Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

The resentment, the disagreement, the dislike -no, the hate- emanating from Noel to Hakore was palpable to the darkly horrific being and he was so very amused by it. Part of his being wanted to simply laugh in Noel's face, wanted to just turn and explode his power upwards. However to do that was to be detrimental to Eric's life, for the only power remaining within Hakore now was pure desolation to all life - including the one he was inhabiting.
"Too many people have opinions on things they know nothing about," Hakore said with a small laugh, the eyes all over his body shining with amusement, "And the more ignorant they are, the more opinions they have. I have everything I need from you on this day, Noel Aramis. There is no need for us to discuss now, you can go."

It was a simple wave of his hand, a casual gesture that meant nothing at all but Noel would immediately feel a hook-like sensation on the back of his neck at his collar, as though something had reached down and grabbd him and pulled him away. In an instant the room with Hakore was vanishing rapidly, dwindling into a blackness that Noel was now being sucked into with nothing stopping him.
Soon the blackness was replaced with light, a dim light and grey but it was there. Soon the light began to brighten, though whether it took moments, minutes or months was not very clear. But images formed, a large white room that Noel now found himself in, a large white room with thick black chains.

And the boy Eric hanging in the middle.

"Oh, h-hey Noel," he said with a small wan smile, the pressure on his body clearly visible to Noel as he hung there, the bunched shoulder muscles tense and unmoving even as he strained, "Looks like... not much changed... huh?"
But things were different now, the room was no longer dark and hidden it was bright and clear. That same room as before was huge, endless possibly but it was clear and bright now, with just shining whiteness all around. Why was it white now though? What could it possibly mean?

It felt to Noel like Hakore was trying to avoid the question he had asked, and the statement he had posed; if he was doing that, didn't it mean he'd perhaps seen at least a little bit of truth in the words of the young Mind mage? Whether that was the case or not, was not of Noel's concern, however. He wasn't trying to prove anything to him. He'd come here in order to find more out more about Eric - Hakore was right at least when implicitly stating that Noel didn't know everything yet - and if he couldn't accomplish his mission by talking to him, then there was surely another way.

The sudden movement through time and space of Eric's mind reminded him a bit of the nauseous feeling he felt whenever he entered another's mind. It seemed over soon enough, though, and he was once again placed into the same room he'd been in before: the room where Eric was suspended in the air by a number of chains holding him in place. Not that he'd know, since it was completely dark when he appeared in it, though just a second later, it began to fill with light, whiteness starting to chase away the darkness that had been populating the area up until then. The brightness was making the boy raise up his hand to shield his eyes for a moment, not used to the sudden alteration. When they accustomed appropriately, his hand was pulled away, and the mage's eyes stopped on Eric.

"Eric..!" he exclaimed, surprised that he'd ended up here again. The most obvious change in the room was a bit alarming as well, and he wondered if it was his talk with Hakore that was the reason for it. He'd been nowhere else in the meantime - so, what else could it be? "I.. are you okay?" he asked first, wanting to make sure the boy was at least somewhat fine. "I'm not sure what happened.. though, the room seems different," he spoke, looking around himself now, while still approaching Eric. Once he'd stopped in front of him, his eyes followed down his arms to the shackles that were holding him. They seemed so out of place, with their black color imposingly noticeable in the whiteness of the room. Maybe he just needed to get rid of them, and he could free Eric from this cruel prison?

"Does everything seem the same to you?" he asked. He suspected Eric wasn't able to see the change of color in the room, judging by his first statement.

"Well, it's brighter if that's what you mean," Eric said with a droll little laugh, strained as it was by the constant and immense pressure on his shoulders, arms and torso, "But a little bit of light when there's not much to see except these ridiculous chains is kind of hardly worth me really caring about in the long run - it doesn't exactly get me out of here."
Maybe it was a cruel twist of fate or maybe it was long in the making with the change in the room, but Eric's words were not as innocent as they should have been in the grand scheme of things. Especially once the tearing sounds began to echo from both sides of the room, a long way away.

Eric heard them first, turning his head to the left then to the right as the sounds of metal slowly being torn and... and chewed... echoed their way down towards him. Noel would hear the sound not long after, and if he went to investigate...
It was some way down thankfully, maybe a few hundred metres in either direction, but where the chain before had continued onwards into infinity now it sort of just ended, suspended in the air and slowly receding. But it was not just receding, it seemed to be somehow... alive? Almost as though the chain was not just that (which evidence had already suggested) but the links of the chain had transformed into tiny mouths, mouths that feasted on the links behind them and then spread forwards and onwards, slowly eating the chain towards Eric.

The same was true on both sides as well, Eric however had had no pressure release on the chains holding him up, if anything it was actually tighter. So if Noel went and looked and then returned Eric would inquire what was going on, though if Noel would tell him or not was another question.
Especially since a large black door now shone behind Eric -too far for him to turn his head to look- that would lead, if Noel went through it, to the streets of Acacia once more, though this time wreathed in flame and ruin as dark explosions of energy echoed from far away...

Noel nodded to Eric's response. "You're right," he said, "But perhaps I can try to do something about that." Moving closer, his hands were placed onto one of the chains that held Eric in place. Tugging on it once, the boy didn't expect it was going to budge. But when he wrapped both of his hands around it and pulled as hard as he possibly could, he would've thought maybe something would have happened. Ironically, it did, but it was really nothing he was expecting. Instead of the chains succumbing to the powerful pull from the otherwise fragile-looking boy, a sound was now coming from all directions that several chains were disappearing to. A most peculiar sound, it was, one that was somehow sending shivers down the boy's spine, as he listened to its constant presence. Letting go of the chain he was holding onto, he remained staring in the direction of the same chain disappearing into nothingness, while he spoke: "I'll go check what this is about. Wait here."

A somewhat unnecessary remark, since Eric wasn't going anywhere.

Following the chain, the young Mind mage started to walk alongside it towards the source of the sound. If he glanced over his shoulder, he'd see Eric getting smaller and smaller, as the distance between the two of them began to increase. With that, the sound got more pronounced as well, though it was so.. different from anything he had ever heard, that he couldn't guess what it possibly was. Good thing he was spared from knowing for a little while longer, because when the 'end' of the chain, where the sound was coming from, finally came into his sight, the implications of where this was going, were enough to make Noel widen his eyes. Considering there were a couple of chains holding Eric in place, that meant the situation was worse than it seemed at first; even if he managed to somehow - and he didn't really know how - to stop one of these chains, there were still a couple of more, each one of them in another direction. What was he going to do?

Obviously, there was no point in running back to Eric just to tell him what was going on. It would just give the mouths time to eat their way closer to the boy; besides, he didn't want to cause unnecessary panic with him. Maybe he could somehow resolve this without Eric really knowing what was happening, and what the sound was about. One of the possible ways would have been to somehow cut the chain, at the part where the mouths haven't reached yet. Maybe that would make them eat the rest of the chain up to the point where it got cut off, preventing them from continuing towards Eric. Yeah, that was his best bet right now, and he had to try something. But.. how was he going to cut the chain without anything sharp on him? "Nh.." he groaned; even with his raw power of muscles, something like that couldn't be achieved so simply. Then, he remembered his quarter-staff: it was a blunt weapon, but perhaps if he applied more force, it could simply.. cut through the chain. It was the only thing he could try right now, so he didn't want to waste any more time. Untying the staff from his back, he held it on one hand, almost like he would a sword, lifting it up and then bringing it down with as much speed and force as he could muster. The staff collided with the chain, but just like he'd expected, it couldn't cut through - it was too blunt.

Maybe, if... "Oh, I have an idea..!" Once again, he brought the staff up, above his head. With a swift swing, he brought it down towards the undamaged part of the chain; but the moment before it would collide against it once again, the boy muttered: "Mind Blast!" Channeling the power of his mind through his hands and across the bottom part of the staff he was holding onto, he created an additional layer of mental force that was added on top of the physical amount that came from the momentum. Perhaps, that would be enough to cut through...

Unfortunately Noel's kind-hearted attempt to prevent the suffering of his friend was ineffective, in fact if anything his "Mind Blast" as it were only exascerbated the issue. The mouths did not exactly speed up their feeding but the amount of affected links increased as the foreign magical powers of Noel collided with the chains that bound Eric to this strange semi-space inside his own mind. It didn't extend by much but there were clearly more mouths than before... although maybe they slowed a little. Not much, maybe not visibly, but their overall rate of progress was slowed by about 10%. On this chain anyway.

The Eric hanging in the center wasn't aware of this, all he was aware of was a vague hazy outline now standing before him. It was too far from Noel's current position for him to see -and in fact it was only appearing before Eric anyway- and it slowly coalesced as Eric watched, forming up into an image of himself... though older? The man was handsome enough with his dark hair and pale skin, his facial features obviously quite pleasing to behold and all that and the way he stood and the way he looked down at the chained boy were all clear indicators that this was Eric, or at least a form of himself in some manner.

"What are you doing?" the image said softly, his voice somehow lighter without being different than Eric's voice currently was, "You and I know full well you don't need to stay like this, you and I both know you could leave at any time? Why are you torturing Noel?"
The chained Eric blinked in surprise, prompting the other one to go on.
"You're here of your own volition really, if you would stop this nonsense then Noel could find what he really needs to see and we could move on, stop torturing him... and yourself."

The chained Eric didn't respond, simply shook his head slightly and looked down, prompting the figure to simply vanish...

"Well," Eric said -the real Eric, the one that Noel was now inside the mind of- as he lay down the book he had brought with him, all 718 pages having been read in the amount of time Noel had been unconscious this time around, "That was interesting... But right now I'm way bored."
His snake looked up from her snoozing spot, a beautiful sunbeam that shone in perfectly through Noel's windows and onto her. Flicking her tongue she returned to her rest, Eric now drumming his fingers idly on the cover of the book. Surely there was something he could do here...
Maybe he'd cook something for Noel for when he came back.

Even if what Noel attempted didn't work, he wasn't going to give up. Fairy Tail mages were stubborn as it was, but even if that wasn't taken into consideration, this was still about his best friend. There was little Noel wouldn't try in order to at least try to save Eric, and this was no exception. Knowing fully well that he was on a time-limit, mostly because the mouths were certainly making their way towards the center of the room where Eric was, he was even more so determined to do something about it, in order to prevent any potential catastrophes from unfolding. After all, he had no idea what was going to happen if those mouths did manage to reach Eric, but he definitely didn't want to wait long enough to find out.

So, when the strikes of his staff, later on empowered by the strength of his spell, didn't work out, Noel didn't feel discouraged. Instead, he would try to come up with another way that he could stop, or at least slow down the mouths. It was a shame his earlier method didn't work, and that the slowing-down process was not even noticeable, which meant that Noel himself didn't even realize that his attempts were at least a little bit helpful, even if it was only on a single chain, not to mention that they were far from achieving what he wanted. Whereas that would've probably been helpful to know, it didn't mean he was any less certain that he could do at least something to stop the chains, even if it meant putting his life on the line.

"Telekinesis!" he tried next, focusing the power of his mind on the mouths; but he couldn't move them off the chain, simply because it seemed like they were basically tied to it, being a part of the whole structure. "King's Presence..!" he bellowed next, but when the field of mental energy arose around him, without slowing the mouths down even a little bit, the boy groaned. "Oh, right, that won't work on non-living objects.." As soon as he said that, his eyes widened at the sudden realization. If they weren't living but rather sentient objects - then he could use Animate, and order them to stop. In the opposite case, meaning that if they were living objects, then using Mind Control would basically result in the same thing.

As such, the boy would try both starting with Animate. If one of them didn't work, then the other one had to, he was sure of it. However, if due to some weird coincidence, neither of the two spells didn't work, the boy still wouldn't be prepared to give up. In that case, he would simply grab the chain with both of his hands, disregarding the fact that his hands could get bitten; in his mind, all he saw was that by placing himself in the middle of the mouths and Eric himself, he would be able to somehow prevent them from continuing further.

In all honesty it didn't really matter what Noel tried - at most more mouths appeared and they slowed down a little more but the returns were diminishing, overall the progress was only down by about 20% in speed but there were about 10% more mouths too so it was an odd trade-off. At least, nothing worked until he tried his Animate spell... but even then it didn't work how it was supposed to. The chain was animated sure, the technique took hold but as soon as it did the chain in fact began to rise up, curling over a little and hovering now over Noel. It was animated in the literal sense of the word - moving around now and swaying back and forth, almost like a snake about to strike...

From further down however came a cry of alarm, Eric's youthful voice to be sure, and a single calling for Noel's name. He didn't care about whatever it was that Noel was doing as a figure was approaching, a dark figure and tall in a long dark cloak and a hooded smile atop it.
Theodore.
He approached Eric with an obvious purpose, intense magical energy radiating from his body with a clear energy, a dark aura but not black like his sons. It was almost blue in a way and the way it radiated off him was not a simple shape around him but radiating outwards like ripples, his approach towards Eric not hampered by anything.

He arrived before Noel could too, stopping a few feet away with a simple nod.
"Eric," he said in his deep, resonating voice, "You're looking well."

The issue with wanting to cook something for Noel was that, first of all Eric wasn't 100% sure what the other boy ate or even liked and, secondly and probably more importantly, Noel didn't have the specific ingredients Eric required now he had already decided on a recipe. This was an issue solely because he wasn't exactly sure if he could leave to go and get them since Noel was in his mind after all and he didn't know the effective range of the ability from body-to-body. Still, he would try and make do and after raiding through Noel's refrigerator and pantry for a time he finally had an array of ingredients on the bench-tops before him with which he could make something awesome.

Probably.
