"How do I look?"
|
It seemed that Rou was supportive of the boy, which was all that Titus could ask of his new acquaintance during this assignment. Unlike the current host of the body, Kaku was far more naturally aggressive than his counterpart. Titus wasn't sure of the boy's capability of taking care of the kid, but the odds of making this a day that Amumu would likely never forgot were much higher in its success rate. Speaking of the little troublemaker, Titus watched as Rou switched his hoodie inside out, allowing for a more colorful tone, but also revealing the lack of a certain someone. He didn't appear to be within Rou's shirt and simply hoped that he wasn't in the pants, "Where has your little buddy slithered off to?" He didn't really mind as it was quite nice without the input of the brat, but he had signed up for this assignment and ought to be around, even if he's not helping in any particular way. They were nearing the restaurant and the birdie sitting upon Titus's head seemed to be more than peckish as he tensed up, but before they could enter the door, Titus would have to duck down so that neither he nor Amumu were taken out by the small frame. However, the kid didn't know what to do as he covered his eyes with his hand and prepared to slam into the frame, but when he uncovered his eyes, he would find himself in a familiar place. His smile grew wide as he tapped on Titus's head, begging for his attention, and pointed towards a woman that was waiting a table. However, it would take a moment before they could take their seats as they had a sign saying that they would be seated shortly. In the meantime, Titus would turn his head so that he could see the boy out of his peripheral, "Do you happen to know her, Amumu?" The boy would shake his head quickly, proving his suspicions correct, "Is she part of your family?" The boy pondered it for a moment, but shook his head. "Is she a friend of your fa-" "AMUMU!" The sudden shout caught him offguard, though when he turned to see who it might be, he would be encounted by a woman standing right in front of him. It was the waitress that Amumu had pointed out and now that she was here, he was patting Titus's head heavily while reaching towards the girl, "I guess he likes you or something, do you happen to know him?" Titus had to crouch down a bit so that the girl could reach the boy and Amumu gave her a big hug as he smiled. She returned the hug and lifted him up so that she could hold him properly, "Yes, I... just... I thought he wasn't here anymore." She had tears of joy running down, but she tried to hold them back and cover them up to the best of her ability, "Please, come take a seat. I'll finish up my orders and then we can talk a bit more, but this is just..." She sighed in relief and proceeded to lead the group to an empty booth in the corner of the building, away from the rest of the group. Quickly giving Amumu another hug, she would place him next to Titus in the seat and rush to finish up what she hadn't yet completed, leaving Titus looking very perplexed at Rou, "You don't think that..." No, it couldn't possibly be that this was something that people didn't know about. She genuinely appeared to be someone that knew Amumu on a very personal level so why didn't she know about him coming back to life? Maybe Amumu's family had left town and returned without her knowing, but even that was a very unlikely event. At least she would probably have some of the answers that they had been seeking, even if she was a little surprised about Amumu's return. Taking the kid's menu off of the table, he handed it to the boy, "Go ahead and see if there's anything you like, no matter how big or how much it costs, okay?" He would then turn to Rou, focusing more on the perplexing manner at hand, "Hey, Rou. You saw her initial reaction right? She has to know something about the 'you-know-what'..." 2 of 50 hugs achieved. Edited by Pumpkin, Jul 10 2014, 04:01 AM.

Meirou's relatively idle pondering was interrupted by a question he wasn't bothered in the least by. Although, maybe calling his other not-self a buddy was far from the truth, but this was hardly the time to get into semantics. "Kaku is back at the house to look around for more information." Meirou kept his eyes forward and wondered if the white snake did find anything. Probably not, since it hadn't been that long since the three of them went on their way. "He's being more useful away from us anyway, considering his whining," the usually polite boy commented rather bluntly. No mercy. Talking about his other not-self was no issue whatsoever to the white-haired half, and he didn't consider it rude since he's known Kaku for their whole life. Lives? Regardless, Amumu led the group of three to the restaurant and cleared the door unscathed. Even though this time he was in a different body, the scent of food once again assaulted Meirou for the day. As expected, there was some waiting time before being seated, as was the usual custom to Fiore's restaurants, and Amumu seemed to be excited about something if Titus' questions were anything to go by. And just as well, Meirou saw before he heard a female's shout that alerted the taller man. It was an emotional... reunion? filled with tears on the waitress' side. So there are people that know Amumu, that's good. The confirmation at least cleared the concern that Amumu was truly alone, but it also brought on a bunch of questions. Questions that would have to be brought up later after they settled. "Thank you," Meirou nodded a small thanks out of habit as they were seated, and soon they were left with one person looking content and making a decision, one person looking confused as if his toilet water froze over in summer, and one person waiting to reply to whatever Titus was definitely about to bring up, judging by that earlier and the current look. The white-head grabbed one of the larger menus and opened it in front of him, but his red eyes didn't waste any time glancing from the words, to where the waitress rushed off toward, to Amumu who looked like he wanted to choose the entire page, and back to Titus. He mainly opened the menu so that the two of them didn't look like they were having such an out-of-place serious discussion. "If she does, it didn't sound like she was informed about the current state of things," Meirou kept it vague since Titus was as well, "But. Judging by the time of the mission notice, there should be someone who should know. They might have kept it a secret, or couldn't keep everyone related up to date." He looked back at the menu, but he only barely read over the numbers while thinking. "Let's hear what she might say first before asking things." Meirou heard his own words, and didn't like how dull his words were. It was something the two of them could already figure out sooner or later, so he felt like he was just reaffirming the potential facts instead of putting down newer helpful info. Well, that's why they were going to talk with the waitress after all. "We still should order something, since we're here anyway," if that wasn't obvious. Meirou picked out a number from the menu in his mind without focusing much on the choice, and then looked over to Amumu. He looked back at Titus though, and gave another questioning look and asked vaguely while slightly motioning toward the younger boy. "...Like that, can food even be eaten?" Kaku did not like what he was looking at. You've got to be kidding me. How the heck... |

"How do I look?"
|
Amumu had been looking through the menu rather attentively, trying to find that individual meal that he had eaten so many times here. As Titus and Rou could guess, the child obviously was very familiar with the restaurant and potentially the employed staff. Peeking overhead at the menu, Titus tried to help narrow down the options, "What are you looking for, a burger of some kind?" Amumu never took his eye of the menu, but shook his head to deny the idea of ordering a burger, "Okay, perhaps chicken is what you want?" The boy nodded in great delight, they were one step closer to coming to a decision. He held up his hands to make two small ovals, hoping that it was an easy translation, "Ah, nuggets. Chips or fries to go with it?" The boy held up his fingers so that they all went straight up, "Sounds good, is that all?" He nodded his head quickly and began doodling on the children's paper that had been placed on each of the tables. Lunch for breakfast didn't sound too bad of an idea, considering that a lot of the early morning foods didn't quite please him. Titus wasn't certain what he intended on ordering, but figured the best option would be to go with the substandard burger, fries, and coffee. "You going to order too, Rou?" He would have been tempted to throw in some snarky snake pun, but Kaku didn't seem to want to take over the body form of them anytime soon. After a short period of time had passed since the disappearance of the women, she would finally return with a tray already in hand. On it lay a child-sized serving of minced chicken nuggets and curly fries, along with a bottle containing chocolate milk. As she approached the table, Amumu would look up to find that all the things he loved to eat were fresh and hot, "Here you go, little one. Enjoy!" He reached for the tray and placed it next to his coloring sheet, making sure to fill up the small glass bowl with ketchup before digging in. He seemed perfectly preoccupied in his dining and it gave a good chance for them to discuss what was going on so that they had at least some clue about this child's past. Fortunately for them, the waitress seemed to have the same thing in mind, "I know I should take your orders, but do you mind if we have a quick chat? You know, in private, if it's not much of a hassle." "Oh, that sounds perfect. Me and the lad have been looking for some answers since we got here, after all-" He didn't even have a chance to finish up his legitimate suggestion before he was cut off by the woman, "Sorry, I did say in private, didn't I?" Titus titled his head to look past and didn't see anyone in sight, "Yes, you did, and we are." She shook her own in distraught, "I'm so very sorry, I meant at the counter. Amumu will be fine for a moment and he'll be in sight." Titus shrugged, assuming that she was a bit paranoid whether or not that was really Amumu. After all, in this world filled with mages and magical creations, it didn't seem to be impossible even if it would be an odd ruse. He stood up and beckoned for Rou to follow in case it wasn't clear that the three of them needed to get this sorted out, seeing as the snake-man was pretty level headed with these things. Upon taking a seat at the bar and hearing the stool creak from under his weight, he stood back up and simply leaned over the counter, "If you don't mind, might I ask who you are and your knowledge of Amumu?" The woman seemed a bit startled by the question, "I'm sorry that I didn't introduce myself, I'm Nicole. You telling me you don't know about, I mean, what happened to him?" She seemed a little filled with guilt or horror, but this was some information the titan needed to know, "We only have information that he has come back to life. We're here on a mission, so to speak, to provide Sir Amumu with the best day of his life, albeit his second." Her brows furrowed in unexpected shock, "Who would request a mission such as that? Amumu and myself are the last in the family tree, I don't know how I didn't hear about his return much sooner..." Wiping her eyes with the back of her hands, Titus continued, "We were hoping to hear about his father or mother, but now I'm assuming they are no longer with us?" She nodded her head, "I'm sorry to hear that, we'll be sure to return Amumu home safe and sound in the evening in that case. Is that fine?" Nodding her head again, he figured it'd be about the time for Rou to ask his fair share of the questions, "Anything else come to mind, Rou?" Edited by Pumpkin, Jul 10 2014, 12:16 PM.
