A Whisper In the Shadows (Ragnarok)
Prologue: Dark Awakening Prologue: Dark Awakening
The land of Fiore is a magical place as some would call it. Ironic enough, this statement is true. In this great land, many people and creatures have learned to use a special art, known as Magic. This wonderful gift from belief allows one to do unimaginable things in their lives. Whether it be simply making plants grow or manipulating smoke or even controlling gravity by a simple wave of a hand, these and many other powers are possible with the gift from the heavens, known as magic.
When many people have learned this magnificent skill, an order called the Magic Council had been created to create balance in Fiore. Of course, to prevent magic from being used was only a path to war. So as such, great places for Mages to gather, learn and be together had been created. These places were called Guilds, and they helped Mages from all over the world to grow and understand their magic powers much simpler without falling down the path towards the darkness.
Of course to prevent evil was impossible, whether allowing or not allowing Magic to be used freely. Dark Guilds and Dark Mages have made their way into the world of Fiore as well. Light and Darkness were two sides of the same coin, one cannot exist with out the other. But as some would say, balance was all some could wish for and in most cases much of it was granted.
But lately, mysterious disappearings and special requests have been appearing in the shadows. Some were of stealing a special stone and others were assassinations of retired lawmen. But all of these were done almost all in order to support the group that kept their ambitions secret. This group that still has not arose to the spotlight of Fiore, was known as Ragnarok.
The Council have become much more cautious of what was happening in places they did not know. The Guilds of Light has become more worried of what was happening lately as well. No one was safe as it would seem and not a single person truly knew why. Something big was going to happen, something in the shadows where only whispers could be heard. For those who are scared of the dark should hide, but for those who wish to continue their way of living... they must stand in the darkness together and find the truth behind everything.
Chapter One: Capture Freedom Shadows that hid behind anything to avoid the light. That was the natural law that our planet has developed. In the absence of light, darkness makes its way to spread with out falter. There was no way to limit the shadows, but all we can do is rely on the light to return and push the shadows back to where they belong everyday of our lives.
In a sense that has happened during these recent times since a unknown forced called Ragnarok has revealed itself. As instead of different missions that attacked or stole from people, their actions had become far more organized. Their actions had become solely targeting different people in order to kidnap them. For what reasons no one knew why but the heinous acts was still committed. But this time not only by hired Dark Mages, but even a few men from Ragnarok themselves.
But the Magic Council wasn't going to stand for it no longer. As they needed to end this before it grew any bigger they had either sent out Light Mages or word of Ragnaroks activities in order to encourage good men and women to fight back. This had become rather effective as many Light Mages have made their stands against both Dark Mages who employed themselves to Ragnarok and their Agents themselves.
The Dark Mage that stood out most as he made his way taking the freedom of others despite his past was Ryo Hasaki of Tartaros. His flames burned with a passion as he cut down all his foes as this great Fire Swordsman had much power backing himself up. But there was one foe he could not cut down, one that stopped him from kidnapping and putting them into a stalemate. That Mage was Dycho Starr of Fairy Tail who also stood out in the Light Mages as he also had faced many Mage's who he had stopped protecting the innocence with his Gravity Magic and tactical thinking. But Dycho also did not defeat the powerful swordsman with out a cost...
Other Fairy Tail Mages such as Toshiro Togashi who battled a Agent of Ragnarok itself and was able to survive the encounter and forced him back. Noel Aramis had also faced a Agent as well, but their battle had ended with both almost dead in the end. While being a savor himself, Noel had himself been saved by Lune Crinis in the end. Ironically Lune and another Guildless Mage Janie Malouier had both fought for the side of good and managed to prevent a life from having their freedom stricken.
Many Light and Dark Mages had made their stand or assault in their own ways. Some succeeded and some did not, but in the end Ragnarok had made another statement to the world. Still hiding in the shadows, they remain plotting their next move. Weather the Light can hold its ground against the shadows of Darkness again the next time only time could tell...
Chapter Two: Plunging Into Darkness When those who stand in the light become comfortable in such brightness they feel safe. But when you take that away, and throw them into darkness and leave them alone there. They begin to panic, even to the point that a grasshopper playing its tune was mind snapping. Some would either go mad, while others would accept it. Those who accepted it, they themselves shoved others into the darkness. Ragnarok desired the ability to take the light away from those who were comfortable in said place and not only watch them suffer, but take what they wanted from them as well. Two Towers had suddenly been located and rumors went around that they were the place that the Civilians and Mages who had been captured and sent to. The reason why was unknown except for speculations but nothing couldn't be done. As such many Light Mage's had gathered forces and split up into two divisions. These two towers were not near each other as they had no choice as they couldn't risk using full force in order to save one tower to risk the other being moved or stricken of its inhabitants as to avoid them. But as these Mages moved out, so were the Dark Mages along with new ones had been added to the roster in order to help prevent them. Rök Tower, was the tower that many of the Light Mages went to in order to enter through the only entrance there was. It seemed that this place was riddled with traps and Agents of Ragnarok. While Ragna Tower had to enter through portals of four colors. Each had a leader who were an Agent of the shadow organization Ragnarok. But in this place, the Dark Mages that had been employed before were there as well. They were not physical though as they were only mere projections...but they were still dangerous none the less as they couldn't receive physical harm. Only a small report has been received about the happenings of both towers. Weather vague or not descriptive it was far better then none... Rok Tower The group of light mages assembled at the main gates, and then entered the first hall, where there was a certain message waiting for them, with a warning that had to do something with what was yet to come in the next rooms. Ari accidentally pulled a lever that was hidden in one corner of the room, making the message change, as well as something changing in the rooms ahead.
Warily, the group moved into the next room, which happened to be entirely dark with only a few patches of light covering the floor. The message in the first room, which urged them to follow the light, was actually the exact opposite of what they had to do. The skull next to the message was a clue to tell them that the message would deceive them if they followed it. Mr. Vinkheart was the first one to step on the light, and he was quickly wrapped by a rope and pulled across the room until he was scraped by poisonous spikes that reduced his speed and strength.
The others were then wary enough to move through the darkness, some of them trying to save Mr. Vinkheart from the grip of the rope, but it appeared to be magical and didn't give in even when quite a few of the light mages tried to save him. Finally, he managed to free himself and all of them moved into the next room.
There, they encountered a room full of sand, in the middle of which stood a Sand mage. Throughout the fight with the Sand mage, he managed to pull a few of the group members deeper into the sand with quicksand and then make them unable to move by turning it into stone. The rest of the group fought him, and finally Noel and Buster managed to defeat him with the help of the rest. Then, they went to save the rest of the group from the hardened sand, until they were finally able to move on... Ragna Tower Upon assembling in the first hall of the Ragna tower, the doors closed behind the group of light mages and knights, four differently colored portals appearing in the room. The group was forced to split into four groups of two people, and enter the portals.
In the Red Portal, Nyke and Zack found themselves in a room with a volcano in the middle and lava slowly moving around below the pillars that were sticking up in the center of the room. Moving over the pillars in the direction of the volcano where the Lava mage stood, they were stopped every now and then by the said mage and some other dark mages that came to stop them. Finally, Nyke managed to reach the Lava mage and defeat him in closer combat with a great help of her item, the Saten's Gauntlet, and her skills. Grabbing the key that fell on the floor from the defeated mage and going to retrieve Zack, the two of them moved forwards into the next room..
In the Green Portal, Toshiro and Mizumi were thrown into a forest-like environment with lots of dangerous trees and plants just preying to engulf them. From one of the trees, three mages began to attack them from afar, the boss of the room being a Plant mage, who seemed to have an ability of regenerating all of the plants and trees that Toshiro managed to cut. Throughout the battle, Zoya defeated Mizumi by hitting her with her arrows, leaving Toshiro alone against three mages. He was mostly concentrating on the Plant mage, who seemed to put a good fight against him by blocking all of his attacks, but since the rest of the portal bosses lost at that moment, she would disappear and leave Toshiro with a chance to move on..
In the Yellow Portal, Larkin and Tyveris ended in a room full of flying spikes that were moving randomly inside the room. At the other side of the room, a Weather mage expected them, creating a storm of spikes, which they had a tough chance of dodging. Still, with their combined power, they blocked the spikes that were falling in their direction, and proceeded to move towards her. Seeing them moving closer, she stopped the storm and used her ultimate drought technique that made the ground crackle and open up beneath all of their feet. Tyveris, who had dashed forwards in her direction, and Alice, a support dark mage, fell into the pit, but managed to grab onto one of the vines in the ground. Meanwhile, Larkin used his sword, Silfarion to propel himself over the gap and injure the Weather mage. Then, she grabbed him and started to freeze him, but was suddenly stopped when Tyveris managed to get out of the pit and came behind her, stabbing her. Once she disappeared, the two of them got the key and proceeded into the next room..
In the Blue Portal, Ericka and Aiden found themselves in a room covered with snow, and a Snow castle at the other end of it. From there, the Snow mage sent a number of snowmen in their direction, which they began to fight. Once they realized the snowmen re-appeared once beaten, they moved forwards, reaching a hill in front of the castle. Since they couldn't get over the clearing in between because there were snow-cannons firing over it all the time, they used a shield to skate down the hill and jump over the clearing. While they were in the air, one of the dark mages, Bazett, used her technique to summon thousand swords, exploding in all directions. The technique managed to harm both of them, Aiden more severely than Ericka, but it also caused the castle walls and the snow-cannons to be destroyed. Moving forwards, Ericka and Aiden managed to get to the Snow mage.. Some had fell, and some had moved forward. This was what the Magic Council had hoped for. But what was awaiting on the other sides of these portals in Ragna Tower. What was installed in the rest of the tower in Rök Tower that proved to be deadly with traps? More then anything the likelihood of them surviving was little to none...but Magic was created out of Belief, and it is with that word that the light hoped to prevail when showed in shadows of Ragnarok.
Chapter Three: The Tower Depths With the advent of the Ragnarok incident, many kidnappings and items were stolen. The exact reasons for all this was quite unclear. The Ragnarok organization's true motives, their numbers, and their true fighting strength were all mostly uncertainties. However, it was obvious that they could not be allowed to do as they pleased. Some kidnappings and robberies/burglaries (there is a difference, y'know) were stopped, but still some made it through. After a few months a counter-offensive was finally initiated. A group of hired mages, volunteers, and knights were sent to two key locations - Rok Tower and Ragna Tower. Some planning was done through the joint-efforts of the participants in the offensive, however one couldn't account for every possibility. In a way, the two towers were both unexpected and expected. Still, after hard fighting, the side fighting against Ragnarok needed assistance after they managed to get past the initial defenses. Reinforcements were sent after the initial attack in order to aid those still fighting and to replace the injured or otherwise incapacitated. In the aftermath of the first engagement into Rok and Ragna tower many had fallen at the hand of the mages and monsters of Ragnarok, but many others had managed to push through. Now was the time to peservere and keep moving onward, both valiantly and bravely. Reinforcements were brought in as mage and knight alike worked together, brothers and sisters in arms, to rescue those who were taken by the organization as well as to put a stop to their actions, and then ultimately crush them under heel before bringing them to justice. The coalition forces had indeed managed to break through the initial defenses set up by Ragnarok, however with reinforcements power in to replace the fallen and injured they seemed to have a good chance. Despite this, they would encounter numerous difficulties as they struggled to conquer the obstacles set out before them. In the absence of light, the creeping shadows have begun to emerge elsewhere in Fiore. Numerous Dark Mages have been begun working alongside Ragnarok, receiving various orders to assault and attack key light mage fortifications and locations while the bulk of the coalition forces were centered around breaking through the Rok and Ragna towers. These dark individuals would be able to wreak considerable and perhaps indiscriminate havoc thanks to their new orders as well as their own abilities. Ragna Tower Entering into one wing of the notoriously dangerous Ragna Tower set up by Ragnarok, an association of dark mages most foul, Zeke Miles, Simmons Harmon, and Luong bravely enter the fray. Danger lurked in every corner waiting to pounce on these would-be heroes. Quickly, they were met with an enemy who wielded a staff most magical who posed a worthy challenge. After a brief battle, they soon found themselves in a wall of pure whiteness, where their enemy sought to subject them to a fate not too different from being mere puppets. A horrible spider demon lurked in this room, battling the trio in the open. However, she soon fades from the fight, claiming that the three are the invaders, but also that she keeps no hostages in this tower. Things rapidly took a turn for the strange and bizarre as they encounter a strange "little girl", and forces the trio to partake in a series of uncanny and disturbing challenges. But, in the end it was mostly for naught, as they failed to rescue anyone here, and were forced simply to progress further into the tower in the hopes that they could find someone who needed their help.
Formally known as the 6th Rescue Group of the Alliance of Light Mages (which consisted of Larkin, Sora, Morgan, Jason, and Tekka), their mission was simple: enter and infiltrate the Ragna Tower, rescue any captured civilians and hostages, and gather any available intel on the Ragnarok organization. Larkin, as the most experienced mage, served as the leader of the group. Together, they entered into the darkness of the tower, lighting the way through Sora's Fire Dragon Slayer magic and the light from Larkin's sword. Numerous enemies appeared before them, the first major encounter consisting of doppelgangers of themselves. Using teamwork, they successfully get past the doppelgangers and enter into the door ahead of them. They were besieged by an enemy most foul: animals so cute that they couldn't help but pet them, enough so that it physically and mentally pained them. The animals quickly grew feral, and eventually hostile, joined by enormous monsters. Held down by a combination of pride and foolish mistakes, Jason and Morgan were ripped to pieces and crushes by the monsters. But, with their sacrifice, Larkin and Sora managed to charge ahead. Having defeated their opponents, they were whisked away to safety, but they had not managed to rescue anyone.
Charging into the fray, a team consisting Ericka, Cecil, Jessica, Aria, and led by Aiden storm into the Ragna Tower. They are initially met by a group of Ragnarok dark mages, led by a pyromancer named Tim. They defeat him but not without consequence as Tim incinerates his own allies. Though, Jessica finds a small silver key in the ashes of Tim's remains. Using the key, Aiden opened a huge metal door, revealing a long expansive corridor. As they travel along, they converse amongst themselves, getting to know each other. As they reach the end of the corridor, they pick up the scent of something quite soothing, which is later revealed to be plates of cookies and glasses of milk. The soothing smell gradually became replaced with a painful change in ambiance as a loud, intense, and hurtful music could be heard, all before they eventually come across the gigantic beast known as a Behemoth. Struggling, Lorn and Sachio quickly arrive as reinforcements, and together the group slay the Behemoth and rescue the hostages.
An expeditionary force consisting of: the powerful smoke mage Toshiro, a mage who utilizes the versatility of modular lacrima devices named Sami, an air mage named Todomi, a tough knight named Ecclair, and a dream mage named Alex, enter the Ragna Tower to rescue the hostages and defeat Ragnarok. Taking leadership of the group, Toshiro suggests that they split themselves up into teams of two which consist of a ranged attacker and a melee fighter to support and protect them. Each of these two man teams are met with two Dark Mages to fight. Fighting valiantly, they manage to defeat them but not without consequence. Todomi was knocked unconscious and wounded, prompting Sami to carry Todomi off to safety. Alex was also wounded, but the group was soon reinforced by Angelo, a Knight. They advance forward, making their way through the tower, but soon they are taken control by brain slugs, forcing them to fight one another. Angelo manages to free Ecclair with a clever gambit, allowing them to move forward once more and free the hostages in the tower. Rok Tower A group consisting of skilled and powerful mages had arrived within Rok tower, determined to further infiltrate the Dark Mage lair. With it's group consisting of mages like Natalie, Dracnis, Cane, Nefiria, and Ixzel, this impressive line-up was sure to make an impact within the tower's corridors which they had been ordered to navigate. However, with minimal info and intel a challenge was surely set out before them. As the party of mages began to travel the torches would begun to go out, making the area become darker and darker the deeper they traveled through the tower. They would eventually come across a grand arena, where they would have no choice but to participate as the champions. A rhyming, toga-wearing maniac had released a group of terrifying purple lions to take them out. However, through handy team work, finesse, and magical power they managed to fend them off before Nefiria could find the power source. However, he was subsequently mangled, but not before the strange Caesar had resurrected him courtesy of the spectral audience's raging cheers for their champion. After the defeat of the lions, a fierce chimera was released but they had managed to defeat it and earned their freedom and an opportunity to take a breather.
A second group featuring Koujirou, Lune, Kazuhiko, Yuurei, and Renji was assembled to help make the push into another area of the large Rok tower. Determined not to become more casualties in the battle, they pushed onward and eventually encountered a dungeon-like room where they encountered a man on a tall platform who referred to himself as "King" before summoning up his henchmen, some of which who had mushroom caps and the others featured turtle-like helmets and armor. As King himself was threatened, he had quickly transformed into a huge spiked turtle and breathed copious amounts of fire at his enemies. Lune had very nearly cut the King's head off, however a narrow miss caused him to lash out, and as he breathed fire he was kicked in the head. This resulting in a cataclysmic event in the room, causing everyone to be knocked away as the platforms would begin to crumble. Despite this, they had all survived, even King who continued the action-packed battle. After his defeat, they come across a trap with armored knights lobbing turtle shells of various colors around. But, with some clever thinking they managed to turn their own weapons around on them and defeated the animated knight armor all before revealing the entrance to the next area of the tower.
A group of Noel, Dexter, Nova, Da'Than, and Leo moved far into the Rok Tower to save some more prisoners. Noel seemed to immediately take the vanguard, leading with considerable authority and experience against the Ragnarok forces. Attempts at scouting with Buster seemed to fail, as some sort of strange incident occurred, requiring the mages to move onward essentially blind. However, as they walked through a door a intruder response program was set off and they had 10 seconds to either disarm or break through. Dycho, Drake, and Blitz would later jump into the fray as well to help out their allies, though they were unaware of the situation inside the trapped room. The trapped mages would soon find out that pressing the button in the room resulted in resetting the countdown timer. The difficulty would be amped up as the only light source in the room had gone out. Ultimately, the group decided to see what would happen when the counter reached zero, uncertain of what possible outcome it would bring. The room would soon disappear and they would be able to keep going on before playing a twisted game of Truth and Dare which resulted in Noel getting injured, as well as Buster's temporary capture.
Hiryu, Jacob, Nana, Katherine, and Alastor were hand picked to go head-to-head against Ragnarok's deadly Rok Tower along with a few other groups. Immediately, they would be pit up against a group of armed Ragnarok soldiers. Individually, they were weaker but their numbers were far superior. Strategy and teamwork were essentially to bringing down this zerg rush attack. After defeating the soldier squad, they had traveled into a corridor where a familiar sound rang out, becoming louder and louder as they moved deeper within. They would soon find themselves situated in a royal dance hall with a strange, small girl mocking them. The halls of the chamber rumbled before moving inward, attempting to squash our heroic mages. While initially unknown, she actually turned out to help them quite a bit and even healed their wounds slightly before vanishing. Then, in the distance the sound of shuffling zombies performing a well-choreographed dance routine was clearly audible. The mages eventually decided to attack the zombies, which were quickly decimated thanks to the teamwork of Nana, Alastor, and Katherine. As the Ragnarok continued their activities, they had hired the help of various Dark Mages to assault three major Light Mage fortifications in order to keep them busy, buying Ragnarok time. Lamia Scale Bunker The group of Dark Mages, consisting of Tormoru, Natasha, Noire, Akira, Ayzel, Kan, and Sion, arrived at the border of the Lamia Scale bunker, greeting each other politely and calmly. They all ventured into the strange and eccentric bunker. The bunker itself was loaded with oddities, such as way too much cling wrap and strange structures which served as puzzles. The team had not progressed far, but they had nonetheless bought Ragnarok some precious time by distracting the Lamia Scale mages. Fairy Tail Fort A small team of three mages arrived at the border of the Fairy Tail Fort seeking to do as much damage as possible. The team consisted of: The Librarian, a powerful summoner, Eric Bashere who is a notorious mage, and Victoria DeBone who wielded the power of water at her beck and call. The team had their instructions at a dead drop: take down the watchtowers at the fort and distract the enemy. Provided with explosives, they were ready to do some damage. Before this, they managed to capture a Fairy Tail mage, who summoned a trio of bears to defend himself prior to his capture, and extracted some useful information from him. Using this information, they learn how to take out the barriers around the fort. Though, the Fairy Tail mages employ Team Jurassic -- a team of mages who have dinosaur-based magic. Breaking through, they defeat the team and deal a massive amount of damage to the fort. Fairy Tail mages showed up as reinforcements, but doing so translated to success for the Dark Mages who simply needed to distract the guild. Blue Pegasus Mountain Manor Teaming up together, a pair of Tartaros mages wreak havoc on the Blue Pegasus Mountain Manor. Ryo and Soul ambush some mages at the manor, fighting against a pair of knights. Later, they find enemies in a special team of five mages. However, they deal with them readily, setting much of the manor on fire in the process. With the manor collapsing, one of the mages teleported everyone away. Meanwhile, knights arrived to reinforce the Blue Pegasus mages, meaning the Tartaros mages were successful in creating a distraction for Ragnarok.
Chapter 4: The Last Dream It began as Light Mages found themselves in towers once more. The Ragna and Rök Towers had both been overcome in the past, Towers that had been full of traps and woes and horrors. But the Light Mages had persisted, had made their way further and further upwards to the peaks of their respective towers that they thought were miles and miles apart. They were on a mission to rescue those kidnapped, though nobody knew now who those had been. All that was known was that people, powerful people, were in danger and their loss would be a grievous blow to Fiore. Especially after the recent war had torn their homes asunder, another loss so soon would be too much to handle, maybe enough to break the country completely. The Light Mages were not alone either, some Dark Mages had joined their plight, those who had seen the error of their ways and turned to aid them - though most had not. As the Light Mages and their allies reached the tops of their respective towers through large open staircases, free of traps or enemies and with enormous metal doors at the end they burst outwards into a courtyard of all things, a courtyard that seemed to be at the top of a single tower with two entrances, one on either side. But that was impossible surely? The Ragna and Rök Towers had been seperated by miles and miles, they could not have both ended up in the same place, right? But they had, both groups who had climbed their towers -as well as other mages, Light and Neutral who had not been there before- had reached the same point, a large open courtyard, a half-moon in shape with the Light Mages standing now on the curvature where they had entered from, and an army arrayed before them. On the straight of the half-moon was a rising stairway once more, only a few dozen steps though, to a large square courtyard on which stood nine hooded figures, each one cloaked completely and hidden from view. But between the Light Mages and these nine were Dark Mages; all of the men and women who had agreed to help the plans of this organisation, who waited for them now on the steps to fight to defend to the last this plan they did not wholly understand. Or even fully know. For they had agreed on contracts to fight for the Ragnarok, they had agreed that whatever plans were underway they would fight until the end or until the contract was complete or broken. The Dark Mages would not waver in their dedication, those who had would be the last to die and they would die slowly. For the Ragnarok did not appreciate disloyalty. The nine figures stood, facing out towards the Light Mages and they remained cloaked and hidden, all except for one who strode forward to the top of the stairs, a thick barrier around the figure protecting them from any attacks launched, though none came. Of all of the figures this one stood out from the others in that its hood was lined with white, the rest wore pure black robes. This one was the stand out, the leader perhaps, and as the figure moved to the front of the group and threw back the hood it was revealed to be a man, a tanned man with an easy smile, with short black hair and shining golden eyes. "You've all done well," he said in an expansive voice, a charismatic voice, a warm and eloquent voice, "I commend you all for coming so far to rescue your allies, I really do. Unfortunately, and I really hate to say this," he cut off and chuckled to himself, "Your hostages are all in other towers. Towers that my associates and I can defend ourselves. So thank you, Dark Mages," he looked down at the Dark Mages before him, all who began to turn suspiciously, "But your services are no longer needed. In fact none of you are needed, none of you are wanted either." And with a wave of his hand, everything changed. The towers... they vanished. The courtyard, the staircases, the eight hooded figures and their mysterious leader... they all vanished. The Light Mages and the Dark Mages were alone now, standing in a large open field. A strange field, a field that had never existed in Fiore before, a field that was ringed by eight towers, eight strange towers; black stone with a strange coloured tint to each of them, each one a different colour. Above the Light and Dark Mages of Fiore the leader of the eight figures from before stood, standing in the air and surrounded by a golden bubble of pure energy, opaque enough to see through but solid enough that it was clear that it would not be breached. "Each tower holds one of my fellows," he said from above the Fiorans, calmly turning on the spot, looking at each tower in turn, "And each tower holds several of the hostages from your country... I'm sure you will have the abilities to rescue them." Looking down at them all his smile was... odd, mysterious, almost a little off. "Or don't, it's up to you of course. You have all been used, used and abused by my compatriots and I'm sure some of you want revenge." And then he vanished, leaving the Fiorans alone surrounded by the Eight Towers. An agreement was quickly reached by the various groups - they would enter the Towers and destroy the Ragnarok. The Dark Mages agreed for they felt betrayed, and nobody betrayed the Dark Mages of Fiore without serious consequences. And the Light Mages still had hostages to rescue. And an evil to destroy... Stuck Between a Rock and a Hard Place A team of mages approached the Earth Tower as it rose, jutting out of the ground in all of its splendor. A huge boisterous earth mage named Vauban Boulderfist was the lord of this tower. Slinging around rocks and earth-based puns, he boldly challenged the mages to climb and meet him at the top. Li'anna, Daisuke, and Alvis were the first in the tower and fought against a horde of rockbro (Geodudes) monsters. Alvis and his companion were held back by the horde, leaving Li'anna and Daisuke to climb ahead towards perilous traps. The two were soon joined by several others, and the party eventually included Mihairi, Dilan, Kurui, Rebecca, and Czash. Crossing a rollercoaster canyon and various traps and trickery, even defeating an immense hulking earthen serpent, they eventually reached the end where Boulderfist waited for them. After a perilous battle, the leader of Ragnarok vaporised Boulderfist in an instant, condemning him to death for his failure. A Deathly Breeze Gale Hikari Kalin Darion Samuel
