Trillium, one of the last places that anyone would come looking for her. Her father had done work here once, and his style had apparently run him afoul of a couple of the different business owners in the area, or something like that. Anything that came to her father's businesses were usually kept out of her earshot, and she didn't have any interest in it anyway. No, when it came to her parents, she was kept in a little glass case, to be sold off to the highest bidder to be a loving wife in exchange for something. Like she'd have ever let something like that happen. She'd booked a room in an out of the way hotel, a fairly middle of the road place. Nothing too seedy, nothing too flashy, and a little extra to the clerk so she'd have her privacy in case anyone actually came looking for her, which was doubtful. At this point her parents were probably relieved she was gone and trying to salvage their reputations after the scene she'd put on at the party the other night. She twirled the cane in her hand, giving a slight sigh as she wandered the well lit casino streets. She cracked her neck as she looked around, rather bored. She thought about stumbling into one of the casinos for a bit, but thought better of it. She was just here to get her head on straight, and then she'd need to head on to her next destination, the Knights. She was wearing a black leather jacket, a faded pair of pants, and a white tee. She'd hit a store after she came to town and replaced a bit of her wardrobe that she'd left back at home. Not that she'd ever really miss any of it, her parents were lucky she hadn't set fire to them on the front lawn. The thought made her smile a bit. She played with her ring, twisting it back and forth with her finger. "Somewhere to eat would probably be a better choice," she said, moving on from where she was standing in front of the casino. She tossed a few coins in a man's begging cup as she passed by, not bothering to stop to look as she looked around. She hadn't done any training for a little while, and she had a slight itch in the back of her mind. She needed the release after everything that had happened over the last couple of days. The explosion at her parents had helped, but she was still building up. She stopped in front of another casino, this one boasting the buffet with the best variety in town. Of course, she could also see three other casinos in the immediate area that were boasting the same thing. Still, this one at least looked like it was clean. She cracked her fingers and was about to walk in, when a couple of men stumbled out in front of her. She moved off to the side, waiting for them to pass before she went in. "Cun you belief tha' they frew us out af'er they stole all our money?" one of them said. Erika was glad she didn't smoke, if they were any drunker the lights would cause them to catch fire. "Yuh, all I did wuz play a few cardzd. They din't have to take all teh money jus cuz I put it all in," his friend replied, stumbling and looking around, his eyes crossing as he looked around. "Nah I need moref money to go get if back. Erika rolled her eyes a bit, and since it had become apparent that they didn't plan on moving, she started trying to slip her way into the Casino when one of the men grabbed her by the arm. "HEey, give my buddy a few jelwels huh?" he asked, his grip tight on her arm. She glared up at him and pulled her arm back, breaking out of his grip and moving to go into the building, ignoring the urge to knock him down. She didn't need to get kicked out of the casino before she'd actually entered it. He reached forward and grabbed her arm again, forcibly pulling her back to them. She was caught by surprise and glared at the two of them as hey spoke again. "I wathn't athkin." "Yeah. Little bisch like you needs to learn her place." Welp. If there was a line between 'drunk idiot' and 'person who just reminded me of my parents, who I'm not very pleased with' he passed it. She spun the cane again, this time thrusting it forward and slamming it into his chest, and making him fall back off his feet. She spun again, slamming the hilt of the cane into his friend's face, knocking out a tooth or two as he joined his friend on the ground. The first one had gotten the wind knocked out of him, and looked like he was having trouble getting it back, she glared down and dug the end of the cane into his stomach. "You really should learn to respect people," she said simply, ignoring everything else she wanted to say or do. If she'd have a bit less self control, she might just keep beating them until they were both very unconscious, or dead. Or she might've drawn the blade. But that wasn't very knightly behavior. She looked at the casino before turning around and starting to walk down the street again. "I'm not that hungry anyway," she muttered to herself, followed nearly immediately by her stomach growling. |
