousness could probably seen in her body language, tone of voice, the way she stuttered over her words and of course the usage of filler words and pauses. A part of Kali hoped that this stranger would be wiling to assist her, that way it meant the pale skinned female could simply follow Ranth's lead as she found that a lot easier than leading. It was true that Kali's confidence when it came to leading had been improving but that was only around Tealiin, who wasn't here at the time. Speaking of Tealiin Kali should arrange a meeting with her again sometime..she had things to discuss!

Like a lot of other people Kali had met in the past Ranth was..surprised by her outfit, saying it was interesting. Now the problem with that wasn't that Kali disagreed but instead she found it embarrassing, really embarrassing in fact. Due to how shy and bad with people Kali actually was she wasn't used to being complimented, which explained why Ranth had caused her some embarrassing. "Re-really? Oh um ok..thanks...ummm.." Kali fidgeted and poked her two fingers together, as well as the robotic octopus like tentacles that were part of her suit. The main reason why Kali had worn this suit today was because she could easily use it underwater to pick up rocks and the like as it granted her extra limbs. The second, and perhaps more important reason, why Kali wore this suit today was because she could easily incorporate scuba gear into it, if it turned out the lady in person had any that is. All Kali really knew about the ring's location was that it was inside the fish tank and that the fish tank was inside the house, which meant it could be easily found by just looking around.

"Absolutely!", Ranth agreed, completely missing Kali's embarrassed reaction- or at least not recognising it for what it was. Plus, he was trying to distract Kali from her earlier question for aid. It wasn't so much that he was averse to helping people- he was really quite fond of living in the grey area on that score- but since he'd never set foot in this house before, he had no idea where the fish tank they were looking for was. So while he tried to think of a plausible excuse for not knowing the layout of his supposed Aunt's house, he laid it on thick with interest regarding Kali's suit.

"I've never seen anything quite like it. What's it made of? Where'd you get it? How do you get the arms to move?" It was one question after another, with nary a chance for poor Kali to answer him until he was finished. Even as he asked his questions, he stepped closer and peered intently at the suit, leaning to one side and then the other as he examined it for clues as to its makeup. of course, he was uniquely equipped to examine the suit with an... extra level of detail. There was no obvious sign that Ranth was using magic as he examined the suit, however if Kali paid very close attention to his eyes, she might notice that his amber eyes seemed to become slightly brighter for a moment as the spell came into effect.

Suddenly, Ranth was able to see Kali's outfit in a new light as his magically enhanced eyes drank in details he'd have had no hope of noticing before. This suit was far more complex than he'd first imagined. Rather than being used for combat like he'd originally assumed, it possessed some kind of atmospheric regulatory function for the user. Was it possible that Kali didn't so much choose to wear the suit, but rather she [/i] had no choice[/i] but to wear it? "Fascinating, truly fascinating...", he muttered under his breath as did a slow circle around the girl to view the suit from all angles- heedless of the further awkwardness and possibly distress he was likely causing her.

To hear Ranth agree to her request brought Kali a lot of relief, having someone who most likely knew the ins and outs of the house as well as having intimate knowledge of the fish tank. So the thing that surprised Kali was that despite Ranth's agreement to help, or that was what Kali thought he was agreeing to, was that the male strangely enough wasn't leading Kali to the fish tank. Due to how passive she was the pale skinned women wouldn't be asking Ranth a second time to lead her, after all she was really shy, too shy in fact, to actually further push it upon Ranth. It might have made no sense what so ever for Kali to not ask a second time, I mean she needed to complete this mission, but Kali was convinced that Ranth would eventually get to guiding Kali right? There was obviously a reason why Ranth hadn't started to lead Kali through the house and that reason became known soon.

This reason turned out to be pure curiosity as Ranth began questioning Kali about her suit, asking good questions such as "What's it made off? Where's it from? How'd you get the arms to move? And so on so forth. All of these questions were indeed good ones to ask and while Kali adored the growth and spreading of knowledge, she felt a little bit insecure, okay really insecure, about it and as such wasn't one hundred percent okay with answering. Despite this Kali realised that she was far too shy to actually put her foot down and refuse to answer the male's questions, so with that in mind answer she would do. "Well u-uhmm..it's made of Dalektanium, a metal from my own world... As for where I got it?..I umm..got it from my father's company. And the arms are a combination of magic and technology which allows me to control them as I would my arms" As those were facts about Kali's suit she felt more secure having said them, facts were facts after all and you couldn't really dispute them without proof.

Kali looked towards Ranth after answering the questions and as a result of this she noticed that the boy's eyes seemed to become brighter? Very slightly brighter and difficult to notice but brighter none the less. What this increase in brightness meant was an unknown fact of the situation and that made the already nervous Kali feel even more nervous and, while she could have asked about the change of brightness, Kali was far too shy to actually do so. A lot of people said that Kali's suit was a fascinating piece of technology and Ranth happened to be no exception. The nervous feeling Kali felt was only worsened when Ranth started to circle Kali, admiring every inch of the mechanical suit. Sure it was true that Ranth was only admiring Kali's suit but as Kali herself was wearing the suit it felt a little creepy, okay really really creepy. Kali looked towards Ranth wishing he'd stop and this was a rare situation were she'd ask him to "Umm..can..you cut that out?..It's..creepy.." Kali blushed and fidgeted nervously, poking her fingers together as she did so.

Ranth paused his inspection, a puzzled look on his face thanks to Kali's words. "Dalek... whatium? Home world? You make it sound like you're an alien or something", he chuckled and as per her request, ceased his scrutiny of both her and her outfit. "Sorry, I suppose I got a little carried away there", he said with an apologetic shrug. "Still, it's impressive that you made it yourself", he confided before finally stepping back and turning his gaze to the door to the rest of the house. "So I guess we should start looking for that ring before my Aunt gets back", he sighed.

He still hadn't worked out how he was going to bluff his way through this next part, but at the moment Kali seemed so flustered by his interest in her suit that she might not even give it any thought. After all, he had no idea what the layout of the house was- much less where the aquarium that the ring had been dropped in was. Still, improvisation was one of his strong suits and it wasn't like Kali was suspicious of him. What did he have to worry about? Leading the way into the foyer, Ranth decided to follow the main hall that connected the front door to the rest of the house, his eyes scanning the rooms they passed for any sign of their objective.

Of course, in the meantime he kept Kali's attention otherwise distracted from his aimless wandering of the house with conversation. "So my Aunt hired you to find her ring... does that mean you're a guild mage Kali?" Of course, Ranth was a mage himself, but given that he hadn't given Kali any reason to suspect as much, he allowed a little bit of awe to creep into his voice. After all, who didn't like to feel flattered. Especially women...

It was no surprise that the answers of where Kali got her suit from and what it was made from confused Ranth, many people in Kali's past had been equally confused by her suit and the information by it. It was funny that Ranth used the word alien as technically Kali was. One definition of the word alien was "a foreigner, especially one who is not a naturalized citizen of the country where he or she is living" and as Kali had made her way to Fiore from a completely different world, that definition definitely applied to her. Kali was grateful that Ranth had ceased his scrutiny of her suit, especially as it meant she herself was being examined so closely and like I said before she found that very creepy and more than a little bit weird. "Umm yes we should" Kali agreed with Ranth that they should indeed go and find the missing ring, that was why Kali was here after all.

When Ranth lead the way into the Foyer and looked around for the fish tank Kali followed behind, keeping her two eyes open and searching for the fish tank as well but sadly she didn't spot it. As the two mages searched Ranth asked if Kali was a guild mage, which was a good question to ask, after all Kali's suit obstructed her guild mark from view. "Umm..yes I am" When Kali answered that question there was a splashing sound from the fish tank, which was located upstairs and the Lamia Scale mage looked to Ranth after that. "Umm..was..that water?.." It was obviously water, a splash of water caused by a fish tank, and that would be the clue to where this fish tank was. The sound echoed down the stair case and that meant it must have been on the second floor, which was a little strange as most large scale fish tanks were on the first floor of houses, right? Oh well, it didn't really matter where the fish tank was so long as Ranth and Kali knew where it was and got the mission done.

"Huh, you know what? I think it was", Ranth replied absently as he peered up the flight of stairs where the telltale bubbling sound that was frequently associated with fishtanks could be heard. The difference here being that the sound was on a much larger scale... more like the engine of some kind of large vehicle. As he climbed the stairs, the reason for this soon became obvious as he stepped off the staircase and found himself facing a floor to ceiling, wall to wall piece of glass beyond which was a vast quantity of water as well as an impressive variety of colorful fish, coral and aquatic plants..

The room continued to the left and Ranth had to admit he'd never seen something quite as impressive as what he now laid his eyes upon. The indoor squarium didn't just occupy one wall, but actually stretched across the ceiling and down the other wall as well. Roughly twenty metres away, there was a door through which Ranth had to assume was a way to actually get into the water. Thankfully, none of the fish in the quarium looked dangerous, but there were two still major issues facing them. The aquarium was huge and the current caused by the machine that pumped air into the water could have taken the ring anywhere within it. The second problem was that Ranth wasn't a fish and couldn't hold his breath for more than a couple of minutes at a time- which would make looking for the ring difficult.

"I don't suppose your suit allows you to breathe underwater does it?" Ranth asked as he turned slowly on the spot so as to appropriately admire the aquarium. If nothing else, Ranth's currently enhanced vision would give him a chance to locate the ring without having to get into the water- but it was a slim one at best. "Ever hear the expression, looking for a needle in a haystack? I think that sounds easy compared to this..."

Ranth agreed with Kali that the splashing sound the pair heard was indeed the sound of a fish tank, which was a good thing as if it wasn't Kali would have felt very foolish and even more embarrassed than she had before hand. When Ranth walked towards the stairs Kali followed after him, her ears picking up the sound of bubbling which sounded like a vehicle's engine more than a fish tank, however Kali wouldn't know the difference as her world didn't have fish tanks. In the world Kali came from the fish their was large and/or very dangerous, far too dangerous or large to keep as pets and that was why the pale skinned girl had never seen or heard a fish tank before in her life. As Ranth climbed up the staircase Kali followed behind him, listening to the sounds of the fish tank as they grew louder and louder, which made sense as at the top of the stair case, the fish tank became visible and it was a very big fish tank at that, filled with many exotic colour types of fish.

For Kali who had never seen a fish tank before in her entire life, or even knew what they were, she was amazed to see this simply enormous fish tank with all of the colour, lights and fish inside. Kali's eyes went wide and she stood in place for a few moments, staring bewildered at the fish tank in shock and..fear. "Oh umm..whoa....is..this a umm..fish tank?.." Kali asked nervously, her amazement at the sight of this fish tank dampened by her fear of the fish, after all she had been raised in a world where pretty much every type of fish was dangerous and wanted to eat you. Kali was lost in her thoughts for a moment, staring wide eyed at the fish tank in shock, until she was brought back to reality by Ranth asking her a question. It was a good Ranth asked, after all if Kali's suit allowed her to breath underwater then this mission would be easy, but sadly that wasn't the case. "Umm..no...sorry, my suit filters out and lowers the amount of oxygen I inhale while adding sulfur to it..." while it was true that Kali's suit didn't allow her to breath underwater, if she hooked up some oxygen tanks to it then she'd be able to; oxygen tanks like the ones sitting un-used next to the giant tank.

"Well it's definitely not a sauna", Ranth said, unable to hold back the witty remark at Kali's expense. It was a minor setback that Kali's suit wasn't already equipped with underwater functionability, but thanks to ranth's earlier analysis of her suit, he was reasonably sure that modifications could be made in order to provide that function... in theory anyway. Spotting the oxygen tanks that Kali's eyes had fallen upon, he unknowingly had the exact same thought that she had and so he headed straight over to them and crouched beside them to inspect them more closely. There were six tanks in total, each one about as large as an average scuba divers tank. However, these were modified slightly as rather than being intended for use in scuba diving, they were instead designed to be plugged into the tanks filitration system.

"Do you think you could rig this into your suit to breathe underwater?" he asked as he stood up and pointed to the tanks in question. By his estimation, each tank would provide enough air for her to breathe for half an hour. Of course, this rather low estimation was because the tank hadn't been designed for the use they had in mind and sadly that meant that the efficiency with which the oxygen could be used was on the wrong side of pitiful.

of course, one thing that hadn't ocurrred to Ranth at all was whethe ror not Kali could a) perform the required modifications without aid and b) perform the required modifications without taking the suit off. Rather, his attention was stolen by a large whale-liek creature as it glider across the roof of the tank, casting a great shadow over the room as it passed across the light somewhere above. "I wonder how strong the glass is...", he muttered under his breath. The idea of something that big colliding with the glass gave him a little bit of worry as to its durability.
