Mission Info Requests, now while they often varied from nearly everything under the moon that came through tartaros since they always got the job done no matter the odds, there was always a few odd ones that everyone knew had to be crazy or would just laugh at. This request surely was one of those, someone requested Ryo via the black market channels and Tartaros to take a request that sounded like pure insanity. The requester wanted Ryo to meet up with him, collect a sort of guide to help him collect some sort of special dust that held powerful magical properties. Apparently the last person to attempt this ended up simply just falling out of the sky empty handed. Making someone who really could get the job done needed..despite how outlandish the request was. With some grumbling Ryo set out from Coreopsis to meet up with the requester, fetch this guide and find the entrance to where ever these wishacorns lived. Ryo had heard of quite a few magical creatures and fought a good amount of them over the years but never once had he ever heard of a wishacorn, he had of a unicorn and a willowisp and so forth but never a wishacorn, he couldn't even begin to imagine what these creatures could look like or be capable of. Being prepared for the worst Ryo made his way into Oshinbana Town and started to head toward the tavern that planned on hosting the meeting. The plan was to check into the tavern under a certain name, that gave the bartender the heads up who he was and looking for, he would be directed from there. Entering the tavern in his new clothes that made him a little less a eyesore or stick out like a sore thumb, he could instantly notice how much less people noticed him as he walked in only turning about a dozen or so heads as he walked up to the barkeep. " Uh I need a room for the night, a room for a Mr.Casanova. " Ryo would say in a low voice eyeing the bartender for a moment with little to no disregard for everyone else in the tavern as he figured they posed no threat. |

The man behind the desk represented the pinnacle of decrepitude. His lips hung slack over teeth that were yellowed and few n far in between. Though it took a moment for Ryo's words to even register a vague light eventually dawned in the glazed and cataracted eyes of the inn's keeper. "Whats that, sonny?" his every word whistled through the gaps in his teeth as he cocked his head to adjust his ear trumpet in the direction of the red haired man. "Yur lookin fer a mister chata-who-ga?," his hearing was obviously as far gone as his eyes (and attention to personal hygiene), but Ryo's words had caught the notice of someone else in the room. Tucked away in a shadowed corner like a properly menacing villain, his yellow eyes glowed. A grin split the dim and he crooked a finger in Ryo's direction, beckoning 'mister cassanova' to him along with a hushed 'pssssttt..' to get his attention. As for the desk man, well.. it was questionable whether he was even aware that Ryo existed. Dementia and all that. The shady mister's eyes turned even shiftier, glancing about as if he had enemies in every corner, before he withdrew a wrinkled and musty smelling scroll from the inner pocket of his leather vest... which was itself many times patched and probably the source of the smell to begin with. "I got what you came for. Was told yee'd be comin'. Was told I should give it to you right quick like -- along with this," he produced a rucksack from under the table and tossed it to the edge nearest Ryo before laying the scroll atop it. "He said yee'd be needin' 'em both and he'd be needin' yee to hurry, understand? Somethin' bout rainbows and the lake near the edge'a town? I wasn't expectin' no bruiser or nothin but, yer not quite as fancy as I was thinkin. Hope they fit!" He made fairy wings out of his arms to flutter in obvious mocking of the redhaired mage. As for an explanation to his closing comment.. well, Ryo would never get one. The man melted back into the shadows. Literally. Edited by Otaku, Aug 6 2014, 05:28 AM.

Ryo stared at the old crone prepared to let loose a much louder less subtle check in then originally intended. Just has it took in a large breath to bellow forth out into the crones face,he would hear a psst trying to get his attention and draw him to a corner of the tavern. Turning into the direction of the finger wagging him over he would let out a loud belch before walking over the corner , purposely not taking a seat and standing before the man and a small table between the two of them. " Eh? " Ryo would utter quickly before the man would start to explain that he had the stuff he was looking for, tossing out a old scroll that smelled a bit due to the man's gross leather pockets making Ryo slightly thankful for his new clothes as perhaps thats how people had seen him before. He then pushed under the table toward Ryo a rucksack that seemed quite full. " Huh? " Ryo would utter scratching his head as the man explained that he needed to hurry. " Aye haste is half of my expertise.." Ryo would say before the man made some sort of snarky comment about him. " Eh, care to say that again friend " Ryo would say reaching toward the man only to see him melt into the shadows and vanish from the tavern. "tch, I swear every dang one of them shadows are jerks. " Ryo would say picking up the rucksack and slinging it over his shoulder before grabbing the map and heading outside. " A lake near the edge of town eh? " Ryo would mutter glancing around There wasn't exactly any signs in this small village that gave any idea of where a lake would be, so Ryo did the next best thing. He quickly grabbed the first person walking by picked them up off the ground. " Oi I'ma bit lost, mind tellings me where a fella can find the lake near the edge of town eh? " Ryo would say shaking the man a few times before he would point Ryo toward the exactly direction he had entered the town. " right " Ryo said dropping the man with no warning " Figures, thanks for the help pal " Ryo would say walking off towards the lake waving goodbye to the man, Ryo made little effort to make his way to lake that was not far from outside the town, in the same way he had entered..and just hadn't noticed or forgot about it. Despite Ryo's off-color approach to finding the place (what was it with men and being all uppity about asking for directions, politely?!) the lake came into view sometime after the rainbow itself cut across the sky ahead of him - one end completely obscured by fluffy cotton clouds. Rainbows were typically faint things but this one looked.. 3-D and strangely substantial. What's more, a peppering of multicolored candycoated 'raindrops' inscribed with 5s fell from the arch, several of which pelted ryo. The end of the rainbow (or was it the beginning?) was submerged in the middle of the lake, which was.. itself.. overflowing with the same candies that were still coming down like a hail storm. The dyed and sugar coated outsides were melting in the water which had turned the surface of the lake 6 different shades of delicious looking. Several destitute children dressed in rags were dipping make-shift nets in the water to gather up the wondrous candy harvest that came once a year when the heavens opened up and the mysterious rainbow descended. They squealed with joy while their parents wept in relief and big-ass barrels of the candies were filled; apparently people took their rainbows way serious around here. In any case, Ryo would definitely have to wade out into the water to reach the rainbow.. and more so, the guide expressly forbid him from climbing it without first donning the special 'mission uniform' which could be found in the rucksack he'd been given. When Ryo finally found balls enough to open it up he'd find a tutu made of loose, gauzy pink took and a rather tight fitting, spaghetti strap white tanktop with the face of Princess Franny ironed onto the front. Along with it came a pair of ballet flats and a blonde wig; yellow wasn't even in his color pallet, damn it! |

As Ryo arrived at the lake it seemed he wasn't exactly alone as several other people had gathered about with nets and barrels seeming to be collecting what ever in the world was raining down from the rather strange rainbow. It appeared to be unlike any rainbow Ryo had ever seen before, nor had he ever seen one that rained some sort of candy or multicolored droplets. Sighing loudly he was more than ready to just get to it, as he noticed that the rainbow's start was rather deep into the lake. " ofcourse " Ryo said gruffly before opening the rucksack and pulling out the 'uniform' he would pause looking it over for a minute before looking back into the rucksack digging into its emptiness franticly almost in a panic. " That little...." Ryo would say as he slowly took off his jacket with a look of utter disgust on his face. As he changed into the insane uniform for the request, he was only slightly thankful that he at least had franny's face on it making it at least not utterly horrible out of all the things he could have been wearing. " No matter what the job is...we get it done...Right..right! " Ryo would say seeming to be attempting to pump himself up as he stepped towards the lake looking utterly ridiculous. He left his weapons and other clothes hidden inside a tree so he wouldn't be hunkered down carrying everything unneeded for this task, atleast he was pretty sure it was unneeded. All he had was the scroll, and the guide tucked into his tutu as he marched toward the lake with little care or concern as he just wanted to get into the water and towards the rainbow as soon as possible.....since surely he was going to draw attention from everything and everyone in the area with his uniform. Ryo calmly swam out to the rainbow seeming to grumble the whole time till he got to the rainbow it self and started to climb. " THIS. SHALL.BE.WORTH.IT. GALRAMIT!!!!!" summary

Perhaps if the mission requester had been a woman she would have had the good sense to include a pair of tights in the ensemble, as Ryo's leg hair was quite unbecoming for a maiden disguise. The children who had previously been joyously distracted in their harvest took pause, recoiling with heads cocked and brows furrowed, as the red headed man now blonde emerged from the bushes in his.. ah.. special outfit. The mother of one rushed forward to cover the eyes of her kiddo and turn him away from the sight; she might not be able to regularly feed her boy but she'd be goddamned before she exposed him to THOSE kind of shenanigans! Ryo had made the right move in complying with the wishes of the guide, however. At the bottom of the lake slept a creature - a super moe guardian of sorts - that would have gulped him up in one bite if he'd attempted to bring his weapons into the waters and above, into the heavens. As it was the creature was fooled by his guise and paid no mind to the maiden who meant to climb the rainbow bridge; the wishacorns were of course aligned to favor maidens, and welcomed their company above any other. The bridge itself wasn't quite what it seemed.. As soon as Ryo reached to take hold of it he (along with several galons of lake water) were scooped up by a lift not unlike those found at ski resorts.. though it was actually not at all like those, given that this was attached to a rainbow and ascended toward the heavens by magic. The water emptied out of the leg holes of the bucket seat as it broke the waters surface and the air that wizzed past on his quick journey into the celestial realm dried his clothing.. well, mostly. The hair around his nipples and navel were still grossly apparent through the thin white cotton of his shirt, and the way he'd sat with his legs dangling and together made it impossible to air dry his crotch so even after the lift slowed and ultimately emptied him out into the fluffy cloud floor of a glorious meadow.. it still looked like he had peed himself. The meadow itself was a wondrous, magical thing which included a lake of molten ... chocolate? And palm trees upon which giant gummy bears grew. There were no signs of any so called 'wishacorns' as of yet, but a gumdrop hill obscured most of his view... |

Ryo was rather caught off guard as the rainbow started to pick him up and carried him upward into the sky, most likely taking him to whatever magical plane he needed to venture to find something called a wishacorn. As he was dumped off at the top like some sort of roller coaster or ski lift Ryo shook himself off a bit like a some sort of animal trying to get himself dry with the parts the celestial plane didn't seem to care for. Once a bit more dry he would start to survey his surroundings in which to put it bluntly his jaw dropped and his eyes twitched. "wha?.....Where in the thirteen kingdoms have I gotten myself into now? " Ryo would say as he started to walk around the molten pit of chocolate and towards a tree bearing a giant gummy bear. Never in his life had he laid eyes on something so..outlandish and insane looking this plane looked as if all the candy stores of Fiore didn't just dump into here but lived and grew and had lives here! Looking up towards the giant bear Ryo smirked " I bet the wenches back home would love'em one of these " Ryo would comment with a smirk before walking passed the tree and onto...a gumdrop hill? As Ryo stepped onto the hill it sort of made him pause as he foot sort of bounced on it like something rubber. " hm.. " He would utter before pushing his foot against the hill once more seeing it slightly stick to it this time. With that test out of the way Ryo carefully stomped his way up to the top of the gum drop hill where he hoped he would catch at least a glimpse of what ever a wishacorn was, or maybe some sort of guide to help him in this freaked out mess! And there they were, white like angels raiments - more majestic than any creature of fantasy. Wishacorns. A trio of them pranced around the trickle of the lake's runoff, chasing one another and kicking up cloud dust underfoot. They were glorious! Sleek, with long limbs and supple bodies, their manes and tails both colored in several pastel hues Though they different in colors there was uniformity found on the rump of each, where a spritz of glittery 'galaxy-like' coloring dappled their otherwise immaculately white fur! But.. there was something strange about this place. Ryo himself -who was already as common as a rock in the presence of such creatures- was made even less impressive by the perfumed atmosphere. It smelled like warm vanilla, like melted sugar, and it sapped the vitality from his body.. rendering him as weak as.. as.. well, any other average human. (10/10/(your own stamina)/10/0)! If he meant to use magic, he'd be sorely surprised; the human manifestation of the arcane had no place in the realm of such divine creatures as these! The mortal concept of it was too paltry to function in the heavens, and Ryo's was completely snuffed out. It would seem that one of the wishacorns had taken notice of him, however. An amiable and curious little colt only a few years out of the womb gave a welcoming whinny and kicked up its forelegs in acknowledgment of the 'maiden' as the other wishacorns likewise swiveled their heads in his direction. Now, what did that guide say...

As Ryo reached the top of the gumdrop hill with some trouble despite his sure fire stomping for surefootedness what he laid his eyes on next surely was by far more wondrous and stupendous than what he had been greeted with upon his arrival to this strange place. Before him on the small trickle run off of a lake were three strange never before seen creatures to Ryo. A horse like creature with vibrant coloring and ample silky fur only to be darted with what seemed to be some sort of glittery coloring that could only be explained by Ryo as what the night sky looked like on a clear and open night. While be awe struck and quite unsure of what he was beholding he would be brought to his sense as he caught a smell of vanilla and melted sugar. Looking back to see if it was coming down from the molten chocolate pond Ryo quickly felt a change in his body. He felt his eyesight go a bit, his strength greatly fade, and the swiftness of his actions fade away. The most alarming things that had change inside him was the fact he felt like he had no magic! As if he couldn't draw on his magical energy or fire what so ever, this was quite alarming since his Wyvern blood normally allowed him some allowance of magical energies, but not here it seemed, perhaps magical creatures like the Wyvern were forbidden here and that was why his body was so sapped, the realm acting out against him sensing the carnage in his blood. Taking a breath and accepting that nothing was going to change he matter now he would hear a loud whinny toward him, as he turned he noticed the young wishacorn kicking up its legs while the other two rustled and waves their heads in his directions. " Uh right soo.." Ryo would utter as he quickly pulled forth the guide and opened it.
Ryo read it slowly and carefully making sure not to misinterpret the words in the guide as it was pretty hard to read even in Fiorian. As he finished reading step four however he would slowly glance up from the book toward where the wishacorns were " I gotta do what now " Ryo would say before re-reading the passage many many times. Ryo - 1SP & 200,000 Jewels Interestingly enough, the narrative was well underway, but the thread had unfortunately stopped. Ryo’s posts of above average quality but was rather interesting and humorous at some point. |
