"Is this where the group is supposed to arrive?"
"I believe so...Husband! Look there they are!"
"I was kind of expecting...some more robust looking people but I guess they can do."
Yuuta had overheard the details of a certain mission. It seemed people had been disappearing from a local village without being returned. Curious, Yuuta without being in a specific guild, sneaked along with a group of people who seemed determined to see the mission completed. He kept to himself, and his hood down, trying to hide how young he was compared to the rest of the group. Though his shortness would easily rat him out as a child.
The village in question was none other than Tully Village. Known for their extensive elderly population, Yuuta felt strange being amongst so many people well past their prime. As he entered the slight banter of an apparent couple would grab his attention. With winds gusting about the route the group took throughout the day, Yuuta left them to their own devices, though the wind could not do the same to him. With a large breeze, his hood was blown back, and a finger shot up with necessary quickness towards him.
"And look at that Wife! That one is just a boy! Why I have liver spots older than he is!"
The old man with a cane seemed to be at his wits end, his ranting getting louder as he stormed off in the way elderly often did when they were disappointed. Walking up to the group as a small crowd would have started to accumulate around them, Wife spoke.
"Hello mages. Sorry for my Husband, he was abit..disappointed at the quantity of your group. These disappearances have been going on for a while you see...and we just expected a bit more. But then again, we can not knock the fact that help actually came!"
Yuuta stood off to the side of the group, not directly within the middle for the old lady was not talking to him but the oldest looking person of the group of three. She would slowly motion and name the places in the village, most easy to see from the vantage point at the village gate. Amongst the crowd, the group would see the number of villagers counting in the double digits. Though with the amount of houses, plus the assumed fact of at least four to six people per household, could leave no excuse that something indeed was happening here.
Though how to start finding out information?
"And that over there with the white cross, is Doctor Ginchiyo. He offers medical aide to everyone in the village, sometimes even free. He even gives treatment free of charge at times! He is a real sweetheart."
The Wife seemed to take a pause to see if the boys had anything to say before she continued, she did have a few more houses and families to mention to the group after all.

How did Tamir Doll end up in her current predicament? To understand this we have to go back a day or so to when she happened to overhear someone talking about gathering a group to investigate some missing person cases, she had in fact not applied for this, actually she had just ignored it and been on her way.
Sadly ‘on her way’ ended up being right into the path of the mages, being too shy to point out her mistake she kind of just tagged along, growing more and more hesitant to tell the truth as time went by.
The very fact that she had about as much combat experience as your average seven year old, well at least she had a good head on her shoulders and plenty of books in her bag, she wasn’t going to get bored at the very least. She hadn’t really spoken much to her companions but one of them seemed to be a very young person to say the least, she hadn’t caught his name but he seemed to be barely into his teens.
Now Tamir was far from old but her impressive height for a girl coupled with her ridiculously thick glasses made her appear a lot older than she actually was, which had as a consequence that the old couple addressed her of all people, really that scrawny other guy must have been a much better choice, he looked…well about her age but nevermind that, she was more shocked than anything at being talked to so suddenly that she almost didn’t reply at first, she worried that she might come off as rude but she regained her composure, if not quickly but at least fast enough that her hesitation might come off as mere thoughtfulness.
”D…Don’t worry, we will do our best to solve this”
She managed to slightly stammer out mere moments before the old lady pointed out the village doctor, what a kind man that provided free care for the elderly. Her investigative side starting to slowly chug its gears in order decided that he would be the best person to talk to first, a doctor saw a lot and might know something about the missing people
”Let’s go talk to the good doctor first”
She spoke with a rather weak voice, hoping that her fresh companions wouldn’t figure out that she had come with them by mistake.
Stretching out slightly her full body length suddenly made her feel like a giant, everyone else seemed to be at the very least fifteen centimetres shorter than her, the old couple and the young mage a lot more than that, almost letting out a panicky squeak she quickly crouched slightly again like she usually did, as if her book bag was weighing her down, which it actually was come think of it.
She started to walk over toward the doctor the couple had pointed out, praying that her companions would follow

Yuuta agreed with the girl whom the old woman choose to talk to.
She was taller than Yuuta at least and despite the sudden embarrassing attention the elderly man had given him, Yuuta was not about to leave without seeing the end of the mission. Looking amongst the crowd, Yuuta noticed that there was alot of women and babies, but not alot of the rest. Men, elderly, as well as children... Where were they? Out working?
Nodding towards the female in his group who suggested visiting the doctor, Yuuta watched and followed close as the old woman showed them the way. It was the least she could do, she continued to explain. She also pointed out a house left empty for them. The group that came to take the mission could have their own little living quarters to use until the mission was completed.
Making sure they arrived without an incident, the old lady introduced herself to the little girl whom was acting as secretary for the doctor mentioned the group, and went on her way. Yuuta watched the old lady leave, her own house not to far from the doctors own workplace.
"Hello mages. Strange I thought a... well no offensive, but a more rougher bunch would come and help. Though who would want to help these people when a compensation is not perfectly laid out but implied?"
A man would appear from a closed door his smile bright and his glasses round on his face.
"Leba Doartghin is my name. But everyone calls me Lee."
The doctor said taking off gloves and offering a hand to whomever would take it. He would accept the handshake of one as the "hello" of the group instead of shaking each person's hand.
Looking up at the man as he appeared, Yuuta noticed his emerald green eyes behind his round circle shaped glasses. He seemed nice enough, though how could a mean man heal the elderly of a village for close to no cost? Outside the sun was slowly starting to set, giving the group a few more hours to gather information before night blanketed the village.
"Excuse me... C-could you tell us about the attacks? Where did it happen? When? How many people had disappeared since it has started?"
Like a rapid shooter, Yuuta fired off questions as they popped into his head, the chuckling of the doctor bringing him to a stop at three. Tilting his head, Yuuta wondered why he was laughing. Was the disappearance of the villagers funny?
"Straight to the point? I like that. Sorry for my chuckling, but its not everyday I meet such a young detective."
Leading the group outside of his office and into the street, Leba would speak and point, pausing every now and then for other questions or statements the group members would have.
"Over there, the first, second and third house on both sides of the street were all attacked. In total, 10 were taken from the houses, more than half were young adults(12-17). The attacks have always been at night, though we have not been able to figure out a specific time."
As he spoke, Leba would look over the group again and again making it seem casual and normal to do so. One could assume it was to make sure they were listening and looking at where he was pointing...
"It started maybe... a few months ago? But at first we thought it was just by chance our young people have been going on adventures in the forest. Though our first in village disappearance was three weeks ago. Despite it being at night, we have not mapped a solid idea of when whoever is doing this will strike."
Yuuta nodded as he looked on, not paying attention to Leba's actions except for his words and where he was pointing. When he mentioned the houses, Yuuta noticed that the houses that were hit were the ones closest to the forest, the entrance to the village being equal walking distance from both first houses. He also noticed, that in the fourth row, the house beside the one most recently hit on the right side of the street was the house the old lady pointed out, the house they would be using while they were here.
Did they mean to offer up the first group that came to the kidnappers? Was the village actually in on the whole thing? Or was it simply coincidence? Yuuta would not know, but stay silent as he waited for the answers to any questions the rest of his group might have had.
