This was brilliant and hilarious, even if it was a bit immature as it was nothing more than the cold, hard truth. The brittle air that stood between the giant and the average sized human was becoming fraction as the tension steadily increased, specifically at such a high level of intensity. It wouldn't be long before one of the two (well, all parties involved knew which one would be the one) would break and let his emotions overcome him, which didn't take very long at all. Titus raised his right eyebrow in slight surprise and genuine intrigue as the lid flew off the pot, steam coming out in a massive explosion. The young adult with the temperament of a child had finally reached the point of no returning, screaming in a fit of rage as he declared war on Titus, stating that he was going to make him bleed... Let's try that again, he was going to make him bleed..... Make him bleed? Just moments, not even seconds, would pass before the mouth of the mage would go from a little less than six feet high to a little more than an inch high from the ground.

Titus knelt down besides the collapsed individual, still uncertain what the hell this prick was doing... Was he trying to imply that his height didn't matter and that even at the lowest possible position, he still was better than 'tall' people? Perhaps he had such an overload in his miniscule mind that it literally broke and he ceased to stop functioning? Maybe he was just dead? Either way, the first and almost sole way to find out, seeing as Titus really had no affiliation with this individual, was by leaning in and poking the visible cheek of the still body. He gave it a good four or five pokes before speaking up, "Come on, we both signed up to help a dead kid get some friends. I don't think it would be a pleasure for him to become the friend of another dead kid, especially one much like yourself." Insensitive and too soon? Perhaps. He frowned, displeased by the fact that this victory was far too easy to have won, then lifted the back of the boy's hoodie. Standing up and hoisting the boy to the eye level of Titus, probably the first time he could consider himself 'tall' and looked him in the face.

The color of the boy's face seemed to have flushed out, leaving him with a white tone of flesh that was well beyond unnatural. However, when Titus went to place his index and middle finger on the kid's next, it appeared as if he was still breathing, which was sincerely unusual. Perhaps this was just a sort of gag to get back at him? After all, he was a mage and it was more than possible that this had to do with his magic. "Kaku," Titus beckoned for a response as he gave a few small and harmless slaps to the cheeks, "Just so that you know, trying to make me bleed isn't the same as trying to make yourself bleed." It was worth a shot, to see if he would give any sign of reaction, but that was when logic went to the 'nether' as Kaku would call it. The kid's hair was turning white as well, showing that he was transforming or aging or something in some sort of unknown fashion, "Rou, what the hell is going on with this friend of yours? Is he in need of some sort of medication or is this something that happens far too frequently?" The snake seemed familiar with him so he should know the answers well enough, even if he was currently out of the titan's sight.

Color soon returned, as pale as it still was, while the last of the switch completed. The circular markings on the human's face shifted from yellow to red, transitioning so smoothly through orange that it might not have even happened. Meirou, now occupying the human body, heard the questions but it was way soon to register them as such. He opened his eyes, now obviously very red compared to the former yellow, and even more obviously circular instead of slit. He was met with Titus' face for the first and, most likely, last time in full detail, and took a moment to process exactly why. Gravity pulled freely at the suspended boy while his hoodie was borderline almost choking him, but Meirou didn't panic. He was definitely surprised, but he accepted the situation as it was with the only action he could think of: blinking. It took an even longer moment to finally comprehend what Titus had been asking though.

"Kaku doesn't need medication." The response spoke loads of implied answers that definitely needed clarification, ranging from calling Kaku by Kaku to even the much slower, deliberately calm tone that belonged only to this half. But, it was really difficult to speak with the hoodie straining against the scarf that strained even moreso against his neck. Not to mention highly uncomfortable, but it wasn't like he would die for being handled like a child. Good, he made it on time before Kaku busted a head, whether Titus' or his own. "Please lower me. Talking hurts like this." He felt Kaku removing his fangs a moment earlier, which meant...

...It was really dark and Kaku knew instantly what had just occurred. Aside from the fact that he could no longer feel limbs and that his fangs were biting into flesh, flesh that unfortunately did not belong to a certain knight, nothing else short of dying could have caused his mind to disconnect like that. DAMN IT ROU. The now-white snake tried slithering out to breathe and yell, but the constriction caused from the hoisting of the hoodie effectively kept him trapped. Alright, sure, he could settle for just yelling. "SSSSSSSSCHRAAAGHHHH GET ME OUT OF THIS SO I CAN CHOKE YOU-" Smaller body, same rage, and the continued promise of pain kept going on and on. Except, the noise was highly muffled and not even Rou could understand what Kaku was trying to say outside of the fact that he was hissing his lung...s? out.

Regardless of Titus' reaction, and whether of not the knight would actually lower Meirou back to the ground where he belonged, the boy would politely request, "Please give us a moment," then would start lifting his hoodie's hem. The hoodie only, not the shirt underneath, revealed the white-scaled serpent that Meirou began to unwrap by firmly loosening and pulling away the body. Attempts to curse at Titus switched to aggressively questioning Rou. "ROU WHAT ARE YOU DOING WHY ARE YOU HANGING ME-" as it was, Kaku was held up by his tail at the distance of Meirou's arm. From where his head was, he had to look up at Rou, and didn't even want to think of how far Titus' head was from there. "Kaku. We're almost there. You'll scare Amumu like this, and you're causing trouble for Titus," he informed his other half casually, as if Titus wasn't just standing right there. Maybe the antics of his other not-self was amusing, but it could only last for so long, and quite frankly there was a job to be done. At that, Kaku dialed down to a simmering ember and started slithering up his own body and into Meirou's sleeve. "Whatever. Fine. You deal with this," he finally gave in, then gave Titus an eye glance before completely receding into the sleeve and sulking within the clothes. Fuck dealing with this mission, he'd just do the next one.

Now, Meirou addressed Titus and formally introduced himself. "Sorry for the trouble and confusion. I am Rou, and I'm actually the more human of us two." He would bow his head apologetically, briefly but enough to drag the hood down to reveal the entirety of his head. If Meirou had been lowered down to the ground, he would bend and pick up the dropped map. Hopefully, things would go more smoothly for the mage and knight now that they were done with one child.

Titus was rather relieved, much to his own surprise, to see that the color of the boy's life was reflecting in his skin. Other than the soft breathing and pulse of the boy's heart, Titus had nearly begun to think that the fellow was legitimately passing on and there would have been nothing that he could have done about it. There certainly wasn't any connection with him and Kaku, much less one of friendship and anything more than that. What it meant was that he would still have the ability to tease the little short stack, chill out with the amusingly level-headed snake, and continue on with the assignment that he had to get done. Without the mage, it was unlikely that his superiors would approve of his completion of a mission and without the approval of the mission itself, he would not be taken as seriously as he desired of these crummy superiors. That was not too much to ask for, was it? Titus shortly reconsidered the idea and realized that he could have not only been rid of the boy, but had one of the coolest pet-friend-snakes in all of Fiore... Damn...

Fortunately for the boy, it seemed that he was steadily coming back into a conscious state and Titus wouldn't have to worry about finding a doctor or healer to help him out. While it would've been pretty cool to have Rou as his own pet, just leaving somebody to die was something that he couldn't do, no matter how much of a stubborn and short-tempered brat he was. It wasn't like he was some hardcore criminal, corrupt tyrant, or dark mage and even then, Titus couldn't wish such a fate on someone so young and immature like Kaku. Speaking of Kaku, things were beginning to get a little strange. The little marks on the guy's face had changed color and the same effect would be seen within his eyes once they had opened. He didn't seem upset at Titus and had yet to finished the "I'll make you bleed" quote, plus when he spoke, he spoke in third person. It made sense and didn't make sense at the same time. There was no way that the grumpy, pain in the arse brat had matured into some calm, level-headed narrator in a matter of seconds. However, there was no way that his physical body could be that of someone else's. He frowned in disapprobation, "Not until I have some answers, short stuff."

Though answers would soon be provided as Kaku was still around and it seemed that he had heard the comment that Titus had made, much to his pleasure. The little snake that Titus had grown fond of began wiggling around, trying to escape from the hoodie that Titus was pulling snuggly against, yet it had been yelling in the same enraged tone as Kaku had been earlier. That was all it took for things to register as the giant gently placed down the boy, "HOOOLLYYYY. SHIT. HAHAHAHAHAHA." The man couldn't bare holding off the induced laughter as the boy, who now was most certainly Rou, requested some time to spend with the snake, who must be Kaku. This mage was becoming far more amusing than Titus could have ever imagined, which would make this assignment a lot more fun than before. He calmed his laughter and watched, grinning like a child on his birthday, as Rou and Kaku began discussing what they had to discuss. After Rou humbled Kaku into calming himself and giving in, he turned to Rou, explaining in the case that he hadn't yet figured it out, "Heh, I could tell the moment that you woke back up. I know you... Well, Kaku mentioned that there was a special relationship between the two of you and I guess this is what he meant." He looked smugly towards the fabric where Kaku had shriveled up into, in the case that he was able to see through, "I totally agree with you though, though I'm unsure of if that's offensive to you as well since you also seem to be a snake. Looks like a complicated relationship, but glad to actually meet you in the flesh." He chuckled, happy to be in the company of a respectable and relaxed man, as they continued on their way to their destination.

To be honest or not to be... Meirou slightly tilted his head in thought. "No offense taken. We are like snake, and we are like human too." Yeah, that seemed the simplest way to put it. He didn't elaborate since it would help neither the mission nor either of the three to start explaining their life's story. Their little situation supplied some mirth for the bigger man though, so at least it hadn't been too much of a bad start. Like Kaku, other than what was caused from his height insecurities, Meirou currently didn't care for lasting impressions as much as he cared for its usefulness toward smoothly completing the assignment. But, unlike Kaku, he actually found it easier to refrain from causing a scene. And who knows, maybe he could make a friend out of the knight. It'd be one less potential enemy in this work environment, and after the trouble at Empyrea, it was a nice change of pace to work with someone lacking of magic.

Meirou nodded and they continued on, and he folded the map into his pocket since he didn't need to fiddle around with it. Now that it was calmer, Meirou wondered more about his partner. Gruff in appearance but hearty, able to put up with Kaku's temperament, and being a knight so it was safe to assume his combative abilities to be decently high. Still, there wasn't much to immediately talk about from his end, so he winded up bringing up the old topic again. "It really is different like this though. Looking up from here." It was merely an innocent comment, at least compared to how Kaku had reacted and may still be reacting. "If Amumu isn't afraid of heights, you could shoulder him around," he suggested. Outside of the boy being young, no longer dead, and awkward, they really did have no other useful information. Well, they'd just have to learn when they get there. He didn't initiate anymore or other conversations, but wouldn't mind answering anything within reason either.

They would eventually reach the house, and despite the hiccups along the way, the hour was still set in the AM's. Standing along the entryway, there would be no signs of activity anywhere around the immediate proximity. It was kind of... dead? No rude pun intended, but weeds were growing high and no lights could be seen from behind the blinds. Then again, they were blinds for a reason, and the sun was still up... Meirou glanced to Titus, then around again. He rotated the left dial of his Entenka headphones to 'turn up the volume', but still couldn't hear anything that sounded like a young boy or parent around in waiting. He looked back at Titus, shrugged his shoulders, then would start walking up to the door if there was nothing to share. Knocking on the door was the plan, but Meirou wouldn't quite reach it. He picked up that sound long before being able to tell where the source was from. The sort of... panicked? Yelling? Sobbing? that was barreling toward the mage and knight at quite the speed from the left.

Red eyes looked toward the direction after pausing in his walk. Titus would be able to hear the sound a moment afterward too, yet all they could currently see were the bushes and hedges surrounding the house. Quieter, though still audible to Meirou, was the sound of something thumping onto the dirt from either within the growth, or behind it. "Something fell over there," he'd inform Titus, but it could've just been other kids playing around for all he knew. Whatever it was, Meirou turned back to the door and knocked on it with the oddly-shaped-door-knocker-thing that the Acacia houses lacked. Hopefully, their client was actually home, despite the signs of them being away. The darkness through the blinds, the absence of a vehicle, the general silence other than the shenanigans occurring on the neighbor's side... Or maybe they were just ninjas skilled in the art of hiding! That's silly though; ninjas didn't include undead children.

Well, at least Rou was pretty understanding when it came to such a complicated relationship and how it translated to those that had yet to see such an odd phenomena. Then again, Kaku was the same in the manner that he explained that the snake embodiment wasn't a pet nor some random animal, implying a much deeper connection than that. Titus would certainly have to ask how in the world such an improbable event could have happened to bring the two to where they were now, but for now, he wanted to enjoy the peace and quite now that Kaku had shut his trap. He smiled, knowing that the punk was probably silently sobbing or plotting his revenge, they would have their own time to settle their differences and get everything out of their system after they finished the mission. While Titus didn't really think of Kaku as a friend, much less one that he could appreciate without settling those differences, he did feel like the spoiled brat was growing on him. If at the very least, Titus could teach the kid some lessons in the off-time and spend more time hanging out with Rou.

They continued walking towards their destination, though the silence would be broken by Rou as he brought up another topic from earlier and one that Titus should have taken into consideration earlier. Kids loved piggy backs and being carried on one's shoulders and, if Amumu wasn't too afraid of heights, he'd probably have the best piggy back in his life approaching one heavy footstep at a time. He nodded his head agreement as he put a little more thought into how they would entertain the kid and help him find some new friends, "Well, it's not too bad, I'd say. Your height is still what I'd consider above average, just imagine what it would be like if you were only five feet tall or even less. Though I think I'll give the kid an offer once we see how he behaves, I'm hoping he's not too bashful." Sure, Titus didn't think about the fact that the snake height was far less than six or even five feet tall, but he wasn't speaking to Rou as if he was in the snake form now. He was used to speaking to others on a human to human basis, perhaps with the exception of Kumo, and had never experienced speaking to someone that had two physical bodies that they could switch between.

Finally approaching the house that they had come here all along to visit, but Rou seemed to have noticed something and turned to Titus with a gesture of questioning, "Not a clue." He looked around with his head on a swivel, but nothing really seemed out of place. Looking back at his partner on this assignment, he would see the mage turning a knob on the side of his headphones and continued walking, only to stop suddenly again within a few seconds. Titus stopped in place too, picking up on the sound this time around, "The hell's going on?" He kept his voice low so that they could still hear well enough and so that the family, if they were inside, wouldn't hear the titan's periodically foul mouth. Rou gestured towards some tall patch of grass, suggesting that the sound had originated, but payed no more attention as he continued to approach the door and knock on it to alert the inhabitants. However, seeing as Rou could handle himself just fine, Titus went to investigate. Carefully treading through the knee high grass as to not crush anything beneath his feet, the soft sound seemed to be getting closer. It was... sobbing?

Titus stood over the source of the tears, a small child that was curled up into fetal position. The small blonde headed boy noticed the giant's presence, but ignored it... if he ignored it, then the bad stuff would go away. Titus was having none of that though as he knelt down beside the kid, wondering what kind of bastard would have done something to cause a kid like this to cry, "What's the matter, kiddo?" The boy wiped his tears away and tried to hold back the crying to best of his ability, then looked at the stranger and shook his head, suggesting that nothing was wrong. Still sniffling, he would remain in that position until the big, bad guy left and he could continue crying in solitude, "Nope, wrong answer." Without any hesitation whatsoever, Titus lifted the boy up as he stood on his own, raising the kid to meet him at eye level. The boy continued to try to ignore Titus, looking to the side and away from him as if he still didn't notice him, but wouldn't for long as he would respond with an inquisitive glance when his name was mentioned, "Amumu?" It was a good guess, but this kid seemed about as sad as the kid mentioned in the assignment so it wasn't too hard to figure out. "Do you like piggy back rides?" The kid nodded, sniffling, but definitely more interested now, regardless of the common sense 'stranger danger' policy. Titus lifted the kid and placed him on his shoulders, much like Rou suggested earlier and walked over to the front door where the mage stood, "I think I found the kid. Do I win a prize?" Amumu waved his hand in a shy manner.

"..." Meirou was waiting at the door with the same response he had given to Titus when the man had commented on the height thing earlier: patience without clarification. No one was answering. He heard and saw Titus go see to whatever the jumble had been, and was now listening to the faint crunching of grass and sobbing of a child on top of keeping an ear out for any footsteps from inside. Still... nothing. He knocked again, just in case they were previously occupied with the toilet or whatever, but it was as if he was trying to catch the attention of the void. "...Hello?" The windows still gave way to no indication of the inhabitants. That... was troublesome. "Maybe there's a backdoor?" Kaku recommended in a whisper from under the hoodie. The snake couldn't see well through the fabric, but he saw Meirou's arm's silhouette dialing Entenka, and it wasn't like Titus' massive hulking shadow was anywhere near them to return a quip.

"That would be rude though," he figured, but still took the thought into consideration. Going up to someone's backdoor didn't seem too professional, and it might come off as an intrusion. Besides, if the client was expecting them, then there shouldn't have been any reason to hide in the back. Meirou heard boots on grass approaching, and turned his head toward where Titus had gone. The knight had returned, but there was definitely something new on him. Literally on him. The white-haired boy would have had to crane his neck even further back just to take a good look at the new addition to the group, and he would've too, despite the muted ringing in the back of his mind. Except, Kaku hissed just loud enough for the enhanced hearing of the mage in warning, a warning that had been going off in the back of Meirou's mind far quieter than it did for Kaku. Oh. Right. That was a thing. When Titus approached and stopped, Meirou took a step back instead of looking directly up. No wonder Kaku gave a fit...

He had forgotten to put two and two together. He hadn't thought that there was an actual significance behind it all. Half the reasons behind Kaku's more-intense-than-usual aggression, the bells they both heard even though on different scales... For something that they weren't used to dealing with everyday, it was such a simple thing that managed to escape their notice. Even Kaku was only able to realize it after he had calmed down to a simmer and was reduced to hiding out under clothing.

Apparently, extreme neck craning as a human wasn't something that sat too well with either of them.

Especially, considering the message it gave out. Maybe not to other regular people, but well. They weren't regular people. It was another one of those things they just had to accept without too much questioning, probably another side effect from the split and transference. Maybe the message got mixed up between the Mei of both human and snake and just stayed stuck on the limbo. A message of vulnerability, of openly surrendering... And then there was also the fact of their guild mark was separated from the world only by a thinly double-layered, small, scarf. It wasn't any of their faults for not noticing it sooner though! After all, the only other time they had to go through craning their necks that far was when they had arrived to Grimoire Heart not even fully conscious and...

This wasn't something to think about right now. It had only been a split moment, but Meirou managed to push aside his pondering to come back to the present. In front of him was a young blond boy, whose eyes were wet but no longer dripping. The boy waved shyly in greeting, one that Meirou reciprocated. Down to Titus, he would say, "Maybe. No one's answering, and I can't hear anything inside. Amumu? Hello there. Do you know if anyone is home?"

Titus momentarily thought that he had breached Rou's personal space once the mage took a step back, but dismissed it without much regard. Many people often took a few steps back whenever they were trying to speak with Titus and it wasn't the same kind of step back whenever he surprised someone with his height, the former being what was likely the case. After all, it would become quite bothersome to have to stare almost directly down at someone for long periods of time and it was likely that the same discomfort would be brought on by staring almost directly up in the same fashion. He had become used to it, yet he often times forgot about the matter of height all together... It was beginning to irk the titan that Kaku was not currently involved in the conversation as all these thoughts about his height started running through his mind and, since Rou was now taking the roll as the host of the body, he couldn't really make any jokes about it or intentionally make it blatant without coming off as a prick. Rou might have been calm and collected, the perfect mage to help Titus get this assignment done, but it was beginning to get too quiet.

Titus would attempt to turn his head to the side to watch how the boy would respond since he didn't seemed like less of a talkative person than Rou, but much to his disappointment, Amumu shook his head in a negative way. Titus frowned, this was no way to raise a kid, "Huh... That's incredibly irresponsible, I wonder where his parents went off to." Without a doubt, this was the location that they were supposed to arrive at and, while there was no absolute confirmation, the way this kid acted and responded to the name fit right on cue. Even if they were unable to find the parents of the kid, they still had the assignment to complete and there was no way that Titus was simply going to let it all end here. He was one that had a soft spot in his heart for kids, a teddy bear fluff on the inside if you will, and this kid was going to have one of the best days of his youthful life. Not only were the knight and mage going to get this poor child some friends, but he was going to be one of the most famous ones, at least in the Poinsetta community; nothing short of that would do.

Titus reached up and grabbed onto the kid's sides, hoisting him off his shoulders and placing him down on the ground so that he could kneel down to eye level. When he did so, he could still see some of the small tears forming in the boy's eyes and the streak of clear liquid that had been running down his cheeks, a disheartening sight to say the least. However, now was the time for the major hype before the big war on friendship would begin...! Or at least something of that nature, Titus would make it all clear once he put it into words, "Now, Amumu. Rou and Titus," he said as he pointed to each person respectively, "are going to help you make more friends than you could count on yours, mine, and Rou's fingers and toes altogether!" The kid looked down at his fingers, clearly trying to add such a large number up before Titus would lift his head to finish giving his short speech, "Amumu, I know that you might get a little nervous and it's okay if you do. If there's anything that you need or if you're afraid of anything, me and Rou will be there to help you along the way. Okay?" The boy nodded quickly with eyes wide open, getting into the moment, "Now, put it there." He placed his hand out in the middle of him and the child, palm facing downward, using his other hand to help guide the child's hand on top of the pile and gesturing for Rou to do the same. Once everyone would be ready, Titus would begin the countdown, "On the count of three, let's cheer for today's goals; one, two, three! Let's get Amumu some friends!" It didn't matter what was said after the countdown, but the child still refrained from saying anything, though a soft laughter could be heard behind his smile.

To borrow Kaku's words again... Damn. Now that the red-eyed mage was conscious of it, the thought of needing to look up to Titus and Amumu every time he'd need to address them left an uncomfortable note waiting to be triggered, like a calming tune with a flat slapped onto its climax. Arguably flatter was the fact that the client was no where around, unless it was Amumu who had managed to write up the assignment... And then there at the bottom of all the lovely rolled out batter was that Amumu was here alone with no other supervision. Unnaturally alive or not, Meirou had to agree with Titus' comment. All of the above was enough to furrow his eyebrows and twitch his fingers. He fiddled with his Entenka headphones as if putting it back to a normal volume, but it was mainly to smooth out the restlessness he felt for Amumu. Good thing too, because he caught what Kaku was saying. Unless Titus had super hearing, the whisper of "Don't wait for me," would only be picked up by the headphones.

Meirou wouldn't need to keep his physical distance much longer though, seeing as Titus had lifted Amumu back to the ground and even crouched to the level. If Kaku was still two-legged, one might think he'd be smirking at the sight of the lowered knight. But no, not even the aggressive boyhalf was that insensitive to the situation's place and time, and the snake in question was slithering out of Meirou's hoodie and down the backside of his legs while Titus was talking to Amumu. Meirou, confused even though he was given a heads-up, glanced down at the direction Kaku was disappearing off to in the grass, but was brought back to Titus' speech when his name was called the third time. Titus was... really good at this, huh. Totally didn't expect that. Didn't think it was impossible, but having a soft tone for kids wasn't something you'd exactly pin on a giant at first glance.

He crouched down at the cue, and joined his hand with the other two's. He offered a smile to Amumu, and put as much feeling as he could into the cheer, "...Two. Three...!" which was only about as much as you'd expect from Meirou. He was fine with this though, to continue on with the mission. They were already here, and... Well. Seeing Amumu as he was, there was no way they'd be leaving him in such a state just because there was no guarantee for any tangible reward! He couldn't help but notice Amumu's silence though. It reminded him of a time back in Magnolia, just around the winter festivities. There was Sophia, the young woman who was also silent throughout their time spent together, later learned to be unable to speak. Reserved... Kind of like Amumu here. In fact, the first thing the two of them did in each others' company after the initial misunderstanding was...

"Want to start the morning off with food?" And like with Sophia, he wasn't bothered by the child's silence. Maybe he should have considered the situation differently, since, first of all, age was a definite factor. Second was that Sophia hadn't been as much of a sobbing awkward mess when they had first met under that bridge. Still, Meirou didn't have much else experience to work off of. Why did Kaku even choose this assignment anyway... And where did he go off to? He trusted his other not-self to his own actions of checking up whatever it was that he wanted to check up, but then there was the issue of leaving a snake in someone's backyard. Oh well, Kaku wasn't stupid enough to scare the residents if there was no merit to it. "Jumping straight into it empty won't last long." While asking, he would look from Amumu to Titus, and then stand up. He kept his eyes on Titus though, and hugged his stomach area with his right arm. He patted it as if making gestures that he was hungry, but what he was doing was flattening his clothes against himself. If Titus was paying attention, it may have been obvious that there was a certain missing lengthy lump.

"Shall we go? We'll bring you back here by the end of the day, Amumu. We'll talk with your parents or caretaker when they're back or found by then."

Slithering in the grass, the white snake was making his way around the house. The tall grass was definitely a great cover for Kaku, but it also made it a pain in the hole to traverse. He wasn't obligated to do what he was doing, but he wanted to know exactly where Amumu's parents were, or at least what they were doing leaving the boy alone considering his situation! That ticked Kaku even more than Titus' stupid height, because it wasn't like it was the knight's own volition on that aspect! Of course, Kaku would never say that aloud, but the point of the matter was that someone had to put up that assignment for Amumu, and their absence was not a good sign for either party. Did they ever think that we could be kidnapping the kid!?

"How do I look?"
Rou seemed to have been a little uncertain of Titus's actions as the fellow came to the group huddle, not putting too much emphasis on the cheer itself, but more than enough to please little Amumu. The child literally had no friends and seemed to be emotionally wrecked as well so any tiny bit of praise and goodwill would help the boy out, but before they could go on their adventure to catch all the friends in Poinsetta, Rou would bring up a valid question to start off their day right. It was still pretty early in the morning so it had been quite some time since their last meal and after all, it was commonly stated that breakfast was the most important meal of the day, "Sure, that sounds pretty good. We could give our tummies some warmth and have all the energy we need to find all those friends of yours." He would look at Amumu to get a third opinion, expecting the kid to nod his head, "Isn't that right, Amumu?" Just as he had guessed, the kid shook his head in approval, still smiling in blatant curiosity and a bit of confusion.

Taking the cue that they should be getting on with their way as Rou stood up and patted himself off, Titus would stand up as well, looking at least three or four times taller than the kid in front of him. The kid seemed to notice immediately as well and lifted both of his arms up, opening and closing his hands to signal that he wanted up, "Oh, my bad. Annnd up we go." He would pick the child up and place him back onto his shoulders, where he would cling on for his life, albeit more in a happy than frightened manner. He could see everything from up here or at least everything that he could think of was within his sights, he had never been this high, even on a swingset or on the monkeybars before. Though it was a good thing that he could because he could see exactly the place he wanted to go, the 'Kitchen Specialty,' a small family diner that he had been to before. He patted Titus's head to get his attention and pointed in the direction, suggesting that's the place they should go.

Turning to the mage in response, "Yeah, we might as well head out. For his sake, I'd say he's enjoying himself so why end it here?" He was honest in that Amumu was starting to have a good time, but knowing the backstory behind the kid and how they found him crying in a curled up ball at the house, Titus was uncertain if it would even be a good idea to meet the parents in the first place. He'd probably knock out the father and give a stern lecture about responsibility with the mother, which was something that the kid wouldn't need to see. This seemed to be a much better alternative; just the four of them on an adventure. However, that wasn't necessarily true either as Titus hadn't noticed Kaku's disappearance yet, seeing as he had shut his trap not too long ago, no wonder it was so peaceful. Taking the first few steps towards the diner three blocks down the street, he ushered for the snake-person to tag along, "Let's roll out then, I hope you guys are just as hungry as I am." Like that was really possible, his stomach was probably three or four times bigger than the other two people.

"Make the most out of it, then." Meirou followed the two... he followed the one-on-one as they headed out, but kept his line of sight straight and forward and anywhere but up at either of them. Titus seemed to know where to go, or at least was being directed by Amumu, so it wasn't like Meirou could stay in the front to spare himself the effort of keeping his gaze down. "Doubtful." Luckily, Meirou would be able to distract himself from the vertical issue quite easily. As they were walking down the increasingly busy block, the three of them would be the focus of many eyes and and whispers. It wasn't an everyday occurrence to see a mini-giant casually walking among the citizens with a child atop his shoulders after all. If anyone out there had actually recognized the blond-haired child though, they had made sure to make themselves scarce. Curiousity and intrigue littered the faces of the people they passed and were passed by, but Meirou noticed no one with a suspicious expression or of much guilt. He wondered if Amumu's death had been known to other people, or if the boy had a quiet passing. Sure no friends, but not even acquaintances?

Belatedly, he remembered that his hoodie was still on its black side out. He had noticed the black sleeve when he did the group cheer, and every time his arms swung forward, but hadn't thought much of it until now that they were walking in a sort of lull. He didn't mind the colors, but there was a reason why he favored the white side while Kaku stuck with the black. Besides, garbed in the dark colors didn't exactly fit with the whole "make this day the brightest ever for Amumu" theme. While they were still walking, Meirou removed his hoodie, expertly not tousling up his scarf or headphones through years of practice, and start flipping it inside out. Once again, the lack of their fourth party was obvious to Meirou, but he had little reason to worriedly freak for reasons already discussed with himself. It was a decent day though, so maybe he'd just hold onto the extra layer. Did... Amumu feel cold? Could he even? This whole return-from-the-dead thing was a serious mystery, sad and lonely child aside. He could still eat though, if the eagerness to get breakfast was anything to go by. Meirou folded his white-hoodie and just held it in his arms. He'd put it on later when they weren't about to cross a street... A street where Amumu could practically reach the pedestrian notices from his nest.

"Amumu is like a bird. Sitting up there."

Grass. Grass. Grass. Oh nether that's a lot of ants. Detour. Grass. Not grass, there we go. In front of Kaku were the stepping stones to the aforementioned backdoor to which he had suggested anything short of busting into. Complete with a doorknob too! One that he was climbing up and hoisting half his body onto in order to peek into the door's window pane. Why there was a window pane in the back door was beyond any common sense he's had the luxury of basking in, and as questionable as the inhabitants' lack of presence. He peered in, but saw something of importance. He refrained from hissing, else he alerted some poor passerby, but he was discontent nonetheless. Dropping back down to the grass, he started traversing through the overgrowth again. Amumu had been found by Titus outside of the house, so maybe there was a reason why the young child had been running through bushes earlier. I'm gonna scare the load out of some kids if they were bullying Amumu. It was a promise, if they existed anyway. Into the shrubs he went! Okay really bad idea. Where am I even going, this better not loop around.
