"TO LIFE!" The half-demon tipped his makeshift cup over, swallowing yet another mouthful of alcohol before finally dropping to the ground, dreaming alcohol dreams of unicorns and steaks and people riding lizards. Kurui yawned, blinking blearily as the early-morning sun assaulted his eyeballs with a merciless glee, the rays of light piercing through his droopy eyelids, and very much searing them to oblivion as the half-demon shook his head repeatedly, trying to rid himself of the remnants of a bit too much back-alley booze from the night before, coupled with the flesh of at least half a man, and maybe more. As it turned out, a volatile concoction formed from the combination of freshly-drained blood and a spirit that contained, without a doubt, some kind of wheel lubricant, did not do pretty things to a person. It was great that he was a half-demon, and hence recovered from these events a tad bit quicker than normal people would. Granted, he killed a guy every now and then, much to his disgust, because he got a mighty-strong thirsting for human flesh every fortnight or so, and he always tried to puke in his mouth as he dug in, but otherwise the demonic side was pretty damned useful in terms of staving off hangovers. His head still hurt though. Groaning, he shifted, moving his limps until he somehow stood up, his body cramped in all sorts of odd places from sleeping in an alleyway, dried blood crusting the corners of his lips until he licked the residue away. A snake scurried away from the alleyway, startled by the sudden signs of life from the half-demon. The half-demon, however, paid no heed to the snake scurrying about, as he had no desire to eat a snake. He did, however, see a rainbow in the distance. And, somehow, with his currently dull mindset, he set off on the most logical path ever. To get to the end of the rainbow. And not puke himself to death on the way there. The previous night was a blur to Seraphina. All she remembered was a whirling daze black and all colors of the rainbow, on top of black and a lot of flashing white. Green was the most prominent color in her memory, with the occasional flash of ginger. Ginger hair, she figured. Booze, too. Bottles upon bottles upon bottles of booze. Some dudes, too. That explained why she'd woken up bum sticking out in the air and only a small percentage of her clothes still on. Well, she had woken up, which wasn't what every girl could say about such an escapade in the Dandelion Sector. Unsurprisingly, the room was strewn with bottles. Vodka, tequila, wine, everything. So, when she had awoken in a nondescript hotel room, she had washed up, taken a shower, brushed her teeth to get the terrible taste of morning breath out, and put her clothes back on. Her head hurt like a motherfucker, and surprisingly, she still had her wallet and all her other belongings. Feeling like it was the right thing to do, Seraphina went to check out downstairs. She had to admit she felt slightly disappointed in herself when the receptionist told her she had gone to her room alone last night... But with a backpack that had apparently been loaded with bottles. Well, that explained why she remembered nothing and why she had woken up alone and without any of her things taken. With a spring in her step, she left her hotel room with all her belongings in her purse... and almost bumped into a dude who wandered out of an alleyway the moment she left the hotel. "Whoa! Oh, sorry!" she said, looking him over. Animal ears, tails. Not a human, perfect! She also spotted what could only be dried blood poking out from underneath his shirt. Stepping a bit closer to him, she reached into her purse and pulled out a tissue. Ignoring whatever complaints Kurui might give about her breach of personal space and sudden intimacy, she reached into his hakama and rubbed the blood off. "Had a nice meal?" she muttered to him. "Don't look at me like that. I know a demon who just fed when I see one." Edited by Zen, Mar 18 2014, 11:24 AM.

Kurui could do little more than stare blankly at the woman he had almost bumped into, only just remembering to mumble out a half-assed apology as his brain tried to formulate a sentence long enough so that he didn't sound like a complete utter idiot. Which he really wasn't, just, back-alley blood cocktails were some of the most volatile brews known to man and demon alike, and to stave off a hangover from one of those was pretty damned annoying. It was a lesson learnt, and none too soon a lesson learnt at that. But Kurui's current mental state didn't change the fact that the girl he had almost bumped into was a veritable giant of a lady though. The girl had to be two meters tall, at the very least, and she had the body to pull off such a stature nicely. So, yeah, she was hot, and Kurui was severely hung over. So, needless to say, there was a very, very small amount of flirting and smooth talking and hitting on and nice words offered from Kurui's end, even though she was a one in a million girl who seemed to be somewhat well versed, or biologically related, to demonkind and such, and was way too accepting of demonic urges. No, instead, Kurui focused more on not throwing up over her feet as she talked, quite calmly and intimately wiping the blood off of Kurui's hakama. Blinking once more, he finally focused his mind enough to dig into his demonic blood, excite the demonic aspects of his own body, and speed up the coping process of having an excess of alcohol in his system, letting the magic in his bloodstream do the work afterwards. "Oh, uhh, thanks. Sorry for almost bumping into you and all, and thanks for cleaning me up. And uhh, well, uhh, you're very tall, and seem to be somewhat related to demons or something, and you're very tall, and yeah I had a nice meal, and ohlorddonoteverdrinkbackalleybloodymaryseverinyourlife, and thanks again for everything, and sorry, and all that. And hey, a bar, want to hit a bar? Let's hit a bar. I like the idea of that, drinking off a hangover sounds like a plan." Pointing to the closest bar, which was also the source of the "rainbow" he had seen moments ago, he moved closer to the establishment, rather strangely named "Rainbow's End." Also, he wasn't a very smooth drunk. |

Sera chuckled when Kurui just stared with bleary, bloodshot eyes as she cleaned him off. Obviously he had been drinking the good stuff. Or the bad stuff, if his current state was to be used as guideline. Nonetheless, she would hate to see this fellow behind bars just for following his instincts. "Hmm... Not enough fur or markings for a full-on yokai... You're a hanyou, aren't you?" she said, surprise touching her voice. For all her years, Sera had only encountered a hanyou once before. They were rare in other countries, but from what she had heard, Sera gathered that they were more common here in Fiore. "There we go." she said as she removed the last of the stains. Sera put the tissue away in her pocket and straightened the hanyou's hakama. "Good as new, hm?" she said, laughing as he suddenly straightened up. He was probably healing himself of that hangover, a move which Sera approved of. Maybe it would make him a little bit more talkative. She wondered why a hanyou had been sleeping his drunkenness off in a back alley in what was arguably the most run-down, crime-riddled place in Fiore. Sera listened to him talk with her head slightly cocked and a smile on her face. He was obviously a bit awkward. Adorably so, even. She laughed as he finished his little rant and brushed his cheek with a hand. "Well, aren't you cute?" she said with a giggle. "Sure, normally I don't go drinking that early, but I suppose I can make an exception for you." she answered, hooking her arm through his as they walked over to the bar known as the "Rainbow's End". The snake that Kurui had frightened off before was now slithering across the street, going its merry way, when Sera noticed it getting too close, and she tried nudging it away with the toe of her shoe. The snake, noticing a shoe the size of itself moving towards it, gave a start and quickly skittered around Sera and Kurui. Tall folks were scary. |

"Well, yeah, half fox-demon on my mom's side. My dad died or something, if forgot, but hey, my mom was pretty awesome." Kurui had a habit of talking way to much when he was hungover, recovering from being hungover, freshly gorged on human flesh, and in the presence of a woman that had a full head over his height and was hot as high hell in all it's fiery glory. He wasn't a very smooth talker, it was true, the only brief flashes of anything even close to romance included a very hormone-driven and semi-in-heat encounter on some beach on some island with some other hanyou, and his childhood friend, who ended up dead and Kurui really didn't want to think about at this moment but since he's hungover the whole concept of having thoughts that ran on and on without any signs of respite that make his mental self hold his breath forever fit surprisingly well. He took a deep breath. He took another. And he repressed the growing urge to projectile vomit out a night's equivalent of alcohol, petrol, and bloody human chunks. And he succeeded brilliantly. A pat on the back for Kurui, men. Nay, many pats for Kurui. Huzzah, he succeeded in not vomiting. He rocks. Noticing the snake but once again not bothering to give a damn about some vaguely innuendo-worthy creature which spent it's whole lifetime down-low getting dirty and just hoping for that one delicious infantile kitten to snack on, Kurui pressed on, his eyes burning with a determined fire that few men could ever achieve when half-drunk and very hungover, even if the man in question was not completely a man, and had some very demonic DNA in him that contributed to a whole load of weird habits, quirks, characteristics, and very cannibalistic urges that in reality were only kind of cannibalistic. "So, I'm Kurui, nice to meet you. I don't see any telltale markings on you, so unless they're on places best seen in private, may I ask what kind of demon you are? Or perhaps you aren't really a demon? Angel? Devil? Something in between, or something more than those?" He was talkative, true, and very, very curious. But he stopped talking the moment he opened the door to the bar, "Rainbow's End." Why? Because there was a goddamned Leprechaun manning the bar. And not just any Leprechaun. A female transgendered Leprechaun with a 5 O'Clock shadow, fishnet stocking, a distressing bulge somewhere best left to one's imagination. Well, at least the Leprechaun was only a meter tall. |

Seraphina nodded when Kurui confirmed her hypothesis. She felt bad for him that his dad was dead, but it didn't seem to bother him much. It hadn't bothered Seraphina much either when her parents had died. That had been... Oh, sixty, seventy years ago? She'd disconnected herself from them anyway. It had stung a bit at first, but she quickly got over that. They were just humans anyway. They were fleeting and weak by nature, and she had been expecting them to die for a long time before they actually did. Sera gently rubbed Kurui's back when he looked to have some problems with keeping last night's... everything down. He didn't seem too bad, just hungry. No more so than any other hanyou. She couldn't blame him for his instincts. Now that she looked him over again, she realized he was actually rather handsome. Those ears were rather cute, too, and that was a very soft-looking tail. Inhuman, handsome, and not afraid to show his instincts... How very sexy~ "Seraphina is my name. Seraphina Scudetti. Just call me Sera, though." she said when Kurui introduced himself. "As for what I am... I'm all of that and more, but at the same time I'm none of them." she stated cryptically. "No, don't worry, you'll get a straightforward answer. I have... spirits and creatures inside of me. All their knowledge and their powers, too. For the latter, only one at a time, of course. Demons, angels, ghosts of all kinds, anything else that dwells in the realm between life and death. I could show you more late-" When the door opened, Kurui wasn't the only one who froze. A multitude of emotions passed through Seraphina, most of all confusion - in over a hundred years of life and many more from the spirits inside, she had never seen something like this. "Err... Let's... take a seat, shall we? Somewhere in the back, preferably." she said, adding the last one in a quiet whisper as she guided Kurui along to a table towards the end of the room. |

The leprechaun was giving Kurui looks. Strange looks, looks that made Kurui's hair stand on it's ends, and if anyone had ever known Kurui, that was a lot of hair to make nervous and stiff. It had started with a greeting, but had quickly turned into a couple of painfully obvious winks, and nudges with the chin pointing to a frighteningly placed and inconspicuous door, unmarked except for the large, black, bold letters set into a plain white background, stuck onto the door, that warned away people that weren't staff from entering the door. And even if Kurui was not, or rather, had no experience, in the finer arts of dating and relationships, he did have a brief period best describe both as a mistake and being in heat, and he was plenty clever, though not necessarily school smart. He knew full well how to discern a painfully obviously visual queue for one person to get it on with another person in a room that offered some degree of privacy. However, he was too bewildered and scared to say no straight up. And as a result, the looks continued, with Kurui experiencing the rather unpleasant feeling of having a pair of eyes scan every visible feature, every visible aspect, ever visible nook and cranny of his own body for the entirety of the time it took Kurui to snap back to his senses, stammer out an awkward greeting, and seat himself in the table that Seraphina Scudetti, or simply Sera, in a way that Sera blocked most, if not all, of himself that would've been visible to the lecherchaun bartender. "I...that...holy god I think I just healed myself of the hangover with that." Eyes wide and still in state of being somewhat unsettled and shocked, he smoothed his tails down, brushing his tails with his fingers so that the stiffened hairs settled down smoothly, and repeated the process with his ears. It was somewhat of an understandable, and maybe even useful, physical aspect of being part fox demon, with his hair standing up to make him seem larger, and hence tougher and more dangerous, true, but when the guy in question was half-human as well, all it did was make him seem fluffier, and, well, hairy. He shuddered, calming his nerves, which was quite thankfully made easier by the fact that he couldn't really see the midget lecherchaun, and could see Sera instead, who was, by all means, a preferable alternative to seeing the lecherchaun. "So, uhh, what do you want to drink?" He tried to avoid glancing at the lecherchaun while he said it, but failed miserably, and regretted the act immediately. The guy was still winking. |
