Theodore wasn't sure whether to sigh or laugh at Noel's question once all of the information had been laid forth, wasn't sure whether to guffaw in his face or shake his head ruefully at the boy's lack of insight into his "friend" who's mind they resided in. He chose laugh, after a few moments, a single mocking "Ha!" that would probably be fairly cruel to Noel's ears before he simply shrugged and stood up from the couch, a spiraling black portal appearing to one side of them - Noel's right, Theodore's left. "In no way do I think that destroying Hakore will change my son's true nature," the man said with that same laugh, that same derisive tone and those same cruel, mocking eyes, "The only thing that will change will be the influence on his body, the true horrors that await him as a vessel for a being that exists outside of this universe of ours. No, removing that parasite will not harm him in that way, he will always walk in the shadows... long ago has he made sure of that." With a twisting of space Theodore vanished, leaving Noel alone in the empty room with that spiraling black portal, large enough to step through but looking so terrifyingly out of place and almost... hungry. Like it wanted Noel to step into it. Doing so would be the path to enter a part of Eric's mind he had once been inside of but was that it? Noel could just as easily explore here if he wished, walk out of the door and around the village outside if he so choose. There was nobody else here, for all intent's and purposes it was an ordinary little village with no inhabitants, long since abandoned in this mind realm as it was in the real world. Noel could even range out wider, into Fiore itself as documented by Eric in his mind during his many many travels, but it too was empty. And no matter how far he went eventually he would hit whiteness, an oppressive sense of need to return to this house, this room, the portal next to him, and enter it... To do so would feel like being sucked through the most awkwardly shaped hole, as though his body was being twisted and contorted for hours upon hours to fit through this one shape, but at the same time it all happened within an instant. He was in horrible agony for a long time and then he wasn't all in the same heartbeat, standing once more in the long white corridors where he had once been. It was a strange feeling, almost like it was an ominous feeling in the air that something was watching Noel. And something was, eyes that opened every time the boy looked away, opened from the walls and the ceiling, from the roof and the doorways. Eyes that were red and burning with hatred and anger, a want for this mind mage to flee and leave this place. And thus, as Noel would begin to walk he would hear steps, steps from afar, steps that were not his own... Steps that were growing closer. |

Noel remained quiet, but that wasn't because he had nothing to say to Theodore, but because he hoped that if he didn't say anything, he wouldn't have to deal with the man any more. He'd never really liked him in the first place, not only because of what he'd done to Eric, but also because of his attitude. And now that he was in his vicinity for a bit longer, that characteristic was coming out more and more, and it was making it harder for Noel not to grit his teeth together and attack him right there and then. He didn't in the end, because he had the strange thought that this was what Theodore would've probably wanted, that these taunts were just a way of testing him, and seeing where his limits were. Naturally, Noel wasn't going to let that get to him, but that didn't mean he was starting to dislike Theodore a lot. It wasn't so much the fact that he'd been making fun of him, and laughing at his questions and comments he made, oh no. What hurt him the most was the way he mocked and looked down on his friendship with Eric. That was something he simply couldn't forgive him that easily. Luckily, he didn't have to look at him for much longer, because Theodore would disappear, leaving only the portal behind. There was so many places Noel could go at this point, and in a way, he wanted to do that simply so as to go against what Theodore would've wanted. But at the same time, he knew how dangerous that could be, and that he would most probably have to go through the portal in the end if he really wanted to get to Hakore. That was his currently most important objective, and there was definitely no time to fool around. Still relatively annoyed by how things went with Theodore, the boy finally stepped onto the portal, and immediately he felt a weird feeling in his stomach, as if something was turning his entire body around and then upside-down and then to different sides, until he didn't know what was up and what was down any longer. He closed his eyes then, and it felt a little bit better, but he was still feeling nauseous from the feeling. It was much like the time when he entered Eric's mind, or at any point when he'd use Sixth Sense to get into someone's mind, really. Still, it wasn't quite the same, which was why the boy wasn't quite used to it, but he'd endure through it. The pain had him gritting his teeth together, and it was a good thing that he'd closed his eyes so it'd be easier for him to suffer through it. Even when the feelings finally ended, he'd keep them closed for a while, before fluttering them open and noticing he was once again on that light corridor. Something felt different though, he could feel it. It was like something was watching him as he began to walk, but at the same time it was like he was alone. It was an uncomfortable feeling, definitely, especially since the Mind mage could feel that thing didn't want him there. And then, he heard the steps coming closer. Looking around himself, trying to find the source of the sound, he would encounter what was coming towards him.. |

Noel may have heard the approaching footsteps but by no level did that mean he was truly aware of what was coming. He should have understood that Eric's mind was inhabited by far more than simply some people from his past by now, that his mother and father and Hakore and E all held some sway but there was more to the boy than that. He should have known there were other forces at play here, the forces of Eric himself not to mention some other things and people who lay in wait in Eric's memories. At first there was nothing of note that was extremely out of the obvious to the Mind Mage, just the sound of footsteps at a walking pace coming towards him. But the pace picked up before long, turned from walking to a slightly jauntier pace, one might almost describe it as... skipping? It was jovial and quick and almost moving in a musical tune and before long a small blonde girl rounded a corner, a blonde girl with green eyes and a huge smile. "Hey Noel!" Jessica called out with a happy wave, "Long time no see, what are you doing in the park?" Yes, she had said park, maybe it was all about the power of imagination here and now but there was no more corridor as soon as the syllables had left her lips; Noel and Jessica were standing in Southgate Park, the wind blowing around them and swings moving gaily to one side as children played. She was happy and relaxed this Jessica, her smile wide and her eyes focused onto Noel's own as she got closer to him and she hugged him quickly when she reached him, quick-stepping a few paces back afterwards. She seemed beyond happy she seemed radiant - her skin literally shone with light and her eyes were the colour of emeralds. She had a halo around her too, a powerful aura of light and joy... "You!" the voice that rang out from nowhere was a new one, the sound of an older man, a stern man who expected to be respected -and even more so he expected to be obeyed- a man who was bald and in long robes as he approached from across the park, "I knew I would find you here girl! You will not escape my plans once again!" A fireball blossomed in his hands and he lashed it out, the fireball streaking straight towards Jessica who leaped to one side with a terrified cry, the fire exploding into the grass. Jessica began to run away then, crying for help from Noel but... but a corridor was visible to one side for Noel, a corridor that lead back into Eric's mind and maybe towards his quarry... |

For a few seconds, Noel stared off towards the source of the sound, feeling a little bit on edge, simply because he had no idea who was coming. Eric's mind was like a minefield, in which Noel had no idea when he was going to encounter something that he'd not be able to handle. So far, he'd managed to make his way in between these mines quite well, but he was well aware that things could quickly turn nasty around here. Underestimating human minds, especially one that was as awry as Eric's, was something Noel had learned over the years wasn't the best idea. It was instead better to expect the unexpected, if anything because it meant it'd surprise him less when it happened, and perhaps make it easier for him to react because of the lack of element of surprise. Though, he knew that this probably only worked for less complex and sophisticated minds than Eric's was, though that didn't mean it didn't make it at least a little easier for him here. If anything, the experience he had from the previous two mind readings that he'd done, was at least a little bit helpful. The only thing that really scared him though, was that Eric's mind would begin to adapt to his presence here and do everything in its power to get rid of him. Theodore had already given him the vibe that seemed like he wasn't welcome in here, even if he hadn't actually said it or even done something as attacked him. Speaking of surprise, it did cross Noel's face when he saw the familiar girl skipping towards him. Much like himself, she seemed surprised to see him as well, greeting him kindly and asking him what he was up to here. Noel couldn't help not to smile a little; she was such a kind young girl, and even though the situation here was serious, she somehow managed to light it up for him. There was something special about her, a warm and kind energy that she seemed to exert, and that was how Noel knew why Eric liked her so much. She was a good influence on him, that shining light in his otherwise dark life, the little beacon that could make him happy. It pained Noel to know that she was gone. "Jessica..! What are you doing around here?" he asked, then glanced up from her and around, as if he was afraid that someone or something might've been around. "I don't think this place is really safe for you to pl-.." he started to say, and just about then, another voice reached them. Glancing across the park in the direction of the voice, Noel spotted a bald man that he'd never seen before. The way he was calling out to Jessica, didn't seem friendly. "Jessica, we need to get out of here.." the boy started to say, when he observed the man approaching, and his eyes widened when he saw that the bald man wasn't going to just yell out to her, but actually attack her. The fireball went for Jessica, and Noel would've intercepted it, if the girl hadn't managed to jump out of its way on her own. Still, as the shriek rang in his head, the boy realized that she wouldn't be able to defend from the man for too long. His eyes quickly darted for the corridor that would lead him out and away from this place, a corridor he'd need to take if he was going to learn more about Eric himself. But just a moment later, he already rushed away from it in the opposite direction, where Jessica was, catching up with her and making sure she was running in front of him, so that the man's attacks would first get to him, than her. He was ready to conjure up some Rejection Shields, if the need was. Buster was there as well to eat up the fireballs, if Noel didn't manage to fend them off. "Hurry, Jessica! Let's get out of here!" It wasn't even a decision. Even if the other path would've led him to what he was pursuing in order to learn about Eric, he couldn't leave Jessica alone. He'd protect her, no matter what. |

[[OOC: Dem delays. It's cool though, Masters degrees are a pain I know first-hand]] It was so gracious of Noel to save Jessica as he did, so very nice of him to move to save her but... well, let's just say there were some things that were inevitable in life. And death. The mage chasing them didn't say another word as they ran off, simply stared them down as they ran from him. He didn't even bother casting another fireball, his eyes didn't even blink. It was like he was an automaton with one purpose - to capture (or kill) Jessica. And in some ways he was, he was a projection in this mind of Eric's, a projection of something Eric had never seen but had long thought about, long wondered about and considered. How had Jessica died? He had only recieved the word third hand, not even from anyone he knew but from a note left for him at the Guild of Fairy Tail. Sure, several of their members had vanished (along with members of other Guilds) but nobody had ever seen their bodies and the one person who returned had long since vanished... But these were not thoughts Noel would be priveliged to -yet- and especially not in the immediate future as Jessica stopped running all of a sudden, her eyes wide and a knife having blossomed in her chest. Ahead of them stood the bald man, the one who had been running after them a moment ago, his arm still moving as though he had thrown a knife. And then they vanished. Both Jessica and the man vanished from sight and existence, their presences nothing. No blood remained from Jessica being stabbed, nothing... except for footsteps that sounded back where Noel had been before. Footsteps that turned into a small blonde girl with a bright smile and emerald eyes who opened her mouth to call out to Noel. Until the fireball she had avoided before hit her, engulfed her in flames and she was reduced to ash in moments - not even enough time to scream out in pain. "Ssssad, issssn't it?" a voice hissed out from near Noel as the scene played out before him, much faster this time and a little differently, before the footsteps started again and Jessica reappeared, "He playssss out her death in hissss head consssstantly. It'ssss a ssssign of hissss hatred of hopelesssssnesssss; he hassss no idea what really happened to her sssso he consssstantly dreamssss up sssscenariossss." At Noel's feet lay a coiled black snake, a three metre long black mamba who watched the scene play out again -this time she was entombed in earth and crushed by the same bald mage- before looking up at Noel calmly. "Come on," she hissed sadly, turning on the spot and starting to slither off down the hall back the way Noel had come, "I sssshall sssshow you the way onwardssss. I am ssssure you are ssssick of being here - it issss too depressssssing right now." Jessica ignored all questions and did not bother to look back as she slithered off but she took a turn that had not been there before -had it? This place was constantly changing so it might have been?- and then she turned again, this time a clear downwards slope leading into a staircase that she took by... levitating and just slithering through the air. Damn, a snake going down steps was always hilarious. *A-hem* anyway: She slithered through the air and as they reached the foot of the stairs the area was a large open room, maybe a few hundred metres in every direction and almost all black except for a single spotlit area in the exact center. Eric hung in the air in that spotlight, his arms extended and chained to long black chains that extended to the walls on either side hundreds of metres away and his legs and chest were chained to the floor and ceiling respectively, suspending him in mid air. He simply hung there, head down and eyes closed, hair falling over his face a little. He didn't move, wouldn't respond to being called to from the stairs and Jessica just stopped moving - not entering the room. "There," she said simply, "Here issss hissss center." And she fell silent. |

OoC It truly was sad, seeing the poor girl die in so many ways, right there, before his eyes, without him being able to do anything about it. He'd hoped that he could have some influence on Eric from the inside, to perhaps avert his sad and melancholic memories away from his consciousness, to stop them from appearing in his mind and troubling him by somehow affecting them. But no matter how much he tried to save her, no matter what all he did to stop it, the scenario would simply repeat itself under different circumstances, painting yet another horrible death that Eric's mind created for her. He could feel his pain in every one of them, and yet it was hard to truly understand just how troubled the boy must have been feeling up to this day, with his sub-consciousness constantly reminding him of her loss, of what could've been if that hadn't happened.. Was he blaming himself for it? That would only make things worse, but what he was seeing here was filling Noel with concern for the boy. "It wasn't his fault that it happened.." the young Mind mage murmured, more to himself, than to the black mamba, though he did follow her now. He couldn't see yet another death that Eric's mind would play out for his beloved friend. All of these memories, scenes and situations were making him wish there was something he could do. He'd always wanted to help Eric, to show him the way out towards the light, but so far, he wasn't doing much of that here. "You aren't here to change him this time, though," he reminded himself in his thoughts, as he began to walk down the stairs, keeping his eyes on the snake just so that he wouldn't lose sight of her, "You're here to understand him a bit better. That's the first step before anything can be done. You need to understand, before you can actually help out. And -he- needs to understand it, too." It was true - some of these deep memories, for Noel wasn't venturing the surface parts of the mind anymore, were already delving into the part of sub-consciousness, one that was present and had an effect on the young black-haired boy, yet he didn't quite know about it. Lots of the things Noel had seen here, had actually happened, without Eric remembering them. After he came out of his mind, he'd be able to tell them to the boy, and then Eric himself would be able to understand himself a bit better, too. That was, if Noel made it out of here alive. The long walk down the stairs was making the boy feel a bit apprehensive. He kept his eyes sharpened to try and see what was down the end of the long staircase, but it wouldn't be until they reached the bottom of it, that he'd get to see where they were. A long and wide room, reaching out as far as the eye could see. It was completely dark, preventing him from seeing where the walls were, and just how far the room reached. Total darkness, except for one spot in the middle of the room, where a body was hanging by the thick chains, keeping it there motionless. Noel didn't yell out to him when he saw him hanging like that, looking to be on the verge of unconsciousness, if he wasn't passed out already. He didn't run up to him right away, nor did he send Buster forth to quickly check on his life signs. Instead, he took in a quiet breath, feeling as though a cold hand had wrapped around his heart, his eyes focused on his best friend, right there, in the room. "Eric.." he finally whispered. He was standing at the bottom of the stairs, and he hesitated for a moment. Not because he was afraid of anything lunging at him from the darkness if he was to approach him, he wasn't scared of any triggers that would happen if he was to set his foot into the room. After all, he'd noticed Jessica carefully stopping before the room itself. No, the reason why he hesitated, was he, himself. The exact reason why that pain around his heart had started. Was he even worth coming here, this far, into the deepest parts of Eric's mind..? After everything he'd done, after having pushed his friend away like that, when he'd needed him the most? Wasn't he responsible even a little bit for the boy to plunge even deeper into the darkness than he already had? Wasn't he the one that turned his back to him, instead of showing him the path towards the light, like he'd always promised he would? And yet, despite all that, the boy trusted him. He placed his mind, himself in the Mind mage's hands and he had faith and trust in him that he could help him. He believed in him. And that was the reason that formed Noel's resolve then, just the feelings he needed to feel in his heart to drive that cold away, and to decide on it. "I'm going there, Jessica," he quietly whispered. And so he did. Without any further ado, he started walking through the darkened room, keeping his eyes always on Eric, and Eric alone. His footsteps would echo from the floor he was walking on; something that would likely be heard in the room, but the boy didn't think about that. His mind and eyes were set on Eric, and he would walk towards him until he'd get to stop in front of him, with the boy hanging in the air slightly above him, suspended by the chains. And then, he'd look at his face. Edited by Noel, May 17 2014, 02:05 PM.

[[OOC: Many apologies for the lateness.]] The only sounds as Noel walked into the room were those of his footsteps echoing around the enormous chamber. Jessica never spoke, in fact she had already departed from this place, returning to the corridors of Eric's mind to resume her patrol once more for some of the more... foreign... entities that found themselves in those halls from time to time. Entities that belonged in certain parts of his mind and no others, entities that had sections and were not supposed to leave. They tried of course, but that was why she was there - to guard and patrol. None of this was relevant in the short term however, in the time that Noel now had as he crossed the floor to the suspended and chained Eric. The boy did not stir as his ally approached, did not make a single movement as his name was whispered and echoed throughout the room. He was simply hanging there as Noel approached and his head lay hanging there, his closed eyes facing the floor and his face expressionless, although his mouth was a little bit open as though he had been gasping or wheezing recently. Mouth agape, face down, eyes closed... these were not things in a group that Eric would have otherwise let himself be at a natural repose without some reason, not without a significance behind it. Without warning the boy started to move, the muscles in his shoulders and back tensing as he tried to move his left and right arms inwards, strained with all of his might to pull the chains from the walls far away. His head lifted and his face was scrunched in effort, his eyes tightly sealed shut and his mouth clenched, the strain of it all causing a vein to appear on his neck and strain, strain like Eric had not had to do so to escape something beyond his physical strength in a very long time. He tried for perhaps thirty seconds before he gave up, before his muscles relaxed and his head fell again, the panting quite audible this time as he tried to regain his breath and composure. It was some time before he finally raised his head to see Noel, his eyes out of focus at first and not seeing the boy before him in any real capacity. They were bloodshot and the iris' themselves were the same bright red they changed into when Eric was using his magic, but no power of his own was evident here - none of his spells were active and he simply seemed exhausted beyond a point any person should be able to reach. But then his eyes focused on Noel and his expression changed from one of exhaustion... to one of exhaustion marred with surprise. Hey, you don't just get less tired because you got a shock! "N... Noel?" he wheezed in a tired voice, his voice breathy and a little broken as he stared up at his friend... his best friend, "W-what are you d-d-doing here?" Hearing the normally assured and confident Eric with a voice that belonged on the most broken of people was no doubt strange to Noel, but what's more the boy tried again to free himself, this time not scrunching his eyes shut as he pulled his arms -or tried to- and kept his bloodshot red gaze firmly on Noel. He fell back to homeostasis a moment later however, his head falling once more before he inhaled deeply and looked up once more, the effort it took him to raise his head evident. "How did you find me?" |

OoC: Likewise. Noel hadn't moved until Eric did, just watching him all that time in his quiet state, his eyes turned up at the boy with that bit of sadness and discomfort in his gaze, as if he was blaming himself for his best being there, the way he was. Trapped by his own mind, haunted by the memories of the past, the people that had influenced him greatly in his life and showed him the path towards the darkness. Was there anything the young Mind mage could possibly to do avert him from that path..? He'd tried so hard, he was still trying, but even so, his attempts seemed to help only little by little. It was a good thing he was as persistent as he was, not giving up on his attempts and continuing to pursue that goal of one day clearing the boy's darkness from his heart and showing him how beautiful the world could be without it. Much like Jessica had, once long ago, but she was gone now, and that realization was still painfully present in his mind, most probably working against him even wanting to see the light again. After all, it must've felt like none of it mattered; she couldn't be brought back, and that was it. Not even Noel could do anything about that. And then, those eyes flickered open, trying to focus on what was ahead of them, and yet it took them a while before they set themselves on the figure in front of them. Noel had been quiet all this time, just staring up at him, in order to meet his gaze, when his tired, very tired eyes finally stopped on his. He could sense a shred of surprise behind them, but that tiredness was so strong, charred with pain, most probably caused by the shackles holding him suspended up in the air in front of him, as well as the time that had taken its toll as well. He must've been there for a while already. "Eric.." Noel whispered again, quietly. His friend's voice was different, broken. He'd not heard it being like that, ever before. Was that Eric..? He was always so confident, so certain, so.. determined. But here and now, he looked vulnerable, quiet, almost.. scared. The stuttering seemed so unnatural for him, that it made Noel gulp as he stared up at him, and he found himself fighting the urge to jump forwards and destroy those chains, to free him from his shackles, so he could hug him, and tell him that everything was alright, so he could tend his wounds.. "We need to get him down from there," Buster's voice spoke into Noel's ear; it wasn't often for the owl to be this vocal, especially when it came to other people. Generally, he wouldn't care about them, he'd find them annoying, and a nuisance. He even found Noel that. The mind mage knew Buster liked Eric, but he wouldn't have thought the owl would have a difficulty seeing him in so much pain in front of them and not doing anything about it. Even though they both knew it wasn't happening for real, but was instead a projection of the boy's mind. "Wait.." Noel murmured, gulping again. It was indeed difficult not to go to the rescue straight away. Buster's coercion had made that even more so difficult than it already had been. But the boy knew that he had to hold himself back, at least for a little bit. Neither of them knew what would happen if those chains were just carelessly broken; they didn't understand this place yet, they didn't know what was going on. And he knew they couldn't act carelessly, they needed to understand, so that they could help him. "Eric, we.. Jessica showed us the way here.." he replied to his question, his voice shaking a bit. He made a small step forward then, so that he was standing in front of the boy. He looked up at him, hanging in the air slightly above him. Reaching up, he placed his hand under the boy's chin. "Eric.. Why are you here..? What is this place?" he asked, his eyes focused on the boy's as if he was hoping that his gaze could keep Eric focused enough not to pass out. He already seemed like he was struggling really hard to stay awake. He was weak there, Noel could see it. "How did you.. get here..? Who.. who did this to you..?" |

Eric simply let himself hang there -not that there was really much else he could do- whilst Noel told him of how he had arrived in that area and he smiled slightly, a very pained smile no doubt from the exhaustion he was feeling, when the older boy mentioned Jessica. Why he was smiling was not evident at first, especially since his face tensed up again and his shoulder muscles strained as he tried once more in vain to escape from his shackles. As with before however he fell back, his chains loosening slightly but keeping him suspended in the air, his usually powerful body weak and frail. "Haha, of course she did." he said with a cough afterwards, a body wracking cough that caused a little bit of blood to escape from his lips, marring his skin and hanging there almost mockingly so, "Tell a woman to do one thing and of course she does the other. Even snakes aren't immune to that rule." When Noel put his hand under Eric's chin the boy raised his eyes up to meet his friends gaze, the eyes bloodshot but awake despite the massive pain he was subjecting himself to at trying to get free from such a complete hold. "I have no idea how I got here," he tried to shrug but the movement was clearly beyond his current ability in terms of movement, "But I'm the one keeping myself here I think, or at least it feels like my own energy holding me in place." He looked from one arm to the other, his arms tensing and pulling ever-so-slightly making the chains ripple and rattle into the darkness beyond, but they barely moved more than a centimeter or so as he pulled. "I think... No, I don't think I can let myself loose." Sitting in Noel's living room with the catatonic Light Mage by his side Eric was just now starting to get a little antsy. He had finished the book he had brought with him and Jess was asleep in a sunbeam leaving Eric alone with nothing really to do. "Ararara~" he sighed to himself, stretching his little body hard, his joints cracking a little from the tensing of his limbs, "I should have thought this through a little more, it doesn't usually take so long does it?" Looking around he felt like he should do something physical to keep himself awake and interested but the problem was Noel's house was so... ordered. His own was quite ordered as well which was fine but if he was going to be exercising to keep himself up he'd need a larger space. The bigger problem here was that Eric had no idea how far from Noel he was allowed to go before the connection was broken, and even more than that he wasn't sure what would happen to Noel -heck, what would happen to himself- if the connection was broken like that. In all likelihood he would be fine, Noel might even have an infinite range but how the hell was Eric supposed to know that right here and now? "I probably should have asked that before he went under." he said wryly to himself and so he simply decided to do the easy thing and pick up his friend's body and take him somewhere else. Simply to the backyard would do fine, Eric propping his friend up easily in a seated position against his door, nodding to himself when it was done. Turning he launched himself into martial arts, the repetition and mindlessness occupying his conscious mind immediately with peace. "I've been here as long as I can remember," he said slowly, his face scrunched up as he thought back through it all and tried to remember when it was that he had appeared here, "I just sort of... woke up here once and never came down I guess? I've always been here and I guess it's just a part of me here, I even remember you coming into my mind the last two times. I can see all of it from here you know, I just can't move." A screen appeared nearby that showed the scene that had played out between Noel and Theodore in Eric's old house. A second one opened up that showed the talk Noel had had with Evelyn the last time he was here, and a third one showed the horrors Noel had seen on his first visit. "I guess... I'm just kind of trapped here, in the middle of my mind, like an overseer or something? It hurts a lot but I'm kind of used to it." |

Noel could see how much Eric was straining himself to even speak. Every word that came out of his mouth seemed like it required him a great deal of strength and willpower to utter, and more than just once while he spoke, Noel found himself getting the urge to stop him, just so that he wouldn't hurt himself even more so than he already was. He seemed like he needed to rest, and even more so than that, he needed to have his wounds healed. The way he was like now, it almost looked like he wouldn't be able to handle it for much longer. If anything, he was on the verge of passing out, though that was probably the smallest of the concerns; what if he was gravely injured? Those chains seemed like they were almost sapping his life force out of him, but at the same time, it was kind of like they were connected to him in a way. As if he couldn't do without them. Was it even wise to free him out of his chainy prison? He'd said himself that it was probably not a good idea for him to go loose. Wasn't there a reason why he was here, suspended in the air without being able to move or do anything other than just exist? Was there a chance he was necessary for the sustainability of this mind, and yet he wasn't allowed to be let free, because someone or something wouldn't approve of what he'd do in here, if he had the chance? Then again.. who or what had put him here was a really important part of the equation. The reasons behind it were rather important and without knowing them, Noel didn't really know what to do. He wanted to help Eric, obviously, but at this point, he didn't know if it was a good idea to get him down from there. Even Eric himself seemed to think so. "I'd like to.. help you, Eric," Noel said, "But I don't think I can do so by getting you down from here. Or, that might actually be what I'm supposed to do, but I don't know that yet. I need to find out what I have to do, so that I can help you, okay?" he spoke after a while. Buster remained quiet, just listening to his words. "I don't think anything bad will happen to you here if you remain here for a little while longer, until I can come back. I need to figure out what all of this is about, and when I do, I'll do what I'm supposed to." He made a step closer towards the boy, so that he was looking up at his face. "Please, just trust me. I'll do everything in my power to save you, you know that." He reached out and placed his hand on the boy's cheek, and then he smiled softly. It pained him so much to see Eric like this, but he knew that it couldn't be helped. The mind was a cruel place, and the fact that he was seeing things such as this inside, just showed that something really needed to be done about it. Glancing sideways to the screens that popped up, showing that the boy actually knew about everything that had happened through the last few times that he was here, Noel removed his hand from Eric's face and then nodded as he slowly walked past him. "I will be back," he said again, and then he made his way past the boy and the chains, forwards. The entrance that he'd come from behind him would soon disappear as he would begin to walk deeper into the darkness, to uncover what else the large hall was hiding..
