Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Blitz's viewpoint gave him a good view of the city, able to see nearly all of the city from the one vantage point, the city unfurled below him like a giant carpet of architecture and lights.

"Hell of a view," noted Shoop.

"Yeah," Blitz said in agreement. "Maybe they should build a skyscraper or something up here so people can see this without having to fly."

"It'd be a nice touch, I guess," Shoop said. "Anyway, where are we headed to look next?"

"Well, since the sky hasn't lit up again," Blitz said, glancing at the blue sky overhead, "I'm guessing we're finding him the old fashioned way now. We'll start looking around down there," Blitz added, pointing at the amusement park below.

"Why there?" Shoop asked. "He could be hiding blending in at the mall over there, or hanging out at some place less obvious, like the ice factory." Shoop pointed to each place as he mentioned it.

"Possible, but I think the amusement park is the most likely," Blitz said as he descended, heading for the park. "The mall has alot of people, yes, but it's not like the violet part of the city we were just in, the silhouettes of people wildly vary there, so he couldn't hide from the Thermal filter that way, nor at the ice factory, as he'd be the only thing with real heat. Besides, an ice factory is a bit of a frosty place to hang out while waiting up to a whole day for someone to find you."

"Right, we've been out here the better part of the day already," Shoop said as they landed. "At least we found him once already, so even if we can't track him down again, it's still a successful mission."

"Yes," Blitz said, stopping at a stand full of souvenirs related to the upcoming election. "But I think a token of our victory thus far is needed." Blitz bought a life-sized crown and put it on, slipping it over Shoop so that it was actually on his head, around Shoop's hem, so Shoop looked like he was staring out at the crowd over a thin golden fence.

"Very funny," grumbled Shoop, earning a chuckle from Blitz as they glanced through the crowd, looking for anyone resembling their target.

"You're going to wear that thing all day, aren't you?" "Of course."

Bliz' location made him land near the amusement park-- the location to where he felt the client was hiding. It was a game for him, so an amusement park was probably a good choice. Among the place, Blitz had an awefully wide selection of things to explore. Rides, games, stalls full of sweets. Children ran about happy and playing, running to rides like the roller coaster and log flume.

It was shockingly an indoor amusement park-- kept by a glass dome above, but big enough to allow full size rides to run. There were plenty of places that glittered and flashed. It was meant to appeal to everyone. Many places could of been targets for the person to hide.

Blitz would have to work and find a way to see if someone had seen his target, or perhaps he could consider which ride best fit the riddle he was told. The place was big, so he had a bit to look for. If nothing else, they could get a bite to eat :P

The amusement park was a fairly large one, though given the city's population and center as a place of lacrima research and trade, it wasn't too surprising. The entire park had a large glass dome overhead, presumably to protect it from the weather, so it could be open year-round.

Blitz glanced around the park - there were rides and stands everywhere, everything from spinning teacups to full rollercoaster. It was possible that the guy was hiding on one of the moving rides, but that would make it rather difficult to hide from Blitz's sight if he was actually looking at the correct ride, given the simple nature of the compartments.

"Think he's ducking down behind the stalls somewhere?" Shoop asked, glancing at a nearby cotton candy stand. "He was just hiding behind a dumpster the first time, so he's not above just ducking behind whatever's close by."

"Probably not, though," Blitz mused, rubbing his chin idly. "Too close to what he did last time, and if he's dedicated enough to devote a day or two and a mission to this, he's got some kind of idea. Besides, there's that riddle he left us. I think he left it as a clue, like he did with the colored lights and the letters."

"Alright, so where should we check first, then?" Shoop asked.

"Well, it said 'what reflects, decieves', and it said to check where that's abundant." Blitz raised his left arm and pointed to a sign sprawled across a nearby tent as a wooden sign - Hall of Mirrors.

"Ah, that's kinda clever." said Shoop. "And annoying. We have to find the real one among the reflections. Assuming that's where he's actually hiding."

Blitz ran over, across the grass and past the stands, ducking through the flaps of the Hall of Mirrors tent, glancing around the mirrors lining the walls. Plenty of reflections, but only their own so far. They'd have to look around further to see if their client was nearby.

The hall of mirrors...

Blitz entered the dazzling hall, after seeing the sparkling sign above the entrance. Other kids were enjoying more engaging rides, so he had the place more or less to himself. But of course it only made the scene far more creepy.

Just seeing endless versions of himself in the hallways. The first hall he was in showed many versions of himself but some were not all the same. There were some parts of the hall of mirrors that were just clear plexiglass-- meant to further illusion a person into thinking it was a path but it was not.

It would be quiet in there... then he could hear a voice. THe person eh was chasing. "Ah, so you got this far. Of course that is just the first step. How will you find me in here?"

Blitz would have to get further into the hall before he could find him, but so far there were many places to go. The hall splintered off to many sections. He would have to consider a means of finding him through the mirrors somehow.

Blitz walked through the hall, glancing in the mirrors, hoping to catch a reflection of someone that wasn't himself, Shoop, Morgan, or Crash in the reflective panels. Thankfully, the place seemed rather empty - everyone who wanted to tour the Hall of Mirrors either had already visited and left, or had yet to arrive, hopefully with one notable exception besides himself. That made it easier at least - if he saw a person's reflection and it wasn't him, it was the guy they were looking for.

"This could take awhile," Shoop said, glancing at the mirrors. "Can't you just turn on Thermal Vision to hunt for this guy, like you did in the city's Violet sector? Not like there are other people to get it confused with here."

"I could," Blitz admitted, "But it wouldn't work. The filter is applied over my normal vision - I would see his heat signature, but since it's vision based, the thermal display of him would be reflected across the mirrors, too."

"Damn. Oh well, it was a nice thought, at least," Shoop said with a sigh.

"And we can't just break the mirrors, being both in a public place and that they belong to someone else." added Crash.

"True," Blitz said with a shrug. "Guess we just look the old-fashioned way."

Then a voice rang out, congratulating them on making it this far, but questioning if they'd be able to make it any farther than this. "Any chance you can locate the source of that sound, Morgan?" Blitz asked.

"Negative, Master Blitz," Morgan replied. "The lack of people in the hall removes the usual interference, but given the hall's design and multiple panels, the sound is echoing too much to pinpoint where it's coming from."

"Wonderful," Blitz said, rolling his eyes.

Blitz picked a section at random and started walking down the hall, eyes on the lookout for any hint of movement.

The soft laughter of their target was still within the mirrors and not going to be easy to find. But they were close. They could clearly tell he was within the vacinity of the maze, but how were they going to get to him? They merely had to find them and tag them to get the 2/3rd part of the quest covered.

The truth was, it wasn't hard to figure out if he applied some logic. There were many clues in the room that could help his search. The mirrors-- the parts that were not but clear plastic walls, and the floor as well. The sounds alone,-- many many factors BLITZ himself could use and didn't need the aid of his minions to find out.

Challenge: THink creatively as how you would find anyone in a maze of mirrors. Consider logic and physics in this method and write out a reply that works well to locate. Or use a magic that could detect people through walls otherwise.

Blitz's gaze wandered from mirror to mirror, ready to spot any sign of movement that wasn't his own reflection. There had been no sign of him just yet, but judging by the soft laughter echoing through the halls, he was still somewhere inside the building. Granted, it could be a lacrima recording, but given the quality of the sound, it seemed like an actual voice, not an artificial or amplified one. Still, there was no sign of the guy - either they hadn't stumbled across his hiding spot in the building yet, or he was moving from spot to spot to avoid notice, in which case, it could take quite some time to locate him.

Blitz sighed. I didn't want to have to use this, but if he's making it difficult, it's only fair that I respond in kind, he thought. Focusing for a moment, he used Radar Sense to spread his awareness throughout the room, becoming aware of every event or action occuring within a certain radius of Blitz, a radius that was far large enough to include the building he was in. The movement of Blitz and his pets was expected, so Blitz kept sensing, looking for any sign of movement or life besides his own with Radar Sense.

The radar sweep was the instant game over for the enemy as he soon detected his target! Seeing through it, the person was identified in the far left corner of the room, hiding among the reflections of the mirrors. He was three walls behind the spot from Blitz. The person was in a hoodie with glasses. He seemed like a nerd in appearance, but his power of space and illusion magic seemed to have given him the edge up till now.

All he had to do was catch him. He could sneak through the maze now and get to the exact mark... or Blitz could do what Fairy Tail Wizards did best.

Smash, crush, destroy and ask questions later. But he was near the end of his long journey!

His awareness of the goings-on in the room increased with slowness, and then suddenly, a life form three walls over suddenly became known to him, like a dot popping up on a radar. Blitz grinned. Found you, he thought. But how to approach so that he doesn't scamper off again like last time - last thing I need is him teleporting away again. So it needs to be fast....could just smash through the walls, but that might alert him, or worse, harm him, and that's not part of the mission, just capturing.

After sorting through a few possible methods of sneaking up on the guy, Blitz eventually opted for the sneakiest route - using his Stealth Fighter to turn invisible and sneak through the halls, making only slightly more noise than a silk spider as he crept between the reflective panels, which showed nothing, only the same empty hall of mirrors, or so far as the hider knew, anyway. Spotting him crouched near a patch of wall, Blitz snuck up behind him and dropped his field of invisibility as he carefully grabbed the man's shoulder. "And that's game," Blitz said with a cheeky smile.

The target never saw him coming! The stealth mechanic of Blitz's gear and magic was incredibly strong that he didn't even hear him approach as he hid behind the edge of mirrors. It was then he heard the voice and turned around-- but it was too late. The grip was strong and he had no where else to go!

He sighed as he pulled down his hoodie. "YOu win... THIS ONE, but you got one more left!." He said. Now that he had a firm grip on him, he had no way to teleport out but he was wrong!

In the blink of an eye, he vanished again as if he was nothing but a mere mirage or illusion. In his place was another scrap of paper. Another riddle for his location inside the grand city.

"Vertigo is my enemy, alit by stars manmade.
At night I am the brightest, as I am a beacon of time for all who look my way"
You are running out of time, Fairy Tail Wizard.

It was like playing tag with the Riddler :P Now he had to find the place in the paper he was describing and find him there.
