The sudden laughing from Irelia drew a smile from Alice herself as she fell back. Figuring that there was some sort of speed reduction when it came to the area of the slow, somewhat telegraphed by the fact that there was a huge ice circle in the middle of the ground. But more importantly what she had gotten from it was that it did something more to her own senses and reactions, rather than affecting everything within the circle. That meant that there was some sort of standard restriction for the female mage's technique; her idea was that it affected senses of enemies within, rather than just slowing everything within the circle. This was confirmed as true as she fired the bullet at Irelia. That left her still at two bullets remaining, but losing one of her ammunition seemed to be a fair enough trade to understand the technique. One of the major problems of magic that she knew was that once you figured out the trick behind them and their restrictions then you could work around it. Strength, on the other hand, just had to be overpowered. There were cases where speed and tactical approaches could overwhelm strength, but in many cases strength could just overpower a subject. Approximating in her mind, Alice figured that the circle was two meters long, judging by the length of her guitar and comparing it to the diameter of the circle. She looked up from staring upwards trying to figure out her next move, her arm leaving a dull throb. Knowing better to remove the shard, she let it be, allowing it to bleed as it would, figuring it would be better than a plain open wound with very limited supplies to stitch it back up. She hopped backwards, using her left hand as a pivot. Irelia had retreated back into the safety of her circle, and Alice couldn't help but to keep smiling. “Stay in your little cage,” she muttered. That was an almost ironically explicit example of magic holding someone back. Irelia could have tried to improve herself in other aspects, but instead she had chosen to have some sort of trickery in order to win, leading to stupid restrictions and fear to leave her power. Gauging their damage, it seemed that her right arm was damaged, but not completely inoperable. The strength in it was greatly reduced, but something as simple as pulling a trigger wasn't completely beyond her. She just made sure to not move it too much, keeping her arm hanging at her side for now, appearing to be fully disabled. Walking backwards, Alice approached one of the trees nearby, approximately 10 meters away. From Irelia's point of view, Alice was slightly behind it. Sitting down calmly, Alice took a few breaths. There was very little reason to approach Irelia as it was. She threw her guitar strap around and put it to her back once again, effectively sheathing it for the moment. Holding Nyx in her left hand, she pointed it at Irelia, using the tree as cover. It was clear that Irelia was not going to leave her circle, and the only decently ranged attack she seemed to have was the little ice shard. And Alice doubted the strength of a tiny ice shard against her bullet. In fact, having Irelia standing in the ice circle made her a slightly more easy target to attack if she decided to retaliate. There was only a two meter area for her to dodge in and she doubted that Irelia was good enough to dodge a bullet in the first place; Alice, on the other hand, had a tree to take cover from and fire back. Allowing Irelia to maintain the ice circle just meant more strain on Irelia herself, as she was constantly having to use her physical stamina on top of regular magical power. Alice doubted she could keep it up forever. S eyes looked straight at Katherina, obviously not deterred by her initial trick. But it didn't matter to her because she knew better than to run away from a fight. Avoiding the head on challenge would dishonor her name as a Raven Tail mage. Neither her nor K would back down with the threat. Her hands were held straight out, accepting any attack that came at her, waiting for Katherina's inevitable approach. Once within range, S had her blade immediately slice downwards angled towards Katherina's back. The design of the scythe was perfect for the follow through, a it would continually follow the attacker inwards as they approached S. Katherina's blade, though, met S first, piercing her chest perfectly and cleanly. The blade went straight through, S's face showing no pain, a grin of contentment. “Then you aren't even alive.... you tool.” S said, grinning with her last breaths. K didn't even bat an eye towards S at the time, knowing that the both of them were in similar situations. But the sounds were definitely those of dying, at least of S. “Hahahahahaha, idiot, dying.” He yelled. While the duo had worked together for a little while, he felt little sympathy towards the death of his comrade. After all, if she was weak enough to die she was worthless anyway. Vayne had attempted to taunt K, but he was uninterested in it. He only wanted to kill the kid. “Don't get too confident, kid, looks like only one of two of you has any sort of resolve; you, on the other hand, seem scared of dying.” The dodge proved it. K, deciding to do something, held his sword at his side, fully retracted such that the blade had disappeared. He pointed it towards Vayne's direction as he felt for traction with his left foot, getting ready to push off. He synchronized his pushing off the ground with the extension of his sword, charging straight at Vayne with all his speed while continuously extending his blade. If Vayne somehow managed to dodge he would just follow through running while swinging his sword in the direction of Vayne, allowing him to held prevent a counter but also allowing him to maintain his distance. Even though she would never admit it to herself, Irelia was not as strong as she wanted to be and by pulling out all the stops in the earlies she had exhausted a good portion of both her magical and physical abilities and the fatigue was starting to kick in. Irelia ignored that fact though as she didn't plan on prolonging the battle much longer because she had a plan to end this battle and kill her opponent. To Irelia's surprise though Alicia did not attack her but instead retreated and this took away the advantage Irelia had planned to use to secure her victory. From their encounter so far Irelia had deduced that there was nothing more Alicia than rash and impulsive behaviour. She had not once assumed her capable of thinking things through and applying strategy to her actions. This is why her retreat threw her off and Irelia would have to act fast before she couldn't act at all. The circle beneath her retracted in then until it covered a one meter radius instead of the previous two meter radius and Irelia knew she was running out of time now. She still couldn't muster up the power needed to recreate her ice blade so she resorted to the only other weapon in her arsenal, a small dagger that she hid in her boot. She drew the knife holding it in her left hand then moved to the far edge of the circle. With the speed buff allowed to her by the circle she charged forward the boost only lasting while she was in the circle but it helped with acceleration and she was going after Alice where she cowered behind the tree. She had made a lot of assumptions before initiating this attack and only hoped that she could meet Alice in hand to hand combat where with her damaged arm she would be able to best her. She had made the assumption that Alice was low on ammo and that she would conserve what little ammo she had left until she was sure she would hit her target, which meant she would not be fired upon during her approach. She also assumed that the gun she had yet to use was either extremely weak or no use at all which meant she would have no surprise ranged attacks to look out for. If she was right then she would be in the safe if not she would be wide open to any ranged attacks Alicia had left as she moved in one Alicia's location. The feeling of sending her blade through S sent a chill down her spine, no matter how many lives she took the feeling still made her shiver at how easy it was to take away something as precious as one's life. The scythe hit her afterwards but thanks to the enchantment she put on her armour the blade was unable to pierce it or cause any damage but the impact of it still stung. "More alive than you are right now." Katherina would whispers to her in reply, unaware of if she was still alive to hear her or not. Katherina was successful and she would pull her sword from her chest and step back allowing her body to fall to the ground as it pleased. She would then turn to Vayne in time to see K initiate his attack against Vayne. Run Vayne I'm coming. she would think to him and begin to move towards them as fast as she could but Vayne ignored her and stood his ground. Vayne didn't care that K didn't care bout his companion dying but would did get to him was K's comment that basically meant that Vayne was a coward. Normally a comment as immature from someone of no importance would not have gotten to him but in this case the fact was that K was right. While Katherina had put her life on the line to do what had to be done, Vayne had retreated and played IT safe. The thought urked him and with K's incoming attack he saw a chance to clear him name, not for K or Katherina but for himself. The blade was coming and so was K so Vayne decided to meet them halfway and charged as well. Katherina knew what he was planning to do as soon as the thought crossed his mind. "DON'T DO IT VAYNE!" She would shout to him but Vayne would ignore her once again and instead whisper to himself. "I can do this." As the blade came Vayne would allow it to hit him in his upper right chest but continue charging forward, the blade continuing to pass through him but Vayne would continue forward, the pain it caused him to much to hold in. "AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!" He would yell until he was in range of K and thrust his sword forward at his heart. Whether this attack failed or succeeded Vayne would be hurt badly and probably be knocked unconscious by the pain alone. Lucky Katherina would be at his side not long after and be able to finish K off if Vayne's attack didn't do the job and if it did she would be there to aid her hurt ally. |

The situation she was in wasn't something she would have liked. She would have much preferred to have had a full out brawl instead, rather than all the hiding and cover and overly thinking. The biggest trouble behind mages was just working around their and trying to figure out what the limits were. There was less of having to do that in a physical battle, ones that she particularly enjoyed. She didn't mind fighting mages, as it just provided her an outlet for her hate of mages, but fights against those with strategic abilities rather than enhancing abilities meant that the battle would be much slower paced than she would prefer. Should Irelia have had only the one technique of the arm blade or even the ice projectile, she would have happily dealt with the fight. Those techniques were more one-dimensional, allowing her to know exactly what was going on. The circular technique was more of a wild card style technique, and if Irelia had any more of those up her sleeve it meant that the fight would have to be dealt with in the cautious manner that Alice was proceeding with. It was relatively clear, though, when Alice positioned herself behind the tree, that Irelia would have no other choice other than to approach her or use more projectile attacks. Alice had no intention of getting out from behind the tree until the circle had wore itself out. There was no point fighting somewhere where she was at a complete disadvantage. The only avenue of attack that was even vaguely plausible with her current abilities were swinging at Irelia from outside the circle. One of the problems with that though was that Eris wasn't quite long enough for her to actually connect with any of the blunt attacks if Irelia stood in the complete center of the circle. Then again she could plausibly have used Nyx or her FOG 5000 to some extremely minor effect. The ammunition issue was what stopped her from actually attempting to do this, though she was relatively sure she would have been able to hit Irelia; two shots were probably not enough to do her in enough to get her to exit the circle. So when Irelia approached she knew she had made the correct choice. It seemed that Irelia's decision was merely to charge at her with a concealed knife; it was a strange decision, but one that Alice was willing to work with. Noting the two shots remaining for Nyx, she fired off a shot with her left hand before setting Nyx to her right side. There was no waiting to see if it connected, because waiting any longer would then give Irelia a bigger advantage than she probably deserved. A straight attack was definitely less effective than using any sort of technique to fight, especially for such a technique reliant mage. Her left arm raised over her head, grabbing the end of the neck. She held it there as she stepped slightly out from behind the tree, ready to receive the attack. If Irelia continued to run forward, Alice would merely swing horizontally towards Irelia's midsection as hard as she could once she entered Alice's range. Even if Irelia had a bladed weapon, the reach difference between the knife and guitar would be enough to avoid return damage. I really should get a weapon with an even longer reach, she thought to herself, awaiting the attack. While the knife indicated some depletion of magical energy, she doubted herself lucky enough for that to have happened and considered the possibility of a technique that was currently hidden. S fell quite quickly, no more words escaping her mouth. The scythe, immediately after connecting with Katherina's armor, glanced off and prepared for another attack. But, as S's eyes faded to black, the scythe itself disappeared, as did the hat on her head. They both disappeared in a puff of black smoke. K's eyes, for only a split second, darted over towards S, the smoke relatively distinct. It had happened previously when he had knocked out S, considering the hat being the source of the abilities, but apparently the hat itself was a conjured item that was constantly maintained by S. K knew that this time, though, it was from death that the hat disappeared. Gotta clean that little kid up after this, he thought, refocusing. He would figure out what to do with the body later. The headlong charge towards his opponent probably seemed to be a little rash on the part of K, but what charging in with the sword extending effectively did was provide an even higher speed than either his sword or he himself could perform alone. Dodging at a close distance would have probably proved near impossible, or at least preventing getting away with anything other than extremely painful wounds. Counterattack against his sword was even more difficult, considering that his sword was at least four times longer than any sword his opponents he encountered ever used. Even if they parried he could simply regain sword momentum and swing again before they even got close. “What will you do now?!” he yelled, still charging. The response from Vayne was nearly instantaneous, as it seemed that he had decided on his course of action. K looked as Vayne fell into the trap running straight at him. K assumed that Vayne would merely try to parry the attack and go in for a piercing strike once more, but he was ready to take the momentum of the parry to swing around and cut Vayne in half. There was a strange moment, though, because when the tip was right next to Vayne, he didn't parry, instead letting it pierce his own body. It was a move that K had not considered, as the move was very nearly suicide; his initial thought was immediately, Victory, but when he saw that Vayne was continuing along the sword he realized that there was different plan at hand. In his panic, he watched as Vayne thrust towards him, and in order to prevent certain death he released his sword in both hands, turning his body towards the left, presenting his right side instead towards Vayne. The sword pierced between his shoulder blade and shoulder, stuck there. The move had made it so that K's speed accounted for nothing, as he could not have predicted the attack. K yelled in pain, not dead, but rendered relatively immobile considering the sword stuck in his body. “What the fuck is this?!” he yelled, pain searing through his whole body. His eyes shut, trying to block out the pain, unsuccessfully. “Just die!” He wondered who would perish in the situation, both of them taking very dangerous amounts of damage. He knew that he had no energy to attack again, but he only had to outlast his opponent and hopefully the other Raven Tail mage would come to recover him after she finished off her opponent. |

I totally forgot . . .

With exhausted options Irelia had decided to attack her opponent head on with an alternative weapon, which she had very little experience with. It was a last resort and before today she never had the need to use it. Alice had gotten what she wanted, Irelia had left her circle and her advangtage over her enemy with it. She was on edge ready to move out of the way at the first sign of Alicia shooting at her. Irelia was certainly overwhelmed if anything, she had begun this battle thinking that it would be quick and easy, making a good story to tell when she returned to Raven Tail. Instead she was now reaching her limits, exhausting all her abilities and resorting to a weapon she had never used in combat before. Irelia's ice circle which she left behind would fully disappear now as it's duration expired. As Irelia expected Alicia responded to her approach with the firing her gun at her from behind the tree which she hid. Irelia was waiting for the attack thinking that her chances of evading the fired bullet would increase if she saw when Alicia shot it. She was wrong and instead she would bring her hand over her face to insure it was protected and the bullet who hit her in her upper left chest. It hurt as much as the first one did another blue-black spot on her skin but she would ignore the pain and continue with her charging approach. She was nearing the tree now and once within range prepared herself for a fight as she got a slight glimpse of Alicia preparing to move from behind the tree. She would take the guitar to her midsection and the blow would knock the wind out of her body and the knife she held out of her hand, this wasn't what she was expecting. She knew Alicia would attack her but with her disabled right hand she deduced that she would attack with her left but wasn't expecting a left handed attack to do this much damage. She couldn't breath but would still mange to use her right hand which was now empty to grab on tight to Alicia's guitar and move the entire left of her body back with a left footed step backwards, in an attempt to bring Alicia in close. "Ice Blade." She would say with her last breath and thrust her damaged right hand, which would undergo it's brief transformation to a blade, at Alicia's chest. Whether the attack was successful or not Alicia would drop to her knees afterwards, sticking her ice blade into the ground to hold up her body then hang her head coughing and grasping for air. Although the attack had her downed at the moment she would soon regain her bearings and attempt to begin fighting again. "You little bitch, that really hurt." She would try and say to Alicia but still gasping for the air to return to her lungs her statement came out as a whisper. Vayne was to obstructed by the unbearable pain he was currently undergoing to pay attention to S or Katherina, his only concern was K. Vayne had taken a chance he normally would not have. Was it necessary? Could I have taken him out some other way? These and questions of a similar nature would haunt him as he considered if this attack would take his life. His sacrifice would payoff however as his attempted attack on K would connect with a potentially climactic blow and the doubts and questions would subside. "How's that for scared of dying." He would say as K dealt with the sword that was now lodged in his shoulder. Vayne would drop to his knees afterwards and raise his head to the sky, K's sword still stuck in him. He wouldn't even attempt to remove it or make any kind of movements at all as he was now in a state between consciousness and unconsciousness. His body refused to move paralyzed by pain but he refused to be the first of them to fall, keeping himself upright by conjuring every last strand of willpower within him. Anytime now Katherina. Unless you want me to die. He would think to Katherina since thinking was probably the only thing he was capable of doing at the moment. He had satisfied himself, proved what he had to with his insane attack. The rest was up to Katherina now. Katherina wasn't hurt physically but she could feel Vayne's perception of his pain in his thoughts and what hurt her even more was the fact that the person she had sworn to protect had been badly hurt and she watched it happen. Ignoring the fact that she couldn't have done anything to prevent what happened from happening. You idiot why would you do something like that just to prove a point to some idiot. She would think to him as she whizzed past him tears running slowly down her checks and attempt to plunge her sword into K's heart and release it. Whether her attack was successful or if K had somehow dodged or redirected her attack Katherina would send her currently equipped Arsenal back and her initial casual outfit would return the sword that came with the arsenal disappearing as well. She would walk to Vayne with a quickened pace and once in front of him grab K's sword by the hilt. I didn't do it for that asshole Kat, I did it for us. He would think before Katherina pulled the length of the sword out of Vayne's body and let it fall to the ground. Vayne would begin falling to the ground upon it's removal but Katherina would catch him mid fall and guide him gently to the ground. "You did good Vayne." Katherina would whisper in her fallen allies ears as he went unconscious. She would then proceed to tend to his wounds as best as she could with what she had and as quickly as she could, her main concern being the entry and exit woulds cause by K's blade. As Irelia approached Alice noticed that the ice circle had fully disappeared. Alice drew from that that the ice circle was either based on proximity or it was by a standard duration. There was no way to be completely sure because Irelia had left the circle before the circle disappeared; that left either option still viable, as if it was duration based then she would have known just by Irelia still being within her protective zone until it ran out. The way that it ran out while leaving it meant that while it could be proximity based, it could also have timed out coincidentally right as Irelia began to leave in order to attack. It was yet another thing that Alice had to keep in her mind, considering the possibility of the technique coming back. Alice assumed that the damage between the two of them meant that the fight would end sooner rather than later, but she still wanted to keep a mental record of all the techniques used and her theories about each one so she could easily deal with them as they came. The guitar struck solidly along Irelia's side, the satisfying hit resonating along the strings. The knife was very luckily knocked out of Irelia's hand, but she realized that it made enough sense. All it meant was that the force of the guitar had made Irelia disregard all other operations in order to react to the attack; it was the advantage given to Alice by the sheer range of the guitar. It seemed, though, that her opponent wasn't finished, not quite ready to give up and just die. That was fine with her, so long as there were not any more tricks up their sleeve, ones that would require Alice to quickly figure out and counter. Rather than do anything tricky like attempting to freeze the guitar, though Alice wasn't positive she could do, she instead merely braced it using her right hand to hold it in place. While doing this, the opponent took a step backwards with one foot, forcing a slight step forward unless eh wanted to let go of her guitar; knowing that it was her current primary weapon she did not want to let go of it so easily so she just moved with the momentum provided. The attack that Irelia pulled forth was not a new one, especially because, like almost all the idiotic mages, she telegraphed what the attack was going to be. It was her arm ice blade that she had used a little bit eariler, which was more convenient for a dodge than the projectile; even before the ice blade actually appeared she knew what technique was coming up. Figuring that there was little time to react and knowing that there was always the chance that Irelia would just shoot a close range projectile again, Alice tried to figure the best course of action, deciding on something quickly, even if it wasn't the best idea for her own comfort. Irelia had released Alice's guitar in order to commit to the attack with her right hand, which offered Alice a little opportunity. Since she was not sure how she would deal with a close range blade as she was facing, she decided that the best course of action would be to meet the head on. Finally forcing her right arm to move, but with very little major power behind it, she opened her palm of her right hand quickly to accept the ice blade. It punctured her hand and Alice braced herself as she felt it cut through, but that was all she needed. It secured Irelia at a good angle, because even if Alice was pierced the fact that it was Irelia's own hand meant that she could not merely drop the weapon, it was stuck until Alice's hand was left alone. Alice had wanted to grip onto Irelia's ice blade, but found the pain too extreme to do anything but ignore her right arm for the time being; she gritted her teeth as her eyes welled up in pain. “Fuckin' mage, deal with this!" She twirled around her body and guitar in her left hand counter-clockwise while keeping the ice blade in her hand until Alice was three fourths of the way through the rotation. At that point the ice blade itself was released after slicing through more of her hand. But that was a pain she had to ignore and to accept, at least for the moment. She swung the guitar around once again, this time with full body momentum to make up for her lack of strength and energy, aiming it towards Irelia's head. She figured that if she wasn't able to connect it would be due to a dodge, so she tried to keep the blade in her hand as long as possible in order to avoid that. K was at the point of pain where he could no longer form any coherent sentences, or even put together more simple words. He had been in similar situations in the past, even in just training, so this was not unusual to him. The main worry was actually dying to the kid, something that he was not completely willing to do. Unfortunately, though he could only will for the kid to die before he himself perished. Neither of them seemed particularly capable of fighting anymore, after all. K's eyes remained closed, trying to force any and all energy to just remain standing. It was his speed and power that was his pride, he wasn't as tough as some of the other Raven Tail mages he had met. Sure he could take them out given certain circumstances, but once his speed was trumped they were usually able to conquer him. It was because of his eyes being closed, both because of pain and merely trying to stay alive, that he was unable to hear Katherina approaching. It wouldn't have mattered, though, knowing the damage to his body, as he wouldn't have been able to retaliate anyway. His upper body was incredibly damaged, and though he would have possibly been able to run he was kept in place by the swords of both him and Vayne. There was little pain felt, though, as Katherina made her attack onto K's heart; most of his body had gone almost numb with pain from Vayne's almost Pyrrhic victory. So as the blade plunged into his body, he felt nothing. All he noticed was that the pain was fading and gving way to blackness. K's hand dropped, his sword stuck in Vayne for a moment until Katherina decided to pull it out. At that moment, the sword's blade disappeared into yet another black puff of smoke, leaving only the hilt there before that too went away in the same manner. It was, yet again, another conjured weapon, K's only method of attack that could be manipulated because of its created nature. And silence fell on their side of the forest. |

Irelia was feeling a mixture of emotions at the moment, she felt proud of herself despite the outcome of the battle, if anything she had at least made an impression on Alice showing her how powerful mages where. She blamed no one but herself for the outcome however but her own weakness. What did get to her though was the fact that Alice had done it without magic. She wouldn't tell this story to anyone back at Raven Tail if she survived but would instead use it as motivation to get stronger and challenge Alice again when she got stronger. Using her Ice Blade technique was out of nothing but desperation, Alicia's guitar to chest hurt, a lot, and she was sure it was going to put her on the ground. She wasn't expecting much from the ice blade other than to do some damage to her before the battle ended and she was able to do just that. Alicia took the Ice Blade in her right arm and upon seeing this Irelia felt hopeful for a moment that the attack would put Alicia down long enough for her to recover from the guitar attack but this hope was quickly diminished as Irelia realised that the attack had a surprise effect and lodged itself in Alicia's arm. Alice used this to her advantage and after repositioning Irelia with the help of the Ice Blade in her hand Alice was able to use the momentum of her spin and and slam her guitar with immense power into the side of Irelia's head and Irelia had no say in the matter. She couldn't evade as she was currntly down on her knees and exhaustion made it impossible for her to utilise her ice blade to block the attack. The guitar connected and the attack was powerful enough to knock Irelia unconscious and toss her entire body to the ground. "You better kill me bitch unless you want to watching your back from now on." would be Irelia's last words as she fell unconscious. It was over and Katherina exhaled a sigh of relief. With their combined powers they were able to defeat members of Raven Tail. As weak a guild as they thought it to be it was a guild all the same and K and S would have had to been of a certain level of power to be in a guild and they were able to defeat them when they belonged to none.. Katherina sat next to Vayne's unconscious body only just finished bandaging his wounds with K and S's clothes which she had torn off and used. The bleeding had finally stopped but he was yet to regain consciousness. It was the aching in her chest that make her shoot up to her feet, like someone grabbing her by the heart and squeezing on it. She would respond by grabbing uselessly at her chest and yelling out in pain, a loud scream that echoed through the forest. She didn't know what it was until she dropped to her knees in pain and her headed ended up on Alexus chest. He was dying she could tell by the rhythm of his heart beat, slow and strained. And if Vayne was dying it meant that the pain she was feeling was there debonding, as the bond between the two if them was being severed. Katherina was connected to Alexus in several different ways much more than a mere pact there magical energies and souls were connected and the feeling of this bond being broken caused her much more than physical pain. "NO! NO! NO! Vayne wake up you're not dying here." She would scream as she climbed on top of him and began pumping on his chest in an attempt to get his heart back to beating as normal. "Vayne please don't die, I know I won't remember if you do but I don't care I can't lose you, please wake up." She would say not as loud this time. 'Speaking' to him this time instead of screaming at him as she did before. He didn't reply and instead just laid there. Stop it Kat, I've lost too much blood, it can't be helped, but look on the bright side we did it our first and ironically our last train heist. The sound of his thoughts in her head was a relief despite the message. No it can't be we just started . . . , You just started living." She would say stopping her attempt to revive him and resting her head on his chest tears trickling down her face. This was it for Vayne he was about to die but while he did agree it wasn't the best reason to lose his life he wasn't going to fight it, Katherina was with him and what else could someone else ask for at death other than not to die alone. |

The pain, shooting through Alice's hand, was nearly unbearable. Such a fuckin' stupid idea, she thought to herself, her arm still mid-flight aimed at Irelia's skull. It was apparent that Irelia had no more energy left to resist the attacks, and Alice saw it that as she followed through, connecting cleanly with Irelia's head. The moment it connected Alice knew that the fight was done. There was little that anyone could do against a full swing of a guitar towards their head. The ice blade that Irelia had conjured up had horribly injured her right arm, and she let it swing down with the pain that surged through her body. She felt like she herself would pass out from it, but all she could do was relax that arm and make sure that she wouldn't strain it too much. One of the major items of business to attend to though was what to do with the mage. She was still breathing, but barely so. Holding the guitar pointed down towards Irelia, Alice caught her breath. The fight had left her without much time to actually relax except for that singularly temporary moment when she was behind the tree. But even then she had to focus on the opportunities of attack at the time, so she had not been able to fully tend to her injuries. Her mouth was neutral, though almost a scowl, as she looked down at the mage in front of her. Alice squatted down next to Irelia's unconscious body. “Ya know, I've heard of legendary warriors that took on their enemies and then when they defeated them, they left the half-dead opponent there just to wallow away in their defeat. Then, the defeated warrior would come back and try to re-challenge the warrior with a new sense of purpose! Ain't that cool? You did pretty well today, as far as mages go. Wouldn't it be fun if we could just fight again and I could crush you over and over until you lost all will to ever fight again?” She spoke in a loud tone as usual; it was a monologue, by all reasonable interpretations, as Irelia was clearly unable to hear a word. Alice stood up promptly and turned away. After a step, she turned quickly to face Irelia's unconscious body again. “Just fuckin' with ya. Die!” She yelled as she took a large step, her guitar in the air. The edges of her mouth turned upwards into a maniacal grin as she brought down the guitar, knowing it would take quite a few swings to get the job completely done. Covered in blood, Alice walked through the trees slowly, going towards the general direction she had seen the other mages go towards. She would have preferred to go more silently than her pathetic attempts at stealth at current, but considering her injuries she could barely manage moving. Her guitar hanging from her back and her clothes were all covered in blood, and a majority of it wasn't even hers. Her injuries worked well with a slow pace, because she didn't want to be running and then suddenly run into the two other mages that were with Irelia. In her current state she would have instantly died to them depending on their skill. So she approached with extreme caution. In her left hand was the briefcase that they had aimed to steal the whole time. She had almost forgotten about it, remembering that getting the chance to kill mages wasn't the only reason she had decided to take on the mission. That would have been a pointless venture that might have possibly gotten her killed for little more than entertainment. As little as she liked being bored she would never suicide into a fight without there being a chance for her to practically gain something other than fun. Dying for nothing wasn't her style. A part of her wondered who the other two mages were that followed Vayne and Katherina into the forest, and she wondered if they were able to have killed each other off. Or, better yet, both parties dying would have even been an acceptable turnout, as it would just mean that she would get all the briefcases from the train raid. But she knew better than to keep her hopes up, especially when it came to people dying when it would possibly benefit her. It was fine, though, she was satisfied with the bloodshed of the day, even if the other two had flawlessly defeated their opponents. The risk had paid off, with the mages being of reasonable skills so that Irelia wasn't able to overpower Alice during their fight; in fact it had turned into a battle of attrition, something that she wasn't particularly proud of, but accepted as it gave her the victory. Alice's right arm still dropped blood down it, but not as quickly as it had once been. She was not positive whether that was a good thing or a bad thing, but as long as she was still able to move she did not really care what the true affects were. As she continued to walk though there was a distraction from the pain and blood. It was someone yelling, definitely Katherina's voice. So long as she was still alive that meant that Alice could approach with a little more confidence that there was not as much harm. Even if the other two attacking mages were alive, the fact that Katherina was still able to yell meant that there was just a perpetual distraction until Katherina perished. Alice neared the cleaing, approaching, but staying further into the forest, enough so to cover her location from whoever was still fighting. Alice sat down, exhausted, about forty meters away, not bothering to approach any closer. “Tirin' shit, you better be worth it,” she said, sliding the briefcase on her lap. |

I totally forgot . . .

Katherina was to occupied to realise Alicia's initial appearance at the scene, a few minutes had past already and she could feel Vayne slipping away beneath her. The pain in her chest had lessened but still there and she could feel the the unbinding process coming to it's end, she was going to lose her memories. Katherina held nothing back at this point as she laid on Vayne's slowing dying body crying to heart content. She didn't know if it was always like this in her 'past lives', if she had to go through this type of pain every time one of her master passed but, if that was the case then she was grateful she lost her memories every time it happened. Katherina couldn't imagine forming a bond with anyone else if this was where her journey with Vayne ended, she would rather die with him. Vayne was contempt if anything in his final moments, he had lived quite the life even though that life only truly begun when he met Katherina. She was the only person in the world that cared about him and she had made his life worth living, she was the mother he lost and the sister he never had. She had been his protector and was always at his side no matter what the circumstances and that having that reassurance of knowing he wasn't alone had made his life worth living. But this was the end and he knew it but he was thankful that he spent his last moments with Katherina and that she was at his side as she always was as he drew his last breaths. Katherina had begun by blaming herself for what happened, but deep down she knew it wasn't. She blamed K but he was dead she blamed S but she was dead as well. Katherina was hurting and grieving so obviously when she finally realised Alicia's presence, in her desperation to find someone she could codem for what happened to Vayne she blamed her. Not because she had disliked her since the minute they met but more because there was no one else. "Of course, you're the one who encouraged all this, if he hadn't met you he would have never did this. You killed Vayne!" She would say the words coming out like the banterings of an insane person, but with her clouded judgement she convinced herself it was Alica's fault. She stood to her feet and wiped the tears out of her eyes then turned to look directly at Alicia where she sat. "YOUR FAULT! YOUR FAULT! YOUR FAULT!" She would shout at Alicia as she began her advance on her position. She was filled anger was the dominant emotion at the moment and there was no way to tell what she would do. It's her fault were here, she's alive and he's about to die it's not fair she has to die to. She would think to herself and when she almost on Alicia. Do I even have to say it Kat. Vayne would think to her and she would just stop no more than a meter away from Alicia then after a brief moment she would just scream at her and drop to her knees and start crying again. Even if she didn't want to believe it she knew who was to blame and at that moment she accepted it, Vayne had made his decision of his own free will and what resulted was his fault alone. After sitting down for a few moments, Alice let herself rest backwards, still wary of her injured arm and attempting to put any unnecessary strain on the wound. With the blood flow slowing, she knew that moving it too quickly or putting tons of pressure on the arm would cause the wound to start up again. The pain had reduced somewhat, but it had mainly been her getting slowly used to having two major wounds constantly ringing the feeling of pain throughout her arm. Blood covered her face, but she didn't particularly mind, after all most of her body was covered in it. Her right arm rested on top of her, making sure not to get it on the ground, as she knew more of where to place her arm relative to her body as opposed to the random floor of the forest she was in. But she relaxed for a few moments, closing her eyes and almost ignoring Katherina's little cries; she was, after all, just trying to figure out what to do with the rewards they just reaped. So dumb that one of them survived, she thought regretfully to herself. If they would just both die that would have made thigns so much more convenient. The death of five mages would have been a good haul at the end of the day in her books, after all. She did smile, though, hoping that there was a chance that Katherina really was that weak, weak enough to end her own life. Alice had heard of such scenarios occurring elsewhere, companions being bound to one another to the extent that they willingly took their own life if the other one perished. From the sounds of it, Vayne might have been dead, or possibly just near death; Alice was a little less interested than she probably should have been, especially after finding out that the other survived. If Katherina was alive that probably meant that she would take that share, considering the two of them seeming to be of a hive mind. That's so dumb, she said, propping herself up with her left arm. What made her ears perk up, though, was the sound and feeling of more extreme sorrow turned into anger. She heard Katherina's stupid words from her position, and Alice stood up with a slight grin. “Hahaha, this is the so-called strength of those that rely on companions, little more than a superficial pretense that is broken once one falls,” she said with a slight laugh. She didn't even try to correct Katherina; even if she could be bothered to, someone in such a stupid state wouldn't have been able to listen to anything anyway. In truth, they had stumbled upon her and indeed interrupted her robbery. They had been the ones to bring up the plan. They had been the ones without the correct or full information that should have been included in their plan. And, almost most importantly, they had been the ones to almost kill themselves to defeat their enemies. Katherina stood up and looked over at Alice, with Alice standing in return and reaching over for her FOG 5000; Alice pointed it straight towards Katherina. It was such an unusual weapon that it would afford at least a surprise attack, even if the surprise attack did little more than possibly the equivalent of a soft slap on the face depending on how fast Katherina was running. It was to be used in the event of Katherina actually following through with her possible attack on Alice. She laughed as Katherina approached her, as if to goad her into an attack. A battle would probably not turn out well for Alice, but she was well-prepared to have to fight once more if it was completely necessary. Even in such a disadvantageous position, she figured that she would be able to figure out some sort of advantage to use. But all the planning became unnecessary even with her goading laughter, because as Katherina began to get closer and closer, she suddenly dropped to her knees and started crying again. Alice stopped laughing, and looked at her with no pity. Instead, Alice's eyes were filled with a mixture of distance and malice. Distance from Katherina's felt pain, and malice enforced in her words. Her left hand fell to her side, and she put her FOG 5000 away. She spoke with no kindness in her voice, “Yeah, go ahead and blame me. Or blame that boy dying or dead on the floor over there, I don't give a fuck. But really, sweetie,” she called her with all the irony she could muster, kneeling to get on her level and look her in the eye,”it's your fault. Ya told me not even that much earlier in the day that ya'd kill me if I tried to harm him. Where was all that talk? All that strength? Ya have none, that's where it is. Not even the strength to die to protect him from harm. If ya wanna try and kill me, be my guest. But ya know what? If you have that kinda strength, that means ya didn't use it all during the battle. That's strength that coulda saved him.” Alice spoke with the most cruel words she could choose. She then stood up. Turning her back to Katherina and Vayne, she laughed crazily again for a moment. “Hahahahaha. But hey, if he dies, come find me and try ta kill me some time. I ain't gunna kill ya right now, ya ain't worth nothin' the way ya are.” She waved her left hand, walking out towards the tracks. “But, at least that boy had the guts to fight with death nearby. That's an actual fighter for ya. Ya can't be scared shitless and cry after every fuckin' fight. You're better off bein' like those people in town, livin' a normal life. Ya ain't suited for this, even if ya got the strength.” ooc

Katherina listened to every word Alicia said to her as she knelt there, and as she spoke Katherina would use every last bit of everything in her to respect Vayne's dying wish and not kill her where she stood. Alicia had been wounded during her battle while Katherina had barely a single scratch on her. It wouldn't be hard to slit her throat on the spot with ease and make this clearing in the forest the grave not three but four people. However Vayne would never forgive her if she did and instead Katherina restrained herself. She wouldn't even reply to anything Katherina would say as the thread holding her back was a thin one indeed. Everything that Alicia had spouted from the moment they had met had been nothing the the rambling of a mentally unstable, psychopathic person to Katherina and what she was saying now was no exception, why Vayne had put up with it she couldn't understand. When Alicia had finished talking and began walking away Katherina would move to her feet and look at her as she left, the temptation to end her was strong but she let her go. Vayne didn't have long again but before Katherina returned to him she retrieved the pair of briefcases they had to see what Vayne had sacrificed himself for. She returned to his side then and opened the two briefcases one after the other. Katherina's only reaction to what was inside could be laughter. Two deeds one in each case, for empty plots of land somewhere in one of the industrial cities of Fiore. Valuable if you were a business owner looking to open a business, but other than that they were useless pieces of paper. Maybe you could sell it if you knew the right people for a high price but no one was stupid enough in this day and age to buy stolen property, especially since the Love & Lucky merchants would probably report it stolen and the minute word of a black market sale of land surfaced what ever mages they hired or the knights according to who they went to, would be on your tail. Katherina looked down to Vayne where he laid. All that for nothing. She would think to Vayne laughing again because it was the only emotion she had she had left to express. It was fun though and you know what they say. It's the journey that matters. Vayne would think back to her and she would just sigh. I don't think that applies to situations where that journey kills you Vayne. She would think back. Yeah I think you're right Kat. He would reply and despite his current situation she could still hear his usually happy, eccentric tone in his voice and it comforted her. Almost two minutes had past and no thoughts had been exchange between the two. Katherina just sat there next to him as life slipped slowly away from him. I hope your next master isn't an ass. Vayne would think to her breaking the 'silence'. What new master? She would ask sounding honestly unaware which wasn't right since she knew what happened to her when her current master died. There won't be a next master because I'm not going through this again Vayne, this ends here." She would explain before Vayne could ask. Apparently Katherina had decided upon something in that short period of silence. Katherina would rest her hands on Vayne's chest and take a few deep breaths. I'm not going to sit here and let you die Vayne, I'm going to save you by taking you away from here, by taking you home with me. Would be Katherina's final thoughts to Vayne before a bright light surrounded them, similar to that of when she used her exquip magic and in an instant they were both gone, To Katherina's home, wherever that was ending their lives on this plain to continue on another.
