Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Artorius remained at a fixed distance away from Ignis. Or well at the very least he tried but the damned thing was managing to keep up with his frenetic pace as he accelerated his movements and footwork, doing his absolute best to stay away from it and its claws as well as its whirling blades positioned on either side of its head. The man ducked down just in time as it twirled around like a top, whirling the blades on the side of its head like a propeller but just barely missing its mark. That was quite fortunate for the man as he would have definitely gotten at least half of his head lopped off, and getting any part of your head cut off isn't exactly fun times. Except well, you know, when you're getting a hair cut or something but it's not like hair cuts are exactly fun anyway.

Diving to the side, Ignis slammed one of its clawed appendages down to the ground where the man had just landed, repeating this motion over and over as Artorius rolled away before suddenly scrambling back up to his feet just in time for it to strike with its other set of blades. However, as he leapt to the side Artorius was cut through his armor, sliced along his right side. It wasn't a life threatening wound but it wasn't necessarily a narrow gash. It was one which would slow him down and cause him to second guess his abilities as the fight progressed. However, as the fight was just heating up it suddenly came to a close, at least with Relius and Ignis anyway.

Frustrated with his son's inadequacies, Lucius Malcal, the Gray King suddenly decided to knock out his subordinate and participate in the fight himself. Frankly it was a miracle that he was able to stand, let alone knock out a grown man after tasting the knockout chemical solution. However, perhaps he was merely so physically capable and durable that his naturally powerful physiology managed to reject the substance, or simply they had diluted it a bit too much in the food. Whatever it was, Lucius surrounded himself in an aura fitting for the color of his title, with his aura projecting a solid crown above his head. With a fearsome swing, Lucius sent forth a punch towards Artorius. The punch itself missed by a long shot but the aura itself was projected outward, knocking Artorius hard against the wall and causing him to spit blood out of his mouth.

Things most definitely didn't look good for the pair as the Gray King himself stepped up to the plate in place of the son he'd just knocked out, if he had the power to simply do away with the man with a flick of his wrist then what would he be able to do to them?

Unlike his son Relius the Gray King wasn't one to waste his time or his energy in idle small talk or procrastination and before either of the thieves had time to even understand what had just happened the first attack was made. It seemed like the punch that the man made was aimed at a ghost or something given that he was so very far away from either of the thieves but as the force from the punch was sent out it struck Artorius square on and sent his body hurtling backwards into the hard stone wall behind him. "Artorius!" Instinctively and impulsively Artesia's voice called out with panic and concern for her comrade/friend and while it of course held emotions and significance there was even more to it than met the eye; it was the first time that she'd actually used his name outside of their introductions. Of course with that said it wasn't as though she had time to notice that given their current situation.

As the dust settled around Artorius and she could see that he was at least alive Artesia found herself infuriated beyond belief, how dare that old bastard do that! "Bastard!" She cried in anger while racing towards him with blades drawn. She was fast and even more so given her anger and adrenaline fuelled state and it proved to be just fast enough to catch the Gray King off guard momentarily. Or was it just that he didn't care in the slightest if the woman came closer to him? It was hard to say given what happened next.

Metres away from the man Artesia seemed capable of doing some damage, or at least preventing the man from doing anything else to injure her friend, unfortunately though it wasn't to be and it became glaringly obvious incredibly quickly as Artesia found herself being effectively countered in the blink of an eye. As her blades neared him the man smirked and with a stomp of his foot to the ground beneath him a powerful force struck Artesia square on, she didn't go flying away though as you would expect for the force wasn't one which had been created with that intention in mind, instead the force was enough to render her unable to move as her senses failed her and her balance was essentially rendered null void.

In the moments she stood there wavering and unable to move the Gray King gave a mocking and insulting scoff before adding insult to injury, "So feeble." With that he gave a mere flick of his wrist as if dismissing a servant from his presence, one which had the same force following it as the punch that had taken Artorius by surprise. Struck by it Artesia's body hurtled through the air coming only to a rest as she slammed into the ground quite the distance away and sliding for several more metres she came to a stop somewhere in between Artorius and the king himself.

Artorius vision blurred and the remainder of his senses and his grips on reality and consciousness rapidly dulled as the pain settled in. The pain from his wound he had received from Ignis burned like fire as it was exposed to the air and the pain receptors in his nerves near his wound all fired in glorious unison. Meanwhile, the sheer force of the blow that he had received from Lucius was overwhelmingly powerful to the point where he heard an audible snap and wasn't sure if he had broke his ribs again or not. Though perhaps it was simply the shock of the sudden unexpected onslaught which tore through him.

As the man struggled to retain his consciousness and desperately tried to claw his way back onto his feet he saw a faint glimmer of crimson in front of him. At first he thought it was blood, be it his or Relius' or Artesia's. But, after his vision gradually returned to him with enough clarity to properly visualize his surroundings he realized it was Artesia's idle form. Sensing that she was in trouble, Artorius pushed himself back up to his feet, using his sword to prop himself up but his legs and knees felt much too weak, and it felt like each wheezed breath of air he drew into his lungs wasn't sufficient enough.

Realizing that the man was conscious, Lucius approached Artesia with a single step before outstretching a hand towards her. In a moment, a gray hand encapsulated her form, holding her in front of Artorius as he tortured himself to sum up the strength and willpower to keep fight on. Squeezing her and eliciting a pained groan, Lucius had a devilish grin set across his facial features as he enjoyed himself. To him, these two were the ones who were going to responsible for taking his life away from him. He had to make them suffer at least a little bit.

Sensing that Artesia's life was in perilous danger, or maybe it was merely Artorius' own instincts for his own natural sense of self-preservation, Artorius pushed himself up as his legs wobbled like jelly. As he did so, the man could faintly see a recollection of a previous scene -- he was racing upwards to overcome a gate that he could not reach, but at the very last second a hand was stretched out to grasp his and pull him upwards. Perhaps the vivid image in his head propelled him to carry on, but whatever it was Artorius who managed to stand back up, but not without a bit of assistance.

The man said not a word but even though his face seemed calm, almost as if tranquil, the fury and frustration was clear in his eyes. In a moment, his eyes became swathed and swarmed in magical energy, becoming dense and forming as black smoke which clouded his gaze. Lucius tossed Artesia's idle body off to the side, but only a moment after Artorius targeted Lucius and the very ground he stood upon. After a moment it burst into black smoke which surrounded Lucius, causing the man to claw at his skin and cough uncontrollably. Then, with his enemy stunned, Artorius flung a wave of smoke and spikes which smashed into Lucius. Yet, Lucius' magical aura managed to repel the bulk of the attack, but just as he rose to counterattack Artorius generated smoke into his both of his hands, which he swung hard in the form of a large blade, horizontally sweeping through the room and smacking into Lucius. Lucius was flung hard into the wall but he remained standing, but not before Artorius attacked with the final part of his last ditch effort. Taking in a huge amount of air, Artorius blasted away with a solid stream of smoke, smashing into him.

Once Artorius' assault was over, the man felt to his hands and knees. Yet, much to his chagrin, when the smoke cleared Lucius was still standing. "You damn fool. Neither of you are even remotely capable of defeating me. I'll enjoy ripping you limb from-" the man spoke as he sauntered towards him. But, as he walked, the man's steps slowed gradually and gradually, until he eventually fell over. Was he dead? Nope. After a moment's delay a faint snoring sound could be heard. Looks like visiting the side-quest giver paid off. Louis' solution worked out.

Da da dun dun dun dundundun.

As Artesia struggled to breath after having the air forcefully knocked from her lungs she watched as Lucius stepped towards her with intent, and yet she could do nothing about it, she couldn't even move to save her own life. Every step the man took felt as though it was playing out in slow motion and the sound of each and every one sounded as though it echoed in a taunting fashion, Louis definitely hadn't been kidding when he'd said that they weren't going to be able to beat the guy without his help. The only question was; would they live long enough for said help to actually do its job?

As she felt herself being lifted into the air Artesia could also feel her body being squeezed, unable to stifle the groan of pain that came from it all or quieten her struggling breathing she truly had no idea if she was about to die or not. She mustered the energy to use her force push ability however when it proved not even enough to cause the man's grasp to flinch she felt a sense of resignation overwhelm her, what the hell were they supposed to do against the monster before them? As her mind began to darken and her consciousness began to slip away from her Artesia made a silent wish, one that Artorius would last long enough to either get away or survive, there wasn't really much in the way of saving her now... or so she thought. What came next she would not know of for she was already out cold but that didn't take away from the amazing nature of it all.

Artorius had managed to stagger to his feet in a last ditch effort to not only defeat their enemy but also to save his partner much like she had done for him and in an impressive display of might and willpower he unleashed all of his attacks before falling to his knees completely and utterly exhausted in every possible way. When Lucius emerged from the dust and rubble completely unharmed though it truly did look like the end, not even he could manage to defend them any longer. Or at least, that was how it looked until the man dropped face first to the ground like a sack of potatoes. Yeah, the sedative finally managed to kick in and not a moment too soon. What was that? Anti-climatic? Nah, all planned. *cough*

Still largely unconscious on the ground Artesia's figure lay there still and seemingly lifeless, if Artorius came close enough though he'd be able to notice the very subtle raise and fall to her chest and of course if even closer the steady heartbeat within it. She would awaken shortly or if something help shake her from her slumber but for the time being she was unaware of what transpired.

It was all very admittedly anti-climactic but as long as the two survived Artorius was totally okay with the end-results. The two were beaten and bruised and battered but they still were breathing, even if they were ragged and pained breaths. After Artorius had laid out a huge sum of magical energy, especially all in one go, he was quite tired. Stumbling through ragged breaths, Artorius ended up falling over, very nearly falling right over and on top of Artesia but he managed to manipulate his fall so that he fell beside her instead. Turning towards her, he noticed that her chest was subtlely rising and falling, and after giving her a short shake and nudge she managed to wake up and open her eyes. Artorius couldn't help but start to laugh at the whole ridiculousness of the situation.

In the end, Lucius was a huge idiot who overestimated himself, knocking himself out by being too active and forcing the contents of the vial they poured into his food to seep through his bloodstream. Though, soon as the other members of the household at the soup they would be randomly passing out, but at least it was all diluted enough that they wouldn't die, they'd just wake up feeling very groggy. The worst possible outcome would be that one or two of them drowned in the bowl of soup, and the whole situation just made the man chuckle heartily even though his wounds were burning and aching.

Feeling tired, Artorius pulled himself back up to his feet in a pained groan before offering a hand to Artesia to get her back up on his feet as well. They would have to drag down Lucius to the cellar but fortunately it appeared that there was a stairway which would lead downward. Artorius grabbed the man by the arm and tossed one of his arms over his shoulders, letting Artesia carry the other half of the man's weight.

Soon, they would drag him down the short stairs and then make their way down a corridor which lead to the sub-basement level which featured a stream and some boats which looked like it was meant for either an escape route or shipment delivery. Regardless, they would find a note there written by Louis.

'To whom it may concern:

If you're reading this then I assume that you have done as requested. I must thank you for this as it would have pained me to see things end tragically. He was a fool, but blood is thicker than water as they say. Put him in one of the crates and we will ship him off to a place far from here in Desierto where he will never disturb any of us again. You have my guarantee.

I am forever in your debt.

L.M.'

With a shrug of his shoulders, Artorius lugged the man into a man-length crate before sealing it shut. "Have a safe trip you bastard," Artorius spoke as he hammered the crate's final nail shut.

Artesia's eyes fluttered open to see Artorius's face but a metre or so from her own and as she glanced away for a moment to see Lucius's body on the ground snoring away contently she could see what Artorius found so amusing. By all rights they should have been dead, so dead that dead didn't do their state justice, and yet somehow through the strangest of chances they had done a side quest of sorts that allowed them to live. If it hadn't been for Louis's help and the sedative that he had given them there was no way they could have beaten him.

How was all this funny you ask? Well given the fact that a man as powerful as Lucius himself was snoring his head off so close to them and had for all intensive purposes been taken down by a tiny amount of diluted sedative. Still not funny? Well then, put it down to being bruised, battered and clearly one too many knocks to their heads then. As they lay there chuckling to one another the pair of thieves were doing so through their own pain and likely even while making their wounds and injuries worse, but it was so totally worth it though.

Helping one another the pair of thieves managed to lift the sleeping mass of flesh that was Lucius and together they shared the weight and burden of it all in order to take him down to the cellar where Louis wanted him. As they reached the place though there was no sign of the man in question, what was there though was a note and a large wooden crate. As Artorius read the note out loud Artesia glanced to the large wooden crate and with a smirk she couldn't help but glance down to the man at their feet, "Is it wrong I kinda want him to be Claustrophobic?" Even if he wasn't she was going to pretend he was, it made things that much more satisfying that way.

Together the pair loaded Lucius into the crate and after all of the nails were hammered down by Artorius to seal him inside securely Artesia walked on over with what she'd been looking for in piles of paperwork nearby. "One last thing." Peeling the back from a sticker the woman had a smirk of utter mischief and satisfaction upon her features and slapping it down over the top of the one that read 'fragile' on the crate she put her own evil plan into action. As her hand moved away it revealed that the sticker she'd found and used was one which read 'this way up', why was that so cheeky? Let's just say that it wasn't the right way up. The idea of the man being upside down for his journey or at least a large part of it was so much Artesia couldn't help but give a chuckle as she and Artorius walked away.

"And this, Artesia..." Artorius spoke as he held back a pained bit of laughter as he watched the woman stick a 'this way up' sticker label upside down so that Lucius would be in a rather uncomfortable and compromising position as he made his long voyage as he was transported to Desierto. "...is why I keep you around," Artorius joked as he tossed an armed around her shoulders. Though, as he glanced up at her he knew that his statement was definitely jovial and sarcastic as there were other reasons why he kept her around. Like, her brilliantly warm personality and the fact that she made a great drinking partner. Yep, definitely nothing immoral there. "Now, let's get drunk and celebrate. And, well patch up so we don't bleed to death."

No, but seriously Artorius was just glad to finally be done with everything. After the two finished up here, the man lead the through the corridor and waterway, eventually finding a gate that a easy pick and rake would break open. Once through, it was a short journey through the city until they came across a particular alley where a few presses of the false brick wall would reveal a hidden door. After navigating through the underground tunnel pass that lead to various turning and twisting corridors the two would climb up a staircase which eventually took them back to Artorius' hideout. Resisting the urge to pass out from exhaustion and pain, Artorius grabbed a bottle of alcohol from his safe and a first aid kit and put them on the night stand.

"You know what to do, Artesia. You do me, then I'll do you," the man spoke, referring to the injuries that the two needed to take care of. It felt almost surreal now that they defeated that damned organization. It was rather silly in which they managed to finish it off, but it felt as if it was less so the goal that mattered but more so the journey there. And a lot had happened in the short week since he and Artesia nearly tore each other's heads off while they were trying to steal each other's daggers off of a client job. Yet, it was all over, and right now Artorius just wanted to drink a swig of alcohol and forget about it until later.

With Artorius's arm around her shoulders Artesia was pulled in nice and close to the man but you know what? She didn't have even the slightest of problems with it. "Awww, and here I thought it was for my amazing wit and great sense of humour." She quipped with a smirk and while wrapping her arm around Artorius's shoulders in kind. As he said the lines about going and getting something to drink in order to celebrate there was no hiding just how into that plan the woman was as her face practically beamed, "And now you're speaking my language. Your place?" It was agreed between the two thieves that they would make their way back to Artorius's hideout in order to clean up, path up and fill up and without wasting a moment they set off through alley ways, tunnels and other various places in order to do so.

Arriving back at the all too familiar hideout that they had both shared two times before Artesia and Artorius had to fight the urge to lay down and pass out but with the promise of alcohol and fun times ahead of her Artesia wasn't about to give in any time soon. There was no time or desire to wash up before getting straight to the festivities and so neither of them made for the bathroom, instead Artorius fetched a bottle of alcohol from his nightstand along with the first aid kit. It made sense for them to at least patch one another up though right? Yeah, bleeding to death while drinking wouldn't have been the best way to go, especially not after beating the man at the top of the organisation that had been trying to kill them and all.

To Artorius's rather innuendo laden line about doing one another Artesia could do little more than laugh and shake her head from side to side as her lips curled to a smirk. "I suppose those that's a fair offer." She said while crouching down in front of the man in a somewhat playful manner, "Even if it's not normally the way I'd do things." As her teal eyes looked up at him Artesia was reminded of the time they'd spent in the wardrobe earlier that night and without a clue as to the fact she was doing it she found herself chewing on her bottom lip ever so slightly while she did so. With tender and gentle hands she worked at undoing the various clasps and buckles that secured Artorius's gear to his body and all the while her eyes looked to her work intently as if trying to help her fingertips along with the job.

Once the front/main body piece to his gear was freed Artesia would lift/pull it away to reveal the slice on his frontal right hand side. She'd trace along the edge of it with her finger tips and before even reaching for the first aid kit she'd shake her head slowly from side to side, "Such a waste."

Artorius couldn't help but smirk smugly as the woman undid the various clasps and buckles which secured his armor tightly to his body. As he watched her gaze upon his form while untying the strings, clasps, and buckles, the man pulled down the part of hiw cowl which covered his face before taking off the hood and the cloak which was attached to it. As he did so, it revealed the rather satisfied expression stretched across his face.

As all the clasps and buckles were undone, Artorius pulled off his armor piece by piece, removing the hardened leather padding before pulling off the black body suit off of his body slowly. Once done, he revealed a narrow gash on his right side. It wasn't incredibly deep but it certainly would need some stitches and bandaging. Nevertheless, the man gently plopped down on his mattress to lay down on his left side at which point Artesia would be allowed to run her hands over him and stitch his wound back up, closing it with thread and needle.

Once done and properly bandaged it was Artesia's turn to get her wounds treated. Having her sit on the edge of the mattress, Artorius sat behind her and helped her ease her way out of her jacket which was scuffed from the fight that would then toss out of the way. Once finished with that, Artorius grabbed a bit of alcohol to disinfect her wounds, applying some bandages onto the small but numerous cuts and scrapes that she had endured from the fight. Though, the man notably took his time with running his hands over her slim form, slowly applying the bandages to her almost tantalizingly.

Once again and much like the previous time in which she had stitched the man up Artesia did so with a gentle and somewhat teasing touch, there was a certain kind of fun to be had knowing she was teasing him the way she was but that wasn't to say she didn't get enjoyment out of it too. When it was all over and done with it seemed like it was her turn to suffer much the same fate as she'd dealt him for the man didn't seem like he wanted to rush through the task at hand either.

Struggling against her ticklish nature to stay still and allow the man to treat her wounds Artesia closed her eyes and focused on controlling her muscles and the twitches that they wanted to do through calm and controlled breathing, it was too bad that closing her eyes only lead to her mind beginning to wander. Having been brought straight back to the time in the wardrobe that they had shared much like only minutes earlier she felt his hands trace around her body even worse than she had been before and she didn't fail to notice every time they left the path which they had to take for her wounds. Was he doing it on purpose much like she had been during their last 'doctor and nurse' session? He had to be right, I mean there was no way he was doing it like that by mere coincidence alone.

"Are you trying to tempt me?" Artesia whispered in a tone filled with the desire welling within her, "Because you know I've never been good at resisting temptation." With that said Artesia turned to face Artorius and with a gaze that would not falter she set in motion what would no doubt take them into the morning yet again.

It had only been but days ago that the pair had met one another under false pretences and yet together they had somehow managed to overcome adversity to survive the attacks launched against them by an organisation well above their pay grade. Beaten, battered and overall sore they had what was left of the night to celebrate for when morning came each would find themselves being called back to their own lives, lives which hadn't had the other in it up until recently.

What was next for the pair? Only time would tell. All that was for sure was that it wouldn't be last the world would see of Artorius Sidonis and Artesia Zenaide.
