Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

And your little dogs, too

Spending a week of travel, maybe more since she had no sense of time... And NEARLY made the mistake of wandering into the Lancarri Jungle, Iris had finally made it to Tully Village. After joining the Lamia Scale guild, she had taken a Mission from the board not long after she had felt at home, which didn't take very long. It was around late noon when she entered the village and she was tiered after all the traveling she had done. Iris wasn't sure whether to go to her Mission objective or rest a little... Or maybe both. According to word of moth... Yes, moth or creepy moth lady just on the edge of the village, the Mill was on the other side, in which only take 10 minutes max to reach.

Walking through the small farming village, full of mud, mud, mud... And mud and dung and more mud. It stank, bad in which didn't bother her as much. Weird. Now approaching the mill, there was a bunch of commotion going on, some villager's had gathered around the the front, some looking concerned. "Hold on dere' people, there ain't nothin' I can do right now. The puppies can not be rescued at this curren' time, it's gettin' dark and the ghost is still be dere' roamin' this here Mill. Please go home, help should be 'ere shortly." The people just looked at each other and turned with disappointment in there expressions. The place was clear and void of people, the Mill Foreman sat on a bale of hay, with his head in his hand. "What am I gonna do..." Iris approached him. "Excuse me, would this be where the so called "Ghost" is?"

Bah, ghosts, there are no such things in this world, not that Iris knew of anyway. She never believed in the paranormal. "Yes... Yes dere' is. Would you be ere' to exorcise the wicked unholy bein' fron dis' ere' place?" The southern accent had been a slight misplacement of her stereotypical mind. "Yes, Yes I am. But Assure you that there are such things of ghosts. But only mere coincidences of logical circumstances in the same place." Or so she hoped. "In such return, I need lodging's near by and food... Lots of food." The foreman looked offended, "Dere be a ghost in dere' and I saw it wid' my own one eye. But I spose' dat such a thing ain't be beliven'. I'll set up a safe lodegein' ere' at out front the mill" He then wanders off and Iris looks at the mill with intent, "I will prove that there is no such thing as ghosts."

Inara had found this mission on the board of the guild hall, and she looked forward to proving herself to the other members of Quattro Cerberus as soon as she could. She wanted them t o be proud to have her. Besides, what could have possibly been more perfect for her than saving a bunch of puppies? She had been informed, of course, that her guild wasn't the only one this mission was posted in, and she might have company when she did arrive. Being herself, couldn't imagine that being a problem. So a few long train rides and quite a walk later she arrived on the outskirts of the village, smiling at the town's folk, who seemed less than surprised to see her.

She made her way to a small cafe in the middle of the village, ordering herself a bit of something to much on, and inquiring politely how she could get to the mill. The man behind the bar gave her an odd sort of look, and took a look at the sun lowered in the west. "I wouldn't recommend going there just now miss. The sun isn't far from setting. And that place hainted." She made a politely confused face at the balding, rotund giant of a man. "I'm Sorry, but what is 'hainted' precisely?" He gave her another funny look and shook his head. When he spoke again it was quite slowly, as though he thought her too thick to understand his words, rather than just his strange accent. "Hainted. As in, theys something unnatural there? A spirit that walks the earth after death? You know. A ghost is there? It only comes out at night, and we don't go up there. I don't think you should either miss. You're only a wee small slip of a thing anyways. It'd probably eat you right up."

Inara smiled politely. She was more than used to being underestimated due to her diminutive size, among other things."My Guild sent me sir, Quatro Cerberus. If they have faith in me, I'm fairly certain this is something I can accomplish. If you would be so kind as to point me in the proper direction, I will happily get out of your way." Her tone was imperious, and the slight defiant lift of her chin seemed to convince him that she was too much of a fool to take no for an answer. He gave her quick, concise directions, and she headed that way.

When she reached the building, there seemed to be a crowd jostling around outside. They wanted the puppies freed, but were apparently too frightened by the thought of ghosts to actually make an attempt. Inara refrained -barely- from rolling her eyes. Everyone knew there was no such things as ghosts. And she was determined to get to the bottom of this nonsense if it was the last thing she did. The only other person there who seemed the least bit interesting in doing something about all this, was a girl. She was wearing a plethora of clothing, and her hair was a dark purple, though for some reason white one top. As the rest of the people began to file away from the area with scared looks in the direction of the mill, she approached the girl. She held up the mission poster, and smiled. "Hello. Would I be wrong in guessing you're here for the same reasons I am?"

A long hair fair blonde had approached Iris as she was "Inspecting" the building from the outside. Taking a fair glance at the poster she had with her, it was the same job that she was on. It looks like that she now had a partner in solving this current conundrum. "Yes, I am here for the job. It's a pleasure to meet you, my name is Iris Oikawa from the the Lamia Scale Guild. And you might be?" She holds her hand out as a pleasant introduction. Then, the foreman had came back from the house, carrying a tent, some sleeping bags and a basket of what looked to be food. "Oh? We have 'nother guess, it be pleasure to be meetin' ya. I'm be the foreman of this here Mill. Would you be also one to answer our poor lil' Villages request?" He drops the stuff to the ground. "It be near night now, I must be headin' of for the night. Please, be careful, eh."

The sun was close to disappearing in the horizon and the moon rising on the opposite side, shining silver over the land. The tent had been sent up and the food laid out inside, it wasn't enough, but there was enough to last the night. Iris sat there, mulling over plans in her head, she thought it would be best to scope out the outside tonight, to see if anyone creeps in and or out of the building. This means that at least one would be making the first watch and then switching over later at night, so they could both catch some sleep.

Iris takes a piece of buttered bread, "So, how will we do this tonight? I'm happy to keep watch tonight and keep an eye out on any suspicious behavior and we could switch for the night yeah?" This was a clear best thing to do, or so she thought anyway. It was going take longer than a single night to solve the mystery. "Tell me, do you believe in ghost stories? Personally, I don't think they exist, but what are your thoughts? Do you really think that they're out there roaming the night? What are ghost's anyway, are they lost souls doomed to move on this earth? Or are they angry and vicious, haunting other people to there early graves?"

Inara gave the girl a soft smile and took her hand, shaking it once firmly. "In Inara Serra, of Quatro Cerberus. It's very nice to meet you Iris." The girl certainly seemed to share Inara's habit of covering herself, and she took this as a good sign. She thought perhaps it was going to be a good pairing. If the girl thought anything like herself. She was going to say so, but the foreman interrupted their meeting. She listened politely and gave him a smile. "Yes I am here to help as well." She watched as he dropped the camping gear on the ground unceremoniously. Apparently, sundown was not this town's favorite time of day. She went about setting things up as he hustled away, looking over her shoulder as Iris spoke to her once more.

"I think taking turns on watch would be a very good idea. And I'm not much for superstition. I don't think there's such things as ghosts, personally. Just lots of people with issues, and occasionally some good masks." Inara gave a little laugh so that Iris would know she was mostly joking. The mill was behind her as she put up the tent, big enough for two, and made a small fire in case the night turned off cold. She brought out her own camping gear and put a small pan on the fire as the night began to come on. "Would you like some tea while we wait?"

She put enough water and herbs in the pan for two just in case and sat with her arms around her knees, staring at the place where they needed to be. She wasn't sure, but she thought she saw something pass in front of one of the upper Windows. She nudged Iris gently with her elbow, still staring. She didn't want to loose sight of whatever it was. "Did you see that?" As the sun sank fully below the horizon, a strange moaning rose up from within the mill. It wasn't the bowling of dogs either. She nudged Iris again, pointing at the same window from before. There behind the darkened glass stood a figure, all in white. She could have sworn she saw its mouth open even as the strange moaning began again.

"I think we need to get to the bottom of this mystery, and soon.

So Inara also didn't believe in ghost either, that goes to show that the paranormal paranoia exists in the crazy, so one would think. The scent of herbal tea lifted away her thoughts and relaxed her soul, it was a soothing sensation. Day had now been completely over whelmed by night, the time, by standards was probably somewhere between 7 - 8 pm, the time where the things that bump in the night come to play. With a quick alarm from Inara, the ghost had appeared and vanished in that moment frame. The low cut moaning of the the not so super natural animal living. "It could be an owl... But... I believe it is time to investigate... Who knows what can happen." The sense of excitement hit Iris and maybe a hint of dread, do they really exist? Iris pokes her head out through the tent door and looks around... Nothing see's to out of the ordinary, no ghosts, no ghouls and no Oogey Boogey to scare them, but the intensity in the air was still high.

Stepping out to take a quick wander around the tent, "I don't see anything here at all. Come out and we'll start looking for clues, there could be something around to at least guide us." It was incredibly dark out, since the moon had been covered by the clouds, it's a shame that she had no night vision to help and her scan vision wouldn't be able to see through the darkness. The best bet was too wait for a bit of moonlight pop up before using it. "I'm going to look closer to the mill."

After further inspecting in front of the mill, it was too dark too even see the ground. A breeze echoed through out the mill, lifting a puff of dirt into her face. It get's into her eye's and mouth and she starts to cough and rub her eye's, for dirt, this was a serious irritation. But once she lost her sight, her confidence had been replaced with fear and panic. A ghostly howl had lifted saying "Geeeet ooouuuut" and "Ruuuuun" echoed through out the mill. Iris, with slightly opened eye's, but all she could see was all a blur, had turned and ran back to Inara as she was tripping over her feet. "Ghost... In the mill... Exist... Was scared... Lost sight... Couldn't see." She falls to the ground, tears in her eye's. With out he eye's, she had nothing.

Inara grabbed some water, pouring it in Iris's face to help clean the dirt out. "I know I saw it too! And I heard the noises. Are you okay? I should have come with you. I'm so sorry." She couldn't help but feel guilty. If she had been there, maybe nothing would have happened. She stood pondering the mill and the mystery it presented. She wondered vaguely if questioning the people of the town would help them at all. But there was still the fear of sleeping in front of the haunted building tonight. She wasn't sure either of them were up to the task, but she tried to steel herself. She didn't want to quit, and she wasn't going to let some stinking ghost scare her away. This was for her guild as much as for herself. She had sworn to help those in need, and in her mind that included small creatures.

She gave a sigh, and stirred the fire. "We need to consider this logically I think. There has to be some reason why the puppies are there. And maybe it's not a real ghost since dogs don't usually like such things." She chewed on the inside of her lip, thinking. She needed a map, and cursed herself for not havingthought to bring one. She was supposed to be more prepared than this. Why would a bunch of ghosts keep puppies locked up inside an abandoned warehouse? It just didn't make good sense. She didn't think she would be getting much sleep tonight in any case. She kept an eye on the building as she spoke to Iris. "I think this mystery might have to wait until morning. Maybe we should be questioning villagers, and looking at maps. There's something fishy going on here."

It seems the shock has been swept away by Inara's ability to calm Iris. She was grateful for the effort too sooth the fears at away. Calming down now, wiping her eyes of the tears that she shed and the sight now returning from the water that Inara had poured, Iris had realized that she had too be strong, although at times that she can act like a helpless poor child. Was this really the time for tears and fear? No... No it wasn't for her, she's a detective, a private eye! Was the inner monologue really needed? Yes it was! Iris stiffens up, clenches her fists and let's out a pout, she has now found her resolve. It appears that her inner child mode had been activated... "Inara-Chan, there is no need to be sorry! I was fooled and tricked by the meanie in the dark, grim looking building! Iris is strong..." She turns to the building... "RAAAWWWWRRRR!" Her roar echoed in the night... But the ghost retaliated a groan. Iris's let's out a little "Eep", then runs and dives into the tent, she pokes her head out, "First let's have sleepy time!"

Laying down and thinking hard about what Inara said, her partner in Ghost Busting, about going out into the village and try to ask around about the ghost and... Well... The Mill in general. But what should they ask? Clearly the question of when the ghost had appeared and that could be asked just about anywhere, also, the question of any strange behavior around the town... More so... At night. The thoughts raced in her head and she had let out a cutesie little yawn, hopefully cute little child Iris had gone by then. She turns around on her side and whispers "Good night Inara-chan."

The cock crowed for the morning, the ghost had remained silent for the rest of the night. No Ghouls, no Ghasts and no things that go bump in the night. There was a morning chill and frost had came from Iris's breath, letting out stretch and yawn. The tent door had ruffled and the Foreman's voice had popped up "I 'ave some warm tea 'ere for ye youngin' ladies'." Iris steps out with her sleeping bag a,d grabs a cup. "How was ye night? Any bump's in da night?" Iris had then told the man everything that had happened and what they had planned what they were going to do next.

Iris roaring had certainly set her off kilter. She was glad the girl was up and moving around, and had regained some confidence. The fact the she roared, showed that much, even if it had made Inara jump a bit. The answering moan sent both of them dashing into the tent, where they huddled close together for the remainder of the night, though Inara didn't get a wink of sleep. The continuous moaning and groaning from the building ensured her sleeplessness. She was more than a little thankful that she had company, until dawn broke the following morning. The foreman came early, and she was somewhat miffed she'd not been brave enough to stand outside and watch for his approach there was something about the man she did not quite trust.

Inara sat quietly sipping tea as Iris related their adventures of the night before to the foreman. He wasn't exactly surprised she didn't think, though he did tsk and gasp concernedly in all the right places. She supposed it was possible that he had simply seen too much here already and had known precisely what to expect from their little over night stay, or he might know more than he wished to relate about the haunting. Still, the tea was good as was the company. When Iris had finished her tale, Inara looked at the foreman. "Is there anything that you aren't telling us? Also, could you give me a map of the town? I think we need to do a little exploring today, if Iris agrees. Find out what the ... source... of this haunting might be. I've been told they almost al www says have a source." She did not mention in particular that she thought it was a human and possibly devious source. For the moment, he was her prime suspect, and she did not wish to give all of her cards away.

"Deys a map shop ina town square m'an. I dun believe I'm leaving any'ting out miss. Just tryin to be helpful, so you and dis miss can be helpful too." He gave a crooked grin, and began gathering his tea things. She handed over the cup and stood, stretching. She wAited until the foreman was out of hearing distance and looked at Iris. "I think we should take a good look around town today while the daylight lasts. I'm exhausted, but we need to figure this out. I don't believe there can be real ghosts here. There's....Something else going on."

"I like this plan." With agreement in mind, map in hand and trusted compadre at side, The fearless rag tag duo headed into the what so called little town this place is. It was a brand new day of theories, mystery and mayhem, but where to start? Iris looks down at the map, she's see's the mill and the buildings around it. "So, here we are now..." She scratches her head... "So, if we start here and make our way down the main street... We could split up at this cross roads and start ask questions. If we can start getting some basic information, we can start with a starting foundation of an investigation. She folds up the map and places it in her pocket. "Shall we start to head out...?" Her stomach emits a low pitch growl. "After getting something to eat, I am feeling rather peckish." Iris collects her necessities and prepares for the day ahead. "Shall we head out?"

Walking down the street, sun beaming down upon the Protagonists and the chill lifting from the air, things had now began to warm up. "Sorry about last night, I can such a child at times. But thank you for everything so far." Iris let's out a smile, "Where would you like to go and eat? I don't think there is much here, but I'm sure that there will be something of decency, being a farming village and all." She was right, there wasn't much in the way of dining in the village, maybe a small stall of grilled meat would go by, but nothing that would be of a great fascination of Iris's taste buds. "Oooo This looks nice... " Iris stops in front of a small Cafe shack that was built of wood that had been polished, it's didn't look on par of fine dining, but it still looked welcoming. "Shall we stop here to eat? It doesn't look like much, but it will be enough... I think. Besides, we can talk plans and stuff as we eat, you know, to get a better idea on what we should... Well... Ask."

Inara went with Iris to the cartographers shop, and they picked up a fairly simple map of the town each. She felt better looking at the map. She liked the easy logic of the town, and the way things were spaced just so. She nodded slightly at Iris's suggestion of splitting up. "We will cover more ground faster that way. I think that's a perfect idea." There were only a few odd bits connected with the mill, but when Iris mentioned food, she put the map away, content to look at them later. Their long night in the tent had been tiring, but it hadn't spoiled her appetite. She sighed and watched as the few stands went by. Nothing she particularly wanted to eat. When Iris apologised, she just smiled. "It's not as though I was the model of bravery. No apologies are necessary. Really."

They found a cozy little restaurant in the town, and though it was nothing fancy, it had something that Inara loved, fresh vegetables. She happily ordered a salad, and a glass of water. "So, what sort of questions should we be asking? I mean, I know the obvious ones like have you seen anything unusual. But I'm afraid most of these people have let superstition go to their heads. I'm wondering if we will get very much information from them at all." She sat quietly for a bit considering. There was no reason for these people to act the way they were. She began to wonder how long this had been going on. She gave a soft sigh, and waited for her food, her mind on other things. After a few minutes she remembered she wasn't alone. With a slight blush she looked at Iris. "Sorry. I was a bit lost in thought. So. What do you think we should be asking?"
