Stay the course.

Artorius raised an eyebrow as the phrase 'floral bouquet' was brought up. It took only a brief moment for the man to realize what she was actually talking about, which was of course the female-oriented shampoo that was sitting in his shower. He didn't remember whose those were. Well, he had a face, but not necessarily the name. Maybe not even the face, who knows. But, that aside the man's lips curled into a wry frown when Artesia joked and teased about the shot glasses. Though, Artorius did have a very good reason for including them in the first place, even if it wasn't necessarily altruistic by any means. Though, maybe he could justify it by saying he was trying to pace themselves from drinking too much. But, a little harm never came to a pair of the opposite sex and too much alcohol, right? Right? Nevermind. Shaking that thought off to the side, Artorius poured himself a shot before pouring one for Artesia after she drank the contents of her own glass. "Tell you what. I'll pour the drink for the dainty little lady. Deal?" Artorius grinned as he sipped down his shot. "Besides, the way I'll have you, you won't really be in much of a position to drink." At first, it wasn't necessarily a flirtatious remark, at least not intentionally. But, after realizing what he had actually said, the man had decided to go along with it.

Once Artesia moved towards the bed and the soft, comfy mattress Artorius smirked as he pushed Artesia down. Before she could protest though, Artorius rolled her away from him. "Now now, on your side please for the good doctor," Artorius grinned as he pushed Artesia over onto the bed. Disinfecting the needle with some alcohol to clean it off and then doing the same by pouring some drops of the contents of the bottle onto her wound, Artorius placed a hand onto her side. Unsurprisingly, her skin was quite soft, quite typical of a woman even if Artesia was a bit rough around the edges. Though, as he placed his hand on her side to steady himself the man noticed that Artesia twitched a bit here and there. "Wait. Don't tell me you're actually ticklish here, are you?" Artorius questioned with a shake of his head. "Be a good girl and hold still now, will you?"

Piercing her skin with the needle after looping and tying the thread through the eye, Artorius went to work stitching her up. It was a bit challenging because she kept twitching as his hand was kept onto her side in a semi-feeble attempt to hold each of themselves steady. Halfway through though, Artorius felt a bit flustered and inevitably decided to just pass Artesia the bottle. Helping her sit up, Artorius passed the bottle to her and let her drink a bit. "Here's your medicine. Just like the doctor ordered," he laughed contently. "Hopefully that will calm your nerves," he spoke with a shrug of his shoulders before he laid her back down and finished stitching her up. Once he was done, Artorius bit through the thread and began wrapping and dressing her wound with some bandages. The man couldn't help but notice how soft her skin was, even if it was well-toned and muscled beneath. "Your physical is all done," he added, enjoying playing doctor for a bit. "You appear in good health. Very good health if I do say so myself. Though, that's enough playing doctor for the day. It's been awhile since either of us has eaten, and I recall telling you I owed you one. So, looks I get to play chef instead of doctor now. Keep yourself busy, will you? And by that, I mean don't drink that whole bottle."

Shortly after this, Artorius made his way towards the kitchen and vigorously scrubbed his arms and hands with soap. Getting some pots and pans ready, Artorius set some water to boil and put some oil on one of the pans. As he let the stuff heat up, Artorius wrapped himself in quite the fanciful apron -- pink, with colorful floral patterns. But, the best part was the little yellow chick on the front. "Oh yeah. Not a word about apron. It's my favorite, what can I say?"

"Why thank you good sir." Artesia joked as she gracefully took the shot glass from Artorius's hands but that was where the dainty act ended though as she skulled it down as fast as the man could blink. She wasn't fazed by the alcohol like many women may have been nor was she phased by many, many things to that those same women would be to be frank but what Artorius said next left even her with a raised eyebrow. He might not have meant it to come across the way he had but there was no doubting that what Artorius said regarding how he'd have her and how she wouldn't be in a position to drink was just so unexpected and out of the left field that even Artesia found herself with nothing to say, so much so that it was a hook to the left jaw while she was guarding her right. What was there to think when someone said that? Your mind was bound to swim in the air while trying to decipher it, or at least that was what she would have told herself to reason it if not for what actually came next to follow it.

The woman literally found herself with just enough time to think 'wait what' after downing her shot before she found herself being pushed backwards with enough force to actually fall, and as you can imagine it came as quite the surprise. The shock and confusion didn't stop there though for but moments after landing on the soft and comfy mattress she found herself being rolled over as if someone was using her as a makeshift rolling pin. Now Artesia hadn't assumed the man was trying anything on her but to be honest she had no real clue of what was going on, heck she hadn't even been given enough time to get over the reeling line he'd given her let alone think as well. Once he spoke of being the doctor and what not though it all became clear, or at least she had an idea of what the heck he'd been talking about, even if it was a little too late to be of much use in regards to the prior confusion.

Obeying for once went limp and did what Artorius wanted of her, rolling onto her side and keeping herself there so he could easily reach the cut on her side. She was going to have to try her best not to be ticklish but the truth of the matter was there wasn't much she could do about it, no matter how embarrassing she might have found it. Despite her best efforts to brace herself for Artorius's touch there proved to be nothing she could do about her body knee jerk reaction to it and as her stomach muscles twitched in response she could hear Artorius practically chuckling to himself. "I like to call it 'well conditioned and sensitive reflexes'." She mumbled trying her best not to pout in any shape or form, "It's not like I'm not trying." She mumbled again with an aspect of sass to it. How dare he make it sound like she was doing it on purpose, it wasn't her fault!

As the man did his best to stitch her up despite her constant twitching due to her ticklish nature Artesia was left with little else to do but think while trying her best to ignore the sensation and pain that went along with the procedure. What did she find herself thinking about? Good question, I'll tell you. As Artorius's hands touched against her own skin the man had noted how soft and supple her skin and body had been to said touch and in much the same manner Artesia found herself noting how Artorius's hands felt. They were obviously not soft like her own would have been but instead they held a sense of roughness to them, it was strange though because while they were definitely rough they weren't so in a way that made you think of sandpaper. Perhaps she was just focusing on it too much and that was why she found herself unable to accurately think of why they felt somewhat refreshing, or perhaps it was for another reason entirely, let us not go too much into that one.

Stitching her wound proved to be somewhat more difficult for Artorius than his had been for her and she did kind of feel somewhat bad about it so when the man gave her an intermission to drink down more alcohol she gladly did just that without a word. It was good that he finally gave up on the shitty shot glasses for Artesia was in no mood for that shit now that she had to stop herself from being ticklish for the sake of pride. The bottle she had been handed was no match for her guzzling powers and before Artroius would know it she'd have downed around half of its contents. Due to her body weight and the fact that she'd already downed quite the substantial amount of alcohol the woman had already been tipsy but now in a matter of moments she'd find herself crossing that line towards the drunken side of the border which would help with her ticklish problem substantially.

The only problem with her being intoxicated now was that it wouldn't help her uphold the willpower she'd been exhibiting so far in regards to certain things and when Artorius leant into the bite the thread like she had the woman realised that fact all too clearly. His breath was hot against her shower cooled skin and where it touched she felt a somewhat strange and tingly feeling, it definitely wasn't good and the worst part was that it continued the entire time the man was wrapping around her wound with a bandage. Everywhere he touched felt that way and so to prevent herself from anything she'd regret the woman focused her mind on the clock on the wall across from her. Thanking the gods when it was all over and done with she rolled over to her back and watched as the man smirked while praising her body in a roundabout way, oh how he had no idea of the fire he was playing with, or did he? Nope, she wasn't going there, not now at the VERY least. "Such a spoil sport." She said keeping her focus on the line he gave her about not drinking anything else, "But I suppose I can find something to do around here."

With that said Artesia stood to her feet with a spring of newly found energy and as her eyes followed the man to the kitchen she noticed the apron he was putting on to which she couldn't help but break out into and amused smile. "Wouldn't even dream of it," She said with her best angelic face on display, "Besides, It suits you." Well, she hadn't done too well on not making a comment on that one now had she.

While Artorius cooked something to which her stomach was looking forward to Artesia set her sights on finding something to do, something amusing to do had to be lurking around somewhere in the place or at least that was her line of thinking as she strolled about it biting on her bottom lip. It wasn't until she caught a waft of the scent belonging to the shampoo and conditioner that she used in the bathroom though that an idea came to her mind. It was obvious that the man liked to bring women to this place, that much was obvious and so she couldn't help but wonder what other things they might have left behind at times, and you know what that kind of thought called for? Yeah, you guessed it. It was time for some old fashioned prying. It might seem like such a thing was rather bold of the woman but given her currently intoxicated personality it wasn't hard to guess as to how she was able to do it without worry, in fact in this state she had few inhibitions other than the all too important ones -which included the all to important one for her current situation-.

As she pulled out a drawer to the cabinet Artesia did so quietly in order to avoid the man noticing and coming to ruin her fun as it had only begun, at first there was nothing but clothes in view but as she scanned them closer with disappointment something black and lacy caught her eye. It was tucked under the bottom of the rest of the clothes in the drawer and Artorius didn't come across to her as the kind of guy to wear lace, so that meant it was exactly what she was looking for. Greedily the woman grabbed a hold of the item of lace but as she pulled it out to see it in full view even she was surprised, she wasn't a prude by any means but even she had no idea exactly what the heck it was, or at least she didn't until she played around with its orientation a little bit and let her mind wander. "Hahaha, You're an interesting guy you know that." Artesia laughed heartily while holding the item of clothing out in front of her and turning to look in Artorius's direction.

Artorius knew that the two of them were already basically walking on hot coals by now. But, you can't blame the man for liking a little bit of fire in his life. It just so happened that where there's smoke there typically tends to be fire, correct? Cliche lines aside, the man knew full well that they were straddling a dangerously thin line, but it proved entertaining to such a degree that he found himself unable to stop. It's not unlike the moment you step and strap yourself into the front cart of a roller coaster. Once you get in, you have to sit back and enjoy the ride, so to speak. I swear to god I'm not even trying to make puns here, seriously. It just comes out! Dear god...

Nevertheless, Artorius occupied himself by cooking as expected. Though he didn't seem like it, probably due to the rather intimidating expression his eyes were usually cast in, Artorius had been cooking for himself for a long time. The moment the man had access to a kitchen he learned quickly, as he had grown tired and weary of stale bread and other food that he stole ages ago. It was only off of necessity that he ate like a street rat, besides the fact that he was a street rat down to the very bone. Nevertheless, Artorius quickly learned a fair amount of recipes, nothing too fancy or impressive, but always decent meals. As far as he saw it, it was just another skill he had to pick up to survive, nothing too unlike how to wield a dagger or pick a lock. Of course, they had their differences but based on that mentality that Artorius grew up with they were one in the same.

At any rate, Artorius was glad that his old apron wasn't made fun of. Though, it's not like he would have actually taken offense to it. Artorius didn't look the sort, but even he had to admit that he enjoyed cute things. Chocobo chicks are deniably adorable. But, what the man had an even softer side for were cats, especially black cats. They're just so mysterious and adorable. "Good," Artorius began with a smug grin. "Because it's my favorite," he finished with a childish tone of voice.

As the pan finished heating up, Artorius went to work slicing up some meat. Once it was sliced up properly, the man tossed it onto the pan where it began to sizzle, filling up the room with the pleasant scent of meat being fried. Soon enough, the water would come to a boil, which prompted Artorius to remove the lid and add in rice and a pinch of salt in before covering the pot and turning the heat down a bit lower.

As Artorius finished adding the rice into the pot, the man turned to see a tipsy Artesia spending her time investigating Artorius' stuff. Well, technically, this wasn't his. Thank god it wasn't his, but it's not like that made the situation much better. It was a bit embarrassing nonetheless, but he played it off with a grin. "You're not the first to tell me that," Artorius said in response as he cast a peculiar glance at the article of clothing that Artesia was holding up to display. "That aside, you're okay with fried rice, right? You better be."

Still rather interested in the strange piece of lace which was supposed to be an item of clothing Artesia kept looking at it for a few moments before she would eventually toss it back into the drawer where she found it, as she was doing that though she replied to Artorius. "Sure, I can smell the meat so it's all good." If Artorius hadn't figured out that the woman liked to eat meat then he most definitely would have had an idea after the comment she made. Artesia inhaled deeply in order to take in the delicious and appetising smell of the cooking meat and as she exhaled she wandered over towards the kitchen where Artorius was cooking. "Smells good." Taking a seat on one of the chairs at the table behind the man as he cooked she leant forwards and placed her elbows on the table and rested her chin within her hands.

If you thought Artesia was flirtatious and cheeky at the best of times then you shouldn't be surprised to know that when under the effect of alcohol she could be even more brazen about certain things and this was no different to any other time. It was a damned shame he wasn't wearing just his apron but even with his shirt on and his body covered Artorius's figure as she could see from behind him was still quite appealing, and with her imagination there to mentally undress him to what she'd already seen not too long ago she found herself watching him more than the food he was making. Nothing wrong with looking now is there? With a smirk on her features the woman chewed on her bottom lip as she watched the man toiling away at the stove top but eventually she couldn't keep her mouth shut, "Looking good too." She said in an ambiguous tone of voice. When or if the man turned around to look at her he'd see her newly found position and based on that and her expression he'd no doubt begin to wonder just what meaning her words had been intended to have. She was alright with that though, he could take whatever he wanted from them at this point.

When the food seemed like it was nearing completion Artesia stood from her seat in order to help out during which time the chair beneath her made an audible sound as it scraped against the floor beneath it. She would walk up behind Artorius and standing up on her tip toes in order to reach she would peer over his shoulder, "Need a hand?" As she spoke her voice was more of a whisper than anything else and with her lips right next to his ear it would likely come across with a double entendre as per just about everything else the pair had ever said to one another. After being directed to where she would find the plates Artesia would set them out on the table with the utensils each would need to eat the meal and after that she'd head for the man's pantry to find some condiments. If he was making fried rice then he had to have condiments, or at least that was what she hoped anyway.

Luckily enough Artorius was smart enough to have the appropriate condiments in his pantry and with the soy sauce, sriracha sauce, salt and pepper stacked up in her hands she closed the cupboard door with her foot and wandered over to the table to place them down. "So, what are we drinking with this fine meal?" Artesia questioned her companion while placing the condiments down. You might have thought she had had enough to drink but she wasn't against having more alcohol if that was what Artorius replied with, with that said she also wasn't against other things.

He was glad that she was alright with fried rice as there frankly wasn't much alternatives to eat. Artorius grocery shopped and stocked this hideout with a reasonable amount of food, and fortunately nothing expired, he even had eggs that were still edible and not smelling all funky and whatnot. Despite that, there wasn't very much diversity in terms of the types of food. He had rice, a few different meats, bread, juice, and some canned goods but nothing that would allow him to make more than a few different meals. Fried rice was probably the best and safest thing to cook, and besides, with Minstrelian blood flowing through his veins it was a natural favorite. "Good, cause there's not a lot else I can cook with the stuff I have on hand here," Artorius spoke as he fried some meat.

As he let the meat fry and the rice steam, he took a stalk of green onions and finely chopped and diced it. Given the way he wielded a pair of daggers or even his sword it came as no surprise that he was able to use a kitchen knife just as effectively. It was a carefully practiced skill that was quite different than shiving someone in the back. Using kitchen utensils frankly took a lot more finesse than turning someone into a pin cushion. As Artorius set the green onions to the side and moved to get more ingredients for the rice, he turned to see the most interesting expression that Artesia had stretched across her face. Her pert lips were stretched into a coy smirk, and she chewed on her bottom lip with her chin playfully resting on her hands. Artorius merely raised an eyebrow as he glanced at her. He could hazard a guess what she wanted. She was hungry, but he wasn't entirely sure if she was hungry for food or something else entirely.

Pushing that thought off to the side for now, Artorius spent the rest of his time finishing up the food. Artesia seemed...occupied, if anything, which left Artorius to chop some garlic (because a little bit of garlic makes everything better), thawed peas and carrots, and then tossed all the vegetables onto a skillet that he heated prior with a bit of sesame oil. Using another skillet, Artorius scrambled some eggs before tossing the eggs into the mix with the vegetables. Once the rice was finally done, Artorius added the rice along with the vegetables and egg, pouring a bit of soy sauce on top before stir frying the rice. As he busied himself with making sure the rice cooked properly, the man suddenly felt something, or rather a pair of somethings, pressed against his chest. A warm breathe was exhaled onto his ear, whose lips produced it were dangerously close to his ear, all accompanying a low whisper. Artorius stopped stirring for a moment, finding a lump in his throat that he cleared with a grumble before he responded to her. "Not with this I don't," Artorius replied coyly with a repressed grin. "Do me a favor? Set the table," the man directed her as he pointed over to one of the cabinets.

Putting the finished food onto a plate, Artorius divvied up the portions betwen them. Though, as he glanced at Artesia for a moment he recollected that she commented on the scent of the cooking meat. That, combined with the fact that she made them a rather meaty meal earlier, made him realize that she probably had a tooth for that sort of food. Putting the plates on the table, Artorius put a spoon down for each of them. "I put some extra meat on your plate. Thank me later," Artorius said to her before he made his way towards the safe. The whiskey that they had been drinking earlier was already down quite a bit, meaning there wasn't enough for the both of them knowing Artesia's habits, and the man figured that he might as well break out a new bottle, cause why the hell not? After closing the safe, Artorius unscrewed the cap and put the bottle down in front of Artesia. "Rapture Rum," Artorius said as he glanced at the bottle, noticing that it had a red-haired pirate with a pair of guns in each hand. Makes you wonder why he chose this brand in the first place. "This one's yours." The rum had a bit of pepper and hot cinnamon, supposedly added to keep you warm on deck during storm days at sea. Coincidentally, it was an import from Sin, perhaps one that Artesia would recognize.

After bringing the bottle of the other stuff, the smoke-flavored whiskey, Artorius poked a bit at his rice with his spoon before taking a mouthful of the warm fluffy rice. "How is it?"

Artesia had taken a seat at the table as Artorius pushed the plate with her portion of the meal over towards her and at much the same time that he said anything about the extra meat being on her plate she noticed it. There was a decent amount of it in his own fried rice but she could see that there was most definitely extra sprinkled over her own plate. "You'll have to let me know how." Artesia said with a repressed grin of her own, she wasn't going to be the one to back down in the game of chicken they had been playing, not in this lifetime anyway. With that said she didn't waste time in mixing the extra meat in with the rest of her meal and reaching for the condiments. To make sure that she wasn't going to be adding anything to food that didn't need it Artesia took a spoonful of the fried rice to taste it and she was glad that she had for she found herself retracting her hand which had been reaching for the soy sauce.

However Artorius had cooked the meal he'd done so in a way that meant there was no need for added flavour, which was to say that he'd done a damned good job, so much of one that Artesia found herself rather impressed. A hot guy that could cook, fight, steal and keep up with her in more ways than one? Well now this was an interesting find that she'd made. So far everything about the meal had been good but when Artorius plonked down the drinks to accompany it Artesia found herself taking the rating up a notch. "Well now there's a familiar face." She said after swallowing her mouthful and reaching for the bottle of Rapture Rum Artorius had placed on the table in front of her. The man might not have known about the syndicates in Sin but he seemed to know about their good alcohol at least, then again it could have been a fluke he acquired it and the bottle was open and all. "You like it or you've just had it stored there for a rainy day?" Curious as to whether the man had ever actually tried the drink given that the bottle in front of her had never been opened Artesia couldn't help herself from throwing out a few lines in interest.

After hearing that her companion had never actually tried the drink Artesia couldn't help but wonder if he'd like it, it could be strong and far too much for many to handle but she couldn't help but think Artorius would find it 'warming'. "She's not for everybody but I reckon a man like yourself could appreciate her." Referring to the alcohol as if she was speaking about the woman on the bottle was a habit she'd gotten from her father and other various people back at home in Sin who she would hang around and it was likely Artorius would understand why people chose to do it. It was much like how many referred to Jack Daniels as a he or used the name Jack to refer to it, why people liked to personify alcohol was something ponder but it was for another day.

"You're in the company of two lovely red-haired ladies from Sin right now, it would be a shame not to try at least one of them." She said with a tilt of her head and an expecting glance in his direction and the bottle of alcohol in her hand resting atop the table. She would pour him some of the rum if he offered her his glass or if he accepted the offer but if he refused she wouldn't argue with him. "Tasty." She'd say when he asked her what she thought of the meal, "I could get used to knowing another good cook."

Artorius didn't drink anywhere near as much as Artesia, but he definitely did know his way around a bottle. He enjoyed testing different brands and varieties. Frankly, he saw it as being not too different from trying out a different dinner plate at a restaurant. There weren't very many things that Artorius had the time to sit back during his sparse leisurely time and enjoy. A fine drink was among one of those things for the man. Other things include a nice smoke, and one or two other things, some of those at the simultaneously, but more on that later.

As Artorius pushed around the food on his plate before scooping up a spoonful of rice with a bit of meat topped on it, Artorius attentively listened to the woman speak a bit about the drink he presented her. Truthfully, Artorius never tried Rapture Rum. He had it recommended it to him a few times but never managed to try it, even after buying it he had left it in the safe for, as Artesia put it, a rainy day. But, based on how much liquor he had in the safe it wasn't like he was going to get through it any time soon. Not only that, but this place was just a hideout, not his actual apartment that he lived in on a near day-to-day basis. He came here often, but not that often. "To tell you the truth I've never tried the stuff," Artorius spoke as he took a swig of his own drink. "But, I've been told she's a fine lady. I like a bit of fire."

The man very nearly spit out the food or drink in his mouth but managed to swallow it down. It was important as he quite intended on replying without missing a beat. Once he cleared his throat, Artorius' chocolate-brown eyes locked onto Artesia's own teal-colored stare. The man's lips curled into a coy, flirtatious smirk. Drinking the spiced rum from the glass, Artorius tasted every drop of the stuff, finding it quite pleasant and aromatic, as well as pleasantly warming and exotic. "Who's to say I can't try both, Artesia?" For a moment, as their eyes locked in an captivating stare, the atmosphere of the room grew immediately tense. Though, a moment later Artorius' gaze drifted back to his food, casually and nonchalantly finishing off the rest of his rice as if nothing had happened, but he knew exactly what he said.

So far the pair of thieves had been dancing around a line, a line which both of them had been trying their very best not to cross, but the longer they spent in each other's company the harder and harder that seemingly very simple task was becoming. For reasons that neither of them truly knew the both of them were finding themselves drawn to one another like magnets and there was only so much they could do before they lost the fight, or at least that was how it would have looked to anyone observing them from an outside perspective anyway. For the pair in the middle of it things were far from as simple and/or clear, in fact they were hazy and likely for the smoke which was stemming from the fire between them.

Artesia had thrown out a flirtatious line with a double entendre much like she had been all morning however what she hadn't been expecting was the response to which Artorius gave. Sure, she'd tossed the idea of 'trying' both women out there with her own words but to think that the man would decide to reply with something which showed he read it loud and clear made Artesia wonder. It was obvious what he was hinting at but the question was; what was her reply to the invitation being half heartedly thrown before her? For a moment the woman could do little but stammer within her own mind, completely at a loss for a reply as she found herself caught up in the intense and pulse increasing stare with Artorius's brown eyes she didn't have a hope. It wasn't until the man broke the gaze to return to his meal that she felt her mind return to her, "That's a very good question." With that said both of those that sat at the table returned to their meals and with renewed vigour as they tried to distract themselves from certain thoughts with the act of eating itself.

When the meal was finished and Artesia had downed at least a couple more glasses during the time spent to eat it Artorius had a little bit more to finish on his own plate and in order to seek out something to do or to say with which to prevent any awkward moments of silence from occurring her eyes scanned around the room. They flickered over objects which held no help but eventually they settled upon the bandages which rested upon the bed. Ah, that was right, she still had to re-bandage Artorius's ribs with them. Before she could think on how getting close to the man again was most likely a bad idea she found herself up and out of her chair and well and truly making her way towards them, "When you're done there I suppose I should finish what I started." She would crawl onto the bed to take a position just far enough from the edge that Artorius could take a seat there and waiting for him she'd sit there unrolling the bandages she would need to use.

Once he sat down on the edge of the bed Artesia would scuffle closer to his back and lean out around to reach the bandage around his front, "Speak up if your uncomfortable." She said as her face leant just over his shoulder and beside his ear. While she'd been speaking about the bandages being too tight there was most likely more to it that even she didn't realise at the time.

Artorius couldn't help but grin as the woman awkwardly attempted to stammer out a reply in her mind. The man kept himself occupied by eating and finishing off the rest of his food while she struggled to find the words she was apparently at a loss for. This was indeed a fine line they were crossing. They were practically walking on hot burning coals, or thin ice if that line suits your fancy and preferences. But, neither of them had yet to be at a loss for words just yet. Artorius had admittedly paused a few times when she said a few things to him in an attempt to gather the words, or even just the courage to continue playing the game, but neither of them had been so thoroughly stumped until their last flirtatious exchange.

Inevitably Artesia did reply, but with a very vague and dismissive answer. Artorius didn't know what he wanted either. On one hand, he was all for it, but on the other hand he was simply having much too fun playing the convoluted and complicated game of chicken and catch me if you can. Yet, at the same time, Artorius was admittedly intoxicated. He wasn't full on shit-faced based on his ability to speak without slurring, but his inhibitions and decision making was a bit affected to the point where he was hardly cognizant of it all. Though, he did realize he might have gone a little overboard with his last remark, but he ultimately played it off, or at least tried to justify it in his mind as choosing to play it off. At this point, Artorius didn't know which one he was actually doing. Admittedly though, Artesia had nearly done the same thing a handful of times.

Nevertheless, with the meal and a few glasses of alcohol consumed an awkward silence filled the air. Fortunately, it was broken with purpose and direction as the topic of Artorius' ribs needed to be bandaged again was brought up. Taking a seat on the edge of the bed, Artorius sat with his arms spread a bit and his hands on the bed beside him. "Probably a good idea," the man spoke with a short sigh. Of relief, or of what? Who knows at this point.

As the woman leaned closer to him, dangerously close over his shoulder, Artorius felt the bandages wrap around his waist and ribs and the soft hands run over body. The man was at least glad that she was comfortable enough to sit near him, ideally indicating that the situation probably wasn't as awkward as it might have seemed at first. Though, he was a little unsure of how to read it all. "I'm fine, Artesia," Artorius spoke with a slight shrug of his shoulders. "Same applies to you. Let me know if you're uncomfortable," the man paraphrased to her.

Steel your mind. Run on instinct.
The response which Artesia was given by Artorius to letting her know if he was uncomfortable was amusing to say the least. Why was it amusing? Well you see for the situation at hand the fact that he was even 'remotely' concerned for her feeling uncomfortable in any regard was somewhat interesting and amusing all in itself for it made her wonder just what he was thinking. Did he think she would have continued to play the game they'd been playing if she had been feeling uncomfortable simply because she didn't want to back down? Alright, perhaps she could see that happening in some instances but most definitely not in one of this regard. If she was uncomfortable or felt she was being backed into a corner she'd show the claws that cats were known for having when confronted and cornered, there was no way she'd go so far as to continue it if she was downright against what could come of it. Even with her mind clouded and alcohol being a factor she wasn't a pushover nor was she sedate, she might have been forgetting the reasons she had told herself to behave in the first place but that was about it.

Much like the times when she had leant forwards and close to the man earlier since his shower Artesia could smell the subtle and yet alluring scent of the products he'd used but it wasn't as though that was all she could smell. With time having gone by since the shower itself the man had begun to smell slightly of his own natural odour much like anyone would and to be frank when it was mixed with the products Artesia had to admit it was alluring, more so than she'd have thought the smoky fragrance would be. It was as and because she realised just where her mind was and what line her thoughts were taking that Artesia couldn't help but chuckle in response to Artorius. "Hahaha Don't worry about me." She chuckled gently and yet with true amusement while running her hands around the man's waist as she rolled the bandage along his skin with her fingertips. If he had to be worried about anyone it was himself, the longer the night went on and the more the pair played with one another the more and more the fact of who was the prey and who was the predator blurred.

There was something in the way that Artesia had said the word 'me' that Artorius would be able to read something into and as her hand trailed the bandage down lower than perhaps it needed to go a smirk stretched across her features, the action was subtle but given the nature of things it was likely enough for him to notice.
