Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

A single vine wrapped itself around Desire's waist, as she suddenly swooned, not having recovered entirely from the effect of the magic bullet that had hit her in the forehead. She shook her head, in order to bring a little more clarity to her vision, and then noticed that the two Fairy Tail mages seemed to be just standing there, watching her. Were they waiting for something? A trap, perhaps? Whichever the case, nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary, but one couldn't be too careful.

All of a sudden, Desire turned her head upwards, and if anyone followed her gaze, they would see a figure in a red hooded cloak, standing on a building, looking down at the group of squabblers. Then he threw a stone to which was attached a note, at Desire. This she managed to catch, and opened the paper to read the contents inside. A slight frown creased her brow, but by the time she looked up, the stranger was gone. Desire tore the note into little pieces and threw the pieces into the air, as the vines on the tree suddenly shot outwards, seeking to snag and ensnare the Fairy Tail mages.

Time was not on her side, but fortunately, it seemed luck was. The contents of the note revealed that most of the Fairy Tail mages were out of town on one business or another due to serendipitous but unknown facts. So essentially, the guild hall was more or less almost empty. If she could just get the pesky mages before her out of the way....

Brian had agreed to her plan, and so now, the best thing to do would be to look for the best way to make an escape route when the plan was in motion. As Cleia glanced here and there, while still trying to keep an eye on Pinkie, she suddenly noticed Pinkie look up, as though someone had called her. Following Pinkie's gaze upwards, she found herself looking at a mysterious figure, clad in a red hood. He (most likely) dropped a note to Pinkie, who destroyed it on reading its contents. As she did so, the tree made its move.

Cleia made a bolt for it, seeking to avoid the vines as she still stayed at the edge of its attack range. There was something she was looking for on the ground, that if found, would make the plan flow much more smoothly. As she ran, she called over her shoulder, "Stick with me, sir!" to Brian. If they were separated, it might become harder to escape the tree, as one of them might have to get to the other person's location, and of course, fight through vines and branches.

She wondered what Red Riding Hood had given to Pinkie, as she drew to a halt and turned to face Desire. Runes began swirling around her body as she held her hands upwards and outwards. It looked like she was planning an attack, but this was actually a big ruse: you see, Cleia had found what she had sought, and that was a man-hole. From its looks, it was still undamaged by roots, meaning that it was more or less intact. She turned her head to look at Brian, so that one eye would be hidden from Pinkie.

"I'm taking her down with this shot! Cover me!" she almost yelled, like she was at the point of doing something incredibly important and dangerous. Then she winked at Brian, to convey the message that she was bluffing. Hopefully, the tree would act on her words and hasten its attack, so as to trap her before she succeeded. That was hopefully part of the plan.

"This is where you take the bait, creepy..."

The cooldown for Brian's simple shot was not yet complete. He would have to keep his guard up and continue his initial tactic of evasion of whatever attacks Dersire was going to throw at him. Then he watched events unfold with Desire. He noticed how dizzy she looked when she stood up. Brian only knew that his simple shot spell was about as powerful as a hard punch. He didn't know that it would have effected Desire in such a way. If that's the case then physically she was a little on the weak side.

He pushed the observation aside when he saw her looking towards something beyond him and Cleia. He too saw the figure cloaked in red. He also watched him throw a stone with a note attached to it. Moments after Desire read it, she tore it up and let it fall to the ground.

Brian looked to Cleia hoping that she had something up her sleeves. Just then the tree had made it's move. A couple of the branches tried to make a grab for Brian. After quickly holstering his gun, he managed to duck to the left and roll forward out of their way. His gaze went to Cleia who had managed to move away from the edge of the tree's attack. She called out to him that he should stick with him.

Needing no further encouragement, Brian dashed from where he was crouching to where Cleia was. Closing the distance gap between them he saw how she had looked upon a manhole cover. What was her plan?

She told Brian that she was going to take her down with this shot and that he should cover him.

Brian thought that Cleia was going to attack the tree from below. Thinking on that, he took out his gun knowing that he was still in the middle of his cooldown for his one spell. But he decided to bluff his readiness and took aim at whatever was going to come at them.

"Your scurrying about will do you no good," Desire called out to the two mages as they dodged about and avoided the tree's branches and vines. The gnome lady was telling Brian to stick with her, which meant a plan was afoot; she was definitely up to something. Whichever the case, Desire was not keen on waiting for the duo to cook up whatever nasty little invention they were coming up with.

The gnome lady then called out to Brian that she was about to conclude the battle, which sounded like a very bad idea to Desire. She could not afford to fail. She wouldn't allow it. The tree, apparently sensing her desperation, began to extend its vines as far as it could, in the hopes of catching them at all costs. At the same time, creaking sounds could be heard, as bark split and hard, woody branches rose to attempt to form a sort of defense against whatever the gnome granny wanted to do. In the meantime, Desire was beginning to attempt thinking, something she only bothered to do when the odds didn't seem to be in her favor.

"It seems the gnome granny has at least three different uses to which she puts her odd script magic thing to use..." the half-demon girl thought as she squinted at the pair. "Brian doesn't seem to be too much of a problem; he seems like a one-trick pony, with that nasty shot of his, but I can't be too sure... he may have something else up his sleeve. If he doesn't, now's the best time to snag the pair."

The vines by now were attempting to catch Cleia and Brian from all sides, although it was hard for the tree, since the two mages were at the edge of its attack range. But it could grow, and it was putting all its energies into making longer vines. Some of the vines would approach directly, others would attempt to slither round and approach from the back.

The tree seemed to be exerting itself, as loud cracking sounds could be heard coming from it. Cleia also noticed that the tree could actually extend its vines longer than normal if it tried... and it was really trying hard. Since she had said that she wanted to do something decisive, it would be a bit redundant if she just stayed her hand and waited for the tree to ensnare Brian and herself. Also, Pinkie might start to suspect that she was up to something else, and it would be harder to trick her.

She clapped both hands together and pointed her fingers towards Pinkie. As she separated her hands, a ball of runes could be seen sitting there. It then lifted itself into the air, unraveled a bit slowly, then burst into a wave of energy that sizzled towards Desire. Of course, it was almost certain that the tree would manage to block the blast and incur minimal damage, but then, that was the plan.

The real plot consisted of the bunch of runes that stayed low to the ground, orbiting Brian and Cleia. At their position, they would be hardly seen by Pinkie, and by this time, the tree's vines would have totally surrounded the two mages. That would likely make Pinkie more confident, and from the way the vines were coming in, Cleia was sure that the tree intended to smother them with its sheer number of creepy limbs. And since vines were coming from all directions, it was not likely that the monster tree would try to drag them towards its trunk.

Cleia did not yet smirk. She would only applaud herself when the plan was successful. For now, she mentally encouraged the tree to try to restrict them at that point...

Brian could feel that the cooldown of his spell was over and he was ready to take another shot. When he saw the vines of the demon tree coming at him he took aim and was ready to use his Simple Shot again but Cleia had already taken care of it with a spell of hers.

He watched her clap her hands together with her fingers pointed toward Desire. When she pulled apart her hands from it's closed position, a ball of runes were spinning, turning and bouncing within a ball. The ball then lifted itself into the air and unraveled like someone pulling a string and unraveling a knitted scarf. Then a great burst of energy shot out towards Desire, sizzling everything in it's path.

Brian wasn't sure if Cleia's plan was to hit Desire or to take care of the vines that were coming towards them. Whatever it was, he still felt so powerless because he had his one spell and it had such a limited range and limited amount of power.

He thought to himself, "If I make it through this, I've got to add another spell to my list."

All the while, Brian failed to notice the runes that were hovering close to the ground and encircling both himself and Cleia.

Desire saw as the gnome granny created her spinning ball-blast-thing, and frowned. She had seen that trick before, so either the rune ball had a new and undisclosed quality, or there was something else that Desire was missing. The only issue was that if she wanted to keep her eyes on Gnome Granny to see if the diminutive mage had any tricks up her sleeves, Desire would most likely have a face full of exploding-ball-rune-destroy-thing. And that didn't sound nice.

As the blue-white blast roared towards the half-demon girl, she took a jump backwards, even as the firm woody branches around her intertwined before her to form a rough shield of sorts. There was a loud smashing sound, as bits of wood and sawdust flew about Desire when the blast impacted the tree's rough defense, but left the pink-haired girl otherwise undamaged. She landed on a lower branch, and flipped to the ground, turning to where the Fairy Tail mages were.

If the mages didn't move, or attempt something, the slithering vines would wrap them up completely, as the vines were coming now in larger masses, seeking to wrap up the mages. It seemed they hadn't moved; from the rapidly closing spaces between the serpentine vines, Desire could make out the pair still trapped within the vines. She however failed to notice the runes circling at the feet of the two mages. Praying that neither of the two could teleport, Desire began walking towards the forming mass of vines.

Her Jinrai blast had taken care of some of the vines, but by this time, many more had encircled them, and were coming in fast. But she did not activate the next step of her plan, until the vines were just about grasping their ankles. Once that was happening, the runes that hovered at ground level suddenly were activated, glowing fiercely with the hue of a setting sun, as they projected an energy barrier that would serve to cover a small area, and keep Brian and Cleia from being plant mummified. She made the battier rather small, so that it would not be difficult for the vines to wrap around it completely, and her hope was that the tree would keep wrapping vines around and around in the hopes of breaking the shield open. Fortunately, the thicker, heavier branches of the tree would not be capable of drawing close enough to smash her shield to smithereens.

By now, the vines would be wrapping around the small shield in which Brian and herself would have crouched, and through the slithering vines, Cleia noticed Pinkie descend and begin to approach them. Apprehension rested on Cleia like a weight. If Pinkie came over and attacked the shield, it would break after some relentless strikes, and then the vines would come in and ruin everything...

There was some hope, though. Since the tree was intently trying to restrain them, then perhaps Pinkie would allow the vines to totally engulf the shield. That would keep them pinned down to that spot, allowing Pinkie to go to their guild hall and pillage it. Thus, Pinkie would not likely try to stop the vines from doing their work, or even try to break through the shield, as they might post an offensive against her. She would just walk away and leave them be...

Hopefully...

Brian hated being attacked into a corner. Whenever he and his wife had played certain games growing up, she often had him backed into a corner with no visible way out. It was just like that time. The shield that Cleia had erected around them was so small that Brian had to inch his way towards the girl and crouch down. He imagined that she had very little magic power left and thus the reason why the shield was so small.

Then a very palpable sensation of claustrophobia had overcome him when the branches of the tree monster had begun to wrap itself around them. It made him think that he was trapped inside a marble and some gargantuan child was wrapping its thick digits around them. Each wooden tendril snaking its way around them make his skin crawl as their texture was very much like octopus tentacles or hundreds of snakes.

Brian reached over and tapped Cleia on the shoulder and pointed to his gun. He wanted to take another shot but he wasn't sure if the shot would disrupt the shield or not. He also didn't know if the shot would do any good but it was at least something as opposed to just sitting there and being choked to death by this small army of wooden boa constrictors.

Desire noticed that the gnome lady had put up a shield to defend Brian and herself from the vines. Well, Desire assumed that the shield was gnome-girl's work, because she didn't think Brian had that kind of magic. Whatever the case, the shield would be useless, based on the fact that over time, the vines would end up overpowering the barrier, and getting to the two Fairy Tail mages trapped within the barrier. "How lucky I am!" the half-demon girl thought as she walked up to the thick mass of vines that had by now just obscured every single area of the shield.

"I don't know how long you guys plan on staying in there," she said, "but it works just grand for me. I'd have loved to stay and chat and all, but I'm running a tight schedule here... ah well, seems like things are tight for all of us, one way or another." She gave a short, silvery laugh. "Don't worry, if you don't struggle too much, I don't think the tree will hurt you... much. Ta-ta!"

So saying, the half-demon sauntered off, leaving the two Fairy Tail guild members in the self-made prison. She would have to utilize the time and fortune she had, for Luck never granted people an opportunity twice.
