Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Blitz had managed to sneak around and catch the would-be hider from behind, but moments after laying a hand on the guy's shoulder, there was a flash of light, and suddenly Blitz found himself alone in the mirrored hallway, and where the man's shoulder had been, there was now only a crumpled piece of parchment. Unfurling it, Blitz read the note quickly, taking a brief moment to think it over, before tucking the note away in his pocket.

"He leave you another clue to the last location?" Shoop asked as Blitz began to walk out of the building.

"Yep, and thankfully this one is more straightforward, no searching lights in the sky or rearranging letters. If my guess is right, he's hiding in the clock tower in the center of the town."

"A fair assessment," said Morgan. "Given that 'running out of time' and 'beacon of time' are both references to time, and 'Vertigo' is a hint at height."

Blitz stepped out of the front entrance of the mirror hall, glancing around before crouching and then leaping into the night sky, firing up his Soaring Steel tech halfway up to turn his leap into full flight, engines roaring to life as he ascended above the roof levels of the town, glancing around until he spotted it - the large tower in the town's center, with a giant clock face built into one side of it, thankfully facing Blitz, which made it easier to confirm as the intended tower.

Blitz flew to the tower, pausing while floating halfway up the tower's exterior, pondering briefly which entrance he should use - the lower, more commonly-used entrance, or the upper entrance, usually reserved for those doing maintenence or adjustments to the clock itself. After a moment's thought, Blitz realized that in terms of trying to pin him in, it didn't matter much - a mage who could teleport could escape as easily from the top floor as he could from the bottom floor - but he opted to fly up to the top of the clock tower, landing on the outer metal platform and opening the exterior door leading into the tower proper, immediately being greeted by the loud clicks and whirrs of various gears and mechanisms. Loud, Blitz thought, closing the door behind him as he stepped inside the tower. But if I can't hear him, he can't hear me, either.

The maze of mirrors before were far easier than what Blitz could see now inside the tower. Gears constantly were changing and moving. THe entire length of the clock tower's insides and gears reached up a total amount of 3 stories, and the moving gears formed an elaborith labrynth.

Even worse, with the moving gears it was far more dangerous than anything else. One wrong step and you could get stuck in the gears. But for the hider-- he could easily teleport around. THis was no longer just a game of hide and seek-- Blitz would actually need to physically catch him this time.

As he entered the tower, he didn't see any sign of the target yet, but it was near 9 o clock now... as he would have to explore the moving gears-- and carefully or risk getting stuck or severely hurt.

Well... as a Fairy Tail mage, there was another option he might want to avoid. Breaking down the tower itself from the fight :P

Inside of the tower was loud, and might have made it easy to keep hidden in terms of sound, but it also might it easy to hide in terms of sight with all the gears, which helped the hider more than it helped out Blitz. Still, if I can find him at least once more, I'll have completed the mission, Blitz thought. Blitz walked up the wooden stairs, ignoring the slight creaks that came from them, as they were masked by the noise from the rest of the clock. As he ascended the stairs, he kept his eyes peeled, keeping an eye out for the hider, any sign of movement that wasn't set, mechanical - all the moving parts in here might be loud and somewhat distracting, but their movements were in very set patterns due to being part of the clock, which was as patterned as something could get in terms of set movements. Which meant that any sudden, irregular movement besides his own was no doubt the hider himself.

Blitz leapt onto one of the moving gears, gazing around the structure as he stood on the slowly turning gear. Granted, a bit dangerous to some, but even if Blitz did get lazy enough to let himself get caught in the gears, the gears would lose. Weapons of stronger metals had tried to damage him in the past, and failed. The gears wouldn't even fair that well.

"Morgan." Blitz said.

"At once, sir." Morgan replied, knowing what Blitz intended.

A moment later, a film of red formed over Blitz's irises, his vision switching to a different spectrum. Thermal. He shifted his gaze up the tower, looking for sources of heat - in this tower of metal, high up in the sky with the wind whistling outside, anything that wasn't a living creature would be rather cool at this time of night.

Inside the tower, he could see the target. The red figure but it was moving constantly, up and down, via the moving gears. He was moving swiftly at a fast speed and his own teleportation powers. It would not be easy for Blitz. He was doing well to keep out of sight, never once extending himself from behind the moving gears and gyros of the clock tower.

He was not going to be easy to catch him. There had to be a way to trap him and keep him from teleporting.

He was now heading up to the top floor, using the moving gears to ascend up.

His gaze scanning around the tower, Blitz kept an eye out for any sign of irregular movement or heat, until he spotted something, moving back and forth between different levels of gears, which no part in this clock should be doing. A humanoid figure glowing with a level of heat noticeably above the surrounding mechanisms. Blitz grinned. Found you, he thought.

The hider was aware that Blitz was in the building, or at least he was acting as if he was expecting Blitz to sudden appear out of nowhere at any moment. Couldn't exactly blame him, since Blitz had done exactly that not even an hour ago in the hall of mirrors. He was being more cautious this time - he was moving around, sure, but he was teleporting from place to place, tucked away behind the gears each time he reappeared inside the tower. He's making it more difficult this time, Blitz thought, his eyes flitting around the room each time the hider teleported.

The hider was moving, but overall, he was slowly moving higher and higher up the tower, towards the top. Blitz could just blaze after him, but he'd just teleport away again. He had to find a way to catch him off-guard, which was a bit of a tall order against someone who could vanish and reappear in an instant. Granted, with his Jump Jacket, Blitz could do the same, but not nearly as rapidly as this guy could, so he'd save that for later. For now, Blitz switched to his Stealth Fighter mode, turning invisible once again as he followed the guy up the tower. The moment he reaches the spot below the last good spot to hide near the top, he'll only have a single spot to jump to if he wants to keep going higher, as the tower ends in a point, Blitz thought. For that one moment, I'll be able to predict where he'll warp before he moves, and nab him just as he comes out of his teleport. Blitz moved up to the top of the tower while stealthed, using his speed to beat the hider there while invisible, as the hider was zig-zagging in order to hide while Blitz could fly straight there, and waited just behind the gears at the top.

The wait took a bit of time as Blitz would find the right position to stake out that spot, but he had a good eye. Even with teleporting and moving so quickly, the line of sight and spaces to move safely in this place played to his advantage. It was tricky to move around so fluently, unless you knew where to go.

He would wait... for the right moment...

Then dashing through the space and through the light of the moon was the figure. He moved as a blur of speed and it would be fast to keep up with but now the game was a game of tag, no longer hide and seek. Blitz was now hot on his trail and would be right behind him through the events upcoming.

The hider now went to take a sharp left and proceed down a narrow catwalk, surrounded by the gears!

Blitz waited as the guy teleported his way up the tower slowly - which seemed odd given that it was teleporting being used as the means of movement, but Blitz knew it was partially the wait that made it seem like he was moving slowly. As the slight blips of light grew closer, Blitz readied himself, but just before the guy got to the top, and a point where Blitz could have nabbed him, he suddenly shot off to the right, moving a bit faster now. He moved to the side just before the point where moving up or down would have been his only options, Blitz thought. Either he'd got good instincts or he's a very lucky fellow to guess that.

Blitz dropped his stealth now, focusing on speed - if he couldn't catch the guy by surprise, he'd just have to show that he could outrun the guy, which would make hiding pointless in the long run. Blitz fired up his Soaring Steel technique to fly after the guy, flying low over the catwalk, also activating his Iron Acceleration technique to boost his speed even further as he shot after the guy, weaving between the clock's gears as he did so - the guy could teleport, sure, but he had to stop ever-so-briefly each time he emerged from the teleport, and each near-stop gave Blitz time to catch up.

The only teleport he could do was line of sight! As he moved, it was then and only then that he noticed Blitz, now without his cloaking field and he was quick to run. He teleported to the ned of the hall and moved to make the final dash.

However, it was that key moment that Blitz needed. He could only teleport short distance that he could see and the corridor full of gears, he had only one direction to go!

There was no doubt that Blitz would reach the chaser before he could teleport again. A single thrust of speed and a good blow is all it would take.

The moment Blitz appeared out of thin air again, the hider picked up the pace, jumping quickly from gear to gear like a pinball. Unfortunately, what could have been his saving grace ended up being his downfall, because he panicked for a moment when he saw Blitz, clouding his judgment, and took a wrong turn, going down a hall that was too cluttered with gears to properly teleport, as it seemed that he could only teleport short distances when he could actually see his destination, and the surroundings were too uneven for him to properly teleport again in time to move fast enough to have any hope of avoiding Blitz.

As the hider reached the end of the hall, he prepared to warp again, as not teleporting would end the game for sure, so he had to try something. "Oh no you don't - Overclock!" Blitz said, the green lines along his body that indicated his speed buff now growing intricate designs along them as Blitz shot forward with even more speed than before, moving as fast as he could possibly go - with his Overclock technique, he could use electrical signals to increase his body's reaction time and speed beyond what a human could endure without damage, but only for a very short time. In fact, Blitz almost burned it up completely in the short movements he made - leaping over to the hider and struck him in the back of the neck with a chop with one hand, intending to knock him out, or at least stun him so he couldn't focus enough to use his magic again.

The blow to his back was enough to send him flying. He sped forward with a shout and struck the near by wall. OW! THat had to hurt! He landed with a crash to the ground and was out cold!

Blitz had caught him and this time he was not going to get away. Restraining him now was simple and he could turn him in to the authorities for all the hi-jinx he had caused.

Now he could end this game of cat and mouse. Blitz would take him back to the client and he would be apprehended accordingly. With a job well done, he was free to return to his guild with a successful grade on his mission.

And so the night of hide and seek ended.

(sorry for short stuff but this plot and picking up for another really dragged me down)

The end and mission complete
