No questions came, so the colours shifted...

It was a room, a small room maybe the size of the living room in a run-down one-room apartment (about 3m wide x 4m long x 2.5m high) with a completely white floor and roof and black walls. Suspended in the center of the room, suspended by thick black chains that came from the roof and walls and floor was a small black orb, maybe the size of a baseball. The walls and chains were black, black as night, but the orb was somehow blacker, darker even, almost like the rest of the black around it was light in comparison to how dark it was. It drank in the light around it and got blacker but the room itself did not change and the orb didn't darken but it seemed to. It was featureless at first but slowly it began to rotate until whiteness was visible, whiteness and red. It was no orb, it was an eye, and it stared at Noel and Buster for a long moment before black lids closed down on it, it blinked.

And the scene vanished. They were back in the colours, Theodore standing before them, facing away and he simply... rippled, and the colours shifted again.
This time Noel and Buster were standing outside a prison cell, a dank and grimy place with grey tones dominating the lighting. The cell was divided into two, a wall between the two sides and an Eric on both sides. On one side was a small boy with brown hair and blue eyes, the boy that Noel had seen before when Theodore had shifted the room earlier and nearly tried to hit with another black orb. The other side of the cell was the Eric that Noel knew now, a black haired boy with bright red eyes, magic flaring on his left arm and trying to break through the cell around him. Neither of them paid any attention to Noel, neither of them cared about his presence at first, until they turned and stared at him at the same time... and somehow the other Eric, the wrong Eric would elicit a higher feeling of terror...

This time the scene vanished and Noel was on a street, a street he would know well. It was the main street of Magnolia, people milling around him and three familiar faces in the crowd - though all in the distance. From behind Noel on the left side of the street and behind him was Evelyn, Eric's mother, approaching him with a determined expression. On the right side of the street and opposite his wife was Theodore, also staring at Noel and approaching with his dead-eyed gaze locked on.
And in the distance ahead was Eric, walking away, slipping through the crowd and trying to get... somewhere.

The shifting colors almost hurt, so the boy had to close his eyes for the time being in order to wait for them to once again blend into the new scene that Theodore had to show to him and Buster. Fluttering his eyes open, Noel could see that he was now standing in a small room, the colors of which were more than peculiar. Completely white ceiling and floor, and yet the walls were pitch black. But even more so black than the walls, was an orb of pure blackness, chained and held in place by large, black chains. What that.. Hakore..?" Noel murmured to himself, frowning a little bit as he watched the pulsing orb. It was hard to tell whether he was right, but one thing was for certain: this thing had to be evil. That was why Noel wouldn't make even a single step towards it, not until it began to rotate and show its white side. And then the redness. And then, when it blinked, Noel made a step backwards from it, his eyes wide. It wasn't just an orb, it was actually an eye. And it almost seemed like it was watching Eric's every movement, every thought that passed through here, his mind.

Luckily, he didn't have to remain in the close vicinity of the creepy eye for too long because the scene faded away and a new one emerged. This time, it seemed like a prison, in which Noel was standing on one side of the bars, from which he'd be able to see into two cells. Or actually, it was just one cell, divided into two, and each part had one Eric in it. One of them was the brown-haired young boy that he had seen in the memories, and the other one was.. the Eric he knew. It didn't seem like they could see him, even though he was standing right there. And then, all of a sudden, both of them would look at him, and the young Mind mage would be able to get mixed feelings from them. The strongest ones were coming from the Eric he knew though, the feelings of terror, almost like.. he was caught in this trap and couldn't get out. He had to help him..! The being, known as Hakore, was his warden, and this was his prison, the prison that his father himself had put him into. Was that was Theodore was wanting to show him..? But.. why..?

Before he'd be able to do anything though, the scene shifted once again, and this time Noel had found himself on the always busy street of Magnolia. Glancing around himself, he was trying to figure out if he could see anyone or anything he knew, and that was when he noticed Eric making his way through the crowd, away from him. "Eric..!" he called out, but it didn't seem like the little boy could hear him. Noel began to push his way through the crowd, and as he did, he was suddenly able to notice out of the corner of his eyes two approaching figures. Evelyn.. and Theodore.. Both of them with stern expressions on their faces, both of them going after Eric, just like Noel. No, he needed to get to him before either of them. He needed to protect him, he needed to make sure he was fine. "Eric!!" he yelled louder this time, using his elbows to push the people aside in order to make enough room for himself to make his way forth through the crowd. Eric had the advantage of being smaller and could make his way through easier, while Noel had to put more effort into trying to follow. But he wanted to get to him, he needed to before either of his parents did..

Eric ran.

It was not a supremely fast run it was more of one of desperation, one that the boy wanted to get away from something but he didn't want to as well and he wasn't sure which of the two things was driving his actions more intensely. He didn't look back but he was running away; he knew he was being followed and he didn't know why, and he had to get away from the people following him and hide and never be found. This was a new thing for him, he was not used to having to run from people he was being chased by and he didn't even know why he was - he just knew he had to and that was that!

Theodore reached Noel first.

It was odd, he reached Noel and he was staring right at him but when he got close enough to touch him he... well, he walked through him as though Noel was made of mist. This was a strange thing, Noel was just as capable of touching anyone else here but Theodore moved through his body somehow, when he did it would send a feeling through Noel as though he had just walked into a cloud of mist. Theodore turned when that happened, his eyes wide and his expression surprised but he shook his head and walked on, pushing through the other people as he walked onwards, a sword hilt appearing in his hand as he walked on. A hilt with no blade...

And then Evelyn reached Noel.

Unlike her husband the woman didn't not move through Noel, she simply reached up and grabbed his shoulder in a grip like iron, a grip Noel could not move from if he tried his physical hardest. No, she simply stood and stared at him, holding his shoulder and, when he looked her in the eyes, she simply nodded to Noel, then nodded her head at the buildings behind him. She would repeat this until Noel would look, and when he did...
All of the buildings were black.
Not just painted black but entirely black, there were no features they were just black as though covered by something... something with large red eyes that opened all over the buildings, eyes that stared at Noel...

And it would be then that he would notice that Evelyn was gone and Theodore was getting further away... and so was Eric.

Noel was still doing his best to keep following Eric through the crowd, pushing them aside as he saw fit, and trying to make his way through it in order to get to the younger boy. Still, it felt like his speed wasn't helping him too much. Eric, being younger and smaller, was able to push his way in between the people much easier and was slowly, but surely starting to slip out of Noel's reach. The young Mind mage, realizing that, clenched his teeth together as he tried to make an even bigger effort in following him. He almost felt powerless - it was a feeling that a Mind mage would often have in other's mind, especially one as filled with memories and emotions as Eric's was, not to mention the boy's imagination that increased the factor up tenfold - but that wasn't going to stop him from trying even more so. After all, he was here for him, to protect him and to find out about the things that the boy's mind was trying to show him, and giving up wasn't an option. No, he had to keep pressing forth, even if it seemed like it was futile. Still, Noel knew that it wasn't. It was never futile, there was always a chance.

Then, Theodore reached him. Noel felt a weird sensation, when he felt the man walking right through him and then kept moving forth, in the direction of the already disappearing Eric. No, he couldn't let him get there first. The boy pushed some people aside in order to make his way forth, and at the same time, he'd murmur to Buster: "You'll be faster than me by air, try to reach Eric first." The snow-white bird didn't comment, but instead took off Noel's shoulder and flew up into the air, then soared above the heads of the people on the street, definitely making a better progress than Noel was down there. Perhaps if Noel himself couldn't reach Eric first, Buster would be able to. That didn't mean Noel would stop running after him, though. He kept pushing his way forth, but that was when Evelyn reached him as well, except she didn't go through him like Theodore had, but instead grabbed his shoulder, so hard that she made the boy wince. It wasn't a pleasant grip, and he'd realize that it was one he couldn't get out of no matter how hard he tried.

And after he'd stopped struggling and looked up at her, he would be able to follow her gaze until he looked back and saw.. the darkness creeping across the walls of the houses behind them, opening up slowly to reveal large, red eyes. Hakore... Was that what Eric was running from? Was that why Theodore was going after him, to stop him? But what was Evelyn's role in the whole process? Whatever it was, Noel assumed he'd figure it out a bit later - because right now, he needed to get away from it. The darkness and the horrible eyes were enough of a reason why he'd want to keep moving forth, even if he wasn't already pursuing Eric and the two followers as it was. And so, after having been released by Evelyn, he dashed forth once again, pushing people away with more vigor now and all the time making sure that Eric didn't disappear from his gaze, no matter how far he'd gotten by then..

[[OOC: Apologies]]

As the darkness followed up behind Noel it began to move from the buildings and to the crowd - the people caught up in it almost seemed to drown in the darkness that grabbed them, wrapping them up and then moving onwards as they were consumed by it, their forms sinking into the black-and-red-eyed depths and never rising again. Noel thankfully had begun to move faster, he had rushed ahead to follow after Eric who was running now, though whether from his father, from his mother, from the blackness or from Noel himself was unclear. It would become clear soon though, as Noel moved Evelyn would vanish; there was no sign of her any more and only Theodore would be there ahead of him, the blade-less hilt in his hand and his eyes following his sons progression. And Eric kept running, so it was not his mother.

As Buster flew overhead he would see that Theodore -who would slip from Noel's gaze at the same time- vanished as well, between one step and the next he was simply no longer, vanishing into nothingness. He didn't get consumed by the encroaching blackness, he wasn't swallowed up by any power or anything at all, he simply vanished in a heartbeat
But still Eric ran, so it was not from his father that he fled.
Sooner rather than later the crowd thinned out and Noel would see Eric was running into a dead-end, a large area that was surrounded on all sides by buildings. He spun as Noel would follow him into the dead-end, his eyes wide and shining red, though his expression was one of terror and confusion.

"Noel! No, what are you doing here I wanted my da-" he broke off and looked around and Noel may then realise that the dead-end behind him was now also blocked off by builds, but the buildings all around the pair of them were pitch black with large red eyes staring at himself and Eric from all angles, "Oh god, I'm sorry Noel I didn't think it was you, I thought it was him, I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!"
As Eric screamed that the blackness flooded in, rushed inwards and hit the ground with a splash like liquid. It moved onwards and hit Noel's feet and began to move up his body before he could resist, the blackness covering him. It would feel just like he was submerged in water, it was hard to move his arms though for the blackness was thick and heavy like tar as well, weighing down. And Eric... well, he had not been captured like Noel, he was not being swallowed up by it he was just staring, his face expressionless.

And then as the blackness covered Noel all he would see were two red eyes, staring into his own.

When the light would return Noel would find he was in the living room of Eric's old house, Buster on his shoulder and looking ruffled -he too had been caught by the darkness of Eric's inner self- and Theodore sitting opposite them, sipping a cup of tea.
"My son is constantly at war with himself," Theodore was saying calmly, "Everything he thinks he knows, all of the power he has for himself is borrowed, gained only from the being inside himself. If they were at one he would be so much stronger, his powers would be unimagineable in so many ways and yet... yet he fights against it, considering himself seperate from the parasite he struggles against it and they fight... and his mind is their battleground. What can you do, Noel Aramis, to fight against Eric fighting himself? Why do you struggle to get to know him when he cannot even know himself being constantly in conflict?"

OoC: Likewise.. I apologize.

It was good that he seemed to be making more progress, pushing his way through the crowd. Still, as he averted his eyes back up ahead in search of Eric, he could see that he was still a long way from reaching him. Evelyn and Theodore were in front of him, and even Buster was making better progress by flying above the heads of the nameless people on the street. Noel kept running as fast as he could, mostly so that he would escape the dark blob behind him, but he was surprisingly not so afraid of what it would do to him, as he was afraid of what it would do to Eric if it reached him. It was true that this was only a mental projection and that the boy there, ahead of him, wasn't the real Eric, but Noel knew better than to assume that the actual Eric would be safe. He realized that by being inside of Eric's mind, he was not putting just himself in danger, but also the younger boy. The reason for that was the fact that an outside intruder, like he was, would almost always have an effect on the mind he was entering, and it was extremely hard to assure that the consequences wouldn't be harmful for any party involved.

Especially, when it came to a chaotic mind like Eric's.

Then, as he was following the duo of Eric's parents, Evelyn disappeared. Noel's eyes widened at the sight, and he quickly glanced around and through the crowd to see if she might've teleported or something similar like that. However, she was nowhere to be seen. Gone. "W-what..?" he let out in surprise, though he never stopped running. Then, another poof, and Theodore was gone, as well. "Both of them disappeared," he got Buster's message through Telepathy a moment later; most probably the bird had figured out Noel was wondering about where they went, and he told him through the mental connection, since he was up above the crowd and could tell and confirm for sure that this was what happened. Without replying anything in return, Noel kept running, seeing that Eric was still up ahead and running away. Perhaps he could still reach him, if only he ran a little bit faster.. Then, he could see Eric stop; there was no where he could run, because the walls of the buildings reaching up high into the air would prevent him from escaping anywhere. Noel saw him turn around in fear, and as he continued to run, he was getting closer and closer to him. "Eric..! Stay there, I'll save you!" he yelled.

Just a moment after he'd said that, he already felt something wrapping around his foot, preventing him from moving further, and almost making him fall over. "Ack..!" Looking down to see what it was, he gasped when he saw it was the black liquid that seemed to now be moving up his leg. "No..! Leave me alone! Geroff me!" he yelled, trying to push it down with his hands, but the moment he touched it, it would start to spread up his hands and across his arms towards his shoulders. "No..! I need to save Eric! Let go of me!" he yelled out, most of his torso already being covered by the black sludge by now, continuing to move up. He tried to move his body, but it was like he was locked in place, unable to make even the slightest move. "N-noo.. a-aaahhhhhh..!!" he cried out, the black sludge now covering his face, filling his mouth, running over his cheeks, nose, even eyes.. And then, everything turned to darkness, until those red eyes opened up and stared at him.

A moment later, he was back in the kitchen with Theodore sitting opposite of him behind the dining table. Noel's breathing was heavy and erratic, and his heart kept thumping against his chest hard, even as Theodore already spoke. Leaning back against the chair, Noel could feel cold sweat going down his spine, as he waited for Theodore to finish, before he could speak up. By then, he'd already calmed down a bit. "I don't yet know what I can do to help, which is why I'm here to learn about it and find a way. I'm positive that there is one, I just know it." He paused for a moment. "I do realize that Hakore is a part of him now (thanks to you), but what I'm trying to figure out is not necessarily to separate him from it. It seems like he's too connected, too intertwined with the being already, and his life could be put in danger if Hakore would all of a sudden be forcefully removed from his body." Again, there was a pause, as if he was thinking hard. "I.. can understand why Eric is fighting against it. You see, Hakore has changed him. And he's fighting against that. And that's what I'm trying to achieve here isn't getting Hakore out of him, but rather stopping it from making him into a murderous machine. Because that's not who truly is."

Smiling slightly as Noel shook himself out of his reverie Theodore had to admire the young man's persistence at his single-minded ideals and goals, though at the same time he did despair that for a mage who dealt solely with the mind he was very... singularly minded, so to speak. In his own heart Noel believed this "truth" about Eric, believed that the boy was evil insomuch as the parasite within him was evil and yet he would not accept the accounts from the boy himself or from anything else that the greatest power here was not the evil but the choice of it all; before the parasite had even had its greatest effects Eric had been unleashing his darkness, had been creating pure terror and blackness. And yet Noel persisted in his thoughts that it was all the corruption from within, that nothing Eric had done was his own choice and wants. It was almost insulting that Noel felt Eric was so wholly mindless...

But still, there was some admiration within Theodore he would admit and so he would help out this poor young boy a little, just a little bit, to show him how he could work at helping Eric. Of course, how this "help" would really take effect was the true question - Theodore had one goal and Noel obviously had another, not to mention the possible goals of the Hakore itself... and Eric too.
"Well, to be clear there are three paths you could take here to influence Eric in some way," Theodore said calmly, sipping his tea again before placing it down on the table and stapling his fingers, staring at Noel over them, "The first path, the one you will not take it seems, is to run. To leave Eric and never contact him again, to leave him alone with himself and his demons. Without your influence he will slip further, without that single anchor of light who knows where his darkness will go."

Theodore's tone was... mixed on this; he saw the potential use for it but he was also a father and, in some very tiny ways, he did care about his son's wellbeing.
"You could also kill him," he said in a non-chalant sort of way, "Or try to for his magic is far more destruction-oriented than your own; mind magic is powerful but you lack raw destructive abilities compared to him. But without his life here on Earthland there would be a modicum less darkness, at least until Hakore finds a new host. The third option is one of light, to influence him as much as you can, to try and pressure him to becoming as good as you believe he can be. With your influence more strongly in his life maybe he will change - maybe he will become more than he is now in terms of a man of light and harmony. It is unlikely, but you can always try."

Then he smiled, and his smile was... well, interesting.
"Or the fourth option, the one of the highest difficulty," there was a small pause here as Theodore held out a hand, palm upwards with a small glowing white orb appearing there, "You can accept my help, you can journey into Eric's heart and confront the being on his soul, the Beast of Nothingness. You can confront Hakore and see how this will end. It is your call, Noel Aramis, if you choose this path you must realise what exactly this will entail..."

The boy needed a couple of seconds to properly pull himself together after the bit of an unpleasant experience he'd gone through moments earlier, his head still spinning a little bit from the travel back to the kitchen. His breathing was slightly ragged, the consequence of those big, red eyes staring right into his soul moments before, and the feeling of the black blob travelling up his body without him being able to do anything about it. It had definitely not been the most comfortable feeling in the world, but at least he was safe for now, so he could calm down a bit. He needed to, he didn't want to give Theodore the satisfaction the man would probably feel upon seeing him so shaken up like that. Besides, he was here for a reason and he was prepared for things like that when he entered, so there was no need to get so caught up in it. Even though it was a bit difficult keeping his cool in a situation like that, he was not going to let it get to him. Not now that he was here to actually make some progress in Eric's mind, to find out more things and possibly help the boy out.

He still didn't know how he was going to achieve that. There was one thing knowing what he wanted to do, but another thing entirely to know how to do that. Minds were complex on their own, and just traversing them wasn't the easiest feat ever. That was why it would've been hard for Noel to plan ahead. He had to enter the mind first and then act accordingly to what happened inside.

Luckily, the options that he had were presented to him by Theodore, and even though not all of them were something Noel would actually do, or even consider doing, it was still good for him to be able to evaluate all of them at once. Of course, he didn't rule out the possibility for Theodore to keep some of the possible options away from him; after all, the two of them did have different goals, and because of that it was safe to assume that all the listed options were something that would in one way or the other benefit Theodore. Since his goals differed from Noel's, that also meant that there was a chance that going with one of the options he suggested would be walking right into his trap and doing what he wanted. Then again, going by that logic, just talking to Theodore here could be exactly something that the older male wanted - but did that mean that it would've been the least harmful for Eric if Noel never entered his mind..? Perhaps, but that would mean that he'd never truly be able to find out more about him and help him out in fighting his darkness. Being here, in his mind, was a risky business by itself - Noel was aware of that - but at the same time, it was the only way the Mind mage could help his best friend.

The only question was, which one of the options he was going to choose. The first one didn't really appeal to him. By running, he'd basically abandon Eric and consequently let the boy slip deeper into the darkness. He'd already done that once before, and it was something that he was never going to repeat again. The first time had already been harmful enough for Eric - he'd been alone for nearly six months, and if Noel had waited any longer, he would've probably lost him forever. Frankly, he felt that abandoning once again would have ruined him entirely.

The second option was even worse, making the boy frown as he stared across the table at the boy's father in silence. Killing was something Noel hated and despised with all of his heart. It was the sole reason why he'd abandoned Eric in the first place, thinking that it was something the boy liked and wanted to do, before he'd learned that none of this would've possibly happened had it not been for Hakore and the very man he was sitting across the table of right now. That he would steep down on the same level and resort to an inhumane act such as killing..? There was no chance.

The third one already sounded more appealing. It was essentially what Noel had been doing ever since him and Eric had started talking and hanging out again. Trying to bring more light and positive energy into his life, Noel had already been doing everything in his power to pull Eric out of the darkness. It was extremely difficult, he had to agree with Theodore there, and so far, he hadn't been too successful. That was exactly why he had Eric had decided for Noel to be let into his mind to find out more about his past and uncover some of the memories even Eric himself had forgotten, in hopes of making a bigger step forth than they were making in general.

That's why the fourth option appealed to him the most. "I don't care if it's going to be difficult or not, I want to try it," the Mind mage finally said after thinking about all the possible options. "But.. before I decide for that path.." he went on, a bit more carefully now, "I'd appreciate it if you could tell me what it entails. Like you said, it's something that I need to know."

Theodore inclined his head as Noel chose the only sensible option... or at least the only option that was sensible for someone like Noel was. It was amusing to him how easy the people of this time were to manipulate -mostly- for even the mages who dwelled in the Mind and understood how people thought were so easy to bring around to your own way of thinking. Of course there were other ways, there were many other pathways Noel could have taken including getting up and walking out of this house here and now and tried to move around on his own. That may have proved more effective in some ways and less in others. He could have even left Eric's mind and re-entered and tried to enter the other half of his soul, the half that was infinitely changing and growing around the light. But Noel did not think of this; he considered those paths to be cut off and almost rightly so, but for Noel? Theodore believed Eric may open the path if he was convinced.

Of course in the here and now Noel had accepted Theodore's help and his agenda was one step closer, just as Noel's was. He had asked for information however and information was easy enough to provide, so Theodore let the small orb float upwards into the air between them, before clicking so it expanded into a large view screen above their heads. Theodore had no need to look up, he knew what it contained, and if Noel were to watch it the older man would simply study him... and Buster. Buster was more important than they realised.
"Eric's mind, as you are probably aware by now, is seperated into sections," Theodore said easily, the screen showing the way in and the division of two halves of Eric's head, "And each of those sections have their own sub-sections, further differences hidden throughout. You have experienced about half of Eric's mind in an overall sense so far but you have missed so many small things, so many doors that lead to hidden treasures."

The screen shifted here to show the corridors that Noel had encountered the first time he had entered Eric's mind, the corridors that he had followed through Eric's head. This time however it cut across a path Noel had not taken -if he remembered- that went to another door, a small red door that opened into a large hallway, ornate and intricate with portraits on either side of the room, portraits of men and women, old and young, of all races and creeds. Some of the portraits Noel may have recognised as men and women from his Guild who had passed away, most under mysterious circumstances. But the vast majority were unknowns or... Boscans?
"You may be right about the hidden goodness within my son," Theodore consented, "For this is a hall of memory, a place wherein he remembers everyone who has ever died by his hand or his machinations. He is a sentimental one in some ways, but it is what lies at the end of here that is most important."

The scene shifted, the camera moving down to the end of the corridor where a statue was shown, a statue of a faceless humanoid with too many fingers and no facial features made of a strange black stone.
"This is the heart of Eric's powers," Theodore said sitting forward, steepling his fingers to look at Noel, "In order to help my son in the way you so wish you must destroy that statue, the statue of his powers in the hallway of his victims. It is a representation of his own innocence corrupted, with that statue destroyed there will be a lessened impact of Hakore within Eric; his powers will wane somewhat but he will lose some of his darker edges. All you must do is take this," he raised the orb on his hand, "And place it into the statue to destroy it. You can try other methods if you so choose but they will be less effective I believe."

Waving his hand a doorway appeared, a red door frame that showed a pathway through into the white corridors Noel had once trudged through on his first entry into Eric's mind, though not directly at the door of Eric's rememberances as may have been expected.
"There are many hidden things in this place," Theodore said as the screen faded away, "If you can find them is up to you. And of course it is up to you if you wish to try..."

Maybe he'd been manipulated into doing that; maybe he'd wanted to do it in the first place, and it was just Theodore thinking that he'd gotten Noel to do what he wanted him to do. Even though he was a powerful entity here in Eric's mind, there was one thing that he had no access to in here, and that was the mind of the boy who entered this place. That calmed Noel down a little bit, knowing it was the only thing he could truly depend on, something that was his and only his, and could not be outright affected by any entity outside those that were in his own mind. Funny thing, how he was trying to find a way to enter his own mind at some point to find out about his past and the reason why he couldn't remember anything prior to when he turned fifteen, but had been so far rather unsuccessful doing so. This didn't matter at this point in time though, he was in Eric's mind now, and his mission was to find out anything that could possibly help him understand his best friend a bit more and help him in any way he possibly could.

It was good though, that he got the chance to learn about it some more before he ventured any further. Theodore summoned up a screen that would show him parts of Eric's mind, while his father explained what was being projected onto the screen. The part about the mind being split into several compartments was something that he already knew, though it was informative to find out that he'd managed to see about half of his mind so far. Considering how much time he'd spent here already and the fact that this was the third time he was entering the boy's mind, that information proved how vast minds could be, and that it wasn't as easy getting to know every part of one person, even if others might think that Mind mages had it easy like that. Besides, all of this was just the surface; Theodore mentioned something which Noel also knew - there were a lot of small passageways, hidden tunnels and rooms and other places within the mind that he'd not visited. Of course, it wasn't the point to visit every room in his mind, because that would probably take extensive studying of his mind that would have to be done several times, and they were limited in time here. That was why he had to be selective with what he decided to see.

Noel watched the screen shift and show him the way into a hallway, filled with pictures and paintings of people, and even before Theodore told him who they were, he shuddered. That was something to be expected, though; even the darkest and cruelest murderers still remembered their victims even if they claimed they didn't (a mind never lies), and Noel was sure that a place of such memories had to exist within Eric's mind, too. After all, he saw him as a good person, someone that had been forced into this.. state, by none other than his father, and possibly Evelyn too, but mostly his father that was the reason why Hakore found its home within the boy's body. Perhaps his certainty of Eric's innocence in this state would be further confirmed if he saw.. his remorse and regret for killing the ones that he did..? It was true none of it could've been felt while he was performing the act, taken over by the bloodthirsty instincts of the magic that he used, but.. perhaps he thought about these victims and their deaths afterwards? Why else would they be here, in his mind..?

Either way, confronting Hakore seemed to be what he had to do right now, no matter what. Even if it was deadly dangerous - which it probably was - it was something that Noel owed Eric for having doubted him and abandoned him in times of need, when he should've stood by his side and supported him, rather than let him slip further into the darkness. Standing up from the chair he'd been sitting on, Noel never finished the drink that was placed on the table in front of him, but instead took the orb that was given to him and then proceeded towards the red-framed doors that led into that familiar white corridor he'd already been to at some point. "There's one thing I don't understand," he would say though, as he stopped in the doorway, not looking back over his shoulder to look at Theodore. "If you're the one having implanted Hakore in Eric.. then why are you helping me relieve the boy of his darkness? Or is it that you believe this task will be too much for me to handle, and it'll be a great way of getting rid of Eric's only light in his life, and succumb to the power of darkness forever..?" With that, he walked into the white corridor.
