Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Curse of the Sad Mummy (D-Class Mission/Private Assignment)

The city of Poinsetta was quite a grandoise sight, one much more naturally beautiful than Chrysanthemum was, even if it didn't compare in size nor structure. Titus had never been here before nor much of anywhere for that matter; after all, most of his time now was committed to training in the city that he resided in. He had to admit though that the change of pace was definitely nice, but he wouldn't have the luxury of spending all day exploring. However, he did have some time to pass off while he was waiting for a certain somebody that he would be meeting at the Autumn Harvest. Taking a step in, though having to duck down a little to avoid bonking his head on the top of the entrance doors, he would soon take himself a seat and order himself the alchohol infused Butterbeer. It was something new and would pass the time, "Yeah, I'll just take two of 'em. I've got somebody coming in soon so it ought to get things rolling a bit more smoothly."

Titus was pretty pepped up today, knowing that he would be going on his first assignment as a Private. He was finally past all the nonsense that came with joining a new allegience, meaning that people were finally beginning to treat him as a fellow member instead of some insane freak show recruit that sprung out of nowhere. Fortunately, he was used to such a frightened reaction, seeing as he is almost always more than a foot taller than any man he meets. However, he had forgotten that one's seniors of any allegience usually had a knack for treating the new recruits with a tough time, though he had dealt with that already and proved his worth to them. He was to the point of being trusted with these multitudes of assignments being posted up everywhere for anyone to take, but this one trapped the more caring side of his heart. The side that very few people expected such a hulking giant to have, but his heart was bigger in size as well.

"Okay, now where is this blasted mage..." This assignment was one that needed two people, which was a good thing essentially, as the kid mentioned in it needed some new friends. Titus would probably come off a bit too intimidating since the child had such an overbearing shy nature, but if someone was there to introduce him first, it'd definitely be a lot easier. Though the titan wasn't too sure about what to do when it came to the supernatural stuff mentioned in the assignment, it's not like anybody can come back to life whenever they wanted. Should he ask about how the kid died or how he was brought back to life? It was certainly a blessing, but was it something forbidden to speak about? Hell, Titus wasn't the best at socializing with people as his words weren't always as suger coated as others, but at least he spoke honestly. Perhaps he wasn't the best choice for the job, but now that he had his mind set on it, there was no way to boot him from it now.

Meikaku leaned against a nondescript wall of some building in some shaded corner of the Grandiose City of Poinsettia, and clicked his tongue. He had no qualms with the city itself, and it'd be more correct to say that he was just shy off interested in the place. He nor Rou had never visited, and new places were always a welcoming grounds for exploration. The main dampener to his mood, or a furnace better yet, was his reasons for being in the city. The mage was currently wearing his signature hoodie, which was flipped to have the light-black side outside this time. His yellow pants were tucked into his boots, his belt straps were clipped on his black shirt, his scarf was covering the blasted guild mark, and his Entenka headphones were at just the right volume setting. The weather was great too, with thin clouds filtering the sunlight. Still, the perfect setting was no match for the meaning of the sheet of paper rolled up in Meikaku's hand. His dark color scheme and black hair that peaked from his hood, coupled with his arms folded over his chest and a matching scowl, was picture-perfect for a stereotypical alleyway troublemaker. Fights over territorial trespassing weren't uncommon throughout Fiore either when questionable low-life thugs were involved, and Meikaku's uninviting demeanor was only a deterrent at best. The black snake coiling around his waist, however, was the main warder against any battle-hungry enthusiasts.

The mage and his snake were generally ignored, and while he wished to ignore the city's people too, he was here for a specific reason. Meikaku had been standing there for the past hour, mulling over the details of the assignment he was forced to take. Not literally forced, but while there were definite cons to being affiliated with Grimoire Heart, such as needing to take missions like these to keep up attendance and face, it was beyond a choice for him and Rou to decline. Aside from the obvious issue of feeling chained to the guild, their most present worry was the fact that this wasn't just a mission. This was an assignment. Meaning there was a knight involved. Meaning they'd have to work with the knight. Granted, Meikaku couldn't give two shits on whether or not he had to work with a child or someone as famed as the Sword Saints' top tier, but he had seen quite evidently how negatively connotative it was being labeled as a dark guild member. He could only hope this knight wasn't the super blindly righteous types. The good thing was that, for the majority of his waiting, he couldn't even feel bothered about the impending potential of unneeded chaos. Oh no, he had been too busy being dumbfounded by the details of the assignment. Seriously... who even revives just because they had no friends? Outside of sounding outright pathetic, how does that even work? Confusion led to ill-placed anger, which led to him leaning against the wall because his sense of "entertainment" to calm himself would've been more trouble than the worth.

The entire situation was dumb, but here the two of them were in Poinsettia. Taking one last breath to settle his urge to throw a fit for needing to deal with, ugh, people, Meikaku opened his eyes. The aforementioned sheet of paper was simply a map of Poinsettia, which the human unrolled. Yellow slit read over the various arrows that pointed out how to get to their meeting place. He had taken it upon himself to take some notes so that he wouldn't become lost or waste time, and even ended up learning that his partner was apparently "really tall". "No man, you don't understand! He's really tall..." Yeah okay. Autumn Harvest was just down the street, and Meikaku groaned at the thought of drunk people. "We could switch," the black snake suggested. "No, it's fine. I told you I wouldn't let you main when GH is involved unless necessary. Whatever, it's just a tiny annoyance. I'm going." With that, Meikaku headed down the street with Rou secured around his waist. Rou rested his head over the bipedal's shoulder since he was long enough to scale the human's back, and red eyes looked forward while ignoring the passing citizens. A man walking in front of Meikaku seemed to be heading into the same place, and ended up opening the doors for the trailing mage. The man turned off to a different table while smells assaulted the boys and-

Holy shit. That guy is huge. Meikaku had enough sense to not freeze at the doorway, but he was tactless enough to bring his free hand to his forehead and mouth a quick why in resignation. He wasn't even near the sitting man- He was just sitting. What the nether. Well, at least it wasn't difficult in finding him... I am going to flip my shit if this guy isn't the knight. Rou nudged his neck to keep moving, though not without commenting. "That's not a tiny annoyance." Throwing caution to the wind right then and there, Meikaku walked over to the table and tapped on the wood to get the titan's attention. "Hey. Curse of the Sad Mummy?" Reciting the name of the assignment was the best way to figure out whether or not this was the knight he was looking for, since Meikaku had no plans to walk around with his guild mark completely visible. He noted the gun-looking thing, and somewhere in the back of his mind, belatedly wondered just how the not-dead child was totally going to act when confronted by this. Because wow, excessive just earned a new poster boy. Holy shit, Meikaku really hoped this guy wasn't a super blindly righteous enforcer of biased justice.

His mug was dry and he was becoming impatient, though he wasn't sure if it'd be appropriate to get another glass or not. He had a pretty hefty alcohol tolerance so it wouldn't have much of an effect on him, but he didn't want to eventually cross that line by mistake. After all, he still had to find this mage and meet up with the kid, which would cover quite some time. He ran his hand through his short hair in confliction, then sighed in disappointment, "It'll have to wait. Perhaps I can get another round after this mess is all over." The other glass on the table was still full, but he was still very tempted to take it even if he had purchased it for this supposed partner of his. He beckoned for the waitress to make her way over, "Could I get another one of those Butterbeers? Not the alchohol one, the kiddie version." She went on her way after taking note and would eventually return with a fresh, non-alcoholic Butterbeer in hand, "Thank you."

After some more time would pass, the mug would become half-empty and a stranger would walk through the doo, but Titus didn't seem to pay attention. In the meantime, he was caught up in the game that he was playing to pass the time. With the set of silverware that had been placed on the table when he entered, he had taken out the steak knife and started to play one of his favorite games. He held it in his right hand, his left hand spread out on the table, "Oh! I have all my fingers, the knife goes chop chop chop." The knife was bobbing up and down in the gaps between his fingers as it struck against the table, quite a frightening sight for any children or people with a fear of blood. "If I miss the spaces in between, my finger will come off. But it's all the same, I play this game cause that's what's it's all about!"

He grinned as he was increasing the speed of both the song and the knife itself as it hopped over each of his fingers, "Oh! Chop! Chop! Chop! Chop! Chop! Chop! Chop! I'm picking up the speed!" Right around this time, the stranger had closed the distance between himself and the titan, though Titus was just about to finish as the mage knocked on the wood of the table, "And if I hit my finger, then my hand will start to bleed!" Finishing up the song, he moved his hand and stabbed the table where his hand was just a second ago, before leaning back in laughter, "Oh, forgive me, I was just playing a game from my youth." The man stood from his chair to properly introduce himself to the man with the snake pet, towering a foot and a half above him, "The name's Titus, might you be the mage I've heard so little about?" His hand extended, ready for a firm handshake to be returned, he didn't intend for it to sound like a rude comment. The problem was that the knights tended not to associate with mages so it was quite uncommon to know much about them in minor assignments like this.

Maybe he should have paid attention to the thump thump thump of the lyrical chop chop chop while he was walking over, but how could he? How could Meikaku have known that this giant was playing a... a child's game apparently, which involved his fingers being in close proximity to a knife he was willingly stabbing the table with? He couldn't, duh, but oddly enough, instead of feeling extremely off-put at the end of the display, the mage smirked. The buff man had guts. Or experience, or was just crazy, or could afford bleeding all over the place considering how big he was. Could he even feel a nick? It wasn't something Meikaku wanted to test, despite his curiousity toward this man of new heights.

Speaking of new heights, it was rare for the boy to have to tilt his head back. His smirk was replaced with an unbelieving frown and raised eyebrows. Yeah okay. Really tall. Six feet wasn't average around these parts, but damn did he feel small right now. Sure he always feels small when in the snake's body, and is used to looking up at people when in said body, but this and that were completely different. Introductions were given, confirming that this was indeed the knight he'd be working with, and returning a smile to his face. Part one done. "I might be, if you're the knight of heights I've been told about. I'll skip all the snarky commentary though. Kaku, and Rou here," he pointed to the black snake that was currently eye scanning the man. He nodded his scaly head.

Meikaku glanced at the table that gained knife scars worthy of war stories, and he noticed the three mugs. One was entirely filled as if awaiting entry into some poor sap's weak stomach, but he felt no urge toward the drink. As much as he'd love to chatter around with this interesting fellow, for at least the knight seemed lively enough to not be a complete bore, they had an assignment to complete. All within the day too, so the sooner they got out of this happy-dappy tavern, the better. "I'd suggest not teaching that game to Amumu though, what with the whole sensitive returned-from-the-dead-thing. Which, by the way, I have no idea how it happened, so don't ask me." He shrugged, and Rou bobbed his head in the same manner.

Keeping his tone light, he brought up another subject while trading the smile for a confident glare. "You might know some of this, but let me set some things straight since we're partners, and it'd be better for everyone to clear any confusion up. No, Rou is not a normal snake. No, Rou is not my pet. And to me, right now you are just another knight, just as how you may see me as another mage in this wonderful world of crazy shenanigans and questionable jobs that are floating around." Unblinking yellow slits looked up to Titus as he said all of that. "An assignment like this depends less on rank and status anyway, but don't take us for fools if you don't want to be one either." It's not like we're not fools already though...

He was not trying to be intimidating. He was definitely not itching to prove his standing. It was just, you know, he needed to at least show that he was not going to back down. Unknown to the half-boy, the best explanation behind his assertiveness was most likely the height thing. Meikaku felt irked that he had to look up at someone in his human form, but this wasn't something he'd admit. Well, if he realized it, anyway, at which point he'd pout and sulk in denial. Kind of like how he folded his arms right now. Contrasting to Meikaku's blunt string of words, Rou spoke politely, albeit a bit slower. "It is nice to meet you. Let's make it nice to work with you too, for Amumu." Hopefully, the child wasn't bothered by snakes. Rou was actually good with kids... Or at least, his nature made him tolerant to their usual hyper activeness.

Titus's returned his hand to his side when he was done, giving the newcomers a chance to introduce themselves. It appeared as if they were the ones for the job, but it seemed like there was one body too many. Kaku, the mage that Titus had known was going to show up, had brought along a snake called Rou. Granted, it was some sort of innate ability to understand and speak the human language, the latter of which was quite rare. Even Kumo back at his parents' house was able to understand, but speaking it was a whole other ballgame. Speaking of speaking, this Kaku individual had quite the rambling mouth on him as words seemed to flow out of it like a water speaket. He sighed, quite happy once he had finished and the snake had introduced himself like a polite young lad, to which Titus nodded, "It's a pleasure, Rou. Nice to meet you too." It was quite bizarre for Titus to address an animal like a human, but at least he was more humane than the buzzkill he was wrapped around. Now for the fun part, speaking to the other half...

"Well, I'll be damned..." Titus shook his head and chuckled, this mage really was a class act as he kept a thought to himself, "Skip all the snarky commentary my ass." It was clear that this fellow was going to be a handful and the giant was relieved to know that his offer of alcoholic Butterbeer was turned down, seeing as he would certainly need it if he was going to be dealing with this guy all day. Though, perhaps it would be worth the effort to force it down the boy's mouth to get him to shut up and warm up. Of course, he had to decide against it as there was a fine line between reality and the easy way out. He reached towards the table, pulling out the knife and placing it next to the other silverware before removing the mug, then chasing the liquid down in one fell swoop. Upon finishing, he returned it and grinned as he had his own handful of stuff to say, albeit much shorter and brief, "You know, you don't have to treat me like some high class royalty that's never done a job before. Hell, if I didn't know better, I'd think you're nervous. Regardless, I'm no better than any civilian or a mage in this city, but I don't really care either way."

"What I do care about is my job, which is also yours, and that's giving the kid the best day of his life." He wasn't sure if it was more appropriate to end it by saying 'life' or 'second life,' but the point of the message was clear as day. He reached into his back pocket and pulled out his wallet, removing some Jewels that he would place on the table that would more than pay for the drinks and a nice tip; it wasn't like they had all day to sit around and wait, considering the mage was already making them later than they should be. He tapped his wrists to give the boy an easy to understand gesture, "Now, if we really plan on making this kid the happiest child on the planet, I'd suggest we get going." He began heading towards the door, making sure not to step inside the seemingly fragile personal bubble that surrounded Kaku, but once he would step outside, he would hold it open so that the acquaintances could step out, "After you." He was beyond tempted to make one of those so-called snarky comments, but resisted so that they could get on their way.

I can't believe this guy...
I like this guy.

came the thoughts of the two as Titus paid for the drinks. No time to complain though, and that was at least one thing Meikaku completely agreed on with Titus. The not-so side-handed comment about nervousness stabbed through the mage for some confounded reason, and the guy would've been bristling if that was physically possible. He could have brushed it off as justified bantering material. He could have given props to Titus for having the backbone to put up with the mage. But nope, he just felt pissed right off the thermometer, and then even moreso when thinking of how silly it all was. Right okay, assignment. He followed the giant out and felt like a tagging child, damn it, but otherwise held his tongue. Not here. Not now. "Thanksss." He had enough of Rou rubbed off onto him to at least clench out as much for opening the doors.

Now that they were on the road, Meikaku unrolled his map again. He already knew the route, but anything would be a great distraction from his rage, even if it was meaningless actions. Taking a quick once-over, he then glanced over in Titus' general direction, because he was tired of looking up, to inform him. "Four blocks straight down that way from here." He took the leading steps toward their client's abode in confident stride, but then felt ticked that he did so. Seriously, what was up with him right now? He scowled and forced himself back to his usual slouch while re-rolling the map for the umpteenth time. "You're bothered. Why?" Even Rou, especially Rou, caught on to Meikaku's strange mood, but he only supplied with a hint of restrained frustration, "Don't know. Don't ask me." He felt like small talk would open multiple paths of him ranting about something stupid on top of his headache-inducing bewilderment, so he went back to biting his tongue and tried just thinking of activities for Amumu. What would an awkward undead child like to do and how could he gain some friends with the help of a giant and a confused ticking time bomb? ...

Rou tilted his upper body to look up to Titus while Meikaku was walking forward. The boy in the black snake was much more willing to talk than his not-other, or at least clear up horrible first impressions. "He's not like this, usually." Titus, as far as Rou was concerned, gave off the presence of a man that had goals. Goals were always a good thing to have, but it was something neither Rou nor Kaku were able to believe in outside of short-term. Feeling a little more decisive with his word choice in the presence of the knight, Rou continued, "Like a child. But. It'll be good for this, to think like one." Obviously, Meikaku could hear the conversation, but he kept shut. He had to, if there was any chance in just being able to reach their client in one piece. He had no qualms with what Rou said by default, but a conversation was never one-sided for a reason. Maybe they could bring Amumu to the forest? No other kids should be there though. Poinsettia didn't have a park either...

"Titus. How are you so tall?" The question nearly floored Meikaku into a face-plant, but outwardly the mage kept his gait. He kept all his emotional flares in one nice little box somewhere in the back of his mind, but his subconscious gritting teeth wasn't ignored by the snake. Kaku... Doesn't notice that he doesn't like being shorter? I will ask later. Later of course, being right about- "Kaku. It's okay, you know right? Being shorter for once."

Damn. It.

The black-head didn't stop himself from groaning. "I have," he gritted out, "No idea. What you're talking about. No. I am not talking about this. You can't make me, " he declared, maybe a bit too pitifully with that last part. Aaaaand there goes the steam rolling off. At least this was happening before their assignment officially started. "See? He'll deal with it. Eventually." Maybe.

A snarky thanks was given by the man, yet not a word from the snake, making the contrasting personalities even more clear if it wasn't too much before. Titus, quite unsure of how to approach someone with an attitude such as this, let the door close on itself as he followed close behind, "The pleasure is all mine." Kaku on the other hand was either stressed out or still nervous about the mission or the titan, seeing as he had to pull the map out to find the locations that he probably should have already known. As the boy informed him that it was only a few blocks away, Titus would have to lean over Kaku's shoulders to make sure that the map was proper, "Yeah, that's the place." As he would straighten back up to continue walking as usual, Titus would notice his new comrade was trying a bit too hard to do the same thing. After a bit of internal bickering with himself, Kaku would return to his former and more comfortable stance. Titus shook his head, moments before Rou would bring up some conversation to keep the moment alive, "Damn, this kid really needs to see a psychiatrist or something... Should he really be helping a kid with his own social problems?"

His face had a hearty grin on it, which the snake was able to see while Kaku seemed to keep facing forwards. "That's good to hear," he was more than obliged to begin a conversation with the snake and the fact that it was about Kaku made it all the more amusing, "If all goes sour today, at least Amumu will have one child as a friend." Sure, it was a cheap shot, but now the nervous boy with the faucet mouth had shut up. Titus knew the kid had something on his mind, like he was expanding endlessly with the boiling words of a thousand men, but the reasoning behind this sudden silent treatment wasn't too obvious. Sure, Titus's words might have gave the kid an epiphany, though with his kind of mindset, that didn't seem like a very plausible solution. After all, if he really was nervous from the get go, then maybe he was just intimidated by the hulking mass of flesh or perhaps he was wary of the Knights. While they did get along, the relations between those that joined the guilds and those that joined the Knights usually weren't very strong, if even a connection existed at all.

"I wish I could figure that out myself since my father wasn't that tall, but I can assure you, it's just natural growth." Granted, by natural, one might consider it supernatural with the heights that he had reached. However, what Rou said next was quite unexpected as the next question was in direction to his owner... master... kid...? Whatever the relation between the two was, the snake seemed to hit the target spot on, seeing as Kaku struggled to form the dishonest words of his jealousy. Titus chuckled at the ridiculous thought, it was far beyond anyone's control how tall they were, "Ah, Kaku. It wasn't too long ago that I met an old fart named Orion, he was a good six inches taller than you and he had quite a similar reaction of surprise when he first saw me. He had gone most of his life above others in height, but it was quite a change for him to have the shoe on the other foot. Hell, when the brute and me fought, he even tried to headbutt me! I thought he had mistaken my chest for a pillow at first." Granted, there was no moral to the story, but at this point, it would allow for time to pass quickly as they were on their way and potentially cool the kid's temper.

For someone really big, Titus' matching-sized grin wasn't all too surprising for Rou. He did contemplate on how much of his body would fit into the titan's mouth if the man ever ended up going on some wild crazy feeding spree of sorts like one of those ridiculously rumoured mountain-sized monsters told of back at Empyrea, but the strange thought passed as soon as it came. The mention of natural growth was far lackluster in comparison to what might have been, but reaching higher than a foot over Rou and Kaku's human body was already rare. Or special. Or impossible to believe until someone saw it for themselves, and Rou had all the proof he needed right in front of him.

Denying the truth would lead to no where, but that didn't mean Meikaku would outright accept it without an opinion. He was already internally complaining about it, so why not have at it vocally yeah? He heard the chuckling loud and clear, but the man kept talking on and on about some Orion dude that was, well well well, also taller than Meikaku. Yeah, six inches, not bloody three times as that much! Sure the mage wasn't that tall, only hitting the six-foot mark give or take an inch, and yeah okay it was far from unique to exist hovering between six and seven, but... but! Arrraaarharaghrghhahg! The more Meikaku tried justifying to himself his insistence of Titus' height being absurdly stupid, the sillier he felt. "Shoe on the other foot...?" ...Shoe underfoot? "...Man underfoot?" Heh. Rou's play on words only supplied a moment of calm before Meikaku couldn't take it anymore though.

"What was even the point of that recount anyway? Despite feeling like the story was nothing more than a deal-with-it-everyone's-shorter-than-me statement, Meikaku had listened with a piqued interest. However, it was more on the aspect of another taller guy assumebly stumbling under Titus, which redirected only a spoonful's worth of his irritation toward good ol' laughing. Unfortunately or fortunately, Meikaku's solo attempts to sort out his uncalled-for bitterness, and now with an innocent anecdote on top of that, finally led to an unfiltered, long-winded rant. "And a headbutt pillow? I can imagine it now: two titans engaging in some extremely awkward towering display of one-sided dominance because why not! You could step on everyone, you know that? Nether, you could probably swallow Rou too if you wanted. I wasn't going to talk but forget that now." Meikaku continued looking forward, but started gesturing with his hands at nothing in particular. Rou on the other hand, bopped his head against the mage's neck through the scarf to stop him from starting, but the boy brushed it off. He was doing this.

"You said natural growth right? Are you telling me you just kept going and going without any control until you came to this? Because damn, that must've been annoying. Especially if you grew up in one of those stereotypical houses with average-length beds that fit the walls snuggly. It's out of your control, I know, but your height is excessive. Wow Kaku, great job on the obvious! It's annoying to look up to you. Very annoying, you know? Oh wait, maybe you don't." Cue insensitive backlash regret... No? None boy? Okay then.

Except Rou actually bit and gnawed Meikaku's ear for that one, but only with his back teeth and not the fangs. Showing up to the child's house all bloodied up wouldn't exactly be considered A+ material after all. "Ackkkkkkk- Hey! I'm just saying here. Do. You. Want to know what it feels like looking up at something? We can arrange that you know. Maybe flip your sense of normalcy or something." Meikaku was actually feeling a lot better after that rant; he was even smiling like he normally did, even though it looked more like a wide smirk than anything. Assuming he was actually able to finish it all in one piece, of course. The offer, if it was able to be spoken, was as genuine as he's so far been in terms of "lending a hand". He really was serious, because while his tone was now unburdened by pent up befuddlement, it would do so much more wonders just to watch Titus have to look up.

Rou was quite an interesting... creature as he tried to perform some wordplay to pass the time, which Titus appreciated. They had a long day ahead of them and at this rate, Kaku appeared as if he was trying to spoil the fun that was to come. If the rest of the day was like this, then it would be quite a poor turnout for the knight's assignment. Their goal was to bring splendor, joy, and happiness to this child that had some odd sort of second chance, though he'd probably need another miracle after meeting this spoiled, ignorant brat. How old was this mage anyways? He looked like he was well within his late teenage years, but his mind was less than that of a prepubescent child that whined when things didn't go his way. It was a pity that Kaku didn't have a similar personality to that of his pet... friend... Err... what kind of relation do the two of them have anyway, considering Kaku mentioned it was unique? Just about the time that he opened his mouth to ask, Kaku had opened his own, with a mouthful of commentary to unleash on the moment.

Once the boy had taken a break to return to his stuttering train of thought, Titus figured it was worth while to agitate the individual some more. Hell, all the boy had to do was chill out like his snake and it'd be a pleasant day, but that was far from the way that it was going to go. "If you ask me, you'd probably participate in such a battle to just to show that height doesn't matter when it comes to such trivial subjects, which I promise you it doesn't." Besides that, what did the idealogy of him having the capacity to swallow Rou whole have to do with anything? Granted, he might like some spaghetti from time to time, but he didn't intend to make it out of exotic animals. "Besides, it'd be a disservice to do such an thing. While he may not be human, he's certainly a respectable individual, more so than some that I have met." The comment's underlying meaning was rather obvious, but little did Titus know, there was a more ironic message in it that he had yet to realize.

However, Kaku seemed rather relentless as he went on in a rant about Titus's height, even if neither of the two parties had any direct control over it. His endlessly streaming mouth of blah blah blah blah blah continued on as if the words really mattered to Titus, which they did... in a way. He found it incredibly humorous to see such a troublesome individual become so infuriated by such an irrational manner, that he couldn't hide the wide smirk that was plastered upon his face. All the things that Kaku was going on about really were rather ridiculous much like the matter of beds and walls, but he let the boy continue on his his flustered rage. He even began talking to himself as if he was Titus, congratulating himself on stating the obvious as if he had lived the entire lifetime of Titus's history before shutting himself up. Though it wasn't long before he'd snap back once Rou bit him, thinking the same thing as Titus, "You know what, I think you're running a bit low on your ego so I think I'll give you a boost." He crouched down so that he was barely under the six feet height of his company, "Is this low enough? Oh, perhaps a bit lower? Maybe I should lift you up on my shoulders, but then again, that would only enhance your false hopes."

The smirk never came. What was coming was the client's abode, about another block and some steps, and if they were lucky, no one would be caught up in anything before arriving. Like getting arrested. Namely, Meikaku. His responsible side, the voice of reason focused on the assignment at hand, small as it was, had been trying to tame the furnace for long enough to last the day. At Titus' comment about his bruised ego, as if, and doing something about it, the mage finally looked over to the man for the first time they had started walking despite thinking, knowing that he shouldn't have. But curiousity overpowered his responsible side's dread, and there was the man's face right at his level. Meikaku stopped.

Wow.

If his eyes could focus any narrower than his snake-like slits, he'd be blind. Right then and there, something clicked in the back of his mind. A pin drop described it, and with a vague sense of defeat, there was a pause. A pause that didn't even last a second, before Meikaku bared his teeth in preparation for possibly the most ridiculously complex-driven burst of rage Poinsettia would experience this year. Flames were rekindled this day, flames that Meikaku hadn't felt in so long, and he would've enjoyed it if he could even think. No, all he felt was wanting to sink his fangs into Titus' face and maybe rip something off. Wait, not fangs. No, yeah, fangs... Teeth, canines, human teeth, right. It would do.

"I'M GONNA MAKE YOU BLEED IN RE-" the promise of pain he was trying to yell out in full throttle was abruptly cut off, as if someone conveniently hit the mute button. The boy had froze, open mouth and all. Was it a miracle that brought on this silence? Did his anger short circuit? Did Meikaku finally stop caring enough to drop it? Debatable, but Meikaku did drop, literally. His eyes lost their spark and faded in color, while his body went limp. He would hit the ground on his side if allowed, but regardless, there would be no reaction from him other than his eyes, half-lidded, draining of color until it was white. He breathed, but made no sound. Rou made no sound either; in fact, he was currently under the boy's shirt with only his wrapped portion visible.

Backtrack two minutes earlier, Rou had been silent since Titus' comment about being inhuman. There was no reason to correct the man, but he couldn't even if he wanted to, considering Meikaku and his continuation of a rant about nothing particularly important. Rou didn't find the height difference important, nor did he have much of an opinion as forced. Their knight partner was tall, abnormally so, but it was as simple as that and the not-boy accepted it with ease. Then again, he wasn't the one bent up on feeling in control, and Titus' abnormality was affecting Meikaku's bubble of security far more than either of the two would like to admit. The snake was relieved though, maybe even glad, that the knight was dealing with his counterpart in stride, going so far as to smirking and- Oh shit.

Rou wasn't one to swear up and down, that was Kaku's thing, but he knew what was about to happen before his other not-self even started. Normally, the not-boy wouldn't interrupt Kaku, but he was not going to allow the actions of right now fail them on their assignment. Pulling off what would be attributed to an actual snake more than ever to himself, Rou moved fast. He lowered himself down Kaku's back when the boy had stopped walking, and then snuck under the hoodie. The mage hadn't even given much thought to Rou's movements while he was embracing his ignited long lost wildfire, and it gave the snake enough time nip into Kaku's side. It was a quick bite that pierced through the thin shirt with fangs, breaching the skin but shallow enough to not draw too much blood too fast. He held on silently, until his individual thoughts were disconnected and Meikaku fell, and Inscriptive Id kicked in.

Back to present time, Meikaku's hair would appear to be bleeding white from the roots, as if milk was being fed from his scalp and overtaking the black hair until at last the tips would slowly lighten to snow white. If the hoodie was removed, the snake that held Rou just moments prior would be brightening from black to white, starting from the head where he had bit into the mage. The scales' color was slowly changing at the same speed as the boy's hair, from black to white all the way to his tail, but neither of them would be responsive during the process. It had been a drastic move, something that left the both of them in the most vulnerable state possible, but Rou had not wanted to risk a fight or worse. This was their first official mission-assignment for crying out loud, and they were unlucky.
