Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

OOC: srry for the delay and short post, rl is keeping me busy. ok so we split up, and catch one chocobo per post, when we have all 20 of them, we chase after the golden one. at least thats my plan, any sugestions for alternatives? the golden one will have actual stats by the way :P
Maya agreed that splitting up was a good idea, however, there were 4 directions to go and only 3 of them, so they it would still need to regroup afterwards and chase after the last 5, plus the special chocobo that Shuyin mentioned. It could be done but it was troublesome to say the least.

"Spliting up is indeed what we should do, but there is one extra group which we could lose track of if we wait too long, so we either get someone else to help us, or we might fail this."

And as to answer Maya's request, a man shows up, introducing himself as Kite from Fairy Tail, and the one who had taken this mission and who Maya was supposed to backup. Now, if only the rest of the day would go this well, Maya was sure to be back to the HQ before the end of the next day.

"Good that you could join us. I was just talking about how one more people would be required to catch all the chocobo before it was too late.", Maya paused and possitioned herself in a way that the other three could hear her clearly, "Ok. Here's my plan. We, will track down and catch all four groups of chocobo. Just catch them one at the time, tie them up on some tree, and once you have them all, bring them back here. Provided that the four groups are of around five chocobo each, we all should take around the same time to catch each group. The total count of chocobo should be of twenty plus the special one. If neither of us catches the last one, we can join up after the other twenty are safe."

Hearing the plan, Shuyin nodded. With the new arrival of a mage, they now had enough people to successfully capture majority of the chocobos. Looking around and finding a set of footprints, Shuyin motioned to the rest of the group. Since they would be splitting up, Shuyin figured it would be best to get started as soon as possible. With solid locations, a trek through the surroundings at night might attract unwanted attention by people as well as animals.

"I'll be going this way then. I bet Maya here will be back before the rest of us! I won't let her beat me!"

Sometime later

Shuyin would have followed the path seemingly into a forested area. A few bushes, a few brambles, but most importantly, the faint sound of a lake or stream could be heard in the distance. Shuyin smiled to himself as he continued to walk slowly, so not to surprise any of the potential Chocobo's in the area into running off.

It was not long until Shuyin came across one seemingly grazing. Trying to sneak up on it as quietly as he could in his armor, Shuyin slowly advanced towards the chocobo. Tensing his feet, Shuyin would leap towards the unaware Chocobo attempting to wrangle it into submission. Since it was caught by surprise, the Chocobo went down easy, Shuyin quickly tying it to a nearby tree and shaking his hair in an attempt to get rid of the sweat.

"One down. Four to go."

He said quietly to himself.

The fourth member of their hunting group (he still wanted to call it a hunting group) had finally arrived and it seemed that he was a guildmage. With the group complete, searching for the birds can finally begin. Well, it was a good thing he didn't say it out loud. Else the owner would have thrown another fit at his precious chocobos being called as mere birds. Oh well, perhaps he would get angry as well if his mighty hunting wolf would be called the same way – Dodger thought. In any case, they all agreed to be bringing in the chocobos before dark and the search was finally under way.

Dodger went towards the deeper hedges and almost immediately, his hunting senses turned on. First was to track the bird. He sniffed along the air, trying to find any anomaly before he caught sight of some yellow feather on a bush. He neared it, holding it by the hand before looking around. He was near, he thought and he focused his vision to the ground. Almost immediately did he spot a brushing mark on the ground and upon closer inspection, it was a chocobo trail. He grinned and followed.

Past another large bush, hiding behind a thicker hedge, Dodger finally spotted his prey. The yellow feather bag was standing by an open clearing in the forest. There it seemed to be sightseeing, or perhaps it may have found itself lost. It pecked on the ground a few times, perhaps grazing. Then it turned its head from side to side as if to understand or show confusion. Dodger didn't leave it alone that long. He quickly got onto his feet and dashed under vesper's influence. The bird had only a moment's advantage to turn and step aside, but the hunter was quickly to dove and reach for a leg. It would have ended with a brawl but he was careful. He merely toppled the bird before cooing it to calm it down. He then made use of the given rope to tie it. It seemed a bit hesitant but later followed Dodger to the entrance of the forest where it was tied to a tree.

"I'll be back," he told the bird before going into the tree's shadows again.

Despite the fact he was slightly intrusive upon his arrival it didn't seem to bother anyone which relieved Kite the last thing he wanted to do was cause issues with those who seemed to be there to help out with the mission. In fact the opposite happened the girl with the red cloak welcomed him to the party mentioning that mentioning that it was getting late and that they needed another person in order to possibly pass the mission. Kite smiled "i'm happy to join, initially another guild member was suppose to take the mission but passed it onto me at the last minute which is why I am so late" Kite said explaining why the he was tardy like he was.

Kite kept his attention on the red caped girl as she started to describe what her plan was as far as finding at catching the chocobo. Kite had no objections at all, it was a solid plan and sounded a lot more doable than Kite having to get all twenty on his own like he expected at first. The smaller male decided to head off in a random direction and mentioned that he figured Maya would get back before the rest of them. Kite looked at the red caped girl and figured since Maya sounded like a girl's name and she was the only girl here so made sense. The taller man headed off in his own direction which acted as a sign for Kite to make his own way to find his share of Chocobo. " alright see you all real soon and good luck" Kite said as he headed off towards the woods area.

After several minutes of walking Kite made it to the edge of the woods Kite caught sigh of something on the ground, a rather bad smell and Kite looked down at his boots. A vein popped on the side of his head when he realized what he had stepped in. It was bird droppings of sorts and by the smell of it they were fresh. " wonderful.. if I didn't have to return these birds I'd totally make some fried chicken out of them for this. But at least I know now that I'm close to finding my first bird." Kite took a few steps and came up to an easy tree to climb and climbed up the branches and sat there and looked around and then started jumping from branch to branch until he noticed some molted feathers on the ground and some foot prints in the dirt. " alright, getting.." Just then Kite spotted the yellow feathers and the long neck of a chocobo which sparked Kite's memory " I see, didn't realize that this was the same kind of thing that Kaze could summon, interesting which means I can't let this thing run or I may have an issue."

Kite jumped to the tree with a branch right above the where the chocobo was relaxing and it seemed that it hadn't seen Kite yet which meant he had the element of surprise on his side. Kite waited for a second when it decided to lower it's head in order to eat more of the grass and the second it did Kite jumped onto it's back and with the rope made into a lasso Kite had the loop around the birds beak and started to ride it like a horse. It jumped and thrashed about trying to get Kite off until Kite pulled on the ropes " easy big guy take it easy!" which made it calm down and it stopped thrashing about. Kite figured that this Chocobo could lead it to the others plus it would act as a nice means of transportation in the mean time.

It seemed everyone agreed with the plan, but then again, there wasn't much to disagree on either. It was simple and basic to say the least, but Maya had confidence that everyone would be able to handle their part. That said, even if they weren't it would make little difference. Regardless, as Maya saw the three follow their trail to the forest, Maya found herself with the trail that lead to the rocky areas. Not really a good place to hide, but the open areas allowed any animal to reach their top speed with ease. That also worked for Maya's advantage, but only if she was faster that is.

Making her way north, following her trail, Maya did not take long to find one of the chocobo birds. It really had a funny look to it, but Maya assumed that it was faster than that big not so aerodynamic head gave away. Still, there was many ways to handle this kind of situation, as even if there weren't many places for a bird that size to hide in, it was easy to use the big rocks in this area to hide your approach, and since chocobos had huge eyes, Maya suspected that the sense of smell and/or hearing was not the main way to search for threats this birds had.

As a result, Maya found herself right on top of the chocobo, after climbing the rock that was closer to the bird, and used that advantage to jump onto the bird before he had time to react. It was pointless to say that the chocobo did not expect Maya to just fall on him, and before he tried to run, Maya had already taken out her scythe, and was now using it as an anchor, causing the bird to skid in the same place instead of running.

Once he got tired, Maya unmounted the bird, and tied him up to a heavy looking rock that was nearby. Hopefully, said rock would be heavy enough to prevent the bird from getting far before Maya returned.

Now for the other four. Well, since it was this easy to catch this one, Maya decided that maybe she would let the next one run, so she could find out what to expect from this birds, and estimate the speed of the special one... to avoid surprises.

After securing his bird, Shuyin continued on his way. The others would not be too far from this one, Shuyin assuming that this one that he had recently caught was along the outer most rim if one was to look at this from a birds-eye view. So all he had to do was continue walking towards the stream he was hearing and he would sooner than later run into yet another Chocobo.

As he walked, paying attention to his surroundings mostly, Shuyin began to wonder what it would be like to be a Chocobo. Their bodies were oddly shaped though clearly fit for running and crossing large distances quickly. Though could they fly? They indeed did have wings, though maybe their total body mass was too heavy to actually be carried off the ground...Crossing a threshold, Shuyin heard the soft squishing noise of something beneath his foot.

Taking a step back and looking down, Shuyin barely had time to question what it was, as a blur of yellow rammed into him. Rolling from the blow and to his feet, Shuyin drew his shield and sword in one fluid moment to take on the attacker. Though, his attacker was one of the Chocobo's! Weren't they supposed to be docile? Sheathing his sword, Shuyin slowly approached the bird. It seemed mad at him, though why...?

Looking down, Shuyin gathered the reason and sighed. He had stepped in and ruined what food it was accumulating. Charging at Shuyin, the bird seemed to twist and turn at the last moment its clawed foot aiming right for his shield. Placing a light hold on the shield, Shuyin spun to the right at the last second, and slammed his shield into the side of the bird in hopes of knocking it off balance.

He was successful as he watched the Chocobo fall. Quickly he ditched his shield and grabbed the nearest food to him and knelt beside the angry bird. Showing it the apple and bowing his head, Shuyin saw the Chocobo slowly get up and approach the apple, eating it. Rising with a rope in hand, Shuyin carefully tied the Chocobo, and lead it back to where the first one he captured was.

"Three more to go...

Dodger made his way into forest again. Searching among the lichen trees and the short grass, he wondered if any other chocobo was in the area. He looked beyond the clearing he had earlier found the first bird from but there was no sign of any other chocobo. He clicked his tongue in frustration as he walked back and forth within the green patch. He looked about and tried to hear… oh wait, he can't. He grumbled under his breath. One of the worst way to hunt was not be able to hear, and this hunt was all together different still because he didn't have the choice of killing the prey. Indeed, it was always faster to hunt when you didn't have to care about harming the prey or not.

Then, as the hunter stopped halfway, he caught something yellow from afar. He traced back his steps and turned his head and found the bird's yellow feather waving in the air. Almost at once, Dodger gave chase. He went over the hedges and ran down the path. He jumped over to a tree, and started jumping from one branch to another, snooping low to find the bird at a run. He figured it must have sensed him coming. He smiled. He was up for a bit of an adventure. Dodger at once riled up with vesper's influence left a crimson light in his wake. And as he neared, he jumped off from the last tree and landed before the chocobo squarely on the ground, skidding to a halt as he leaned low, putting a hand on the ground and marking a line.

The chocobo stopped on its tracks before turning to the side and running away with a loud squawk. Immediately, Dodger jumped to a start and came running next to it. At least he knew he was fast enough for a good chase, and that small word from the owner about a fast chocobo among those who escaped returned to his mind. Perhaps this was not yet that bird. In any case, he got hold of the bird and made sure not to tackle it down. It took a bit but at least he didn't have to harm the chocobo and before he knew it, he was whispering soft words to the bird to calm it down. As with before, he motioned it to come with him as he made his way back to the entrance and tied the bird with the one he caught before. Two more to go.

It didn't take Kite long at all to find the first of his five chocobos and this was a good sign. Kite rode on the first chocobo with a laso securely around it's beak. Kite wasn't too sure how long it will take him to find the others one but he looked up into the sky Well the sun is still out which means that there is still time for me to find these birds Kite took a second to stop thinking and scratched his head " I wonder how the others are doing with their findings... I guess I will find out later first things first. I got to take care of my fair share of the birds." Kite said to himself as he steadily rode on the back of the chocobo he snagged earlier.

Kite figured that even though he found his first target in the woods that didn't mean that they would all be in the same area. If anything they would look for water of some sort so that made Kite figure that a lake, pond or even a simple stream would be the place to look. Kite rubbed the Chocobos neck and leaned down " lets grab some water then I will take ya home with the rest of your flock" He said to his temporary travel mate. Kite pulled on the rope so the Chocobo would stop and stay in place so Kite could do his best to listen to his surroundings to see if he could hear water of any sort. Kite managed to hear the sound of splashing of sorts. Kite knew where it was he had to go and so he pulled the rope in the direction that he heard the water and so he and the Chocobo started to head in that general direction.

After a few minutes of riding towards where he had heard the water he managed to see a small little pond with several trees surrounding it and he gave out a small sigh " that's what I'm talking about good luck on my part!" Kite said as he hopped off the Chocobo and took hold of the rope and lead the Chocobo by foot to the edge of the pond tied the rope to a nearby tree that was close enough for him to get a drink and more importantly to keep it secured while Kite himself got a drink. Kite walked over and quickly sipped some water that he scooped up with his hand and then dried his hands on his pants and walked away from the Chocobo and sat in a nearby tree. The Chocobo he had secured stood at the edge and drank a good amount of water and squawked twice and out of the woods came two more Chocobos. "alright lets do this" he said in a whisper as the Chocobos approached the one he had caught earlier and Kite made his move. He readied another lasso and clicked on his Pulsar boots and rocketed towards the two new Chocobos and managed to catch one around it's neck but as soon as Kite managed to rope one of the two the free one turned tail and ran away. Kite landed and looked in the direction the Chocobo took off in. " two down three to go... and soon to be three down" he said with a laugh and walked to the bird still tied to the tree and untied the end that was secured to the tree and took both ropes in his hand and started to lead them to where he thought the Chocobo ran off in.

Finding the next chocobo wasn't as hard as Maya expected. The distance from the first to where she found the second wasn't more than one hundred meters. She was no less surprised that the bird did not seem to sense her approach, than she was from the fact that he did not seem to even notice the noise of Maya's previous capture. But then, taking into consideration how easy it was to get close to the previous chocobo, it might be that the birds themselves are not very worried about predators. A side effect from being a domesticated species no doubt.

Still, Maya decided to make sure of this by going around the bird, staying only hidden from view as even an oblivious bird like that would see her if she simply walked around, and getting in from of it. Her plan was to spook it and run after it to test his speed. If it was faster than her, she would let it go and get it later since they seemed easy to catch by surprise, otherwise, it was pointless to sneak around when she could just outrun them. And she was going to test it out on this one.

Appearing in front of the bird, Maya expected it to simply run away as soon as he spotted her. But that was not what happened. Instead, it just stood there, looking at her like she was something interesting to watch. Maya was now sure this species was indeed too domesticated to even know what predators are. However, she still needed to test their speed. So, Maya raised her arms, and tried to look as threatening as possible, as she began to run towards the bird. The bird was easily spooked and immediately turned to run away.

Maya followed, trying to keep up with the chocobo. Or that was what she thought, as she quickly began to gain terrain on the bird. She was surprised, as she knew she would possibly be able to keep up with them in speed, but never thought she would actually be faster, even if by little, than a bird that size.

Maya positioned herself, on the side of the bird, trying to lead its run towards the other one she had caught, so she would have to walk that distance afterwards. The thing is, this birds were more air headed than what she thought, as the bird she was chasing was so focused on running from her, it didn't even noticed the other Maya had caught, as it went around the rock, causing a collision that resulted in a lot of yellow feathers flying around.

Fortunately, it only seemed to stun the birds, and got quickly back to their feet, only to find themselves tied to each other, in addition to the rock.

Maya had now captured the second one, and only hoped that the other three did all the work like this last one.

The stream that Shuyin was hearing seemed to be getting closer. He had already caught two of the five chocobo's he needed to catch before rendez-vous-ing with Maya and Dodger as well as the mage that showed himself before. How were they fairing? Shuyin wondered with a hand slightly gasping his chin creating an air of deep thought.

Looking towards the sky, Shuyin wondered where the other Chocobo's could even be. Were they gathered at the stream? That would make sense. The day was getting hotter and even wild animals needed a drink, so for tame and domesticated animals, drinking would be necessary for them. As Shuyin continued to trek, a strange call went out. It was not human clearly, but Shuyin felt obliged to run towards it.

Soon enough he saw the owner of the call. One of the Chocobo's that he assumed would have been apart of the group he was meant to capture, was cornered by a few wolves. They looked nothing out of the ordinary, probably they were crossing the way and smelt the soft flesh of the Chocobo.

"Leave it alone!"

Shuyin yelled running in with his shield instead of his sword drawn. Slamming his shield into the wolves as they turned to attack him, Shuyin beated and thrusted them backwards away from the Chocobo as they tried to get past him. Eventually they gave up, howling and running in the opposite direction of Shuyin and the Chocobo. Panting, as the exchange left him slightly winded, Shuyin turned to find the Chocobo still there, eyeing him.

Tilting his head as he tiredly went to it, pulling a rope out of his pocket, Shuyin wondered if the Chocobo's willingness to cooperate was because he had just saved it from a less desirable fate. Whats a rope being tied around your neck, to almost being savaged by wolves?
