Mission Info It was late afternoon in the beautiful city of Poinsettia. Suijin had never been there before. In the past, during his search for the fabled Water Dragon, he had kept to the watery areas and coast of Fiore. Now that he had accomplished his big goal, at least during that time, he had begun to explore the other lands of Fiore. To which, he was impressed. The city of Poinsettia was a large city constructed around trees. The roots and trunks of many trees made up the buildings much like tree houses, with the exception of some more classic buildings made from stone. Either way, it formed a very natural and clean environment, full of beauty and serenity. One would find it hard to view it as a city at all with this kind of nature around them. Right now Suijin was waiting in the square of the city, just a couple of blocks away from the house where the client for this job had requested to meet him. According to the job description it was to attend to a party of some kind. This Suijin didn't mind at all. Though he did hate the snooty rich types to a degree, but he would tolerate such things for the sake of the job. He didn't know how dress would be, and he certainly didn't own anything fancy... especially he enjoyed being shirtless and didn't give a damn if anyone had a problem with it. He was presently dressed in a blue hakama, engraved with golden wave markings near the bottom of the pants' sleeves. It was tied by a thick cord, and he wore a pair of oriental style sandals. It also clearly showed off his more adorned bracers and necklace he wore, as well as the dragon tattoo on his left arm. It was his idea of 'dressing for the occasion' as it was a more flashy form of dress he owned. Regardless , he heard no complaints. Especially from the women who passed him by in the town square. They happily looked at him, and he just smirked back. As much as he would indulge in such pleasures, he was now waiting for someone. He sat at the edge of a running fountain as he waited for another person. Someone who agreed to take the mission with him. So he sat there in wait, looking cool and hoping this new person would catch his eye. Edited by Zaber, Jun 16 2014, 06:43 PM.

Snow was tired and a little grumpy. But she knew she had a job to do and she was intent upon doing it. She had dressed in...strange clothing for her. A long evening gown of red silk, and her dark hair was a mass of curls framing her face. She looked like an angel, and she didn't like it. Still, she had been told this job required finesse and some of the finer arts of pretending, so pretend she would. She hurried down the sidewalk, intent upon being slightly less late than she already was for this meeting. She'd been told she would have a partner for the mission. She just hoped it would be someone she could work with comfortably. In the square she saw a rather large man dressed in flowy pants sitting beside the fountain. She had been warned that her companion would have a dragon tattoo, and despite her best efforts to deny that this man was the person she'd be scheduled to meet, the tattoo was obvious. She took a deep breath, trying hard not to judge the book by the lack of covering. She gave a sigh when. She released the breath, and painted a smile on her face. She needed to make an effort to be friendlier, and she knew it. So make an effort she would. She walked over to him quite gracefully, and gave him a smile. "I'm Snow White. I believe you've been waiting for me?" She didn't say more than that, trying to make sure no detail of the mission was compromised if she were mistaken. Of course, how many men with Dragon tattoos were there in Fiore? At her best guess next to none. Still, better to err on the side of caution. |

Suijin had been reclining, his eyes close as the soft spray of the fountain against his back cooled him. When the woman's voice spoke to him, he soon opened his eyes in interest. The woman standing next to him was gorgeous, with dark black hair and fair skin. She was definitely Suijin's type, and her stern expression was certainly appealing. Sitting up and standing from his perch on the fountain, he looked at her face to face. "I have, I think. I'm Suijin Azurestorm. You are here for the job as well, right?" he asked as he soon took out a rolled up paper behind him and opened it to reveal the job details involving a murder mystery party of some kind. "Looks like we will be partners," he said in a cool tone, a smirk on his face as he drank in her features. She really was beautiful and he couldn't help but flirt just a bit . "I hope we will get the chance to know eachother a bit more," he added with a wink. Before anything could happen, Suijin heard an annoying voice. "HEY! SUIJIN!!" the voice shouted. Suijin let out a growl as he turned away, knowing who it was. Lousy timing, alligator! he thought as he turned to the voice. Running towards him, was a funny looking crocodile with headphones, sneakers, gloves and looked like something that jumped out of a cartoon by the way it acted so human like. The little crocodile came running up to them. He was panting, as if he ran all the way from Coreopsis to here. "You jerk! How could you just leave me behind!?" he argued. "Because I thought you wouldn't be interested in this kind of job," Suijin replied neutrally trying to keep the fact he needed some space from the crocodile for a bit. Vector, however, was all too eagar to join. "Hey! You know my motto!" he said as he pointed a thumb at himself. "I never turn down work that pays." At this time, the green reptile soon spied Snow White. He looked up at her and the moment he laid eyes on her beautiful features, hearts shot out of his eyes! "GASP!! What fair maiden has fallen from heaven? " he said as he quickly slid next to Snow. "I am sir Vector. How might I be of service to you, oh lovely lady?" His poor attempts to charm Snow made Suijin face palm himself as he waited to see what would happen. |

Snow was more than a little taken aback by the flirting. It wasn't her cup of tea at all. Still, the smile stayed painted on her face. She supposed she would have to pretend just a bit to enjoy this person's company while they were on the job. But she wanted to be sure it was understood that she didn't actually have any interest. Snow was just about to tell Suijin that he probably wouldn't get a chance to know her at all when the crocodile stepped in. He made goo-goo eyes at her, and she had a hard time refraining from giving him a good punch, especially when he slid over closer to her. He spouted of some nonsense about her being a fair maiden, and she took three steps in the opposite direction. "I assume this is a friend of yours?" She ignored the reptile completely and addressed Suijin. Her only reply to Vector was a cold shoulder, and an icy glance. She had a feeling this mission was going to end up far more complicated than she would have liked. Especially with the green cartoon in tow. "Any way, yes I have been instructed to meet you here, and then we are to go to some fancy mansion and do as we were told. Vector, is it?" She spared a glance to the crocodile. "Behave yourself and blend in, cause if you mess this up, I've no problem beating you senseless savvy?" She gave him a soft smile, making her words sting only slightly less. "Lets just get one thing straight boys. We're here for a job. Not to make nice. So, shall we?" She couldn't help but wonder how much of a part they were actually meant to play in the whole murder mystery aspect of the game. And how exactly they were meant to disguise themselves with a cartoon crocodile on hand. She almost copied Suijin's gesture except for the fact that it would spoil appearances, and she thought there was more than a slight chance they were already being watched. |

Vector, despite her warning was all to eagar to be on her good side. He still acted slick and cunning as he turned and stuck up his snout proudly. "Don't you worry. Smooth is my middle name. AH but I can think of worse fates than being smacked by you." he said still in his flirtatious mood. Great... my friend is becoming a masochist, Suijin thought as he watched the crocodile try to show off for his new lady friend. Though he had to admit, Snow was very beautiful and her stern attitude was to Suijin's liking. Oppose to many women who literally threw themselves at Suijin to be with him, he had far more respect and was more drawn to women who were tough and not so 'easy' to charm. Snow was a perfect example of it. Either way she made her point clear. He didn't voice his personal thought on the matter as he stood up and just smirked at her. "Alright, fair enough. I appreciate a woman who puts business first. " he said. "Let's get going." The mansion was a rustic old one, made of wood and stone. It rested on the edge of the city where the forest-city met the actual forest. It had a large yard, and the building appeared to have 3 floors to it. Someone went to a lot of trouble to buy this house and certainly was ritzy in design. As they approached the front gates of the mansion, people had already were gathering for the party. Not just suits but people of all kinds of clothing styles. Thankfully that meant Suijin wouldn't get hassled too much for his more preferred choice of dress. As they got closer, one of the men near the gate spotted them. He was a young gentlemen, likely close to Suijin's age and had a black suit with green tie. Black, near shiny short hair and bronze skin, with a small scar just under his chin. He smiled at them as they approached. "You're Suijin and Snow I take it?" the man asked, showing them the flyer discreetly to prove he was the client. "I been waiting for you." |

Snow was jostled along through the crowd at Suijin's side, noting the variance of dress would actually help them to blend in quite well among these people. At the gate they were stopped by a well dressed man in a suit, dark hair gleaming in the fading light of the day. The facade of the mansion behind them made a dramatic backdrop for the clandestine meeting, and she felt a small surge of adrenaline at all of it. He gave her the usual once over that she was almost accustomed to from men, and she withheld a sigh. This was their client after all. And she couldn't imagine being rude would score them any points. "It's quite simple. He has an object of value on the third floor of the house, not particularly valuable in jewels you understand, but valuable to our host. I want it to go missing inexplicably. Once the mystery game begins, you will be given access to the first and second floors, but you must find a way to gain the third without being detected. Should you be caught, we never spoke, and I do not know you. If you should succeed, you will be handsomely rewarded. Is that clear enough?" Snow gave a small nod. "You will enter here playing the part of couple. You must act as though you are old friends, and you must keep up appearances to that effect at all times. I've gotten you into this event as an obscure duke and success who are old friends of one of the other party goers, though you are not obligated to speak to them. Now, participation and appearances are keytp this mission. Understood?" Snow gave another nod. She might not be exactly happy pretending to fawn over Suijin, but she wouldn't object for the sake of the mission. She slid her arm through his and gave a smile, looking for all the world like a happy woman on the arm of someone she loved. "Shall we my Lord?" She figured a touch of playacting might not hurt anything. And if appearances were everything, this would be a good beginning. The client gave an approving nod. "Perfect. You will precede me inside. No use in drawing undue attention to yourselves." He gave a look to Vector. "And here's hoping you can find a plausible excuse for your pet." Snow nodded. "Eccentricity of course. No better excuse in all the world." |

The client explained the situation and Suijin approved. What surprised him was how easily Snow put her arm between his own so they were walking together closely. He smirked at this, a pleasant surprise he accepted. He could still feel the sting of 'just business' with her expression but at least she was open to just play the role. Suijin did his best to keep some of his more adulterated thoughts to himself as this was a job after all. Either way, it would be a fun job compared to his last one. However, not all of them were amused. "HEY! I aint no pet! " Vector argued. He then jumped right up to the client but kept his voice simple as to not draw too much attention. "I have you know I am the boss of this savvy team here. You wanna talk about plans, you talk to me. And I can mingle around the cool crowd just fine, thank you very much." Both Suijin and the client gave Vector exasperated looks. Realizing it was not the time for an argument, the client just sighed with a finger to his temple to keep his cool. "Alright then, Mr. Alligator. " he said, " I look forward how you can do the job. ALso be sure to actually try to solve the game as well." he ended. "I AM A CROC!" Vector growled, taking offense to being called an alligator. Suijin just shook his head as he gestured to Snow, as the two began to walk towards the entrance of the mansion. THe doors were open and acting very romantic, they made their way inside. |

Snow made a face at Vector as they moved forward. "Hush you, or I will have a new crocodile suitcase." That made him reconsider for a minute, but she was under no illusions that it would last. Still, she walked silently beside Suijin, with the croc behind them, playing the part of a good, if strange, pet. Snow walked beside Suijin with never a mean word after that, watching as they entered the mansion. And it was indeed that. The ceilings were high, and decorated with murals of various things. Cherub, which she hated, angels, which were too happy and smiley for her, and the like. Plus the room the were escorted into was decorated in a garish combination of red and orange curtains, and strange black furniture. Snow was more than a little annoyed that it was so close to matching her dress. She gave a slight scowl, attracting the attention of one of the guests, which the quickly turned into a soft smile again. The old lady looked forward. There on a make shift state, stood their host. He was dressed all in black, and had his face painted comically white, with two spots of pink on each cheek. He looked ridiculous in her estimation, but she supposed that was part of the charm. She picked up a glass of champagne as the waiter passed and took a small sip. She had a hard time not choking on it. Too many bubbles by far. Well that at least meant she wouldn't have to worry about drinking too much on the job. Nor did the food they passed around appeal to her. Snails? Fishes eggs? Who ate this? Apparently, the upper class. Everyone seemed content to cruise the party quietly, and introduce themselves to one another. She made sure that they drew little attention to themselves while they waited for the show to start. As the sun began to sink below the horizon outside, candles were blown out, and a dim light emanated from the stage below their hosts feet. She couldn't help thinking that it seemed just a little bit ... overdone. Still, she took another accidental sip of champagne, and grimaced, standing up straighter as their host began to speak. They needed to solve this mystery, and manage a delicate bit of thievery besides. She thought it would be best if she tried to pay attention. |

"So much for taste, it seems," Suijin commented between himself and Snow. The outside sure was nice but the inside was overly glitzy. It was moments like this is why he hated rich people. They flaunted their wealth, with no real sense of artistic value. The food wasn't too bad as they had more than just those two items. There were some mini beef dishes, as well as fish. As they began to mingle, however Vector was all too ready to party as he happily went to the fish eggs. The crocodile happily took a couple and downed them with some gulps. At that moment, Suijin chose to ignore the crocodile. After all he was acting a bit without class at that moment. As the host approached the stage and everyone quieted down, Suijin immediately disliked this man. He was a thin man with an overly glitzy suit and the face make up-- it almost irked his homophobic tendencies. He looked more like an ugly woman than a man. It turned his stomach a bit. "Welcome, friends and guests! I am Duke Clorone," he introduced, giving a dramatic bow. "As you know I hold this party every year, partly to share my wealth with my compeitors and the masses of the community. I am so happy you all chose to come. " There was a thick air to the crowd that was almost suffocating. Animosity from a good amount of people. Suijin could pratically smell it with his keen nose. "In this mansion, SOMEONE... has been murdered. The poor man, Herald Flinch has been killed, but who and what, where, and why is still a mystery. So I suggest you all prepare yourselves. In one hour, the search shall begin. Till then, I ask you to enjoy yourselves. Eat, drink, and make merry." With that, he stepped off the stage and the guests began talking among themselves. Suijin turned to Snow, wondering what her take of this was. "We should go ask around about this guy, with the other guests? Want to split up for a moment?" He asked, looking over some of the other guests. |

Snow couldn't agree more as far as the no accounting for taste went. And she was also fine with them splitting up. She walked among the guests, mostly people their own age or slightly younger, which struck her as odd, and said her hellos. She was much better at pretending to be a part of something she loathed than she would have thought possible. She walked among them with an unsipped glass of champagne. The first couple she came upon were dressed as some sort of felines. Their faces were painted in garish neon colors, but she smiled at them anyway. "Nice to meet you. I'm a friend of ..." She rattled off some random name when it came to mind. She didn't tell them her own, but they started fawning over her anyway. She was new, and different, and they couldn't be more eager to share their own tidbits of gossip. "It's so nice to meet you. I take it this is your first time at Lord Clorone's party?" She gave a small nod and pretended to sip her drink. The man and woman exchanged a glance. "Is that...bad?" They laughed a little, quietly. "Apologies Madame, but it would be wise if you didn't drink at all. The Duke has a bad habit of cornering women during these games. It would be tragic if you became one of his many conquests." Snow had to blink a few times before she remembered that growling and letting her eyes change colors wouldn't be allowed. She used a polite looking yawn to take a deep breath, and she painted the smile back in place, careful to guard her eyes as well. "I'm sure that won't be an issue. I have a very able partner to assist me in the search for clues." Not to mention I'd tear the jackass' face off if he even tried to touch me, let alone anything else. Of course she couldn't say that last bit out loud. That would make her memorable and no mistake. She chatted with them a little longer, and then moved on. She was in no mood at this point to deal with many more people. That small bit of information had been more than enough to make her want to steer clear of the Duke, and anyone closely associated with him.She couldn't deny it also made her extremely angry to know they knew he did this, and stood by doing nothing. The few other people she encountered for any length of time confirmed the story, and added that his Lordship often cheated at the game besides, or refused to give the players their due. She ended up with an impression of a man who deserved to be taken down just a few notches. She decided it was time to search for Suijin, and share their information, as the hour was nearly up. He wasn't hard to find, and not just because of the crocodile. He seemed to be in the midst of a gaggle of women, all taking turns laughing and smiling at him. She couldn't hear what he was saying, but she rolled her eyes and made her way through the crowd. She planted a gloved hand firmly on his arm and kissed his cheek, much to the disappointment of the ladies around him. "We are supposed to be hiding in plain sight, not making a lasting impression. She said this softly, so that only he could hear. Then she said more loudly as she turned around. "Come on darling, I hear the games are about to begin. |
