The events of the last day, hell the last few days were hectic as hell could be. Artorius had been battered, bruised, cut, kicked out of a building, and let's not forget, tenderly held. Yet, there was still a long week ahead of the man as they had just discovered new information that would lead them to their penultimate goal -- discovering who exactly the Gray King is and putting an end to his madness, but only because it involved the two thieves.

But first things first. Artorius had to get out of bed first. Pushing himself up to no avail, Artorius discovered that he wasn't alone in his bed. Much to his surprise, but also to his relief, Artorius found the red-headed woman that had come to be known as his companion during the past few days, a daring thief by the name of Artesia Zenaide, was laying on top of his own form. Her presence explained a lot, namely the dreams he had which involved a difficulty breathing and a constant pain in his side. After all, his ribs were still injured and the woman was practically, no literally laying on top of him, snuggling and cuddling up tightly against him as if he were some sort of hug pillow. Do they sell hug pillows of himself? Cause they should.

Nevertheless, there was one thing that her presence didn't necessarily explain. Just when did she get here, and more importantly, how in the hell did she get here? Artorius' hideout used a mechanism to get in that she didn't see. Yet, somehow, in her infinite guile and sharp wit, she had managed to gain access to the man's secret apartment. Ordinarily, he would protest it a bit as it felt like a bit of compromise on his place's security. But, so far he had no reason to actually distrust her. Besides that, he knew she was safe now after a moment of worry before he had fallen asleep last night, well more correctly passed the fuck out. His only protest right now was that he was awake and she wasn't, and that she was making it hard for him to breathe with how she laid on him. Ultimately though, he figured he had no choice in the matter and had to just go with it. Wrapping an arm around her, Artorius ended up whisking off back to sleep for another hour or so.

Waking up later once her death grip on his neck and shoulders finally ended, the man managed to roll out of bed just before he tossed his blanket onto her. Stumbling over to his bathroom sink, the man freshened up with a brush of the teeth and a cold, refreshing shower. Artesia would wake up to the pleasant scent of meat being cooked as Artorius had started up breakfast. If anything, that would probably be his best bet at waking the sleeping beauty.

Artesia had been having quite the unique dream during the time she lay there practically unconscious upon Artorius's bed and if you asked her she wouldn't have been sure if to say that it had been in a good way or a bad way. All she would have been able to tell you was that it was weird. Really, really weird.

Why she was in an abandoned cabin way up in the snowy mountains of Bellum she had no idea but as she huddled in a blanket Artesia found herself cursing her chosen attire. Why hadn't she worn something warmer for heaven's sake? If she was going to the snow then she would normally have rugged up and yet for some reason she was in nothing more than her usual clothing which exposed her stomach and back. As the fire in front of her failed to provide substantial enough heat to warm her the woman's body began to tremble and as her breath fogged the air in a visible manner she let out a sigh. It was all up to the teddy bear which she now clung to like it was her lifesaver amidst the waves of the ocean to keep her from freezing, come to think of it... where had the human sized bear even come from? She couldn't recall how she'd found it or how she'd gotten it for the life of her but it didn't matter, as long as it was comfy and warm she'd keep hugging it.

Mmmm, meat, she could smell the delicious aroma of red meat being cooked and as it quickly roused her from her sleep Artesia made stifled grumbles into the blanket that covered her. "Nuuuuuurr... I dunnwanna." Her voice was pretty much muffled beyond belief as she spoke in her sleep but it was obvious via the tone of it all that she was arguing with the pork chop god that was trying to drag her from her bed. After tossing around a bit beneath the blanket which completely covered her body the fidgeting mass on the bed would suddenly stop, moments later a head would peek out from beneath the mound looking straight at the kitchen.

With groggy eyes which squinted rather heavily Artesia yawned in a way that resembled something a tired puppy dog would have done before rubbing her right eye slightly, "That's just cruel.... Making a girl choose between sleep or meat...." Artesia disappeared beneath the blanket once more and after some moving around she lifted it down to reveal her sitting form, "Should be downright illegal." The fight the night before combined with the electricity that Rachel had constantly thrown around made for some static build up in Artesia's hair, mix that with the fact she'd been tossing and turning since Artorius left the bed and you can understand why and how the woman had some bed hair as she sat there groggily looking to Artorius. Bed hair be damned though, she wasn't about to feel shy or embarrassed about it. Heck everyone got bed hair from time to time -if not all the time- and to varying degrees for that matter.

As her eyes started to focus on things and her mind actually kicked into gear Artesia found the sloppily done patches on Artorius's side catching her attention, "Tsk Tsk." She hopped from the bed and walked her way towards Artorius who stood in the kitchen still cooking and as she reached him she gently reached out to touch one of the bandages who's corner had been peeling. "Looks like you had fun." She said as she pushed the patches corner down so that it stuck again. She wasn't aware of it but she was actually speaking out of a sense of concern, he'd already been in rather bad shape but now she could see that it had only gotten worse with the addition of extra scrapes, cuts and bruises alongside the old and now aggravated wounds from earlier.

Artorius couldn't help but stifle a bit of laughter as he watched Artesia grumble and roll out of bed with a huge mess of bed hair above her head. Though, as he observed her tired form, a few fits of laughter ended up creeping out through the corners of his mouth as he grinned. Turning his attention back to the food that he was preparing, Artorius added a bit of sauce onto the porkchop that he was frying up. Unfortunately he didn't have the time to properly marinade it overnight as he would have preferred, but cooking it with some sauce would add a bit of juiciness and flavor as it cooked. There isn't very much out there that is as disappointing as an overly dry porkchop. Even an amateur cook like Artorius who never really had home cooked meals til he was well within his pre-teens knew that much. "Looks like you chose food though," Artorius teased her as he started up another pan, adding a bit of oil before setting the stove to low heat. Porkchop and eggs? why the hell not.

"I would hardly call it fun, Artesia," the man spoke as he flipped over the pork chops which made a nice and pleasant sizzling sound. "Somehow I feel more battered and bruised than I was yesterday. Didn't help that you were using me as a hug pillow and that you squeeze with a death grip, lady," he teased her as he leaned against the kitchen counter, glancing at the food to make sure it was cooking properly. Idly, he would flip and spin his spatula in his hand like it was a knife, showing some practiced skill and precision as he did so. "That guy was a hell of a fighter. We were matched up until the very end. You know, he was really obsessed with you... It was almost kind of creepy." Outside of that though, Artorius had to admit that Kagura wasn't a bad guy based on his recollection of him. If anything the man seemed to be just indebted to the Gray King and nothing more. Perhaps if they had met on better circumstances they might have winded up friends. Still, it was a bit too late to think of things like that since Kagura seemed pretty much dead now. Artorius didn't think that the guy could have possibly survived after being buried from head to toe under all that damned rubble.

"But, when the smoke cleared he let me in on a few important bits of information,"
the man spoke as he whipped a few eggs out of the carton in his fridge, cracking them before putting them onto the pan to fry, scrambling them a bit with his spatula as he continued. "Kagura told me that the answers we're looking for will be at the Vermillion Estate. He also mentioned that this leader of his, the Gray King, will be there. Though, he didn't exactly say when we should go there, only that the location itself would be important to us."

After a moment of scrambling the eggs, Artorius left it untouched to finish cooking as he turned the heat down a bit. Turning towards Artesia, the man flipped his spatula and caught it in his other hand before he spoke. "Did you find anything out from that little girl? Looks like she did a number on you based on your static-y hair."

After pressing the edge of the self adhesive patch to Artorius's skin so that it stayed there Artesia's eyes wandered over to the frying pan where she literally felt her stomach take a running leap towards her throat, oh god that looked good and the smell? Well let's just say if there was a time for a food-gasm it was now, she was starving. "Eh?" Escaped her lips as she found herself somewhat surprised and confused by what Artorius said next. She'd what? Nah, surely not. If she used the man as a pillow then she'd remember it, and death grip? The only thing she'd been giving a death grip like hug was that damned teddy bear in her dream. Oh.....

"You're the first that's ever complained." The woman smirked. Knowing where the plates were in regards to the kitchen layout Artesia set to work on setting the table as she listened to Artorius speak of the time they'd been separated during the night that had just gone. "Hahaha, You mean my melons." She chuckled while leaning down to reach for the plates, "Never have I heard that phrase used so much in one sitting." It was true, Kagura had managed to use said phrase far too many times in the short time that she'd actually been within ear shot and she just knew deep down that the number would have only increased when it was between him and Artorius. How? Don't ask such silly questions, she just knew alright.

Artorius spoke of what he'd learned from Kagura after the fight at much the same time as Artesia placed their plates on the table and as she put their utensils down the details followed. Vermillion estate? Well that explained the name on the piece of paper she'd looted from that girl and when? Well that much she had covered as well, "Perhaps." Artesia said idly. Sliding her hand down into the cleavage of the top which belonged to the dress Kriston had made for her she pulled out a piece of paper, "She wasn't really in the talking mood after our game but she did give me this." 'Given' wasn't really the right word for how she'd gotten the paper but that hardly mattered now did it. As she handed it out to Artorius without unfolding it she walked by him and to the frying pan of meat, "And as for the hair...." Before Artorius could have hoped to act he'd find that Artesia's hand shot out to mess his hair and only afterwards did she smirk and pick up the frying pan.

No doubt Artorius would notice the warmth with which the paper he'd been given radiated and once he opened it he'd find that there was a whole bunch of details jotted down in neat handwriting. Co-ordinates were listed along with a name and date and written down the bottom of it the words 'don't be late' were clearly meant to be noticed as they stood in capitals. While he read the piece of paper Artesia slid the pork chops from the frying pan and onto the plates and plonking the pan into the sink she turned to face him, "I figure we've got all we need if that piece of paper tells no lies. I can't help but feel like it's a little too convenient though." The odds of the people at the estate not expecting the pair of thieves to rock up were low, especially now that Kagura and Rachel had been beaten and the thieves were still out there in the sector and just that fact was obvious to Artesia.

"Yes, your melons..." Artorius paraphrased as his eyes were possessed by an uncontrollable urge to glance at said melons. The man spent a good, long five seconds looking at the woman's chest area, finding himself visually undressing her with his eyes before he suddenly snapped back to attention. The catalyst for him returning to his usual self and glory had been when Artesia had handed him a small piece of crumbled and folded paper. The paper was quite warm, a bit unsurprising given where she had been keeping the damned thing. Nevertheless, Artorius unfolded the writ of paper as he closely examined it, finding his eyes a tad bit blurry after they had glazed over in their previous act. Holding it closely to his eyes, the man noticed that it pointed out that a meeting had been rescheduled at a later date. Nevertheless, while the man knew of most places in Dandelion he had never actually heard of the Vermillion Estate before. This whole charade was all one big mystery to him. "Looks like we've got a time and a place put together now. Though, there's still a lot that we don't know about everything."

As Artorius spent a brief moment in solemn thought, trying to piece everything together, he couldn't help but feel that this all sounded a bit too convenient. He felt as though that Kagura wouldn't lead them into a trap intentionally. At the very least, he respected his honorable opponent, even if he was a total bastard pervert, enough that he wouldn't think badly of him in that sense. Though, at the same time he wondered if this was planned by the Gray King all along. Maybe they were meant to defeat those two and they would be walking into a trap of some sort. Still, at the same time the man couldn't help but feel as though he were being tested by this Oculus Obscura organization. It was quite annoying indeed. Though, before Artorius could continue his moment of brooding thought he suddenly found his hair being ruffled into a miss courtesy of Artesia's hand. "Gee, thanks girl," Artorius murmured under his breathe before brushing his hair back out of his face.

A moment later, Artesia had taken the cooked porkchop and flipped them onto the plate. Shaking his head, Artorius turned the stove off and finished up the eggs before splitting them up evenly among the two. Though, the man couldn't help but notice that Artesia had taken the bigger of the two porkchops. Frowning slightly, he shot the woman a quick sarcastic glare. "Should've known," he said to her, shaking his head. "So, this meeting should be fun. But, at least we have a bit to lick our wounds and all that fun stuff. But, I just remembered something -- doesn't that fanciful fairy of a bastard still have our stuff? I suppose we should go get it, though I don't exactly like hanging around that guy for some reason or another..."

Artesia knew Artorius would notice she'd taken the larger of the pork chops he'd cooked and as she sat waiting for it to happen and for the eggs he was serving she had what could only be described as an innocent expression upon her features. Now as you can imagine, when I say innocent expression I really mean a mischievous one which could pass as innocent, it is Artesia we are talking about here after all. When the glance and the comment finally came the woman's innocent expression changed to a large grin, "Yes you should've." She joked while reaching for the condiments which were still on the table since their last meal. "Fanciful Fairy... Not bad, I'll have to remember it." Artesia said with a chuckle, the term really did fit Kriston down the to the ground and she was almost disappointed in herself for not having thought of it herself.

Still, fanciful fairy or not, Kriston was a helpful guy and never failed to give her a hand with what she needed so Artesia wasn't about to speak ill of him. "He's a bit eccentric...and annoying, but he's got the skills to do what no one else around here can. Still, if you don't want to deal with him I can always go pick up our stuff and swing by here to drop it off." Artesia wasn't really in the mood to have to go to the boutique alone and deal with what Kriston would no doubt do -namely the game of one hundred questions which he'd demand to play- but with that said she wasn't about to force Artorius to go back there if he didn't want to. Kriston was her contact and aid after all and she could understand why he didn't like the guy, heck, most of the times she wanted to punch him just as much as Artorius did.

After eating the meal Artesia stood from her seat and after a stretch in which she winced at the height of she found herself glancing down to the wound on her side. Damn, she'd popped some stitches in the fight against Kagura and Rachel. While her wound wasn't really too bad the torn stitches were rather painful and as she noticed the dried blood from it on her side she glanced to her arms, yeah, she was dirty. "I'm gonna borrow your shower again." With that said Artesia walked towards the bathroom door and as she did so she paused momentarily, "Care to unzip me?" The top half of the dress that Artesia was still wearing was one which zipped up at the back and while normally she would have been more than flexible enough to undo/do it up herself this wasn't one of those times. The fight against Kagura and Rachel along with the previous ordeals had taken its toll on the woman and her body and with bruises galore and muscles which refused to move in certain ways she wanted to avoid straining herself if she could.

Once she was unzipped the woman would slip into the shower and under the warm water she washed herself clean from head to toe, the warmth helped her muscles loosen slightly but she still ached, she'd been put through the ringer that was for sure.

"Oops, did I say that out loud?" Artorius replied with a rather coy and smug expression stretched across his facial features. Frankly, the man knew that Kriston wasn't actually that bad of a guy. Though, his intentions were definitely questionable but it's not like Artorius could exactly judge him. If anything, they had a similar eye for women it seemed. Though, what guy wouldn't have an eye on Artesia? It was a natural sort of thing. Still, the man couldn't help but dislike Kriston on principle, namely over the fact that the man had literally tried to get in a cheap shot on him. In the end, it wasn't Artorius' pride that was the more injured, it was Kriston's instead. Besides that, being in that area of Dandelion Sector and talking to someone with his sort of demeanor brought up some understandably bad memories that Artorius had. The man couldn't help but feel that he was being looked down upon in a place like that, and Artorius never exactly enjoyed being judged by others in such a fashion. He's a street rat sure, but that doesn't mean he has to enjoy the title, at least not when the moniker is being used in a serious judging fashion, verbal or not. "He's not a bad guy. But, places like that and the restaurant we ditched brings up bad memories."

Judging by Artesia's rather sour expression Artorius couldn't help but notice that Artesia spoke with a bit of disdain at the thought of going to Kriston's alone. More specifically, Artorius was sure that she would be subject to a game of questions and maybe even another absurdly meticulous re-measurement. Artorius wasn't enthusiastic about it, but he figured it would be easier if he went along. "Not exactly excited to go but I'll share your burden," Artorius spoke with a half-hearted shrug. "He doesn't exactly seem like the most hands-off guy, if anything he seems a bit too handsy. I should go if only to keep an eye on things, right?" Artorius spoke with a sarcastic smirk.

The two ate their meal in record time, but it wasn't too surprising based on the fact that it felt like forever since they had last eaten. The last time they managed to grab a bite was at the diner yesterday afternoon, just before evening. After participating in a fight and losing a lot of energy and burning a crap load of calories a good hearty meal is usually a great pick-me-up. Artorius could understand why Artesia enjoyed her meat so much, but for the sake of women everywhere the man tried to moderate himself so he could keep those well-defined abdominal muscles that people just never shut up about. It's not like he hated the attention though.

After they ate and tossed the dishes into the sink, Artorius glanced over towards Artesia as she requested a bit of aid in getting out of her dress. "You know that I can do that and more, Artesia," he spoke teasingly in a husky whisper before he zipped down her dress, giving her a playful push. Jokes aside, the man made his way back towards the kitchen where he toiled over the dirty dishes, biding his time before they would make their way back towards their next destination.

It was a relief to hear that Artorius would be accompanying her to Kriston's boutique but it wasn't as though she truly understood why he had agreed to go, was it truly as he said? Was it to 'share her burden' and what did that mean exactly? The way he'd worded things made it seem as though he would have been going to help her avoid being practically molested by Kriston but why was it that he wanted to do that? Artesia wasn't used to having someone look out for her for such a reason, heck even her brothers or father would have sent her on her way knowing she would and could take care of herself -if they hadn't wanted to go of course- so you could understand why Artorius's actions raised some questions. Eh, whatever, maybe the man just didn't want to stick around at his current hideout and so rather than wait there for her to return his things he wanted to go and pick them up himself, yeah, that was a feasible reason and it was the one she chose to stick with.

As Artorius helped unzip Artesia's dress top the man had decided to do a little teasing and with a husky whisper he threw out what could only be described as a tempting line of flirtatious wit, if Artesia was any less of a strong woman she'd have had her legs turn to jelly right then and there. "What did I say about temptation." The woman said with a smirk. She knew she'd said something to him about tempting women so upon their first arrival to the hideout and while she didn't know if he recalled the exact words she had to figure he could have, he seemed to remember everything else she threw at him word for word after all.

The shower was nice and the water refreshing and invigorating but despite her best efforts she couldn't stop her mind from dwelling on the man outside the bathroom. Now, I'm not talking about anything dirty here -my apologies-, what I am talking about though is the numerous questions she couldn't help but realise she had. Artorius was a strange man but for reasons she didn't know Artesia found him completely and without a doubt to be one of the most interesting people she'd ever met, there was something there that felt as though it pulled her towards him much like a magnetic force. Of course there was the heat and tension that came from it to be considered but there was much more than just how attractive she found the man, then again, perhaps some of that attraction came from what it was she had yet to determine. Oh how tricky things could be in said regard.

Emerging from the shower Artesia dried herself and her hair enough that she wouldn't be dripping water all over the place and after putting her pants back on she wandered from the bathroom. With one arm around her melons to as to hold them and to cover what was important she showed that she wasn't shy, besides, let's face it, the man had seen more than that anyway. "Got a shirt?" As if it were the most casual thing in the world she stood there looking to Artorius awaiting a reply, the dress top she'd been wearing was covered in dried blood so she figured if she could borrow something until the boutique where she could wear her usual top it would be good. He'd already let her use some of his clothes before too so she didn't doubt he'd let her borrow a top again.

"It's just fun to see the look on your face," Artorius spoke with a smugly satisfied grin. True enough, he did enjoy teasing her and not merely for the sake of initiating anything. Instead, the sheer act of joking around while straddling that thin line between coyness and physical attraction was simply too enjoyable to pass up at times. Artorius knew that the game he was playing was a difficult one, one which he had ended up succumbing too just a few days ago. "And sometimes I just can't help myself. You'll have to forgive me."

True to his word, at times Artorius was a bit of a hapless womanizer. Though, it's not like he strung anyone along, at least not intentionally. Still, he couldn't help but feel a strange undeniable magnetic attraction towards this woman. Curiously, Artorius couldn't help but wonder if the companionship that they had was merely one of necessity as they both had a common goal. If that goal ended up being achieved, and it would be as their lives hung on that, then what would happen to the two of them? Perhaps Artorius was merely enjoying it while he could, or so he told himself. Ordinarily, he probably wouldn't have even bothered joining a woman on an errand like this as the prospect of doing so never seemed enticing to him. Yet, the man had to admit that the time spent with her was quite entertaining to say the least, but the reasons why, as well as his slight sense of jealousy which arose at the thought of her going alone to that compulsive molestor of a tailor's place, utterly eluded him. Complications like these were unusual to the man, so he dealt with it as best he could -- by not thinking about it as much as possible.

Nevertheless, Artesia soon finished her showe rand emerged from the bathroom. Artorius couldn't help but stare at the sigh. He had already seen what she had to offer, but seeing her dripping wet covering herself wasn't exactly an eye sore, so to speak. Smirking to himself as if he had thought of something utterly ridiculous, which he had, Artorius made his way towards the dresser in his room and pulled out a shoelace. "You think this would fit?" Artorius said with a satisfied grin across his face before he shoved it back into his dresser. Amused enough with himself, Artorius tossed a plain sleeveless shirt behind himself towards Artesia, letting her dress herself in peace. Meanwhile, Artorius also got dressed himself, disrobing his shorts and old t-shirt and slipping into a pair of pants and a plain black t-shirt, with a dark blue jacket over himself. After draping a scarf around his shoulders and neck, Artorius buckled on his daggers and sword onto his belt. "It's cold out. I'll let you borrow this," he said to her as he handed her one of his hoodies.

Alright, she'd been expecting some kind of joke or even an expression or two -or both- but what Artesia hadn't been expecting was what Artorius actually did, I mean seriously, who has a spare shoelace just sitting in their drawer? Apparently this guy. "Perhaps, although I'm not sure society would approve." Artesia said with a smirk and a shake of her head as the man turned back to his drawers to get her something proper. She imagined walking outside into the world with nothing but a shoe lace on to cover her upper half and as she did so she could see the faces and expressions of those that saw her, hmm... perhaps it would almost be worth it given how freaked out some of the people would be. Actually, nah, she was nowhere near drunk enough for that kind of shit.

The white shirt she threw over herself was loose but it wasn't as though it mattered when you considered that she would be wearing a hoodie over the top of it for the duration of the time she would be wearing it. "Thanks." Artesia said taking the hoodie from Artorius and slipping on. As she zipped it up though she glanced up to see the man getting undressed, yeah, as you probably guessed, her eyes knew where they wanted to be. Watching his figure undress and dress from behind him for a few moments Artesia couldn't help but smirk and pulling the hood to the hoodie up she walked towards the front door. "Wait for you outside." Yeah, she didn't want to watch him for too long, that would have been creepy.

Once Artorius emerged from the hideout and met with her outside Artesia and he made their way through town towards the district where Kriston's boutique was located and on their way a conversation was struck up. "I'd assume you already have someone to see for those wounds but if you don't it's worth checking out a contact of mine." Artorius might have found the strange topic she raised to be surprising but when he considered that they both now had time to get treated properly hopefully it would make sense. "He's pretty under the grid but if you find the 'Calypso' bar and tell the beefy guy that Tia sent you I'm sure he'd show you to him." The man that Artesia spoke of was a talented doctor in his prime years however after becoming involved with the mafia and other undesirables he found himself left with no choice but to abandon legitimate practice and head into the underground. It was only thanks to her numerous contacts and networks that she herself had found the man and given his powerful healing techniques she figured Artorius could use the hook up considering it wasn't as if they had all the time in the world to get better.

As they arrived at Kriston's boutique the pair would walk inside to find that the light hadn't been turned on yet and it seemed like the place was deserted, perhaps they weren't open to the public just yet? Before they could really think about it though the sound of movement came from behind the curtain dividing the room and Kriston's face peered from behind it curiously. Upon seeing the thieves though it soured and seemingly upset about something he stepped out and with his arms folded, damn it.... why was she wearing men's clothes? It had to be that stupid guys clothing too. "You sure know how to thank a guy you know, I had to explain to a bunch of angry people why my invitation to the ball had been used by a pair of trouble makers." Oh... right, crap. "Sorry Kriston." Artesia said with her best apologetic expression complete with puppy dog eyes. Melting at the sight Kriston immediately softened but he didn't return to normal, how could he.. that guy was there. "Tch, It's fine, it's not like I didn't talk my way out of it."
