Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

The pillar of power that Meikaku had seen... it was as if it had been taken away with the battle's end and reverted the boy in front of him. Was revert even the right word? Meikaku didn't even know him; maybe this was how the boy normally acted while his serious resolve was a rarity brought out only during battle. Or when he had something to protect. Small steps and a babble quieted any questions Meikaku could have had, and instead replaced them with an obligatory concern. For Meikaku, all he had known was that the boy could use a magic powerful enough to dent and rip Hairo away from her limbs. He couldn't have immediately known that there was more to the fight than sheer power, that there were levels deeper than what he saw on the surface. Nor that the boy had been so greatly affected by the outcome of his actions. And so it was, that when the boy tripped after backing away, Meikaku was stunned by the repeated carelessness. He might have been unconscious for the first time, but for even just a quick moment, the guy holding a snake was looking at a fallen boy just as he had only earlier that day. Bewildered by the coincidence, Meikaku couldn't even offer a hand before the boy returned onto his feet.

Nor could Meikaku understand why the boy continued to back away. It felt himself an idiot for asking, but he knew silence was not going to help either. "Did something more happen?" With the boy between a tree and the duo, Meikaku tried not to stare. Just like before, he kept his distance... But unlike before, Meikaku kept his distance for the boy's sake. He could tell from the audible breathing, from the silence, from the indecision of words, that his savior was still shaken up by something. It was a mirror of the day's earlier confrontation, but Meikaku's ill-directed wariness was replaced by a worry for the boy who once again reminded him of a rabbit. Unsure if the main cause was due to Hairo or himself, Meikaku looked between the leftover disintegrating metal and Rou and the swaying leaves above-- anywhere not toward the boy as to give him his needed breathing space. In that moment, Meikaku began to wonder what the boy's magic actually was. Years attending Empyrea were finally being put to use as different magic possibilities were being considered, but it was such a small curiousity compared to everything else that has happened. What about Hairo? Another glance to Rou showed the white snake calm if not at least a little tired.

When the boy began to speak, Meikaku looked back at him with full attention and tried not to glare. The 'right' thing? "Because of what she said?" Meikaku could see the boy was still flustered, the pink on his face nearly complimenting the lavender of the tree behind him. As far as Meikaku cared for the moment, the boy saved him. Could there have been a better method? Probably, had their been more time as is always the case with anything. Should he himself be feeling more shaken by the revelations from Hairo? Probably, if he was willing to lump himself together with the entity known as Mei. Was it the snake? Was it the person who existed before 'Rou and Kaku'? He didn't know. He honestly didn't want to know if he didn't have to. If pushing aside information meant keeping Mei asleep, then Meikaku would forgo the potential of moving forward in order to not be held back. Why do you want to understand? he wanted to ask, but felt his opinion to be greatly different from the boy in front of him. Instead, the boy asked something to Rou, and the snake raised his head while Meikaku realized that he was out of the loop. Somewhere in his mind, something clicked a question, Sensory magic?

Where Rou was concerned, the snake could only share his vague understanding of what he felt during the entire ordeal. "Yes," he hissed exhausted. "As could you apparently, but we may not have felt the same things. Was it sadness? Pervading?" Rou doubted it, since he didn't even know exactly what had been mourned for. Did Mei cry for Hairo? Certainly, her appearance is most likely what had caused the churning within him, but Rou knew things were already starting to go downhill for the duo before this day. Fortunately, the boy began speaking again in more than just fragments, but...

Meikaku's eyes widened at the boy's sudden intensity, and then narrowed once he registered the words. Instinctively, Meikaku's mind wanted to take the defensive stance, and on the tip of his tongue were deflections ready to be thrown out. Inside!? Even deeper, he felt his existence being ignored, but that was wrong. No, this reflex was wrong, and he knew it was wrong but couldn't stop his initial inner response. He had to remind himself that the boy didn't mean any harm, that 'Kaku' right now wasn't only 'a someone' on the surface anymore. All the boy wanted was answers, and wasn't that... something that at least the duo owed? Meikaku closed his eyes, and then opened them into something less of a glare.

"Everyone has their own circumstances from which they came. You know this, surely. I... There might be questions that we have, but if they were spawned from her truths, then is it really something we should have answers to? Should it be something we should hold onto, even if it meant dredging up the past?" Was it really their own questions that could be answered, or did the boy in front of them just want the knowledge to justify the choice of saving them? To justify plowing away Hairo's resolve with his own resolve? Was it really so important to the boy to know everything? Was it because he didn't want to have regrets? If it was at least that, then Meikaku could understand. But... to bare to the boy everything about the duo's existence was rather...

It still hadn't deftly occurred to Meikaku that listening to a narrative wasn't the only way for the boy to acquire information.

In a somewhat slow but clear movement, Meikaku sat down and lowered the bundle of Rou onto his crossed legs. His arms were now free, but for now he kept them to his sides. "At the very least, my name is Kaku, and he is Rou," The snake kept a red eye on the boy but otherwise simply nodded. "And I'm not really sure what exactly you want to know. Our whole life? Because, I don't think it's our questions that need an answer to so much as it is your own want of understanding. Stop me if I'm wrong though," he tilted his head. He wasn't trying to sound accusatory, but... he needed to know if there was more to the boy's motive. He hoped Hairo was the only danger that would befall them today.

Rou wasn't sure what Kaku was planning on doing or to what extent of sharing, but he was too affected by the thing inside of him to want to engage without being directed to.

Teh cuteness =3
The boy unintentionally leaned back against the tree and stayed liked that; for some reason, he was feeling safer that way. His eyes were swiftly and nervously swishing around, once again like a deer trapped against a tree that prevented escape - as if the one he was confronting was going to hurt him. As if he could. Judging only by the boy's shy behaviour, one would have concluded it was easily possible. That was, if his previous performance against Hairo hadn't been seen. Quite a big difference, hidden within the same person - one could say it was rather deceiving, and most definitely unbelievable. But that was just the way Noel was, and it was precisely because of reasons like these, that he was so often underestimated by the people that happened to confront him. Even he, himself, didn't believe in his own power: it was almost like he was always surprised whenever he saw the results that came from his actions, much like it was the case now, with the steel woman. He was visibly shaken up, which was likely another one of the reasons why he was so scared once again, and it didn't seem like that fear was going to let him out of its grasp any time soon, despite Meikaku actually giving him some space and respecting his unspoken wish not to come closer.

"Not b-because of what she said..." he finally spoke - he seemed at least a little less flustered at this point. Maybe Meikaku's distance and intention not to come any closer, was actually helping with his general well-being. Maybe. "B-but b-because of w-what she felt..." The silence that followed, was kind of stressful, as was the way he'd stressed the last word. Perhaps, it would further confirm some of Meikaku's suspicions, either regarding the powers that the boy possessed, or the things that were related to Hairu. Even with that sort of additional 'knowledge', not much could actually be proven, though. It was almost like they were in some sort of limbo state, preventing them from realizing or finding out what was truly going on, and why things have even come to this. There were too many connections for them to process and figure out without knowing more, but.. was it true, what Meikaku believed? That Noel wanted that knowledge simply so that he would feel better inside, for what he had done, after having gotten a glimpse of what Hairu had been going through..? Or was it, that he was trying to help them understand what was going on..?

Did it even matter..?

The confrontation, so blunt as it was, unnerved the boy, however. At Meikaku's direct question, it felt like the boy had retreated even more so within his protective shell, away from the battering that he was receiving. It was showing in the way of how he was slowly, but surely starting to curl up, sliding down against the tree towards the ground in a defensive fashion, his arms wrapped around his own knees, as his eyes tried not to look at Meikaku and the snake, as if doing so would utterly hurt him. His cheeks were redder than ever, as well, as if the snake boy's words were either embarrassing or awkward, even if they were none of that. Noel wasn't caught lying, either, so it wasn't like that red color was related to that, either. I was mostly just the way his own cheeks reacted to such a sudden confrontation, and for a moment, it seemed that he was once again at the point where he wouldn't be able to let out a single sentence without stuttering to the point where it was difficult to understand him: "I w-was.. u-uhm.. j-just, y-you w-were.. I m-m-mean.. s-she..." He took a deep breath, trying to calm down.

Calm down, nothing was going to happen.

But it would, if he didn't do something about it..! "Y-you... S-she could come back and h-hurt you..!" he tried to convey to the other boy. It was true. What if, what he had done to her, wasn't enough to keep her away..? Noel wasn't always going to be around him. And what would happen the next time she confronted the snake boy, when he wasn't going to be around..? The young boy didn't want to think about that. In a way, he almost felt responsible for protecting him. It was a feeling, an emotion, so difficult to put into words - he didn't even know where and when it was born inside of him. He just knew it existed and he wanted to follow it - and in order to be able to somehow help the boy, he needed to know. What was it, that she really felt, and where did her emotions towards him come from..? Why didn't Meikaku remember a single thing, while the snake did seem to know something..? The snake had admitted, after all, it agreed with Noel that there was sadness. So, it must have felt it, too! If it wasn't a similar kind of magic, that he had, then there had to be another reason for their connection.

But how could he tell all this to the boy in front of him..? That, maybe, yes, a part of him did want to know all these things so that he would feel better about his own actions, but that there was also a necessity for him to know, if he wanted to protect him. That there were possibly things that Meikaku knew, without really knowing. And that such information could very well be crucial. Would Meikaku telling him his life-story really reveal that kind of information, or would digging deeper be necessary. "I.. u-uhh.. M-maybe the s-sn-snake could t-tell m-me.. I mean.. u-us.. what it k-knows about t-the girl.." he finally managed to get out. Again, it was a bit easier to talk now that the other boy was sat down, and wasn't 'threatening' him directly. What a peculiar thing, that he would be threatened by him, but that was how it looked, whenever he was confronted by him. Either way, even if it was difficult to put all of these feelings and emotions into words and somehow step onto the path that would lead them towards the solution that they were seeking, it appeared that they were finally starting to do it.

Perhaps a few things, that showed him their perspective, would be enough of an initiative for the boy to get a better grip on the things, and understanding what exactly was going on here. After all, he couldn't start with.. that. It was too soon, it would scare the two, shatter any kind of trust they had in him. Especially if they didn't understand. That aside, Noel had to understand as well. At least the preliminary information was necessary for him to know what their view of it was, and then, he would perhaps know how to react and what to do next, to resolve this thing.

These things were always so difficult.

Was... Was he scared? Was the nameless boy scared of something? With that much power, it shouldn't have been the case... Magically anyway. Meikaku knew surely that there was a weakness to everything, and it was a matter of knowing just what such a weakness could be. So, what was it that made that boy shrink into himself? Meikaku waited, because that was all he could do, and all he could at least do, for the boy to speak a full sentence. He hadn't expected the boy to care even more for their own well-being for beyond this day. Why... was that boy caring? It's true that neither Kaku nor Rou were strong enough to take on Hairo yet, but they'll be stronger by the time Hairo ever returns, if she even came back for them. It was honestly something Meikaku was hoping to deal with once it came up, but it was still a valid point that the other boy brought up. Meikaku furrowed his eyebrows in thought, and even closed his eyes. There were so many things concerning Hairo that he didn't want to think about or consider, or at least not right now immediately after the confrontation, but how else could they answer that boy if not to involve her?

Especially when that boy was asking the snake to talk about her. Meikaku opened his eyes again, but kept his gaze on his lap and Rou. Now that they were out of obvious danger, neither of them could know that the other mage wanted to protect them. The two of them who have had only themselves to look after each other, who have never asked for help after believing that they was only themselves, just weren't able to consider the possibility without it spelled out in front of them. And even then, there would be some wariness. If there was any information that Hairo's existence will dredg up, then it would be crossing territory with things about Mei. Meikaku let Rou decide whether or not to say anything about the two of them. He didn't miss how the boy had addressed them separately, nor the lack of addressing of his own name, but Meikaku didn't mention it. There were more important things for that boy to concentrate on, and Meikaku didn't feel in the position to fully understand.

Rou though, caught onto that boy's words very closely. Did the two of them feel the same thing? It was clear that the boy had indeed felt something, but perhaps he had only felt as much as an outsider could. Was Rou considered an outsider to his mental innards? ...As strange as those words were, it was most likely the case, since Mei was a separate entity altogether. It made sense to share the information, to learn what they could. Unlike his other not-self, Rou didn't like being in the dark when a door appeared in front of him. "Nothing." The only problem, of course, was that Rou could only speak hypotheticals about Hairo, and it would involve mentioning the duo's life, something that Rou knew Kaku wasn't too keen on. So, Rou chose his words carefully, being on the line between his wants and his obligations. "Consciously, I know nothing about her." But, would it really hurt so much to share a part of themselves to the person that saved them? The black snake moved his head to give that boy his full-bodied attention.

"I will tell you a little about us. Maybe it will help answer what you are looking for. Do you remember that Hairo used the word 'Mei' when she talked about him," his scaly tail flicked to motion to Meikaku, "and how she only talked to him while not noticing I was there?" Rou wondered what that boy could be thinking, but continued on without too much of a pause. "As he said, he is Kaku and I am Rou. That is who we are now, but it is not who we once were."

Meikaku chimed in now that he knew Rou's decision to reveal a bit about themselves, hesitantly, but with a clear voice. He was still looking away from that boy as he spoke. "The two of us aren't just two beings. We're not just a dude and a snake. If anything, Rou is actually the more human one when it comes to experience. That is... Well." Kaku raised his head to look at the boy again. What he was going to say was only partially a secret, since many people knew that Rou and Kaku were two entities that lived coexisting each other, but it was probably these exact words that were the most important connection that tied their lives together. It was who they are. " ’Two halves of an incomplete whole.’ Fragments that have grown and can no longer fit together. Pfft haha, that sounds really dramatic though doesn't it..." he tried to lightly say.

"The main point, is that we used to be one person." Neither of them talked about Mei, the snake though. "If Hairo was talking about a 'Mei', it's not we who would know her memories. Maybe something deep down resonated with her. Maybe she's chasing after something far asleep... I only could start thinking about this after the immediate danger though." There were no lies. Just... fragmented truths, just like them. Rou didn't want to say everything. After all, this boy in front of them was still a nameless stranger, and he wanted to know that boy's reaction, and if it helped him figure out whatever it was that he was so desperate to convey.

Kaku fidgeted for a little, unsure if he should mention anything else so early. It was offtrack, but... "Is... there something we can call you?"
