Artorius couldn't help but watch the man sharpen his weapons with a peculiar sense of curiosity. The man was no stranger to sharpening his blades as he had to keep them in tip-top shape, or at least somewhere near that, in his line of work. A dull blade that can't cut a rope or cable properly can be death in his line of work. Artorius understood the need to maintain one's tools properly, just as it was as important to maintain one's body as well. Though, that didn't stop him from consuming an unhealthy bit of alcohol and smoke. The latter was justified to a degree, but the former well... Let's just say they both help him wind down and get some much needed rest and relaxation when he had very little time for either for the most part.

Artorius gave Fergus a grateful nod as he thanked him for letting him work on Artorius' collection of blades. Perhaps collection is the wrong word though, as that implies that they were simply collector's items and not tools as they truly were. But, tools or not, they were priceless valuables but they belonged in hand as much as they belonged in museums. It was truly a wonder how the blades managed to stay sharp and pristine, especially Artorius' double-edged straight sword which was way too old to have any business being used as a weapon in modern times. Though, that was definitely a testament to the quality of its make but also the timelessness of the legend it was supposedly attached to.

Nevertheless, Artesia was the first one to leave as they were in a bit of a hurry. As Artorius made his way towards the door, Fergus stood up and grumbled as if to say something. But, Artorius knew exactly what he was going to say before he could even move his lips. "She's like a daughter or niece to you, right? I'll keep her safe, or it's my skin that's on the line. I know you're not the only one who's thinking that when you look at me. Sometimes I can't help but think that when I look at myself, but if there's anything I know for certain I am -- it's a man of my word." Part of what he was saying was him trying to justify his actions and his feelings of concern for Artesia as himself trying to keep his own hide safe. He wasn't cognizant over it, but there might be other reasons as to why he said that, perhaps to assure himself that they would make it out of this alive and healthy.

Joining Artesia outside, Artorius couldn't help but frown a bit at Artesia's comment, which was a bit of humor at Artorius' expense. But, it was all in good fun and after the brief frown his lips naturally curled into a matching smirk. "So, if my gut is right, and it usually is, we'll be seeing a tailor? You have interesting friends, Artesia."

"Well you know how it goes,"Artesia said with a shrug of her shoulders, "You can't see a man about a dog if you don't know the man to begin with." Alright, so she'd made that up on the spot but it made sense so whatever. With that said and his thoughts confirmed Artorius was still likely wondering about the kind of man this tailor would prove to be and for some reason Artesia felt as though she should help him out by giving him some details, not that they would be useful in preparing him for what was to come. "He's a bit of an odd one but he's better at what he does than anyone else you'll come across in this place." To say that Kriston was an oddball was an understatement really, he was more an eccentric freak of nature with a splash of perv and sadist mixed in but hey Artorius could learn about first hand soon enough.

The pair travelled towards the north-western corner of the town as they made their way towards Artesia's next contact and as they did their surrounds grew increasingly higher in class and they began to stand out just a tad more with every block travelled. Luckily though nobody seemed to care too much beyond the glances of what appeared to be distain that they would shoot them both from time to time. Eventually the pair stood before a large set of glass doors which belonged to a building that looked more Parisian than Dandelion, engraved beside the doors was a name in fancy cursive font which read 'Milanzo' and if Artorius was up to date with the current fashion running around the sector he'd recognise it. "Brace yourself." Was all Artesia said to Artorius in warning as she walked up the short flight of stairs to the doors to open them, oh yes, he'd very swiftly learn why she'd said that.

As the doors opened a bell chimed lightly to let the people inside know that someone had entered but that was not all that would be immediately noticed. The place smelled of french vanilla and it was very obvious that no expense had been spared in its inner decor, it was very clearly a place for those that had money out their eyeballs. "Welcome to Milanzo Boutique, how may I help you tod~"But moments after they stepped inside a young woman rushed to greet them pair but as soon as she noticed Artesia she stopped her usual greeting and continued with a custom one. "Ah Miss Tia, good to see you again." Before anything else could be done or even said though a voice perked up from behind the curtains which were drawn at the back of the large room and like a dog with his ears up a figure emerged hurriedly, "TIA!" The figure that rushed over to Artesia's side was a tall and modestly built man with long and layered white hair and eyes that were closer to a golden hue than an auburn one and was dressed in a white button up shirt with long sleeves, three quarter length bone coloured cotton pants with a pair of white cotton finish loafers and a blue checked shawl atop his shoulders.

Artesia stood practically frozen to the spot at the figure grasped a hold of her hand and knelt down on one knee where he kissed the back of it and it might not have seemed it but she was feeling as awkward as fuck, it was one thing for him to do that when no one else was around but it was another thing to do it in front of Artorius. Why? Well it was like anything embarrassing, they are always worse when others are there to witness them. "What on earth happened to you?" He said with a worried expression upon his face as he immediately noticed the stitched up wound on her side. It was obvious to Artesia why he had noticed it as soon as he had for the man made no secret of how much he liked to check her out, "Same old same old." A seemingly horrified and by far over-reaction of an expression crossed the man's face but it was replaced by another as soon as Artesia mentioned Artorius in a roundabout way, "I've got a job for you. Two in fact."

He stood from his kneeling position and glanced to Artorus who he immediately began to size up and with a glare of sorts already forming he decided to bite, "Two?"

As the two walked Artorius simply couldn't help but notice that the places that they were passing by were getting more and more upscale and fancy as time went on. Frankly, Artorius had always avoided this side of town as he always got cruel stares which were constantly judging him. He didn't really care for the sort, but sometimes it got on his nerves. It was all understandable though considering his upbringing. Honestly, as they moved from street to street, passing by different boutiques and buildings, Artorius continually felt the creeping suspicion that he really did not belong in a place like this. This sentiment increased quite a bit as they entered a clothing boutique with a fanciful sign that read as 'Milanzo' though it took him at least four darting glances to actually read the damn thing. Cursive wasn't his specialty, no surprise from a man who didn't learn to read until he was well into his teenage years.

Why was it that everywhere Artesia took him he couldn't help but feel that he was being sized up, or at least appraised to see his worth? Well, to be fair it had only been two different places but the song sounded the same in both the rustic blacksmith's place, but also in this rich upper class store. Artorius didn't necessarily appreciate it, but somehow it was a bit more manageable to deal with Fergus than it was to deal with this guy. Though, perhaps that was because Fergus didn't see Artesia in that way in the slightest, whereas this fanciful fairy of a bastard, as Artorius might begrudgingly refer to him in his head, was just the opposite. Jealousy? Artorius would hardly call it that, but he couldn't help but stand there with arms crossed and eyebrows raised.

Nevertheless, Artesia eventually burst the guy's bubble by stating that she had two jobs for them. The first was simple -- they obviously needed clothes to fit into this Eagle's Nest. The second was perhaps getting in there in the first place, considering they needed an invitation. Based on the interior of this place, it seemed like many of the tower's guests needed dresses and tuxedos made for the events held there. Perhaps he was invited too. At any rate, Artorius figured he should say something, as this time he felt like he didn't want to just blend into the shadows and stand around like he had done at the blacksmith's place. "Two is correct," Artorius repeated in a matter of factly fashion. "I understand this is a popular place among the aristocracy and nobles. We want what they'll be wearing tonight at the event being held at the Irelian Tower, which segues into the second job -- we need a way to get in, if you can help us at all it would be appreciated."

Kriston heard what Artorius said loud and clear but despite that he glanced to Artesia with an expression that read as 'is what the monkey said true?' Artesia had know that the reaction she'd get from the man in regards to Artorius but even so she couldn't help but feel the urge to head desk repeatedly rapidly rising. "I figure you would have what we need to get in there and I know that you're the only one that I could ask that would be able to get us some attire in time." In order to sink the ship that was the deal they needed Artesia knew she would have to bring out the big guns, and no I'm not talking about those big guns, I'm referring to something a little extra to seal the deal. Artesia's face turned to one which was referred to as a puppy dog face and when it did the man looking upon her melted instantly, it was no wonder she'd been able to manipulate him as she had. The sour look he had faded away and with wide eyes he hurried Artesia over towards the curtains where he'd be taking the measurements, "Oh of course my dear Tia, I wouldn't dream of letting you down." There was nothing said about Artorius following them but it was pretty obvious he should, well unless he was thick in the head or something.

Behind the curtains which were primarily used to separate the man's work area from the boutique part he hurriedly pulled out a tape measure and grabbed a pair of glasses from a case atop his work desk. While the man didn't actually need to wear the glasses in any regard he chose to, for what reason not even Artesia knew but it wasn't like anyone really cared in the long run. Noticing that Artorius had followed them and realising that he was indeed actually a thing Kriston motioned for the man to take a seat on a chair a couple of metres from where Artesia stood as if used to the process she had to undergo every time she went there. "Be a good lad and sit over there while I get some accurate measurements." Artesia had her back to Artorius as she stood but Kriston faced him as he spoke and with a smirk and a glint in his golden eyes he tried to antagonise and tease him. He didn't know who this man was or why he was there with his precious Tia but god be damned if he was letting him leave there without knowing his place, or so he thought anyway.

Artesia stood reluctantly on the spot marked out on the floor with a cross of masking tape, she knew the reason why the man always made her get re-measured every time she went there and it wasn't because he was truly worried about weight fluctuation or because he 'lost' the old set, it was because he was a handsy pervert that had nothing better to do with his life. Kriston would raise the tape measure to take the first measurement and of course it was the one of around Artesia's bust, before he could wrap it even half way around though he would find himself interrupted and shocked beyond all belief by a blow right outta the left field.

If this guy was actually Artesia's contact and had gotten measurements from her before, which he assumed he had as why else would Artesia know him and recommend him from the start, then Artorius could tell that he was being particularly handsy. It's not like they were exclusive or anything, but at the same time Artorius found himself getting a tad bit annoyed that this fairy of a guy was going to such great lengths to put Artorius in his place. If that's the game that they were going to play, then Artorius knew exactly what to say. "If you wanted accurate measurements..." Artorius said as he sat down on the chair, his arms crossed across his chest and his eyes closed before his lips curled into a smug, satisfied smirk. He was going to say something redonk right about now. "You should have just asked. That'll be, what was it again? Oh, that's right. 35. 23. 33," the man boldly declared in an impressive display.

Kriston couldn't help but be taken aback by the other man's retort. His expression went from a smug smirk rapidly to a look of shock and horror, before quickly reverting to a rather flustered expression. Yet, all the while, Artorius merely stood there with his eyes casually shut and his lips curled into a satisfied yet smug smirk. There's no coming back from that blow, really. But, it seemed that Kriston was still willing to fight that uphill battle and shook his head, deciding to measure Artesia anyway. "Is that right? I suppose there would be no harm in measuring her anyway, no?" Kriston said, his face still a bit pale but the color quickly returned as he measured her, starting from the bust. He measured a bit slowly there, clearly enjoying himself, before he wrapped things up by measuring the waist, taking a bit more time at the hips. Turning his gaze towards Artorius, the man cast a piercing stare with eyebrows clearly furrowed as if to say, 'you win this round.'

But, Artorius opened his eyes and merely curled his lips into a nonchalant grin with his eyes cast in a casual stare. Artesia wouldn't pick up on it, perhaps due to the fact that she had to stand straight for the measurements, but Artorius' expression was quite obvious in what it stated. 'I've already won the war.' And boom goes the dynamite.

Once Artesia finished getting her measurements done it was time for Artorius to get his done. "Come on, hot shot. You're not just gonna stand there like some ape, are you?" Kriston called him over in a sarcastic fashion, but the choice of words and tone of voice was a bit too dry there. Nevertheless, Artorius stood towards the center of the room where Artesia had bee. The man started by measuring his height, followed shortly after by measuring his waist, hip, and outward leg seam before going ahead to measure his arm lengths, neck, and sleeve. Whereas Artesia's measurements were taken slowly and meticulously by the guy, Artorius' were done quickly to get out of the way. But, there was one more measurement to take. Kneeling down, Kriston put one end of the tape measure at his foot to measure the inside leg. Quickly, he brought his hand which was holding the other end of the tape measure upward, hitting Artorius where the sun didn't shine with the back of his hand. But, as Artorius recoiled and winced, Kriston's expression was the more defeated one after hitting him there. It seemed he couldn't win anything today.

As Artorius spoke out loud some pretty damned accurate measurement Artesia found herself utterly flabbergasted, what the heck was she supposed to be thinking and or feeling at a moment such as the one that just transpired for crying out loud? For starters, how the hell had Artorius gotten her measurements so damned right? Unless he whipped out a tape measure during their drunken time together and she had passed out so as to allow the measuring -which was downright doubtful- then he had some kind of godlike special power, one that even she was surprised and in awe of. With widened eyes and her lips slightly parted in surprise Artesia couldn't even turn around for the shock of it all, instead she stared straight ahead and tried her best to dismiss it. She wasn't a thick women by any means so she knew what battle was going on between the two men in the room and to be honest she didn't care, if she let them have their little war and stayed out of it she would save herself a whole headache and a half.

After measuring Artesia Kriston who was clearly agitated and feeling rather snappy called Artorius to get his own done and as if tagging out Artesia took the man's seat on the chair while he took her place at the mark on the floor. Grabbing a magazine which was nearby the woman decided to spend her time reading rather than watching the pair of men battle things out for whatever reason and as she flicked pages she couldn't help but shake her head from side to side and sigh. Men.

With the measurements now completed Artesia looked up from her magazine to see Kriston who looked to be on the verge of tears and Artorius who was standing with a rather proud expression on his face, what the heck she'd missed she didn't know and she wasn't about to enquire. "I leave the dress to you Kriston, I trust you." Yep, she threw out the trust bomb and as you can expect it had the desired effect. The man perked up ever so slightly and it was enough to spur him to rush to his desk and start sketching, "And I won't let you down! So why don't you two go do something for a while and come back tonight so I can do any last minute alterations." Deep down the man hated the idea of sending them out together to do anything but at the same time he REALLY felt like he wanted to be alone to wallow in his own self pity work on the designs and creation of the garments he had to ensure were done at an unmatched pace. He just had to accept defeat for today and not just 'defeat' but complete and utter defeat.

With a shrug Artesia turned to Artorius, she was about to ask if he had anywhere he wanted to or needed to go before their task at the tower that night but before she could her stomach spoke up and did all that was needed. With a grumble it spoke loud and clear about her desire to go and find something to eat and when it did the woman glanced up with Artorius with a somewhat surprised expression, "I don't suppose you are hungry?"

Artorius couldn't help but childlishly grin as Artesia shook her head when they finally got all their measurements done. He knew that Artesia wasn't exactly thick in the head, meaning that she probably understood the silly battle that the two men played against each other. But, to be fair, Artorius never wanted to do battle in the first place. He sort of just got taunted and reeled in. Though, it just so happened that Artorius was too big of a fish in a pond where Kriston was usually the biggest, so to speak. Artorius quickly let the thought pass by with a shrug, it's not like he particularly cared about winning, he was just simply goaded into participating in the first place.

Nevertheless, the two couldn't sit around here all day while they waited for their attire to be done. After all, they would pretty much just get in the way. That, and the tension in the room was a bit too tense to breathe properly in. A bit of fresh air would definitely help. Besides that, Artesia's stomach unshly spoke up. Now more than ever, since they were kind of just standing their idly, was probably a good time to go to eat. Besides, Artorius was pretty hungry too. After a night of being drunk and, well other things, Artorius could use a bit of food to fill himself up. He wasn't necessarily hung over persay, but after drinking so much some good food goes down real easily.

The two walked throughout the streets, looking for a place to eat. Either of them pointed towards a fancy restaurant which the two explored. As they walked in it was difficult to notice just how badly they stood out. For one, their attire was certainly not up to par with everyone else's. That's not to say that their clothes were poorly made, but simply that this place seemed like a suit and tie joint, and those that referred to restaurants as 'joints' didn't fit in all to well. Turning towards Artesia as they stood in the lobby, Artorius couldn't help but shake his head. "Let's try somewhere else. I know a place with some good food around here. And good drink too, I know how much you like that," Artorius teased her before he led the way out of there.

The establishment that Artorius had pointed out was just a bit farther away. This section of the city wasn't as high class as where they had just been, but it wasn't like it was an absolute slum or mess like much of the east side of Dandelion Sector was. It was an honest, damn good place to eat, and as far as Artorius concerned that's all he cared about when it came to restaurants. He didn't need the distractions of showing off a tux or fancy pocket watch, nor did he want to be judged at the door just to pay for some overpriced imported wine or a portion of steak that cost way too much for how much it filled him up.

Holding the door open to the rather simple but busy diner, Artorius led the way towards one of the booths. Shortly after, a waiter walked towards them to give them menus and asked for their request of drinks. "Check the alcohol menu, Artesia," Artorius spoke with a wry smirk.

The first place that the pair of thieves went to for a meal turned out to be a rather fancy restaurant and as they walked inside the doors they were immediately shown just how their kind wasn't truly welcome there. The glances, stares, murmurs and coughs were all apparent and blatantly obvious, while Artesia wasn't the kind of woman to ever let that make her choose to leave she couldn't say she particularly wanted to be there and when Artorius suggested another place for a meal that came with his recommendation she was more than eager to accept it. "Ah, you know the way to a woman's heart." She said in jest to his comment about how it had a good variety of alcohol available in its menu and without hesitation she turned around and followed the man out and back to the streets. They didn't need to pay an exorbitant price for something when the atmosphere sucked and so they both made their way to where it was Artorius had in mind.

Frankly the slow and gradual decline in the scale of the surrounding area was somewhat reassuring and relaxing for Artesia as she watched it go by during their casual stroll to their next meal, there was something nice about knowing you weren't being shot full of holes by every set of eyes that turned your way. The place itself that they arrived at was a simple one in appearance but it was obviously one with a good menu given the amount of people that were choosing to frequent it, "Something smells good." Artesia said while walking through the door that Artorius held open for her and frankly it was the truth, something did smell damned good. Whatever it was that the cook in the back was cooking at that very moment it involved meat and a hefty amount of the good old red kind based on the aroma that was wafting about, yep, was well worth the walk to get there.

Taking a seat at one of the booths the pair were greeted by a waiter and when Artorius immediately suggested she check the alcohol menu she felt her left eyebrow lift slightly, well she couldn't blame the man for assuming that would be what she wanted given in the time he'd known her that was literally all she'd had to drink, still there was nothing wrong with wanting some water from time to time now was there? "Just a glass of water this time." Artesia said to the waiter who would jot it down not knowing how shocking that choice might prove to be to the man seated across from her. Once Artorius chose his drink the waiter would ask them for their meal choice to which Artesia would reply with "Hmm it's a hard choice but I'll have a large cheeseburger meal." Once the waiter left their table the pair would be left alone to think of something in the line of conversation and for a bit there it remained silent, that was until Artesia broke the silence. "Nice place you have here, do they do parties?" There was no real reason for her to ask that question other than to break the ice but hopefully it would do its job.

"If I had water in my mouth I'd be spitting it all over you right about now," Artorius said, choking on his words a little bit. He was genuinely surprised that she didn't get something hard to drink for once considering that the only thing he saw her drink was alcohol over the course of the past few days. Nevertheless, it was totally fine by him, just utterly unexpected is all. But, in the end Artorius ordered a glass of water as well. "Water is fine by me, no ice thought," the man declared with a quick nod.

Shortly after they finished ordering their drinks, the waiter waited eagerly to take their orders for food. It seemed that Artesia was going for something simple with just a large cheeseburger meal. The man couldn't help but wonder where she tucked all that away considering her slim body. But, after a moment of thought, and also a moment of his eyes glancing over at certain parts of her body, he made that realization quite quickly. Typically, Artorius wouldn't order something so heavy, especially after he had literally just gotten measured for a suit, he had to make an exception since he was so damn hungry. "Chicken fried steak sounds good. Country gravy, a side of onion rings and mashed potatoes, also country gravy, sounds good," Artorius said to the waiter.

There was a brief moment of silence as the two waited for their food and drink. But, Artesia managed to break the ice first. Quite fitting based on the fact that she seemed ever quite more sociable than Artorius naturally was. But, he was glad for it, because he didn't know what in the living hell to say. He was at a momentarily loss for words at that moment simply because a lot had happened, and they didn't have much to talk about that was suitable in a place like this considering what they had to talk about was essentially either falling into two categories: a bit too serious or grim, or wildly inappropriate.

"Parties? Yeah, they even set up a fancy ball pit for the kids or the drunken adults to stomp around in,"
Artorius replied amusingly in a sarcastic fashion. "Honestly, I really don't know. I imagine so. So, you ever been to a ball or something like that?" He asked, curious as to what sort of thing he should be expecting. Artorius had a general idea of what Masquerade Balls and such are like, being seeing how he only ever saw them from miles away it wasn't really much of an expectation. "I've never been to, or even see a ball or anything like that. As far as I was concerned, growing up I just saw it as the fat rich folk being fat rich folk."

There it was, the line about her choice of drink that she'd been waiting to hear. "Tis a travesty but alas even one such as I get dehydrated from time to time." She said half in jest and half in all seriousness, she was only human after all and humans couldn't live without any water at all. "Sounds fun" Artesia smirked to Artorius's sarcastic and yet witty reply to her ice breaker line, she had to admit that she liked having someone that seemingly kept up with and could match her in conversation, it was fun. With the ice broken the pair had no trouble speaking to one another in a normal fashion and it was during this kind of talk that the mention of the ball they were going to came up, "Me? Nah, or should I say at least not here. I've been to one or two back home but only to lighten the weight on the shoulders of those who adorned themselves slightly too heavily for the evening." Artesia said with the edges of her lips curling up as she recalled the times in question. "With that said, I can't imagine it would be too different. You aren't far off base though, the fat cats meow and the fat cats get the milk, that's really all these things boil down to be in the end."

As she finished speaking the waiter from earlier returned with their food in a spectacularly fast fashion and Artesia found herself legitimately impressed by the service and the chefs out the back, however they'd done it they'd managed to cook everything perfectly and in record time, kudos to them. Artesia would waste not even a second before taking the first chip from her plate and chomping down on it and as she felt the right level of outer crunch to the soft inner potato she knew it was going to be a damned fine meal. As she watched Artorius eating away at his own plate of food the woman couldn't help but want the mashed potato that he ordered as a side and as she thought on just how much she wanted to try it her lips fidgeted slightly. Eventually though -and three or so chips later- she gave in to her stomachs desires and with a chip in her fingers she leant over across the table inadvertently giving Artorius and eye full as she dunked said chip into the mashed potato and gravy. As she dropped back into her seat successful with the task of acquiring a significant mashed potato to chip ratio she smiled mischievously before popping it into her mouth, "That's some good gravy, I'll have to remember it for next time." She said with an added wink.

When their meal was done and paid for it was time for them to head back towards Kriston's boutique and as they stepped outside they could immediately notice that the sun had begun to set, "And as the sun goes to bed the stars out to play." Artesia mumbled to herself seemingly forgetting that Artorius was in an earshot of her. It was something that her father used to say to her on their journeys and it had always been something that had stuck with her throughout the years, it felt strange how she'd remember it upon seeing the sky beginning to darken but given what had happened that day perhaps it wasn't the strange after all. As she realised she'd said something strange and for no reason the woman turned to Artorius and motioned in the direction for them to head off in with the movement of her head, "Guess we should be going then, wouldn't want to be late. He's pissy enough at the best of times."
