Giant Aquarium Kali had recently decided to form a sort of team with Tealiin and another mage called Tsura, whom she was yet to actually meet in person. When Tea had presented the idea of forming a team from the three of them to Kali, she had at first been un-trusting of Tsura, due to the fact they hadn't met yet but due to Tea's convincing Kali had decided to at least meet him. And it was meeting Tsura that promoted Kali to take on this mission, after all she already knew how well she worked with Tealiin so testing to see how she worked with Tsura was the next logical step. On the subject of Tsura, Kali was waiting inside of the Lamina Scale guild, sitting inside of the North Wing. Normally the North Wing is used for sleeping quarters and the like, but it also had a sort of lounge place, and it was at this lounge Kali was waiting; of course Kali didn't live at the guild due to her atmospheric requirements but she still felt the lounge of the guild's North Wing made for a suitable meeting spot. On the subject of Kali's atmospheric requirements, she had chosen to wear her Octosuit over the Wolf model today, why? Well, the mission Kali had chosen for herself and Tsura was one that required them to dive inside a fish tank in search of a missing ring, and if you're picking up rocks and stuff underwater additional limbs would be useful. Also Kali's suit was designed to supply her with the sulfur she required to breath via a combination of magic and numerous miniature pipes through the face mask of the outfit. Anyway, with Kali sitting in a seat her suit's tentacles sprawled over the floor she was getting a little bored, oh and for those of you wondering how Kali handled the weight of her suit's "head piece" it isn't actually that heavy. As Kali had been the one to pick out this mission she was grateful that her father had gotten her swimming lessons when she was younger, you couldn't exactly search for a ring inside of a house sized fish tank unless you knew how to swim right? Kali. That is the name of the third team member in Team [As of yet undecided]. Tsura hadn't met this woman before, but from what Muffin said, she seems trustworthy. Tealiin didn't give many details, other than she was a tad... odd. Tsura, being the inquisitive mind, decided to accept a mission request that would allow her to finally meet the third hand of their partnership. She already knew and befriended Tealiin, someone she views almost as an older sister, but was interested in getting to know this woman. Their decided meeting place was the North Wing lounge, somewhere Tsura hadn't explored yet due to her times in the libraries. The small girl was relatively unknown amongst the guild, having done nothing of import over the few months she'd been around, but her power was never questioned. Partially she couldn't answer those questions, partially because she'd won most duels she'd been a part of. Of course, those duels were with newbie guild members from outgoing places like Fairy Tail, who didn't know what they were getting into. The nature of the mission, essentially to swim inside a giant fish tank in search for some ring that was supposed to be valuable despitethefactthatifitwasgoldallofthevaluewouldbegonebynowbecauseofthemaintainedphbalanceofthewater. Tsura wasn't a weak swimmer, living in a polar region teaches you how to swim pretty quickly, but those waters were deadly and the aim of swimming was to get out as quickly as possible. She didn't know how she'd do, but was willing to give it all she's g-- She turned the corner and found Kali, or what seems to be Kali, dressed in some sort of futuristic suit with a odd head and squid-like tentacles coming from it. It was odd, to be fair and Tsura didn't know how to deal with it. So she just stared and blinked, until she shook the confusion away and waved to her slightly. |

The moments ticked by, as seconds felt like they lasted minutes and minutes felt like hours which was of course all due to how bored Kali happened to be currently. In fact while Kali was indeed a very patient individual, that didn't prevent her being affected by boredom hence why waiting for Tsura to show up was starting to become problematic. At this point Kali was indeed starting to consider just going off and doing the mission by herself, after all the female mech girl's partner for the mission was actually kind of late, and Kali preferred punctuality in her partners. Just as Kali was about to get up and go off to do the mission herself, she saw the door to the North Wing Lounge open up and a female figure walk through it. This might sound more than a little bit stalker like but Kali had asked Tealiin to describe what Tsura looked like, so when Kali's mission partner walked through the entrance way Kali recognised them pretty instantly. Personally Kali wished Tea was here..... Kali needed to talk to the goat related mage anyway. Rising to her feet Kali noticed the look that Tsura had on her face, it was one of confusion and blankly staring, a look that Kali had been the victim of many times in the past. As a nation Fiore was accepting enough of people but that still didn't protect Kali from the stares she got due to her life support equipment and it seemed those stares followed her even here. However, on a separate note despite the fact Tsura had been staring at Kali it was still nice to see them wave, after all most people in Tsura's position happened to just blankly stare at Kali like she was some sort of freak. Kali walked over to Tsura, trying to keep the tentacles curled up as to prevent them from knocking anything over or being a problem. Upon reaching Tsura, Kali smiled through her facial mask, not that anybody would be able to see it, and waved before talking up herself. "Um, hello, do you happen to be Tsura?" Hopefully this young girl was indeed Tsura, or else Kali was going to just get the mission done herself. |

'Fascinating. Gorgeous and fascinating.' Were the thoughts that entered Tsura's mind as she observed the metallic body move. Tsura was practically drooling as the magnificent specimen of unparalleled science. Truly, this squidy-exoskeleton was the most technologically advanced piece of machinery she'd ever laid her eyes upon. She approached her mechanical friend, whom she realised was truly Kali and gently put her hand on the cold steel knee of the suit. Tsura silently rambled in her head about how it could possibly be like this. She completely ignored Kali's question, Tsura's childish attention brought to the wondrous tentacle-like appendages that she proceeded to lift and feel. She adored the texture of the suit and was in awe of it. It was decided. She loved this person. Tsura finally backed off after a few more wide-eyed observations and bowed, confirming that she was indeed Tsura Kori. Tsura gave Kali her attempt at a smile, which is the unmoving, straight-face with slightly bright eyes. Now to business at hand. Tsura reached into the pocket of her brown winter jacket under her red Christmas cloak. Pulling out a small slip of lined paper, she passed the note to Kali. The note was tiny and the message, written in pink glitter pen, was clear. "Sorry I'm late. We should get moving." |

Despite Kali asking this girl if she was indeed Tsura or not, they didn't answer and seemed to silently stare at Kali's suit. Kali was well aware her suits brought her a lot of stares, yet that didn't mean she was okay with it, and the fact this female was staring at Kali upset her. Any normal person in this situation would have probably requested for Tsura to stop staring at them, yet Kali was well..she was far too shy to actually do this. "Umm......" Fidgeting nervously, all the pale skinned female was able to get out was that shy sounding umm, so she didn't really verbally object to being stared at. Of course, due to Kali's lack of a verbal objection to what Tsura was doing, she would be taking it further. It was when Tsura began to touch and feel Kali's tentacles that she squeaked in displeasure and snatched them away from Tsura. If you knew who Kali was, then she wasn't one to let strangers invade her personal space, and while normally she would be too shy to argue, this one time was an exception. "Can you not do that please?...." If there was ever an example of a first bad impression, then this was it, as Tsura hadn't exactly made a good impression. "Um..." Kali, despite her dislike of Tsura, accepted her partners letter and read it, wondering why the girl just didn't say it. "Well umm..that's okay." Kali followed after her partner, and the two of them would walk until they reached a large house. Eventually the two mages would reach a slightly bigger than average two story house, which had a large fish tank attached to the back of it. According to the directions on the job's flyer, this was the location the two mages needed to reach. A more forward and confident person would have probably gone and knocked on the door at this point, but sadly Kali was not such a person, so it would fall to Tsura to do that. Hopefully Kali's partner would actually go and knock on the door, which if she did Kali would follow after her, fidgeting nervously as she didn't like Tsura. The reason for this dislike was how Tsura had acted before, showing up late and just intruding upon Kali's personal space without asking first. Those where one of the things that upset Kali rather a lot. |

Tsura was confused. As the two mages walked down the Belladonian street, Kali seemed to avoid and ignore the silent child. As a teenager would, Tsura was hurt by what she saw as an unprovoked hatred. She walked behind Kalu for a while, miring in a feeling of depression. Tsura was just curious about the woman's exoskeleton and wanted to learn about it, it was Kali who was being overly sensitive. When they arrived at the house of their upper-class client, Tsura found herself looking up and blinking. How come she never saw this eyesore of a house before? Nonetheless, she sighed silently and stood beside Kali, expecting her to walk up to the door and explain their presence to the homeowner. However, the machine-suited woman didn't move. Tsura blinked up at her. Really? She wanted the young teenager to go up to the door and sp- Whatever. With a blank face of irritation, Tsura walked onto the porch of the fancy house and slammed her palm against the white oak door. After a few moments, a "Well?" She squawked. "What do you want? Speak up, child!" Her voice grated against Tsura's ears and she bowed lightly before turning to Kali and gave her a look that said 'Get the hell over here.' Tsura didn't understand Kali's nervousness and truly didn't really care. All she knew was that Kali could speak while Tsura couldn't, so it was up to her less than welcoming partner to give the details of their 'visit'. Mooonyy

Kali felt that the way Tsura remained silent was more than a little creepy, but perhaps there was a reason for it. In Kali's home world she had learned of the existence of people who weren't exactly able to talk, and if that was the case then Kali realised why Tsura hadn't asked. "Are...you unable to talk Tsura?...If so I owe you an apology" Hopefully Tsura wouldn't really feel upset or offended, it wasn't that Kali hated her, she just didn't like people intruding on her personal space without asking, especially if they where strangers. Anyway, if Tsura would respond to this question, then Kali would just respond to that when it came. In the mean time she had to respond to the lady who had answered the front door. Okay well, Kali now felt like she had screwed up rather badly, especially based upon the angry look Tsura had sent her. Kali walked over and stood by Tsura, sending her an apologetic look as best she could, before returning her attention to the woman in purple. "Umm..excuse me ma'am, we're the mages you hired to find your ring. My name is Kali and this is Tsura..." Kali hoped that she could mend the burned bridges before herself and Tsura, but honestly at the moment it wasn't exactly a confirmed future. The whale of a female seemed to be judging the two girls before her, both the silent one and the shy one, before she reached a choice. "WELL THEN, come in!" The lady walked inside, with Kali following behind her. Inside the house the two mages would soon be led to a giant fish tank. Kali looked over to her partner as they walked and decide to well...she wrapped one of the tentacles gently around Tsura's left hand, holding it softly allowing the cool metal to press against the skin. Returning our attention to the giant fish tank, it was simply huge. Beyond the glass walls their was numerous different types of fish, ranging from sharks and Cephalopods, to crustaceans and numerous types of smaller fishes. It was inside this fish tank that the ring was inside, hidden somewhere in the mirk and gloom. The two mages would have to peer into the fog, in hopes of answers as to where the ring would be. It was what one might call a nice day in Belladonna. The weather was passable, far from cloudless but with enough blue bits visible that you couldn't exactly call it overcast either. The air was warm, save for the faint yet persistent breeze that ruffled the coats of the folk in the streets and in the midst of all this, a young man with blonde hair and a troubled expression sat on a park bench- foot tapping impatiently as he mumbled to himself. Occasionally, snatches of his ramblings could be heard by passerby, but if anyone had stopped to listen, they would have sounded like the ravings of a madman. "Gotta do something different... something he'd never do. Gotta prove that I'm me... not him..." It was a struggle for Ranth- although he felt conflicted about using that name- as he pondered his rather peculiar predicament. He was facing an identity crisis of sorts, the likes of which few- if any- could have related to, much less understood even if he'd been inclined to sit down and explain it to him... which he wasn't. To make a long story short however, he was thinking very hard about doing something that he'd a) never done before and b) up until that point never been likely to do either. Again, the reasons for this were complicated, but nevertheless it was vital that he think of something and then carried it out to boot. One might say his sense of self depended on it. "I never... he never stole anything...", Ranth mumbled, his head lifting up suddenly as he rolled the idea of brazen, pointless daylight robbery through his head. "If I did that, wouldn't it prove that I'm not him?" His gut instinct told him that it was a terrible idea, yet that was exactly why he immediately decided that it was perfect. Without going into details, suffice to say that Ranth was currently of a mindset that he would go out of his way to do exactly the opposite of what he thought he would normally do when faced with any given choice or situation. So with that sorted- albeit in an unconventional and nonsensical way from the perspective of anyone else- Ranth stood with new found purpose and set about looking for somewhere to steal from. After all, he'd never really lived up to the moniker 'dark mage' and perhaps now was a good time to start. As it turned out though, choosing somewhere to rob- even at random- proved to be rather tricky. He'd chose to begin his life of crime in an area with... well... not much to steal. There were no shops, only rather run down residential housing that looked like they'd be lucky to even own gold jewelry. It hardly counted as theft if he took something worthless that nobody would miss after all, would it? Thankfully though, at that precise moment, he spotted one house that stood out from the others. Where the others around it had weed strewn lawns with grass coloured varying shades of brown, this house was well kept and bright green. The paint was fresh and not peeling like its neighbors. To top it all off, the garden bursting with colour. Everything about it screamed 'wealth' with every fiber of its being. Now this was surely a house worth stealing from. Strolling through the front gate, Ranth looked very much like he might as well have been the owner of the household- or at least a member of it- as he walked right up to the front, placed his hand on the knob and turned it. Thankfully, the door was unlocked, or he'd have looked like a right prat and carefully, he opened the door and stepped inside- closing the door gently behind him. Somewhere ahead, he could hear a woman's voice and he resisted the urge to find somewhere to hide as he eavesdropped on the conversation in progress. "As I was saying dear, it was very silly of me, but I dropped my ring into the aquarium. I would get it myself, but I'm a dreadful swimmer, simply dreadful! The ring was given to me by my late husband and it means more to me than anything else in the world!" Now this got Ranth's attention. A ring given to a woman who lived in a house like this would surely be worth a small fortune. It was probably covered in diamonds, made from gold and lined with silver and who knew what other valuable materials. Yes, if he could get his hands on the ring she was talking about, then he'd be able to prove once and for all that he was his own person... probably. "Anyway, I'd best leave you to it. I have a date with some of my girlfriends at the most delightful cafe on main street. I'll be back in a few hours darling". No sooner had this been said then Ranth heard the sounds of heavy footsteps and barely managed to duck into an adjoining room- a study from what he could tell- before the woman who had been speaking left through the front door- leaving Ranth alone in the house with whoever the woman had been speaking to. He'd the first part of their conversation, but it seemed that whoever it was, they were after the ring too- albeit for more honest ends. |

The women that opened up the door and answered it could only be described as a huge whale of a women, who was obviously over weight. This women had some very purple clothing on her, ranging from the purple dress to the makeup, that simply ghastly hat and that fan. Kali, as someone who adored fashion, felt this women's outfit was simply..horrible, mostly due to how the purple was horribly over powering. Purple was normally a nice colour but this whale of a women really didn't know how to use it, you could always have too much of a good thing and that perfectly described this women's outfit. "Um hello, I'm the mage you requested to help you find your lost ring?.." Kali gulped and fidgeted, pushing her fingers together as she suddenly felt rather afraid of this female, as not only was she quite large she spoke in a rather demanding bossy voice. But that had been in the past and now Kali was inside the painfully decorated eyesore of a house. Kali wasn't one to verbally say offensive potentially insult words but that didn't mean she couldn't think them and really..when it came to this house all Kali could describe it as was tacky.. Kali listened politely to the women in her purple dress after she was welcomed inside the house and from this listening the shy girl learned a few things. For starters the women had been married once, which Kali was honestly happy to hear as while yes, this women was kind of imposing she didn't seem like a mean person, just slightly bossy. The second thing Kali had learned was that this ring had been given to the purple wearing women by her late husband which probably explained why she was attached to it. Monetary value and a price tag were one thing but sometimes emotional attachment and memories were far more valuable, that was something Kali personally believed in despite her own lack of romantic experiences. Well, as the women in purple apparently had a meeting with her friends, a sort of date but the type between normal friends just spending time with each other, that left Kali to complete this mission. Kali realised that she hadn't exactly asked the women in purple where to find the fish tank and as a result well..she couldn't go after the women and leave her home un-watched could she? The only logical thing to do for Kali would be to search the house's rooms and that is what she did. The first room Kali decided to search was the very same room that Ranth was hiding in, which could go either really badly or really well. When the pale girl in her armored flying suit walked into the room Ranth was hiding out in, she came face to face with him and stared, wondering who he was. The only conclusion Kali could reach was that Ranth was related to the purple women, which all things considered probably made a lot of sense when you thought about it. "Umm..excuse me, are you..the client's brother or son?.." If the answer to that question turned out to be that Ranth had no relation to the women then Kali would be very worried. |

Ranth had thought it a good idea to wait for a short while after the woman left before venturing out into the house in search of the ring. unsure of exactly how long to wait, he'd settled for counting to thirty just in case the woman returned unexpectedly. Upon reaching the desired number and no sign of the woman's return presenting itself, he'd decided it was safe to venture out into the rest of the house in search of his prize- the ring. However, as he went to step through the door, he found himself face to face with a peculiar character- namely because of the remarkably odd outfit she was wearing- at least Ranth was fairly sure it was a girl before him. He wouldn't kill her... does that mean should I kill her?, he wondered for the briefest of moments before shooing the thought away with exasperation. That was more than a little ridiculous and further than he was resolved to go just to prove a point to himself. "Am I...? Oh, you mean my Aunt", Ranth replied with only a brief pause as he began lying through his teeth and hoping that Kali took his hesitation for confusion over hearing his 'relative' referred to as 'the client'. Eager to steer the conversation in a direction that wouldn't incriminate him, Ranth took a step back and made a point of examining Kali from head to toe whilst actually trying to piece together who this person was based off of the snippet of conversation he'd heard upon his arrival. "So you're here to... look for my Auntie's ring?" Ranth ventured. "That's an... interesting outfit you're wearing". Now the curiosity in Ranth's vocie was no lie as he was genuinely curious as to why anyone would choose to walk around in such a bizarre outfit. Was it designed for combat? if so, what kind of help had the woman hired to find her ring? Furthermore, Ranth's assumption that the ring held enormous value was simultaneously being reinforced in a big way. If he could convince this girl that he really was her client's relative, then it should be easy to convince her to hand the ring over to him upon finding it. That was... assuming the girl knew where it was, because Ranth certainly didn't. |
