Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Shuyin attempted to take in his surroundings as the boy who introduced himself as Dodger sat and spoke a few words. He seemed to be analytically inclined, as he sprouted some words Shuyin remembered from a psychology book he read in a library.

"Or, that is just how she acts."

Shuyin added onto the end of Dodger's comment about the red headed girl whom introduced herself as Maya. Her words about being a knight whos duty was to aid others..... could not have been said better by himself. After her words were said, Shuyin could only smile...it was as if he was sitting across from a female version of himself..mentally wise. He also noted, that her grace when eating could probably reflect the grace in her overall life as well as movement...if there would be any fighting in this, Shuyin knew that seeing her fight would be a treat in itself.

"I see where your coming from Dodger-san... But it does not take much to unlock a gate. An older man or woman could have easily done this to allow the animals an escape. Close-ties can also give way to easily made grudges.

Shuyin did indeed feel the eyes of various people on the little group that he was apart of but he paid them no mind. Most were probably on Dodger due to his.... "extravagant" entrance.

"I think asking around would be the best route of action. Maybe find some information about the area. Do we know if the Chocobo travel as a group? Do they answer to any specific names or phrases?"

He observed their words again, trying to make out anything from it, perhaps a clue. Then Maya said something about a mage taking care of it. That rang a bell somehow, but what? As far as he was concerned, he was in the area for a hunting job. Herding was not in his vocabulary and thus he wouldn't have heard anything about it. But the two proved important grounds. Information was necessary, and Dodger was aching to get a move on. The waitress arrived and politely settled a cup of water for him since he wasn't even planning on ordering though politeness inclined her to do so. He nodded to her before she left. And as he took a sip from the cup, he could feel prying eyes at their table. He grinned; he could feel his blood boil in excitement for some reason.

And as soon as he was done, he lowered the cup and said, "Despite their age, they're still wary of the unknown." He was talking about the people in the area who seemed dire to know his intentions. Perhaps his appearance had something to do with it. Not that it mattered to him. He then looked towards Maya and Shuyin and nodded, "I'm not really suited for staying in one place. If it's information we need, I'll find some outside. Perhaps we can meet later by the chocobo's den and ask the owner. For now, I'd like to scout the area and ask for witnesses and perhaps some information from the rest of the village."

He then stood up slowly and noticed how some of the spectators had shifted in their seats. He smirked. He knew it. He was their attention. It wouldn't help them at all if he made everyone tense. Perhaps the two could find out more without him being there to put everyone on guard. He then tapped a finger on the table as a way of saying he's leaving now. "See you both before nightfall." And with that, he turned on his heels and went straight for the door.

Outside, the eyes of onlookers weren't gone. Some still eyed him, though perhaps with less malice. He nodded at their direction in politeness before he started off to where he could find some information. Perhaps if he went to that direction where those middle aged men whom he first caught wind about the chocobos he might be able to get some answers.

Maya agreed with Shuyin, some information was required to proceed with the mission. It couldn't be that hard though, there was bound to be someone around with some knowledged about chocobos and possibly their approximate location. The nearby forest was dense, and it was easy to hide in, and the small mountain range to the north was close enough to any animal to reach in less than a day, but it was hard to hide in the rocky area, which anyone who wanted to reach it had to cross. Still it was still a possibility.

Dodger then decided to leave to hunt for those information. Maya finished her meal almost at the same time as Dodger left through the door. Leaving the payment for the meal on the table, as well as a small tip, Maya got up and prepared to head out.

"We should be able to get some information from the owner. My guess is that he should be in the outskirts of the town.", said Maya to Shuyin as she walked past him.

The sun was reaching high on the sky as Maya walked out of the Inn. Catching up to Dodger, Maya stood in front of him to prevent him from going too far.

"Nightfall is still a long time from now. We should be going to the farmer's house to get the information we need. After all, who would know more than the owner right?"

Yes alone time with Maya!

Shaking his head to clear out the first thought that jumped into his mind when Dodger said and decided that he would leave and acquire some information on his own, Shuyin dropped some change for his drink and followed behind Maya. He agreed with her ideas, the Chocobo owner would know the most about his missing "cargo". Maya seemed fleet of foot however, as she was able to get infront of Dodger and cut him off from leaving.

Ah so that was her idea.

"Yeah, before you go off, let's all start off on the same page. You wouldn't want to go around spending the daylight asking and finding out things we could have found out within seconds of asking the owner right?"

This boy, this Dodger seemed a bit edgy. Or maybe eager. Either way he obviously did not like to be in one place for too long, and liked to get a start on his tasks no matter what they were. But that haste might not be too good, for Shuyin would always remember. It was the turtle that beat the hare.

Looking around, Shuyin pointed in the general direction the Chocobo Owner would be.

"Shall we go?"

Just as he was about to go look for those gents, the girl from earlier, Maya was her name, suddenly caught up to him. He was lucky to have looked at her lest he missed her words. And as if to expect it, he looked to the side and caught the knight. Of course they were likely to get more answers from the owners; Dodger was just more skeptical. He was adamant on the idea that there was definitely a perpetrator (despite how inconclusive the idea was and he wasn't even a detective to begin with to have such hunches) but the two were now finally on the move and he liked that. He grinned and patted Maya on the head, "Alright, lead the way."

He would eventually follow the two from behind. He wasn't that trusting just yet to stand beside them, nor was he knowledgeable of the whereabouts of the owner's house to even lead. All he knew was that if the two were rearing to find those birds (it seemed) then he should work on their initiative and propel the investigation. He chucked inwardly, remembering those books he was taught to read before leaving the capital of Desierto, were he learned of this special hero who liked researching so much. Perhaps he was trying to imitate him, but he was far from being a perfect investigator; a third-rate.

The walk wouldn't take them long though they would be brought to the outskirts, right before the woods. A perfect place to have a fenced area just behind the house and an outhouse to shelter the tools and other items for chocobo raising. Of course, it began to smell like those birds and Dodger was trying to remember the scent to help him in the location of the said missing. Luckily for them, the owner, an old man with a straw hat, was sitting by the front porch of his house, clearly troubled when he spotted their unlikely group walking down the silent thoroughfare of the village. He went for them and greeted them, "You young ones the one?"

OOC: Sorry for the delay but I am here now

While at his guild hall in Magnolia Kite was in the middle of getting ready to eat his breakfast. " yes I will take a bowl of Fairy Ramen please" Kite had asked the counter girl and with in minutes he had received his bowl of ramen and started to make his way over to his usual table when he was called over by one of his fellow guildmates. Kite looked his way Man I just wanna eat and take a job, he better make this fast Kite thought to himself and walked over to where his friend was sitting. " hey Kite over here., I have to ask you a favor, a mission request from a friend of mine came in on the request board, it seems that he had a bit of an accident in Tully Village, and that some of his chocobos have managed to escape including his rare Golden one, could you go on down there and take care of it, since you are a mission away from being able to go on c-ranked missions I figured this one would be right up your ally" His guildmate said to him as he patted Kite's shoulder. Kite took his free hand and removed his hand from his shoulder, "alright I will eat and then head on out thanks for the this man I appreciate it" Kite said as he sat at the that table and started to devour his Ramen and left the bowl on the table and quickly headed for the apartment that he shared with his friend and teammate Zach in order to pack what he needed for the mission.

After a quick train ride into Tully village Kite exited the train while stretching and let out a slight groan as his back made a pop like sound. "That's what I get for falling asleep on the ride over, now then I guess I have to head to the address listed on the flyer right?" He asked himself as he looked down at the sheet of paper in his hand. I am not too familiar with this town and it's starting to get a bit later than I really need it to be, perhaps I should go ask for directions before I get lost and it will be a real pain finishing the job Kite thought to himself as he started to head into the heart of the village, where there were the most amount of people. Just then his stomach gave out a roar and it hit him that he hadn't eaten since had left Magnolia and it hit him. He would go to one of the food stands in the area and while getting food he would ask for directions, it was perfect.

Kite quickly located a burger stand that was making fresh grilled burgers Perfect Kite said as he walked over to the stand and stood in line. After a few minutes it was his turn " I will take a medium well burger with everything on it please" he asked the owner and after he was rung up Kite handed the man the mission flyer " do you know how I can get to this chocobo farm by chance, I'm not from around here", the man working the stand gave him his food and told him that the farm was on the outskirts of town and pointed him in the direction he needed to go. Kite ate his food while he walked to where the man had told him to go and after a good amount of walking he noticed the farm and realized that he wasn't that far out from where he needed to be alright! I will have to give the burger guy a big tip on my way back he thought to himself as he walked up the path that led to the owner's house. Kite then noticed that there were more people here than he had expected and they seemed to be talking with the owner of the farm judging by the had the older man was wearing. Only being several feet from the front of the house Kite made his way up behind the group.

OOC: YAY LIQUID IS HERE. ok that helps with my plan. once kaito joins us we will split to catch 5 chocobos each. Starting with my next post we will be catching one chocobo per post, go wild on how you find them and how you get their hands on them. about keeping the ones you catch, just tie them to a tree until you have all five before returning to the farm. we will then go after the gold one
Once it was obvious everyone agreed, the group made its way to the house of the one that requested the job. If the village had a look of old, with its wood houses and old people, then the countryside not only looked old, it was old as well, with the wood fences, wall, columns, and everything else of wood, a lot more degraded than the well kept city buildings. The farm animals were also a regular sight, either roaming freely on the field, or closed in their dens. Chocobos, or what Maya knew to be Chocobos, where only seen where the owner of the escaped one lived. It seemed he had more than twice, the amount that had escaped, left.

Once they arrived the man asked if they were the ones.

"No, we are not the ones that took the mission.", Maya replied, "But we came here to assist the one that did. However, if he is yet to arrive we can start looking for the birds anyway."

Maya did not feel like extending the job for a duration longer than she needed to. Its not like she hated this kind of slow calm job, she just didn't enjoy it.

"Birds? Chocobos are not just birds! They are friends, and they bring happiness to everyone who owns one!", replied the old man.

The tone he was aggravated by having someone call his birds... birds. Clearly his happiness knew no bounds. But Maya wasn't here to argue about some small stuff, nor did she want to annoy herself with it.

"Ok then. What can you tell us about the chocobos?"

"Well. They have a yellow coat of feathers, they like to..."

"I meant,...", interrupted Maya, "... what can you tell us about where the chocobos could be, and how hard are they to catch that you need to send a request to guilds to help you out?"

"Oh! That!", said the man as if he had finally understood, "Yeah, there were footprints heading into four directions. The chocobos are fast, but they won't run too far away if they find a safe place to wander. So they should be on the surrounding forest and mountains."

Great. The group of twenty one was now four groups of five, with an extra one that could or not be in one for those groups, and they were just 3, meaning that even if they splitted up and caught five each, they would still need to return and head to the last group. And that meant time... annoying.

Shuyin quietly listened as the man and Maya conversed about any details that could be helpful to the situation. It was just then that Shuyin heard all that he needed to know. They would be in the surrounding area he said, amongst the forest and mountains, and would not stray to far if they found a safe place to stay.

But the real trouble, was the fact that they were not infact altogether. They had split up, and so would their small band of helpful knights and mages. With four groups of five, Shuyin figured each of them would have to take a group, then regroup to find the final and most special chocobo.

Smiling and clasping an armored hand on the owners shoulder, Shuyin would nod and speak before removing his hand and turning to check out the footprints.

"You've done good man. Now, for these prints. I don't think it should take too long to find these chocobos. So even if we split up we should be able to regroup soon enough to go after the special Chocobo right?"

Talking to the owner wasn't much of a problem, especially when the talking wasn't made by him, Dodger thought. He simply had to read the responses while Maya led the discussion. It was clear from the get-go that there was definitely a catch in there, and it seemed as though the chocobos may have scattered all around them. Searching for them by just three people would be problematic as it left one direction unmanned, but more so if he had done it himself. And from the looks of it, he may not even be allowed to use a bit of force to do the capturing at all. Yes, it was quite problematic when a hunter's advantage would have to be put aside for simple luring.

Still, it was quite remarkable that Shuyin was able to make things seem more…. cheery in some way. No, positive. Dodger curved a brow as it reminded him of a certain young hunter from years before who liked to undermine preys, but then again, chocobos weren't as deadly as fifteen-foot wyverns of Desierto. He grinned as he lifted a finger as if to call their attention to him.

"If this is all the necessary information we could get, we might as well begin. Even if there's three of us, judging from the owner's explanation, these chocobos may end up quite problematic in the long run," he said. Looking around them – from the outhouse, the bird pen, the nearby trees and the town, it was like a small play pen for those birds, but as the owner suggests, the forest or the mountain it is. Great. A mountain. "I like the idea of the mountain," he made a sarcastic remark, "Whoever said land birds feared height?"

While approaching the building which he could only assume to be the owner's house but upon his arrival he noticed that there were three other people all huddled around the farmer. Kite smiled slightly and stopped for a second. "one.two.three. That's three more than that idiot told me that would be joining me on this mission. It would have been nice to have known that I was going to have some form of help hmmm maybe they are lost and looking for directions back to the main village? Well I guess there is only one real way of finding out." he said to himself as he started to once again walk towards the farm house.

As Kite got closer to where the farmer and the group of people where he could start to hear them discussing something granted Kite was still a little too far to hear what was exactly being said but he was able to pick up some of the words one of them being Chocobo. Well that confirms it, they aren't looking for directions and I get some extra help on this little mission. Perfect the more people the faster this will get done He thought to himself as he approached. While walking he found himself close enough to catch the last little bit of what the farmer had to say to short red haired girl who was wearing a red hooded cloak about the chocobos foot prints and how they split into four different directions and even went further to add that if these chocobos had managed to find a secure place they would stay there naming the forest and mountainous areas. He then heard the shorter young man say something about being able to round up the chocobos and then regrouping here then quickly going for the special one which Kite assumed he meant the golden one that was specifically mentioned to him by his guild mate. Finally he heard the last gentleman mention that there was only three of them and that would be an issue.

" Well then it's a good thing that there is four of us isn't there?" Kite said as he walked up the path leading to the house. Kite walked up to the group and stood next to the man who last spoke but gave his attention to the gentleman who owned the farm. Kite pulled a piece of paper from his right cargo pocket and unfolded it four times revealing the mission flyer that had been given to him by his friend back at Fairy Tail and showed the man "Hi, I'm Kite from Fairy Tail here to accept the mission to help you find your missing Chocobos" Kite said as he lifted his right arm in the same motion someone would do in order to flex a muscle but he simply revealed his guild's mark located on his inner bicep. Kite looked back at the group realizing that he just completely barged in on their mission "Wow I'm sorry that's if it's ok with you guys." he said in an apologetic tone while scratching his hair. " if it helps there would be four of us tracking these things" he said to them trying to make a good point.
