Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Snow seemed quite pleased and game for Cain's plan, she even upped the ante when she suggested that she hand him over and play the captor, who had stolen the price from the group of foul smelling bullocks. This was rather perfect, she had gone from bodyguard to accomplice in a heart beat. Cain would be able to use this to his advantage and possibly not only see a ends to a means with this problem but a new ally for the future if things went well.

" That sounds perfectly suitable. I just ask if you have to bind me when we get close, you do so very lightly. " Cain would suggest as they would start to walk. " So Snow, I think its only fair you tell me a tid bit about yourself. nothing crucial, but just something in exchange for all shady dealings I told you briefly, and of course If you wanna know more about me or...how I got myself into this mess, your more then happy to ask. I have very little to hide from someone who is aiding me. " Cain would say not only trying to get on equal footing with the girl but also offering a faint for her to think she could still hold the higher ground on having more information about Rahl then he would about her.

Cain was a Rahl but not just any Rahl he was the most hated Rahl in House Rahl, he not only fought against his family but those who hated his Family in the same breath. He knew when it was a good opinion to fight, he knew when to run, and he knew most of all when to seem vulnerable. This was his current play, he was just a young noble that played doctor that was captured and wanted to find out why, and was oh so vulnerable to such a great wild folk like Snow. Atleast thats how he would play it for now, they both didn't quite know each other too well, and the best way to find out more about each other was to watch and ask, currently Cain would ask, then watch to see what held true and what was a guise. After all for as much as Cain could suspect she could have been planted to fool Cain and sell him to another buyer or assassinate him.

Snow was more than happy to assist this man yet again, especially since it met her own ends when it came down to it. She nodded when he said she would have to tie his bonds lightly. She didn’t smile, even though she wanted to. That particular little detail would depend entirely on his motives and his actions between point A and point B. She decided her best course of action was likely to be playing along at this point though.

She raised her brow and gave him an arch look when he said he deserved information on her. She almost laughed out loud as a matter of fact. But she restrained herself from doing so. Instead she said rather coldly, “I told you my name. If you’d like to know my guild, I’m in Blue Pegasus, in Poinsettia. Other than that, I think we’re even. I did kind of save your ass back there, in case you didn’t notice.” She wasn’t one to give information so freely. Not to someone she couldn’t fully trust in any case. The fact that he thought she would only proved how little he had actually read into her character. But that was no big deal. He now knew she was a mage at the very least, and to which family she truly belonged. That didn’t mean he’d get much else.

“This particular path you say? It can’t be in that direction, since that only leads straight back to Poinsettia. It must be this way.” She took the lead out of habit, not paying attention to his reaction particularly. She had said she would help him, and she intended to keep her word. At least, to the best of her ability. She made sure that her bow was in place, and picked up the discarded coil of rope the men had been using to bind Rahl’s hands earlier. She would be needing it after all. “As far as information on you goes, you’re a noble, you’re name is Rahl, and that is all I need to know. If you feel like sharing, go for it, but don’t expect me to be a chatty Kathy.”

Snow got to the point, and quickly it seemed as she coldly explained that she didn't owe Cain much explanation about herself outside the basics, name and guild. A guild was a promising note to now know he had a mage aiding him but her snark and cold tone felt like she had just shot him with a arrow right into his back. She seemed to only be your average official mage who looked out for people but more so one that Cain should consider himself lucky to have come to his aid at all, when it surely if it stuck her any other way she wouldn't have!

As she pointed out they may have been going to wrong way Cain simply nodded his head in agreeance that she would know best, since Cain was no guide or forest walker. As they started to walk in hopefully the right direction now Cain couldn't let one thing go uncommented on. " Actually Rahl is..how do you say...My last name. Rahl is my family name, not exactly my birth given name. My full name is Cain Noven Rahl. " he would say correcting her. " I don't mind being called Rahl or Cain, but I figured I would simply clear that up. Secondly while I am a noble, I'm far from your average noble who sits around spending all his jewels on what ever strikes his fancy and sitting in extremely lavous seats. " Cain would go on to explain before coughing loudly.

" I have taken up the profession of Doctor, more so rather a medic I should say. I am to join the ranks of Fioreian's order of knights, and further establish my houses influence here in Fiore. " he would say looking to snow the whole time before he would finish and look to the ground. " The rest of my house however, are very different about going about things. They are more the war lord like, who enjoy reaping from those less fortunate. " Cain would explain giving up all this information to further show he wasn't just some stuff shirt who enjoyed his entitlement but someone who used his influence to help anyone but himself. It was about this time however that the sun would start to truly set starting to mask the already shadowed forest into deeper darkness.

Snow raised her brows as he told her his name and told her she could call him either. She could understand, and even honor for that matter, that he had chosen a profession rather than acting the part of pampered noble. And it was nice to know that his house was one of the larger ones that she didn't particularly like. Seemed to her he didn't like it much either. At least not their mode of operation in any case. Respect, she supposed, was a sort of beginning.

She heaved a sigh and looked at him again, still a bit coldly she replied. "I have a sister. And a best friend who is blind as a bat. Other than that, my relationships with people are somewhat...strained. I don't like people. I don't like being around them, or talking to them, or getting close to them." She didn't add that most of her reasoning for that was that she feared still the beast that slumbered within her, and what it might reek havoc upon if she let her guard down for any length of time."I shared. Feel better?" It was the first thing she said to him that had any hint of amusement in it. She couldn't exactly help that. She had been meeting a plethora of strange people lately. He was one of the odder ones, though no one could compete with Alastor for the top of that particular list.

The night was drawing on in the forest, and though they had walked steadily in their intended direction, they had not quite reached their destination yet. Snow wondered just how far into the forest the Guild of Wishes was. She thought there was a good chance they would end up camping before they reached it. They certainly didn't seem to be close to anything, since all she could hear around them was the normal sounds of a forest at night. When it was nearly too dark to continue she turned back to her companion for the day."I think it might be time to set up camp. There's a rather large tree just over there that might do for shelter for the night. And I'm capable of hunting food. Of course, as this was your idea, its up to you whether or not we stop. If you think we're close, I'm more than fine with moving on." She turned to the young doctor and waited on him to make the call. She really would go along either way. She just wasn't a big fan of coming up on enemies when she couldn't see them. Though she supposed the same could happen to them if they made camp here tonight.

Cain would listen to Snow open up a tiny tiny bit about herself seeming to mention her family and one friend. Cain smiled lightly not because he had some sort of plot or he gained some sort of leverage, but more so it felt nice to have a semi honest conversation that didn't have a means to a end or a psychological game of chess to beat the other into submission to his rule. It was a smile of just enjoying the things in life that people had, that he didn't. " Heh, I've got plenty of family, none that I'm rather fond of, or they of me. As as sad as it may sound. I do no have single friend. The place i was sent to while growing up had a caste system that rather kept most people apart from me, and those that were allowed near me only saw to use me for my ties to my House. " Cain would explain with a look of what could only be described as sadness over someone of his status.

" Thats why I'm a doctor. To help people instead of just take from them, that and I knew it would be the best way to show others that I am not like other nobles, least of all my House. " Cain would add as they talked. All of what he said was mostly true, he had people that surely thought they were friends but it was more so just a alliance to gain leverage or resources, or even influence in certain circles, they never gossiped or enjoyed each others company for simply being friends, for those that called themselves Cain's friends was nothing but of a formality. To be frank this conversation with Snow thus far had been the most friend like encounter he had even had in years, that fact now being realized made Cain a bit depressed but it wouldn't hinder his efforts to weed out this buyer that wanted him captured.

" Making camp is most likely the most sound choice. Treading further only makes things more dangerous for our own safety and raising the likelihood of not finding our target destination. " Cain would say agreeing with Snow. "My pride does not hinder me from admitting I am not quiet accustomed to sleeping in the woods, or the tasks it entails. I haven't even been hunting. I've read about it, but like many things I fear it is far from as simple as the texts would suggest....." Cain would say lowering his head. " To be blunt, I am rather useless in this current situation. " Cain would say as he brushed some hair from his face.

" Thus Lady Snow, I will defer to your expertise and skill set. " Cain would say raising his head with a calm look on his face as he seemed to have had his embarrassment pass. " Do not shy away from requesting me to fofill any tasks, for I will see them done with the best of my ability. " Cain would tell snow confidently despite the fact that the harsh truth was Snow was just about to start camping with a noble who had never been camping before and knew very little of surviving in the forest, it was painfully apparent that he was out of his depth but unlike most nobles that would complain and command people around them to get it done Cain on the other was asking to step up and attempt to get what ever he possibly could to assist.

Snow looked at the man as he said he would be fine with making camp. It was clear from his demeanor, and more so from his words, that he didn't know the first thing about it. Or hunting apparently for that matter. She smiled, her first genuine smile to the good Dr. Rahl. It changed her expression completely, made her less cold beauty and more approachable angel. She laughed a little."All right. You don't know anything about hunting first hand? I am self taught. We had no choice, you see. When I was small my mother passed away and my sister and I had to fend for ourselves immediately. So..If you will just come this way, I will happily show you the basics. So you won't be so unprepared next time."She wasn't mocking him, though she supposed he could take it that way if he so chose. She was genuinely interested in helping him to understand that survival consisted of more than simply knowing how to fall into a bed. Besides, she felt a little sad for him. At least she had Rose, and Doc. That was better than nothing at all, which seemed to be what he was telling her he had.

She walked a little way into the forest and as she went she instructed him to pick up any small sticks or dead wood that he might find. They would need it after all. They shouldn't need much in the way of bracken for shelter since the evergreen would likely serve to keep them warm enough with the help of the small fire. She walked slowly, on the balls of her feet and with all senses alert for any kind of game. She had an arrow knocked and ready, just in case. Smaller creatures were quite wary, and had a tendency to sense danger before it crept close enough to do any harm. Rahl on the other hand, seemed to be crashing around behind her. She turned once and looked at him."If you walk like a herd of elephants passing through the forest, we will both go hungry. Which probably wouldn't be good for your health." She gave him a wicked grin, barely visible in the twilight."Walk on the balls of your feet, instead of putting the whole thing down at once, and try to pay attention to where your feet fall."

She continued on, thankfully more silently this time. She heard a rustle in the bushes to the left and she swung that way, hunter's instinct taking over nearly instantly. She loosed the arrow without even processing what she was shooting at to start with. It was only after she hit her target that she realized it was a rather fat rabbit. All the better. That should do finely for a meal. She had manged to shoot it through the eye, which meant no tearing of the precious meat inside."And that is how you hunt I suppose."

Returning to the original spot where they had decided to camp, she helped him start a fire with her flint (always somewhere on her person.) She showed him the proper way to arrange the wood, and then made a few neat slices in the belly of the rabbit, peeling its outer layer of skin away without issue in a single pull. She speared it with a rather sharp stick and put it over the fire to roast.

"You didn't do so badly. I thought I would have more issue out of you." She said as they waited."So, what can you tell me about the people that want to ... eh...Buy you?" She couldn't help her curiosity on the subject. After all, she had just given him more information on her without him asking for it. It seemed fair in her eyes.

Rahl listened carefully to Snow as she seemed more then willing to show him some basic survival tactics for him to use. He wasn't about to say no when he knew that these skills could prove worthwhile when he joined the Order of Knights here in Fiore. He could be assigned somewhere in the woods and need to call on these skills at a later time, or he could be kidnapped again and need to make due in the woods, like his current situation.

He would quickly realize that hearing and understanding something was one thing, but actually doing it was very much a different sort of beast as he started to walk on the balls of his feet as instructed but instead would end up tripping or stepping on something making a loud crunch. " I've practiced dances that were easier to walk through then this. " Rahl would say in a rather calm voice, that wasn't exactly quiet in the slightest. As Snow quickly corrected him as he started to trample through the brush he nodded his head and got serious on the matter. Continuing forward things became easier and easier as Rahl started to think of those dances and graceful steps he had practiced to impress this court or duke. His feet brushing lightly along the forest floor before sweeping to pick up some dead wood or sticks that he figured would be later used to create a fire of sorts.

As the rabbit shot out Rahl's hands quickly went straight to his side arms out of habit and nerves of being out here. However while Snow's shot hit its mark taking out a rabbit at rather the perfect spot. Rahl was more so prepared for different prey. As he noticed it was only a rabbit he started to ease back letting out a deep breathe, his stress being very obvious to anyone with eyes. They now had dinner and a fire after some simple instruction Snow was able to show Rahl how to build a fight quickly and something he had read about was to keep a neat stock of your supplies, those being a stack of wood right now that he had gathered while they had just been out.

As they prepared the rabbit that was no different than some torture or medical books Rahl had read they started to roast the rabbit over the fire. As Rahl sat by the fire awaiting for the meat to be done he was thinking about how preparing the rabbit reminded him of treating some forms of wounds, leading him to think how similar beasts and man were, surely making some of their autonomy the same, this concept being something he hadn't pondered before. Despite being deep in thought he was brought back to the moment as complimented him on a good job compared to what she had expected. " Hm, yes. Application is a bit different than reading about it, but with some practice I should fair better and better like any other set of skills. " Rahl would say nonchalantly, his noble was showing in this moment more so than ever.

However as Snow would move on to ask him the next question he would turn his gaze not from the person that asked the question as proper manners dictated but to the fire for him to think on how to explain to Snow without putting his own life in danger. " Well..." he would say pausing in thought trying to pick his words carefully. " They could be simple kidnappers looking to ransom me off to my family or hosts here in fiore for a hefty amount of jewels or.." he would explain before coming to a pause again. " They could have been tasked with a member from my House trying to stop me from gaining anymore influence here in Fiore or..." he would say pausing to not think but to point to the side of his face. " Finish the job. " he would say making it clear the scar on his face was not some sort of accident or noble slip up but a attempt on his life.

Snow listened as he tried to explain what might be going on. She really was a good listener, she just wasn’t sure if she was hearing what she thought she was hearing. She felt there was something else there, something he simply wasn’t saying. She arched one thin black brow at him, annoyance clear on her features.“If I wanted you to lie to me, I wouldn’t have bothered asking. And for the record, omission counts as lying in my book.” She didn’t say anything else, just turned the rabbit on its make shift spit to keep it from burning. She looked at the scar on his face, and she was slightly saddened that someone had made such an attempt. She wasn’t much for not finishing a job once begun, or for leaving behind such suffering.

She wasn’t sure what this guy was all about, but she was certain he wasn’t telling her all he thought. She made a face and continued cooking. Silence, she had learned, often brought out the truth far better than screaming and yelling at someone. Silence invited secrets and truths to reveal themselves, often against the will of the keeper. Or so she had found often. This might be more difficult with this guy. He seemed like someone used to keeping his own counsel, not unlike herself.

“I think its done. Pick a part and start eating.” She grabbed a leg, blowing on it only once before taking a bite. She needed to start remembering to eat more frequently. Life could get dangerous for those around her if she let herself go too long without something to fill her stomach. She hadn’t been the only one hungry and thus she was making … well…an animal out of herself as she ate. She tore the meat away in strips, teeth gnawing on the bone when all the meat was gone. She looked no more human when she ate than any wolf would. But…That wasn’t something she felt the need to explain to this man.

Dark, true dark, had finally enveloped the wood. She sighed. It was nearly time to rest, but since she couldn’t be sure of the enemy’s position, she wasn’t sure sleep would actually be an option for her when it came down to it.“I think if you’d like to sleep, I can stay awake and keep a lookout. I’m here if you need anything.” With that she took a sip of water from a bottle and set the rest beside Rahl, clearly inviting him to have the rest. She wasn’t tired yet anyway. Besides, she felt the need to work through what he had said in her mind. That too was best done in silence, where she could concentrate more fully.

Cain would scoff at first as the woman said omission was lying in her book. What did she know about what Cain was talking about? Who could she know! He was trying to protect himself, even a tamed lion still had claws, he learned that long ago, and as tame as she seems what could possibly stop her from turning his claws into him back turned? Huffing loudly as Snow would tell him that she thought the food was done he would take a piece and start to eat it in silence. once done however he had cooled his head somewhat and would wipe away from juice from his lips. " Blood. " Cain would open with to catch her attention.

His gaze turning to the remains of the rabbit near the fire. " My house, namely the three pillars of my family share a ancient and old bloodline, one unlike most blood lines that doesn't just give us noble titles and lands. Our blood gives us uncommon innate talent with magic. Everyone that has boor the name Rahl commands powerful magic. The reason for this was only found out possible after I was born. " Cain would say turning his gaze to snow. " I was born like any other person in the world, and unlike the rest of my family I can't use magic. Supremely ungifted they called it back home. " he would explain before taking a breath and letting out a heavy sigh. " Despite this fact, I am still a Rahl, thus it was found out through the splendor of modern science and medicine, that our blood line has a extremely high aethernano count. One seldom ever to appear let alone repeatedly in a blood line. My blood carries this trait despite my short commings..so one could imagine how much I am sought after in name or in blood it matters not. " Rahl would say before taking a sip of the water Snow offered.

" Indeed I will take you up on that. " Rahl would say seeming to agree to get some sleep in the dead of night as he knew he didn't have the stamina to stay up all night and then march in the morning to the guild of wishes. As he laid down he would slowly lean up to face snow. " When we get to the guild of wishes tomorrow...if you see someone dressed in all red. Run. Leave me behind and run because if it is someone in my house, they will have a Mord Sith under their command, and while they can only do so much to me, they would torture you till you either died a slow painful death...or worse. " cain would say in a cold soft voice void of almost all emotion before he laid down to rest.

He had just placed alot of trust and faith into Snow, even if she didn't realize it yet. Seldom did Cain put his trust so fully into people or let them know his secrets that could cost him his life. It a way it was a test he had placed for himself and for her, for if she was sent here to betray him, she was just given the best reason to reveal it earlier than later. If not than he could have just made his first friend since coming to Fiore, and possible saved her life if they did encounter a Mord Sith.

Honesty without tact is cruelty.

So he was a man without magic, surrounded by angry magicians. She was turned away from him as she smiled out into the dark night. She knew very well that he was putting faith in her, even if she didn't know precisely to what degree. She knew by the inflection in his voice, and the way he moved, and the memory hovering close behind his eyes that he was indeed being honest now. And also that it was hard for him. She didn't judge of course. She didn't have that right, not even in her own mind. She did, however, believe that he needed her help at this time. He told her to turn tail and run if someone in a red coat was waiting for them. She snorted slightly even as the words came out of his mouth. "I absolutely will not. Torture and death are not the worst fates in this world. And you seem to forget, I do have a bit of magic all my own. I might be helpful if such a situation arises. Don't count my out so quickly Cain."

She wasn't saying she could take them out all at once, or that she could do it alone even. But she was saying he could give her a bit more credit. He didn't know precisely what she could do, and that was okay. She didn't want him to know. At least not yet. She was just as likely to frighten to poor man off as help him. That didn't stop her wishing to help. She was tired too, but grateful when he decided he would sleep. Snow stared into the darkness, keeping her eyes and ears open for any sign of attack. She had no wish to fight tonight, but that didn't mean she wouldn't do so to protect the man sleeping behind her. She was one of those people who only pledged help when it was needed, and ended up sticking with the person they fought for for as long as they could. Snow sighed into the night, conjuring up an image of herself as a protective dog. Which, in the end, was really all it came down to. Loyalty was ingrained in her nature. She took it too seriously too often.

She wondered vaguely what he had been talking about. Mord Sith? That sounded like something ridiculous instead of frightening. She wanted to ask, but it was to late right now. Perhaps when morning came she would remember to ask him. It sounded like he...almost like he feared it. She thought to herself that this couldn't be correct. He seemed like a strong person, intelligent even from the way he had easily acclimated himself to hunting. She gave a soft sigh, creating a solitary puff of visible air in the night. She still couldn't make out precisely why his family wanted him dead, but she knew she would be damned if she let it happen. Snow simply didn't have it in her to abandon him to his fate.

When the sky began to change colors, from its dark velvet of stars to a soft twilight grey, she moved back to the fire and woke him. "Your turn to watch for a little bit. I need to sleep. Wake me when the sun is fully over the horizon if you don't mind. And when you do, please explain to me what a Mord Sith is." With that, she lay down close the spot he had been in, her face toward the fire. She was slightly cold, but she would never admit it. She closed her eyes, willing her shivering body to stillness, and promptly fell asleep.
